Recently re-read "American Gods" and am bored at work, so have whatever this is.

well i just remembered that Neil Gaiman named the character that was secretly Loki "Low Key Lyesmith" and i still didn’t even consider the possibility until the reveal

and sure i was like 17 which was more than half my life ago and Norse mythology wasn't nearly as pervasive but i did at least know about Odin and Loki before i started the book and maybe now that would be way too obvious but at the time it worked and it's good to remind myself that the average person won't be going to tumblr-fandom-feral lengths tearing apart every word

and that maybe the ones that do deserve a little treat 💚

and the ones that don't, but see it coming anyway? well. that never ruined a book for me.

This is not the first role in which i saw it, but it is surely one that marked me the most. Brady he's so precious, and i really wanted to know what had become of him after the episode of perception in which he appears...

2. Major Craddock (Westworld)

With this character, i resumed the viewing of Westworld. Yeah maybe craddock is a little piece of shit but please, have you seen his outfits, his walk, his ass...? Goergous

3. Low Key Lyesmith (American Gods)

Low Key was so creepy but so sexy. His smile, please... And it's was in this role i saw him first but yet the first time i saw him on the screen, the only thing i could tell my sister "Don’t you think he looks weird?" many years after, maybe 3-4 years, i was in love.

4. Frankie Ryan (City on Hill)

A father willing to do anything for his children, his wife and his little brother? What more?

First Kiss - Loki

"Didn't I tell you to never trust a Trickster." Mr World's form ripples, so unlike the way it usually pixilates. The slick facade fades to reveal the truth.

"L-loki?" You stammer.

"Who else?" He purrs. "Or have you forgotten me?" He teases. You fluster and shake your head. "Of course not." You mumble. A smirk tugs on Loki's lips. "Good." He cooes.

He extends a hand to cup your cheek. "I have come to claim what is mine." He whispers. Puzzled, you look up at him. "I am your Patron God. You are mine." Loki murmurs.

He closes the distance between you two. You close your eyes and tense up. You know what he will do. You are no fool. You still sort of startle when he kisses you. His lips are cold and somehow electrifying. It's like a tingle spreading from his mouth to yours.

He grabs you by the hips, pulling your body closer to his.

His mouth devours your. In the back of your mind you wonder how long he has been wanting to do this. Probably for a very long time.

So, after reading “Norse Mythology”, I’ve finally read “American Gods” by Neil Gaiman. It may seem that I was reading for a far too long time, but I have an excuse – after I’ve read about half of the book the quarantine started (spring of 2020, remember?) and I had a little marathon of Max Fry’s last series (which’s eight books long) and only after that continued with Gaiman. Taking that into the account you can guess that I didn’t enjoy the book too much and that’s true. For me reading it was quite a bumpy ride because there were pretty interesting parts – retrospectives about how gods arrived in the USA or the detective part (homage/parody for Stephen King) about Lakeside; but others – the whole mainline seemed like an absolute absence of actual plot to me. Maybe I just didn’t understand something important but throughout the whole book I had this feeling: “When will the action start?” What also occurred strange to me, is that a person who retold Norse Mythology in such a funny and brick way, could write a book about the war between ancient gods and gods of technology and media and make it so deadly serious. Or, another possibility it, that the satire and humour of the novel were just too clever for me. So, definitely not watching the series, getting back to reading “The Witcher”. P.S. Why Loki is a redhead?

Funny fact about me, when I first read American Gods by @neil-gaiman I read it in my head and despite my fair (though admittedly not excellent) familiarity with Norse Mythology I absolutely missed the connection that Low-Key Lyesmith was anything other than an incarcerated compatriot of Shadow Moon until later on, when I had a Big Surprise and Sudden Realization. It was delicious storytelling to me as a reader.

Fast forward to me reading the book out loud to one of my partners. He IMMEDIATELY heard the name and got excited for trickery to come, and I had to come to terms with the fact that he had not been had by excellent storytelling like I had, and I’m honestly still not over it.

☘ Tease him and he will hiss down at you in Gaelic, his eyes glaring in warning down at you.

☘ When the action starts, his hands are holding your head surprisingly tinderly, but his thrusts are anything but gentle.

☘ "Is this what you wanted?" He'd growl as you choked on him, tears rolling down your cheeks, and drool dripping from your chin.

☘ When you managed to moan in response he nearly lost it, the muscles in his thighs shaking a bit as he tried to hold back from cumming to soon.

☘ A cocky chuckle leaving him when your eyes practically rolled back in ecstasy.

☘ "Who knew you were so filthy." He laughed as you peered up at him with innocent eyes. "Just another thing to love about ya." He'd taunt before cursing under his breath.
