Ancient Hero’s mask pt. 1

A lil comic about ancient masks… and curses. While the Ancient Hero’s Aspect armor is super handy upgraded, why he gotta give me that thousand yard stare?

I thought it would be fun to put a little spin on how the item might be used in a real life function sort of way, and seeing as form changing masks of lost spirits already exist in Majoras Mask, why not make the Aspect behave the same? The three parts of the decorative belt make up an owl, a dragon, and a boar, symbols of the Triforce’s virtues, so because it’s the hero I went with the dragon face as the mask design!

Featuring the fit I mostly wore for Link, as I found the Cap of the Wild early by complete panic induced accident and refused to take it off the rest of the game. Everything dyed black or grey for color coordination of course (I’m bad at color matching, it’s why I never color my lineart lol)

The Aspect itself is an interesting design for sure. Perhaps some kind of zonai or hybrid? Who knows. Maybe he’s an evolved mogma

Whatever he is, I doubt the citizens of Hyrule would recognize Link (less than they already do). There’s room for shenanigans there!

Bee that first chapter was just so amazing, it kept staying on my mind until i drew it. I love love the idea that Time doesn’t really remember Captain, and Wars doesn’t recognize his little buddy 20+ years later. I love that mystery element. Beyond the comedy of everyone in the group believing themselves to be the only mortal person in the group, I absolutely love the vibes around Time. He IS Time itself and its really good!!!! His natural Strangeness is so good, and it’s half heart-warming half terrifying how much he admires Warriors and genuinely thinks he is the protector of all soldiers and patron of battle.

I’m so proud of the baby especially. I gave Fierce unicorn hair just cause I can, he deserves it. I love his stupid sword that makes no sense. If a 10 ft tall guy with unicorn hair and a glitter sword showed up I’d be so scared. His sword isn’t glittery in game but I do what I want.

the original draft was super desaturated with a really yucky pallet, and I was kinda digging it, but with Fierce’s sill my sparkly hair the desaturated panel didn’t look purposefully yucky anymore and just normal yucky, so I added a little more color.

super mild totk spoilers >>> when I found Link's hairband in Zelda's secret study I had this headcanon that she helps him tie his hair all the time 😭 and that he loves the feeling of someone playing with his hair but is too shy to tell her... so they just have this lil routine.

LINKTOBER DAY 20: ZORA WELLSPRING

Sidon plays packhorse. Link and Zelda play with electricity and water. Everybody leaves happy except for the fried aerocuda.

When i posted this i said I don’t like it but I think I was just feeling down, this isn’t that bad haha (I think the fish didn’t turn out how I wanted them which was irritating me)
