3PL Partnership and When It is the Right Time to Go for it? - Victory Freight
When it comes to coping with your warehousing and fulfilment prerequisites, then what matters the most is the right partner. Going with a 3PL partnership is the best solution, however, you should be sure if a 3PL partnership is yielding any benefits to you.
This is a well-thought-out guide about the ins and outs of what a 3PL partnership is and when it is the right time to go for it. In this guide, we will learn about the advantages of 3PL partnership for your business with other aspects.
What is a 3PL Partnership?
When a business partners with an external service provider to manage and optimize its day-to-day supply chain operations, this kind of partnership is termed a 3PL partnership. In this kind of partnership, the 3PL provider provides an array of logistics and supply chain management services in several industries.
The main aim of pursuing a 3PL partnership is to boost the productivity of a business by making it more efficient. These services also entail warehousing, transportation, fulfilment, and inventory management. Sometimes, it may also include broader aspects of supply chain management.
Tumblr media
When You Must Need a 3PL Partnership?
It can prove to be a game changer for your business if you enter a 3PL partnership, however, timing is crucial. At all times since you start a business, you may not need a warehouse. So when is the right time? The right time is when your business is growing rapidly and you are having a difficult time keeping up with order fulfilment. Or if you plan to have growth in new markets, a 3PL can provide the global development you need. Not only this, but you may also need a 3PL partnership if you do not have enough in-house expertise or resources for smooth logistics management. However, know that the 3PL partnership is not an all-encompassing solution.
Advantages of Collaborating with a 3PL Partner
Partnership with a 3PL can offer many benefits to businesses. Let us have a look at the benefits of 3PL.
Wide Array of Services
Businesses are able to outsource errands such as warehousing, packaging, fulfilment and order distribution to 3PLs. 3PLs usually have a wide network so you can avail of various services from them like software solutions, shipping logistics etc.
Technological Advancements: 3PL companies may let you have access to high-end technology such as reporting tools, track and trace technology and Transportation Management Systems.
Knowledge and Expertise: 3PL comes with an in-depth understanding and expertise in supply chain logistics, which is beneficial in resolving the complexities of fulfilment, warehousing and shipping.
When a 3PL Partnership is not suitable?
In many situations, a 3PL partnership may not turn out to be ideal. Following are some situations that point out when a 3PL partnership is not beneficial at all:
Inappropriate Location
An appropriate physical location is a must. In case a 3PL is far away from your customer base then you may need to wait for longer shipping times and higher shipping costs. The location needs to match the geographical distribution of your customer base to optimise shipping time and costs.
Insufficient Growth Support
It is definitely not the right choice if a 3PL partner is not capable of extending support to your company’s growth. The 3PL needs to have a greater level of flexibility to scale operations as your business proliferates.
Inadequate Industry Experience
Relying on a 3PL with minimum experience in your specific industry is detrimental to your growth. The 3PL must comprehend the industry standards and needs related to your product.
Incompatibility with Your Business Needs:
If you and your 3PL partner have a lack of shared goals then a 3PL partnership is not the right option for you. A potential partnership needs to have a shared target customer and a partnership mentality with greater focus on solutions.

Use Logistic Application Development to Grow Your Business
Tumblr media
In today’s technology-driven landscape, incorporating enterprise mobility solutions has become a necessity rather than an optional advantage. This is especially true for logistics businesses, which involve managing a vast fleet of vehicles and drivers to transport consignments efficiently. Mobility solutions play a pivotal role in enhancing the reliability and productivity of logistics operations.
Modern logistics professionals, including drivers, facility managers, and service technicians, leverage mobile devices and apps to streamline their tasks. Proof of delivery apps, turn-by-turn navigation apps, and vehicle inspection apps contribute significantly to their efficiency.
Simultaneously, customers can track real-time vehicle positions through the company’s logistics app, enabling online payments, feedback submission, and 24/7 support.
However, despite the potential benefits, many logistics businesses struggle to deploy mobility solutions effectively. According to App Tech News, a significant number of logistics enterprises only utilize a fraction of their enterprise mobility solutions, leading to suboptimal returns on investment.
One crucial aspect of improving logistics efficiency is location tracking. By monitoring a truck’s real-time location, logistics companies can predict and ensure on-time deliveries. In case of breakdowns, location tracking facilitates quick identification of the incident’s location and the nearest service center, preventing financial losses due to delays.
Both Android App Development and iPhone App Development provide APIs for handling live location data, utilizing GPS sensors in smartphones. Active tracking devices, capable of real-time information transfer, have replaced passive devices, which only allowed data retrieval after a vehicle returned to a predetermined point.
Beyond location tracking, logistics firms can enhance fleet performance through mobile fleet management tools. These tools help identify critical situations, preventing accidents and breakdowns. For instance, aggressive driving behaviors, like harsh acceleration and braking, can be monitored to minimize wear and tear on vehicles.
Advantages of mobility from an app perspective include user-friendliness, integration capabilities, and offline support. Logistics mobile apps should offer an easy-to-use interface, solving specific problems for employees efficiently. Integration with databases ensures seamless synchronization of mobile app data remotely, providing administrators with a rich user experience without the need for extensive paperwork. Additionally, offline support ensures functionality even when network connectivity is unavailable, allowing the app to save and upload information once a connection is reestablished.
In this context, Dvestree Australia recognizes the importance of Android App Development and iPhone App Development in creating mobile applications tailored for logistic operations. The company emphasizes user-friendly interfaces, seamless integration, and offline support to optimize the efficiency of logistics businesses.

Streamlined Logistics: The Benefits of Using Freight Forwarding Services!
Reliable and cost-effective interstate freight solutions are essential for businesses to reach customers in different states, expand their market reach, and maintain a competitive edge in the market.
However, managing the logistics of transporting goods across state borders can be a complex and time-consuming task. This is where freight forwarding services come into play. By outsourcing their logistics needs to freight forwarders, businesses can benefit from streamlined operations and a wide range of advantages.
In this blog, we will explore the benefits of using freight forwarding services and how they contribute to streamlined logistics.
Tumblr media
Expertise and Industry Knowledge:
Freight forwarding services offer the expertise and industry knowledge required to navigate the complexities of logistics operations. They understand the intricacies of transportation regulations, customs procedures, and documentation requirements.
With their in-depth knowledge, they can effectively handle the logistics processes, ensuring compliance and reducing the risk of delays or errors. Their expertise helps businesses optimize their supply chain and achieve seamless logistics operations.
Enhanced Supply Chain Visibility and Tracking
One of the key benefits of using freight forwarding services is the enhanced visibility and tracking capabilities they provide throughout the supply chain.
Freight forwarders leverage advanced technology and tracking systems to monitor the movement of goods from pickup to final delivery. This real-time visibility allows businesses to track shipments, monitor transit times, and proactively manage potential disruptions or delays.
The ability to access accurate and up-to-date information enhances supply chain visibility, improves inventory management, and enables better customer communication.

Customs Expertise and Compliance
Navigating customs procedures and compliance requirements can be challenging when dealing with interstate freight. Freight forwarding services have a deep understanding of customs regulations and can ensure smooth customs clearance for businesses.
Whether you are using Road freight transport or coastal freight services, they will handle the necessary documentation, ensuring compliance with the relevant laws and regulations.
This expertise minimizes the risk of delays, penalties, or shipment seizures due to non-compliance, allowing businesses to focus on their core operations with confidence.
Time and Cost Savings
Using freight forwarding services can result in significant time and cost savings for businesses. Freight forwarders have established relationships with carriers and negotiate favorable deals on behalf of their clients.
They leverage their expertise in route optimization, carrier selection, and shipment consolidation to maximize efficiency and minimize transportation costs. Outsourcing logistics operations to freight forwarders also allows businesses to focus on their core competencies and save valuable time that would otherwise be spent on managing logistics processes.

upcoming store stuff & why we're doing a super sale
omg hiiii it's devin again, and this time i'm bringing store news
the short version: we're moving ourselves back to minnesota, and we're moving order fulfillment to a fulfillment center
wow, that's big news! maya and i are so so so excited to be closer to our minnesota friends (and also my family lol). i'm hoping to be back in northeast minneapolis, but let's be real we're probably gonna get priced out and into the suburbs
in addition to that, due to a variety of reasons i'll explain in more detail below, we're transitioning from in-house fulfillment to working with a fulfillment center (or 3pl, short for third-party logistics). we're at an awkward size that makes staffing difficult and have had issues with extended processing time. the 3pl should be set up by september, and we're working on the back end to have fulfillment centers in australia, canada, the UK, and eventually the EU. if tax authorities work with us we should have all that ready by december 2024!
to prepare for that we're doing a super sale. ash told me not to call it liquidation but she said that like 30 seconds after i hit send on the marketing email, sorry about that. items that we don't want to pay to move to the 3pl are discounted by 25-70%, with some of them priced at cost. under no circumstances will anything ever be 70% off again
if you're nosy you can read the q&a i made up in my head while eating pigs in a blanket:
how are the labor protections at the 3pl?
pretty good! we were shocked to find anything even halfway decent in the US; we went looking for a fulfillment center in the EU to handle all international fulfillment, and the one we found just so happened to have bought a US location two years ago.
they're located in ohio, pay $19/hr, and provide health insurance and 401k matching. that seemed too good to be true so we dug through employee reviews on places like glassdoor, and while there were some bad reviews those were all dated prior to when the facility was purchased by this new company. they also have a very low turnover rate which is a HUGE green flag
why are you transferring to a 3pl?
the serious
sometimes we have a high volume of sales, and it makes sense to have two full-time employees plus a part timer! but usually we have a low-to-medium volume of sales. we can float by on that, but it gets risky, and the economy is in a bad enough state that we're concerned about the longevity
related, the 2023 holiday sale showed us some major flaws in our fulfillment process. if the same issues were to happen this year the business probably wouldn't survive
we're moving cross-country in early 2025 and would've had to close this location anyway
the dumb:
i'm sick of dealing with commercial landlords and if i have one more wall leak i'm going to throw it into the river brick by brick
what about your staff?
unfortunately we will have to say goodbye to our office staff. they have been given 3.5 months notice and no-questions-asked PTO for interviews with a small severance
why are you moving back to minnesota?
troy was always meant to be a temporary move. initially the plan was to move to vermont or massachusetts, but after being out here for 7 years we just kinda want to go home. the weather in troy is perfect for us, we love the mountains, and we have some great friends here, but for some goddamn reason we want our eyelashes to freeze together.
will you be returning to midwest cons?
if we return to cons at all it will be with ariel and/or ash running the booth, maya will not be involved. this would likely be in california and/or in the northeast US.
my friends are begging me to go to CONvergence as an attendee so ig you might see me there? maya has pledged death before crowded venues tho
will you do any local events in minnesota?
we might do sample sales. honestly idk what we're gonna do with the samples we have in troy, most of them are terrible. do you want samples of the strangest low rise bell bottom pants ever created? please take them from me. my bush hangs out
also my kid brother has gotten really into library events and if he asks nice enough we might do some of those
is there anything else?
i mean probably, but i started this last week and i haven't had any other ideas on what to include

I've never seen a single episode of anything related to watcher but I am eating up all this drama. Also sorry to y'all going through this
i appreciate that anon 😭 i've seen several good nuanced takes on the situation thankfully. the company definitely did mess up how it introduced the streaming service to people: they said in the video they were going to paywall all existing and new content and then in the comments and in the variety article pretended like that was never their intent. the variety article reveals that they were in fact initially told watcher was going to delete all existing content. the CEO in particular but in general all the founders said that the amount they are charging is affordable - specifically that anyone could afford it - which no they can't obviously. As they are now finding out the hard way. The CEO Steven also made an instagram post insinuating people who wouldn't subscribe just no longer want to watch them, rather than the reality which is that a massive majority of the audience can't afford to. Because he is the CEO, people are blaming the entire thing on him, but it's also important to remember there are actually three founder-owners with decision-making abilities in the company. Shane and Ryan are adults, and the way people are acting like Steven is some kind of dictator, Ryan just went along with it but Shane is the people's anticapitalist hero who was simply outvoted is not a great look. Especially the posts that refuse to acknowledge even the possibility of racial biases here. Mistakes were made, poc are not immune to criticism, but let's consider why so many feel like Shane was forced into this by the evil Steven (and people in the comments have literally called him evil for this) and either lump Ryan in with him or give Ryan no agency in the situation whatsoever. Steven is the most likely to have made the proposal as the closest thing Watcher has to a business-minded founder, but the other two clearly agreed with him. They could have just decided not to be in the video. I also don't see a world where they contractually obligated themselves to every whim of Steven's like some people are suggesting.
Do I think they're a bit sheltered in their LA life? Yeah, probably. I'm pretty sheltered myself - I live a comfortable middle class life in Australia, have a good job and am studying law. I could definitely afford the subscription. But I don't want to atm, or at least until they respond to the situation. Are they the worst most evil capitalists because they want to charge money for the content they create? No, not inherently. People supported them on Patreon because of course creatives should be paid for their labour, and ideally paid well enough to live comfortably. But the combo of bad business decisions (e.g. hiring too many staff too quickly while also wanting to pay them above a living wage, not advertising the patreon, not utilising revenue streams that aren't a streaming service like youtube memberships, spending what Ryan has said is hundreds of thousands of dollars on a single season of a series they have called Ghost Files) and the fact the CEO is pretty open about his comfortable lifestyle (drives a tesla which btw folks isn't a luxury car it's just a more expensive one, has a $300 matcha machine, has a series based on fine dining vs more affordable restaurants), means people are understandably mad because they are struggling financially and the founders (from what we know) are not - but they're trying to tell people that 6 USD is affordable for everyone.
It's a lot less to do with the fact of them charging for content as much as the way they went about it and in particular how it's been phrased to people has come across really insensitive. There's other logistics with the streaming service itself that were not thought out at all for international viewers, but I won't get into that here. And the pretending they were always going to leave their content up and telling viewers not to spread misinformation is scummy to me - at least acknowledge that was a mistake you made and backtracked on. It's just a mess but I really loved their videos and hope they make Youtube's Greatest Apology Video Ever (unironically) and try to undo some of the damage.
edit: someone in the replies made a great point that teslas could actually be considered a luxury car in some countries outside of the US, and I fully agree that 6 USD is 1) too much for what they offer, esp in this economic climate and 2) wayyyyy too much when converted to other currencies. I've seen other Australians say the conversion is too much for them but I know viewers in other countries say it comes out to literally thousands for them - if they can even access the site at all from their country.

Jolie's thoughts on
The Gloria Scott (Sherlock & Co. podcast)
Oof, plenty to unpack in this one!
And it‘s no surprise that it's generated a lot of fanart, so plenty of recs in this post, too.
"We share a flat, a business and a blossoming friendship" - Yes you do, and it’s ✨beautiful✨.
John not wanting to "shout through the door like a hostage negotiator" 😆
Anyone else desperately want to see Sherlock shooting a nail gun into a space hopper?
John threatening to beat Hunter up to defend Sherlock. 🥺
I wasn’t sure at first how I felt about Mariana tagging along, and I know it’s the greatest imaginable horror for a lot of us that the show might go down a John/Mariana route… but when they stayed over at the Trevors' and John and Mariana got to share a room, the way they were chatting as friends and not flirting at all before bedtime was reassuring to me, rather than disquieting.
That said, I don’t know if we’re kidding ourselves that this show will always just be soft and kind and warm and free from any interpersonal drama… ACD did create Moriarty and Reichenbach, and he did give Watson a wife and made him move out of Baker Street, *twice*… I know Joel Emory said John‘s not gonna marry and move out in this interview but 'Sign of Four' without a LI for Watson?!
Talking about LIs, I get the impression that so far, the accepted Viclock fanon always has Sherlock pining after Victor. Interesting to see it the other way round!
I also have FEELINGS about Mr Watson senior getting blown up on active duty and then his son nearly getting blown up on active duty as well. I also have feelings about John‘s choice to be an army doctor being the perfect combination of his midwife mum and his soldier dad. The carer and the fighter. *happy sigh*
Sherlock trying to swear. I CAN'T.
I don’t think I‘m able to put my thoughts on this whole scene into any words that make sense, so instead, please check out
this wonderful fanart by @abstractfrog
this one by @mayhasopinions
and this one by @matustheus
Sherlock calling John John, though. 🥺
Am I a bad person though to feel that Sherlock laughing along with John was fake? (Meant nicely, like an exercise in empathy, but fake all the same.)
The orchid analogy was genius. I am, however, laughing a bit at Harry Attwell’s Sherlock nearly orgasming from the brilliance of his own deductions. (He often does, but it’s particularly noticeable in this one.)
SPOILERS for the plot below…

I honestly don’t get why you’d go to the logistical trouble of raiding an oil rig. I mean, it makes sense if you hold the workers and the production hostage for ransom from the stinking rich oil companies, or if you stage a political protest there, but that’s not what they did in the story, with communications with the mainland cut and everything happening in secret. What were they after? Who keeps money and valuables on an oil rig for anyone to steal?
Also, how did a man who is rich enough to start his life owning high end property in Camden Town become a violent criminal in Australia?
Hunter is an awful man but if you look at the amount of trauma he's been through, it would have been a miracle if he had turned out any differently…
But anyway. It was a tricky case to modernise and they did it well.
I thought it ended rather abruptly, especially regarding Victor and his dad, but @b4kuch1n has fixed that with this wonderful artwork.
