The map includes a massive view from Birkhead showing the harbor and sailing vessels, plus vignettes of St. George’s Hall, The Sailor’s Home, sailing ships, and the Custom House, plus a decorative coat of arms.

The plan was drawn and engraved by J. Rapkin, illustrations by H.Winkles for R. Montgomery Martin’s Illustrated Atlas.
