The clients purchased the house is early 2017. They were in a rush to complete the full house refurbishment as they wished to start their family. Studio Basheva was commissioned to for the full RIBA stages from concept through to completion. The house was in a very poor state. The proposal included a rear house extension, a loft conversion and a full house refurbishment streamlining the family spaces and opening it up towards more light and air into the deep layout. We were thrilled to have obtained a planning approval and a Hampstead Garden Trust approval within two months. The clients were then able to move in with ten months on commissioning the project. We managed to achieve this by teaming up with a construction company which commenced the construction site immediately with obtaining the planning approval.

The PPC coated folded aluminium leaves – 4,080 in total – subtly vary in tones of bronze to mimic organic growth patterns. The concept was designed over a three year period of research and development working closely with Swiss manufacturer Tuchschmid.
