I haven’t been able to figure out where the hell Skyward Sword fits on the timeline though. It clearly can’t be first since the first timeline cannot logically include Skyward Sword as part of its backstory due to the fact that Zelda 2 gives a different origin story for the very first Princess Zelda. Unless the Zelda from Zelda 2 is the same as the one from Skyward Sword this would not work. It could go after Minish Cap but it would be hard to explain how the humans go from living on the ground to in the sky. The easy solution would be to say that the timeline was never unified in the first place.

For the Vaati Screws Theory: I have a headcanon that Princess Hilda from “A Link Between Worlds” is descended from Vaati, and that Octavo is Lorulean Royalty. (He may or may not be Hilda’s descendent, depending on where in the timeline “Cadence of Hyrule” is located.)

What I think happened is that Vaati found his way to Lorule at some point in time between the destruction and restoration of that world’s Triforce. Vaati is a powerful sorcerer, and portals do feature as a gameplay mechanic in “The Minish Cap”. Once he got there, Vaati somehow attracted the notice of the Lorulean Queen or Princess. The Royal Family’s power-both political and magical-was waning, and she hoped that marrying a powerful magician could help rectify that. Vaati, who lusted both for power and for beautiful woman, agreed. Their relationship might or might not have eventually grown into something more than a purely political partnership.

Sorry for dumping all of this on you.

First of all, never apologize for sending me theories. I LOVE these.

Second, this is a really cool theory! If you ever write a fic, I'd LOVE to read it.

Personally, though, I don't know if he could have gotten to Lorule. We only know it exists because of the cracks that appear in A Link Between Worlds.

We don't know how these portals got here, but we DO know that they started because of Lorule's Sacred Realm.

This break right here spiraled out into the rest of the rift between realms. Where did it happen? How did it happen?

We don't know.

Regardless, though, this is a VERY interesting theory you have, and I want to hear more about it. If you want me to find supporting evidence for it, I can 100% do that for you—I did that back when Bo2W dropped, I can do it again ❤

can you tell more about lorulean minish cap?

Well most of it is in the art, but I suppose I could try and elaborate on it. 🤔

- Ravio is the merchant’s kid, and friends with Princess Hilda. Since Zeldas tend to have very different personalities in different games, I tried to make Toon Hilda different from the Hilda in ALBW.

I think she’s more of a quiet and insecure kind of girl, very much an opposite to the Zelda in MC. She probably has dry humour and tries very hard at everything she does.

- The Lorulean Vaati I made- Tuuli, is kind of a switch up of the Vaati traits in Minish Cap: Instead of maniacal laughter when doing bad things, they’re serious and deadpan, and when very much angry they are smiley.

Also Tuuli is the finnish word for Wind, since Vaati’s name is likely based on Wind (according to the Zelda wiki)

I also headcanon Vaati as a he/him agender, and my friend suggested that Tuuli could be multigender as kind of an opposite, and I was like hell yeah, so, that’s why I decided to make their pronouns they/them.

- I made Ezlo into Sheerow because I don’t know, Birds? BIRDS?? Ezlo’s known for being very much a talky talking old man, so I’m gonna say that the opposite would be a pretty quiet person. I think a running joke could be Ravio going “IT CAN SHOOT FIRE??” And Sheerow-hat going “Oh yeah, I forgot to tell you.”

- I have NO IDEA how Ravio could actually pull off an adventure, I suppose it’s been proven that when the things he love are in danger he is willing to work to save them.

So, one option is that he braves it up and goes on the journey

But the other option is that he rents the sword Hilda got him at the Picori festival in exchange for the relics he needs from the dungeons and uses the power of ripping people off to save the day.
