plus one and a half | lee felix & han jisung
Pairing • BF!Felix x Fem!Reader x Jisung
Summary • A friends wedding is coming up, and Jisung asks you and Felix if you're bringing any plus ones. You are actually— each other. Because you're dating now. You'd think Jisung would congratulate you, or say something positive, but instead he laughs and doesn't believe it. Whatever it takes, you're going to make him accept that you're telling the truth.
Genre • smut, reverse fake dating au where you are actually dating but no one believes you
WC • 3k
Content • making out, dry humping, unprotected sex, piv penetration, threesome, clit stimulation, overstimulation, masturbation, groping, rough sex, felix is a bit inexperienced but jisung helps him out
"Did you guys bring any dates?" Jisung asks. He leans forward in his recliner, curious as to what you and Felix would say. You both sat on the couch, the warm lighting of the living room painting a cozy atmosphere in the cottage you were staying at.
You, Felix, and Jisung had been invited to a friends wedding. You came a week early, split an Airbnb, and treated it like a vacation. The location they picked was so beautiful, it would be a shame to only be there for a day or two.
Of course, you were allowed to bring a plus one to the wedding, but you all had been single for so long that the idea of having a date for the wedding was laughable.
At least it was, until very recently.
You and Felix look at each other, knowing glances adorned on your faces. You had only been dating for a month, and you've kept quiet about it in case things didn't work out. If you decided this wasn't right for you, you could go back to being friends without the hassle of having to tell anyone about it.
However, things have been going better than expected, and even though it's only been a month, you can see how well you two fit together. He's already better than your last partner.
"Actually," Felix starts, and looks to you for confirmation. You nod, and he continues. "We're going together." He gestures at the two of you.
"Well you're going with me too," Jisung says, "but I meant, like, a romantic date."
"It is a romantic date. We're dating," you say. This is the first time you've told anyone about this, and you feel butterflies in your stomach.
Jisung takes a pause to look at you, then to Felix, then back at you.
He releases a full belly laugh.
"You? And Felix? Together?" Jisung says. He thought it was completely absurd.
"What's so funny about that?" you ask. You had no idea he'd react like this.
"Come on. I know the guys you've dated. You go for like... cool, detached guys. Guys that wear biker jackets and ride motorcycles and don't know how to talk about their feelings. Not soft guys like Felix," Jisung says, "no offense."
"I don't know what to tell you, Jisung. We've been dating for a month now," Felix says.
"You know, you can just tell me you're embarrassed to go to the wedding without dates. I get it."
You cross your arms. It's true that Felix is different from who you normally date, but is it so hard to believe?
"Jisung, come on," you say.
"If you want to convince people you're not alone, I could go with you instead," Jisung says, winking at you.
"Uh... I'll just go with my boyfriend."
Felix's head snaps to look at you. You've never used that word with him, and the surprise is visible on his face.
"See, even Felix is surprised to be your boyfriend," Jisung teases.
"No, it's just.." Felix starts, "I didn't know we were there yet." A smile builds on his face, and you could just melt at the way he looks at you. "I like it."
He leans in for a quick kiss, a small celebration of the change in your relationship status.
"You're gonna have to better than that," Jisung says.
Felix's eyebrows furrow in frustration.
"What, do you want us to make out?"
"If you're trying to sell it, then really sell it. Otherwise no one is gonna buy it."
You sigh, and crawl onto Felix's lap, straddling him on the couch. His eyes widen in surprise, not expecting the sudden boldness. It's not unwelcome though, and he finds himself a little turned on.
"Jisung's being annoying, so let's just do it."
"O-okay."
This relationship is still new to you, so you don't know everything he likes yet, but you hope this will at least convince Jisung.
You cup Felix's cheeks and lean in, pressing your lips against his. He smiles into the kiss, and his fingers thread your hair. You part your mouth when you feel his tongue asking for entrance, quiet moans passing between your lips as he explores.
His hands travel down your back, lowering to your hips and pulling you towards him. You feel something rub against your core, and absentmindedly rock against it. He deepens the kiss, tongues melding together while he presses his body further into you.
You can feel his bulge getting harder as you grind into him. He groans at the feeling, and his hands reach under your shirt and up your back. You start to unbutton his shirt, getting halfway down before Jisung interrupts you.
You completely forgot he was watching.
"Great performance guys, maybe some people will believe you after all." He claps slowly at your demonstration, and you peel yourself off of Felix's face. You can't believe you were dry humping your boyfriend in front of him, and he still didn't believe you.
"I don't think anything is going to convince him at this point," Felix says. He leans into your ear. "Do you want to finish this is private?" he whispers, and you feel your core throb. You nod your head, and he stands up, lifting you up with him. You lock your legs around his waist while he holds your ass, and carries you to his room.
"Where are you guys going?" Jisung asks, standing to follow Felix, but the door is shut before he even gets a chance to take a step.
Felix drops you onto the edge of his bed, wasting no time to pull off your shirt and unclasp your bra. He unbuttons the rest of his own shirt, revealing the faint outline of his abs. Your fingers trace them, moving down his stomach and over his bulge, and he whimpers under your touch. He grasps your jaw, leaning down to kiss you while you stroke him through his pants. It doesn't take long before he pulls them down, and you help him rip off his boxers. His cock practically jumps out, already leaking from excitement.
"God, I just want to be inside you already."
He spreads your legs open for him, and he sees how wet you already are from grinding against him.
He wastes no time stretching open your entrance enough to fit himself in. You feel his dick push into your walls, hungry to feel you around him.
Inch by inch, he buries his cock into you, until he's completely bottomed you out. He pulls out slowly, and thrusts back in to hit a sensitive spot. He rocks into you at a steady pace, savoring the feeling of how tight you are around his dick.
Suddenly, the door opens, and Jisung sees exactly what you're doing. Felix freezes mid thrust, cock throbbing desperately in your pussy.
"So what-" he starts, but completely forgets what he's about to say. He doesn't know what's more shocking— the fact that you actually were together, or that you started fucking 3 seconds after leaving him alone in the living room.
He could leave, in fact he knows he should leave, but... it would be funnier to pretend he still doesn't believe them. That's definitely the reason why he stays, and not because his dick is getting hard and it's clouding his judgement.
"Wow, you guys really are committed to this bit."
"Oh my god, Jisung, go away" Felix says, grabbing the blanket to cover you both.
"Aw, come on. If you're going to fake a relationship, at least make it believable."
Jisung moves closer, ignoring the wide eyed look you both give him, and he snatches the blanket from Felix's hand to uncover you. You are both completely naked in front of him, caught in the act, but he doesn't seem to give it a second thought.
"Jisung, what are you-" you start, but he cuts you off when his finger goes to your clit, rubbing circles around it.
"See, you gotta do this if you want it to look real," he says. You twitch when he grazes over a sensitive spot, and he rubs into it with more pressure. You body acts on its own, humping into his hand, and Jisung smirks at how you react to his touches. He then lightly pushes Felix forward, and his dick plunges deeper into you. "Now keep thrusting."
Felix doesn't know why he listens, but he does as he's told. His thrusts start back up slowly, and when you open your mouth to complain about Jisung, a moan escapes instead.
"I-I think I've got it from here," Felix says, but Jisung shakes his head.
"There's so much more you could be doing to pleasure her. Like this," he says, and grabs one of your breasts. He squeezes your chest, palm rubbing over your nipple until it's erect, and then pinches it.
"Jisung!" you say in shock, but it comes out less like surprise and more like you're moaning his name. You feel Felix's cock twitch inside of you. He grabs your other breast, not wanting to be shown up by Jisung, and massages it. With both of them groping you, Jisung's finger rubbing your clit, and Felix pumping his cock in and out, you can barely think straight. Your head leans back in pure pleasure, and you can feel your orgasm quickly approaching.
"See, there you go. Look how happy she is."
Jisung watches you frantically buck against Felix, hoping to get every last inch of him inside you. Felix pumps into you faster, hitting your g-spot more forcefully, and you moan his name in a string of words that become incomprehensible the more they touch your body. Jisung doesn't let up either, and his fingers trace deeper circles around your clit. You grab Felix and pull his body closer, and his cock slams into you
"Fuck, I'm cumming," you're barely able to say, before a gush of liquid drenches Felix's cock. You fall onto the bed in exhaustion, but they don't stop. Jisung's touches on your clit and breast become softer as you ride out your high, but Felix pushes in harder and rougher. He can feel his own climax coming, and he groans as he fucks your twitching body. You're extremely sensitive, and his thrusts give you no time to recover.
A loud moan escapes Felix's lips, and his cum shoots inside you, hot white fluid coating your walls. His pace slows down, and you're finally able to catch your breath. His legs tremble as he pulls out, and he has to sit on the bed next to you.
"Not gonna lie, that made me really horny," Jisung says, and when you lift your head to look at him, you see his massive erection bulging in his pants. "Do you mind if I fuck you too?"
"Bro," Felix says, still panting as he looks up at Jisung, "I'm not gonna let you fuck my girlfriend."
"Girlfriend? Whatever could you mean?" he asks, words exaggerated for dramatic effect. He's not even trying to hide the fact that he knows you're together anymore.
"Jisung, get out!" you yell, throwing a pillow at him.
"Ok, ok!" he says, and finally leaves the room. He would have to take care of the throbbing in his pants on his own, but at least he got to have some fun before he was kicked out.
Felix collapses on the bed beside you, tired from both the sex and dealing with Jisung. He looks at you, and you both crack a smile, laughing at the insane thing that just happened.
"Well... I have to admit. He knew what he was doing," Felix says.
"We should invite him again."
Felix pauses, and remembers how you reacted to his touches, moaned his name, shook under him, all because Jisung started 'helping'...
"Do you want me to call him back?"
"I mean... if you're ok with it."
He sighs, and kisses you on the forehead.
"He's already helped you orgasm once, one more isn't going to hurt my pride."
Felix pushes himself off the bed, not bothering to put his clothes back on, and leaves the room to find his friend. He doesn't see Jisung in the living room, so he's either jerking off in his room or in the bathroom.
He can hear quiet groans coming from further in the house, coming from Jisung's bedroom, and he pushes the door open. As he expected, Jisung is in there, pants down with his dick in his hand.
"Jisung," Felix says, startling the other man.
"What are you doing!?" Jisung yells, quickly pulling his pants back up to hide himself.
"Oh come on, don't act all embarrassed now."
"Can't a guy crank it out in peace? Why are you here?"
"Oh, right," Felix says, and remembers what he came here for. "Well... if you want to have sex with a real human being, you can come back to our room. But if you prefer your hand-"
"Say no more!" Jisung says, and his pants are back off before Felix can even blink. Jisung runs past him, his hard cock bouncing with every step, and rushes to come find you.
He barrels into the room, Felix a few paces behind him, and eyes your body sitting on the edge of the bed. You look delicious there, waiting for him to stuff his dick inside you.
He walks over to the bed, and stands in between your legs. His dick throbs in front of your core, but he makes no attempt to put it in. He rests his hands on your thighs.
"Are you sure you want this?" he asks.
You look down to his cock, eyes widening at what you see. He's extremely hard, so you see exactly how thick he is.
"Yes, absolutely," you say, and he smiles.
You hear Felix clear his throat, and see him standing in the doorway.
"This is just a one time thing, ok?"
"Yeah, yeah," Jisung says, shrugging his shoulders, "now get over here and help me fuck your girlfriend."
Felix quickly makes his way over to the bed, and Jisung gestures for him to sit behind you. He climbs up, and you feel his body press against your back.
His hands immediately go to your chest, and you lean back into him as he messages them. You feel his lips on your skin, a light trail of kisses left from your ear, down your jaw, and to your neck, sucking on the flesh. You tilt your head to the side, and he takes advantage of it, nipping and licking at the exposed skin. He pulls on your nipples, and you can't help the gasp that escapes you.
Jisung watches this, enjoying the show in front of him. He watches as Felix plays with your breasts, loving the way you groan under your boyfriends touches, and he almost forgets what he's here to do. He wanted to just ram his dick inside you and finally ease its frenzied throbbing, but he's here to pleasure you first and foremost.
His fingers once again find purchase on your clit, rubbing the spot he knows makes you twitch. He could almost cum just watching you writhe under him.
"This feel good?" he asks, smirking at the way you nod frantically. Of course it did, he knows exactly what he's doing.
He loves when you buck against his hand, hoping to get every last bit of friction from him as he traces rough circles around your needy cunt.
"This is going to feel even better."
He especially loves the loud moan you let out when you feel his dick stretch out your tight hole. Inch by inch, he shoves his massive cock inside you, groaning at the pressure of your walls as he fills you up.
With every push, you feel his dick press against you, too large to fit but forcing it deeper anyway, until he finally manages it all in.
"Oh my god, you're so tight," he says, voice coming out hoarse. He can't believe he gets to feel this, to feel you. His mind is clouded by lust; he just wants to fuck you like a toy, fuck you so hard you're left limp under him.
His thrusts are fast and desperate, too horny to ease you into his girth. He grabs your hips, pulling you into his cock deeper, and sounds of your wet pussy being rammed are only drowned out by your loud moans at every thrust.
Felix matches his pace, sucking down harder on your neck, and pulling harder at your breasts. Your entire body shakes from the impact of his dick pounding into you, and you can feel your orgasm coming fast from the overwhelming sensations. You don't have time to speak, their only warning of your climax coming from a loud moan as you clench around Jisung's cock, and you drench him in your cum.
"Oh, fuck," he groans, and he spasms inside you. His climax overtakes him, and he ruts harder into you as his cum fills whatever remaining space is left. He rides out his high, slowing down until he can barely stand.
Felix holds you close as you catch your breath, his arms wrap around you and his chin rests on your shoulder.
"How was that, baby? You alright?"
"Y-yes," you say, weakly, barely managing to make a sound.
"Good." He kisses your cheek, and runs his fingers through your hair. "If you're happy, I'm happy."
Jisung slumps on the bed face down. For once, he's too tired to make a joke. Too tired to stay awake even, and you hear soft snoring coming out from him.
A small laugh escapes from Felix, looking at the state Jisung's in. He turns back to you, and kisses you one more time.
"I'm gonna go get something to clean you up, ok?"

Lets talk about Gabriel's club.
Gabriel being part of a club where all his closest "friends" meet, may not seem odd, even viewers didn't think too much of it at first when some of the members came together for a party at the Agreste mansion back in "Gabriel Agreste". But the more we learn about what this club does behind closed doors, the more it feels like its no ordinary club for members to mingle and party.
The club not only has a great deal of security to keep non-members out, but it is even ensured that the members themselves are unable to release any information over what goes on in any event, regardless of who they are. Their clubs activities are kept under so much security and secrecy that it is even mandatory for the members to provide a fingerprint scan, wear masks and even relinquish their phones, along with their kids phones, before any event begins, and to make sure that no one can listen in, let alone get any glimpse as to what goes on inside, the entire facility is placed on lockdown, doors and windows all boarded up and locked. Any other person who would normally just be catering for an event, would be instructed to have no contact with any other members except Gabriel, all the while an added scrambler is activated to stop any technology from making its way through.
Aside from Tomoe and Gabriel, some of the other members of the club include Bob Roth, Andre, Audrey, Amelie, Prince Ali and his assistant Soraya, all of whom are business people, politicians and even members of royal families. The royal family in London that invited Gabriel and Tomoe to a wedding are likely also members of the club. It's no surprise Gabriel and Tomoe have such strong connections both in Paris and around the world, all of whom hold them in high enough regard to invite them to even the most private of events, like the royal wedding in London ("Backwarder")as well as prince Ali's birthday("Lies"), all very exclusive events.
Now, societal parties like the "Diamonds dance" might have been common enough for even Zoe to have regularly experienced them while living in New York, but knowing that Gabriel and Tomoe are involved in these kinds of parties, raises question if the activities surrounding their club may actually hold some ulterior motive for them and the members. Such a club would not only serve as a good space to interact with high society members who are normally scattered around the world, but it would also serve to invite and interact with any potential new members that have become wealthy over time.
Gabriel alone was not always the world famous fashion designer he is now, he used to be a struggling designer who lived in a studio apartment, before Audrey discovered him and gave him his big break in the fashion industry. Such gatherings for members of a high society would have been a good place for Gabriel to meet someone like Tomoe, who despite having no relation to the fashion industry like he did, would have met him nonetheless at something as simple and inconspicuous as a party.
Because Gabriel was desperate to save Emelie from the effects of the broken peacock miraculous over the years, long before he committed to a life of villainy as Hawkmoth, involving others who had the potential to help him in his goals was definitely not above considering the more he spiraled into his desperation and position of power in the world. He already had Nathalie, who was an expert at finding relics and was the one who helped the Agreste family find both the peacock and butterfly miraculous, he even recruited someone as young as Lila back in "Oni-chan" to act as his spy into Adrien's life and help separate him from Marinette, all with the promise of being a model. If he recruited them, he might have already attempted to recruit others in the past from all sorts of places, especially societal parties, the more he realized he could not do certain things with his power and influence alone. Tomoe was one such person.
("Passion," "Multiplication", "Oni-chan")
When Gabriel first set out to obtain the ladybug and cat miraculous as Hawkmoth, it was assumed that his plans to use the jewels' wish granting abilities, were entirely his own. However, in "Multiplication", the show revealed that Tomoe was always aware of Gabriel's identity as Hawkmoth and was even involved in his plans from the very beginning. All the advanced technology that Gabriel used, from the weaponized security system in his lair("Robostus"), the power supply in his mansion that could compete with a power station("Party Crasher"), the machine that allowed him to reconfigure the miraculous into rings ("Destruction"), Emelie's pod etc. was not built by him, it all came from Tomoe, but by no means did Tomoe give all this high tech to Gabriel out of the goodness of her heart, she gave it to him because she too had something to gain, a wish from the ladybug and cat miraculous to create a new world.
To have the power that could grant any wish would be too good of an opportunity for anyone to ignore, even Marinette and Adrien considered using the wish their jewels could grant, before learning about the consequences that came with it of course, but it was precisely this kind of power that would have made things easy for Gabriel to convince others to join him in his pursuit for the miraculous, especially Tomoe.
("Robostus", and "Passion")
(In "Intuition", Tomoe reveals her desire to create a new world through the power of the ladybug and cat miraculous wish granting abilities)
Of course, Gabriel couldn't just go around telling people about the existence of the miraculous and the wish without drawing some attention, but the club's parties alone would serve as an excellent cover for Gabriel to recruit people over the years in his desperate endeavors to obtain the miraculous and save Emelie. If Tomoe alone was helping Gabriel from the shadows without anyone ever suspecting her, who's to say there aren't other members within the club who are doing the same thing from the sidelines. We don't know a lot about the other members yet, but judging by the way their children are, the majority of them are no different than Audrey and Chloe, believing they are entitled to many things without consequences, all of whom would definitely choose to ignore the true price that revolves around being granted a wish, a price that could bring devastation onto the world and other innocent people who would suffer the consequences of their choices (cough* it's just like in real life*cough).
The club everyone assumes is just a place where rich people gather, may harbor a secret society comprised of the rich people who aim to further their power and plans, through the use of the miraculous, and right now, Gabriel and Tomoe are at the center of it all. It wouldn't be the first time a large evil party of people gathered to obtain the miraculous, after all, in "Backwarder", it was revealed that even the Nazi's knew about the miraculous and hunted down master Fu to obtain them so as to use their power for their own diabolical plans. But again, let's just wait and see what the show has to say.

Pretty Boy Live in Santa Fe, 1977
Part 1/3 Also on Ao3 here
For @harringrove-relay-race. Very happy with how part 1 turned out, and there will be more to come. Thanks to @foxxtastic for the intro and next up will be something stunning from our fearless Relay Race leader @half-oz-eddie
Rated M / 5k words / Part 1/3
Part 1: Into Hades
Rolling Stone Magazine - May 2002
Billy Hargrove arrived after I did, in his lovingly maintained blue Camaro, the subject of his song, “Lady Blue.” “Lady Blue” was recently named #93 on Rolling Stone’s Top Love Songs of the Century.
“I wrote, ‘She’s the wind in my hair, the rumble in my soul.’ I thought it was so obvious,” He laughed, his blue eyes still boyish. “My niece made it her wedding song, I said ‘Really? It’s about a fuckin’ car!’”
He showed me several pictures of his niece, the supermodel Tyler Sinclair. It seems good looks run in the family. He suggested the diner and he ordered waffles, winking when I mentioned that we’ll be here a long time.
The decades have been kind to him, maybe a few more lines. It’s not hard to imagine him stepping right back onto the stage, as if no time has passed at all.
“A little extra glitter on the eyes,” He said with a smile, “to hide my crows feet. That’s all I need.”
I ask what he’s going to wear to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame ceremony for Kaleidoscope's induction and his smile dims only for a moment.
“I think I should pull out some old costumes. You know, the butterfly still fits.”
He was referring, of course, to the sheer butterfly cape costume that nearly had him thrown off the stage in Houston Texas in December 1976. He caved to putting on a pair of silvery shorts rather than the nude underwear it was designed with. He later wore it with the nude underwear on the inside cover of Kaleidoscope, the album that will be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in just a few short weeks. Kaleidoscope was his last album with the iconic Glam Rock band Pretty Boy, which famously broke up at the height of their career while touring for the album, onstage.
It’s not often that a band is inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and there’s a question if all of them will even show up.
“I’ll be there,” Hargrove said, fiddling with the silver band on his middle finger. “I have no problem with seeing him.”
The him is, of course, the lead guitarist and other lead singer of Pretty Boy, Steve Harrington.
Steve Harrington invites me to his oceanfront house in Malibu later that afternoon.
“I haven’t decided if I’m going to go,” He said thoughtfully, his brown eyes darting around the room.
When I mention that Billy is going to go, he seems surprised.
“He didn’t say he was going to punch me, did he?” Harrington smiled, but it doesn’t seem like much of a joke.
For one of the most famous rock stars of the 70s, Harrington is shockingly low key. He wears a t-shirt and slouchy linen pants, and he jokes that he ought to have shaved when I take out my camera. The house is stunning but empty, with miles of blank white walls and overstuffed white furniture.
“I’m looking for a little peace,” He shrugs, “I used to have all these pictures up, all this furniture… It was too much.”
It was hard not to see him as an artist without a muse. He drifted listlessly, picking things up and putting them down as we talked. So it was a surprise to me to hear that he’s been recording.
“I may never release it but… Yeah,” He laughed, “Music. After all this time. Bet you didn’t know.”
He picks up a rare photo from the piano. It’s from the early days of Pretty Boy, before Billy Hargrove. Harrington has his arm around his bandmate, Eddie Munson. Their drummer Chrissy Cunningham is balanced precariously across their shoulders, laughing and cringing at the same time. Bassist Robin Buckley smirks from the corner of the frame, messy bangs in her eyes.
“Who knew, right?” He asked no one, shaking the frame a little.
There are no pictures of Billy Hargrove.
“That’s a… a long story,” He said, when I asked.
But I have time. I tell him Rolling Stone will pay for it. At least that makes him laugh.
It was just by chance that Pretty Boy’s last concert was filmed.
“We were meant to just film in Vegas,” The director, Argyle Molina-Zapata, sat down with me after a private screening of Pretty Boy Live in Santa Fe, 1977, “But there was a freak rainstorm, and I couldn’t get my camera’s out of the back. The crowd was digging it, refused to leave. I remember when Billy hit the high note for ‘Mother Make Me,’ there was this lightning crack… brilliant.”
Molina-Zapata shook his head, “But the footage, what I got of it, was awful. Awful! So I begged Murray to let me come with them to Santa Fe.”
Murray was Murray Bauman, famed tour manager, who handled the Boys, later Pretty Boy from their first album Starfire, all the way to Kaleidoscope.
“And I was lucky,” Argyle nodded, “They had that extra tour bus.”
The tour busses are featured in the first few minutes of the film. They roll around the corner, one reading Billy Blue (Billy’s original stage name was Billy Blue before he dropped the Blue), and the other, Steve’s Six (Named after Steve’s best friends from his hometown.)
“They were nightmares,” Murray Bauman’s voice crackled over the phone, “Nightmares on tour. Separate buses. Separate hotels. Fuck me, I swear to god at one point they wanted separate stages. And the label caved on almost all of it. Fucking nightmare.”
It’s almost impossible to imagine it when you see them on stage together. There’s something electric that passed between Billy Hargrove and Steve Harrington, something that drove crowds wild. They gravitate towards each other on the stage, orbiting like planets until they can share the same mic. They can’t seem to stay apart.
It’s hard to see exactly what happened that night.
“I’ve watched it a million times,” Argyle laughed, “But the only two people who can really say what happened are Billy and Steve.”
What you can see is this: Steve tearing into “Pride & Prejudice”, the lead off Kaleidoscope and the last song of the night.
Billy was trembling, visibly shaking as he sang and Steve harmonized along.
What can I say, if you ask me to walk away?
Baby, there’s no words for you.
Baby. I don’t know what to do.
Billy danced closer, joining Steve, his handheld mic loose at his side.
Can you ever put away your pride?
Is it worth it to not have me at your side?
I guess it must be, because I’m yours,
Regretfully,
Baby.
Billy leans in, sharing Steve’s mic for the bridge.
Is it really a mystery?
What I mean to you, and you mean to me?
Is it really, baby?
Billy shook his head, curls bouncing. He looked into Steve's eyes. He smiled. Steve looks at Billy, and Billy looks at him. It almost looks like Billy mouths something, but bootleg footage also has appeared where it looks like Billy just nodded. Steve goes a little shell shocked, hand freezing on his guitar, falling out of sync.
And then Steve turned away and left the stage, handing his guitar to a stagehand. Billy turned to the crowd, his expression strangely triumphant. He was always magnetic on stage, but this moment transcends that. It somehow feels like he’s getting everything he wants.
So I guess I’m losing you,
You promised me you would and it’s true.
Baby, there’s no words for you.
Baby. I don’t know what to do.
Steve Harrington hasn’t performed in public since 1977.
“None of us knew what was going to happen that night,” Chrissy Cunningham curled up next to her husband, Eddie Munson, on the large white couch of their Seattle home.
They’re a handsome couple still, draped in rock and roll finery. He toyed with the edge of her scarf, and she curled his long hair around her long fingers.
“We had some of our own shit going on at the time so…” Munson shrugged, “Maybe we were distracted.”
Their living room was crowded and verdant, every spare flat surface covered in plants. Their partner, former record executive Jason Carver, puttered in the kitchen in an apron that read Plant Papa.
“Yeah,” Chrissy smiled, “We had some stuff going on at the same time. But still… It seemed like they were getting better. Didn’t it seem like they were getting better?”
Munson shrugged, “The thing about Billy and Steve… they were soulmates. You don’t write music like that and not… it was like they had a second language, just for them. They were soulmates, I really believe that. Everything they did, everything that happened… they could only hurt each other that badly if… yeah.”
When I ask what they did to each other, Eddie and Chrissy just scooted closer together, like teenagers in a slasher, hiding from the killer. She laid a hand over his leg, her two stone diamond ring catching the sunlight.
“Steve never wanted Billy to be in the band,” Eddie shook his head, “but Jim had a soft spot for Billy. And Steve had… I mean Jim was…”
“Jim was like a father. To all of us.” Chrissy’s knee jiggled.
“We were this little tiny band from Nowhere, Indiana,” Eddie nodded, “And Jim believed in us.”
“I was just a junior exec at the time. I was put on the Kaleidoscope tour in case of catastrophic failure, which by the way it was,” Jason Carver is making risotto while we speak, the steam curling the lock of hair that falls over his face. “But it wasn’t my fault although I was high as hell on coke half the time. I guess I deserved to get fired. But Jim was the real deal. Gold records out the ass, best wife in the world, and his daughter, I mean… she was something else.”
They’re referring, of course, to Jim Hopper, producer on Kaleidoscope as well as Billy Blue and The Boys’ records, and the father of pop superstar Eleven aka Jane Hopper.
“Jim was…” Steve Harrington’s eyes always got a little misty talking about Jim, staring out over the ocean. “Yeah, I guess he was a little like my dad. My own parents were always gone. Which is like… I grew up so privileged so like I’m not saying… I just mean I grew up mostly by myself. And we were just so lucky he even agreed to listen to us when we got to LA.”
“I remember that night,” Joyce Hopper’s voice was raspy, cigarette-y in the way only old movie stars are. She’s a gorgeous woman in jeans and a gardening hat, speaking to me while she tends to her garden at her home in Castellammare. “He came home and said, ‘I have the next ones, the next big ones. Fuck, Joyce, they’re brilliant. Unpolished, but brilliant.’”
When I ask about when Jim discovered Billy Hargrove she just laughed.
“If Steve and the rest of The Boys were unpolished, Billy Hargrove was a fucking ten carat diamond,” She said. “But Steve’s band was Jim’s, and he could polish them up how he wanted. And then when he thought they were just right for it… he set the diamond.”
Jim Hopper was a big man, larger than life both in appearance and in personality. His fingerprints are all over some of the best hits of the decade.
Watching him on old interviews, there’s an immediacy to his presence that leaps off the screen.
“My daughter is the one who really found him. She snuck out with her sister and wandered God knows where. And she just… found him. Called me the next morning, saying ‘Dad, you have to hear this guy.’ He was playing in this… terrible club,” Jim said, tapping his cigar on the table of Merv Griffin’s set. “Absolute shithole, pardon my french. And he’s got a great voice, you’ve heard his voice, right?”
“I have,” Merv said.
“I had to get him out of there. He was a star.”
Billy Hargrove was a teenage runaway from San Diego when he came to LA in 1971.
“I had a girl’s backpack from my stepsister, eight dollars, and an extra pair of underwear. By the end of the next week? I had two more dollars,” Billy laughed. “But I got lucky. I met Heather.”
Heather Holloway was a showgirl at Wildwoods, a nightly revue. She found Billy at the backdoor, and took him to her apartment.
“She saved me,” He frowned. “Whenever I needed her most.”
Heather Holloway, Billy Hargrove’s first and only wife, died in 1979.
“I got a job singing at Sugar, this great gay club downtown. It was in the late afternoons, so I had a crowd of about… two. But those two brought two more,” Billy smiled, “Heather would talk me up to all the promoters. He’s a singer, he’s great, you’ll love him, he’s so cute.”
“He was an instant hit,” Sugar’s manager, Bob Newby, tells me by phone as well. “I did have to keep a couple of creeps off him, when he just started he was only nineteen. But even if you closed your eyes… he was a hit.”
“Guys used to think that because I was a part of the entertainment, I was fair game. And let me tell you, the novelty of that wears off mighty quick,” Billy shakes his head.
He shares a diary entry from his late wife of a night in April 1972. He came to her home with blood all over his face.
“Some guy thought because I was a fag…” Billy’s mouth twisted, but he went on, cradling the little marble notebook in his hand. “He could do whatever he wanted to me. When I fought back… he cracked a bottle over my head.”
He’s not just a piece of meat. He’s a person. I don’t understand these people. I just don’t understand, Heather Holloway wrote. I cleaned him up and he’s sleeping now.
The next diary entry is from a day later. April 12. Billy and I drove to Vegas and got married. When we spoke in the morning he said he was afraid for me too, even though I’m careful with the girls. He’s afraid of the cops trying to bust up the Wildwoods and picking me up. At least this way, he says. He and I can come home to each other. Look out for each other. Always. The groom wore band aids and his great velvet pants. The bride wore lavender. It was perfect.
“And lucky too. Because within a month… I met Jim,” Billy smiled. “And my whole life changed.”
Upside Down Records signed Billy Blue, unagented, in1972 and he spent the next year working on his debut album with Jim Hopper.
“I didn’t even realize, when it happened,” Billy shook his head. “A couple of girls came by after a show, wanting to talk to me, wanting to meet me. That wasn’t that unusual. But they were young, far too young to get into the club. And the little one, she was asking all these weird questions. Did I have an agent? Did I know if I had enough songs for an album? Weird fuckin’ questions. And then she said I have to meet someone. To be honest, I thought she was coked out of her mind when she said, ‘You have to meet my dad.’”
“I was not,” Eleven promised me, “coked out of my mind. But that’s just Billy.”
Eleven aka Jane Hopper, meets me backstage at one of her shows. She’s dressed in slouchy leather pants, to match her sister and drummer Kali Hopper.
“I knew he was something special. My dad was always talking about the IT factor. That thing that made a person something special. But I didn’t get it until I saw Billy Blue singing on that tiny stage,” She smiled. “He didn’t just have the IT factor. He was IT.”
It’s odd then, that Billy Blue’s first album had a surprisingly tepid response. His first single, in 1973, “Let Alone,” came in at only 26th for the month of April on the pop charts.
“People liked it,” Billy shrugs, “But I don’t think they knew what to do with it. You have my songs, these like… little pop love songs and ballads. I wasn’t that strong of a writer at the time. It was like half my songs, half covers. And so they’d book me, expecting fucking… Peter Frampton. And here comes this big queer with glitter on his nipples.”
But the lyrics of “Let Alone” would hint at his later songs, a hallmark simplicity that shone off his raw voice and poetry that hinted at a troubled past.
And if you were meant to care for me
You would, and that’s how it has to be
You said I couldn’t go on without you
Ha, look at me, looking brand new
At the same time, The Boys’ song “Paper Girl,” penned by Harrington, was number one.
She’s my paper girl
She’s my paper girl
Wakes me up every morning, right on time
She got me smiling, got my head in a whirl
Picture perfect, paper girl
“Billy didn’t have much commercial appeal. Sex appeal, yes,” Jason laughed, toying with Chrissy’s hair. “But for sales? That’s where The Boys came in.”
“I hated that name,” Eddie said, “To start with we were half girls.”
The Boys had already had a somewhat successful tour under their belt by the time Jim suggested a collaboration with Billy Hargrove.
“It was a nice, short tour,” Steve Harrington glances away when I ask about the first tour.
“It was a nightmare. Balls to the wall nightmare,” Robin Buckley’s voice is a warm crackle over the phone. “Steve went on like thirty overlapping benders at once.”
Her partner, soap actress Vickie Carmichael cackles behind her, at their home in Salt Lake City.
“The thing about Steve is… well… he’s never found a good way of coping with himself,” Robin huffs. “Music was about as close as he ever got. But in those early days, he just kept looking for more and more.”
“You don’t think it was about-” Vickie asked, just barely into the phone.
“No.”
“It was about Nancy,” Eddie said confidently when I mentioned their first tour. “Nancy, Nancy, Nancy.”
The Boys got their start in the late sixties, beginning with Eddie and Steve. Eddie gave Steve guitar lessons, which turned into some talent show performances. They used to practice at Eddie’s Uncle’s trailer.
“That’s where we got the name,” Eddie nodded, “My uncle used to just call us that, and it stuck.”
“I don’t even remember,” Chrissy said.
“That’s not how we got the name,” Steve shook his head, when I mention Eddie. “It was our first gig, after we got Chrissy and Robin. Robin put it down after the headliner kept asking when ‘you boys’ would go on, and kept addressing it to Chrissy’s chest. She blew him out of the fucking water.”
Nancy Wheeler was there that night, writing about local bands for a tiny column in the school paper.
“She was beautiful. Smart. So smart. Could hear her talk forever,” Steve said, eyes falling.
Steve Harrington and Nancy Wheeler were married in 1972 after they graduated high school.
“Steve made his own choices,” Chrissy shook her head.
That summer, the Boys plus one drove to LA and Nancy Wheeler took a job at Women’s Day Magazine and later, Rolling Stone. Steve Harrington and The Boys got a “steady gig” at La Bonita Rosa on the strip, playing for drunks every night from seven to eight.
“I really liked playing at La Bonita,” Steve said. “The audience, right there. You could smell the sweat. You could see on their faces if you were bombing. And we used to bomb. A lot. But it was a great place to try things. Experiment. We played there for about a year but… it felt too short.”
Within the year they had met Jim Hopper, who got them into the recording studio and sold their demo nearly on the spot to Upside Down Records.
“They had a great sound. They had got this way of playing. Smooth like a polished stone. Everything sounds good sitting in a frame like that,” Jim said in an interview with Rolling Stone in 1981. “Their songs were… catchy, but basic. But they had the sound.”
Upside Down records set the Boys on a US tour after “Paper Girl,” and “Joy to Love You,” both charted.
“It was like… overnight. One day we’re in a studio, messing around. Kid stuff. I was nineteen,” Steve Harrington shookhis head. “But…”
“That tour,” Chrissy trails off, playing with her ring again.
“I…” Steve Harrington scratched his nose. “I was losing it. Majorly losing it. It felt like we had just moved to LA and we were already neck deep. I mean, I had a number one fucking song. And for some reason I got it in my head to call my mom. She told the maid she wasn’t home. And I could hear her over the phone. My mom. So yeah. I lost it. Lost about half my damn mind on that tour. And people will say it was because of Nancy, because we got married just out of high school, and she wasn’t supportive… but that wasn’t true. Nancy saved me.”
“Nancy never wanted him to be in the band. But… she also didn’t seem to care that much either,” Eddie shook his head, “It’s… complicated. Love is supposed to be. Simple. Like the chords of a song. 1-3-5.”
Jason Carver rolled his eyes at that, “Then what are we?”
Eddie grinned, “We’re a band.”
Nancy Wheeler met me on a Thursday in New York City, slim sunglasses dominating her small porcelain face. We get lunch at her favorite deli shop, and she perches at the counter, loafers dangling. She’s an editor at The New Yorker now, but she still has a soft spot for rock and roll, as evidenced by the Grateful Dead t-shirt under her blazer.
“That tour. I didn’t even know anything was wrong. He just came home with a funny look on his face, saying, ‘We’re headlining.’ So I said, ‘That’s great, Steve.’ He just kept… saying it. It was starting to piss me off, if I’m being honest,” She shook her head. “I should have known something was wrong.”
“I wish she had stopped me. But how could you know right? Hindsight is always 2020,” Steve Harrington said. “I mean, she was my wife. How could she not want me home? But that’s just… sorry. That’s not fair to put on her. I chose to go.”
“I flew out to meet them when they were in Indianapolis, visited my family, and I came a day early to see him,” She smiled warmly, and then it fell. “He was… Well, first, Eddie Munson tried to intercept me at the hotel, so I wouldn’t see him. I told him, ‘I’m here to see my fucking husband.’”
Steve Harrington didn’t add any more details about the tour, just shrugged when I asked.
“He was coked up like you wouldn’t believe,” Robin scoffed. “She walked in on him with two girls and coke all over his… well.”
“I just asked him. Do you want to come home? Do you want to get help? Or not?” She purses her lips. “And so he came home and we found a rehab place near Hawkins.”
“The tour kind of… fell apart. Obviously. We had lost our lead singer and guitarist to fucking… Hawkins, Indiana,”
Everything stopped for the Boys. Upside Down offered to let them out of their two album contract, but Steve couldn’t afford to pay it down.
“Rehab,” He shrugged. “Is expensive.”
Right as it seemed that everything would be over for the Boys, things were looking up for Billy Blue.
“Jim was always saying, ‘the record is selling alright, the songs are getting there but he needs a… push,’” Joyce said. “‘He’s so close. So close. He’s a star.’”
“He always believed in me,” Billy smiled, toying with his ring again. “Always. Even when I threw a jug of milk at his head.”
Joyce laughed when I asked about that moment, “He came home saying, ‘He milked me, Joyce. But he’ll fix the song tonight.’”
“And I did,” Billy said. “And the album was going alright. I did a little tour, socal and the southwest. And then one night, Jim brings me this song. He said, ‘I want you to tell me what’s missing from this.’”
The song was, of course, the Boys’ biggest hit, “Hades.” Steve Harrington’s first version was called, “To Orpheus” and the chorus goes:
Don’t turn back don’t look behind you baby
I’m close, I’m right behind
The future's so bright, and I want you to take me
Wanna be holding your hand when I make it across the line.
“It was fine, but just kind of… nothing. It was supposed to be about Eurydice, but it was so… nothing. She just loved Orpheus and that was it. There were no insides to her. She was going to follow him to her doom,” Billy shook his head. “That’s not right.”
This was not the version that made it to the recording booth, of course. The Boys’ single, “Hades featuring Billy Blue,” came out in 1975. The actual chorus goes:
Turn back on me and I won’t forgive you baby
Don’t want you to see me like this
Up ahead is bright, and I want you to take me
If you’re strong enough to cross that finish line
“‘Hades,’ was a real step forward for the Boys. Gone were the teenybopper tunes,” Steve Harrington’s biographer and personal friend Dustin Henderson wrote in his book The Pretty Boy. “Their first album got the kids dancing. But the second proved that they actually had something to say.”
“Still hate it,” Steve Harrington said. “I wrote that song in rehab. It was deeply, deeply personal to me.”
“He came out, all ready. He wanted to start recording right away,” Robin sighed. “Like I mean the next day. All these songs, just pouring out of him. But the label had lost faith in us. And they certainly weren’t going to let us start recording with a guy who had only just earned his thirty day sober chip.”
“The song wasn’t ready,” Billy shook his head. “But I guess he was. Jim said he needed this. So Jim asked if I would come and like… pitch some stuff as a personal favor. Songwriting credit, that’s all it was supposed to be. Get the songs moving, get them going.”
Steve Harrington takes a long time to continue speaking about it.
“I felt it, writing for that album. I felt proud of those songs. They didn’t belong to anyone else but me,” He toyed with some piano keys while we talked, and then finally sat down and began to play something tuneless and half formed.
“That album was all about Nancy,” Chrissy said. “I mean. I know it. You know it. Nancy knew it. And she kind of hated it. But-”
“You can’t leave your husband right as he gets out of rehab,” Nancy said to me, toying with her wedding ring. “When he writes all these songs about how you’re the only thing… Steve was always like that. Heart wide open. That’s why when he met Billy. I almost thought… it would all be okay. That sounds fucked up but. I thought they could save each other. That the music could save him.”
“It was just a songwriting credit,” Billy raised his hands. “Jim swore up and down. I was just gonna come in there and sit down with this guy Steve. But when I walk into the studio, there’s two mics set up.”
“I was the Boys’ only singer,” Steve Harrington shook his head. “And to be absolutely honest, I was kind of a jackass about it. So to have some guy come in and say he’s gonna sing me my song… well…”
“Steve was the only one who would ever argue with Jim, And he let him have it that day,” Eddie laughed. “He called him the most low down, dirty, rat bitten bastard in California, and that he would die rather than give up his band to someone else.”
“I did not want his band. I did not know his band. And I did not care. And his song sucked. And I told him so. And then I sang it. Better.” Billy smiled.
“Billy was…” Chrissy shook her head. “Incredible.”
I ask Steve what Billy was like that first day in the studio.
“He was,” Something passed over his face. “Alright. He has a great voice, alright.”
“I was good. Better. Best.” Billy smiled.
“But he didn’t understand the song. He wanted Eurydice to… doubt. To think she wasn’t going to get out,” Steve slammed his hands on the keys. “It’s been… almost twenty years. I still don’t understand it.”
I asked why he let Billy stay. But Steve doesn’t have an answer.
“They were like oil and water, right away,” Chrissy said.
“Yeah, but oil on the water can catch fire,” Eddie shrugged.
“Jim asked me to stay,” Billy looked away from me, down at his waffles. “It was a favor to the label.”
“If Billy said louder, Steve said mute,” Robin snickered. “It was kind of great, actually. Finally someone called King Steve on his shit. One day I came in and they were arguing over how close the microphone should be to your throat. Almost got in a physical fight over a fucking microphone. I mean, I love Steve. But he always thinks he’s like… the babysitter. It’s his job to do everything for everybody.”
“Like who was this guy? Really? He came into my studio with no shirt on, most of the time still half smashed from the night before, and he thinks he can make all these changes. But Jim keeps telling me it’s just business, the label thinks it’s good business.” Steve frowned, and then smiled, and then frowned again.
“Yeah, I never wore shirts back then. Or underwear,” Billy said with a grin. “I was a rockstar!”
“Steve fought for every song on that album,” Nancy Wheeler patted her lips primly with a napkin. “He only lost on one.”
“Billy Hargove has songwriting credit and lead vocals on “Hades.” Dustin Henderson wrote.
“Billy was all over that album. He’d make some minor suggestion, maybe this chord instead of that, this word is better. And Steve would flip out, yell at him, yell at Jim, threaten to storm out… and then two days later quietly tell me to change the chord, he’d start singing the new words. Billy was there with us about every single day,” Eddie said.
“Of course, it was our biggest hit,” Chrissy laughed. “Everything but that song, Steve did what he wanted. Oh we had Billy in the studio, making suggestions. But Steve did what he wanted except for ‘Hades.’ Jim said that song is the album, and he wouldn’t cut it.”
“Jim was always right,” Steve closed the piano. “The bastard.”
Hades exploded onto the radio in late 1975. They didn’t have the same distribution as their first record, but the Boys had another hit.
“Billy had this way of singing it. Still does. He broke four mics when we recorded it. Singing so loud I had to keep an eye on the cymbals to stop them from shaking. You can feel him, right in your chest.” Chrissy giggled. “Like he was trying to wake all the dead from Hades. If anyone could, he could.”
“It’s a really, really great song,” Robin said.
This song belongs to Billy Blue, Rolling Stone wrote in 1976. The only question now is, what will The Boys do next?
“I remember that article. Fucking… Harrington said that he basically wrote the whole song. But he said, ‘the label thought bringing Billy in was a good idea,’” Billy gets tense for the first time. “I’m not saying I was like… I just mean. It would have been nice. To treat me like an equal. I’m more than just a singer. I’m not just… a piece of meat.”
“Billy was really pissed about that article. I remember, the day after the article came out, we were getting breakfast at this tiny place off La Cienega. Steve had this car back then, a big maroon BMW, and Eddie had got him a vanity plate when he bought it. Stupid thing it said, ‘BIGBOY.’ Anyway, We’re having breakfast, and we hear this screech outside, like an accident,” Robin Buckley gets uncharacteristically quiet as she goes on through this story. “Billy’s car is parked halfway out of the parking lot, and he comes in like a bull in a charge. Billy… he wasn’t some wimpy guy. He was small, but he was strong as hell… He came right over and grabbed Steve by his collar and lifted him right off the counter. And he said, I’ll never forget it because Steve used to recite it from memory, yell it at me, ‘Tell me I’m not dreaming. Is that Steve fucking Harrington? The lead singer of the Boys. Hey man, I love your song ‘Hades.’ How’d you get your voice to sound halfway decent for once?’”
“I don’t remember that,” Steve Harrington said flatly when I asked.
“And Steve used to be a fucking dick in high school. So he starts getting real bitchy, shoving Billy off him, asking what his problem is, why he’s such a dick all the fucking time, when it’s not even his band. And Billy said something like, ‘No one wants your shit band. Not with you in it,’” Robin paused for a moment. “And they just. Stare at each other. Like… daring each other to do something.”
Billy just shrugs when I ask, “I was pissed. I gave this guy a number one hit, and he still wanted to treat me like some… airhead singer the label brought in as a stunt. I’m not just a singer. I’m not a piece of meat. I’m a person.”
When I ask Steve about that day he’s pretty quiet, deflated at his piano. He only wants to talk about the song. The music. Can’t seem to talk about Billy any other way.
“He sang it like he not only knows Orpheus can’t save him, but that he won’t. It was supposed to be hopeful. A happy ending.” Steve said.
“So you still hate the song?” I asked.
“No, I don’t. It’s brilliant. And that’s the whole problem.”

Dazai Husband!?!
Fluff, crack, suggestive/smut, dazai being dazai might be occ
Got these promots from my bot, but I just want to special rant about how I feel they would be as a husband. There is no mention of a strict gender but pregnancy is mentioned.
Dazai is a fun-loving husband. Goofy if anything.
You dated him and supirseingly kept long enough around him to make him want to tie the knot.
Probably calls you belladonna, darling, love, my wifey/hubby.
He goofs around a lot, making to make you laugh. God, he loves making you happy.
He loves your affection and, at any given point, needs to have to be touching you. Literally lives off of your body and affection.
Would let you change his bandages. This is a high step in life that he trusts you with the skin he hides. If you litter it with kisses, he just may cry or just look at you in almost devotion.
Never takes off the wedding ring. It's his second comfort to him if you are not around and in his hold. Bro, dead ass keep ranting to the Agency till the point Kunikida knocks him in the back of the head to shut the hell up.
This man isn't so sure about kids but is willing to make you happy. Would he even be a good father? He is not sure it is mixed.
I mean, he is practically acting like a kid, so he would say that. "I'm your baby."
But it doesn't stop him from thinking of seeing you with his own children. He grows nervous if you ever ask him for a child. He thinks he is not good enough to be a dad.
But the thought to get you pregnant with his child or see you full of his release drives this man feral.
He also will get jealous but plays it off. oh, like. That's my ass. Seriously, he would slap your ass in public. Ha have no fucking shame. I say this alot Don't test this man. He would just randomly squeeze your ass or chest.
Like ever see that tiktok of two people standing together and the one lower hos hand to the person ass only to get the placement fix. Yea, that's him.
Also is a thight man. He would sleep, leave love bites, or ask to squeeze his head. Don't get this man started. Full-on loves you no matter what, no matter what body shape. He married you for your personality.
He is also very bold when talking. He was never afraid to speak. Would speak his mind so this would lead to interesting things....
This man also loves to give you love bites. Your cooking boom love bite on the back of your neck. Sleeping, and he has his head on your shoulder boom love bite. No merry from this man. He likes to leave it in spots where it's clearly visible as well.
Don't even mention insincerity to him because he would softly make love to you all night till you admit they are beautiful/handsome. He loves you a lot and wants them to see how they see them. The most precious thing on this earth to him.
He is a fun husband and is willing to do anything to see his beloved you happy.
You two share a small apartment that the Agency gave you two. Not a lot, but it still brings a sense of home to dazai. He probably got his back if his head slap for the mess, but it was home where you are.
Dead ass shares a futon. Bro can't afford a lot then, well now he is saving up a ot since he is no longer trying to k-s or drowning in that God forsaking river.
Resson to live to tbh. You're his full-on resson not to go yet. [If I dare see chapter 109, I will Wright angst don't test my ass.]
Deadass can't cook, can heat up food but cook hit somehow burn it. If you can, he literally dies for your cooking. Yeah, the first thing to get to a man's heart is his stomach. You made butterflies in it and now warthm from your cooking.
Lovemaking comes down to how he is feeling. He likes to be top, he wants to give you as much pleasure as you wish for. Sometimes letting you top if wanted. But this man is so weird and really badly honry.
Only for the fact that he has someone he can trust. Let dow. The wall he holds so high to his mysterious personality.
I can see it going two ways. Pure blissful moments with you as he makes love. Praising and keeping you even so softly. Other love in a roughly matter. Holding your neck, calling his pretty little sl-t, wh--e, etc. Like there is no tomorrow. Probably still you can't even baffle other words right.
He has no shame like I did before, so make just maybe if he feels like pulling a risk, he does yo uin the Agency. I believe he likes to do it at home, so when he does, he can give you the most loving aftercare.
Baths together are caling and nice, peaceful moments when he not being a chaotic shit in society.
Doesn't know why you love him so much. Sometimes, he thinks back to his old days. Yes, the past is in the past, but worry holds his heart. What if mo-i uses you against him? What if he loses you one day?
Bonus points if you came from him from the Mafia, when he was 18. Or in the mafia.
He probably squeezes you tightly in the night. Like very tight. He doesn't sleep some nights but when he does it feels more peaceful...less nightmares seem to haunt him when your In his arms.
Matching items! Yutaka, phones just name it. He's corny, alright sue his ass if you dare.
Spell check? - uh huh

| notes; 34. yes? no? ( half written )
[ synopsis; there’s a cute girl that always sleeps in your intro pysch class. she just so happens to be ginger AND your dorm neighbor ]
YES? NO?;
haerin,
you said freesias were your favourite flowers, so i got some for you! hope you like them :)
i heard normal freesias symbolise friendship and trust, but i don’t really like that. i don’t think that fits us. white freesias symbolise innocence and purity; fits us a little more, don’t ya think? they’re also used a lot in wedding ceremonies (could be us one day). nah i’m kidding. unless..?
um this is kinda awkward for me, so bear with me please. you know, intro pysch wasn’t the first time i noticed you. i remember seeing you for the first time when we were in high school actually, i never knew who were, just knew that you were that one cute girl from the class down the hall. cute girl from down the hall. has a ring to it, no? and when we got into college, i was kinda glad when i saw you. i was really relieved to see a familiar face, even though we never ended up talking. then i saw you were in my intro pysch class, like what are the odds of that? okay, i’m stalling.
haerin, i think you’ve realised this but i really like you. crazy how this started from me just writing notes for you. well, i mean i’ll still write them for you if you want, i won’t stop. unless you tell me to, which i think would be dumb, because as much as i like you.. you’re kinda failing. no judgement, i swear, just an observation. okay, i’m ranting again. well? is it really considered ranting if i’m writing this? like wouldn’t ranting mean im saying it? okay i’ll stop im sorry. i mena it though, i really like you. it’s okay if you don’t like me back, i just wanted you to know.
with love,
y/n <3
as she read the letter, the soft smile that haerin sported kept on widening - which didn’t go unnoticed by her dormmate (unfortunately for her, not for you though).
you jumped up from where you were sitting on the couch, earning a shriek from hanni and sprinted towards your room. you ripped a piece of paper out of your notebook, grinning as you scribbled messily;
be my gf?
[ ] yes [ ] no
leaning back to admire your work (it really wasn’t that impressive), you felt a rush of happiness, a flight of butterflies released into your stomach. you folded the note before you jogged back into your living room, reaching for the door knob.
“y/n, what the fuck was that? you scared me, asshole. wait, where are you going?”
“haerin.” that seemed to be enough of an explanation for hanni as she let out an approving hum and turned to resume scrolling on her phone. she’s a weird one, you thought.
you walked over to the dorm next door and plopped yourself down on the floor. you slid the note under the door, something you’ve done countless times before - but this time it was different. leaning your back onto the door, you heard squeals from the other side. now that was definitely danielle. you started grinning and quietly laughing to yourself, gaining some judging looks from students walking down the dorm halls. but you didn’t care because haerin likes you back. you felt like you were back in high school again, the giddy feeling returning as you felt a nudge near your hand, a note being pushed onto your side of the door. you rushed to unfold it;
be my gf?
[x] yes [ ] no
“oh my fucking god.”

Penthouse
54 days left till sunshine is back. That called for celebration. Here is a 5k words one shot that I wrote based on my dream. Haven't spelled checked it. Incredible fluff, domesticated Hoseok.
You were excited and really couldn’t fall asleep that night. Because tomorrow early in the morning your still new and fresh husband is going to be released from the military and your life together is finally about to start.
You knew each other for a while, dated for a bit but it wasn’t really anything official or intense. You were definitely very much excited about the prospect of seeing Jung Hoseok, him and only him. But before things progressed anywhere near you two being in an established relationship he had to enlist. It was planned and part of the future for the other members and that wasn’t a negotiable.
How did you end up married then before actually dating? He really wanted to see you, he tried really hard to progress the relationship but it was so difficult and he wouldn’t be able to use all of his holidays the way he wanted. He called you a few times, texted a lot and send you pictures every week. It was going on for months. And when he finally managed to see you in person he just sat you down and went into it straight without thinking too much about it and said ‘I know we haven’t been official, i know we haven't done a lot of the things that people do when they date. But once i get out of here there might not be another better time to do this’. He knew the media wouldn’t let him in peace and someone would of leaked the fact that he got married. ‘You mean a lot to me, and i always dated with the idea of dating to marry. So lets just do it. You can move into my flat and make it homey before i actually leave here. I know its a crazy idea but.. just think about it!’. His idea was indeed crazy. So according to him he you were already dating and he just wanted to ensure that your life will be easier, with him as an idol constantly in the spotlight. This was the only way to keep you as a secret whilst having you around and taking things slowly as you both please. Jung Hoseok was the most interesting and loyal person you met. He was so good to you, he treated you with upmost respect from the day you started hanging on more of a personal level. He was really handsome, really sharp features on his face, pointy noise, gorgeous eyes always locked on you and the most gorgeous smile you have ever seen in your entire life. And he was interested in you. HA! He wanted to marry you in secret during his military service and have you move into your future house. You must have been crazy to say yes right?
‘Yes!’ You said after a few minutes of silence and your not really proper consideration.
BTS’s J-Hope Acquires Luxurious $8.6 Million Penthouse in Cash - the next thing you see are this headlines in the news.
‘He did what?’ You think to yourself. ‘He lost his mind!’ As you read another article about how he purchased this very luxurious place. And you couldn’t help but think, that you will indeed be living in that place in few weeks.
He wore his full dress uniform, you wore a very plain but beautiful beige dress, that definitely looked like a wedding dress. It was the right length but without the awkward whiteness you didn't like. It was very official, there was nobody around but him, you and the official in the cities office. The poor man was made to sign an NDA and so were you. And you hesitated, but you did hire a lawyer before it was drafted. So you knew exactly what were you getting yourself into. All of those details took away any romantic atmosphere. Everything but the way he was looking at you. He really wanted this and you couldn’t help but get butterflies every time he looked at you this way.
There was no kiss, no party. You did however share rings and had a cake in a tiny cafe around the corner from the office.
‘I can’t believe we have done this’ you said still in shock, giggling and sipping your coffee through a straw.
‘I promise i make it worth it’ he said lovingly, slightly brushing his hand over yours. The very first sight of his affection that day.
Two weeks later all of your luggage arrived at the exact same luxurious penthouse that Hoseok bought for 8.6 million USD. ‘This is ridiculous’ you said to yourself looking for furniture online. He left you his card, he didn’t expect you to furnish the place especially because it was ridiculously big and as much as you declined his offers to combine your finances you couldn’t afford buying anything for this kind of place. Knowing he will be going live from home, taking so many selfies for his socials. The place needed to be cool. You really like the main room with the huge windows with a view out for skyscrapers in Seoul. You knew exactly what kind of sofa would look good there so you went straight to the search.
But tomorrow. Tomorrow morning is the day he will finally come home. You still had no idea what to expect. He called you regularly, once a week and texted at least once a day after you got married. He often told you what he ate that day and did mention few times that he misses you. But there was still so much ahead of you. You were so excited you really couldn’t sleep, so you ended laying on the sofa you ordered few months ago and lay and look at the huge windows and enjoy the sunrise. But because you haven’t slept, your eyes were getting heavier and heavier from minute to minutes. You knew you could sleep for hours, because you were sure there will be events planned for Hobis discharge, v live at the company, drinks with the members. You will be lucky to see him today. But you were still so so excited. And you gave up to your eyes and finally fell asleep. Covered only half way with a fluffy blanket, with your phone on the floor. It buzzed few times but you were really gone for good.
Card beeped and the door unlocked. Heavy boots slowly tapping on the wooden floor. Red baseball cap on his head, full uniform, huge backpack that he left by the door. He went into all of the rooms partially admiring the furniture he saw from the pictures you have sent him. But he was definitely looking for you. And then, he finally found you on the fluffy sofa in front of the gorgeous view. Sound asleep.
He couldn’t help but smile. He slowly made his way to the sofa, covered you more with the blanket and sat by you legs. Admired you for a minute, with a wide smile on his face. He couldn’t believe you waited. He leaned forward, sniffing the sweet scent you had about you, and slightly moved your hair to the side to place a warm kiss on your forehead.
You moved. Your legs slightly felt resistance and you opened your eyes. And there he was. Right above you, caught red handed with a huge smile on his face, still holding your hair to the side. You froze.
‘I’m finally home!’ he whispered and your mouth slightly opened. Your eyes got bigger as you realised how close he was.
‘Hoseok I didn’t expect you so early! What happened?!’ You managed to put together a sentence still in shock, as he hasn’t moved an inch. He didn’t respond, but widened his smile and started softly brushing your cheek with the back of his palm. ‘I thought you had an entire schedule for today! You need to let Armys know! The members need to see you too!’ You continued but he chuckled starting at you lovingly.
‘I needed to see my wife first. She always comes first, even before the members and armys’ he answered and grabbed your hand and closed in his two.
‘I’m hardly your wife Hobi. We still have so much to…’ he didn’t let you finish your sentence, as he pulled you to himself and kissed your lips very softly. You accepted the invitation, as much as in shock you were you were daydreaming of kissing him since the day you saw him in the office in his full dress uniform. Nah. Since the day he asked you to marry him, when be wouldn’t stop explaining his great idea. And he was finally home. Musky scent mixed with sandalwood of his perfume lingered around him, as the kiss progressed further and he was now exploring your throat with his tongue. As he kept pulling you closer to him, you ended up getting up slightly and crawling onto his lap, without breaking the kiss. He grabbed your ass and sat you closer as he aggressively attacked your lip and bit it so much it broke and started bleeding. You hissed but didn’t stop kissing him back and exploring his back with your hands.
When you finally broke the kiss, he sat back on the sofa and sighed loudly.
‘I was having dreams about this’ he admitted, softly touching your bleeding lip with the tip of his finger.
‘You did and forgot to inform your wife about it? I could have been more prepared’ you giggled, leaning forward a little bit more relaxed and placing a kiss on his cheek ‘Welcome home husband’ you pouted into his face and chuckled afterwards.
‘My wife sounded really innocent and cutesy over the phone, she was really shy and I didn’t expect her to sit on my lap the second i walk through the door’ he pointed out as he looked at you again and he froze. His eyes were glistening as he stared so deep into your eyes almost like he was staring into your soul. And he was smiling. It was the warmest smile you have seen. And it was now all yours.
‘So about the schedule..’ you muttered under your breathe not really knowing what will happen next. You were a little anxious as now he will be in your space a lot of more, or rather you in his. You knew you would have to be more careful now around media and leaving the place with caution.
‘I’m going to Hybe later. I need to do the vlive like Seokjin hyung did. And I know I didn’t discuss it with you yet but I have invited everyone here in the evening’ he looked a little bit nervous, but you didn't have any plans and the place was in a presentable state, so there was no objections for this to not happen.
‘Of course, that sounds like a great plan! I will stay at my friends tonight then..’ you smiled hearing the plans for today. You reached for your phone that was still on the floor instinctively but he stopped you grabbing your wrist and bringing you back to his face.
‘Why? You live here, we live here. There is absolutely no need for you to leave when the guys arrive. Besides they need to finally meet you’ he added holding both your hands in his. He was just so sweet and considerate and he was providing it to you over and over how serious he is about the two of you.
‘But I thought we, and I have to be kept a secret’ you hesitated.
‘Not from the members jagiya. I trust them with my life’ he chuckled at your words and patter your head lovingly.
‘I will follow your lead’ you smiled and fell on his chest. You weren’t sure were all this confidence came from but you really just felt at home for a second so you didn’t overthink it and just acted on it. He wrapped his arms around you and pulled you closer to him.
‘I really did miss you. I was really excited for this. And… I am really grateful that you waited. I certainly don’t deserve to be waited on for this long, not even mentioning the marriage…’ he whispered into your ear, whilst slowly glowing through your hair as he kept you in his embrace.
‘You are special’ you answered into his chest loud enough for him to hear. His perfect fresh scent kept lingering around you as you were holding onto him. His heartbeat was crazy, but the longer you layd on his chest the calmer it became.
‘Right sunshine, I need to take a shower and change my undershirt before I head out again’ he slowly pulled you up and you swiftly moved away to make room for him and he got up from the sofa. ‘The place looks better than on face-time and the pictures you have sent me’ he added looking around with a little bit levelled head.
‘I kept space for the pieces I told you I wanted you to pick, but it doesn’t look too empty without them for now’ you eagerly added as you got up from the sofa and you grabbed your phone and slid it into your sweatpants pocket. He picked up his backpack and started unpacking few bits, clearly looking for something through the pouches inside.
‘Lost something?’ You giggled invested into his search.
‘Just shower gel and shampoo and..’ you stopped him and grabbed his wrist.
‘Put it down’ you instructed pointing at the backpack and he did. Then very intrigued looked where were you leading him. And you lead him through the dining room and a hallway to the master bedroom and then left to the bathroom. ‘Everything is ready here in your room and your bathroom’ you pointed at shelf in tiles, fresh towels ready to be used and a cloth for his skincare. He smiled widely and he felt really warm inside. You really did prepare it for him and waited for him. He felt so lucky. But then he realised and dwelled on your words. He also noticed the bed was spotless and clearly unused.
‘Thank you, this… this is perfect but hold on a minute. My room? My bathroom? Where do you think you are staying?’ He got a little bit nervous, because he didn’t want to pressure you and wanted you to be comfortable but at the same time he was really excited to explore all the unexplored with you.
‘I slept in the guest room for the past few months. Its your house Hoseok.. i cant just, put myself everywhere like…’ you didn’t finish because you saw his expression change to slightly less happy and more disappointed ‘Besides, i will still be around. We promised to take things slow and as they feel fit and natural. And up until before 5 minutes ago we never even kissed..’ you continued and became nervous. You weren’t rejecting him but it was only natural to not skip steps and get comfortable around each other. His expression changed again to more pouty.
‘I understand and thats okay. But i cant promise i wont wander into your room and bed to get some cuddle time’ he pouted and started walking towards you.
‘Thats fine’ you chuckled but you stopped him few steps before he reached you ‘besides its nice to get ready in my own bathroom. Which speaking of you need to shower and get ready. You cant be late the first day back because of me. I will already think im no good for you’ you added and slowly pushed him towards the main bathroom.
‘Aiiishhh fine. I will still have a minute when im done. But before that…’ he grabbed you and pulled you into the bathroom and stood in front of a huge mirror that was covering one of the entire walls. He pulled his phone out of his pocket and grabbed you from behind ‘Say kimchiiii’ he giggled as he pointed the camera to the mirror whilst holding you with his other arm. You grabbed his arm and smile wide looking straight at the camera. When he clicked the picture you let go and turned around.
‘What was that?! Dont you think this is a little bit dangerous? What if you post it by accident..’ you pouted at him at the same time trying to see if the picture came out nicely.
‘I wont have an accident like that, besides i still want to have all the first memories with you documented. We are married after all..’ he chuckled, left a quick kiss at your cheek and let you go. Your heart flustered. You loved it. Every minute of this and the way he was and the way his lips tasted. The way he grabbed you with his strong arms, how soft he was around you and how genuinely happy he seemed.
You were nervous. Of course you worked with several idols before, ha you were now married to one but it was still really stressing you out to meet the 6 men who were the entire world to your husband. You wanted them to like you, you wanted them to be impressed with you, you wanted them to be happy for Hoseok. But none of them even had been in a official relationship, not even mentioning marriage. You straightened your shirt and french tucked it into your jeans.
‘Please dont worry, you have nothing to stress about’ he whispered into your ear as he stood behind you in your room seeing you play with the shirt for a while. Somehow he felt it. Somehow he knew you were stressed and he came to comfort you.
You didn’t answer but you reached for his hand and you squeezed it. You quickly let go of it as the door bell rang. You took a deep breath and swiftly followed Hoseok to the door. Three tall men with buzz cuts stood In front of the door.
‘Taehyungie, Jiminaahhh, Jungkooksieee come in please’ Hobi the host. They bowed in front of him and moved towards the hallway were you were standing.
‘Hoseok hyung… there is a woman here’ Jungkook turned his face to Hobi and froze for a second.
‘Yes. There is. Now stop acting like you have never seen one’ Hoseok chuckled and kind of scolded him for making things ever so slightly more awkward.
‘Ah, really nice to meet you’ Taehyung bowed and shook your hand. He never questioned anything and just accepted things as they were.
Jimin followed and also introduced himself and followed Taehyung into the room. Jungkook still half frozen just took his shoes off.
‘But hyung! Who is this’ this man had zero filter on this night.
‘I will explain everything when everyone arrives, i dont want to repeat myself’ he pushed him slightly towards the room others already gathered. Hoseok moved towards you and brushed your hand with his and whispered ‘I promise it will be okay’ and he lead you towards the room, holding onto your shoulder. Before you reached the dinning room the door went again. You looked at Hobi worrying but he nodded and you went into the dinning area whilst he took the door. Luckily it was the other three so no more trips to the door anymore. As you reached the room you heard Jungkook hassling Jimin ‘But why would Hyung do something like this’ and as you walked in they both stopped. You smiled politely and started looking for glasses for the table. Occupied with that task Hoseok walked into the room with Namjoon, Seokjin and Yoongi.
‘Oh! Whos this?’ Seokjin also didnt stop himself from a free comment.
‘Right everyone, lets get it out of the way before we get all into gossips’ Hoseok started and grabbed you closer. ‘We got married, six months ago. I wanted to do it when we are almost all still enlisted because i knew it would be bad if we decided later’ he just spit it all. Jungkooks jaw dropped. Yoongi started laughing quietly but he was the first to congratulate you.
‘Its just unexpected Hoseok, but we are happy for you. We all knew you will be first in these things anyway’ Yoongi smiled at the both of you and pulled his hand out to shake Hobis hand.
‘Ya, thats crazy. Hoseok you could of told us before…’ Seokjin came to hug Hobi and smiled at you politely.
‘We didnt really date for that long, so please dont drill or ask her any silly things. It was the best decision in the perspective of time and PR’ Hobi continued as he saw Jungkook still completely freaked out.
‘Hoba, im really happy for you. Looks like double celebration today!’ Namjoon hugged your husband and sat back down. Jimin and Taehyung holding hands under the table giggled but both also clapped their hands in approval. It was just Jungkook.
‘Hyung… I dont understand. I really thought you would be honest with me when I asked you who you were texting every time I saw you. Its not like we couldn’t keep your secret!’ He was just a little bit hurt and Hoseok hyung had a special place in his heart ‘im happy for you Hyung’ he huffed out and sat back still shaking his head in disbelief.
‘He wanted to tell you but I asked him not too. You see i didn’t even think we were dating when he thought we were. We saw each other quite a lot but it wasn’t ever on any of crazy serious terms, I had no idea I was even able to stick around until today.. please dont be upset with him’ you decided to tell the boys the truth, because at the end of the day it wasn’t Hoseoks fault this was kept in secret. The boys nodded and some of the awkwardness went away because Jimin was rocking on his chair back and forth and eventually hell from it. Everyone started laughing but you panically ran to him and asked if he’s fine.
‘This happens all the time, please dont bother yourself with worry. He has some unexplained beef with chairs’ Namjoon pointed out whilst Seokjin was nearly brought to tears with laugh. The evening went uneventful after that, Hoseok brought some alcohol from the pantry, a stack of food was ordered and delivered and devoured within few hours. Everyone explained how jealous they are of Hobi being finally free and Jin was excited to have his partner in crime back. They reminisced old times, concerts and events they really missed and as the night went by you were more involved in the conversations that you ever expected. Everyone was really sweet and kind and as Hobi promised, there was nothing to worry about. You saw he was getting progressively more red on his face as he drunk and because of that progressively more quiet but it gave you the chance to get to know the other members a little more. You weren’t star struck anymore, because they were just so normal and down to earth.
You were taking your make up off in your bathroom in the opposite side of the apartment. It was a long day, very exciting day but also very tiring because of all the emotions that you had to go through. You felt a little bit dizzy, every time you were reminded that Hoseok is indeed currently cleaning up from the table. All the little noises coming from the room made you chuckle as be was drunk and swearing to himself and to the dishes he was trying to put away. You continued with your routine to the sounds of the dishes when then all of a sudden they stopped. Complete silence surrounded you. And then you saw his face poke at your bathrooms door.
‘Hey’ he said smiling widely and staring you in the eyes through the mirror that you were using.
‘Hey’ you answer and smiled back at him. He took another step into the bathroom.
‘I cant believe you’re here and I’m home and i dont ever have to go back there…’ he started, heading towards you. You put your cream down and turned around to face him. ‘You know I really care.. you know I was really looking to getting all the steps done with you..’ he was drunk and his words were slightly slurring but he was incredibly sweet. From that sweet face however it soon changed into a cheeky expression and you thought to yourself maybe… but then you remembered he was drunk and thats not how you wanted the both of you to remember.
‘Hoseok you're tipsy’ you muttered lovingly towards him, severely downplaying the state he was in.
‘Just a little bit. At least I won’t be as shy..’ so he is shy. So you do make him nervous. Your eyes widened for a second. You were definitely thinking of checking out what is under that uniform. Realistically you did half know. There is no escape from the online world and you came across some of the half shirtless or shirtless pictures of him. But they were from years before and you expect for him to look different. Hes older, hes been through a active military service. And took one step closer to you and you gulped out loud. He noticed and immediately froze.
‘Its okay, im sorry I..’ he grabbed the back of his head and brushed through his really short hair.
‘Its okay, how about we stay in your room today?’ You asked and leaned over and grab his hand. It was a sweet move, it wasn’t suggestive at all and all you planned to do is maybe make out for a bit and go to sleep cuddled to him.
‘I thought you didn’t want to.. you know?’ He got all flustered which was incredibly sweet especially as he was so drunk.
‘Lets take it easy’ you turned the lights off in the bathroom and lead him out of your bathroom and bedroom across the hallway and dinning room to the master bedroom ‘Cuddles only! But first, get ready for bed’ you pointed at his bathroom and he nodded and followed your order. You made yourself comfortable in bed, untucked the fresh sheets and slipped inside. It felt so nice to be finally in bed. You heard him drop few things but eventually he turned the light off and emerged from the room. He run to the other side of the bed skipping from excitement. He untucked his side of the sheets and slipped inside. Instantly turned around to you, moved closer to you so now both of your faces layed on the same pillow. And every time he was so close to you, you felt this electric tease when your eyes locked. Your stomach would flip. You were absolutely obsessed with him. And it was only day one of your new life. He moved himself even closer to you, and you didn’t decline. He wrapped his arms around you, slowly dragged your body closer to his.
‘Im finally home’ he whispered and placed a kiss on the tip of your nose. You twitched slightly under his touch and smiled. He softly moved to your lips and started kissing you. Your brain went numb, your stomach flipped again and the butterflies started. His lips were so much softer now, his tongue so tempting trying to break into your mouth. But you let him. You got closer to him, he wrapped himself even more around you and you get kissing and the passion started growing in between the two of you, until one of you broke the kiss and cooled the atmosphere off. He turned you around and his body stuck to you. And because he was still slightly drunk and tired after an entire day of chaos, he stuck his nose behind your ear and whispered 'Goodnight Jagiya' and he closed his eyes. Both of you fell asleep, tangled together for the very first time.
***
Its been a month, exactly a month since he came home. 17th of November. The air has gotten really cool, there was occasional snow but never really lasted for good. It was the evening and you were walking down the road, towards a near by park with your not so new anymore - husband. You weren’t holding hands, because it was already risky to be outside together like that but it was really, really late and it seemed like the perfect weather for a walk. You could never shut up. Both of you. You absolutely adored each other and everyday whether it was on the phone or in person, at home would debrief about your day and what have you been up to and sometimes even shared pictures of what interested you or when either of you something interesting to discuss with one another. Your relationship remained a secret and you were both really happy about it. There was only one rule. Every time when Hobi came home, he was obligated to keep his ring on. Because he couldn’t really wear it outside even for the walk, it was too risky. But at home, at both of your sanctuary it was a very important part of his routine of coming home.
‘I can’t believe it has already been a month since I got discharged’ Hobi said to you, slowly walking by your side.
‘I know! It has been so crazy, but I haven’t regretted anything. Every since we met, ever since we got married. Even the wait, it was all worth it’ you smiled at him and you focused your eyes on him. It was a really good time to confess but you were really nervous, so you just kept putting it off.
‘Thank you for waiting for me. And for the faith you put into our very early on relationship that I feel has bloomed into something really beautiful’ he couldn’t stop smiling and giggling. He was so relieved and happy and finally felt like home.
You decided you won’t confess this time around and the two of you wondered around the park for a little longer and finally made your way back home.
You still haven’t done the deed, but every time the both of you went to sleep next to each other, you both wondered to make a move. Today however, coming home from that walk some kind of heavy, humid steamy atmosphere built up in the lift. You had your back to one side of the wall and he stood and was staring at your through the lifts mirror. When it finally made it to your floor and the door made a very specific sound, both of you rushed out of it towards your apartments door. Both just occasionally checking on each other. And when the door finally slammed behind you and both of you were safe at home, it all turned into chaos. His lips on yours, your lips on his neck, his hands undoing your bra under layers of clothes, your hand tangled into his slightly longer now hair. Both of you grasping air in between the passionate kissing and then it just slipped. Just like that.
‘God, I love you so much’ you moaned into his face. Hoseok froze. He didn’t move, he stopped his hands were they were at the time, he opened his eyes and locked them with yours. Both of you still heavily breathing, just staring at each other.
‘Come here, let me show you how much I love you’ he smirked back at you and picked you up bridal style, continued to aggressively kiss your lips whilst he made his way to your homes master bedroom, he shut the door behind the both of you and whispered to you ‘We won’t be leaving here for a while’.

The Corpse Bride (2005)
For today's October movie, I thought I'd revisit perhaps the most romantic film ever, about a corpse rising from the grave. My favorite of Tim Burton's stop motion, the opening scene of Victor releasing a butterfly from a jar, I think sets a nice message about the need to free others, and ourselves. Johnny Depp plays an awkward young man named "Victor Van Dort", who is being put into an arranged marriage, as the parents of Victor want better social standing, while the parents of Victoria (played by Emily Watson) who are have great social standing, but are penniless. It's when Victor is practicing his wedding vows in a nearby forest, that he accidently places the wedding ring on the finger of a bride who had been murdered by her groom. In the film, the world of the living is seen as dull and cold, while the land of the dead is livelier and more colorful. Victor goes from being terrified of the corpse bride, to growing feelings of attachment. In the end, things are worked out for the best. Great voice cast, including Christopher Lee as the Pastor, and Danny Elman performing as "Bonejangles". The music, from Danny Elfman sets the mood beautifully, and on my DVD, you have a music only setting, without the dialogue.

speak now m.m
what am i doing here?
i’m not supposed to be here.
this isn’t like me.
i’m not supposed to be sitting here, waiting for the man i love to get married to someone who isn’t me.
im not the kind of girl that should be here.
but neither again is he.
he shouldn’t be here, making the biggest mistake of his life by marrying the wrong girl
i look around at the venue seeing your friends laughing together and i turn my head looking at the people all dressed in their best pastel attire, with snotty looks on their faces.
i hear her before i see her.
she’s shouting at her bridesmaids, bless them.
‘what a lovely bride’ i think.
i turn and see her wearing what i assume is THE dress but i can’t decide as it looks more like a plump pastry.
this is not a wedding you’d expect him to be the groom of.
all this make my head dizzy.
just being here makes me go pale and feel as if a cage of butterflies have been released into my stomach.
as if he’s the one that’s marrying me.
maybe that’s why i’m here.
perhaps at the last minute i could snap him into his senses and make him meet me by the back door and we could ride off into the distance together.
maybe.
then comes the dreaded organ starts to play, as i slip behind the curtain ready to watch as the man i love is given away.
you come out in all your beauty mason. dressed in the nicest suit, which i’m guessing was his only choice in the wedding. he wears that gorgeous smile, which i can tell is fake, he looks gorgeous.
then she’s here.
strolling down the aisle, her head held high and makeup nicely done, that i feel angry and jealous.
but then one look on his face and i know.
i know that instead of her he sees me.
i just know it.
that’s why i just need him to look my way and confirm my thoughts. he doesn’t want her, he wants me.
but then i hear the preacher say the magic words.
“speak now or forever hold your peace”
it feels as if time has slowed down, as i emerge from the curtains, gasps sounding throughout the room from my objection. i regret it until he looks at me relieved. he turns and whispers his apologies to his bride and then begins his walk back down the aisle.
we can only look at each other.
and i feel at peace.
we grab each others hands and begin our new lives together.
a/n: i’m posting all these fics at once and i feel like they’re not good but oh well!

Anthony Bridgerton x reader
~A Letter To My Wife~
Description: When Anthony's mother, Violet Bridgerton, decides it's time for her eldest son to be married, she calls on her oldest friend. Your mother agrees to the union of both families, but you quickly come to realize your husband won't think of you as a wife.
Warnings: None
You remembered the day your mother told you about the arranged marriage. You had only seen him when you visited Daphne at Aubrey Hall. Visiting during the summers always left you feeling a sense of freedom. Forgetting that someday you will be married off to an older gentleman eager for an heir.
That's why when your mother told you who you were marrying, you were glad it was him. You looked forward to forming a friendship and, hopefully, one day, growing old together. You dreamt that night of the children you would have and woke up with a smile.
"I wish for our marriage not to have love. I want it to be strictly for an image." You stood there, a white gown with a veil over your head, hiding your tears as your father led you down the aisle. When he gave your hand to him, you couldn't help but look back, almost begging him for help.
The ceremony seemed to last an eternity. You were ready to depart from the church and feel the gentle breeze the outside offered. You felt him grip your hands tighter and only looked at him confused. The bishop repeated his question, and everyone held their breath only, releasing them when you said, "I do."
Feeling Anthony's hand move up to your veil, you missed the feeling of it when he tossed it back. He looked at your puffy eyes that were filled with tears looking away quickly. You noticed both of your families confused your sadness with happiness, not knowing the loveless marriage you would have.
As he led you towards the exit, you felt a strange feeling in your belly. It wasn't butterflies. It felt like acid, and it was slowly creeping up to your throat. You didn't bother looking at him and only waited for both families to congratulate you.
Once they exited the first one to congratulate the married couple was Violet Bridgerton. She gave you a hug before she moved on to her son. You waited there patiently for your mother, but she came last after your father. She pulled you aside and explained the wedding night you would have. Hearing what she told you, you couldn't imagine doing such a vulgar act with no love.
Once you left in the carriage, you took subtle glances at Anthony, only annoying him in the process. "Do you wish to say something to me, Miss Cupping? Oh, excuse me, Mrs. Bridgerton?" You sat there shocked at the witty response he had given you for staring. Not trying to ruin the marriage further, like it would matter, you stayed quiet.
It took a while to get to what you thought would be Bridgerton house, but instead, it was another. "Welcome to Petunia Estate. Your new home for now." You looked at him confused and glanced at the building before you.
"Will you be living here too, my Lord?" Anthony chuckled to himself and played it off as a joke. "Oh, heavens no. I will stay at the country estate with my family while you stay here." Before you could question him, he walked to the carriage and left quickly after.
You tried following the carriage before your maid, Adelaide, came after you. "My Lady! You must come inside! It is too dangerous at this time!"
You gave up and felt a teardrop fall onto your cheek. Your gloved hand reached for it, making you cry harder. Staring at it, you contemplated the life you would have.
A loveless marriage where your husband pretends you don't exist and would only treat you as a baby machine. You would never have the life you wanted. You would never experience raising your children with your husband. You would never be allowed to see his family with him, not there. You would never be allowed to experience falling in love and fighting for the relationship.
That's the life you wanted. That's the life you could only dream of.
Adelaide gave you a squeeze of comfort on your shoulder. She placed her arm onto your back and led you to your new home.
☆~☆~☆~☆~☆~☆~☆~☆~☆~☆~☆~☆~☆~☆~
As time passed, you had gotten used to the routine. Waking up, getting ready, eating, time for any hobby, eating, and sleeping. You quickly learned the joy of not having anyone, or more specifically, a husband bothering you. Anthony not being in Petunia Estate offered solace to you.
As Adelaide was helping you into your dress, you heard voices coming from the hallway. You looked at Adelaide, questioning her but only receiving a confused shrug. Before she was able to start on your hair, Hyacinth came rushing into your room.
"Hello, dear sister. I have not seen you in ages, how have you been?" You let out a chuckle, "Good morning to you, Hyacinth. I have been well, bored out of my mind without you."
Before you had gotten married, you briefly met Anthony's family, only clicking with Hyacinth. Her purity and laughter were what brought you hope and peace of mind. As well as the many promises she instilled on to you.
"Sister, have you sewn all the dresses I have asked you for?" Before you could answer, you heard another pair of shoes. "Hyacinth, she is not your sister. She is Vicountess Bridgerton." Locking eyes with Anthony only seemed to make you emotional. Ignoring him, you tried to lift up Hyacinth's spirit.
"Come, sister, I will lead you to your new dresses." Excitingly, she grabbed your hand and let you lead her to another room. Anthony followed, only looking at Hyacinth's smile.
Before letting his eyes shift to you. He couldn't explain it, but your eyes shone brightly. And your smile, oh your smile, was absolutely genuine and flawless. His eyes were on you for the remainder of the time with Hyacinth.
When you were done, you helped Hyacinth carry the boxes, laughing amongst yourselves. When suddenly you felt Anthony grab on to the boxes you were holding. Avoiding eye contact, he said, "a Viscountess should not be doing any manual labor."
"Viscount Bridgerton, it was only boxes. Additionally, I have had to carry much heavier-"
"Are you telling me the staff here don't help you?" Shocked, you looked at him and called onto your maid.
"Adelaide. Could you please show the Viscount and my dear sister to the carriage? I forgot another box that I meant to give to Hyacinth."
Adelaide nodded, bowing to you before leading the siblings to the carriage. You went back to your room, finding a ruby necklace and earrings. Running to catch the carriage, you yelled, "Hyacinth!"
The bubbly girl turned around, smiling at you before going to give you a hug. You quickly and tenderly reciprocated the affection kissing her on her temple.
"Hyacinth, this is a gift for you. It is a thanks for all of the love that you have shown me since the beginning. I hope you like it!" Hyacinth gasped and gently opened the box. A necklace with a delicate design along with earrings starred back at her.
"Sister! This is beautiful, I shall treasure it for the rest of my life." Once again, she gave you a hug that lasted longer. Smiling, you held her there until Anthony called onto her so they could leave.
She entered the carriage holding onto her jewels and waving goodbye to you. You waved back at her before noticing Anthony, looking at you. You turned to him, curtsied down out of duty, and made your way into your home.
What you failed to notice was Anthony reaching out for you. Having longing puppy eyes following you until the door engulfed your image. He let his hand join his side before he gripped his fingers together and joined Hyacinth in the carriage.
☆~☆~☆~☆~☆~☆~☆~☆~☆~☆~☆~~☆~☆~☆~
Another month passed, and today, you were going to visit the Bridgerton home. Before Anthony came to get you, you decided to wake up earlier and bake some cakes and cookies for the Bridgertons to enjoy.
Walking into the kitchen, you noticed one of your cooks, Henry. He was an older man who you had learned to see as your grandfather. You would join him in the kitchen to hear the stories of his travels and would occasionally let you taste the food.
"Good morning, Henry! It is nice to see you on this beautiful morning." You said before giving the man a kiss on the cheek.
"Good morning, to you too! Tell me, what are you baking today? But most importantly, how was your sleep."
"It was wonderful until I remembered I would have to see Anthony and go to his home."
Henry chuckled, "At least you will see Hyacinth there, and maybe you'll see your old friend Daphne."
"That's true, I look forward to seeing them today, at least." You turned away from Henry to collect the ingredients and supplies you would need. "I plan to make a chocolate cake with a strawberry filling, and some biscuits for tea."
"Will you need help before I start preparing for dinner tonight?"
"Yes, please, Henry! You make the best biscuits! Your cooking and baking are just delicious."
Henry helped you bake and prepare while having a conversation with you. He talked to you about his grandson, who had recently started school thanks to your contribution. You asked about his wife, Charlie, to which he could talk about hours.
Before you knew it, the cake and biscuits were in the oven before both of you noticed the Viscount. "I wondered where Viscountess Bridgerton had run off to. It was a good choice coming here earlier than what I had informed."
Henry, out of respect, bowed to Anthony. "I was helping Lady Bridgerton with her baking. She wanted to bake some sweets for your family."
"Is that so?" Anthony pushed his hands back before turning towards you. Before he could make eye contact with you, you turned to Henry hugging him.
"Thank you, Henry. I will be back for the cakes when we're about to leave, but I must look precentable before I do."
You called onto Adelaide so she could help you get ready. While she did your makeup, you asked, "Adelaide, when did Anthony arrive at the Estate?"
"Around ten past seven. He was eager to find you, my lady, saying he needed to speak to you. He waited at the entrance and asked me to come get you. When it was twenty-five past seven, he decided to look for you himself."
"And that's how he found me in the kitchen"
"Exactly, my Lady."
"Thank you, Adelaide. For your hard work." She curtsied before continuing with your hair. When you were finally ready, you made your way to the kitchen with Adelaide to get the sweets. As you were descending the stairs, you saw Anthony waiting for you out of the corner of your eye. You went into the kitchen smelling the heavenly smell of freshly baked sweets.
Adelaide helped you with the biscuits as you took the cake to quickly assemble and decorate. On your way out, Anthony pleaded he should take the cake so you wouldn't have to burn yourself. You answered that you were fine and walked away from him with Adelaide following behind you.
You had Adelaide join you inside of the carriage, so it wouldn't be so awkward having Anthony there with you, staring at you. You made a brief conversation with your maid before feeling the carriage come to a stop.
Anthony hurriedly got out before offering one of his hands to you. Instead, you took the cake and gave it to him so he could carry it for you. You heard Adelaide chuckle to herself before you exited the carriage.
You looked at the Bridgerton Estate and wondered how it would feel to live there. Remembering your routine, you quickly thought of not being able to enjoy your hobbies throughout the day. Having to please Mr. Bridgerton, and having to please the ton with their abrasive thoughts.
Quickly collecting yourself, you took the cake from the Viscount and made your way inside of the home.
Anthony smelled the faint and sweet fragrance of your perfume. He imagined waking up to your scent every morning: wanting to wrap himself around you at all times. He slowly smiled to himself before he felt a stare on him. Lady Danbury was greeting his wife while also looking at him with a sharp, judgmental stare.
He collected himself before offering to help Adelaide with the biscuits. To which she had also rejected, leaving him feeling embarrassed and useless.
☆~☆~☆~☆~☆~☆~☆~☆~☆~☆~☆~☆~☆~☆~
Entering the home's calling room or lounge area, you quickly heard Violet scolding her children for being too rowdy. "Please, could all of you behave before the Viscountess gets here?" You entered before anyone could have noticed your presence.
"Lady Bridgerton, this is their home after all. I do not wish to make them uncomfortable, let alone incredibly bored." Violet turned towards you before letting herself relax and offered you a hug. You pulled away, showing the Dowager Viscountess the cake and biscuits you had prepared.
"I have made this for today. I hope you enjoy them, they were made with much love." She looked at you endearingly before happily accepting the baked goods and placing them on the table.
"Sister! You have come!" You turned around and was immediately engulfed in a tight hug. Laughing, you picked up the girl while still hugging her and spun her around. Hyacinth giggled and dragged you to one of the coaches so she could share some chocolates with you.
Violet smiled at the relationship you had with her youngest and only wished for this moment to last longer. Then she remembered that her son was supposed to be with you.
"Y/N, where is Anthony? I thought he was supposed to be with you?"
"He did come with me, but Lady Danbury asked me to give them a moment together. It shouldn't be long until they come here." She only nodded at your response before sitting down next to Benedict.
☆~☆~☆~☆~☆~☆~☆~☆~☆~☆~☆~☆~☆~☆~
"Lord Bridgerton, it seems you have become infatuated with your wife. What happened to the loveless marriage you planned on having?"
"I have no idea or interest in what you are talking about. Excuse me for trying to help my wife." Lady Danbury only sighed out of entertainment and eyed the man up and down.
"We both know that is not true, or else you would have not sniffed the air to catch the perfume of your wife." Anthony felt caught and blushed red.
"It was a scent I had smelled on other ladies. It has become quite popular, it seems.'' Danbury only rolled her eyes before shoving her cane into his stomach.
"Don't be stupid, my Lord. You have feelings for said girl, and I advise you before another man learns of her situation and chooses to take advantage of her. She was sought out by the queen for one of her sons after all." With that, the Lady made her way with the rest of the family leaving Anthony to think.
' Is it true that men would want to take advantage of his wife.' Anthony felt himself become more series at the idea of men wanting to touch you. But he also recognized that he didn't talk to you or made any advancements to get to know you better.
What he did recognize was the strange feeling blooming from his heart. From the moment he saw you getting close to Hyacinth before the wedding had him imagining you as a mother. How gentle and serene you were had love blooming, and he couldn't shake off those feelings.
He wondered how it would have felt to take care of you on your wedding night. Would you be with child right now? Giving hope for the next generation of Bridgertons. Would you have a baby cradled around your arms? A mix of both him and you.
When he walked in, he stopped himself and caught himself staring at you. You had Augie in your lap bouncing him on your leg while also tickling him. The laughter of Augie could be heard around the room as well as your own.
"You'll make such a wonderful mother one day, dear." You would, thought Anthony. He couldn't take it anymore. He needed to talk to you and ask you to move into Bridgerton home with him. But he caught himself.
Would you even accept? What if you only had hate for him since your conversation before your wedding? What if you admitted to never loving him or never wanting to have children?
He would think about that in the near future, for now, though he would admire you with your nephew. Dreaming of the children he would one day have with you.
☆~☆~☆~☆~☆~☆~☆~☆~☆~☆~☆~☆~☆~☆~
As you exited the home, you couldn't shake off the feeling of being watched. Turning around, you saw your husband staring at you with such gentle eyes. Before you could say anything, he spoke, "You were wonderful with Augie."
You looked at him before answering him, looking at the ground as you did, "Thank you, my Lord. I wish to one day have children of my own and-"
"Do you wish that with me?" You looked at him in shock. "My pardon, what was the question?"
"Do you wish that with me? Children, I mean." Your mouth was left agape hearing Anthony speak of children with you.
"My Lord, where is this question coming from? We barely know each other, why now?" Anthony caught himself before he could say anything else. He only looked down, " Of course, I apologize. It seems your carriage has arrived, I bid you a good night, Viscountess." He hastily grabbed your hand before kissing it and nodding in your direction.
You took your hand back and walked towards the carriage. Entering you, you noticed how Anthony stayed there looking at you before you felt the carriage move.
Adelaide sat across of you with a worry flashed throughout her face. "My Lady, are you feeling well? Your eyes are wider than usual, did something happen with Mr. Bridgerton?" You could only look at her thinking of what to say.
"He asked me if I wanted children with him." Adelaide choked on air, apologizing for her rash reaction. "I beg your pardon, he asked for children?"
"It seems so, Adelaide. But, what does it mean?" She could only shrug and question the situation herself. "What if he has feelings for you. Did you see the way he looked at you while you held the Duchess's son? He seemed quite infatuated with you."
Laughing amongst each other, you held onto each other, fanning yourselves for more air. "That is quite the claim, Adelaide." Wiping her tears, she said, "I only report what I see my Lady."
Feeling the carriage come to a stop, you exited slowly going to your room. Adelaide helped you out of your dress and into your night one before seeing herself out. You stayed sitting in front of your vanity, looking at yourself before thinking of Anthony.
Your heart was beating quickly, and your breaths shortened, too. You lifted your hand and traced your collarbone with your fingers before letting them fall onto your breaths. Taking a sharp breath, you allowed your fingers to fall farther, trying to find the strange pleasure you were feeling between your legs.
You pushed yourself off of the chair before blowing the candles and tucking yourself in your bed. Not being able to sleep, you thought of the day you had.
Hyacinth enjoyed your baked pastries, insisting you teach her how to make them. You remembered how happy you were seeing Daphne with her little baby, Augie. She seemed excited to see you not hesitating to catch up with her childhood friend. During the conversation, she had you hold Augie while she went to get herself a piece of your cake.
Remembering little Augie, you smiled to yourself, making him laugh was one of the highlights of your day, and you were proud to call him your dear nephew. Then your mind went back to Anthony and him asking you about children. Did he truly want them with you? Was there still a chance for both of you to fall in love and have the life you had dreamed about?
You shook your head sighing before forcing yourself to sleep. What normally took you a minute took you forever. You couldn't fall asleep and was uncomfortable in your bed, moving around trying to find a position to sleep in.
You got out of your bed and decided to go to the kitchen to get yourself a glass of milk. While heading down, you noticed one of your doormen holding a letter talking to Adelaide, whispering amongst each other.
"Adelaide, what's going on?" Frightened, she sharply turned her head towards you, "My Lady. It seems you have gotten a letter from Viscount Bridgerton."
"It is night. Why would he send a letter so late?"
"I do not know, my Lady. Do you wish to read it now or in the morning?"
"I shall read it in my room now. Thank you, Adelaide." She nodded and passed the letter to you before you made your way back to the room. Sitting on your vanity chair, you hesitated, opening it before closing your eyes.
You breathed in and then out and opened the letter.
Dear Viscountess Bridgerton,
I wish you well. Although I am not there with you at Petunia Estate, I want you to know that I think of you daily. In my dreams, my thoughts, and my words. Though it seems sometimes that I do not care for you, know that you have changed me through your actions.
A loveless marriage was what I wanted, but what I need is Your love. I want our children to experience the same love I have seen in my parents. To know that their parents know no bounds to love. To know that our love is so great, it extends to them.
I know you think, 'The Viscount is surely saying this sweet nothings out of pity,' and I assure you, I am not. I am mad, obsessed, and addicted to you. The very thought of you sends a feeling in my chest. The one I never thought I would feel again.
I adore you. I am mesmerized by you. I am fascinated by you. I am in love with you. I seek your very presence in the lonely rooms with souls who lie behind my back. I seek your thoughts and emotions because I want to learn about you. I seek your scent because it drives me insane knowing that I could wake up every morning to that scent. I seek you because I want you.
I want the life you told your mother you wanted. I want the life where we grow old together and watch out grandchildren laugh and run around. I want the life where we can be so open about our love, others become envious. I want the life where I wake up to you, talk to you, and love you.
I do not expect for you to write me back, but know I will surely send you more. I'll send them until you personally tell me stop, but will I? No. Because I will do anything in my power to have you.
Sincerely,
Your Husband
Viscount Bridgerton
You let out a breath you had been holding. It was true, Anthony had fallen for you. You read the letter once again and decided to write back until his next letter.

Venture Bros Time Frame
Based on the Venture Brothers Wiki Timeline and what I could find in the show during my final rewatch before the movie. Like when I calculated Gary’s age, this is not an opinion piece. I pull straight from the source material.
I am not starting from a specific year because we know Venture Bros references current pop culture based on the year each season was released. Various dates documented in the show fail to provide a cohesive timeline. Hence, my focus is on the time frame. I'll be keeping track by noting "Venture Bros Year _" when the series moves into the next year and by referencing years as "000(number of year)" while using dates. I suggest following along with your calendar open like I had to do while organizing this lol.
S1e11 Past Tense - Orpheus predicts that The Action Man will have a stroke in "2 years, 17 days."
We will start pretty late into the first year, Venture Bros Year 1
S1e13 Are You There God, It's Me, Dean - Takes place in late September 0001.
The episode features Monarch's birthday, which is around late September 0001 when, according to him, "the leaves would be orange enough..." to build his Monarch wings.
The Monarch butterfly migration and the leaves turning can begin around late September in New Jersey.
A Very Venture Christmas Special occurs on Christmas, December 25th, 0001, between season 1 and season 2.
While the entire episode was a dream, it was still revealed to be Christmas time. Sally is shown to be pregnant with Rocket. This is important because it solidifies that this episode specifically took place sometime between s1e7 Ice Station Impossible and s2e5 20 Years to Midnight.
Venture Bros Year 2
S2e2 Hate Floats - The boys celebrate their 16th birthday.
S2e5 20 Years to Midnight - This episode takes place May 4th, 0002, "...in Rusty's 44th year." In s1e8 Mid-life Chrysalis, he states his age is 43. Rusty must have turned 44 last month on April 30th, 0002. This means a little over 7 months have passed since s1e13. Rocket was born to Sally Impossible during that time.
This means the boys' birthday is between December 26th - May 3rd. I'm casting a wide net because, for all we know, the episodes in between could have happened just days apart from each other. They live chaotic lives.
S2e11 ¡Viva los Muertos! - Rusty promises the boys will receive something better than their clones as Christmas gifts.
S2e12&13 Showdown at Cremation Creek (Parts 1 and 2) - This episode spans a month between the Monarch's proposal and the wedding.
S3e4 Home Is Where the Hate Is - The boys state that they are still 16 years old "going on 17". That phrase usually indicates a birthday is approaching, but we can't assume anything definitive. What this does tell us is that a full year has not gone by since s2e2 Hate Floats, assuming the boys didn't die again off-screen.
S3e5 The Buddy System - Billy says he is 35. Based on s2e12&13 Showdown at Cremation Creek (Parts 1 and 2), we know that he is 35 at least a month after May 4th, 0002.
Here's where it gets tricky
S3e8 Tears of a Sea Cow - Dean's newspaper is dated May 23rd. I will explore two possibilities.
Possibility 1
Even though I don't feel like the date on Dean's paper is strong evidence as it could be a secondhand thought made up by the animators or a reference to how each season seems to occur in the year it airs, the month of May would line up as the boys had previously told Hatred they were about to turn 17 years old four episodes prior, indicating a birthday was near. If we say we are already in Venture Bros Year 3 and believe the date in the newspaper to be May 23rd, 0003, the boys would already be 17 during this episode because we know their birthday is before May 4th. However...
S3e13 The Family That Slays Together, Stays Together Part 2 - Hank says "...open my Christmas gifts early...." referring to the clones they discovered in s2e11 ¡Viva los Muertos!. Indicating that December 25th, 0002 has not occurred yet.
Possibility 2
What this could mean, other than an oversight, is that it was May 23rd, 0002. This would make the boys still 16 years old. And everything between s2e5 20 Years to Midnight and s3e8 Tears of a Sea Cow takes place all in one month... but that also doesn't work because s2e12&13 Showdown at Cremation Creek (Parts 1 and 2) spans about a month by itself and we see the Monarchs multiple times in various stages of their relationship throughout season 2.
Because acknowledging the date in the newspaper would not work either way, I feel that it's safe to disregard it completely based on the current information we have. I feel more confident in trusting the writing that came directly from Doc and Jackson rather than the animation.
S4e1 Blood of the Father, Heart of Steel - The Nazis give Rusty "8 months" to clone Hitler. During this time Hank grew out his hair, Brock got out of shape and back in shape, and Gary got dieseled. Somewhere during those 8 months, we moved on to…
Venture Bros Year 3
S4e2 Handsome Ransom - Billy says he is 37. If Billy wasn't lying or rounding up, this means at least a year and a day have passed since s3e5 The Buddy System. The boys must be 17 at this point.
S4e5 The Revenge Society - Documenting where this episode takes place for a later reference.
S4e10 Pomp and Circuitry - Brock tells Hank "...you also have to be 18" to dissuade him from joining SPHINX. Confirming that two whole years have not passed since s2e2 Hate Floats.
S4e12 Everybody Comes to Hank's - Hank asks Dean "How was your summer?" hinting that they are approaching the middle to end of summer.
S4e15 The Silent Partners -JJ is in space building Gargantua II. This is information for later reference.
S4e16 Operation: P.R.O.M. - In the commentary, Doc and Jackson use prom to symbolize the boy's unofficial 18th birthday, more specifically their ascent into adulthood. I did not take this to mean it was literally their 18th birthday. The latest their birthday can be is May 3rd and at this point, they are nearing the fall.
S5e1 What Color Is Your Cleansuit? - Takes place the day after P.R.O.M. and spans 3 months. A Very Venture Halloween special takes place in the middle of it on October 31st, 0003. We see Gary raking leaves - Fall. Then the compound is covered in snow - Winter. The weather here is intentional to show the passage of time. It is unclear at this point if we have moved on to the next year. There is no mention of Christmas or New Year's. By the end of the episode, it could be as early as November 0003.
At this point, we are over 2 years and at least 1 month into the series. We started in September 0001 in s1e13 Are You There God, It's Me, Dean and are now sometime past October 31st, 0003. I am keeping in mind Orpheus' prediction of "2 years and 17 days". In the commentary Doc and Jackson state that the Action Man could have considered his health since the prediction which resulted in delaying his stroke.
S5e3 SPHINX Rising - Gary says "Hank is an adult." I took this to mean he had turned 18 at some point. While their birthday may be at the end of December because we had cast a wide net for them earlier, I will assume we’ve moved on to…
Venture Bros Year 4
Here’s where it gets tricky part 2
S5e4 Spanakopita! - This episode should take place in October. Team Venture attended the wedding of Aristotle Onassis and Jackie Kennedy which took place on October 20th, 1968. Another historical event mentioned was the Apollo 7 mission, which took place Oct 11, 1968 – Oct 22, 1968. In the flashback we see Spanakopita aligning with the Splashdown date, October 22, 1968. This is evidence that the dates are intentional.
In this episode we see Hank in his strength suit, confirming that Spanakopita takes place after s5e1 What Color Is Your Cleansuit? and A Very Venture Halloween special. I feel it's unlikely that they intended for a full year to have passed between s5e1 What Color Is Your Cleansuit? and s5e4 Spanakopita!. I want to make this as accurate as possible so I'm going to entertain two possibilities.
Possibility 1
If we say that s5e4 Spanakopita! was not intended to take place in October specifically and it was an oversight, then I feel safe to assume the warm weather we see after s5e1 What Color Is Your Cleansuit? indicates that we've moved onto spring or summer, still in Venture Bros Year 4.
S5e5 O.S.I. Love You - Hank’s limbs atrophied from wearing the strength suit he found in S5e3 SPHINX Rising for “weeks”.
S5e6 Momma's Boys - Hank tells Dermott “Last year…” and references the events of s4e5 The Revenge Society which took place in Venture Bros Year 3.
S5e7 Bot Seeks Bot - This episode takes place in July 0004. We see a flashback in S7e3 Arrears in Science which took place the night before Thanksgiving, November 0004.
S5e8 The Devil's Grip - Dean says a third of his age is 6 - indicating he is probably 18.
All This and Gargantua-2 - Monarch says Rusty “hasn’t paid his electric bill since June.” We know we are in July or August because s5e7 Bot Seeks Bot takes place in July 0004.
Season 6 starts in Venture Bros Year 4, August or September 0004 because we know Dean had applied and enrolled in the Fall Semester. The boys would be 18 years old—3 years since s1e13 Are You There God, It's Me, Dean.
S6e1 Hostile Makeover - Hatred says he's "been waiting to do that (hit Gary) for weeks”, assuming he is referring to the last time he saw Gary in either s5e8 The Devil's Grip.
S6e4 Rapacity in Blue - Takes place on October 7th, 0004. The timestamps are in the top right corner of the security camera videos.
S6e5 Tanks for Nuthin’ - Takes place on October 8th, 0004 the morning after s6e4 Rapacity in Blue.
S7e1 The Venture Bros. & The Curse of the Haunted Problem - This episode takes place the in the days leading up to Thanksgiving, November 0004. We flashback 2 years ago to JJ discovering the Gargantua crash. This implies JJ made this discovery sometime in Venture Bros Year 2.
According to The Art and Making of the Venture Bros. - Rocket is 3 or 4 years old now.
Next, we have a clear time span thanks to s7e3 Arrears in Science. It's Thanksgiving, November 0004. 3 years and 2 months since s1e13 Are You There God, It's Me, Dean.
Time jump to the start of the Spring Semester in s7e4 The High Cost of Loathing, which starts in Venture Bros Year 5, January 0005.
S7e4 High Cost of Loathing - There is a "two months later" time jump at the beginning of the episode.
We are still in Winter Venture Bros Year 5 as of the final episode. In total making the time span from s1e13 Are You There God, It's Me, Dean to s7e10 The Saphrax Protocol 3 years and at least 4 months.
Possibility 2
If we do say it has been another year and s5e4 Spanakopita! takes place in Venture Bros Year 4, October 0004, which means almost everything is pushed back a year. The boys would be 18 years old.
S5e5 O.S.I. Love You - Hank’s limbs atrophied from wearing the strength suit he found in S5e3 for “weeks”.
S5e6 Momma's Boys - Hank tells Dermott “Last year…” and references the events of s4e5 The Revenge Society which took place in Venture Bros Year 3. That would mean this episode would need to take place between October 23rd, 0004 and December 31st, 0004.
Venture Bros Year 5
S5e7 Bot Seeks Bot - This episode takes place in July 0005. We see a flashback in S7e3 Arrears in Science which took place the night before Thanksgiving, November 0005.
S5e8 The Devil's Grip - Dean says a third of his age is 6 - Dean must be 19 at this point and have rounded 6 years and 3 months down to just 6.
All This and Gargantua-2 - Monarch says Rusty “hasn’t paid his electric bill since June.” We know we are in July or August because s5e7 Bot Seeks Bot takes place in July 0005.
Season 6 starts in August or September 0005, because we know Dean had applied and enrolled in the Fall Semester. At this point, the boys would have to be 19 years old. - 4 years since s1e13 Are You There God, It's Me, Dean. Overshooting the 2 years and 17 days prediction by a lot.
S6e1 Hostile Makeover - Hatred says he's "been waiting to do that (hit Gary) for weeks”, assuming he is referring to the last time he saw Gary in either s5e8 The Devil's Grip.
S6e4 Rapacity in Blue - Takes place on October 7th, 0005.
S6e5 Tanks for Nuthin’ - Takes place on October 8th, 0005 the morning after s6e4 Rapacity in Blue.
S7e1 The Venture Bros. & The Curse of the Haunted Problem - This episode takes place the in the days leading up to Thanksgiving, November 0005. We flashback 2 years ago to JJ discovering the Gargantua crash. This implies JJ made the discovery sometime in Venture Bros Year 3 before S4e15 The Silent Partners.
According to The Art and Making of the Venture Bros. - Rocket is 3 or 4 years old now.
Again, we have a clear time span thanks to s7e3 Arrears in Science. It's Thanksgiving, November 0005. 4 years and 2 months since s1e13 Are You There God, It's Me, Dean.
Finally, we have the time jump to the start of the Spring Semester in s7e4 The High Cost of Loathing, which would start in Venture Bros Year 6, January 0006.
S7e4 High Cost of Loathing - There is a "two months later" time jump at the beginning of the episode.
We are still in Winter 0006 as of the final episode. Making the time span in this possibility, from s1e13 Are You There God, It's Me, Dean to s7e10 The Saphrax Protocol, 4 years and at least 4 months.
NOTES AND THOUGHTS
S1e1 Dia de los Dangerous - Presumably this episode takes place on Dia los Muertos, November 1st. Monarch states that he's in Mexico to find his foster parents. Butterflies arrive in Mexico around early November. Because this happened before Orpheus' prediction, it could be plausible that there is almost a year between the first episode and s1e13 Are You There God, It's Me, Dean. It is probably just as likely that Doc and Jackson were not considering keeping to a set time frame until much later in the series.
JJ did not appear in the season 1 Christmas Special. The boys are alive. Rusty was not on his journey running away from the boys' deaths. I wonder if this means s1e13 Return to Spider-Skull Island took place after Christmas. I am also not considering the weather as a determining factor here because I remember hearing about issues with animating different backgrounds in the earlier seasons.
If it helps, I placed the boy’s birthday on the Ides of March (March 15th) to help me keep track of things. It’s both a significant historical date and a 70’s rock band. Plus I wanted them to be Pisces :)
I also stuck the Monarch's birthday on September 30th because that's when Don became Venturion. I think it's poetic.
Doc and Jackson are phenomenal writers and I’m sure if they were to address this in the show they would find a way for it to make sense that we would all enjoy. I had a lot of fun doing this. I love digging deep into my favorite show and piecing together what I find 💛 Go Team Venture!

The knight squad being a chaotic family for 45 minutes
——————————————-
Ophila: I’m sorry for being annoying.
Ophila: It will happen again.
——————————————-———————————
Galen : I have a question.
Ophila: Shoot.
Galen : Is the S or C in scent silent?
William : Fuck you, I’m going to be thinking about this all day.
Ophila: Okay well, cent is pronounced the same way as scent so I’m gonna say the S is silent.
Galen : Okay, but sent is also spelled the same way.
William : Google says that the C was added in the late seventeenth century, so I guess the S is silent.
Lucky: Plot twist, both the S and the C are silent and the E actually makes the sss sound.
William : Lucky is not allowed to talk anymore.
——————————————-———————————
Aster: A butterfly! Hey, little guy, gal or nonbinary pal!
Galen : Can a butterfly be nonbinary?
Aster: I mean, maybe? I don't judge.
Percival, staring dreamily out of the window: Ah, have you ever imagine having butterfly wings? Then-
Evren : Then it would be inconvenient as fuck. Your wings would smack every doorframe and your clothes would have to have holes in the back.
William : Also, your wing's paper thin, so even a six year old aimed a NERF gun at it would... Yeah...
Tajdar: *sips coffee* According to all known laws of aviation, there is no way that a-
Percival: No, nononono. You fuckers have already shattered my dream, you don't get the fucking privilege to make that reference.
Galen : Also, it's about a butterfly, not a bee... Why would you make that reference?
Aster: You clearly have not lived with them long enough.
——————————————-———————————
Galen : Don't worry, I've got a few knives up my sleeve.
Ophila: I think you mean cards.
Lux: They did not.
Galen , pulling out knives: I did not.
——————————————-———————————
Modern!Lux: Why do you act like we’re three year olds?
Modern!William, exasperated: WHY?!?
Modern!William points at Galen : YOU TRIED TO HYJACK A CAR!
Modern!William points at Lucky: YOU NEARLY JUMPED 20 FEET OFF A CARPARK!
Modern!William points at Lux: AND YOU ATE MULTIPLE DRIED LEAVES AND ROCKS OFF THE GROUND!
Modern!William: AND YOU ASK ME WHY????
——————————————-———————————
Mathew: *running towards William with open arms*
William: *moves out of the way*
Mathew: Hey, why'd you move?!
William: I thought you were going to attack me.
Mathew: I was going to hug you!
William: Why would you hug me?
Mathew: WHY WOULD I ATTACK YOU!?
——————————————-———————————
Percival: You are, of course, wondering why it is I have brought you here tonight.
Mathew: Actually, Percival, after all these years, I just sort of go with it.
——————————————-———————————
Evren : Can you be quiet?! I'm trying to think.
Eris : Don't worry. Doing anything for the first time is difficult.
——————————————-———————————
Lux: Come on, you need to go to bed.
Lucky: Mr. Snuffles says that I can stay up as long as I want. And that you need to die!
Lux: …
Lux: What the hell, Mr. Snuffles—
——————————————-———————————
Ophila: What the hell were you thinking?
Lucky: I heard releasing birds at a wedding is romantic!
Ophila: You released OSTRICHES!

Tim Burton's Corpse Bride - Does it Still Hold Up?
Well, it's the Halloween season, and what better way to celebrate than reviewing one of Tim Burton's iconic, spooky stop-motion movies- The Nightmare Before Christmas Corpse Bride! Never before has an animated movie managed to make the concept of death so freakin' hot, but that's another story.
Corpse Bride was released in 2005, so while not as old as the previous installment in our little series, A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving, it is on the older side of films at almost 20 years old.
The film follows Victor van Dort and Victoria Everglot, whose parents have arranged for them to be married at their own economic and societal gain. Victor becomes so enamored with Victoria that he stumbles over his vows anytime he tries to recite them, ruining a key wedding rehearsal. Embarrassed and ashamed, Victor runs away, where he is now finally able to cite his vows out loud without Victoria witnessing. However, this results in him accidentally attracting Emily, a 'corpse bride' who has been waiting in the forest for years for her love to return. She mistakenly believes this lover is Victor, and now the poor guy is caught in a love triangle between a rich, lovely women and a literal dead body.
First of all, let's address the elephant in the room- the beautiful craftmanship. At times, you forget the movie is even stop-motion because of how lively the props, character movements, and soundtrack all are. I find it ironic that I just called a movie about death lively, but that's the truth.
While I'm not exactly sure the movie has the same level of grandeur as one like The Nightmare Before Christmas has, it doesn't have to. The simplicity of Corpse Bride is what makes the movie beautiful. With a relatively short runtime of only 77 minutes, the movie has little time to express the plots and themes it needs to in order to be successful. Yet, at no point in the movie's run do you think that a scene felt too rushed, or a moment went too slow. The ratio of pacing to plot is perfect.
Both Victor and Emily are ridden by a sense of restlessness as a result of their need for love. Victor is bothered by his ability to love someone 'properly,' while Emily has waited for seemingly years for her lost love to return to her. In marrying Victor, Emily realizes that while she now has her happiness, she has taken the sense of love away from another victim, Victoria. Emily's regret is only cemented when she realizes Victor wasn't the man she's been waiting for all these years; this man is actually a suitor Victoria marries in replace of Victor. At the end of the movie, when Emily transforms into a swarm of butterflies and leaves for good, she's not only departing from Victor's life, but also her sense of sorrow permanently. Emily is never portrayed as a villain, and she isn't; her desire for love is justified based on her patience and desperation. She realize later on that it just wasn't meant to be.
To make this movie even better, Corpse Bride also happens to be a musical, with at least three songs in the movie. My personal favorite song was Remains of the Day. Once again, a movie about mortality is less than dead in its presentation. Danny Elfman does an amazing job with the songs and soundtrack in the movie, one that deserves as much acclaim as the movie ultimately ended up receiving.
Upon it release, Corpse Bride was a commercial and critical success. The movie made 112 million dollars, almost triple that of its budget of 40 million dollars. The movie is currently certified Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes with a score of 84% on a critical scale and 77% with audiences. Yet the question still stands- does the movie hold up even after almost two decades?
Yes. Yes it does.
Corpse Bride is a simplistic, but magnificent story demonstrating how deep the bonds of love can fall. Through its detailed, intricate plot, handmade backgrounds and props, and great songs, the movie's message on life, love, and loss is not forgotten. This movie is a must-watch for the Halloween season, and even outside of the spooky season, it doesn't lose its charm and signifigance.
Happy Halloween, everyone!
