Imagine you live in a tiny coast town in idk fucking Georgia or something. Everything is fine and dandy but one day King Charles and the Pope publicly declare war on your town because the pope told him your mayor kidnapped Prince William. Then, you remember that one guy Will who showed up like four months ago and is pretty quiet and keeps to himself and doesn't do much besides sit in the fields all day. Everyone starts searching for him to get King Charles off your backs only to realize he has completely disappeared.

This also does absolutely nothing to explain why the Pope is backing King Charles, UNTIL you remember your Mayor's DA is actually the Pope's BROTHER who ran away because he didn't want to marry some random royal person he didn't know. Little do you know, that the rando royal is actually Prince William, who has been kidnapped for real this time- by the pope- but is being held in an underground bunker in the okefenokee swamp.

Anyways, you're trying to figure how the fuck your town of maybe 300-ish people is going to fight the british navy and fucking spanish inquisition. The mayor, handling this remarkably well, makes two phone calls. The first to the Mayor of Washington DC, who is lending you the national guard since your mayor saved him while he was being held captive by an anarchist terrorist group one time. The second is the governor of Louisiana, who agrees to lend some humanitarian aid because your mayor walked his daughter home after she got lost on a chicken farm once. Then, the pope decides to pillage and raze the fuck out of Louisiana, partly because they were offering to lend aid, but mostly because the pope knows the governor's son is your mayor's side piece.

Now, your tiny town is full of the national guard and 20,000 cajuns that are simply itching to terrorize some monarchists. Also that bishop that you were pretty sure was just spying on your town comes in and denounces the pope and offers to fight for your mayor. Lastly, your mayor meets King Charles and the Pope at the town limits, and the mayor, ever wanting peace, offers to marry the pope, who takes a confusingly long time to say no.

Then the battle happens and your army of the national guard and 20,000 cajuns absolutely rock their shit before things start to turn for the worse and just when all seems lost Prince William shows up and absolutely decks King Charles in the face, throwing such a legendary haymaker hard enough to be heard throughout the whole battle, ending the fighting instantly.

Childhood Headcanons— Beau “Cyclone” Simpson

Warnings: Mentions of alcoholism, abuse, parental abandonment, and parental death.

Authors note: These are my current headcanons for Cyclone’s background and childhood. Very loosely based on some of the headcanons I posted about a year and a half ago.

He's in his early 50s during TGM (roughly 53)

He's a January baby.

He had nightmares almost every night as a child, and even as an adult they've never quite gone away.

His parents are Cajun, and he spent the first decade of his life in south Louisiana.

His mom was a nurse and his dad was a Vietnam War vet who found work on shrimp boats and oil rigs.

His dad was violent man who spent every penny he earned on either alcohol and gambling.

Beau's mom left when he was 10, and he hasn't seen or heard from her since.

He hasn't attended Mass since she left.

His parents spoke Cajun French at home, but because of societal pressures and family matters Beau has almost entirely forgotten his first language.

His most prominent memory of the language is Fais Dodo, the nursery rhyme his mother sang to him when he was young.

His mom was deeply Catholic, and made sure to raise her son in the same faith.

The older he gets, the more he finds himself reciting his mothers' French prayers and nursery rhymes whenever he's overly stressed or nervous.

Shortly after his mother left, his dad moved them both to Alaska in search of work and to escape his gambling debt.

They settled in a small fishing community.

Beau was left mostly on his own while his dad was away working on fishing boats.

He went to high school in Anchorage, and quickly fell in love with sports.

He was scouted for both baseball and hockey, but ended up joining the navy when his dad passed away shortly before he graduated.

He inherited his dad's remaining debt (which he promptly paid off) and the tiny cabin and surrounding land in Alaska.

As bad as the memories attached to the cabin are, he's never been able to bring himself to sell it.

Rescue and Recovery

My father's partner was originally from Mandeville, Louisiana, a bit north of New Orleans. After Katrina hit, they packed chainsaws, other tools, fuel, supplies, etc in the farm pickup and headed that way. Based on his description, years later, they drove as far as they could, until the road was blocked with downed trees, then got out and just - started chainsawing. He was in his sixties, then, but very fit. I'm sure there were many other rednecks and hillfolk doing the same thing (not to mention the "Cajun Navy" in their boats.)

I am hoping that, in the days to come, there will be a similar response to the devastation of Hurricane Helene. Robust governmental aid, of course - but also that type of private citizen response. The news from down south just keeps on getting worse every hour.

Assorted Clay Calloway Headcanons:

He was born and raised in southern Louisiana.

His favourite color is navy blue and forest green depending on when you ask him (he gives everyone a different answer).

Being a huge prankster his whole life, he did get in trouble a lot when he was younger for said pranks.

He competes occasionally in a paintball league in Redshore under the name Ray Malloway (yes they all know it’s him, they’re just not paid enough to rat him out).

Clay’s a really good chef and cooks a lot of cajun and family recipes.

His love languages are gift giving and acts of service, so he will cook for people he cares about.

He sees Ash as a daughter and treats her like such, but will never admit it to her face.

On holidays, he sets out an extra plate in honor of his late wife.

Out of the troupe and their family members, he hangs out with Nana (they had run into each during their youth a few times since they were celebrities) and Marcus (he can relate the most to losing a spouse and can fix his bike for cheap). 

He used to call his wife Rose/Rosey after her favourite flowers.

Clay identifies as a bisexual trans man and was one of the most popular LGBTQIA+ celebrities in the 80s-90s.

He has all of his old stage costumes hidden in a box in his closet. Ash likes to tease him about some of them along with his mohawk phase. He does not appreciate all the photos of both of those things she keeps finding on the internet.

He can speak Louisiana Creole and English fluently, as well as Maori, his wife’s first language.

He will race Ash on their motorcycles whenever there’s free time, as well as taking her to paintball with him.

He’s the worst prankster on staff, constantly messing with the others and always getting away with it since Buster doesn’t believe the kids when they say it was him.

His favourite hobby is gardening and he spends a lot of his free time tending to his flower and herb gardens.

Clay’s favourite food is fried okra with spicy ranch sauce for dipping.

He honestly would have adopted Ash if Buster hadn’t the year before ,but he has taken over the role of her mentor from Nana, and she now is the only person in the world who can actually list themself as Clay Calloway’s protogé.

Clay proposed to his wife with a song.

He got the scars on his nose as a young musician, when he got into a fight with a group of people who were messing with a kid at one of his shows.

Crisis Update #9

Before the Storm

There has been a request for a recall election for the New Orleans Mayor, with Nagin (Current mayor) and Morial as the two candidates. Pelican Man is starting a clean-up initiative and announced a run for Louisiana Governor. There has been a day declared next week in memory of Katrina Victims. Governor Blanco has created a Task Force for her safety and is currently protected by Honore.

The Mississippi River randomly turned pink in parts of the river delta, sources found it was harmless pink food dye and wildlife and water quality are fine. Louisiana crops have been sent out and any crops bitten into have immediately frozen.

The sponge formally involved in removing water from a city block was removed by helicopter, but was accidently dropped into the lake causing a 4ft wave to hit the recently repaired levees. 4 inches of water seeped into the city.

Footage was leaked on myspace of a rouge alligator killing Gavin Thostle, but set-up surveillance footage (from directives) revealed that rat poison killed him and not the alligator. The area was immediately quarantined.

Criticism of the lack of action on how nuclear drones affect health was voiced but have been in the minority. Most have been applauding Thiel's funded Pathogen cure which was aided by the assigned federal aid money from committee. It is currently being distributed by Guidry and the health department along with more opiates.

After the Storm

Thankfully the storm veered into extreme southwestern Louisiana and only dropped a few inches of rain in New Orleans and minimal storm surge. Slight damage has occurred in the industrial canal, but efforts taken helped prevent any injuries and deaths. Overall in the city of New Orleans 5 injuries took place due to personal error. Major damages only occurred in places hardest hit by Katrina that had yet to be prepared.

However during the storm Garland Robinette secured control of the New Orleans Police, his motives are unknown at this time. The storm has caused minor blackouts, but major problems with the power grid involve a hostage situation until political corruption is addressed.

Satellite imagery from storm reveals the New Orleans mob and the Cajun Navy having conflicts in the Gulf. The Cajun navy has increased ships in the area.

The Cajun Navy is an excellent non-profit. They've given assistance to so many over the years. I first heard about them during the hundred-year flood in Southern Louisiana in 2016. Then they responded immediately to the hurricane that hit Houston and Lousiana in 2017 and really helped the Coast Guard and first responders who were overwhlemed. I'm sure they've helped many others over the years. If you can, please donate to them. I have had coworkers and friends who volunteer their equipment and time through the Cajun Navy to do some truly amazing work.

So I haven’t really been seeing folks talk much here at all about what’s been going on with Hurricane Helene recovery- but I thought I might share something I thought was cool and important.

Because of how roads have been washed out making homes and towns inaccessible to vehicles, the Cajun Navy (organizations that performs search, rescue, and assistance during disasters) has partnered with Mountain Mule Packer Ranch to use the mules to get medications, food, and water to people in need.

I just think it’s incredible. Despite all the technology you’d think is accessible to help people out, mules are still the most reliable form of transport to save people’s lives

Ah, I heard that High Table is being replaced and that John is heading off the change, fuck yeah, man. Just to make it easier on people, figured I’d say a little about myself

My name is Georgia, Georgiana, or Gigi, either of the three works. Some call me “Alice” in reference to “Alice and Wonderland”, some further have called me “John’s Alice” or “Alice Wick”, because some have claimed mine and John’s relationship has mimicked aspects of Alice and the Mad Hatter. I personally am not sure if that’s accurate, but to each his own. I currently reside near the Atchafalaya in Louisiana, but was raised in New York and parts of Arkansas and Tennessee.

Winston Scott is my legal caretaker and only remaining blood relative, to my knowledge. I call Charon “Mama” because he is the closest thing to a mother I can ever remember having. Kinda gave both of them a heart attack, and then John, when I decided to sneak into the Navy in hopes of following John into his service in the Marines. Good news is, got high marksmanship scores and became a corpsman and ended up in John’s squad later on. Bad news, am now physically disabled and require a cane and a rolly chair/stool when working the New York Continental’s bar. Got nerve damage from chemical exposure and got discharged a little after John did.

Vincent and I, well, we haven’t tried to murder each other but are…I don’t quite know what to call our situation. We put up with each other, sometimes enjoyably, but I can’t tell if he puts up with me to have someone to gossip about or if he considers me similarly as Chidi, who I am admittedly fond of. He is a BIG dude, though the Chilean has his soft moments. The Parisian and the Chilean DO both give wonderful hugs, do with that what you will.

Hey, so I made this character because I wanted to make another attempt at a non-Pokemon related sideblog. Part of her backstory is really more a combination of “she got lucky” plus good instincts and Winston pulling some strings for her.

Quick rules: no nsfw, but suggestive is fine. Doesn’t speak “proper French” but occasionally throws in some Cajun/Creole French or random Spanish when she genuinely can’t think of the insult or descriptor in English. Has definitely referred to Vincent as a “Parisian Couyan” behind his back once or twice.

She’s also based on a personal fanfic I created and ended up deleting. I haven’t decided her entire vibe with Vincent and Chidi, maybe being the annoying puppy friend that they keep around because her family has connections but any Vincent or Chidi rp on here can decide further about if they actually like Georgia or not, but basically, if you’re a John Wick rp blog, she will likely be very much an “Alice”-like character. My recent exposure to the story is Tim Burton, but I remember the disney and shortened versions of the story well enough to have some wiggle room.

Gonna plug Louisiana’s Cajun Navy, saw a video of them absolutely hauling ass to get to North Carolina. They’re using mules to bring in food, water, medicine, and other supplies to areas that have been completely cut off because of the flooding and landslides that took place as a result of the hurricane

Here is an article with a list of ways to donate to relief efforts in east Tennessee. My folks live about an hour away from towns that were devastated by this storm. I’m so incredibly grateful they’re safe and their city is safe, but we are hurting for their neighboring towns

I couldn’t find much for Georgia, but here is a link with info about counties that are eligible for federal relief through FEMA. Housing and Urban Development (HUD) has some information on their website that walks through some steps and tips for post-disaster. The link for HUD is specific to Georgia but would be helpful for all. Georgia Emergency Management and Homeland Security (GEMA) is also a great resource to find shelter/food/aid distribution

I’m not finding much for South Carolina either, but I did come across the One SC Fund who is collecting donations for hurricane relief in South Carolina, and I got a link for FEMA for ya

I’ve been seeing a lot of really well meaning individuals who want to just go themselves and bring their own relief and that is wonderful and kind of you, but please please get connected with rescue efforts already in the areas you want to support instead of trying to solo it. They can direct you on what would be most helpful during this time so that you do not risk putting yourself or others in danger which will then require resources to be split even further

Double check if you can before you donate these items to make sure whatever local drive you're headed to wants them and can distribute the more specialized ones where they're needed

Two American Citizens Lost At Sea After Two Separate Overboard Incidents

18-year-old, Louisiana native, Cameron Robbins jumped overboard of a ship on Wednesday, May 24th in the Bahamas. The waters in which he jumped into, near Athol Island, which is northeast of Nassau are known to be shark infested. Robbins, a recent high school graduate, travelled to the Bahamas as a way of celebrating his graduation. Robbins was aboard, “Blackbeard’s Revenge” on a sunset cruise with other high school graduates from Baton Rouge. Robbins leaves behind his friends and family and has been remembered as a fierce competitor. In recent search efforts, no signs of him were found, leaving the Coast Guard to call off their search on May 27th. During the expansive, 325-square-mile search for Robbins, Robbins family headed to the Bahamas to assist in the search for Cameron, Brian Trascher, vice president of the United Cajun Navy told WBRZ, “When we offered to take them out in a boat to the area where he went overboard and some of the area they were searching… They went, which I know had to be very emotional for them, but they went.” Robbins was designated by authorities as, “lost at sea,” which in turn, equates to a death certificate.  With no confirmed details, it has been assumed that Robbins had passed away, but his cause of death remains unknown. Many are presuming a possible shark attack, or a drowning. It is alleged that Cameron Robbins jumped overboard due to a dare, but that is still alleged and yet to be proven. Along with the dare, it is speculated that alcohol could have played a part, the drinking age in the Bahamas is 18, which leads us to believe that Robbins, along with the other recent high school graduates were consuming alcohol upon the sunset cruise they took in the Bahamas. Consumption of alcohol can cloud judgements and decision making. A memorial service was hosted on June 4th, 2023, to honor and remember Cameron Robbins, prior to the service, his parents thanked the community and all those who have expressed care and concern and asked for continued privacy as they grieve their kind and funny son.

Along with Robbins being designated lost at sea, 35-year-old, Ronnie Peale Jr., has also been designated lost at sea. Peale went overboard a Carnival Cruise ship just days following Robbin’s going overboard. The coast guard confirms that crews in ships and aircrafts searched more than 5,000 square feet. According to his partner, Jennilyn Blosser, they attended the cruise to celebrate her birthday, it was Peale’s first cruise. She woke up and was unable to locate her partner, that is when she called his mother in hopes of her hearing from him that day. She later reported Peale as missing in the afternoon of Monday, May 29th, 2023. Surveillance footage has confirmed Peale had gone overboard from his balcony around 4:10 am on Monday morning, approximately 186 miles east of Jacksonville, Florida, according to the U.S. Coast Guard. The United States Coast Guard has suspended the search for Peale as of June 1st, 2023.

With the recent overboard accidents happening within days of each other, the discussion of putting more safety measures in place on ships is crucial. Many who have attended cruises and some who were on the cruise where Peale went overboard have stated that those balconies are hard to fall from, that they have the safety in place to keep people from falling into the water below them. As far as the Robbins case, why weren’t there taller and more restrictive boarders to keep patrons on the boat, how was an 18-year-old man able to climb over and jump from the boat. Others argue that it is common knowledge to stay inside of a boat and to not jump overboard, but others may also argue that being an 18-year-old who could have had alcohol in his system, with no parental guidance, and pressure from his peers, it was meant to be a silly joke, but such joke has turned into such a tragedy. With a boat such as Blackbeard’s revenge, which was carrying several hundred recent high school graduates, it is crucial that there be more safety placed along the edges of the boat to keep the patron’s inside of the boat. Even safety boats and other floatation devices that can be heaved into the water if a passenger were to go overboard could be useful in situations such as this tragic accident. Although these were both accidents that resulted in great tragedy, it is important to remember the victims, and their friends and family.

Wedding dealing have moved the German American Football Team to San Antonio under the German Engineer Crops. A construction relief dinner has gone wrong and most construction company leaders were found dead.

Science news shares strange bugs that were rumored before to be true and found they cause alternative weather events. Scientists have also found that the mutant alligators were caused by leftover nuclear waste. Shell Sisters has taken over several oil rigs in the Gulf.

Thiel's house was found to have drugs, but Thiel was located in the Bahamas before authorities could question him. Guidry is also under fire for notifying the president he has given opiate addictions to the whole nation and was detained by the FBI. The effects were only regional in Louisiana.

After Nagin wins the re-election, Murphey man attempts to run for mayor, but many are tired of elections. Pelican Man is pushing a run for Louisiana Governor, and media suspects a planted pelican plush in oval office was done by them.

The commune in Louisiana, which was found to be true, has declared itself a sovereign state with plenty of girl scout cookies.

Superdome games are also underway and are continuing peacefully with no knowledge as to what's happening outside.

Fidel Castro has landed of the shores of the Mississippi and is looking to bring Cuba to the US.

The forces of the Cajun Navy began fighting the New Orleans mob in the ocean, with some forces of the Cajun Navy escaping the battle and heading towards the city. The Cajun Navy forces in the city have combined with Honore's Mississippi Guard Soldiers to take over the governor's Mansion. Robinette's police force also attempts to storm the governor's mansion. These forces are currently in a standstill attempting negotiations with each other. Governor Blanco's location is currently unknown. The band of bozos is struggling to investigate all this activity.
