Ryan Adamczeski at The Advocate:
A gay family influencer is fighting back against a right-wing talk show host that falsely accused him of committing heinous crimes against his children – and he's winning.
José Rolón, known by the handle @nycgaydad, came under attack in February after conservative pundit Stew Peters accused him – without evidence – of committing sex crimes against his three young children. Rolón began receiving threatening messages from Peters' followers shortly after the host's claims, which included dubbing the father a “creep” and “pervert homo," as well as accusing Rolón of “criminal sexual conduct” and calling for his public execution. “Some pervert homo has access to at least four kids around the clock all the time,” Peters said in a video posted to both Instagram and Rumble. “He can take them to drag conventions and then post the evidence, post pictures and videos of criminal sexual conduct … and somehow not end up in jail, or better yet, the gallows.” While Rolón told The Advocate at the time that the false statements were "shocking," he wasn't going to let Peters spread hateful "misinformation" unchecked. The father soon after received help from attorneys at Locke Lord LLP, who took on his case pro bono and sent a cease-and-desist letter to Peters demanding that his network remove all videos that mention Rolón or his children.
[...] Peters' segment, from a 50-minute video targeting multiple LGBTQ+ families, did not just featured insults and false accusations against Rolón, but also uncensored views of his children's faces and their home. The father said it was "terrifying to think that the people who posted threatening comments could easily show up where we live and where my children go to school.”
Vile anti-LGBTQ+ extremist bigot Stew Peters was forced to remove videos that called gay dad José Rolón a “pervert homo” and a “creep.”

José Rolón isn't letting conservatives attack his family without a fight.
The influencer, known by the handle @nycgaydad, has filed a defamation lawsuit against right-wing host and conspiracy theorist Stew Peters months after the pundit accused him – without evidence – of committing sex crimes against his three young children. The five-count lawsuit, first shared with The Advocate, lists all the defamatory statements made by Peters against Rolón, suing him for bias-related intimidation under New York Civil Rights Law. The lawsuit asks for compensatory and punitive damages, legal costs, and for Peters to give up all financial gains earned from harassing Rolón.

OneCoin Accomplice Requests Sentence Postponement
According to a recent letter filed by Mark Scott’s counsel, the OneCoin co-conspirator is trying to get his sentencing postponed until the 21st of April. The crypto space is filled with reports of scams, most of which took place back in the days when Bitcoin was surging towards its all-time high of $20,000. One fraud that started in 2016, slightly before the famous surge, involved a company called OneCoin, whose conspirators were since arrested and put on trial. The co-conspirator, Mark Scott, was already convicted back on November 21st, 2019. The court found him guilty on two counts — conspiracy to commit bank fraud, and the conspiracy to commit money laundering.  All that remains is for him to be sentenced, which was supposed to take place on February 21st of this year. However, before that happens, the court has given him time to file any Rule 29 or Rule 33 motions. In other words, Scott can use this time to request acquittal or retrial, which he can do until February 3rd. After that, the government will have three weeks — until February 24th — to respond. In a new development, Scott seems to have used this opportunity, as his counsel decided to file a Letter, seeking that the sentencing date is postponed. According to the letter, Scott and his representatives would like to push the sentencing date for April 21st, 2020. This postponement would allow his defense the necessary time to complete briefing regarding the post-trial motions. Meanwhile, it would also give the Court enough time for review. In addition, the delay would allow the defense counsel to prepare for sentencing. The counsel letter also pointed out that the government has no objection to the newly-requested schedule. What was the OneCoin Scam About? As some may know, Scott was previously an equity partner at the law company known as Locke Lord LLP. Back in 2016, he started forming numerous fake private equity investment funds in the British Virgin Islands. The funds have since become known as the Fenero Funds. It is estimated that he laundered around $400 million in proceeds, filing them down as investments from wealthy families from Europe. In truth, the money was actually coming from the OneCoin fraud scheme, and Scott was allegedly paid over $50 million for his services. He used this money to buy numerous luxury cars, seaside homes, and even a yacht. According to what is known, he layered the incoming money via numerous Fenero Fund bank accounts, which were traced to the Republic of Ireland and the Cayman Islands. After that, he would transfer the money back to several entities associated with OneCoin. When the banks started making inquiries regarding the transfers, both Scott and his co-conspirators lied about the money, in order to have them file the transfers as OneCoin proceeds, which would allow them to evade AML procedures. Conspiracy to commit money laundering carries a potential sentence of 20 years, while the conspiracy to commit bank fraud carries a potential sentence of 30 years in prison. Since Scott was convicted of one account of both crimes (through OneCoin),  it is currently unknown how the court might handle his sentence. What do you think about Scott’s request for the postponement of the sentencing? Join the discussion in the comments below, and let us know your thoughts on the case. The Army Corps of Engineers has suspended use of its Nationwide Permit 12, with which it provided blanket environmental permitting for crossing water bodies. This may slow down the building of or even kill off a number of pipeline projects being planned or now building. '“The economic consequences to individual projects are hard to overstate,” said Ben Cowan, a Houston-based attorney with Locke Lord LLP who represents pipeline and wind energy companies. “It could be fatal to a number of projects under construction if they are forced to stop work for an extended period in order to obtain individual permits.”'
