So I guess it’s technically a list right now of the top 20, lol. But if you had hours and hours to spend listening to me talk, it would turn into my top 100. And a lot of those would be ocs that I would have to give in-depth explanations for.

To tell you the truth, I love all my muses. All 800+ of them. There’s such a wide variety of personalities among them, and it’s a lot of fun jumping from personality to personality. I mean, I do kind of have a bit of a type, I guess? With the cunning manipulators and criminal masterminds, and the occasional murderers (Aaravos, Scar, and Kizami being good examples of that, as well as Envy) but then I’ve also got the happy good boys, the himbos, the chaos gremlins, the brooding loners, the socially awkward ptsd victims, the shameless flirts… Like I said, it’s a variety of personalities.

TIMELINE

Put under the cut due to length. Please note that I do not recognize Eve as Selene’s daughter, unless lengthy plotting has been done between myself and an Eve’s mun.

DECEMBER 22 1383 - Nagy Selene is born to parents, Nagy Sándor and Csilla, and sister, Nagy Cecilia (11). Her father is an architect, quickly gaining popularity due to his likable personalty and grand structural visions. 

AUGUST 13 1387 - Cecilia is married to a blacksmith, Kardos György.

SEPTEMBER 18 1388 - Cecilia gives birth to twin daughters, Margit and Orsolya, making four-year-old Selene an aunt.

APRIL 20 1392 - György��is attacked and killed in the woods on his way to collect firewood one evening. Widowed, Cecilia and her daughters return home to her family. It is unknown at this point what killed György, though fear inspired suspicions of vérfarkasok, meaning werewolf,  among the village.

JULY 3 1392 - A war general by the name of Viktor hires Sándor to design and aid in the construction of a fortress. The desired location of the fortress requires the Nagy family to move, though Viktor provides them with accommodations on the outskirts of the land. Over the next few years, Selene will spend much of her time with her father as the fortress is built, exploring the grounds with her nieces.

FEBRUARY 12 1393 - Selene meets the war general, Viktor, who takes an immediate interest in her. He is kind and Selene, innocent and curious, is receptive to the conversations he engages her in when he often comes to check on Sándor’s progress.

JUNE 11 1402 - Almost exactly ten years after Sándor is hired, the war fortress is finished. In order to keep the location of it a secret, Viktor orders the Lycans to slaughter the Nagy family, save for Selene who he “rescues”. 

JUNE 12 1402 - Viktor turns Selene, following a convoluted history and reveal of his species, the Vampire. Though she is stunned and fearful, she knows she is alone and has grown to love and trust Viktor over the years as another paternal figure. 

NOVEMBER 3 1408 - Selene is recruited and begins training to be a Death Dealer.

1408 THROUGH 2002 - Over the next 600 years, Selene will remain loyal to Viktor and the Vampire’s Old World Coven in Szentendre, Hungary. She will become one of the strongest and most skilled Death Dealer. The war between Vampires and Lycans continues.

APRIL 22 2002 - Selene discovers a Lycan lair while on a hunt and shares her findings with Kraven, a council member, who denies such a claim. Elder Amelia is due to arrive and awaken Elder Marcus; meanwhile, Selene elects to do her own research and discovers the Lycan’s hunt for Michael Corvin.

APRIL 23 2002 - Selene assaults medical student, Michael Corvin, in his apartment to get information before being interrupted by the Lycan team assigned to retrieve Michael. During an attempt to escape, Michael is bitten by one of the Lycans only to be rescued by Selene and taken to the Old World Coven’s mansion.

APRIL 24 2002 - Selene realizes that the Lycan who attacked Michael is Lucian, believed to have been dead for centuries. In need of guidance, but against the Chain’s laws, Selene awakens Viktor ahead of schedule and flees the mansion with Michael. She locks him away in a safe house and returns to the mansion, where she is berated by Viktor for waking him and kept locked away in wait for judgment of her actions. Meanwhile, Amelia and her envoy are killed upon their arrival by a team of Lycans.

APRIL 25 2002 - Michael is abducted and taken to the Lycan lair, where he is found to be the carrier of the rare Corvinus strand gene, which the Lycans have been searching for in order to build a stronger defense against the Vampires. During this time, Selene is broken out and leads a team to the Lycan lair, where she rescues Michael. As they try to escape, they are confronted by Kraven, who is in love with Selene. Kraven, in his jealousy, attacks and nearly kills Michael before telling Selene the true story of Viktor, how he had her family killed, and how the war truly started because of the enslavement of Lycans and Lucien’s forbidden relationship with Viktor’s daughter Sonja. It is Selene, at the suggestion of a dying Lucian, who bites Michael and makes him a Hybrid, both Vampire and Lycan in one. As Michael turns and regenerates, Selene is able to confront and defeat Viktor.

APRIL 26 2002 THROUGH MAY 6 2002 - Selene and Michael are on the run from both Vampires and Lycans, due to Michael’s abominable nature as a Hybrid and Selene’s treachery to her species. During this time, Marcus has awoken and somehow become a Hybrid himself, and is also hunting Selene and Michael for a medallion they took from the dead Lucian. In her search for Marcus’ reason for his hunt, Selene comes to learn that his father, Alexander Corvinus, was the true first Immortal, not Viktor as she had previously been lead to believe, and seeks him out. While she confronts Alexander, Marcus appears and kills Michael. Now seeking revenge, Selene drinks Alexander’s pure blood, which awards her greater strength and the ability to walk in sunlight. Stronger and more capable than before, Selene hunts down Marcus and kills him, with Michael’s help, who had regenerated and was reborn because of his Hybrid blood.

OCTOBER 2002 - The world has been made aware of the existence of Vampires and Lycans and is in the process of exterminating the species. In an attempt to escape before the Purge, Michael and Selene are apprehended and captured by Antigen.

JUNE 2016 - Selene wakes from cryogenic suspension and escapes the facility where she has been held captive. She discovers that Antigen, the corporation that held her for 12 years, has been working on an antidote for the virus that creates Vampires and Lycans. Soon after her escape, she begins experiencing visions, which lead her to David, another Vampire. They are suspicious of each other at first, but Selene learns that David seen Michael, who had escaped Antigen before Selene. With David’s help, Selene goes in search for Michael. In the process, she defeats and kills the director of Antigen and his son, who were both Lycans all along.

JULY 2016 - Because of her blood’s amalgamation of Vampire, Lycan, and pure Immortal blood, Selene is now hunted once again by both Vampires and Lycans. At the same time, she is still searching for Michael. Marius, a Lycan leader, wants Selene’s blood to become stronger and able to defeat the Vampire clan. Semira, a Vampire council member, also wants Selene’s blood to overtake the Vampire coven and exact revenge for the murder of Viktor, who she was also close with. Semira’s ruse to bring Selene in and take her blood works, but she is not able to kill her when David rescues her. From there, Selene and David travel to the Nordic coven, Var-dohr, where they learn that David is a direct descendant of Amelia and rightful heir to the Eastern Coven. Lena, daughter of the Nordic coven’s leader, teaches Selene about the Sacred World, which gives additional knowledge and power beyond that of the Waking World. It is then that Marius’ clan attacks Var-dohr and Selene is seemingly killed by Marius. Lena and David find her body and proceed to send her to the Sacred World. While she heals, David returns to the Eastern Coven to reveal his true identity and arrest Semira for her treason. When Marius and his clan attack the coven’s fortress, Selene, revived and empowered, returns with the Nordic coven to aid in the fight. During her fight with Marius, she is told that Marius killed Michael Corvin and has kept his blood to retain his Hybrid strength. In her grief and rage, Selene kills Marius. With their leader defeated, the Lycans retreat.

JULY 30 2016 - Accepted once again by the Vampire Coven, Selene becomes a Vampire Elder, alongside David and Lena. 

NOW - Selene remains an Elder, traveling between the Eastern and Nordic Covens and imparting her esteemed combat knowledge to a new horde of Death Dealers.

Ma zár be a Magyar Nemzeti Galéria ideigelenes kiállíása, ami Londoni iskola festőitől hozott néhány képet Budapestre. Lucian Freude miatt mentem és nagyon megérte.

Elég jó válogatás.

Nagyon örültem, hogy ezt élően láthattam. Egészen nagyszerű, amikor az ember közelebb léphet hozzá és minden egyes részletét megnézheti ennek a kétségbeesett neurotikus arcnak. Ez Freude felesége volt, nem rég házasodtak a  kép készítésekor viszont rá néhány hónapra el is váltak. Legjobb élmény a kiállításról.

Mindenhol ezzel a képpel reklámozták a kiállítást és nem véletlenül. Egyszerű de nagyszerű kép. Érdekes volt, hogy elég nagy képnek hittem, erre kiderült, hogy alig 40 cm-es.

A víz mindig a kedvenc témáim közé tartozott, mert olyan különleges anyag, hogy igazándiból csak a lényegét lehet megragadni tökéletesen lefesteni nem lehet. Tehát vizuális szimblumokkal, trükkökkel, okos megfigyelésekkel kell visszaadni mi is az a víz.

 Egy kocka jól körülírható. Tízszer tízszer tízcentiméter, kilencven fokos szögben álló élek. Gyakorlatilag kész van. A víz geometriája ezzel szemben nem ilyen egyszerű. A víz egy változó. Olyan mint az x vagy az y egy másodfokú egyenletben. Mindig csak egy másik anyag viszonyában ábrázolható, hiszen átlátszó és a felveszi a ‘tároló edény’ alakját. Ezért apró megfigyelések, kis részletek furcsa foltok  jelenségek teszik lehetővé a víz ábrázolását. Laikusként ezt gondolom de igazándiból ovóda óta nem festettem vízet. Mindegy is a lényeg, hogy nagyon szép ahogy  a férfi lába a vízben úszik.

The Deer Park , Michael Andrews,  1962 A kiállításon volt egy külön terem ahol a festők a baráti társaságok dinamikájával foglalkozó képeit mutatták be. Ez a kép volt a kedvencem a válogatásból. Először ez se nyűgözött le, de aztán rájöttem mennyire zseniálisan mutatja be egy külső résztvevő szemszögéből az ilyen baráti összejöveteleket. 

Sok elmosódott arcfoszlány, alak. ‘Nem emlékszem rájuk, pedig ott voltam’ esete. Egy férfi arcának a fele mintha rémlene, talán éjfélkor volt. Egy lány ruhája és rúzsa. Ok ez meg szokott lenni de nem érdekel. Nem ez a lényeg hanem az az egy furcsa arc, amiről az egész este szólt. Persze sok minden történt  de annak az embernek az a furcsa arckifejezése, amit nem tudok kitörölni a fejemből, amire nem lehettt nem figyelni.

Michael Andrewsnál nagyon tetszett az is, milyen jól érzékelteti a teret, és minden tér színes nála. Ez a tér érzékelés is nagyon valóságos valahol.

The Wedding, R. B. Kitaj,  1989-1993 Ez a kép ott helyben se volt rossz de nem igazán tetszett. Ezek a furcsa színek, amik nekem a Bau Hausból voltak ismerősek,  valahogy nem működnek. Láttam velük zseniális megoldásokat de  valahogy most nem.  A valóságban az egész kép sokkal zavarosabbnak tűnt. Monitoron még tetszik is.

Fun fact: rajta van David Hockney is, szerintem az a szőke szemüveges  lehet jobb oldalt.

  Amikor 1859-ben egyesült Havasalföld és Moldva, ez a románok lakta terület felét sem foglalta magában, Erdélyben és a többi, később elcsatolt területeken viszont csak minimális többséget alkottak; s többnemzetiségű terület volt Dobrudzsa és Bukovina is – írja Lucian Boia román történész Románia elrománosodása című kötetében, amelyben azt fejtegeti, hogy

  Románia sosem volt az az egységes nemzetállam,

amilyennek a nacionalista kommunizmus alatt láttatni akarták és amivé tenni próbálták. Boia magyarul megjelent köteteit az 1918-as román egyesülés jubileuma kapcsán szemlézzük, hisz a Románok nem Trianontól tartják az övéknek Erdélyt, hanem 1918-tól.

  „Miután oly sokáig mások uralma vagy befolyása alatt álltak, a románok olyan Romániát akartak létrehozni, amely valóban az övék”, s ennek lett eredménye a regionális különbségeket mellőző, egyetlen Románia – fejtegeti a sztártörténész. Bár igaz, hogy 1912-ben az akkori Románia lakosságának 93 százaléka volt román a népszámlálás szerint – viszont Boia szerint ez így nem igaz, le kell vonni belőle 4-5 százalék cigányt, 1 százaléknyi moldvai csángót, a Duna mellékén élő bolgárokat és szerbeket, a zsidóságot, s így a románok aránya 85 százalékra csökken.

  Boia rámutat: „eredetüket tekintve a románok sem voltak olyannyira románok. Az arisztokrácia vegyes volt, akárcsak a javarészt a városi lakosság”. A nagy arisztokrata családok görög és balkáni eredetűek voltak. A román elit pedig könnyedén sajátította el a külföldi modelleket. Hozzáteszi: Vitéz Mihály, a román nemzeti hősként tisztelt fejedelem görög anyától született, és a görög hatás 1821-ig meghatározó volt.

  Ugyanakkor a hosszú távú nemzeti projekt egyértelműen az volt, hogy a nemzeti kisebbségeket elrománosítsák. A román nyelv elsajátítása és a hazafiság minden nemzetiségivel szemben követelmény volt és maradt.

  Az első világháború végén Romániához csatolt területeken – Besszarábia, Bukovina és a tágan értelmezett Erdély – 4-4,5 millió román élt, arányukat tekintve azonban alig voltak többen a lakosság felénél. Mint Lucian Boia írja: Erdélyben 2 millió 817 ezer román élt az 1910-es magyar népszámlálás szerint, a románul beszélők a régió 53 százalékát tették ki. A magyarok 31 százalékot képeztek, a németek pedig majdnem 11-et. A román történész szerint

  a magyarosítás sikeres volt a dualizmus időszaka alatt, de a románok úgyszintén sikeresen ellenálltak.

„Naivak lennénk azonban, ha azt képzelnénk, hogy »az egységes román nemzetállam« legfőbb gondja a kisebbségek védelme lett volna. Ez esetben különös összeférhetetlenséget állapíthatnánk meg magával a »nemzetállam« fogalmával. Legelsősorban Románia elrománosítását tervezték, egy olyan országét, amely a nemzetállam ideális feltételeihez képest túl sok nemrománt számlált, és idegen hatások sokaságával szembesült éppen a hozzácsatolt területeken”

–  fejti ki a szerző, rámutatva: „a modern demokrácia szempontjából sok tekintetben modellértékű Franciaország elnyelte kisebbségeit”.

  Lucian Boia leszögezi: az elrománosítás egyik fő eszköze az oktatás. A felsőoktatásban például a kolozsvári magyar egyetemet és a csernovci német egyetemet „egyik napról a másikra románosították” annak idején. A magyarok és a németek egyébiránt, a közoktatást tekintve saját felekezeti iskoláikat részesítették – és, tegyük hozzá, a magyarok részesítik ma is – előnyben.

  Boia kijelenti: „A központosító és egyneműsítő politika mindig is a liberális kormányzások idején teljesedett ki. Az 1923-as alkotmányban is az »egységes nemzetállam« kifejezés tulajdonképpen a Nemzeti Liberális Párt műve.” Sőt:

  „Bárhogyan is nézzük – kiirtás vagy asszimiláció – a magyaroknak el kellett volna tűnniük”.

De az elrománosító politika szerinte kudarcot vallott. „A kisebbségeket nem kezelték egyformán. Erdélyben a magyarok nyilván ellenségként tűntek fel. Sokkal jobb besorolásban volt részük a németeknek, akiknek megbocsátották egykori arroganciájukat (a románságnak sokáig csak a szász várak falain kívül volt szabad letelepedniük) – mindezt elismert civilizációs szerepük és a románok és magyarok közötti egyensúlyteremtő helyzetük miatt.”

  A magyarok száma is drasztikusan csökken: 1977-ben az erdélyi magyarok 1 millió 670 ezren vannak, 1992-ben 1 millió 624 ezren, (eközben a románok száma 19 millió 207 ezerről 20 millió 408 ezerre nőtt), 2002-ben 1 millió 431 ezer, 2011-ben pedig már csak 1 millió 227 ezer magyar volt Romániában. A magyarok 1930-ban még az összlakosság 10 százalékát tették ki, 2011-ben pedig csak a 6,5 százalékát. És ez csak azért van így, és nem rosszabb, mert a kivándorlás a románokat is erősen érinti.

  Tízévente átlag 200 ezer magyarral van kevesebb Erdélyben – írja Lucian Boia.

A román nemzeti mítoszokat romboló, a román történelemmel őszintén szembe néző történész sajnos a magyarok számára is kiábrándító adatokkal szolgál.
