Part 2 of checking out my new CODE drumheads. This time I kept the CODE Nicko McBrain Boomers head on the snare and changed to CODE Generator for the toms. The sound is less vintage and more versatile which is in demand for a lot of current productions. I love both combinations (check out the first video. Camerasound only!).

Hyperfixate on Ethan Torchio’s Kit with Me !!🥁

Ludwig Vistalite Drums in Black Sparkle/Smoke ~ $3000 + Ludwig Legacy Mahogany Drum Shells

This was his primary kit during the Loud Kids Tour, but Ethan also used clear Vistalite drum shells often.

The two microphones marked with blue tape are Shure SM57 Cardioids ~ $99 each (he uses three typically)

Centered is a Ludwig 9 in x 13 in Rack Tom.

At chin height on the right is a Sabian AAX Crash Cymbal ~ $329

The small black drum attached to the front of the kick drum is actually a microphone: Yamaha SMRM100 Subkick ~ $419

Inside the kick port is a Shure Beta 52A Microphone ~ $199

Inside the kick drum (not visible) is a Shure Beta 91 Half-Cardioid Condenser ~ $249

Between Ethan’s legs is Ludwig Black Beauty 6.5 in x 14 in Snare ~ $699 It’s the only non-Vistalite drum in his kit.

At Ethan’s hip is a Roland Tm-6 Pro Drum Trigger Module ~ $899

On the far left are Sabian HHX Hi-hat Cymbals ~ $599

Upper right corner is Sabian 22” HHX Omni Ride Cymbal ~ $579 This cymbal changes positions but it’s always on his kit.

Ethan recently added a 14 in x 14 in Floor Tom, as shown in Modern Drummer.

Ethan uses Vic Firth American Classic Drumsticks - $15/pair

Ludwig Drums is immensely proud and delighted to announce that Ethan Torchio, drummer with international rock sensations and Eurovision 2021 winners Måneskin, has signed as a Ludwig global artist.

20-year-old Ethan who first signed as a Ludwig Italia artist in 2018 at 17 years of age, plays Ludwig’s Vistalite drums. Now as a new global artist he hopes to use this opportunity to inspire existing young drummers and encourage aspiring drummers around the world.

Måneskin started out busking on the streets of Rome, then in 2017 rose to fame after coming second on Italy’s version of the TV talent show X-Factor. They have since become the most successful rock band in Italy’s history, with a host of chart-topping album and single releases worldwide, which have earned them a staggering 25 Platinum discs! 2021 has seen the band’s most successful year to date, after winning The Sanremo Music Festival and Eurovision 2021 with the song ‘Zitti E Buoni’.

Since he was a small child, it was clear Ethan possessed a natural sense of rhythm. He began to explore jazz at an early age but it was when he discovered "The Police" that Stewart Copland became his main influence.

The Ludwig Team states, “We are proud and delighted that Ethan Torchio continues to choose to play Ludwig Drums and has signed as a Ludwig global artist. Ethan’s passion and devotion for drums is equally matched by Ludwig’s and being just 20 years old and playing for such an increasingly successful band as Måneskin, we look forward to working together to inspire the next global generation of drummers”.

Ethan states, “It is an honour to have the prestigious opportunity to officially become part of the superb Ludwig family, whose drums represent for me the sound that I have always sought in the process of musical creation.Words aren't enough to describe my happiness, so I'll wait for the music to speak.
