Nobody tagged me but Red has been nagging me to do one of these for him so I finally gave in

Name: Red (technically a nickname he adopted as his chosen name, he won't reveal his birth name)

Age: old enough to be your daddy 😏

Gender: trans masc (pronouns are he/they)

Sexuality: bisexual and slutty about it

Romantic orientation: aromantic

Red's a shameless flirt and self-proclaimed slut who loves to get rough and rowdy. Challenge him to a fist fight if you wanna flirt with him, or shove some meat in his mouth to shut him up. He's got a lot of baggage but he's laughing about it while he works through it with his fists or his bat. He probably won't commit to you, but he will always commit to the bit.

PROS (?)

question

how the hell do people do orbiting construction projects, like space stations and whatnot

like ive never once been able to launch two things on the exact same trajectory and im running out of practical rocket sizes

the two options are a) build a really fucking huge rocket, or b) dock them in orbit. docking is a fucking pain to learn but it's worth the hours of struggle

with docking you want to time your launch right so your target is a bit behind where you launch from. then when you circularize in orbit you should be fairly close to them (make sure to set it as your target in game) and you can rendezvous from there

if you're having trouble with rendezvous remember that it's all about relative velocity. set your navball to target, point retrograde until it says 0, then point towards your targe, burn a bit, and check if the approach has changed. you will have to repeat this SEVERAL times and then once you get close it's pretty trivial with rcs translation

#ksp #there's also the Lowne Lazy Method of just pointing the docking ports at each other once you get close and i use it all the time
