while we’re at it, here are the outfits for each of the different games/eras in elder scrolls I made for my boy. this sheet is old as sin and I should really remake it lmao
#most of these are just straight rips from game outfits#but that’s okay it just makes it more canon lol#could definitely use some improvement though. this is from literal years ago#elder scrolls online#elder scrolls#Skyrim#morrowind#oblivion#OC Art#oc lumriel#Lumriel Larethoren#my art#OC#Ghoulish OCs

Since Lumriel is a multi-game oc does he change depending on where he is in life or does he relatively stay the same throughout the elder scrolls series?
Yeah ! Usually I just adapt him for whatever game he’s in (Morrowind is the one that strays from his original concept the most), but there’s only a couple of the storylines I consider “”canon”” to him (I.e. the ones I mentioned previously). I don’t necessarily see him as any of the games’ main heroes (nerevarine, hero of kvach, Dragonborn) as none of them fit his story or personality. But the side quests are perfect, especially the DLC stuff.
Honestly I was just fucking around in the character creator (I think I downloaded some new mods I wanted to see) and I just tried to make the most orange Altmer I could make. Skyrim, though its CC is comparatively limited, does indeed let you make a VERY orange Altmer. Oblivion is even better for this lmfao but then I committed to the bit and started this play through where I gathered every single fire-based spell and item in the game. This eventually morphed into me creating actual lore for him cause I really liked the idea of a sunfire mage (healing, fire, archery, Auriel, etc). It was a longgggggg process
I like to think that it follows a loose idea of his early life right after he leaves his family. Still sort of connected to Summerset but branching out and traveling farther into Tamriel (particularly Hammerfell). It’s been a super long time since I’ve played ESO (not for lack of wanting, I just haven’t had the funds to pay for stupid fucking xbox live lmfao) BUT I vaguely remember the quest about the Vestige joining a group of scholar-warriors called the Star-Gazers who study the stars (and the star-signs by proxy) which I think is perfectly suited to his story themes. I also liked the Summerset quest line where you acted as a spy for Altmer royalty or something (I don’t remember but the Khajiit spy character was very fun, I liked him)
I think that’s everything for now !! Thank you again for your interest, I love having an excuse to write all this down. Hopefully others on the TL don’t mind the literal essays I’m putting out right now.

Does Lumriel have any distaste for vampires or werewolves? What are his thoughts on them?
Thank you for the asks !!! I love yapping !!! 🙌🙌 answering these in chunks so I don’t spam yalls dashes
I would say, not inherently, even in the event that he becomes part of the Dawnguard. I feel like he understands that vampirism/lycanthropy ≠ evil in that everyone is an individual who can make choices. I like to think that followers of Auriel are empathetic to them.
Speaking of empathy, his family was very much not empathetic… to anything, really. His family was a brand of strict that made even other Altmer cringe. They wanted him to become a Thalmor mage but Lumriel, under the studies of Auriel from a very young age, rejected the idea that anyone would need to be “eradicated” such as the Thalmor want to do to Talos worshippers.
Which brings me to this question. He cannot stand them. The Thalmor bring him great shame and it’s a very personal guilt for him.
In these scenarios, it’s mostly a matter of doubting the idea of inherent goodness in individuals which is then a weakness taken advantage of by Hermaeus Mora. Hermaeus Mora offers a sense of belonging that is just faintly like what he experienced amongst Altmeri society so he falls for it easily.

WHO IS THAT HANDSOME ALTMER YOU POSTED THE ERA OUTFIT SHEET FOR? TELL ME ALL ABOUT HIM
AHHHHHH THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN MY SWEET PERFECT BOY
his name is Lumriel Larethoren and he actually the product of a joke character I made in Skyrim and then got attached to haha I was trying to make the orangest altmer I could (with great success) and I ended up making him across all the Elder Scrolls games (even ESO)
He’s a what I call a sunfire mage (very much inspired by the Templar class in ESO.. I think. It’s been a longggg while since I’ve been on ESO) in which he mainly uses healing restoration magic and fire destruction magic. His backstory varies a bit but in the main one I’ve got, he’s from a wealthy noble family in Summerset whom he runs away from/is estranged from after he realizes they’re a bunch of assholes. He then travels the rest of Tamriel in search of a place to belong.
My favorite outcomes are 1.) joins the thieves guild in Skyrim, falls in love with Brynjolf. 2.) falls in service to Hermaeus Mora, goes crazy, becomes evil and cunty. 3.) joins the Dawnguard, this is the “”good”” ending where he keeps his faith to Auriel and becomes an epic protector of the people and archivist of Aldmeris culture. I have another TES storyline that he’s a side character in but I’ll have to draw the rest of my OCs for it to make sense haha
I wish I had more art of him to share with you but alas ! All I’ve got is the sheet and the Apocrypha piece. I’ll have to make more soon !!

Does Lumriel travel with any companions? Any long term companions or any in-game companions he hires temporarily? Or have you not worked out specific scenarios like that?
I think the only one that fits in any of his stories is Brynjolf for the thieves guild line. You asked if there was a reason why I chose these particular quest lines for him and it has to do with Lumriel’s search for a sense of belonging which the guild most certainly offers. It’s a found family situation in that quest line and Brynjolf is written in a way that offers a tender guiding hand where Lumriel so desperately needs it. In this line, he’s doesn’t necessarily abandon his faith to Auriel but it’s definitely put on the back-burner in favor of leading the guild (I haven’t been able to think a way out of the bit with Nocturnal but I don’t think he’d swear fealty to her). He leans into archery in this line.
He definitely does not see himself as superior to anyone (maybe besides like. murderous criminals haha) and there’s not really a lot that he takes from Altmeri society in terms of pride.
Earlier I mentioned that I had a different story idea with other OCs in which Lumriel is a side character of a sort and there’s one character who he ends up being partners in crime with. Their group comes across a Khajiit named Ra’zhid, a thief who lies about his intentions but eventually becomes a real friend. Ra’zhid has a wry, straightforward personality that Lumriel is drawn to in yin/yang sort of way. He’s a “he asked for no pickles” type that Lumriel likes.
#IM REALLY GONNA HAVE TO DRAW MY OTHER OCS ATP#but I don’t even know where to begin with my other storyline because it’s SO MUCH LMFAO#tes#elder scrolls#tes oc#OCs#Lumriel Larethoren#oc Lumriel#Ra’zhid Dar#oc Ra’zhid#ask me things
