From being used in micro- robots to manned space-launches, LiPo batteries find application across a wide range of industries owing to their unique properties and capabilities. Some common uses include:
Consumer Electronics:
Smartphones, laptops, tablets can have LiPO batteries as their sources of long-lasting and dependable energy. People and different devices like smartphones, laptops, tablets can have LiPO batteries that are reliable and long-lasting.
Portable and compact power sources are the key to these small devices due to the high energy density of LiPO batteries.
2. Aerospace and Defense:
Drones, UAVs are unmanned vehicles, hence the necessity of Lithium Polymer batteries (LiPo) as their power source.
LiPo batteries are good applications like in aerospace where weight savings have a very high priority.
3.  Medical Devices:
A case in point of that is hand-held medical devices like patient monitors and mobile health trackers that usually employ the LiPo batteries that correspond to a high energy density and compact size.
Li-Po batteries are guaranteed to give out stable power to the most important devices that support medical operations.
4.  Automotive and Transportation:
Electric vehicles (EVs) and hybrid electric vehicles employ LiPo-based batteries to provide power.
First generation battery cells of LiPo batteries provide a high energy density with a fast-charging feature. Because of this it is ideal for electric vehicles.
LiPo battery and its Advantages:
While there are several other battery chemistries that Lipo batteries compete with, their most significant advantages include much greater energy density, extreme stability at high and low temperatures, and nearly 100% depth of discharge (DOD). Let us now look at these one by one.
LiPo batteries are like packs all of the goodies when it comes to batteries compared to other ones, hence, about various fields of interest, they are a favorite. Some key advantages include:
1.High Energy Density:
LiPo batteries are characterized by higher energy density. This is in contrast with other battery types thus it leads to longer run times and improved performance.
2. Lightweight and Compact:
The LiPo batteries stand out among other batteries in terms of their high energy density and low weight, which makes them suitable for devices that need portability and compactness.
3. High Discharge Rates:
LiPo batteries can power high discharge rates and, in consequence, higher output and better functionality of the power-hungry devices.
4. Fast Charging:
As LiPo batteries have advanced charging potential they offer quick and, in those scenarios, very convenient energy supply for those moving users.
Conclusion:
To conclude, LiPo batteries as an advanced energy storage system are successfully putting blades on the wheel of progress through the industries. The Science Behind Ultrasonic Laser Lipo: How Does It Work?
Introduction
In our quest to feel confident and comfortable in our bodies, many of us have turned to cosmetic procedures, with one of the most popular ones being liposuction. Over the years, the technology behind liposuction has evolved, with newer, less invasive options emerging, and one of the most revolutionary is Ultrasonic Laser Liposuction (ULL). But what exactly is ULL, and how does it work? Let’s explore the fascinating science behind it.
Ultrasonic Laser Liposuction: What is It?
Ultrasonic Laser Liposuction, also known as Ultrasound-Assisted Liposuction (UAL), is a modern variation of traditional liposuction. UAL uses ultrasound technology in addition to lasers to break down fat cells, making it easier to remove them from the body. This process results in less trauma to the surrounding tissues and promotes smoother outcomes and quicker recovery times compared to conventional liposuction methods.
The Science Behind Ultrasonic Laser Liposuction
The science behind ULL hinges on two key components: ultrasonic energy and laser technology.
Ultrasonic energy is used in various fields, from cleaning to physical therapy, and even in dentistry. In ULL, ultrasonic waves are used to disrupt the fat cells, breaking them apart and turning them into an emulsion. The ultrasound device used in ULL generates these waves, which are directed towards the fatty tissues. These waves vibrate rapidly, creating heat and pressure that effectively shatter the walls of the fat cells.
Once the fat cells have been broken down by ultrasonic energy, the second component of ULL, laser technology, comes into play. In this step, a laser fiber is inserted into the same incision, emitting a specific wavelength of light. This light creates heat, which liquifies the already emulsified fat, making it easier to be suctioned out of the body. The laser also stimulates the production of collagen, an essential protein that helps skin stay firm and smooth, contributing to a better overall aesthetic result.
Advantages of Ultrasonic Laser Liposuction
One of the most significant advantages of ULL over traditional liposuction methods is that it's a less invasive process. Since the fat cells are broken down before suctioning, there is less force needed, resulting in less bruising and swelling, and a quicker recovery period.
ULL also allows for greater precision, especially in fibrous or difficult areas of the body. The use of ultrasonic waves and lasers allows the surgeon to differentiate fat from other tissues, ensuring a smoother, more targeted approach.
Moreover, the use of laser in ULL encourages collagen production, which leads to skin tightening. This is particularly beneficial as it addresses one of the most common post-liposuction concerns: loose or sagging skin.
Conclusion
Ultrasonic Laser Liposuction, with its combination of ultrasound and laser technologies, offers a scientifically advanced, less invasive alternative to traditional liposuction methods. Not only does it facilitate the removal of unwanted fat, but it also encourages skin tightening and smoother results, making it an appealing choice for those seeking body contouring procedures.
As with any medical procedure, it is essential to consult with a qualified medical professional who can advise on the best course of action based on individual circumstances and health history. The future of body sculpting continues to evolve, and Ultrasonic Laser Liposuction is an exciting part of that evolution, blending technology and science to help us feel better in our own skin.

well it's been almost six months which I think is long enough to break my posting embargo, so, uh: guess what! I got liposuction lol. specifically hip/thigh lipo to quell some pretty wicked dysphoria that stemmed from having such a feminine silhouette… and I have to say I'm really, really pleased with the results.
tbh my initial plan was to keep things under wraps for good which is why I haven't said anything about it yet (and even as I'm typing this up I keep debating whether to post it or trash it)—partly because I was/am worried people might Act Weird about it and partly because I get a little embarrassed talking about bodygendershit in general. but here we are. one reason I do feel compelled to finally share, other than being super happy about how everything went, is that I haven't encountered a lot of discussions about body sculpting as a possible avenue of gender-affirming care (although, to be fair, maybe I just haven't been looking in the right places) and I figured at least one person out there would be interested to learn about what I did and where I've ended up so far.
anyway. pics/details under the cut—nothing even remotely risqué (or yucky), I just know that body image stuff is fraught + not everyone is eager to hear surgery talk.
to be precise: I got tumescent liposuction of the inner and outer thigh, plus this ultrasound thing to help the skin shrink. a different surgeon who I consulted (but ultimately did not go with for a number of reasons) said that even if I got the results I wanted from lipo, which he claimed was unlikely, the affected skin would look loose/baggy/weird forever... and that surgeon was wrong on both counts lol. my elasticity was great bitch!!!!
they didn't take out that much fat overall, only eight pounds or so, but it's way more about the Where than the How Much. my actual surgeon (who kicks ass btw) said lipo isn't that great for weight loss per se, and what it's really good for is sculpting targeted areas—so basically exactly what I did. six months post-op I actually weigh about the same as what I did pre-op, but the distribution has held steady; more weight goes to my stomach now and less, proportionally, goes to my hips since there are fewer fat cells in that area now. so my silhouette retains its new shape!
the overall change is admittedly on the subtle side, since I'm pretty short and have wide hip bones (and you can't change your literal skeleton) but it's still gone a looooooong way. the main thing I requested from my surgeon was "I want to fit in men's pants" and boy did he deliver.
also a good place to note that if you're in the las vegas area looking for a plastic and/or cosmetic surgeon—this guy is board-certified in both btw—then I absolutely have the guy for you. feel free to DM me for details. lipo is clearly his specialty (and it shows!) but he also does a lot of breast revisions/mastopexy (i.e., fixing implants that other surgeons did a bad job putting in), regular implants, and face work (particularly facial feminization surgery). one thing that sold me on this guy was an enthusiastic yelp review from a local stripper who said he hid the incisions for her breast lift in her armpits so none of her clients would notice that she'd had work done... a true master of his craft
okay you've scrolled enough so I'll give you what you're here for lol. I don't have many pre-op pics because I was obviously unhappy with how I looked and was not taking full-body selfies on a regular basis, but here's a few I took ~2 weeks beforehand:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
these super thin men's joggers were my go-to dysphoria pants, to the point where I bought five pairs in different colors, but now they're so baggy on me that they have the opposite effect and make it look like I have wider hips than I do. so I retired them from my wardrobe...
...except not immediately because I had to wear compression garments 24/7 for the first three months post-op and these joggers were just loose enough to comfortably wear a medical girdle underneath them at all times, 110° degree temperatures be damned. (not that I was going out much for the first month since I was soooooooooooo fucking bruised and sore lol.) here's a few post-op pics in the same style pants:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(first pic is less than 24 hours post-op, about to go to my follow-up appointment, looking greasy as fuck because I wasn't allowed to shower yet; second pic two days post-op and also post-shower, thankfully; third pic is about a month post-op.)
so, like, CLEAR improvement already. I will not be posting pictures of my black-and-blue-and-swollen-all-over legs but considering how puffy I was from getting internally pummeled with a cannula it's wild that I still saw improvement literally as soon as I came home.
recovery was obviously not a blast in the moment but I got off easy, all things considered. I was supposed to get drains put in and was Not looking forward to that at all lol. the first thing I asked when I woke up after surgery was "how many drains?" because they weren't sure if I'd end up needing two or four, but it turned out the answer was zero. no drains!!!
I did have to lie with my feet elevated for the first two weeks straight, and had major bruising that receded over the first month (you could barely see my regular skin underneath all the mottled spots), but little to no nerve pain, no weird complications, and I was more or less back to normal after six weeks. also noelle took very very good care of me and was brave about injecting me with blood thinners so I wouldn't get clots and die :)
when I went into it I was fully expecting to get huge vertical scars up and down the sides of my legs (and had made peace with it!) but instead I wound up with four tiny incisions like this, each less than two inches long:
Tumblr media
what's totally crazy is that the scars are basically Gone now. like even when I'm trying to find them I struggle to locate the ones in the front. I joked to noelle that if someone did an autopsy on me they might not figure out that I'd had cosmetic surgery, especially since the skin on my thighs is back to its normal color and texture. (in this scenario I like to imagine that it's dana scully giving me the autopsy and I'm in an x-files plot where instead of regular lipo I got alien lipo and mulder figures it out purely by accident.)
with lipo it can take up to a year to see the full results but I already feel so much fucking better in my body that seeing old pre-op pics throws me for a loop. and I can absolutely wear men's pants now—pants for short and stocky men, to be fair, but actual regular men's pants and not exclusively Pants For Men With Huge Butts And Legs. which is the only style I could even hope to fit in before. and even then it was a stretch.
big pic dump of shitty mirror selfies taken over the last few months:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
:)
(also I really debated sharing this one but I already included it in the yelp review I left my surgeon so fuck it: here's a tasteful before-and-after in my undies where you can see my bare legs for easier comparison. left pic is one week pre-op, right pic is about five months post-op. including it as a link instead of embedding it in the post in case your boss happens to be reading over your shoulder at this very moment. also this is the one and only time you will ever see me stripped down on tumblr dot com so don't get used to it lol.)

Hank Green released a short about whether y'all people are more likely to get cancer. The answer is yes! Every 5 cm of height increases the risk of several cancers by 5-10%.
In the screenshot of the website explaining this he was showing, it said "unlike being ov*rweight or ob*se, height..." I assume that was followed by "cannot be modified." (Censorship mine). But of course weight cannot be modified either, and there's no proof it makes people healthier to force it. We certainly don't advocate for leg shortening surgeries or artificially halting growth hormonally when someone is tall.
Exactly, we don't encourage people to cut their shins in half "for health". I looked the youtube short up, basically bigger you are the more cells you have but fat cells don't actively divide like say, skin cells. You start with small cells, they get bigger and if needed will divide. So even loosing weight without lipo won't reduce your cells (weight loss basically changes density and size of the cell ? Is again my understanding i could be wrong) and it sounds like the cells aren't replicating like other cells. (My limited understanding is) Every time the DNA inside a cell is read to make a new cell it runs a risk of being read wrong which creates mutated cells (cancer) (iirc benign cancer is when it's read wrong but isn't spreading, it's made limited error copies and the other type of cancer is making nothing but the wrong copies) instead fat cells get big and split, there's no code reading.
I suppose it is correct that it is generally more accepted to perform liposuction on a person than one of those height altering surgeries (usually it's to make someone taller however).
This makes me wonder how much cancer rates change with appendix and gallbladder removal. Obviously without them you can't get those organ specific cancers but the thing about statistics is, there's always fine print.
"Your overall cancer rate drops 5% if you remove your appendix and gallblader" is a hilarious headline to imagine. When in reality your risk of appendix and gallbladder cancer goes to zero outside of like accidentally left behind pieces or something.
Anyway what a weird place for the article to go to. At most you can argue bigger bodies are at a higher risk of certain cancers related to hormones (I can't recall the exact phrasing) because fat cells can also store hormones (iirc) and could be problems for hormone sensitive organs like ovaries. So the website itself was being weirdly fatphobic for no reason if my grasp of things is accurate to the thesis.
But anyway, I'm 6 feet (182 cm) tall and come from a family of giants where I'm the shortest sibling so this is actually somewhat relevant to my personal life and something I'll be extra aware of!

My Delightful Spiral
Just sharing some ways that I have actively chosen to spiral recently that are helping me become a better bimbo fuckdoll and might be useful to others.
Be Pretty
Hair appointments, nail appointments, Botox, filler, regular exercise, and all that good stuff is a must. Get lipo. Buy bigger tits. Turn yourself into a sexual object. No one should be able to look at you and take you seriously. Put it on a credit card if you have to.
Dumb Down
Delete all those self help and learning apps from your phone. Delete news apps and remove any educational content from your feeds. Follow other bimbos and learn to be a better doll. Don’t watch any smart stuff. Watch porn or a makeup tutorial instead.
Stay Fuzzy
Stay high or drunk whenever possible. A wasted doll is a pliant doll and just so much more fun to play with. Weed, poppers, nitrous, pills, powder…whatever floats your boat. Plus, brain cells are pesky and being dumb is so much more fun.
Spend Money on What Matters
Bimbo maintenance is pricey but what matters more, looking fuckable or bring responsible? Let others decide for you. Buy sex toys and booze and drugs. Stop wasting money on things that aren’t going to make you a better doll. You don’t need savings for later, you need to look pretty and feel fuzzy now. Plus, if you don’t have savings, you’ll just have to rely on your body to help you pay those bills. What better incentive is there to become porn?

Do you like having your ass fucked? Has it made you cum before?
Olive oil extraction is the process of extracting the olive oil present in olive drupes. Olive oil is produced in the mesocarp cells, and stored in a particular type of vacuole called a lipo vacuole, i.e., every cell contains a tiny olive oil droplet. Olive oil extraction is the process of separating the oil from the other fruit contents (vegetative extract liquid and solid material).
It is possible to attain this separation by physical means alone, i.e., oil and water do not mix, so they are relatively easy to separate. This contrasts with other oils that are extracted with chemical solvents, generally hexane.
The first operation when extracting olive oil is washing the olives, to reduce the presence of contaminants, especially soil which can create a particular flavor effect called "soil taste".

A lipo charger with a buck built-in
We often have projects that want to run off a lipo, but you need an external regulator to handle the conversion from 3.7~4.2V down to 3.3V. This little board will do the job for you: it has USB Type C power and a 500mA charger chip for standard 1-cell poly/liion cells. a TLV62569 3.3V buck converter will give you a nice 3.3V output
at up to 1A max without worrying about heat or LDO power lossage. When the USB is plugged in, the power into the buck will auto-switch to it so your battery doesn't cycle unnecessarily.

Here are some of the major (and minor but interesting) ‘Teen Mom’-related things that happened over the last week or so…
Kail Lowry Says She’s Getting More Plastic Surgery; Wants Her Butt Reduced
Kail said she regrets letting Dr. Miami inflate her rear end with a Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) years ago, and now wants to get the procedure reversed.
On Friday’s episode of her Barely Famous podcast, Kail talked about the plastic surgery she’s gotten over the years, including a tummy tuck, Lipo 360 and the BBL she had done live on Snapchat by Dr. Miami in 2016. She told her friend Bone that her posterior has grown too big for her liking.
“In January, I am going to start looking into surgeons for a butt reduction,” Kail said. “Because it is so outrageously big. It hurts, it’s uncomfortable, it doesn’t fit into anything.”
Kail admitted that she was told when she had her 2016 BBL and other surgeries that if she gained weight post-surgery her butt would get bigger. (If you’ve managed to somehow block out the memories of Dr. Miami carving up Kail’s caboose live on Snapchat, allow The Ashley to remind you that Kail had the surgeries after her son Lincoln was born. She has gone on to have five more kids since then.)
During the podcast episode, Kail told Bone that she is afraid to try to lose weight through diet and exercise.
“I don’t know how crazy [my butt] is gonna look if I start losing weight,” she said. “Is my butt going to sag? So I need it to be, like, surgically done.”
Back in June, Kail mentioned that her BBL results were less-than-stellar.
“I love plastic surgery,” Kail said on the Dumb Blonde Podcast. “The only regret I have is not waiting until I was done having kids. I had the Mommy Makeover after my second son and I could definitely go for another.”
She said of all her cosmetic procedures, her BBL has aged the worst.
“I don’t love [my BBL]. I want it removed immediately,” she said. “Gravity is kind of pulling it down a little bit….Dr. Miami did mine and I asked him about it. He said when you gain weight, you’re going to gain wherever your fat cells are. He moved [fat cells] to my butt. My butt has grown exponentially.
“When I did the BBL and I did the Lipo 360 I wanted everything to match because I felt like, ‘I can’t have a huge butt and then have my waist be small and my arms big.’ So I had it in my arms. My butt and my arms have grown insane. But now what? I don’t know what I can do about it. Gravity pulls down your butt a little bit and it just looks crazy and I can’t find jeans that fit me.”
Kail said in June that she didn’t want to have any more surgery until she was (finally) done having kids. (She recently stated that she wants to get her tubes tied now that she’s birthed her twins— aka Babies No. 6 and No. 7.)
“I maintained it for a long time, but I got pregnant the same year that I got my Mommy Makeover. So that was my biggest mistake,” Kail said. “I should have had all the kids I wanted to have and then got it.”
Farrah Abraham Calls Out Jenelle Evans For Latest CPS Drama; David Eason Accuses Farrah of Letting Daughter “Tag Along” While “Tricking”
Let the battle of bad parenting–- featuring fired ‘Teen Mom’ stars–- continue!
Less than a week after fired ‘Teen Mom OG’ star Farrah Abraham and fired ‘Teen Mom 2’ star Jenelle Evans took swipes at each other over social media regarding their respective parenting decisions, the Backdoor Teen Mom and Lady of The Land are back at it.
Farrah told TMZ this week that, while she’s basically nailing this whole parenting thing, she can’t say the same for Jenelle, given Jenelle (and husband David Eason’s) latest drama with Child Protective Services (CPS).
“I am not shading Jenelle but I think ‘Teen Mom’ fans or haters still get it confused at where I am at in my life,” Farrah told TMZ in her signature “Farrah Speak” style. “There is other teen moms who have CPS issues, like Jenelle presently. I think we need to leave some of that CPS messy stuff out of my family and out of my dating dynamic. That definitely upsets me.
“I work very hard to be the best single parent that I can ever be,” Farrah said before seemingly taking a swipe at Jenelle’s decision to stand by David despite him being charged with child abuse recently.
“I can’t say the same for others and their dating lives and the men they choose to date who seem to be abusive,” The Big F said. “I’m not welcoming that into my life at all.”
As The Ashley previously told you, Jenelle and David are currently under CPS investigation; however, just last week, it was Jenelle who took to Instagram urging for a “welfare check” to be conducted at Farrah’s home.
David was clearly not happy that Farrah spoke about the CPS situation he and Jenelle are currently dealing with. He fired off some talkin’ words in the comment section of TMZ’s Facebook post, claiming (just as Jenelle recently did) that it’s Farrah who CPS needs to be keeping a watchful eye on.
“I think CPS would love to know why Farrah let her child tag along while she was allegedly escorting or ‘tricking’ as some would call it,” David wrote. “I call it prostitution but hey, I only know what I’m told by close sources.”
David’s comments come just a week after Farrah (sort of) debuted the new man in her life on Instagram, which resulted in haters speculating within the comment section of her post that her new boo was actually a “John”. (Farrah recently denied the claims that she was a paid escort, stating in an interview that “there are no illegal activities going on in my life.”)
Still, several commenters on the post suggested that CPS be called on Farrah for allegedly leaving her teenage daughter at home alone on Thanksgiving while she was living in up in the Caribbean with her new man.
As The Ashley told you last week, the comments ultimately inspired Farrah to fire off a(nother) dig at Jenelle, seemingly due to Jenelle’s familiarity with the agency.
Farrah has yet to respond to David’s latest accusation.
Nathan Griffith’s Ex Ashley Lanhardt Dodges the Bullet Ties the Knot
Ashley Lanhardt, ex-girlfriend of former ‘Teen Mom 2’ dad (and former swolemate of Jenelle Evans) Nathan Griffith, is officially married.
Ashley and her husband, Richard “Lee” Runion–- who announced their engagement in November 2022–- were married in a ceremony last weekend held at the Powel Crosley Estate in Sarasota, Florida.
Tumblr media
While Ashley mostly stayed out of the spotlight during her relationship with Nathan, fans of ‘Teen Mom 2’ may remember her appearing on a few episodes of the show. One of Ashley’s most memorable ‘Teen Mom 2’ moments happened during the Reunion taping in 2017, during which Ashley hugged Jenelle’s mom, Barbara Evans, resulting in Jenelle becoming enraged and causing a huge scene in the hallway backstage.
The Ashley revealed in March 2021 that Nate and Ashley had gone their separate ways after more than three years of dating, with Ashley reportedly being the one who ended the relationship. While Nate initially denied that he and Ashley split, he went on to confirm the breakup four months later on social media. Nathan even gave a shout-out to the new man in Ashley’s life at the time.
“He’s a very attractive guy,” Nate said. “Him and Ashley are together right now.”
As of this week, Ashley and her man are together forever.
Ashley spoke very HIGH! HIGH! highly of Lee in October while sharing a photo on social media of the two of them obtaining their marriage license.
“ … I have never been more excited for anything in my life,” she wrote. “I can’t wait to marry this handsome man. God knew I needed him. I’m so grateful for such a patient, loving, reassuring person to spend my life with.”
As The Ashley previously reported, Nathan has moved on from his long relationship with Ashley as well. Last year, he married May Oyola. However, it appears their on-and-off-again relationship may be “off” again, as May recently deleted all photos of Nathan off her Instagram account. In August, May and Nathan had celebrated their joint move to Las Vegas with a family photoshoot. (Those photos have since been deleted from May’s Instagram.)
Corey Simms Wins For ‘Teen Mom’ Dad of the Year
Ali Simms isn’t letting her Muscular Dystrophy stop her from doing anything she wants— and her dad, Corey, is right behind her to lend a helping hand, literally.
The ‘Teen Mom 2′ dad warmed fans’ hearts over the weekend when an Instagram video posted by his father, Jeff Simms, circulated the Interwebs. In the video, Ali (whose mom is Leah Messer) can be seen playing her clarinet with her school’s marching band during a holiday parade.
Ali, who usually uses an electric wheelchair to help her with mobility, was obviously unable to play the clarinet and use her hand to control the wheelchair, so her dad Corey stepped in to push her in a wheelchair during the parade.
“Corey has stepped up so much since they were babies; you can tell he’s had a great role model in Poppa Jeff,” one person wrote in the comment section of the video. “I’m glad she got to participate and if y’all don’t notice he’s perfectly in step with everyone else!”
“I’m so glad Corey was there, he sure is an awesome daddy,” another person wrote. “The girls are blessed to have him.”
Ali was diagnosed with a rare form of Muscular Dystrophy in 2014. Last year, Leah posted an update to Instagram on Ali’s condition, following her bi-annual checkup with Ali’s specialist Dr. Tsao.
“All great things- [Dr. Tsao] sees more of an improvement than he ever has, mind & body,” Leah wrote on Instagram. “He said what he sees is remarkable because she seems a lot stronger… He gave a lot of credit to her love, hard work and dedication to reaching horseback riding goals that she sets for herself.
“Reflex is still the same but strength is better- pulmonary is better- weight and growth chart is better than it has ever been,” Leah wrote.

{Legitimately a crime to cut This, and it hurts my soul to do it} @kylo-wrecked
Knit two, purl two. An ever cascading rib stitch while she balances her phone between her ear and her jaw. Elizabeth Riley is no stranger to the small hours that permeate the human experience and people it with dread. With fears that were born with the earth or perhaps even long before it. It’s almost a shame that he can’t see the soft smile that blooms like certain varietals of pikake. A shame he isn’t laying across her couch with his head in her lap while she strokes his hair and occasionally forces small sips of herbal tea on him, promising to add a touch more honey next time.
“Hi,” she murmurs in his pause. “You up to somet’ing exciting?”
A fire-hazard of candles and dim lamp light bath her in flickering amber light. The colour reminds her of those moments sunlight shine directly into his eyes before he blinks himself and everything else away.
He isn’t really calling her so late because he wants to debate the sweeping expanse of ideals and realism. “It’s late,” she says. “And aren’t you small kine past cramming?” She hears movement, imagines the restless sprawl of uncoordinated limbs.
And maybe relief courses through her when he changes tack but doesn’t wholly furl his verbal sails. Good. She doesn’t think he wants to really know that medical humanities were more focused, or when she was in her approaching her residency she actively cared for a child with congenital heart disease as he died of multi-system organ failure and no poetry or philosophical argument could tell her how to let go, or help her soothe him. It was no mystery why she withdrew from the field much to her mentor’s disappointment and understanding entwined, though it isn’t something she’s talked to Ben about. He’d see her as weak. His anxiety shapes his words though and all of her rises up to try and comfort him despite being only a voice carried on the waves between cell towers. He makes her ache with that innocent honesty. And his voice, when it swells, swallows her wince. “Yeah, I s’pose so, but I like Brooklyn. Less scary t’ me dan da city, ya know? Buildings like mountains, blottin’ out da sky. Light pollution. But time..no cure for dat, I don’ t’ink.” It becomes her turn to falter before a little breath somewhere between sigh and gasp telegraphs that she’s stumbled something.
“So wha’ I wan ya do f’ me, okay? Unclench yaself, an’ cuddle up in wha’evah way make you mos’ comfortable, okay?”
Even when she commands, she makes it sound like a request.
“Now, want ya close ya eyes, an’ take deep brea’d in, deep brea’d out.” She imagines him on his side, arms and legs wrapped around a body pillow, the way he would sleep if he ever stayed a full night with her. She closes her eyes in solidarity. Breathes as she instructed. Then, very quietly at first, she reaches back to her childhood, her infancy. She reaches to the piece of herself she’s kept so far out of Ben’s reach, he likely doesn’t know it exists. At first he might hear the hesitation in her tone, she hasn’t chanted properly in what feels like aeons, nor is she a Mea oli, but while she never quite gains volume or speed, it would be almost impossible not to hear her bloom in her soft utterances. “...O ke au i kahuli wela ka honua “O ke au i kahuli lolo ka lani “O ke au i kuka’aika ka la “E ho’omalamalama i ka malama “O ke au o Makali’i ka po “O ka walewale ho’okumu honua ia “O ke kumu o ka lipo, i lipo ai “O ke kumu o ka Po, i po ai “O ka lipolipo, o ka lipolipo “O ka lipo o ka la, o ka lipo o ka po “Po wale ho--’i “Hanau ka po “Hanau Kumulipo i ka po, he kane “Hanau Po’ele i ka po, he wahine...”

Fatphobia and male body standards talk cw
Read a bit about ab etching surgery (i.e. liposuction For Men™) and it seems kinda weird to me that people who have that surgery get called out for having "fake abs."
Like... the abs are real? Those are their real abdominal muscles, they're not silicone implants*. And I am given to understand that typically surgeons will only operate on people who are very physically active and muscular and have a low body fat percentage and are likely to stay in a similar condition**, but whose genetics makes it hard to impossible to have visible abs. So it's not like these guys like... are lazy or just can't be bothered doing some bicycle crunches. Also this procedure can be tens of thousands of dollars, so they did "work hard" to get those results, lol.
I mean, I wish that we would, instead, as a society, move towards an understanding that this aesethetic is very difficult to achieve and maintain, does not mean that you are stronger or more dedicated, and, depending on your genetics, may not be possible to achieve "naturally" no matter how much, or what kind of, excercise you did or how much you restricted caloric intake and stayed on top of your ~macros. And that we'd like... start casting men with abs that were not visible again, or even not especially visible, and men who were not in the entertainment industry would stop feeling like they had to look like an MCU superhero.
But... in lieu of that, I totally understand the desire to pursue cosmetic surgery to achieve that beauty standard and I have no wish to condemn men (especially queer men) whose self image has suffered from the expectation that they should have visible abs.
*also, if someone has silicone implants to give the illusion of six pack abs: good for them. None of my fucking business and I don't care.
**because you do not lose or gain fat cells naturally, they just get bigger or smaller with weight change, so once you have lipo then those cells are gone and if you gain weight after having ab etching done it can look "strange." (In the words of the surgeon quoted in this thing I read. I don't like to say that someone's body looks strange, I think that is a mean thing to say.)
