A collection of photos from this week (01-04 February 2023) in UK/International Tour 2022 in Stuttgart, Germany (and a few from Baden Baden as well).
Aimee Hodnett spent some time covering Grizabella last week, and was Grizabella again today, and (finally) provided us a full photo of her Babygriz costume.
Also from last week, Aimee as Jellylorum with Lizzie Nance as Bombalurina.
While Aimee was covering Grizabella, Anna Campkin covered Jellylorum, a role she thought she was finished with! (You cannot escape Jelly, Anna!)
With Hal Fowler as Gus last week.
Kayleigh Thadani, ever the busy Swing, covered Cassandra a few days ago and Bombalurina today.
It was Carrie Willis' birthday Thursday, and her castmates celebrated with photos of their lovely dance captain.
Carrie covering Demeter with Lizzie Nance as Bombalurina, and covering Jemima with Lottie Stephens covering Rumpleteazer.
Carrie as Swing "Babygriz" with Ella Kemp as Rumpleteazer.

And it’s not like for example Edward or Andrew was busy last Friday, Edward has still not had an engagement this year. I hope they sent private condolences, and they had people who were still going to attend the funeral “represent” them same as Gabriella did for William today, but like… if I were the Badens’ I’d really hesitate to come to the UK now when both Philip and Lizzie are gone because why make the effort?
They were represented by other cousins. A Hohenlohe one I think and Edward was represented by another person.

Meet the Characters: Lizzy Baden
Lizzy Baden is the governess who watches over the three Baden boys.
Lizzy, born Elisabeth, is a German immigrant who came to this country at a young age. The immigration officials couldn't pronounce her last name, so they rudely gave her a new one based on where she came from (Baden was a region in southern Germany/northern Switzerland).
A bookworm and a perfectionist, she tutors the boys and demands the best. She is frequently surprised by David's high marks, considering his... attitude. In addition to tutoring, she also performs nanny-like duties and is the main caretaker for the youngest, though her demeanor can't exactly be called "warm."
Lizzy can be considered a bit of a snob. Though she herself was an immigrant, she was taken in by a wealthy family and often looks down on those who are struggling to make a new life in a new land. And she frequently suggests who the boys should and shouldn't interact with.
Is Lizzy heartless, or just super protective of the boys in her care? How does she do her own hair? Will she show sympathy for Emma, a girl who is also trying to make a new life with the generosity of a wealthy family?

Brazil playlist
Some day, I will visit Brasil. And when that time comes, this is the Brasil playlist I will bring with me and play it each day. It took me a while to put these songs together - I started back in 2017 but I did have some help. Obrigado to Arto of Helsinki for the underground metal!
This might the be ideal time to play my Brasil playlist for those in lockdown in Brasil or anywhere! Nathalia... remember, two of us is better than one! Sim!

I'm starting to believe that the whole anime is actually a well covered spoiler to the manga. Too many parallels ;) So I hope that the scene of UT and Druitt from Hollywood OVA is a hint of UT as Cedric theory. And Cedric name suits UT pretty well :)
I personally view the anime (both seasons one and two and their OVA’s), plus the drama CDs, and those first two musicals… as spoilers largely disguised as AUs. The first drama CD was the precursor to scenes in the Jack the Ripper arc; it just got altered a bit. The second musical was even essentially canonized by Yana-san in that single panel showing these “un-named” reapers (Eric and Alan) when Sascha talks about reapers who desert their posts.
Yes, so much of my theories rely on not just what we see in manga canon but also what we see/hear elsewhere in the Kuroverse. I scour those extra sources for Easter Eggs. Even though Yana-san didn’t write much of the stuff that isn’t in the manga (nor did she write the second musical), she had to have sat down with the writers to lay down some sort of framework for their stories.
The extra stuff even adds (as parallels) to my Mother3 evidence. For example: King Porky makes Dr. Andonuts work in a lab for him, creating all sorts of inventions and these so-called Fascinating Chimera. One part of the lab is used to chemically treat citizens until they become loyal to the king. It’s called “Nice Person Hot Spring”, and it looks like this:
Those people are Lucas (our Earl parallel), Violet/Kumatora (Gregory Violet par.), Duster (Edward [possibly a combo of Edward and Lizzie] par.), and Boney (par. to Sebatsian when he’s under contract).
Season two of the anime has Claude dunking “Ciel” into a vat of green liquid (but I can’t seem to find a pic or video/gif of it right now).
The “Making of Season Two” OVA shows Sebastian discovering a lab full of vats of green fluid… and they have bodies in them:
In the Manga, we already have Sieglinde’s smaller version of specimen tanks:
We also have Grell mentioning Baden-Baden, the famous bath/spa in Germany, during the Green Witch arc. Taking about that arc, Sieglinde has Sebastian hold the earl under the liquid surface of chemicals in a huge vat. Those chemicals, plus whatever they make him drink and purge, send him into that episode of panic and paranoia….
And now we have the S4 explaining that they thought the visitors were just getting “bathed in starlight” (paraphrased). And the second music hall is under construction in Bath, England, the location of natural hot springs….
You must be talking about Undertaker holding up that locket necklace and talking to Druitt about his mother:
I also think this is a disguised spoiler regarding Undertaker’s true identity, and I do support the Undertaker = Cedric theory, too.

Also quasi eine kleine Eisenbahn.
Nächster Tag: 27.12.2016--> WANAKA
Dennoch wollten wir was sehen.

Kayleigh Thadani was once again Electra! All weekend, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, freshly out of the booth and onstage.
With Anna Campkin covering Jennyanydots and Carrie Willis covering Jemima.
Lottie Stephens covered Rumpleteazer Saturday, with Harry Robinson as Mungojerrie.

I was excited to meet Mr. Baldwin's family. I was sure such a kind and gentle man would have wonderful children, and I was looking forward to putting a face to the lovely lady who had been writing to me for months.
Mr. Baldwin had sent me extra money for travel expenses and some train tickets that would take me to upstate New York. I silently thanked the gods I didn't believe in that I didn't have asthma in this life and cursed them that I had to ride in a train pulled by a coal-powered steam engine. Gross.
The trip was long, and I was relieved when I found myself on a station platform again.
Mr. Baldwin sent Lizzy Baden, the governess, to greet me. She was a stern and capable governess, and she was chiefly involved with tending to the youngest Baldwin, as the others were advancing in their studies to where they would need experienced tutors. I rarely saw her without seeing Joseph, the pre-school aged son (though the time didn't have pre-school).
When we got to the house, I was immediately taken into the parlor where I finally met Mrs. Baldwin. We sat and talked for a little while before she sent me up to bed. Maggie, the housekeeper, had shown me the way.
It wasn't until the next day that I met Mr. and Mrs. Baldwin's children. There was William, the oldest. He was a bit of a perfectionist and a bookworm, but too serious for a child on the verge of adolescence, in my view. Joseph, or Joey, was a cute little boy, sweet but also quite shy.
And then there was David. He was a few years younger than William, about my age, or rather, the age of the child's body I inhabited. I could tell he was clever, but he had a knack for mischief. I quickly learned that his target was almost always William, who just tried to ignore him.
But when I came, I became a frequent target of his less than gentle side. I enjoyed the feel of the grass between my toes, and he took that opportunity to make fun of me, asking: "Didn't my father buy you any shoes?"
He proceeded to insinuate all sorts of horrible things, always coming back to the fact that I was there and taken care of due to his father's generosity. He always said these things out of earshot of the adults.
At first, I was hurt and angry at his bullying. But I remembered that bullies usually bully because of something they feel lacking in themselves. I wondered if he was feeling jealous of the attention I got from his father. I never asked, and I kept his cruelties a secret.
I did my best to steer clear of him that summer, mostly enjoying the company of Mrs. Baldwin.
Occasionally, Mr. Baldwin would invite me into his study, which no one was allowed into without permission. Noting my successes at school (I would have to purposely get some answers wrong to avoid being made fun of by some of the girls), he would let me borrow books and teach me to play chess.
Mr. and Mrs. Baldwin noticed I wasn't exactly having fun at their home that summer. To my knowledge, they never knew about David picking on me. I believe they merely thought I was lonely without other girls to play with.
They tried inviting their friends and their daughters over for play dates, but I never found the girls very interesting. They were, after all, children. And girls in the 19th century. None read the newspaper or cared about it. They wanted to play with dolls and talk about what kinds of husbands they wanted. I asked one, Becky Hanson, whether she wanted to have a career. She gave me a look like I was crazy, and she and her mother left early.
I mostly read outside in the yard, thankful that I didn't have allergies anymore. Or I would walk into town with Maggie or Mrs. Baldwin.
When the long summer ended, I made the decision that I would not return for a while.
The school eventually gave me my own room as I got older. It provided plenty of breathing room and light to read by.
I continued trying to find a way home, but my visits to the bookstore were more frequently to find entertainment than anything else, and I rarely read the newspaper for anything other than current affairs.
They brought in a piano and a tutor, and I took up playing. When I wasn't reading or pretending to study, I was playing the piano. Eventually, I began teaching the basics to the younger girls.
Then I began tutoring the girls who needed extra help. Eventually, by the time I was "17," I was teaching entire lessons, bringing in some of the experience I'd had before landing in this century.
Look at me looking all teacheriffic!
Anyway, that year, Mr. Baldwin sent me a letter:
Dearest Emma, Mrs. Baldwin and I wish you would come around more. I understand it can be a taxing journey, but we do so miss you. We will be staying at home for this year's Christmas festivities, and we would enjoy it immensely if you joined us for the celebrations. Oh yes, William has decided to join me in my investitures. He is so serious, though. I wonder if he will be able to take any worthwhile risks. But that is between you and me. I hope to see you soon, Mr. Henry Baldwin
I sighed. It had been over eight years since I had last been there, and I was still the recipient of the Mr. Baldwin's generosity. I had kept exchanging letters with him and Mrs. Baldwin, and they nearly felt like family. Returning for Christmas wasn't too big an ask.
I made sure to have some nice clothes made. I still did not like the styles women wore, so I often persuaded the seamstresses to make my skirts smaller, more Edwardian. They didn't need to know I was basing my own personal style on a later time period. I made an exception for the dress I would wear on Christmas and to any holiday festivities I would be invited to.
There was already some snow on the ground when I arrived. It was much more beautiful than the dusty, dirty city snow in Philadelphia, though at least there weren't any gas and/or oil-powered engines running down the streets yet.
I had seen myself from the train to the house, and I was greeted warmly by most of the Baldwins. William was now a young man, and Joey was much bigger than I remembered him being. Almost a teenager! David mostly kept a distance. At least he didn't mock me anymore.
The first time I sat down to play the piano in the living room, everything else seemed to go quiet. When I was finished, three Baldwins and Lizzy Baden all applauded.
"I'll get a man in here right away to tune that piano," Mrs. Baldwin promised.
The man came just in time for Christmas. There were a few different parties held at the Baldwin home: one for friends, one for Mr. Baldwin's colleagues, and a more intimate one.
I played for all of them, much to the delight of Mr. and Mrs. Baldwin. I even got a "Not bad" from David! That in itself was a gift.
I returned to Philadelphia in January and continued teaching.

Meet the Characters: Joseph Baldwin
This is little Joey, the youngest of the Baldwin boys, as we first meet him. How cute!
Joseph, or Joey, is the youngest child of Henry and Rachel Baldwin. He spends most of his time with Lizzy Baden, the governess, though his mother is warmer and gentler. He can be quite shy, which makes him clingy. He prefers his mother's company over all others', but if she isn't around, he will remain attached to Lizzy, even in his father's presence. Though he does get along well with Henry and loves him, as far as anyone can tell; he doesn't talk much.
He seems to be an inquisitive child, and perhaps musical, but it's also hard to tell if that's Joey or his age.
When Emma first arrives at the Baldwin home, he is too shy to meet her. She thinks he's cute, though. Just look at those chunky cheeks and his little blond bowl hair! And the tiny shoes!
Who is Joey? Who will he be when he grows up? Will he be smart, funny, creative, mean, active? Will he ever warm up to Emma?

Meet the Characters: Rachel Mary Baldwin
Rachel Mary Wallace Baldwin, the loving wife of Henry Baldwin and mother of his three children, is both clever and creative.
Rachel Baldwin is the eldest daughter of Professor Richard S. Wallace, a law professor at the university. She first met Henry when her mother had sent her to deliver lunch to the professor. She found him quite handsome but played hard to get until his gentle hands and charming words made that difficult.
An avid reader, Rachel is also excellent at painting and playing the piano, skills she tried to teach to her sons, though only -- no, I won't spoil this one. But she adores them and dotes on them, despite her and Henry having hired a governess, Lizzy Baden.
She came to call on Henry one day, unaware that he and some peers were engaged in a high-stakes game of cards. She insisted on staying and watched the young men play, quickly picking up on the rules. When Henry was running out of betting money, she interrupted to plant a kiss on his cheek and whisper that Matthew Long and Ethan Pole were both bluffing. He didn't let on that she had whispered anything at all, and he took them both for everything they had.
She also enjoys lawn bowling.
Though she has never met Emma and only corresponds via letters, she is fond of her. She acknowledges that the girl is akin to an even cleverer version of herself as a child and hopes they can be close.
Will Rachel end up becoming close to Emma? Will she even accept her as family as Henry seemed to do on day one without even consulting her, his wife, about bringing a stranger into the family?
