A Prayer for Workers On Break
God of mercy, this midday moment of rest is Your welcome gift. Bless the work we have begun, make good its defects, and let us finish it in a way that pleases You. Grant this through Christ, Our Lord. Amen.

"The Opus Dei should be an experience of the presence of God, in which we realize God is present for us, at the same time that we are in God’s presence and living for him. This idea of being simultaneously present to each other–God to us and we to God–is the heart of our life of prayer."

Protect us, Lord, as we stay awake, watch over us as we sleep; that awake, we may keep watch with Christ, and asleep, rest in His peace.

2, 3, & 9 for the ask game. ^v^
2) When was the last time you prayed?
Today! Just under 2 hours ago! A few of us prayed today's vespers (evening prayer) together over voice chat in a discord server I'm in. ❤️
3) Have you ever doubted your faith?
I've answered this one here! :)
9) Has your faith ever helped you through a crisis?
My faith is fairly young, and I'm not sure it's helped me through a major crisis in my life yet, it helps me through little crises all the time!

Forgive us for failing to see Christ in the poor, the distressed, and the troublesome, —and for our failure to reverence Your Son in their persons.
from the Morning Intercessory Prayers of the Monday of the Second Week of Lent.
Jésus-Christ s’habille en pauvre; L’aumône va demander Jésus-Christ s’habille en pauvre; L’aumône va demander "Monsieur qu’êtes sur la porte Faites-moi la charité."

Journal Entry #1 – Renewing My Prayer Life & Spirituality
It is currently October 20th, 2024. Whilst I love God with all of my heart, I have, sadly, never had much of a prayer life. Even though I am currently the most devout I have ever been, I have always struggled with deeply praying and having a routine that allows me to connect with God. Instead, I have been connecting to Him through music, intellectual study, theology, and doing spiritual readings... but now, I am at a point where I know I need more prayer. Because I am yearning for this change in my life, I am starting this novena tonight, which is to Saint Thérèse of Lisieux. She is my Patron Saint, and I am so excited to grow closer to the Lord through her little love. 🌹✨
In addition to starting this novena to Thérèse tonight, I am also going to start praying the Liturgy of the Hours in the morning and at night from the Divine Office. I will do afternoons when I have the time. As of today, I can not afford a set of prayer books for the Liturgy of Hours... but I think that using this wonderful site for now will certainly suffice for me. And it has the option to listen to the prayers, which I think is beautiful. 🥰 I look forward to seeing how this will further renew my prayer life and draw me even nearer to God's Holy Love. ✞

What proof do we have that we too can rise above the fleeting things we want, to become what we are fully, wholly meant to be? What hope do we have that however much we've lost before —and may in fact be losing now, at this moment— there is much more yet to be gained of the good and the true and the really beautiful in life? Where can we go to find someone whose life is not tethered to the earth to the point of death? It's to Mary, the model of all our losses in life; It's to Mary, the mother of hope in the midst of despair; It's to Mary, the woman of courage, who sees everything in her life lost and yet, at the same time, her eternal faith reaches out and lifts her up to find the higher, the richer, the more meaningful things of life, as she did both here and hereafter. [...] Mary of the Assumption teaches us to keep our eyes on the things of heaven, to free ourselves of the fetters of anything less, to develop a vision larger than ourselves to be lifted up beyond the petty and the transient to the eternal and the unalloyed. [... T]he feast of the Assumption is clearly the feast of Mary's total identity with the mind and heart of God. [...] Mary of the Assumption is a sign of what we can also become, if we are willing to let go of what we have planned for ourselves and lift our hearts to higher things.
Sister Joan Chittister, OSB (Catholic Women Preach: Raising Voices, Renewing the Church, pages 258, 259, 256, 259)
King of kings, You lifted up Your mother, body and soul, into heaven —help us to fix our thoughts on things above.

Evening Prayer
Today at work was an odd combination of slow but stressful. However in the quiet moment when evening finally arrived I was convicted after doing evening prayer that Jesus “did not live to please Himself.” What a beautiful thought how He did everything for the Father without seeking Himself. As a Consecrated Single being unmarried and living alone in a basement apartment in my parent’s house I…
