Can we see a time when reader is pregnant and really struggling maybe when she is pregnant with baby Hunter and also having to take care of rowdy toddlers who are clingy and energetic as well and it being a harder pregnancy in general. Maybe reader is struggling to take care of everything and letting herself take the back burner and she is so tired all the time because she isn’t taking care of herself. Reader doesn’t want rafe to worry so she doesn’t tell him what’s going on. Rafe being the amazing husband he is can totally see reader is struggling and maybe a little something how Rafe scoops in and takes care of his #1 girl
sahm!reader is really struggling during your third pregnancy, but blue collar!rafe is there for you!
cw: cussing, mentions of pregnancy issues/complications

you couldn’t remember the last time you’d sat down and just… breathed. it was late afternoon, the sun slipping through the kitchen windows in long golden streaks, but it didn’t feel warm. not to you. it felt heavy. like everything else lately.
the house was cluttered—not dirty, but lived-in—the kind of mess that never really disappeared when you had a toddler, a preschooler, and a baby on the way. toys were scattered under the coffee table, tiny socks balled up in the hallway, sippy cups abandoned in corners you couldn’t even remember passing through. your back ached in that deep, stubborn way that only came from pregnancy. the kind of pain that didn’t let up, even when you sat down. especially when you sat down. baby hunter was heavy today, low in your belly and pressing hard against your spine, like he was trying to make himself known from the inside out. and your feet—swollen, hot, pulsing—were shoved into mismatched socks because you hadn’t had time to do laundry that week. or the week before.
wren had cried off and on for hours, clinging to your legs, screaming anytime you tried to put her down. emmett had thrown a fit over his grilled cheese, insisting he wanted it cut into triangles instead of squares even though you’d literally asked him five minutes before. and hunter… well, he’d been kicking the hell out of your ribs all day like he was mad too.
you were touched-out, burnt-out, and completely drained. but you didn’t say anything when rafe called during his lunch break and asked how things were going. you didn’t complain when he texted to say he’d be late getting home. you didn’t say a word when he walked through the door and didn’t kiss you like he usually did, didn’t notice how tired your eyes looked, didn’t see the way you were barely holding it together.
instead, you got the kids fed, bathed, and tucked into bed without help. you cleaned up the kitchen. you wiped the counters. you sat down for the first time that day, pressed your hands to your lower back, and tried not to cry. but when your body finally gave out, and you curled up on the couch, just done—that’s when rafe walked in.
he didn’t say anything at first. just stood in the doorway for a long moment, watching you. you didn’t notice right away. your eyes were closed, your breath soft, your body limp in a way that was too still to be peaceful. but the second he took a step closer, he saw it—the puffiness around your eyes. the streak of dried tears on your cheek. the way your hands stayed curled against your stomach, like you were holding yourself together out of instinct.
something in him cracked. he didn’t ask questions. he didn’t need to. he moved slowly, carefully, like he was afraid you’d shatter if he moved too fast. he knelt beside the couch, reached up, and brushed his thumb across your cheek so softly it made your breath hitch. your eyes fluttered open, glassy and unfocused. “hey, baby,” he whispered, voice so tender it almost made you cry again.
you opened your mouth to say something, but nothing came out. he didn’t need you to explain. didn’t want you to. he just pulled you into his arms, cradled you like you were something delicate, and let you fall apart right there in his lap. his chest was solid and warm against your cheek, his hands strong and steady as he rubbed your back and kissed your hair. “you don’t have to do it all,” he murmured into your hair, voice thick with guilt. “you hear me? you don’t have to hold the whole damn world together by yourself.”
you shook your head, choking out something between a sob and a laugh. “i didn’t want to bother you. you already work so hard…”
he pulled back just enough to look you in the eye, his thumb wiping another tear from your cheek. “and so do you,” he said firmly. “more than anyone. you’re the one raisin’ our babies. keepin’ this house runnin’. growin’ our son inside you while takin’ care of everyone else. and…i know i haven’t been around helpin’ the way i should.”
you sniffled, lips trembling. “i’m just… so tired.”
he kissed your forehead. “then rest, mama. i got you.” and that night, he did. he scooped you up, took you to bed, helped you out of your clothes, and ran you a warm bath with that lavender oil you liked but never used on yourself. he sat on the edge of the tub while you soaked, rubbing your calves and kissing your swollen belly like it was the most important thing he’d ever done. when you got out, he helped you into the comfiest pajama shirt you owned—his—and tucked you into bed with fresh sheets, a cold glass of water, and a plate of toast just in case. “i’m gettin’ up with the kids tomorrow,” he said as he slid in beside you, wrapping his arms around your waist. “and you ain’t doin’ a damn thing but rest. i’ll take care of everything.”
you turned your head, looking at him through tired eyes. “even the laundry?” you teased weakly.
he grinned, already kissing your shoulder. “even the laundry. even the dishes. even wren’s freakout when you don’t cut her sandwich right. all of it.” you closed your eyes, your whole body melting into the bed. and as he pulled you closer, hand splayed over your bump, he whispered one last thing before sleep took you completely:
“you’re the heart of this family, baby. don’t you ever forget that.”

Metalhead!König at a festival
Tis the season – Festival season – SFW and NSFW
More Stuff in the Masterlist
(cw: alcohol/drugs, semi-public sex, smut, MDNI 18+)
On the way to the festival, I’m living the best passenger princess life, sitting beside him, navigating the GPS, feeding him snackies (he loves little brezels and gummyworms) and most importantly DJing the whole time while driving to the festival. Songs of all the bands we want to go see live are blasting from the speakers and when I start to sing along, König chimes in.
He has an old VW van T4 that he rebuilt himself, so that the back of it actually transforms into a quite comfy bed, one that even accommodates his size.
The trunk of the van is filled with gear and gadgets, there's nothing that he didn't think about.
A plastic pavilion to get a little bit of shade in the blistering summer sun. A camping table and two chairs (even though I don't know why he bothered to get me my own because he always coaxes me to sit in his lap) ((maybe that's why we have a second one because I don't think the small thing can withstand our combined weight for long)). A portable sound system. A bunch of hardware tools, a camping cooker and some equipment for it. Like for example the little espresso can because even at a festival the big guy needs his proper coffee (and not some kind of "instant crap" – his words).
At least I could hold him off from bringing our own beer tap because that would've been ridiculous.
And of course, he brought a grill, he would've even brought one if it weren't allowed.
I mean, he's Austrian and even though the neighbors from Germany are much more known for their fondness for grilling as soon as the temperatures rise over 10 degrees celsius, he still loves it.
I'm just rolling my eyes and laughing when he starts to light the coals pretty early in the morning. But I'm not complaining because he chooses to do so shirtless, showing off his broad muscled chest and the plethora of tattoos on his torso.
The black cargo shorts are hanging low on his hips, the belt holding them in place, the waistband of his boxershorts showing a little bit which accentuates the V of his hips. And don't even get me started on the happy trail leading down.
I'm ogling him shamelessly, sitting in my chair and making some coffee on the burner for us.
(He's also wearing some of his old combat boots, and he reassured me that the weird looking stains on them aren't actually blood. (I still don't believe him))
He looks like such a metalhead dad as he's standing at the grill, a beer in hand and just happily humming along to the melodies blasting from the speaker.
It makes me happy to see him like this because I don't know much about his work, he rarely talks to me about it and it has to be a burden, but right now he seems like he doesn't have a care in the world.
I catch him grinning at me, shaking the almost empty beer can and downing the last bit. I giggle, jump up and go get him a new one from the little freezer box.
With two fresh cans of beer, I stroll over to him, handing him one. His arm wraps around me and I can already see the mischief sparkling in his eyes as he's looking down on me. "Ex oder Franzos.", he tells me, taunting me. (He told me once what this means ‘either down your beer or you're french’ which apparently is an insult?? I don't know what the Austrians are on either)
"Nooo, I’m not gonna shotgun with you right now.", I wail.
"Oh, come on, it's just one beer.", he grins at me.
I put my hands on my hips, looking up at him all scolding. "Well, maybe one beer isn't a big deal for you, big guy." He just laughs and nonetheless drinks half his beer with one big gulp, the little show-off. Ever since he knows what a lightweight I am, he likes to tease me about it. Stupid big tall man.
The sun shines down like crazy which gives me the opportunity to apply sunscreen too him as often as I can.
"I get the feeling you're not doing this for the well-being of my skin.", he tells me, sideeyeing me while my hands move over his shoulders and pecs, making sure every inch is covered.
"I don't know what you mean.", I answer innocently, making him pull his hair out of the way with a nod, and moving on to his tattooed back, skimming over the smooth skin with my fingertips, massaging over the tense muscles.
When I'm finished, finally having applied enough sunscreen on the huge man, he snatches up the bottle, puts a little dollop on his hands and goes straight for my boobs.
"We can't have you getting a sunburn either!", he explains with a serious expression on his face while he shamelessly kneads my bikini-clothed breasts, in the name of sun protection.
Food in the stage area is expensive but that doesn't stop him from buying me everything I think looks good. I need to actually hold him off from getting another portion of the little pancakes because I'm so full, I feel like bursting and I still wanna be able to mosh.
"But what about some ice cream?", he suggests, pointing at a little cart in the vicinity. "It might help us cool a bit down."
I tilt my head to the side, thinking about it, but only for a moment. "Okay, I think there still is room for some ice cream.", I agree and we make our way in the direction of the ice cream vendor.
“Oh, wait, we need to get more water!”, I yell out as I see the water station. I pull him with me by his hand, filling our water bottles and then taking off my shirt to wet it.
“Now, what is this? Wet t-shirt contest?”, he asks with a dirty smile on his face, his eyes travelling down my body.
“Yeah, you wanna join?”, I ask him wiggling my brows, which makes him laugh and shed his shirt in a second. He lets water run over it as well and then wrings the shirt out over his body, the water dripping down his pecs and abs, and I can’t help but stare with a slack jaw. He laughs again when he sees the expression on my face, but he puts the shirt back on.
He pulls me into him, pressing a little kiss to my temple, our wet clothes sticking together. “Come on, let’s get you that ice cream, sweet cheeks.”, he says, giving my ass a few loving pats.
We try and go to as many bands as possible which is becoming quite the workout for me. By midnight my feet are already hurting like crazy and I make the mistake of mentioning it to König because he demands to carry me now. After some discussion, we come to the agreement that a piggyback ride would suffice.
So now I'm clinging to König's back, my muddy shoes dirtying his pants with the way my legs are hugging his hips. His arms are reaching back, the hands crossed under my ass supporting my weight.
Festivals can get pretty filthy but that doesn't stop him from trying to get into my pants. The solution to the filthyness? Going showering.
Most of the festivals I've ever been to don't actually separate between men's and women's shower, so that's not an issue when we slip into one of the cabins together. Still, some people around gave us funny looks.
It gets crowded in there even for two people, especially if one of the two is König. I press my body against his and squeal as he turns on the shower and we get doused with an icecold spray.
He just laughs, not fazed by it at all – duh, but I am someone who german-speaking would call a 'Warmduscher' (someone who likes to shower warm, which is meant as an insult).
His mouth finding mine shuts me up and wandering hands get rid of the dirt and grime on our bodies. I'm still washing away soapy suds while König's caresses drop lower and lower until his fingertips stroke over my pussy, finding my clit. I shoot him a look like "Seriously?! Right here and now?", but the corners of my mouth curl up. The knowing expression on his face doesn't waiver while he draws circles on the sensitive spot, getting me wet and needy for his fingers to slip inside me.
I hold onto him, my hands digging into his shoulders, as he pulls up one of my legs and finger-fucks me. The cold water is forgotten by now.
The palm of his hand pressing against the soft mound, stroking over the clit with every push inside me. His fingertips reaching that certain spot, brushing over it repeatedly, which has me gasping for air in no time. “Ja, fuck, come for me.”, he whispers against my lips. My thighs start to tremble, and moans escape my throat.
“You need to shut up, Liebes, or the people around us will know.”, he grunts, letting go of my leg and clasping the hand over my mouth to muffle my sounds. The realization that there’s other people in the cabins beside us, that the stalls aren’t anywhere near a soundproof barrier, that someone will probably hear the lewd sounds, the realization sends a zap of tingly arousal down my spine. His fingers move faster, hitting me deep inside, and I come around them screaming into his palm.
When my orgasm fades, I snuggle into him, and he holds me up pressing soft kisses to the top of my head and my face. He takes the camping bath towel he brought (you know, the ones that are microfiber and dry really fast? Of course, he has stuff like that) and starts to wrap me in it.
“Wait, what about you?”, I ask, still panting a bit, aware of his hard dick pressing against my belly.
“You’re already shivering wia a Lampe Schwoaf (like a lamb’s tail), we need to get you into the warmth again.”, he says, rubbing me down with the towel, the strokes of his big hands and the fabric tickling me a bit, which is making me giggle.
He leans down a bit, getting to my legs as well, still drying me off, and his eyes find mine, arousal and need glinting in them, a smirky grin forming on his face. “And don’t worry, I’m gonna get my fill of you later.”
In between bands, we’re sitting on the lawn, a little bit away from the stages. The sky is tinted in a rosy-orange blush, blending into the dark of the night that’s about to come. Even when I’m sitting on his thigh, I almost have to tilt my head back to look at him. He sees my little stare and smiles. “What?”, he asks.
I don’t break eye contact as I shake my head. “Nothing.”
“Nothing?”, he asks, seeming a little loopy.
I shrug, the smile on my face only getting wider. “I’m just happy to be here.” My hand reaches up to boop his nose, and the look on his face when he goes cross-eyed makes me laugh. “With you.”, I add, still giggling, feeling silly and honestly – a little lovey-dovey.
His smile matches mine as he grabs my face with his hand and plants a big kiss on my lips. “Me too, du Scherzkeks.”, he mumbles against my lips. (literally 'joking cookie', meaning jokester)
Straightening back up again, he eyes the joint in my other hand. “You still smoking that?”, he asks.
I shake my head and hand him the roach. He takes it and puffs the last bit of weed, inhaling deeply, holding in the breath. Before he can exhale, I grab his face with both my hands, pressing my lips to his. He chuckles, deepening the kiss, letting out the smoke as his tongue brushes against mine, and I taste him and the grassy fume.
We’re still sitting in the same spot an hour later, giggling with each other, sharing the biggest portion of fries we could find, while we listen to the music blasting from the stage speakers.
When we're back at the van, I fall into the mattress, bury my head into the pillow and groan as my body relaxes into the softness. My god, I will never be able to sleep on anything less comfortable when at a festival.
König's chuckle behind me makes me aware before his hands grasp my hips and pull them upwards. He pushes my pants down and his mouth into my pussy. I gasp into the sheets gripping them, squirming against his tongue, when he sloppily licks me, lapping at my wetness, dipping into my ass as well, until I’m making a total mess on his face.
He gets greedier, pulling out his dick and fucking me from behind, his fingers digging into my hips. The pace he’s going at makes the whole car shake, and somebody passing by could notice, but I'm counting on the darkness to conceal us, to hide what we're doing in the back of the van, especially when he flips us, and I’m on top now.
He's splayed out on the mattress looking up at me, satisfied smirk and hooded lids, as he grabs my wrists, securing them behind my back, and tells me to ride him. I whine and moan a little while I start moving up and down his length because the muscles in my legs are already aching from all the dancing, jumping and moshing, but his dirty ramblings spur me on: "Fuck, you feel so good, just like that." and "Harder, ride me harder." and “Ah, scheiße, i- that’s it, good fucking girl.”
He lifts up my shirt with the other hand and brings the fabric up to my mouth, gesturing me to bite into it. He pulls down the bikini top I’m still wearing underneath, freeing my boobs.
"Hm, such a little slut, getting fucked in the back of a van.", he murmurs, his eyes glued to my bouncing titties, while he fucks up into me, hitting spots deep inside me that pull obscene sounds from my throat. The little bit of fabric between my teeth can't damp them down. I try to hold onto the last bit of sanity, but then he pinches my nipple, hard, the sensations flowing over me, and I come on his dick, straining against his hold on me, shuddering while the orgasm wrecks through me.
My thighs are pressing together and König’s hands are the only thing that’s holding me up. While I’m still coming down, he pulls me against him. I sigh snuggling against his chest when he rolls us over.
“Oh no, Liebes, we’re not done yet.”, he chuckles, pushing into me again, his lips finding the sensitive spots on my neck.
A little ray of sunshine falls on my face through the window of the van, the early morning light making me open my eyes. I try to move to escape the brightness, but I can’t move my body. I turn my head and open my eyes, seeing König’s arm and legs draped over me, the big hand splayed out over my belly. Well, that explains it. The big guy is still sleeping, the soft sounds of his breathing filling the space around us. He’s facing me, a relaxed expression on his face, his brows that always seem to be furrowed turned up a little bit. I don’t think I have seen him this peaceful yet.
My lips curl up into a smile and I reach out, cupping his cheek, softly stroking over his jaw, because I can’t help myself. Normally he shaves pretty often, a habit he picked up at the military, but somehow, he’s still always wearing a 5 o’clock shadow. Right now, the beard has developed into more of a longer stubble, a few grey hairs in between. And it looks good on him.
Suddenly he’s stirring in his sleep, his lids fluttering as he groans, the big hand moving up to his face to rub the eyes. A little huff escapes my nose and I greet him with a “Good morning, sleepy head”. He groans again because he can be a little ‘Morgenmuffel’ (a little grumpy in the mornings), but opens his eyes to look at me.
“Why are you so cheery this morning, hm?”, he asks me, still blinking the sleep away while a sly smirk is forming on his face. “Oh yeah, that’s right because I fucked you seven ways to Sunday on this mattress.”
I roll my eyes, but I can’t help the little grin on my face. “Yeah, yeah… If I can’t walk to the stages today, it’s your fault, old man.”, I taunt him.
His eyes light up with playful threat and he grabs me, rolling onto me. I yelp and giggle as his full body weight presses me into the mattress. “Keep running that mouth, Fräulein, and I’m gonna make sure of that.”, he says, his words a dirty promise.
a/n: this should have been a quick little fun drabble, but I got carried away - ah well, it happens <3

What do you want?
Ford! Reader
A/n: I am alive!! I know I haven't posted a story in almost a year, but I managed this one! I have some ideas to pull out of my head but it might take a while. Thank you to everyone who has been enjoying and supporting my stories. You have no idea how much it mean to me.
cw: Beaten up Eliot, a client in a bad relationship
Tumblr media
The end of the day finally came. A day of dealing with screwed up supply orders, a chef being cut so badly they had to go to the hospital, and a dead car battery needing to be jumped by a coworker, it was finally time to go home.
So when the last door was locked, and the car was leaving the lot, I could finally relax and not have to wait for another shoe to drop.
I lock my car in the driveway, and dragged my self to my apartment door, locking it behind me, then kick my shoes of by the door.
I drop my purse the side table and take off my coat to hang on it's hook, shaking of the rain that started on the ride home, before head to my bedroom to get a change of clothes before I take a long, hot shower to wash the day away.
Once I'm done and dressed in comfy clothes, I head to the kitchen. I fill my water kettle, then place it on a burner to heat.
I turn to look through the fridge, then the cupboards, then the fridge again for something to snack on, but nothing seems to spark my interest, even though I can't remember when I last ate, so I decide on something simple.
I pull out some of the grapes I had in there and some cheese slices. I grab a box of crackers then begin making a small stack of cracker, cheese, and a grape. I pop the stack in my mouth as the kettle begins to whistle.
I turn off the burner, then grab my favorite mug and tea, and pour the hot water, enjoying the smell waft through the room.
I continue eating in peaceful silence while my tea steeps.
A knock on the door breaks the quiet.
I turn to check the time on the clock. 12:09. Who in the world could be at the door at this time of night. They should be in bed asleep, hell, I should be in bed.
I walk over to the door, stepping around my shoes. I look through the peephole to see Eliot soaking wet in a dark jacket and knit hat, and face swollen and bruised.
I step back from the door unlocking it it quickly before I opened it.
"Eliot? What the hell happened? You look like you got his by a buss."
He blinks. Then shakes his head.
"More like a army." He chuckles, then gestures to his head. "Probable concussion. I shouldn't be alone right now, and thought maybe I could spend a few hours with you?"
"Eliot, what are you doing here? Shouldn't you be in a hospital resting?"
" I don't do hospitals."
I sigh, grab his hand to pull him inside, close the door behind us, and drag him to the living room.
"Do you need anything? Ice? Food?"
He shakes his head gently as he sits on the couch, leaning his head back to rest on the back of the couch. I sit of the coffee table in front of him, a hand resting in his knee.
"Eliot, when was the last time you ate?"
He's quite for a moment, then shrugs.
" Right," I sigh as I stand, holding a hind out for him to take, " I'm gonna make you something to eat, and I do expect you to eat it, then you are going to get some rest. Here on the couch, or the spare room, your choice."
He places his hand in mine and I pull him to his feet, then lead him to the kitchen, making him sit at the small table in the corner.
"Sit here. I want to keep an eye on you."
I don't give him time to protest before moving about the kitchen, and begin pulling out ingredients for a grilled cheese from the fridge and cupboard, setting them on the counter. Getting my favorite pan from is hanging spot, and placing it on the stove.
I slice some cheese and butter two slices of rye bread, then place the cheese down on one slice, and the second piece on top. I place the sandwich on the pan and ignite the stove, turning it to low.
I let it cook while I mix up a mug of tea for Eliot. Getting it just right before placing it in front of him.
I smile at him, then turn back to the stove and flip the grill cheese over, the pan sizzling as the butter hits the pan.
I turn back to face Eliot sitting at the table. His hands wrapped around the mug, eyes closed. I take in his appearance, one eye is swollen shut, and a bruise blooms on his cheek.
I turn back to the stove and shut off the stove and place the sandwich on a plate.
"Eliot, what happened?" I ask, as I walk to table and set the plate in front of him.
He looks at me, then let's out a sigh and begins telling me in between bites about the latest job, helping a young mom leave her abusive husband, who had ties to some powerful people. And they had kidnapped the woman's little boy, and he and Parker went to get him.
"Was getting beaten to a pulp part of the plan?" I ask him as I take his hand in mine.
"I can take the punishment." He squeezes my hand slightly. "It was my job to retrieve her kid. It's what I do."
We sit in silence, hand in hand, until he grumbles.
"I like your way of distracting guards much better." He rasps.
"Me too," I smile. "Not as painful."
" I don't think Nate would agree." He chuckles.
" My dad knows I am a grown woman, and can do want I want. Besides, I saved that job."
"Yes, you did."
A long moment passes before I speak.
" You haven't come around since that job." I rub his knuckles, focused on a small scar near his ring finger.
" I've been 'round. We've seen each other -"
" Yes, but-" I interrupt, then hesitate.
"But what?"
I take a deep breath.
"But you haven't been here." I gesture to my apartment as I stress the last word. "You haven't come over to cook together, or watch a movie, or listen to me rant about co-owning a restaurant. You have barely looked me in the eye since then.
"And I know you guys have jobs, and that the world doesn't revolve around me, but we kissed, El. Once here, in my kitchen, and again on that job. And I would do it again if you wanted to."
I take another breath after my small rant at him. He still just sits, in his chair, Stoick as ever.
I let my body deflate at his silence. I release his hand, then stand up and head to the stove and to the pan I left there, now cool enough to handle.
I turn on the water and soap the sponge. I wash the pan, then set it in the drying rack. I wash the other items I used, that add them to the dryer.
"I don't want to mess things up. I don't want to mess with the team, or you." He explains. "I haven't had anything serious in a long time."
"You're serious about me?"
"As a heart attack," his voice has a laugh behind it, but then his tone changes. "But I don't think Nate would approve."
I turn to look at him. He's looking at the table, picking at his fingertips.
"What does my dad and his approval have to do with you and I?"
"He knows me," He sighs out. "He knows some of my past and-"
He stops, looking away from me.
"Eliot I don't care about your past. With women or the jobs you've taken. I am much more interested in a future. If that's what you want."
We sit there in near defining silence.
"Eliot what do you want?"
He finally looks at me, his face full of emotions.
"You." He grumbles. " For as long as you'll have me."
"You have me." I whisper.
He takes a deep breath, nods to him self, then places his hand on the table and stands up.
He rounds the table towards me, his steps full of purpose.
He walks up to me, his body is close enough to mine that I can feel the heat radiating from him.
"Will you, Miss Ford, go on a date with me?" He whispers.
"Yes," I whisper back.
"Can I kiss you?"
I nod.
He cups my face in his hands, leans in and presses a sweet kiss to my lips.

Cheesin and Grillin
Tumblr media
Kotaro Bokuto x reader
Prompt: 🎶+ kitchen
~After a productive afternoon, you are happy to make up some grilled cheese for two
W.C: 2k+
A/n: this is a prompt from an old event I wanted to finish so I hope you guys enjoy!
Tumblr media
You're not sure how it happened, but today has transformed from a leisurely day off into a hard-core cleaning day. Maybe the urge to clean everything in sight came in with the breeze that danced through your open windows, Or maybe you just felt like it because, for the first time in weeks, you have had nothing to do and a decent chunk of alone time.
It's not that your apartment is messy, but you and Bokuto have busy lives and many responsibilities. Responsibilities that take precedence over wiping down the shelves of your refrigerator and all those extra deep cleaning tasks that you aren't able to get to on an everyday basis.
A citrus-scented candle flickers in the corner of the room as you listen to your playlist over a little speaker. The flames seem to dance to the beat of your favorite songs. These songs may not be the most popular, but they are your favorite to listen to in the judgment-free moments that solitude can bring.
Your music is rudely interrupted by the pinging of your phone over the speaker. It pings again and again and again as you are bombarded by eager, loving text messages from your boyfriend, who must be done with his volleyball practice. You weren't expecting to hear from him so soon, when he left earlier this morning, he told you that his team was having a photo shoot for their new merchandise and he wouldn't be back until later.
Hey, hey, hey!!!
Guess what babeeeee??
Photo dude bailed and now I am freeeee
Coming home now!
Let's eat lunch together!!!
You snort as you read his string of messages. If they were sent by anyone else, you're sure that all of that information would be in one text. But not Bokuto. He wears his heart on his sleeve and sends his texts as soon as they enter his head. It's great that the two of you get to have a spontaneous lunch, but you can't help but feel a bit worried. Your boyfriend has an incredible appetite and will definitely need to eat something filling to fuel him after his intense practice session.
Making a meal for one is one thing; when you're cooking by yourself, it's easy to just get by taking handfuls of whatever sounds good. But lunch for two people requires cooking; it requires ingredients.
Ingredients that you might not have. These past few weeks have been so busy that neither of you has been able to go to the grocery store.
The linoleum floors of your kitchen have never looked shinier as you leap over the remaining streaks of water the mop has left behind to get to the now sparkling refrigerator.
Flinging open the door, you admire your handiwork. There is not a streak of stray condiments or puddles from a leaky takeout box in sight. Save for a few groceries, it looks almost completely empty.
Just as your stomach begins to rumble…
I guess Kotaro isn't the only one who's hungry.
You stare blankly into the fridge, enjoying the sensation of cold, lemon-scented air on your warm skin. Aside from a few condiments, there isn't much food to choose from, but what catches your eye is a block of cheese and the last half of the sourdough loaf your coworker made for you.
"Grilled cheese?" you say aloud, reaching for the two components. The idea makes you suddenly remember that you have a can of tomato soup in the pantry that you can heat up to make the meal more satisfying.
The bread is beautiful; its crust is a rich golden brown, and the inside looks like lace. You have no idea what your friend did to make such a perfect loaf of bread, but you know how heavenly it will taste once you toss it in a pan with some cheese.
With your fav on the way home, there is no time to lose. You remove a cutting board and pan from the drying rack and get to work. You set the pan on the stove and crank the burner to low as you begin slicing up your bread and cheese, making sure to nibble on a few of the not-so-perfect slices of cheddar goodness as a reward for all your hard work.
As the pan's temperature slowly climbs, you smear one side of the freshly sliced bread with some overpriced artisanal garlic butter that Kotaro bought last week for its cool packaging.
As soon as you assemble your sandwich ingredients and place them on the pan with a light sizzle, Your boyfriend bursts through the door like a happy hurricane.
"Something smells good in here, and it sure isn't me," he exclaims, smelling the masterpiece you have been creating.
His wild golden gaze scans you as he haphazardly tosses his gym bag on the floor. When he sees you, His smile is instant as he runs towards you and scoops you up with ease, peppering your face with kisses. "Ahhhh y/n! I missed you so much." He cries dramatically, his voice slightly panting from his barrage of kisses. "I feel like I haven't gotten to talk to you in forever."
"I missed you too, Bo," you say, leaning in and giving him a light kiss of your own. "But I'm glad you were able to come home early today."
"Right? Me too. The minute they told us we could go, I was out the door." His eyes are fixated on the pan as he picks off a piece of frying cheese with his fingers as he continues, "I almost ran over Omi with my car when I was pulling out of the parking lot because I was so excited, we never get to have lunch together like this so I am super excited."
"And was he mad?" you ask, watching him unbothered toss the fried cheese into his mouth with his usual unfaltering smile.
"I don't know, I was too excited to see you." if this man had a tail, it would be wagging up a storm right now. Suddenly, you both notice that a new song is playing through the speaker.
"Hey hey hey! this is that song you like, right ?" He asks with a grin. He sets you back on your own two feet and reaches a muscular arm over to the window ledge to crank up the speaker's volume as loud as it can go.
Grabs both of your hands. "Come on, babe, let's go crazy."
His energy is infectious, and you find yourself dancing along with him and belting out the words. You're not surprised that he took the time to learn every word to your favorite song, that's just the kind of man he is. He knows that when you care about something, He wants to care about it, too.
He spends on the beat, grabs a spatula off the counter, and starts singing into it like it's a microphone. When you're with him, it's easy to get swept up in his carefree silliness, and soon, the two of you are screaming along to the music like the fools in love you are.
Everything is perfect.
Until…
The chalky scent of smoke floats under your nose. And the spell is broken, your microphone is once again a spatula and the grilled cheeses you were making are smoking. Your eyes shoot open in a panic as you look across the kitchen at the pan you had left unattended. You rush over to the sandwich halves and flip them over in hopes of salvaging something edible.
But your efforts are in vain, the grilled cheeses are absolutely charred, inedible. Not even Bokuto would eat this mouthful of ash.
The smoke alarm, just your boyfriend's spiky black and white head, blares loudly/a painful noise, causing him to cry out in pain as he raises his large palms to his ears.
Damn it. All you wanted to do was make some grilled cheese, and now your kitchen is hazy with smoke, and the alarm is so loud you cannot hear yourself think.
"Don't worry, babe, I got it." He yells, sensing your distress. The athlete rushes around your apartment opening windows and turning on fans to try and clear out the smoke. But when the alarm continues to go off, he grabs the bottom of his shirt and pulls it over his head.
He swings the garment rapidly above his head like a helicopter, and you can't help but admire his well-built physique; he's not just strong; all those hours in the gym have him looking like he was just carved out of marble. Although you have seen him shirtless countless times, the beautiful sight never fails to bring a flustered heat to your skin.
You are so focused on the extroverted artwork in front of you that you don't even realize that the smoke alarm has long since quieted.
"Hey hey hey, it looks like someone likes what they see." he laughs, suggestively wiggling his thick eyebrows at you. He flexes just a tad more just to tease you before putting his shirt back on.
With that wonderful distraction taken care of, you returned to your task at hand. Disposing of the lumps of charcoal that were supposed to be grilled cheese sandwiches. Your face falls as you look at your ruined lunch, unable to look at the monstrosity any longer; you pick up the still steaming pan and walk it over to the disposal, a heartbroken expression on your face as you mourn the loss of the bread. Maybe one day, your pal will make you another loaf, but at this point, do you deserve it?
"Wait," Kotaro says, suddenly holding out his hands. He is looking at you with the same expression he makes when his team manager pulls him away from signing autographs for starry-eyed children. "Don't look so sad y/n, I don't want your hard work to go to waste. I'll still eat it."
He reaches his hand to the skillet, ready to pretty much eat ash to make you happy, but you laugh and dispose of the 'sandwiches' before he attempts to poison himself.
"You're so sweet, Kou, but these sandwiches are ruined, and there's not much else in the fridge." you frown as you try to think of a backup plan. There's an overpriced market on the corner, you could run down there and just grab something for you two to eat and then go to your usual grocery store after?
But there is something so disheartening about going to the store twice in one day, it seems like a waste of a trip.
Although he may not be the sharpest tool in the shed, your boyfriend's eyes light up. "I have an Idea, come with me." He bounds over to you eagerly and tosses you over his shoulder. ""I'm gonna take you out on a lunch date and then we can spend the rest of the day doing whatever you want." He is so excited about getting to spend the day with you he starts toward the door without keys, wallet, phone, shoes, or anything else that you need to leave the house.
"Wait, Kotaro. Let me down for a second," you squeal, a gleeful smile on your face. "I need to put on my shoes first if we are gonna go anywhere."
"Oh, right." he chuckles, setting you down gently. "Sorry, I guess I was getting ahead of myself again; it's easy to get carried away when I am carrying you."
You chuckle at his cheesy declaration as you lace up your shoes. Today's errand date will probably be anything but ordinary, but with Bokuto, you find yourself embracing the good-natured chaos that seems to follow him everywhere with the same love that you have for the rest of him.

Los Angeles smelled different.
Back in Seattle, the air was damp with rain, laced with the sharp bite of gasoline and coffee. Here, everything was drier, hotter—like a sunbaked concrete jungle mixed with car exhaust, grilled meat, and something vaguely metallic from the kitchen vents.
Duff McKagan had only been in LA for a few weeks, and the reality of it was setting in fast: dreams didn't pay rent. He needed money, and fast, which was why he was standing in front of a steakhouse instead of playing bass in some dingy club.
Black Angus wasn't exactly where he pictured himself when he decided to move here, but his brother, Bruce McKagan, had a job lined up for him—but not on the dining room floor. Oh no, his day-glo blue hair was too distracting. Duff's new job: dishwasher. It wasn't glamorous, but neither was being homeless.
With a long, deep breath, Duff pushed open the heavy wooden double doors and stepped inside.
The noise hit him first—forks clinking against plates, the low murmur of conversation, waitresses calling out orders. The kitchen, partially visible from where he stood, was alive with movement: flames flaring up from the grill, line cooks moving in a well-rehearsed dance, the clatter of pans slamming onto burners.
And then—
"Look who finally showed up," a familiar voice called.
Duff turned as Bruce emerged from the kitchen, wiping his hands on a rag. His older brother was dressed in the standard manager get-up: button-up shirt with the sleeves rolled, hair slightly disheveled, expression hovering between amused and vaguely exasperated.
"You look a bit lost," Bruce smirked.
"Just taking it all in," Duff said, shoving his hands into his jean pockets.
Bruce clapped a hand on his shoulder. "Welcome to the glamorous world of dishwashing, little brother."
Duff snorted. "Yeah, can't fuckin' wait."
Bruce grinned and jerked his head toward the back. "Come on, I'll introduce you to everyone."
The kitchen was hotter than the front of the restaurant, thick with the smell of butter, charred meat, and something greasy sizzling in the fryer. Steam curled from the dish pit where another worker was elbow-deep in sudsy water, stacking plates onto a drying rack.
"Alright," Bruce said, steering Duff past the prep station where a guy with a cigarette hanging from his lips was aggressively chopping onions. "That's Tony—he preps in the afternoons and works the line at night. Don't piss him off."
Tony didn't even glance up from his cutting board, but he grunted in acknowledgment.
Bruce continued walking. "That's Manny on grill, Paula on fryers—"
The introductions blurred together, a mix of names, faces, and brief nods. The kitchen was a well-oiled machine, and Duff was pretty sure he was about to be the next wrench thrown into it.
And then—
"This is Cynthia."
Duff turned, and for a second, the noise of the kitchen faded into the background.
She was leaning against the counter near the order window, flipping through a notepad, her pen tapping absently against the stainless steel. Her blonde hair was pulled into a loose ponytail, a few strands escaping to frame her face. She had a sharpness to her—something about the way she carried herself, like she had everything handled and didn't need anyone's help.
When Bruce said her name, she glanced up, her brown eyes flicking toward Duff for the briefest moment before dropping back to her notepad.
"Cynthia," Bruce said, "this is my brother, Duff. He's the new dishwasher."
She gave a small, barely interested nod. "Cool."
Duff felt like he should say something—anything. "Uh, nice to meet you."
"Yeah, you too." She didn't look up.
Bruce smirked. "If you have any questions, ask me or Cynthia."
At that, Cynthia finally looked at Duff properly. Her gaze wasn't unkind, just assessing—like she was trying to determine if he was worth acknowledging.
"Just don't get in my way, and we'll get on fine," she retorted.
Then she was gone, striding toward the dining area, already focused on something else.
Duff exhaled. "She's... efficient."
Bruce snorted. "Don't take it personal. She's been here a while—knows this place inside and out. You? You're just another new guy."
"Right. Another dishwasher she won't remember by next week."
Bruce clapped him on the back. "That's up to you, kid."
Tumblr media
Dishwashing was exactly as awful as Duff expected.
The sink water was too hot, the plates were crusted with food that had no business existing, and the steam from the dish machine made everything feel soggy. His fingers were already bright red and pruny, his arms sore from scrubbing.
Still, it wasn't the worst part.
The worst part was Cynthia.
Not in a bad way—just in a distracting way.
Duff caught himself watching her more than once, though he tried to be subtle about it. She was quick on her feet, moving between tables and the kitchen with practiced ease. Her voice cut through the noise whenever she called out an order or shot back a sarcastic remark at the cooks.
Cynthia was confident. Unshakable. Completely at home in the chaos.
Duff, on the other hand, was struggling to keep up with the never-ending pile of dishes.
At one point, Cynthia came back to the kitchen to grab a refill. On impulse, Duff decided to try and talk to her.
"So, uh... Cynthia, do you like working here?" Duff liked the way her name felt in his mouth—soft but steady, like a melody that stuck even after the song was over.
She barely glanced at him as she filled a glass with Coke. "It's a job."
"Right." He scrubbed at a stubborn stain on a plate. "Seems kinda crazy."
She let out a dry laugh. "You should see weekends."
Duff smiled, encouraged. "Guessing it's not your dream job either?"
"Dreams don't pay rent."
He hesitated. "Yeah, but if you could do anything else, what would it be?"
For a second, Cynthia looked at him like she might actually answer.
Instead, she grabbed the drink and walked off.
Duff sighed. Strike one.
Tumblr media
By closing time, Duff was exhausted. His back ached, his arms were sore, and his shirt was damp from the heat of the kitchen.
Meanwhile, Cynthia, looked as composed as ever. She was leaning against the counter, talking to another waitress, her laughter carrying over the low hum of the closing shift.
Duff didn't realize he was staring until Bruce walked up beside him.
"You survived," Bruce said.
"Barely."
Bruce halfheartedly chuckled. "You'll get the hang of it."
Duff rubbed the back of his neck. "Place is busier than I expected."
"You should see Saturdays." Bruce glanced over at Cynthia, then back at Duff. "What do you think?"
"About what?"
Bruce raised a confused eyebrow. "The job."
"Oh. Uh—yeah. It's fine." Duff paused. "It's work."
Bruce studied him for a second, then shook his head, amused. "Right."
Duff wasn't sure what Bruce was implying, but he didn't ask. Instead, he stretched, rolling out his sore shoulders.
Across the room, Cynthia grabbed her denim jacket, slinging it over one shoulder effortlessly. As she turned, the dim dining room light shined a few pins fastened to the fabric—one of them the unmistakable winged logo of Aerosmith. The red and white design was a little faded, edges worn like it had been there for years.
Duff's lips quirked slightly. Aerosmith. He wouldn't have pegged her as a fan, but then again, he didn't know much about her—not yet.
She disappeared through the door without a second glance.
But he had a feeling he'd be learning soon enough.

I feel compelled to share my recipe for easy and awesome ramen here
Behold, Ender's 5-minute spicy peanut and ginger chicken ramen!
This is super low on spoons, uses common pantry items, and doesn't take much extra effort if you already make ramen on the stove top, so I really recommend it! If you have limited mobility, you can prepare this entire thing sitting down, as well.
Ingredients:
- chicken ramen from your favorite cheap brand as long as it's the packets and not the cups
- peanut butter (optional if you have an allergy!)
- sriracha sauce (there is also ginger sriracha sauce out there, so unless you want extra ginger, dw about the next ingredient)
- powdered ginger
- soy sauce
- bonus if you have it: chopped leftover chicken (breaded, grilled, doesn't matter)
Dishes required:
- a small pot and lid
- a bowl
- a fork or chopsticks
Instructions!
Fill your pot a little less than halfway with water (just enough to submerge the noodles). Then, put on the lid and turn on one of your stove burners to the highest setting and wait for water to boil (should only take a minute or two, you can chop your chicken here if you have it). Once it starts boiling, turn the heat down to half and put in your noodles.
Using your fork or chopsticks, take out a dollop of peanut butter and put it in the pot. It'll render down to peanut sauce! Skip this step if you're allergic to peanuts tho. I'd also add the chicken here so it gets nice and warm (if you have it, of course ^-^)
Now, break up your noodles and stir them around a little with your fork or chopsticks. When the mix starts to swell up a little and there's white, frothy bubbles, this is when you add the other ingredients, unless you want less broth. For less broth, put on the pot lid and strain out some of the water into your sink.
Now, add the seasoning packet, your preferred amounts of ginger, soy sauce, and sriracha sauce. Stir it in, turn off the heat, and pour the contents into a bowl.
Congratulations! Now enjoy your ramen :]
Feel free to share your thoughts on it, as well! It may not be as good as the grilled cheese recipe you may have also stumbled upon on here, but I love making it ^-^

Top Camping Stoves for Outdoor Cooking Mastery | Tested & Rated
Cooking in the wilderness—whether preparing a hearty stew over an open flame, grilling freshly caught fish beside a serene lake, or rapidly boiling water for a morning brew—elevates the camping experience from mere sustenance to a refined craft. As outdoor recreation flourishes in 2025, the ability to execute culinary tasks with efficiency and reliability amidst variable environmental conditions distinguishes the adept outdoorsman. The 7 Core Strong Fire Power Camping Stove, a portable gas burner delivering an exceptional 16800W output, emerges as a pivotal tool, engineered for rapid heat delivery and robust windproof performance. This article examines the scientific and practical foundations of outdoor cooking—thermal dynamics, environmental resilience, and operational precision—while evaluating the stove’s capacity to meet the demands of diverse wilderness scenarios. Through a blend of technical insight and field-tested strategies, we provide a comprehensive guide to mastering camp cuisine.
The Strategic Importance of a Camping Stove
In the context of wilderness survival and recreation, a camping stove serves as a critical nexus between raw provisions and nourishing meals, directly impacting both physical endurance and psychological well-being. Research from a 2023 outdoor recreation analysis indicates that 60% of cooking delays in the field result from suboptimal heat sources—insufficient power or susceptibility to wind—leading to prolonged preparation times and diminished fuel reserves. A high-caliber camping stove, such as this 7-core burner, mitigates these challenges, achieving a boil time of 1 liter of water in 1 minute and 40 seconds at 20°C. Its serrated pallet ensures secure cookware placement, while the stainless steel and copper construction withstands thermal and mechanical stress, offering a dependable platform for culinary execution across extended expeditions.
Thermal Dynamics and Heat Transfer
Effective outdoor cooking hinges on the principles of heat transfer—conduction, convection, and radiation—optimized through a stove’s power and design. With a peak output of 16800W, this burner surpasses the typical 7000-10000W range of portable stoves, enabling a thermal efficiency that reduces boiling times significantly; a liter of water reaches 100°C in under 120 seconds under standard conditions. The concentrated jet flame, facilitated by a cellular network structure, enhances conductive heat transfer to cookware, achieving approximately 80% efficiency compared to the 50% of diffuse flame designs, as noted in a 2024 thermodynamics study. The integrated flame adjustment knob allows precise modulation—from a low 2000W simmer for delicate sauces to a full 16800W boil—maximizing energy utilization across cooking tasks.
Field evaluation confirms its prowess: rapid water boiling for hydration or high-heat searing for proteins demonstrates a thermal profile that adapts seamlessly to culinary demands, supported by a durable core resistant to temperatures exceeding 1000°F.
Environmental Resilience—Conquering Wind and Weather
Ambient conditions pose formidable challenges to outdoor cooking, with wind being the primary disruptor. Winds exceeding 10 mph can reduce flame efficacy by 30%, extending cooking durations and fuel consumption, according to a 2022 field equipment assessment. Precipitation further complicates matters—1 mm of rainfall can lower pot temperatures by 5°C—while ambient cold below 40°F diminishes gas pressure, attenuating burner output. The 7 Core stove counters these adversities with a windproof stove design: its cellular flame concentrator sustains combustion in winds up to 15 mph, and a detachable windshield enhances thermal retention by mitigating convective heat loss.
Strategic placement amplifies this resilience—positioning the burner behind natural windbreaks, such as boulders or gear stacks, preserves flame integrity. The stainless steel resists corrosion from moisture, and copper ensures consistent heat conduction, rendering the stove a steadfast performer in adverse climates.
Fuel Optimization—Efficiency in Combustion
Fuel management is a cornerstone of wilderness cooking, where resource conservation directly influences mission duration. A standard 250g propane/butane canister, powering this stove at 16800W, sustains approximately 20-25 minutes of maximum output—sufficient for 10-12 rapid boils—based on industry combustion metrics. Reducing output to 3000W extends runtime to over an hour, ideal for prolonged simmering tasks. Environmental temperature affects efficiency; below 20°C, gas vaporization decreases by 10%, while excessive heat above 90°F risks canister over-pressurization. The stove’s copper core enhances combustion completeness, and the adjustable flame control minimizes waste by tailoring output to specific needs.
Operational testing underscores this efficiency: brief, high-intensity bursts for boiling conserve fuel, while steady low flames for stews extend canister life, ensuring sustained performance across multi-day outings.
Structural Integrity and Operational Setup
Stability and ease of deployment are paramount for a stove’s utility in rugged terrain. The serrated pallet design securely accommodates cookware ranging from lightweight kettles to 5-10-pound pots, maintaining equilibrium under load. The windproof configuration—cellular burner with optional shield—ensures operational continuity, while its compact 23.5 x 12.5 cm (9.25 x 9 x 4.92 in) footprint facilitates transport within the provided storage bag. High power necessitates careful site selection—placement on flat, non-combustible surfaces (e.g., rock or packed soil) at least 3 feet from flammable materials adheres to safety protocols established by outdoor regulatory bodies.
Practical application reveals a setup time of under 30 seconds—gas adapter connects, knob ignites—delivering immediate functionality. This portable burner balances robustness with accessibility, streamlining the transition from pack to plate.
Versatility Across Culinary Applications
Beyond basic boiling, a superior camping stove supports a spectrum of cooking techniques—grilling, simmering, and searing—adapting to diverse dietary requirements. At 16800W, it achieves searing temperatures for meats within 3-4 minutes, while a modulated 2000W setting sustains slow-cooked dishes over extended periods. The windproof feature enables consistent barbecuing in breezy conditions, and the copper core’s even heat distribution excels for frying applications. A 2023 survey of backcountry enthusiasts rated versatile burners 40% higher in user satisfaction, reflecting their capacity to elevate meal quality and variety.
Field tests affirm this adaptability: rapid pasta boils, precise fish grilling, and gentle soup warming showcase a stove that transcends single-purpose utility, enhancing the wilderness dining experience.

Why Concrete BBQs Are the Best Choice for Outdoor Cooking in Cyprus
Outdoor cooking is a cherished tradition in Cyprus, where families and friends gather to enjoy grilled meats, fresh seafood, and delicious vegetables under the Mediterranean sun. Choosing the right BBQ setup can significantly enhance your cooking experience, and Concrete BBQs have emerged as a popular choice for many households. In this blog, we’ll explore why a Concrete BBQ is the ideal investment for your outdoor space, offering durability, efficiency, and a touch of elegance to your backyard.
Durability & Longevity
One of the main reasons why Concrete BBQs are highly preferred in Cyprus is their durability. Unlike metal grills that can rust over time due to exposure to humidity and salty air, Concrete BBQs are built to withstand the elements. These BBQs are made from high-quality cement and bricks, making them resistant to heat, rain, and even strong winds.
Weather Resistance: Cyprus’ climate can be harsh, with hot summers and occasional heavy rains. Concrete BBQs remain unaffected, providing long-lasting performance.
Fireproof: Concrete naturally resists fire and high temperatures, ensuring safety and efficiency while cooking.
Low Maintenance: Unlike metal grills that require constant cleaning and anti-rust treatments, Concrete BBQs need minimal upkeep.
Superior Cooking Experience
Even Heat Distribution: The thick walls of a Concrete BBQ retain and distribute heat more evenly than traditional metal grills.
Enhanced Smoky Flavor: Since these BBQs can be built to include wood or charcoal grills, they provide a deep, authentic smoky taste to your food.
Versatile Cooking Options: You can customize your Concrete BBQ with different grill types, including charcoal, wood, or even gas burners.
Aesthetic Appeal & Customization
A Concrete BBQ adds a stylish and rustic touch to your outdoor space. Unlike portable BBQs that may look out of place, a Concrete BBQ can be designed to match your home’s aesthetics.
Customizable Designs: Available in various shapes, sizes, and finishes, a Concrete BBQ can be tailored to fit any garden or patio.
Built-in Storage & Workspace: Many Concrete BBQs come with additional space for food preparation, wood storage, and even a chimney for smoke control.
Adds Property Value: A well-built Concrete BBQ can increase the value of your home, making it a desirable feature for potential buyers.
Cost-Effectiveness in the Long Run
While the initial investment in a Concrete BBQ might be higher than a standard metal grill, it proves to be cost-effective in the long run.
No Frequent Replacements: Unlike metal BBQs that rust and need replacing every few years, Concrete BBQs last for decades.
Energy Efficient: Since Concrete BBQs retain heat well, they consume less charcoal or wood compared to metal grills.
Minimal Maintenance Costs: There’s no need for costly anti-rust sprays or special cleaning products.
Eco-Friendly Outdoor Cooking Option
Sustainability is becoming a major factor when choosing outdoor appliances, and Concrete BBQs align well with eco-conscious living.
Less Carbon Footprint: They are made from natural materials like cement and bricks, unlike metal BBQs, which involve industrial processing.
Fuel Efficiency: Wood and charcoal grills in Concrete BBQs burn more efficiently, reducing fuel consumption.
No Toxic Coatings: Unlike some metal BBQs coated with chemicals to prevent rusting, Concrete BBQs are free from harmful substances.
Perfect for Cyprus’ Outdoor Lifestyle
Great for Hosting Gatherings: Whether it’s a family barbecue, a summer party, or a festive occasion, a Concrete BBQ is perfect for cooking large meals.
Works in Any Setting: Whether you have a large backyard, a patio, or a terrace, you can design your Concrete BBQ to fit your space.
Ideal for Traditional Cypriot Recipes: From souvla to grilled halloumi, a Concrete BBQ is the perfect choice for preparing authentic Cypriot dishes.
Conclusion
If you’re looking for a long-lasting, stylish, and efficient way to enjoy outdoor cooking in KAMADO cyprus, investing in a Concrete BBQ is the best choice. With its durability, heat efficiency, customization options, and cost-effectiveness, a Concrete BBQ will serve you for years to come. Whether you love hosting BBQ parties or simply want to enhance your outdoor space, a Concrete BBQ is a fantastic addition to your home.

Eco-Friendly Outdoor Kitchens for Barrington Homeowners
As more homeowners become aware of the environmental impact of their decisions, creating an eco-friendly outdoor kitchen has become a popular trend. In Barrington, where outdoor living is a major part of the lifestyle, an eco-friendly outdoor kitchen not only aligns with sustainability goals but also enhances the value and functionality of your home. At Decked Out Builders LLC, we specialize in designing and building outdoor kitchens that are both environmentally responsible and tailored to your unique style. Here’s how you can create an eco-friendly outdoor kitchen in Barrington while reducing your carbon footprint and enjoying the beauty of nature.
1. Sustainable Materials for Outdoor Kitchen Construction
When designing an outdoor kitchen, one of the most impactful decisions you can make is choosing sustainable materials. Not only do they reduce your environmental footprint, but they also provide long-lasting durability—perfect for the unpredictable weather in Barrington.
Best Materials for Eco-Friendly Outdoor Kitchens:
Reclaimed Wood: Instead of cutting down fresh timber, reclaimed wood gives new life to old materials. Using reclaimed wood for cabinets, countertops, or accents in your outdoor kitchen not only adds character but also prevents valuable wood from ending up in landfills.
Bamboo: Bamboo is a rapidly renewable resource that’s strong, durable, and naturally resistant to moisture, making it a great choice for outdoor kitchen elements. Whether used for countertops, cabinetry, or flooring, bamboo is an excellent eco-friendly option.
Recycled Stone and Concrete: Materials like recycled stone or concrete are perfect for countertops, flooring, or walls. They are made from repurposed materials, reducing waste and providing a stylish, modern look for your outdoor kitchen.
Stainless Steel Appliances: Opt for stainless steel for appliances and hardware. Not only is stainless steel highly durable and resistant to corrosion, but it’s also recyclable, making it an environmentally friendly choice for your outdoor kitchen.
2. Energy-Efficient Appliances
When selecting appliances for your eco-friendly outdoor kitchen, it's important to choose models that are energy-efficient. In Barrington, where temperatures can vary significantly, appliances that reduce energy consumption while maintaining high performance are a must.
Energy-Efficient Appliance Options:
Gas Grills with High-Efficiency Burners: Look for gas grills that are designed to use less fuel but still provide powerful heat. High-efficiency burners not only minimize fuel consumption but also ensure a quicker cooking process, reducing your overall energy usage.
Solar-Powered Outdoor Lighting: Instead of using traditional electrical lighting, consider installing solar-powered lighting around your outdoor kitchen. These lights charge during the day and automatically turn on at night, saving energy while providing the perfect ambiance.
Energy Star-Rated Refrigerators: An Energy Star-rated outdoor refrigerator will use less energy to keep your drinks and food cool. By selecting energy-efficient appliances, you’re making an eco-conscious choice that benefits both the environment and your utility bills.
3. Water Conservation
Water conservation is an essential aspect of creating an eco-friendly outdoor kitchen, especially in areas like Barrington, IL, where water usage can fluctuate depending on the season. Implementing water-saving features in your outdoor kitchen ensures that you're using resources responsibly.
Water-Saving Features to Consider:
Low-Flow Faucets: Install low-flow faucets and water-saving dishwashers to reduce water consumption. These fixtures use significantly less water without compromising on performance, making them perfect for an eco-friendly kitchen.
Rainwater Harvesting System: If you want to go the extra mile, consider setting up a rainwater harvesting system to collect rainwater from your roof. This water can be used for irrigation, cleaning, or even in the outdoor kitchen, reducing the demand on municipal water supplies.
Drip Irrigation: If you plan to integrate landscaping around your outdoor kitchen, install a drip irrigation system to minimize water waste. Drip irrigation targets specific plants, ensuring they get the water they need without over-watering.
4. Eco-Friendly Landscaping
Landscaping is an important part of an outdoor kitchen’s design, and choosing native plants can further contribute to its eco-friendly appeal. Native plants are adapted to the local climate and require less water and maintenance, making them ideal for Barrington homeowners.
Eco-Friendly Landscaping Tips:
Native Plants: Incorporate native plants into your outdoor kitchen area to create a natural, sustainable environment. These plants thrive in Barrington’s climate and support local wildlife while requiring minimal watering and care.
Permeable Pavers: Use permeable pavers or gravel for pathways and patios around your outdoor kitchen. These materials allow water to flow through the surface, reducing runoff and promoting healthier soil.
Composting: Adding a compost bin to your outdoor kitchen is a fantastic way to reduce food waste and create nutrient-rich soil for your garden. It’s an easy and effective way to practice sustainability in your outdoor space.
5. Minimal Environmental Impact
An eco-friendly outdoor kitchen isn't just about the materials and appliances—it’s also about creating a space that minimizes its environmental impact overall. From choosing sustainable contractors to adopting eco-conscious design principles, you can ensure that your kitchen is a green space in every sense.
Green Building Practices:
Local Sourcing: At Decked Out Builders LLC, we prioritize sourcing materials from local suppliers, reducing the carbon footprint associated with transportation.
Energy-Efficient Construction: We use energy-efficient construction techniques that reduce energy consumption during the building process, ensuring that your kitchen not only looks great but is built with sustainability in mind.
