I’ve been contemplating male! Boa Hancock (mostly because i just want to, but also because the entire “all-female” premise of Amazon Lily irritates me) and I just had a thought.

The dichotomy of the two men who love fem! Luffy that made me chuckle

Kid: feral, junk, gremlin man who probably uses phrases like “LMAO”, “YOLO” and “YEET” in IRL conversations

Hancock: literal Adonis, ruler of his own island, walks and talks like prince, becomes a flustered mess when Luffy even glances at him

I was thinking... If Opla ever makes a couple canon (or even an unrequited feeling) what would It be?

Oda said no romance between the Strawhats, but - as already happened with Usopp and Kaya - It doesn't mean they can't have flirts or something with other characters.

Some thoughts:

I know One Piece it's not a romance and It works perfectly like this, but I think the point of doing a TV show is also adapting the story to a larger target than the animanga one. A shonen has rules and love stories are not important, but I think making a TV show for Netflix also means add something new that can be catchy for the new target and add a love story could be something. Netflix audience requires romance!

I personally think Oda himself at some point had to face the fact that his audience was bigger and more diverse that 12yo boys, so he started to add love stories in the backstories (especially after the timeskip) and even gave a-kind-of-girlfriend to Sanji (of course It ended badly but, at least, he had a kiss! First kiss for the Strawhats, hooray!)

So what now with Netflix?

Of course I don't talk about canon married couple like anyone parents or Kin'emon and Tsurujo etc. but I mean main/important characters and the possibility to see their relationship developing in front of our eyes.

The Proposal - LuHan version

It's very silly, but it was very fun to make, specially Hancock's expression! 🤭 Love this two and their dinamic, they're so sweet.

I love to imagine a few years after Luffy becomes pirate king, in one of the visits the strawhats pay to Amazon Lily, Hancock would ask Luffy to marry her like she always does and everyone (including her) would be like "oh, poor Hancock will get rejected again" and OUT OF NOWHERE Luffy would accept it, because why not? And that's how they would get together and start a family in the most random way lol
