Thought this quote from Lisa could be helpful for some people- Simon did try to adjust to the monarchy (even though he shouldn't have had to, but for the crowd that thinks Simon didn't "understand" Wille's pressure), but the problem wasn't Simon. Simon could have done everything, but the problem was with Wille and his family. It was a situation that wasn't working, Simon wasn't getting the support he needed within the relationship, and Wille's issues weren't about Simon, it was his parents and the monarchy as an institution. That breakup needed to happen for them to come back together.

in the grand scheme of things, it’s kind of a bit ‘on the nose’ to have written an entire trilogy about the evils of despotic authority and lack of democratic accountability, where the central message is that somehow love can overcome tyranny, but it’s also not-so-secretly a marxist show, and then to have one of your parting messages to the adoring, besotted fans be that "They are in charge" and you couldn’t do anything about the lack of s3 promo content from the NN overlords. Art mirroring Life, Life mirroring Art, the whole thing is a hall of mirrors, i need to lie down

https://deadline.com/2023/12/writers-to-watch-out-for-in-2024-1235679667/#!
Interesting article here, with Lisa Ambjorn profiled along with four British writers who all write in the English language. Making it all the more impressive that she got noticed by Hollywood, since her big hit was all in Swedish.
But in the article it says Lisa was the head writer for the first two seasons of Young Royals, and was promoted to showrunner in Season 3. Which brings me to my question: who was the showrunner in S1 and S2?

Freedom, drafted
If you’re interested in the relationships between Sara and Simon & between Wille and Sara, & the aftermath of trauma & loss, & aged-up devoted to each other but life does get real sometimes Wilmon, & people unexpectedly turning into writers, i have written a story about all that & more. Please check the tags.
It's ten years since that tumultuous year at Hillerska that changed everyone's lives. Simon has just found out that Wille has been keeping a secret from him. The secret is something Wille desperately wants to give Simon, but he can't. Only Sara can. The truth is shattering, but once they get there, it might heal them and make them all stronger. "There is a kind of held that means being free. And there is another kind of held that is hell. The trick is getting the chance to learn the difference." A story about grieving and repairing. A story about being seen, being misunderstood, being forgiven, and being loved all the same. A story about the stories we tell.
Thank you to @bluedalahorse for beta and @stretchoutfics for ideas and encouragement. And to all the fanfic writers. The work is finished, btw, it's in edit.
Related. "i'll just watch this teen drama someone recommended. Seems okay." Nearly 2 years of brain rot later "Here i am pulling out my hair writing actual fiction for the first time in my life because i cannot escape these characters or this story".

The thing with the revenge porn supposedly dying down as soon as Wilhelm denied he was the other boy in the video is SUCH bullshit. There are many, many examples of teenagers who have taken their own lives after intimate images and videos of them were shared with the world without their consent. The harassment they got from schoolmates, acquaintances, and random strangers on the internet caused their deaths. And none of those kids were with famous people in their videos.
Lisa took on a deadly serious subject, and then trivialized it. There was a real case here in Vancouver a few years ago of a girl not much younger than Simon called Amanda Todd who killed herself after online sextortion and the criminal sharing the results of his extortion with her schoolmates. The guy recently went to prison for it. This is not a plot twist, this is real life.
I’m not saying Simon should’ve attempted suicide. But if Lisa was going to write about a very topical subject like teens being subjected to revenge porn, she had a responsibility to get it right. Not sweep it under the rug because exploring the repercussions didn’t fit with the story she wanted to tell. If she didn’t want to tell that story, she shouldn’t have written the video plot in the first place.
Ok I know I know what I said earlier, but I just checked @wasitroyal 's summary on Lisa's interview and what the actual-
(Oh I'm gonna be rude)
Did she really said she thought Wille's denial about the video would "fix" things for Simon? Like, after his FACE was on an actual MAGAZINE? And all over the Internet? IS SHE BEING FOR REAL?
You know, I could exuse and explain a lot of things. We all have a different perspective, that's fine, that's cool, but I'm sorry. This wasn't coming from a different perspective. It was pure stupidity. And, yes, it single-mindedly explained for me all the weird decisions of season three and all the plot holes that had been lingering since season one. That single thing about different perspective on karaoke scene showed that many fans have more brain cells than the people responsible for the story.
Also the thing about Maddie? I'm furious. And I was also right when I said 'it looks like The Message is that they will never change'. Such a bullshit. Thank you.
I would really like to talk about it more to someone who understands my issues with YR writing (s3 was a victim all along, omg), so if anyone willing to join, my dm's are there
