Segovia is a wonderful Spanish city to visit full of culture, history and treasures of traveling. Segovia is located in north western central Spain, in the autonomous region of Castile and Leon. Segovia has many famous landmarks from the Roman Aqueduct that runs through the city, to the Segovia Cathedral and el Alcázar de Segovia; three places you can’t miss if you are visiting this Spanish city. The Roman Aqueduct and the Alcazar of Segovia have been added as UNESCO World Heritage Sites, but even more interesting, is that the entire old city of Segovia was added as a UNESCO site in 1985. Segovia is one of the many cities of Spain filled with stunning treasures of traveling to see and explore! Everything in Segovia is within walking distance, which makes it easy to discover most of the city. Walking tours are one of my favorite ways to discover a new city. Madrid is the capital city of Spain and is full of treasures to explore. It is central to the entire country and is the seat of the central government. It is filled with grand boulevards full of shopping and restaurants. 

There are world famous parks like El Retiro, where you can relax and watch people enjoying themselves away from the hustle and bustle of city life. Madrid has world famous museums filled with European art, like the Reina Sofía and the Prado Museum showcasing works by Goya and Velázquez, just to name a few. 

Last, but not least, I can’t forget about the Royal Palace and the many famous city plazas filled with art and street performers. Visiting the Royal Palace of Madrid!

Madrid is the capital city of Spain and is full of treasures to explore like the Royal Palace of Madrid. In Spanish, it’s known as Palacio Real de Madrid. It is the official residence of the Royal Family, but they don’t actually live here. Today, the Palace is mostly used for state ceremonies. Right next to the Royal Palace is Madrid’s Cathedral that was completed in 1994! The Palace is also just a short walk from other famous Spanish squares like Puerta del Sol and Plaza Mayor.  

The current location of the palace is located on the site of a 9th century Moorish Alcázar, (Muslim fortress), after it burned in 1734. King Felipe V decided to construct a new Royal Palace on the same site. During this time, the palace was also known as “Palacio Nacional”. The palace was built in the form of a square and was inspired by sketches made by Bernini he construction of the Louvre in Paris. The palace is made up of over 3,000 rooms, which makes it one of Europe’s largest castles and is now filled with multiple artworks and antiques.

Bolivia is a fantastic country to visit and is full of different treasures of traveling to explore and these are the five places I recommend to visit on any trip to Bolivia.

Bolivia is a country of many contrasts and is a wonderful place to visit on any trip through South America. This land locked country may be one of the poorest in South America, but from the exquisite natural beauty to the stunning and varied landscapes throughout the country that might be a detail you don’t even notice. What type of landscapes you ask? Well, from the Atacama Desert in the west to the high Andes mountains and finally to the jungles of the Amazon in the east, there is an immense amount of natural beauty and diversity throughout the entire country.

This diversity not only includes mother nature, but also the many different cultures that developed in those very diverse regions of the country. Bolivia is one of the highest countries on Earth and even its very own capital, La Paz, has the designation of being the highest capital in the world! From the highest capital city in the world, to the unworldly landscape of the largest salt flats in the world, to the Island of the Sun located on Lake Titicaca, which happens to be the highest navigable lake in the world, there is some type of record setting natural wonder to explore or adventure to experience in Bolivia.

Since tonight is the season finale of Amazing Race on CBS, I thought I would finally share our Amazing Race audition video! My sister and I had talked about and tried to make a video in July 2014 and then again in May 2015 and each time we were so busy either seeing family or visiting national parks on our short family trips that we didn't actually complete the video so we finally met together once again in April of 2017 and on our third attempt we finally completed the video! The thing is we just don't see each other that often because I live in North Carolina and my sister lives in New Hampshire. The important thing was that we finally made a video together and submitted it to CBS! Unfortunately, we were not selected or cast onto the previous season of The Amazing Race.
