Missed Communication [Time x Fem!OC x Malon]
In which Time has met his match in the least flattering way possible and Malon has custody of all the brain cells.
A.K.A Time and OC are idiots and Malon's their only saving grace.

This was not how I thought my first visit to Lon Lon Ranch would go.
Maybe a friendly greeting with Time's Misses, a few laughs with the boys and then a well placed excuse to escape the chronic awkwardness (and unease) that seems to dominate my every interaction with the Hero of Time these days.
Not. This. Whatever this is.
---
Our first meeting had been as normal and pleasant as any magic portal driven meeting could be. That is to say, not normal at all but pleasant regardless. Just really, really weird.
The older Hero and I had just clicked, despite this. His nonchalant deadpanned humor matched well with my well-placed instigation and soft-spoken wit. It helped that I was (physically) his age and boosted a maturity surpassing that of most of his charges.
Also, he was handsome as sin. Like, painfully pretty. Don't get me wrong, objectively all the boys were beautiful, but the mature set of Time's jaw and the faint lines around his eyes just stroked the woman in me.
Man has dilf himbo energy in spades. The whole damned package.
Malon was a lucky woman indeed.
The first few months of our aquatince was warm, simple and steeped in a growing trust that grew with each exasperated sideward glance and fond smile shared over the boys' heads. He was, in the truest meaning of the word, my friend. I dare even say a good one.
And then it happened.
That damned fortune teller.
The beginning of the end of our budding friendship. Stopped dead in it's tracks in less than the span of a breath.
I don't know what she'd told him that day, and he wouldn't tell, but it changed something fundimental in the bond I'd thought we'd shared. Now, he can hardly stand to look at me most days, let alone have a full converstion.
And I'm...just so lost.
It hurts, the sudden distance. So unexpected. One moment we're sleeping next to each other each night, whispering fondly about his beloved wife and my beloved pets, and the next an entire fire and six bedrolls lay between us.
But what can I do. He'd made his stance clear, silent though it may be, and who am I to cling to a friendship I was the only one harboring. It wasn't fair to him, and it most certainly wasn't fair to me.
So, I let it go. Just stayed in the back of the group where our paths wouldn't have to cross and began to forge new friendships among the boys. And honestly, I'm still enjoying myself among this gaggle of sweet, overly protective gremlins. Despite whatever misfortune (or miscommunication) caused this rift between Time and I.
Case in point, Legend might just be the funniest guy I've met in a long time and I'm glad I've had the opportunity to grow closer to him. Even if his words sometimes bite a little too close to home. Though Hyrule's quiet concern over the strained interaction between thier unofficial leader and myself often leaves me feeling guilty. His large, inquiring eyes and soft, sympathetic smile enough to shake a woman down to the bones.
Such sensitive boys, all of them.
I wish I'd had answers for them.
Especially when it all took an even deeper nosedive when Time recieved a letter from his wife. Standard fair but for the way his eye had hooded and cut towards me for just the briefest of moments, focused and cold.
Had I not been looking around the group as I had in that moment, I would have missed it entirely. But be it fate or luck (ill though it may have been) I had unintentionally made eye contact with him.
It was the first time in all my interactions with the Chain that I felt...
...afraid. Of him.
But it was gone as soon as it happened. Seemingly a simple misread flicker of the firelight, but for the way my heart stood cold in my chest for the rest of the night afterward.
And many more nights to follow.
So, upon exiting the portal to the wide pastures of a land I pegged to be Time's, I steeled myself. Against what, I wasn't sure, but I was on his home turf now and he certainly didn't seem to want me around. So, I'd imagine he'd take exception to my presence in his home.
But nothing could have prepared me for...
"Goodness! Why, aren't ya just the sweetest thing! All doe eyed and honey dew smile! Dear! Why didn't you tell me she'd be such a darling!"
Malon.
She took to me like a bee to pollen, a moth to light. She locked her arm with mine immediately and refused to budge, even as she embraced the boys one by one. Her dark blue eyes were glimmering (like the surface of deep water) and hair shining in the sunlight. Sun-kissed face glowing with wonder and delight. The freckles on her cheeks charming across her sweat slicked skin.
She was wonderful. She was beautiful.
I was terrified.
I couldn't bring myself to look in Time's direction. I didn't think my heart would survive what I'd find.
I was afraid to see that cold, focused eye ripping though my soul again, as though staring down an enemy.
I made my excuses early, feigning weariness, much to Melon's dismay. She took it well enough though. Called me a delicate, spring flower. Showed me to the guests rooms, offered me my own. I refused (I wanted to stay with the boys. She seemed charmed by the admission). Touched my hand with such warmth, was slow to withdraw.
I smiled at her, small but grateful, hesitant. My heart was hammering in my chest. The hairs on the back of my neck rose at the feeling of a stare on the side of my face.
She smiled back, seemingly eager for my tentative gestures of friendship. So very sincere, radiating the kind of adoration a person spends their whole lives searching for.
I didn't look to her right. I didn't look up nor  over her shoulder. I kept my eyes on hers, entranced by their dark colors and the little sparks of life dancing within depths but afraid to tell her so.
She was absolutely gorgeous and I was so smitten and so very fucked.
I hoped my face didn't give me away. I prayed that my eyes didn't reveal my thoughts.
When her eyes crinkled at the corners, I knew I'd failed.
I bid them a good evening.
Even as I'd closed the door I could still feel his gaze on me.
I stayed in the room all that evening and all through the night. Four was sweet enough to bring me a plate of dinner, and I was once again so grateful to be in the company of such caring young men.
I really, really was.
That night I slept with Hyrule curled against my back, trying to be the best big spoon he could. Sky was at his, the whole damned ladle to encompass us both within his arms. Legend at our feet, his hand curled loosely around Sky's half rumpled sock and face scrunched in discontent, fingers occasionally twitching around the fabric.
I loved them all so much.
---
Then things got weird.
I exited the room the next morning before the majority of the boys had even left their bedrolls and found Time waiting at the end of the hallway. He was wearing a plain off-white shirt and dark pants.
He looked good. Relaxed, almost, but for the tension in his shoulders when he caught sight of me. The reminder was enough to tear my eyes from him and keep my gaze lowered as I moved steadily to walk passed him.
"Hey." The sound of his voice startled me, so long has it been since it was directed towards me.
He sounded awkward and I wanted to ease that awkwardness. I did not have the strength to, however. I was a coward.
And hurt. Very, very hurt.
Petty.
"Yes?" I eventually said after the stilted silence had carried on too long, unable to keep watching this strong man (this good man, still, for all we were at odds) struggling to continue.
His one good eye tried to meet my gaze, feather soft and regretful in my peripheral, so very vulnerable under my carefully blank stare fixated on his cheek.
"I know I don't deserve it, and you need not accept, but I'd like to properly apologize for the way I've treated you in the recent weeks." He finally managed, voice laden with an emotion I couldn't fully place but thought sounded suspiciously like grief. "If you'd allow me, may I please escort you to the kitchen?"
I wanted to say no. I wanted to stay silent. I wanted to be petty.
I wanted Sky to stop worrying about me. I wanted Twilight to stop repenting to me. I wanted Hyrule to stop fretting for me. I wanted Warriors to stop defending me. I wanted Wild to stop raging for me. I wanted Legend to stop hurting for me.
I wanted...I just wanted...
I just wanted my friend back.
I wanted to feel safe again.
"Okay."
I've always been such a fool for vulnerable men.
Tentatively, he offered his arm, eye soft and resigned from the corner of my vision. Waiting for me to reject him, I realized, wanting me to express my rage the only way he knew I'd allow myself. Wanting to be punished accordingly for having suddenly scorned my friendly gestures and inquiring whispers.
What a fool man. Such a damned idiot.
Guess that makes two of us.
I took his arm, fighting down the wave of unease and spite that pushed against my throat. His arm was warm and solid under my tentative touch, barely restrained power coursing under the cloth and skin. I'd nearly forgotten how his shoulders seemed wide enough to carry the weight of the world.
No. No I hadn't. In the quiet of the night, when the unease and uncertainty were strongest, sometimes I wondered if that might would one day snuff the light from my eyes.
I wondered if he'd cry in remorse afterwards. If he'd feel anything at all.
He wouldn't. He wouldn't feel a thing because he'd never do that and I knew it. Wouldn't have been fighting for breathing room between Sky and Hyrule's smothering heat if he'd had any intent to remove me from their lives. Wouldn't have been cradling Wind's small head between the soft valley of my breasts if he'd deemed me dangerous or unsavory or suspicious.
I may have fallen out of his favor, but he loved his boys with a fierce and zealous devotion. He'd never let harm befall them, be it body, soul or tenderly beating hearts.
He'd have cut me down long ago if he ever meant to. To spare his boys the pain of loss.
The kitchen was bright and smelled faintly of herbs when we entered, my arm still folded gently with Time's.
Malon was there, enchanting red hair down around her shoulders and eyes bright, despite the early hour. The faint crease lines of pillow marks reddened the soft curve of her cheek, stark even against the spread of her freckles.
She smiled at me, tired and fond, before pinning her husband with an intense, expectant stare. The set of her mouth and brow was carefully neutral, but the fire in her eyes gave away her true feelings.
She was mad. Not livid or spiteful or even disappointed, just mad.
She was scarier for it. I could tell she wasn't the type of woman to go off on a rampage and say or do anything that would deminish the validity of her own arguements or feelings. She was probably the type of woman to say exactly what she means and how she feels without embellishment nor doubt. She seemed the type of person you couldn't find fault in their anger, because it was perfectly supported by their words and actions.
Noticing this, I almost felt bad for Time and how thoroughly he was probably admonished to make him this compliant after weeks of silence and avoidance. Almost. Mostly I just felt a hesitant spark of validation and kinship with Malon, even as confusion and caution swirled in my chest.
Why? Why was this even happening in the first place? Why this sudden atmosphere around the couple?
They loved each other so much. They missed each other so much. Before- that happened, Time never shied away from expressing his feelings regarding his wife. Nor what she'd written to him in turn.
What happened? What did she see between Time and I that would bring her scrutiny down on her beloved husband? For a woman she didn't even know?
Time led me to the chairs closest to where Malon was leaning against the counter, loosening his grip enough for me to remove my arm from his. It seemed to be another conscious decision on his part, to not pull away and to allow me to be in control of our proximity. Honestly, it was sweet he was trying so hard, and had it been before all of...this, I certainly would have swooned at the effort he was making.
I steeled myself against the warm feeling trying to take root in my stomach though, and instead took a seat at the counter.
"Good mornin', darlin'. You sleep well?" Malon asked softly, eyes warm and sleep dry lips pulled into a tired but inviting smile.
I nodded, before managing to speak around the lump in my throat. "Yes. Thank you for having us, Ms. Malon. I apologize for retiring early last night. The road left me quite weary. You and your husband's hospitality is most appreciated."
I noticed a spark of something glinting in Malon's dark eyes, before it was soothed down with a bright smile. "Now, now! There's no need for that, dear! You're always welcome here!"
She looked to her husband then, and when I instinctively followed her gaze, I wasn't expecting what I saw.
His jaw was clenched, betraying the- false- smoothness of his brow and relaxed curve of his ears. He was upset, but trying to reign it in and project a calm front. The lines around his eye gave him away though.
He looked hurt. Gazing into Malon's eyes with a lost expression.
What was happening?
I couldn't take it anymore. This underline tension and these confusing actions and feelings being tossed over my head. Like fists full of powder clogging my senses.
"I'm sorry, but, please." I said softly, bringing their attention back to me. My stomach rolled, but I pushed on. "I don't understand what's happening right now." I kept my eyes averted. "Please just explain it to me, so I can understand how to fix this."
Silence.
I spoke once more into that silence. Voice tight with emotion and broken, useless pride as I continued.
"I'm sorry for this tension I've caused. I meant no harm. I just want to make amends for whatever I did to offend you." I looked Time in the eyes. The first time since that fateful night we locked gazes across the fire. "I'm sorry. Tell me how to fix this. Please, Link."
The warm slide of tears escaped down my cheeks without permission, my body no longer able to hold back the immensity of my feelings. The hurt, the confusion, the desperation. The pulsing, writhing, whispering doubt that was my fear.
Fear of this man's wrath and the power he so casually holds over me, a foreign woman with no means to properly defend or support herself in this strange, unfamiliar world. Who's very survival hangs by the thin thread that is the Chain's compassion and continued favor.
Fear of his every frown and unreadable silence. Of the loyalty the boys hold for this man and his words, his influence, his command. Of how quickly he can take it all away in a moment of displeasure or offense. This warm safety net of fondness and companionship I've built myself within the soft, welcoming hearts of the boys, nothing more than delicate silk webs weaved around his fingers. Allowed purchase by the grace of his will alone.
Fear of his overwhelming strength, his unrelenting fury in the face of opposition. Of his unyielding might and unfathomable abilities beyond anything my limited understanding of this world can comprehend. The raw talent he possesses, the potential he wields, like magic weaving themselves into mortal flesh.
My shoulders begin to shake, throat closing as I hide my face in my hands, fingers wetting with tears. The weight of everything crashing down like stones upon my chest and I'm overwhelmed by the fall.
I miss my world, my home, my family, my friends. I miss my independence. I miss the security of knowing how to survive in the world around me, of being able to support myself and choose whom I give myself wholly over to.
I miss the power to live without fear of others opinions or goodwill. To stare down those who would judge and scorn me with the confidence of a woman with a full time job and the money to back up her words. Her own apartment, her own bills. A phone and heating and water and food and furry little mouths to feed.
A woman assured of herself and where she stands in the world. I woman without fear.
The woman I used to be. Not this sniveling, begging shell of a creature clinging to life by the favor of a man. Who. Hates. Her.
Eventually, the tears ran their course and I finally became aware of myself again. Arms were around me, holding me against warm muscle hidden under soft cloth as my hands twisted into their long sleeve.
"I...I'm sorry." I choked, embarrassed and struggling to breathe through blocked sinuses. "I didn't mean to...to..."
I opened my eyes.
I realized, staring at Malon's blurred face twisted in compassion from across the counter, that it wasn't her holding me.
She wasn't the one holding me.
My breath nearly hitched in anxiety, stomach dropping in the cold void of my guts. My mind reeled with confusion, a thousand thoughts swirling through my head between one breath and the next. A cold sweat broke out along the nape of my neck, along my lower back.
I'd frozen, still clutching to the sleeve between my fingers and my shoulder tucked into a chest (firm, laden with dense, lithe muscle) that could only belong to one man.
This didn't make sense. Being forced by your wife to apologize was one thing, but to actively comfort the person you resented was something else entirely. I couldn't wrap my head around it.
I felt confused, wrong-footed, relieved. But mostly, I felt stupid. Because I didn't understand a damned thing that was happening right now or what had caused this sudden shift in Time's behavior.
Then Time started speaking, and it was like the entire world began to shatter and remake itself around me.
"I'm sorry. I didn't think- I didn't know-" He paused briefly, before taking a deep, fortifying breath and continuing. "I'm sorry I hurt you. That I put fear in your heart. It was never my intention. I hadn't even considered how the situation must have looked to you."
Another breath, the slightest tensing of his arms around my shoulders. "You always seem so calm and assured in everything you do. It didn't even cross my mind that you might feel vulnerable after everything that's happened to you."
My heart squeezed. All my insecurities, being laid out before me. One glance at Malon's knowing gaze and I understand where this sudden awareness must have come from.
Time continued, heedless of my newfound understanding. "I never once intended to cast you aside or let harm befall you. I care for you so dearly. Even if you had decided to reject my companionship, I'd still protect you all the same. I thought you knew that, but I was wrong. I should never have assumed you knew something I didn't tell you."
He sighed, but it sounded shaky in my ear. "I hadn't stopped to consider your feelings, before I sought to protect my own. And for that, I'm sorry."
The arms around me tightened, as though trying to impart the sincerety of his words with the action. He needn't have bothered though, because despite it all I believed every word he spoke.
If there was one thing I could always rely on, it was his honesty in matters regarding the heart. No matter how strained our friendship became, it was the one thing I knew he would not actively lie about.
But still.
"But I never did anything to you." I sniffed wetly, fingers digging into his sleeve as I fixated my gaze at the countertop where Malon's freckled hands were resting. "I don't understand why you suddenly felt the need to- escape from me." The tears wanted to come again, but I held them back. This was too important to lose focus. "Please help me understand. The fortune teller-"
Time groaned suddenly and Malon laughed with impish delight, a glint of mischief making an unexpected appearance in her eyes. The sound of Malon's laughter brought confused warmth to my chest, cutting through the thick turmoil muddying up my mind.
Awkward silence. Until Time sighed again. Deeply.
"She told me I'd find new and- passionate love."
What?
Wait, what?
I pulled away from his arms a bit, just enough to turn and peer at him through watery lashes, taking in his blurry visage. My brows pulled down and a look of disbelief no doubt found purchase on my face, mouth pressed in a tight line.
"That's it? Weeks of avoidance and radio silence because some lady in a tent said you'd get the hots for someone? And you just assumed that someone might be me?"
I couldn't believe it. All this time. Just because some lady happened to see us traveling close together and decided to play matchmaker? Really?
Of all the-
Wait a damned minute.
"Time?" I said, tone flat as I locked gazes with him. Dead serious.
He looked right back, though there was caution in his eye now along side the regret. "Yes?"
I leaned forward a bit, our already close proximity putting me squarely in his face. My could feel the spark of rightous rage taking form in my chest.
"You weren't having doubts about your marriage with Malon, were you?"
And suddenly there was no space between us, noses nearly touching, his stare so intense I almost pulled back despite still being trapped in his arms. I could feel the warm, damp spread of his breath against my lips and chin.
"No." He said with dead calm, the hard surety of his tone left no room for doubt.
"Good. Because if you were, you don't deserve her." I threw back, still giving him a hard stare.
Silence. He breaths smelled of coffee and something sweet coated over his natural scent. It made my gut twist in a not unpleasant way. It reminded me that his arms were still around me. How warm he was in the morning chill. How firm his muscles were against my hands and shoulder.
He grinned then, eye brimming with fae-like mirth as he rested his forehead against mine. It was the first time I've seen that beautiful expression in so long. My heart ached at the sight of it, warmth and sweet relief flooding into my heart like babbling spring water.
"There you are." He breathed lowly, eye closing as he leaned more into our point of contact. He inhaled deeply through his nose, shoulders relaxing. I hadn't even noticed until then just how tense they were. "I thought I'd ruined this."
"Hmm?" I hummed in question, still caught up in the rapture of seeing his smile again. Head foggy from our proximity, I felt the beginnings of fatigue settling into my bones from my earlier crying.
"My! Would ya look at that! You weren't kiddin' when ya said she had them lovin' eyes, darling!" Malon spoke up suddenly with barely contained glee, popping the bubble that seemed to exist around Time and I.
I pulled away hurriedly, realizing just how close Time and I had been. Sharing breath, foreheads resting against one another and our noses nearly bumping together. His arms around me and my body nestled into his chest. All of it completely inappropriate for the situation. Especially for being right in front of his wife!
And she sounded far too pleased with this whole thing. Like it didn't even matter that I'd just blubbered in her husband's arms and then touched my face to his like I had a right to.
The confusion was back. But this time, it pulled bright, sweet warmth to my cheeks as I stumbled to my feet. The gentle wink of butterfly wings swirled around in my stomach and Malon's delighted smirk only intensified the sensation, sending the flock up into my throat.
I needed to get away. I needed to think.
"I-I accept your apology, Time!" I stuttered out embarrassedly, fighting the blush I knew was trying to heat my face. "I hope we can talk more later, but I'd like time to think about what you said!" I explained a bit too loudly even to my own ears, nearly wincing at my own awkwardness.
Malon, having come from behind the counter, leaned against her husband's back, hands on his shoulders. She smiled sweetly, a complimentary expression to Time's amused grin. Both of them were haloed by the sun shining softly through the window behind them, like a Goddamned magazine cover.
Goodness, but do they make a beautiful couple.
No. Stay focused. Escape first and then figure out what the Hell is happening. Get yourself together.
"Have a good day, Time, Malon!" Time's lip twitched upward. My stomach squeezed. "Okay! Bye for now."
Then, I all but ran from the kitchen, leaving behind what may have been the last of my dignity. Behind me, Malon's sweet laughter chased me down the hall, alighting my face with hellfire.
And therein began my first official day at Lon Lon Ranch.
---
Because of the limited perspective of first person narrative, a lot of the finer details are implied rather then stated. So if something seems out of left field, it's because the OC herself didn't realize what was happening behind the scenes.
Now I must return to the shadows to rest.

Chapter 10: A Family Grows Tighter
Warrior's looking at the ground. "Are you alright? Do you feel ok?"
Enno looks up at him, a bit confused “I’m alive, but not hurt. You’re the one that got hit. We heard you from your room.” They hold his hands. “Are you ok Link?”
"Ah." His other hand comes up to his head. "I'm alright."
He smiles, subdued and downtrodden. His lip wobbles for a moment before he pulls them into a tight hug. His grip is borderline crushing, he's holding them so tightly.
"I was terrified." He admits in a whisper. "And then I saw you..... there... right after..."
He hugs Enno tighter by a fraction. "You were there..."
Enno hugs him back, letting him have this. But they have the slight inclination that he might be mad at them.
“I heard you and couldn’t just leave you there.” They lean into him, taking him in. They look up at him. Their chin was on his chest as they looked up at him. “I know I’m not a fighter. But I am impulsive.”
"You came for me..." He tilts his head back to them momentarily before going back to where he was. "Thank you."
He takes a deep breath. "She was going to go straight for you. I was so angry... I sliced into her. And then she vanished. I thought... I thought she was going to." He starts shaking.
He pulls back and cups their cheek, tilting them up to kiss them gently. He might start crying. "I thought I'd lose you. It would have been my fault."
"Warrior?! Enno?!" Wind calls down the hallway. "....Dad? .....Moma?"
Enno freezes at the nickname and Wind’s calls before they started blushing
“We are here sweetheart.” They called back, still hugging Warrior.
“It wouldn’t be your fault by the way. There is no need to put that much on your shoulders.” Enno said to Warrior before Wind could arrive. “But the feelings are the same. That’s why I came to you. If you were to pass away…” They shake their head. “Lets’ not think about that. Our son needs us.”
Warrior sniffles and wipes his eyes quickly. "I knew she'd try something though! I'm the one-"
"Guys!" Wind spots them and runs to them both. He crashes into both of them, wrapping one arm around each. He looks up to Enno with a miserable face. "You said five minutes!"
Enno leaned down and kissed his forehead, “I’m sorry Sailor. Things got a little more hectic than I was expecting. But everything is fine now. Let's all go back to the room.” They bring Wind into this mini hug. They’re not tired though- so who knows how they’re going to spend the time in the room.
Wind sniffles and hugs both of them tighter.. "The guards said it was bad."
Warrior tenses.
"They saw the blood. I didn't know if it was yours or-"
"Hers." Warrior wraps his arm around him too, looking at Enno. "We're ok."
“We are safe. You are safe.” Enno gives Wind a pat on the head and sends Warrior a ‘I will lie but I’m not happy about you being hurt’ look. Then they bend down to pick Wind up.
“Up we go.” They said, struggling a bit but still managed to pick Wind up.
Warrior helps them instinctually to support him properly before placing his hand at the small of their to guide them down the hallway. He is on the constant look out as Wind quietly tries to calm himself against Enno, purring for comfort.  Warrior runs his hands through Wind's hair, not once stopping. He needs to get back to the comfort and safety of his room. Everything else is more vulnerable than he'd like.
Enno purrs with Wind to calm him down. They walked in relative silence the entire time. It was because Enno didn’t know what to say in front of Wind. The journey to Warrior’s room seemed shorter but also longer than before. They got there at the end though.
“Unpacking timeeee.” Enno sighed, remembering that they and Wind still needed to do that gift thing.It felt like the mood was ruined for that though. Enno slowly started to feel emotionally exhausted. Most of their feelings were numbed at this point.
Warrior opens the door and freezes.
There is a mountain of gold and jewels and treasures on his bed. It’s large enough where it’s overflowing onto the ground. The things they bought are stuffed in the corner of the room.
Warrior’s eyes widen and he's stuck by the door.
Wind looks up. "Oh yeah, that's here too."
“I didn’t see that before.” Enno said, looking over it. they should have bought the ottoman for the room. At least it could help organize some of this. “Where should we put it, Captain?”
Warrior coughs and closes his door. "Uhhh..... I don't have enough room in here to hide it all."
Wind pushes himself off of Enno, his feet hitting the floor gently. "You're gonna have to get a cave or a magic chest to put it all so Cia can't get anything."
Warrior moves to the pile and picks up a few pieces of treasure.  "Take something."
He turns to the both of them. "This is more than I thought it would be. Take something for yourself.... You especially, Enno."
"I-" Enno looked between Warrior and the treasure.
"I don't-" There was a pause as they tried to get their thoughts in order. "I don't need much, because I have both of you. I did see an ottoman at the store today. I thought about buying it so you would have room to grow. But uh..." They gesture to the pile. "I wasn't expecting this."
Warrior snorts. He moves over to them and gently pulls them to his side. "You should have gotten it."
"It was big and I didn't want to spend that much with your money." Enno lets him bring them in and proceeds to hug him back.
"I insist. It's not about you needing it. Take whatever you want."
"Can I take you?" Enno tried to avoid the topic by flirting.
Warrior snorts, leaning over to kiss them. "You already have me."
"Gross." Wind sticks his tongue out, already looking through the jewels and gold. He's tossing a lot of it on the floor without much care. "The nobles here sure like their fancy stuff."
"That they do." Warrior grimaces at the sound of his carelessness. "Come."
He takes Enno’s hand and leads them to the bed. "At least help me sort through it?"
"I can do that." They move some of the treasure on the floor and start to make specific piles.
"We probably should figure out how to store this before we leave." There was gold, rupees, gems and other miscellaneous stuff. "Just so when we come back, we don't have to think about it. Tonight we just want it off of the bed and out of the way. That should be fine, right?"
"Yes." Warrior sighs, looking through it and passing smaller clumps of the pile for Enno to sort through. Wind has since stopped making a mess and has begun to toss what he already moved into the same piles. He's helping to organize.
"I don't want to do anything else today." Warrior admits. "I wanna end today on a good note and ignore the bump on my head."
"How'd you get that?" Wind perks up. "Was it Cia?"
"I crashed into the door."
"Oh, it was you being dumb. Ok." Wind calms back down, a snicker on his own lips. "Got it."
Warrior sticks his tongue out.
Enno snickered at the comment too but continued to sort, getting into a groove with it.
"You can start to turn in early." They offered. "I enjoy doing repetitive tasks so I can do this alone. Just take things off of the bed. Be careful because I think my stuff is still underneath all of it."
"And leave you alone?" Warrior raises an eyebrow. "No way. I would have had to do this anyway. I have to know what's at my disposal."
Wind grins and stands up straight. "It's a lot of stuff though. He'd need to help get everything off, including your stuff. Or else he risks being crushed under it all....or breaking it."
"I'm not a fan of either of those options." Warrior mumbles. "At least it's not heavy labor."
Enno glanced at Warrior's shoulder that was hit. They bite their lip but look away again.
"Yeah, that's probably a good idea." They dig through more of the unorganized pile. With every ruby Enno picked up, the thought of Warrior's scales came into mind. "I don't understand collecting gems or gold. But I think that's more of a me thing." Enno said out loud. "I collected different things in my world."
Both Warrior and Wind freeze and stiffen up.
Warrior looks back at them with an interest, a soft smile on his face. "What did you collect?"
"Mmmmm ...so one of my collections you guys don't really have here. The closest would be brooches. They are just small pins that have an image on them. I like to have themes that I collect so I don't just buy all of them. The group with the most are basically the places I or my dad have been." Enno tried to explain, focusing more on organizing. "Then the other collection I just do for fun is stuffed animals. Those people normally just gift me, unless I really get attached to one while I'm out. I more or less collect things to remind myself of places or people or moments."
Warrior hums and looks back to the treasure. "I like that. It's endearing."
Wind tilts his head and goes back to sorting. "Tetra likes to get as much gold as she can. She would try to take this entire pile if she could."
Enno turned back to reach for more but there was none.
"Is there more?" They turned around. "I was actually slightly spacing out while doing that."
They moved closer so that they were partly lying on the bed. They know that they need to help with the last of this and finish organizing it but Warrior might still have work to do despite his proclaimed “days off”. "Tomorrow, remind me to go out to see if I can find something."
"Would you remember your way around?" Warrior places the last of the treasure aside.
"I can go!" Wind offers.
Warrior smiles and manages to dig out Enno’s things from the bottom of the pile. "You could.... if Enno is ok with it."
"Moma, please!" Wind jumps in front of them, his hands lacing together in front of him. "Please! I'll be good. I promise."
They were taken back once more by Wind's student nickname. "It's just going to be a short trip are you sure?" Enno gathered their stuff to get their normal pj's out. Avoiding acknowledging their flustered stat, they began fiddling with the braids and ribbon still on their head. "Can you help get the headband out Cap?"
"Ah- right." Warrior drops what he had and moves over to them immediately.
"Yes! I can do it! I can show you around!" Wind jumps up and down. "Please? Please!"
Warrior slowly plucks out their hair and pulls their hair out gently, letting them fall and detangle themselves.
He pulls the headband out. "Better?"
"Very. Thank you." Enno turned to give him a kiss. "And Wind, we can look for a magic chest or something together. I just need to do one thing in the morning before we leave."
Warrior hums, running his fingers through their hair. He hands them their headband.
"Take care ok? I..." Warrior sighs, tired. "Will have to fill out a report."
"It's a short trip out, don't worry." Enno reached up to give his hair a ruffle. "Think about it this way we won't be out long so we will just come back and annoy you while you work."
Warrior groans but he grins. "Please.. I'd love nothing more."
Wind's smile turns a bit tight. "Is it about today?"
"....Yeeaaahhhh..." Warrior sighs.
Enno wanted to ask what happened to Cia but they shut up only for Wind’s sake. “I hope it’s not much. I rather you don’t have to spend all day inside.” Enno said before checking the time. “We should get to bed.”
"I didn't start this." Warrior says. "And it was a long time coming. So I think I'll be fine. I've just never been a fan of paperwork. However, I got out of it in Pinky's case... can't really escape this one."
Wind frowns and climbs onto the bed. "But you're not in trouble, right?"
Warrior looks over and climbs in as well, latching onto Wind to give him a noogie. "I'll take care of it. Don't you worry bout a thing."
“Alright boys, time to get ready for sleep.” Enno looked on, smiling softly before getting up and gathering their pj’s. They went into the bathroom to change quickly, feeling a bit weird that they’re not wearing anything oversized. “Hey, can I keep this tunic?”
"Which one?" Warrior calls out. "The one you have on or something that I didn't notice you grab- what?"
"Surprise!" Wind shouts. "It's for you. I hid it in your pocket."
Enno’s smile grows knowingly as they come back out of the bathroom. “This is the one I want.”
They hold up the red tunic.
“What cha got there?” They fold the tunic and put it on the dresser to put back in the morning.
Warrior looks to Enno and the watch in his hands. He looks back at them. "You set this up."
He smiles.
Wind grins and leans back on the bed. "They told me too."
"I believe you."
Enno rolled their eyes affectionately. “Maybe. It's a small thing some families do in my world. Let me live.” They crawl into the bed. “What are you going to do about it?”
"Treasure it forever and always." Warrior says, tucking it in one of his pockets. "I'm never going anywhere without it now."
Warrior crawls over to them and kisses them again. "Thank you."
He grabs onto Wind and wrestles with him for a moment too before he also gives him a kiss to his hair. "And you pirate...I didn't even notice."
Wind giggles. "I'm very sneaky."
“He is a pirate.” Enno points out. “You’re welcome. I told you I would only buy for you and-“ Enno joined in hugging Wind, snuggling with him, “-our wonderful cute son.”
Wind groans as he tries to get out of the hold. "I'm not cute!"
"You're super cute." Warrior pinches his cheek. "Handsome even."
Enno started purring contently, giving both boys kisses. Wind got a forehead kiss while Warrior got a kiss close to his lips but purposely missing. “Both of my amazing boy’s are cute and sweet and amazing.”
Warrior grunts in dissatisfaction but doesn't do anything about it. "And you are lovely and wonderful and kind and caring."
Wind snickers and simply cuddles closer to the both of them like the night before. "Good night Dad. Goodnight Moma."
“Nighty night. Love you.” Enno lets the boy breathe so he could sleep. They looked at Warrior and reached out to cup his face. “You should sleep too. Its sounds like a fun day for you tomorrow”
Warrior rolls his eyes, his hand coming up to cup theirs too. "I'm so excited. Be safe. For my sake and yours, ok?"
“I would say what's the worst that can happen…” Enno turned to kiss his hand. “We will be safe. It’s only for an hour or two. I promise.”
Warrior smiles and fully leans against the pillows now. "Alright. That's do-able."
Wind yawns once more and turns towards Enno. He snuggles closer, gripping their shirt with his hands.
Warrior snorts. "Goodnight kid."
Enno feels their heart melt as Wind cuddles into them. They play with his hair as he sleeps. However, Enno was worried about what could happen now that Warrior wouldn’t be with them the following morning. When they knew that Wind was fully asleep, they finally asked, “What’s going to happen with Cia? Will it be ok for us to go out?”
Warrior hums and doesn't answer them for a while. "She's incapacitated. Unconscious. She won't be able to get to you guys anyway. But that's not what I'm worried about."
He looks up from Wind and reaches over to them, tucking their hair behind their ear. "I'm paranoid to a fault. But what happened with Pinky is not exactly giving me confidence about this."
He looks back down adoringly at Wind. "I trust him though. He may be the smallest of us but he's right. He's sneaky. It should be fine."
“Same but like… Would someone do the same thing to me when I’m a dragon and now that I have a claim?” They whispered, confused. “I mean I trust Wind too, but I thought the reason that happened was because Pinky is a human.”
"....I dont know..." Warrior admits. "Pinky would have been under Time's protection and dragons can figure out… more or less the power behind the dragon that made the claim. That should have been enough of a deter. Then again I've met the guy and he's always been selfishly stupid. The fact that she's just a human may have been a part of his calculation as well though. …Seeing that she wouldn't have been able to fight back."
Warrior pauses and lays down. "In any case, you can always shock them like you did to Cia if they tried and I know Wind won't go down without a fight. Just remember to bring some magic potions when you go out, ok? Just in case."
"I was going to head down to the medical center to get a quick check up before we go." Enno admitted quietly.  "I want to know how bad it is, but that’s for later. Bedtime."
Warrior hums and nods. "Let me know how it goes, ok?"
"Of course." They put their head down and start to rest. "Nighty night, pretty boy."
"Goodnight gorgeous." Warrior takes a breath and closes his eyes.
He falls asleep instantly.
Despite recent events, the trio shockingly didn't wake up from any knocking on the door. No one came to bother them for a change.
Enno woke up to find Warrior out of the bed again. Wind, however, was still fast asleep, curled up next to them. They smiled down at Wind and gently kissed his forehead before peeling him off and slipping out, stretching.
Warrior steps out of the bathroom with only his pants on. He's drying his hair roughly with the towel as he b-lines toward his dresser. To his credit, he's incredibly silent.
Enno turned their head to say good morning but instantly turned away, blushing. They slide off the bed and go get their stuff, wondering if they should wear their own clothing today. "Morning."
Warrior froze and looked back at them. He notices their blush but says nothing.
"Did I wake you up?" He asks quietly for Wind's sake.
Enno shook their head, not trusting their voice as they dug through their stuff. They tried to calm themselves down, taking out wearable clothing. "I am probably going to head down to the medical center now. If Wind wakes up, tell him I'll meet him at breakfast?"
Warrior hums, tossing the towel over his shoulders. "Tell me how it goes. I'll be here for the most part but if you come back and I'm not, I'll most likely be in my office."
Wind groans in his sleep, shifting but not waking. Warrior shakes his head but doesn't comment on the boy. He goes back to looking for a decent and clean shirt to wear. Enno changes quickly, giving Warrior a kiss. "See you."
They take their bag and head off.
Warrior followed them but they moved too fast for him to be able to kiss them again properly. He thinks it's funny. "Bye bye. Be safe. Don't get lost."
“I won’t.” They bolted. The quicker, the better.
Wind startles from the door shutting with more force than strictly necessary. He looks around and sits up. "Moma?"
"Just left, buddy." Warrior smiled. "Good morning."
"Good morning, dad." Wind flops back against the bed.
Enno was rushing down the stairs, only to come face to face with nurses rushing around. “Huh, maybe another day...”
One doctor stops before they can get away. "I'm sorry, Are you here for something?"
"Ah- Yes. I was hoping to get a check up." Enno instantly became awkward. "The last two days I haven't done any magic but it still was being drained. I felt very weak, face numbed, shaking and nauseous. It only went away when my partner gave me a magic potion. I got concerned because of all those symptoms and wanted to see if you guys could do anything to check to make sure everything is ok." They look behind the doctor, seeing the chaos just beyond the reception desk. They lie through their teeth. "If you guys are busy, I can come back tomorrow if possible."
The doctor looked torn. He looks behind him and then back to them and sighs. "There's one room we can get you in. I'll have to send a nurse in and get you checked up. I won't personally be able to look at you but you're in luck, our specialist is in today. She will be able to more accurately look you over. I'll see if she has an open spot."
"Thank you. I'm sorry for adding more work for you guys." Enno followed him to the room.
The doctor sighs and opens up a room. There's multiple people bustling about. There is a whole corner of the wall taken out.
"We've been very busy and have had two break ins in the last 24 hours. Not only are we trying to up security but we're also dealing with some confidential patients. Please forgive the inconvenience." The doctor bows and turns around. "The nurse will be here shortly. I'll let her know that there's a dragon waiting for treatment."
"Ah- no, I understand. Thank you for everything." They smiled and sat on the bed, waiting for the nurse. This was the most annoying part but at least they were taken in.
Enno had to wait for at least 30 minutes before a frazzled looking nurse came into the room. "I'm so sorry for the wait. We're trying to get as much done as we can with short staff and unexpected events. I'll be your nurse for today. I just need to take your vitals and the doctor will be in shortly-"
The door opens and a tall woman with curly brown hair steps into the room.
"....The Doctor is here." The nurse sighs, trying to rush through the process.

Well, when he's willing to ofc (not like he wouldn't for his darling—)

╰┈➤ ❝ Chain/OC Pairing! ❞
┊ ➶ 。˚ ° Warning! Long list of Chain/OC pairing ahead! Ahah!
┊ ➶ 。˚ ° Just a notice, the OCs do have a name I, however, just referred to them in this post with their title to make them recognizable easily! Next time, I'll post a little short fanfic individually 😊
Four/Seamtress
I make you guess to which I took the seamstress inspiration
Four and Seamstress met when they were children. Seamstress' family travels around the land and sells their fabrics, outfits and products.
Edited: Four and Seamstress before the Minish Cap event.
Four went to relax in the field after he helped his grandpa at the work, not bothering to change his torned clothes.
Seamstress saw him decided to help him.
During this, she found that he is the grandson of a blacksmith while Four got to see Seamstress' parents works (from clothes to jewelry).
There on forth, Seamstress always looked after the boy with green tunic whenever they visit Hyrule Town.
During the FourSword Adventure, Seamstress got targeted by Shadow because she's close to Four (to which I won't go in details now because I'm going to write a fanfic of it)
one of my favourite. why? because I'm into elf/gnome trope, except seamstress is not a gnome but she's taller than Four and I adore the idea of them being lovey-dovey. Four not minding to be lifted up by Seamstress and Seamstress sitting to lean on Four whenever she's tired.
Wholesome, loud, very supportive of each other. Seamstress loves watching Four smithing (helps him when she can). And also want to impress him with her works like little plushies that kinda reminds of Four the picori.
Warrior/Inventor
I got inspired by the sheika from botw!
Also one of my favourite but for different reason.
Inventor is a son of biiiiscuit— you gonna hate him. He boast and is cocky. Arrogant mf and only love his inventions.
Warrior wonders why Cia didn't targeted this dude yet
Inventor have many projects but sadly is more ahead of time so, much to his dismay, he gotta step back a bit so the things he invents can be properly used—
He is actually passionate about his work and tends to overwork himself.
I can't write much about Inventor since he still in w.i.p. but kinda have some scenarios about him and Warrior
I kinda imagine their trope to be idiot rivals to idiot friend to idiots who won't admit they now fallen for each other and historians will say they were good friends(TM)
Wind &Explorer
Platonic Childhood Friends!
I got inspired by Mido but this one is less mean lol
I like the idea of them going in adventures and playing around their island
Explorer is the one who mostly leads Wind back then but Wind comes up with the crazy idea they do!
Is also protective of Aryll!
Explorer, Wind and Aryll stargaze together and Explorer likes to keep books and charts about the sea and sky.
Explorer never got interested at the old folks story about the hero ("Let that ancient dude's soul rest in peace, for Goddesses' sake!" —Explorer, probably).
Maybe he do a little but lil' lad just want to explore the sea
Still have faith in him though and yelled at the ocean, sky and horizon to be kind to Wind or he gonna fight them—
When Wind had to leave the island he was worried but he knows he couldn't stop him either. Aryll got taken and the idea of his friends leaving and never to return again filled made him sorrow.
Wind cheered him up by promising once he returns they gonna explore the sea together and teach him the ropes like once Explorer did to him
They spit swear!
Other ships that I have but don't have much yet
Twilight/Witch || Witch lives in the forest doing her daily witchy stuffs. Kinda imagine their dynamic to be shaky at first. Once they get to know each other, Witchy and Twilight would be a bit flirty to mess up each. At least try to. Because later they would just go with casual talk, wholesome and domestic dynamic. If one is at the home of another, they look like have lived together for years! Very lax and gremlincore aesthetic pair.
Wild/Historian || I've read somewhere that Wild is around 4"11 so I made Historian 4"6 lol. Came from family of historian who worked for the royal family. Historian is a bit shy but he looks up upon the champions, especially Wild. Pending whether to make Historian live in the past or present 💀
Legend/Bard || Their trope is that "Person A hates Person B's guts so they annoy B. But Person B thinks of Person A as a friend anyway". Don't have much yet but Bard came from a family of historian too who worked in the castle but preferred to travel the world. At time they visit Hyrule Castle, they and Fable have a cup of tea and tells story. May have invited Legend from time to time but some of them got turned down. Anyway, Legend and Bard have mutual respect to each other and has been on travel together when they bump to each other! They are very fluffy-angsty genre.
Hyrule/??? || I adore this dude but I can't help but to be totally unsure since I don't know a lot about him or his game. I'm doing more research
I don't have any for Sky and Time but if I have any it would be a platonic one ^^). For Sky, I was thinking about a mysterious person who resides in the land and raised by the kikwi dhsjdhqks
And for Time, a gerudo. He, Malon and the gerudo are a trio and have a platonic dynamic. Gerudo would protect this two with her life 😤😤
»»———-  ———-«
That's it! That's all! For now!
I have some images made from picrew but they kinda don't have whay I have in mind soooo... I guess I'll just draw them as the next post! I found a cool brush!

Let Dovah smooch her wife, dammit! 😭
-bonus- "Honey, I can just pick you up instead of you having to use the crate to kiss, you know this right?" Dovah blinked at Malon when she scoots the crate over with her boots. Malon huffs, "Oh, hush you, I rather you save yer strength for later."
"Yes ma'am," Dovah playfully saluted and chuckled.

Pinky Isn't Suffering - Chapter 9
ALMOST DONE!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
To say that you were able to have lunch with your future self and his wife was not in fact what Twilight was expecting from this adventure. Really anything in the adventure was not something he was expecting.
Yet here he was, red faced as an Older Pinky coo’s over how cute he is. He hoped Pinky was ok. This was very overwhelming. At least it would have been, if his brain could work.
“Is everything ok dear?” She asked, fully aware of what she was doing to him.
“Yes, perfectly ok.” Twilight was more or less attempting to convince himself of it. “It’s a lot to take in.”
Older PInky giggles and takes a bite of the snacks she’s prepared. “I understand, if it gives you any peace of mind. You didn’t push me to choose between my family and you.” She puts down the tea cup. “In fact, we have a way to get between the era’s and the worlds.”
“What?” Twilight lets that sink in. “What do you mean?”
Pinky looked surprised that he even asked, then took a moment to think about it. “Well, I’m not sure how. But apparently Sky got all of us… hand mirrors? That open a gateway to where you want to go.” She look outside to the farm she built up with her husband. “I’m happy that I get to be here and not be away from my family.”
Twilight visibility relaxes; it's been the one of the things that's been in his mind for a while. It was the main reason he hasn’t said anything to Pinky about his feelings even though she knew about them. He is aware that she feels the same. The proof also being right in front of him.
Older Pinky seems to know what exactly he was thinking, “you worry too much, my dear.” She said, leaning back in her chair. Pinky looks outside “I didn’t think I would be up for ranch life.” She looks back at him with a smile “But I love it here and I wouldn’t trade it for the world.”
“I’m glad to hear that.” Twilight looks down at his tea as he repeats what he said before. “Do the kids know?”
“Of my world? Yes, but they know not to say much about it.”
Speaking of the kids, the daughter and son barrel in.
“Mom! Mom! We finish our chores!” Jr. grinned grabbing on his mom’s skirt. Both him and Melody were covered in grass stains, dirt and cooco feathers.
Their mother smiles and ruffles their hair. “Good work today! Go washed up before eating lunch.” She said despite knowing they will just get dirty all over again.
“Race ya!” Melody dashed away, leaving Jr. gasping as he wasn’t ready for a race.
“Hey! No running in the house Mel!” Jr. said, also running in the house.
Older Pinky sighed and shook her head as her husband and Twilight’s Pinky came back. “What did we miss?”
“A race to the washroom.” Standing up, Older Pinky ushers the two to sit down. “Melody got a head start.”
“Is it just me or the more the Kids hang out with a certain Sailor the more rambunctious they get?” Older Twilight took his seat again next to his wife while Pinky went to her own Twilight.
The rest of the time spent in the future was the two time travelers getting caught up on what the others have been up to and what part of the adventure they were on. It was all strangely familiar and nice, for people that technically had just met, the conversation flowed better then how it started out as.
Soon as the sun began to set, Older Pink looked up at the clock, “you two should be sent back soon.” She said pretty disappointed.
“Geez, when did the time go?” Older Twilight said not believing it but he got up, “I’ll walk you two to the forest.”
“You both will go back to the moment you left your era.” Older Pinky adds on since that's pretty important info just so they don’t feel insane about it.
“Thank you for everything.” Pinky says as she and Twilight follow their motions getting up from the table. Pinky couldn’t help but take one more look around the small cozy house. There's a part of her heart that has already fallen in love with this family. Twilight, feeling that same warm and cuddly feeling, sneaks a hand on her lower back as he leads Pinky out with his older self.
Older Twilight gives his wife a kiss before leaving, “I’ll be back.”
“Be safe you three!” She calls out as they head out back into the forest.
It was the same path as the trio took before. Twilight was studying the area as best he could since he probably should remember it for later. “Don’t worry about remembering. I found you guys completely by accident.”
“Oh that sounds like fun.” Pinky was being sarcastic. “It would still be a good idea to remember this location.”
Older Twilight hums. “I mean it would be ok. It’s in the same place Hateno will be if my assumptions are correct.” That was some interesting information to just drop. Twilight had to hold his tongue as he knows that this is himself and anything, he knew he could can fire something back. “But just keep walking here and it will transfer you back to the surface.”
“Thank you Twilight, for everything.” Pinky smiles up at him.
Older Twilight couldn’t help but chuckle softly. “It’s no problem Darlin’ I just hope the both of you make it.” He says like he doesn’t already know how it will end up. He helps turn those two around and pushes them back towards the past. “Be safe!”
Twilight takes Pinky’s hand and waves goodbye to his older self.
Slowly, they made their way through the forest, things shifted and twist around them as they got back in time. Soon enough, they came to the makeshift gates of the surface settlement. Both Pinky and Twilight stood there for a second. Twilight looked at Pinky in the evening light. It somehow made her look prettier than normal. She looks up at him wide eyed, still processing everything.
The question was now… “What are we?”
I think the best part about this ask is - I've had this written since early January. I actually wrote part two as a birthday gift for a good friend of mine @glowyskull <33
So this is more just me finally posting it sfbgdfbgdb. it's also funny to think that the twilight fic is my most popular fic now considering how the self aware au really started as just a really guiltily self indulgent fic - something fun to write that I didn't think could get as big as it did on my blog. and I'm glad that you liked it so much <333 whimpery touch starved twilight princess link is just so AUGH love him so
“Oh you’re finally wakin up then darlin’.”
“...hmm?”
“C’mon darlin’, you can’t have forgotten what happened earlier already? Can you? Your fever - cold isn’t that bad so you can't have…”
Who’s rambling… and why does it sound so familiar?  Wait does that mean - is everything that happened earlier all real then, did link really crawl out of my tv just because he was lonely. Because I left him there, left him all on his own to rot in his own solitude.
“Link? You - that - everything was real then? All of it?”
“All of it darlin’, from how I got out to how I’m never gonna leave ya.”
“Huh..? I could’ve sworn that you didn’t even mention anything like that…”
“Mhm, well you’re ill and still a little out of it darlin’ so you probably just forgot, you did agree though.”
It does sound like something that I would agree to, I mean I’m the reason that he’s sentient. It would be cruel of me to throw him to the other wolves, he isn’t from here but besides even that, he isn’t from here. He doesn’t know how this world works, it would be worse than sending a dog to a shelter. It would be his death sentence for certain, and after all that I put him through for a simple pause in playing. The way he’s petting my hair like this though, it’s enough to simply just wash the rest of my worries away, if I could I would spend the rest of my life right here easily.
“About your illness though, do you have any red potion anywhere?”
“No, no things like that don’t exist here link and the painkillers I have aren’t worth moving for.”
“If you’re sure… I’ll go and get them for you the second you change your mind.”
“You don’t even know where I keep them.”
His hand paused at that, causing me to let out an involuntary whine. I couldn’t even think to stop it with how it slipped out instantly, which he seemed fond of. Cuddling me closer to his chest and resting his head on top of mine, with what felt like a giant smile on his face.
“I can look for them, It’s not like I won’t need to learn where everything is now that I’m living with ya… besides I’ve already put you through so much stress when you’re not well.”
“You didn’t mean to link, how could you have known I was sick?”
“...I don’t know - I just - it shouldn’t have been hard to know with how you looked when you opened the game. I’m sorry love I just wasn’t even thinking I just wanted to be out, but I should’ve been more considerate to you.”
With how silent he is in the game you could never have guessed how much he likes to ramble, it’s the second or third time it’s happened since he crawled out of the glas- the glass. Are his bandages holding up, he seems fine but he’s not from here, any infection could be deadly. He wouldn’t even see it coming with how much he’s fawning over my comfort right now.
“Link?” “Yes, darlin’?”
Oh wow, he - well he’s whipped already. Is it real love or has all that time trapped alone twisted him into this. I’d look into getting him therapy but… if he mentioned the truth then it would be a matter of seconds until he’d be diagnosed with something inaccurate. No one. No one at all would ever believe that a video game character actually broke out of their game - especially not someone like Link falling for an exhausted student like me.
“Are you feeling alright? You have so many cuts and wounds right now.”
“It’s nothing that’s worse than anything else I’ve ever had. They do feel more real though.”
“...real?”
“They feel like real wounds, not something that could be healed away in seconds and they’re just tiny scrapes.”He sounds so giddy as he’s talking about being hurt - it’s unnerving when he starts holding me even tighter when he’s saying it. I don’t think I’m ever going to be getting away from him ever again… if I wanted to. Why shouldn’t I take a chance at having a relationship though. He cares about me - he really does even if it’s unhinged - it would be so nice to come home to him, to be able to spoil him and be spoilt by him. Even being held like this feels so unreal, so impossible that I shouldn’t be here with him. So much so that I want to stay here and fall back asleep without any argument. Didn’t he even say he wanted to be my lover? Why look over a gift too closely?
Your dear double anon has returned
Anyway, I hope you had a good night's sleep and breakfast, because I'm back with more thoughts on LU I had this at 4am when I couldn't sleep (that's exactly why this sounds so far-fetched and mixed, perhaps a little meaningless(?)
I've been thinking a lot about Villain Chain lately, you know, by cloudninetonine. Also in humans are hylian space orc reader but that comes later and thinking a lot about cloudninetonine basically since I reread his/her mess au.
This is all set in mess au, in fact.
So far I have only found three writings that involve them and I have not found any more, which is a shame, because I'm interested in the concept of when a hero is a villain and a villain is a hero, I've always been a fan of role reversals in any context.
And one of the writings I read was about how they became like this when their guide/Reader/player died and they made a huge statue for them as a tomb and they see the guide/Reader/player from the original chain and kidnap them to maintain it and so on (this no has minimal relevance, I just woke up very talkative, although I'm sure I sent you messages yesterday)
Yeah, wrong, but I've kept them in mind because, remember the yandere version of cloudninetonine's chain? Where they're older and guide/reader/player isn't really their guide/reader/player but they think it is? Well, here I came up with an interesting continuation.
guide/reader/player is not really the guide from the original chain either.
Whether it's Dark Link or Villain Chain, they corner the reader and are like 'aha! You have no escape, little guide' and with a blank expression guide simply (when the adrenaline and fear have passed), grabs the blade of the sword that is pointing at their neck and bends it.
Here is the first clue that something is wrong, if it is Dark Link, whether by this action or not, he realizes that there is something wrong with the guide, it is not as he remembers it. If it is Villain Chain, there is bewilderment because the guide who described that shadow that plans to betray them did not resemble the guide they had before them who was not affected by magic, potions or weapons.
is not the guide that Dark Link remembers or that he described to Villain Chain because it turns out that is not the guide either, Reader is a guide but not of that specific chain.
Either because Hylia was confused or she searched for a stronger guide/Reader to stop Dark Link she simply looked for a Reader/Guide who she felt had even a modicum of power over the Hylians and found Guide/Reader from Human are Hylians Space Orc.
But that's where my train of thought ends.
Looking back after getting a proper night's sleep and reading this out loud, I feel like this was so far-fetched but my tired, sleep-deprived brain couldn't figure it out in time.I'm not particularly satisfied with these ideas, but perhaps I'll salvage something for the future.
Or maybe I'm thinking of ideas for a Villain Guide/Reader/player getting to know everyone, seeing as how no one has really done anything like this and some players can be evil in video games.
—double anon (since you already know my problem with Tumblr and the fact that I have to send at least two messages for one to arrive, I wasn't sure if I should give myself a name because my attention span It's null and void and I bounce from fandom to fandom every week. and I disappear the moment I decide to give myself a anon name, but I've been paying attention to Linked Universe for over a month, and I think that's reason enough to know that I won't disappear anytime soon, although I have your Tumblr profile saved in my Google bookmarks anyway so I'll still come visit even if it disappears)
This is a doozy. (Quite the long one, tad overwhelming. 😅) I’m not that familiar with villain chain? Let’s see what I can do with what I can figure out.
One thing I realized is that When Reader sees how the Villain Chain practically worships them, they’re baffled.
To this Reader, adventure games are meant to be just that, games.
The idea that she’d be revered as an actual deity is unsettling, and she’s torn between keeping up the act to protect herself or leveling with them. If she lets on that she isn’t their Guide, the Chain only becomes more obsessed, deciding she needs saving from whatever memories she’s ‘lost.’
And if she realized the Chain has suffered from the loss of THEIR Guide, Reader tries to gently reason with them, perhaps offering compassion?
Big mistake sadly. The moment they show even a hint of softness, the Chain decides Reader has truly “returned” to them. They double down on their devotion, misinterpreting kindness as affection, and it fuels their possessiveness.
To jog ‘memories,’ the Villain Chain might recreate locations or scenes from the past with the old Guide.
They could go to absurd lengths ya know, clearing whole areas, painting fake backdrops, even dressing up in the same worn, ragged clothes they had when they met the Guide. Reader plays along, but she’s constantly trying to figure out an escape plan, as she now knows nothing she says or does will convince them she’s not their Guide.
The Chain takes turns watching Reader, monitoring her behavior for signs that she’s “returning” to them. This means Reader can hardly go anywhere without someone at her side or in the shadows. Even a sigh or a glance could be analyzed endlessly.
Twilight would try to remind Reader of the old days by isolating her in forests or mountainous regions, telling tales of their past escapades.
He thinks being in these familiar places will awaken her ‘true self.’ But when this doesn’t work, he only becomes more frustrated, insisting that Reader must remember and that her real memories are just buried.
Hyrule would repeatedly try to heal Reader, convinced they’re suffering from some curse.
Every time Reader resists or tells him to stop, he assumes it’s the curse talking and only becomes more insistent, going as far as sneaking healing spells while she’s asleep or distracted.
LINK has always been rather thin. That was especially the case when he was a child. Something about a Kokiri child's diet not fitting what a Hylian needed always kept him frail.
When you both were children, he had quickly gotten used to you plucking his arm when it was idle to compare his lack of fat to your surplus.
(He never minded. He always looked forward to being reminded why he put one foot in front of the other every day during his fight against Ganon, or repeated cycle after cycle when it came to Majora.)
(Funnily enough, you had always made fun of him for being shorter than you as a child as well. You always mentioned he needed to drink more milk and eat more cuccos so he'd one day pass you.)
It was when you were able to cook more than simple meals and wouldn't risk burning down your cottage that you would invite (force) Link over more often than you already have.
Link had always tried to limit his visits to when he absolutely needed to. Free food, bed, shelter, care, supplies, clothes, bathes (the list was endless), and whatnot were always appreciated, but he never wanted to become to comfortable lest he wake up one day (or night. Or afternoon. His internal clock was always ruined when it came to sleeping at your cabin) and decide not return to the world outside.
He does his best to turn down any seconds, or thirds, or fourths, or fifths, and so on you may offer him when he does stay long enough for you to finish whatever extravagant meal you made just for him.
Past experiences often make him sick (with trauma or physically) and result in him vomiting his food, but there's always more from you to replace what he had just eaten and the meal before (if he remembered to eat it).
What he can't finish at the table (or on the sofa, or in the bed), he takes with him when he leaves. Link is respectful in all meanings of the word and hates to leave anything to waste.
When it comes to thanks, he either finds ways to help around your cottage or brings back items from new regions for you to cook. Whether it be repairing the busted bathroom door you've been complaining about before fixing your water faucet so the pressure is what you want it to be, or bringing back a spice the Gorons specialize in you've mentioned wanting to try, Link typically feels his gifts fall lackluster when compared to your treatment of him.
(He trusts your skill and creativity enough to know you won't poison him on accident. He never brings back any recipes or instructions either if it's not a dangerous material.)
(He's always excited to try whatever new dish you've concocted, so his only condition is that you wait for his return to cook whatever it is he brought you. "A celebration, of sorts," he calls it.)
A look in a lone puddle had told him his cheeks had gotten fatter. He supposes he now understands why he was refused entry into one of the pubs when he had to retrieve Malon and Cremia's uncle.
He had noticed that the details of his arms were less visible through his shirts when a Goron had pinched one,— not in the same way you did when you were younger— he had mentioned that he had an amount of muscle and fat to be proud of before asking him to join a tournament. Any attempts prior to were quickly shut down.
During a day of horseback archery with the Gerudo, the sweltering sun had gotten to him enough that he had to remove his tunic and the shirt underneath to feel some sort of relief. One of the women who were training him took a look at his stomach and nodded approvingly, mentioning that he should praise his soon-to-be spouse for feeding him so well.
The last nail in the coffin came when he was riding Epona into Castle Town. His tunic felt uncomfortably small and his tights (curse those damned tights) felt as thought they were stretched more across the expanse of his thighs than they usually were.
He's back in your cottage when he finally vocalizes his thoughts, preferring you to any other tailor or seamstress in the country. "I've gotten to big for my clothes," he either sighs or signs to you while eating. His gaze held a thousand yards in them, idly watching his clothes move with the wind.
The tunic, hat, tights, boots hang outside the window on a string connected to your shed. They had to be washed after a (admittedly well-planned— even if they don't think) ambush by a hoard of chu-chus.
You throw a hazy look to them before returning to the bowl you were tirelessly mixing. You were making dinner, he thinks, or maybe it was in preparation for the big breakfast you were making with the variety of bread from the Gerudo he brought back.
You'd already given him a large snack earlier.
The thought makes him look down at the plate in his lap. Every spot of it was filled and piled with bread, and eggs, and meats, and jams. He couldn't see the white bottom of it even as he pushed and prodded around.
He takes a bite of it gratefully.
"I saw you before you left not even three days ago. You fit everything fine enough to me." At some point you had stopped stirring and held the bowl out to him. Link grabs something off the plate and dips it in without a thought, eating it before responding with a hum of approval. "I can make adjustments to then, if you'd like."
You leave the bowl with him before attending to something on the stove.
"Please," he responds, halfway through another bite of the (what he now recognized as) Gerudo bread and cocoa dip you had made. "Different pants would be nice, though. It'd be a nice excuse to finally get rid of those tights." Both tasted sweet by themselves, he realized, but left a calmer aftertaste that he'd like to savor.
"You've always hated the tights," you hum in response, moving from the stove to the coolers that he'd built you after bringing you a large fish that only lived in Zora's Domain. "What would you want to move on to now? Leggings? Shorts?"
Link watches you remove a pitcher from one of the coolers. He isn't sure how long it's been in there (he doesn't even remember watching you make it), but he assumes you took some ice out so the pink liquid wouldn't freeze over into complete ice.
He watches you try to take a cup from one of the cupboards, watching you struggle to grab his favorite one from the higher shelves.
He stands from the chair sat just outside the kitchen (he liked to watch you cook when you had the time), placing the bowl and plate on one of the many cleared counters (you liked to clean as you worked), and grabs the cup for you.
Link lowers his head with his hand when he hands the cup off, head resting upon the crown of yours as he watches you pour the pink liquid into it, idle arms wrapping around your waist as he makes some slick comment about eating enough milk and cuccos for your liking.
You don't elbow him in the stomach like you might have when you were younger and he doesn't hold the cup above your head teasingly like when he was younger to (— then again, he had to climb a counter to get it out of your reach.)
Instead, you wordlessly pass the cup back to him and he wordlessly drinks it despite not knowing what it was.
He likes it, as he does all your works, and notes how it was both sweet and sour. A taste that fills both his childhood need for sweet all the time and his older palate's need for other tastes.
Handing the cup back, Link tilts his head so he can press a kiss to your crown. "Anything you'd think I'd look good in," he finally responds, the flavor of the moment leaving a tooth-achingly sweet taste on his tongue.
ARAM is often humbled in your abode.
He may have acted arrogant to others in his younger years and horrifyingly aloof now that he's a more seasoned god, but he never failed to (willingly) crumble to his knees when in your presence during either times of his life.
He had no need for the sustenance mortals require, prayers and whispers of his name were always good enough for him, but he'd kiss the ground you walk on if it meant you'd bless him with another food you've created (he already does).
Aram is the provider to your fire-lit home, an arrangement the two have been living by for as long as he can remember.
He is the sword to your shield. The arrow to your quiver. The moon to ever burning sun (which he did create for you, after all). The wound for your gauze. The life to your world— and one cannot live peacefully without the other.
Your food had quickly become an addiction to Aram. He'd eat as much as often as he could, giving little response to when questioned why he loves it so much.
("Because it comes from your hands," he once explained hours later when you were sleeping. "Your hands, that create all. That nourish all it touches and replenishes all that is extinct. I am your antithesis, and I must destroy that which I love."
(You never had the heart to ask again.)
He has enough sense to slow his eating around you. One concerned comment about him choking was enough for him to indulge in needless your wishes, but a question regarding its taste had him eating like a mortal.
His relationship with food prior to getting hooked onto yours was brief and filled with obligation. He never ate to feel full, only to make the people he was fighting with shut up and leave him out of whatever conversation they were having.
It never lingered in his stomach like a warm fireplace that others had described it as. It never made him warm and filled with love. It never gave him the energy he needed to keep fighting.
It just went through his digestive tract (why did he even have one?) and disappeared like an heavy smog finally dispersed by a strong gust of wind before he had to fight again.
When a war was over, you always came. You took the battle-shaken soldiers away when it was their time and healed their ailments if they were able to withstand everything. You went through war-stricken cities and set everything as they should have been. You feed and clothe and bandage and sew and reunite and Aram isn't sure why he lingered.
He's seen the effects of what you can do long after you've left. He knows of the good you're capable of doing just as much as he knows the bad he can cause.
He craves your touch when he sees it at its peak. He indulges himself when he sees it first-hand.
Aram understands what the soldiers mean when you beckon him closer and offer him food, uncaring of how he stands tall above all else.
The soup warms his insides. The flavor resides on his tongue hours after he's finished it. His energy, though far from depleted, had made him feel as though he were a youngling again.
He craves more.
The addiction to your presence and your food (and subsequently, you) had started then. It's an event he could easily recall when asked, one he would happily recount to you if you ever forgot where his devotion to you started.
Meeting after a war or battle had become frequent enough that he had finally learned your name; not some silly alias those who followed you often referred to you as. He felt like one of those lovesick children soldiers talk about, tripping over himself and his words.
He's curious to you, an admirer more than a stalker, fortunately. When he wasn't on the battlefront, he was always hovering around as you worked, busying his hands with whatever task you've given him after noticing his lack of mortality.
You treated him well; doing so even after the era of wars were long gone and he was seldom needed. You cared for him as though he were one of the many wounded soldiers with no family to return to once all was done and said— and to an extent, he was.
He's eating when you bring attention to his softer thigh.
You were reading to him, a romantic thriller that held as much of his attention that your captivating voice did. His gaze focused heavily on you, watching as you lick your lips after each page, how your eyes rake over the page to ensure the tone you speak the next sentence in is correct. He notes how you shift less often, how he doesn't have to move you further up his lap so you can lean against his stomach.
"It's not as painful to sit on you anymore." Aram doesn't think that line was in the book, but he doesn't mention it. It dawns that you were talking to him when you look up, using your finger as a bookmark as you closed the book around it. "Have you gained weight?"
He's a big man; it's a fact he's known since the beginning of his existence. He has large arms, muscles well know for how he snatched prey up to bring back to you. His height made it a simple feat to reach into the trees and capture any avian you wanted to experiment with that night. His legs that would stomp on any fish swimming downstream during a day at the lake you suggested.
He was sculpted by the Goddesses themselves. If they hadn't meant for his body to change along with his lifestyle, they wouldn't have designed him to dough.
(He'd never be ashamed in the fact either. He was contented knowing he had someone to dote over him constantly; a sentiment he had gained after recalling a conversation with wedded soldiers.)
(Also, the prospect of defacing what the Goddesses had long since disgraced was exciting, in a way.)
Aram doesn't look at himself, already well-acquainted with his body as his brow raises in amusement. "You feed me well, My Grace," he responds with a peck on your temple, "I would hope to become more comfortable for your pleasure." He refused to stop eating as he indulged you in conversation, the leg you sat on jumping once in place of his busy hands.
You hum that sweet, quiet hum of yours that Aram has come to associate with your contentedness (he aimed to hear to several tomes every day). Removing yourself from his lap, discarding the novel to the side as you raise your hands to cup his cheeks. "It suits you. You look healthy. Happy."
"Did I look ill before?"
You don't fluster as you might have like in your younger years. He's honored to have grown alongside you, reminiscent of the older couples you've both watched and escorted when he was still an active god.
The same filling feeling your food gives him fills his heart. The lingering sense of peace that he felt since meeting you dancing through his body when your thumbs rub the apples of his cheeks, the softest and fondest gaze anyone's ever given him in your eyes.
"No," you answer in a quiet voice only he'd be able to hear. "Never. You've always looked perfect."
And Aram has never been more thankful that he separated himself from the Goddesses as he preens under your touch. Never been more thankful that he lingered after the war was done. Never been more thankful that he had readjusted his psyche to more readily accept your gifts and affection.
He frees a hand to cradle to back of your head, a threat to all that aren't you, and brings you beneath his chin in a protective gesture. "As have you," he murmurs, pressing a kiss to the crown of your head. "And as you always will be."
Chapter 12: Pasts Reawakened
Wind smiled and pulled Enno out of the store as fast as he could just in case.  "That guy likes to over sell the flowers all the time. The build-your-own-bouquet doesn't have set prices since they sell by the ounce. He likes to over charge and get as many people on those as he can. That being said, if it was  another person, I would have let you go for it. Those you can enchant and get the flowers to glow in the dark or repeat messages and stuff. There's a lot more but I remember those the most."
"Figured much. I recognized that tactic." They started swinging their hands together. "Either way, thank you for having my back, Sailor." It's a nice time overall now. "Wanna go back and finish training with Twi and Sky? I probably should be in the room when the chest arrives."
Wind gladly swung their hands back and forth with exaggerated movements. "Hmm... Maybe? That sounds like a good idea for you. Warrior should still be working. He said he wouldn't finish until some time around dinner time. Apparently it was worse than he thought."
Enno hummed in agreement. They needed to also talk to Warrior about what the doctor said. After he finishes, of course. "Ok! Then let's go back."
"Alright." Wind loses himself to his thoughts and absentmindedly leads Enno through Castle Town and back to the castle. They both ended up back in the garden where Twilight and Sky were now fighting against Wild and Legend. This group smelled bad.
Wind's frowns and makes a face. "You all should shower."
Wild grins. "Wind! Your turn! Let's go! You and me!"
Enno gave Wind a push. "Have fun, don't push yourself too hard."
They waved the others goodbye and headed up to the room. They wanted to beat the furniture people but also get there with enough time to annoy Warrior. Both are equally important.
Wind grinned and waved them off as well. By the time Enno reached Warrior's room they could hear a minor commotion on the inside.
They closed their eyes, sighing for a moment before knocking on the door and opening it "I'm baaaack!"
"Enno!" Warrior calls out gleefully. "You're just in time! I forgot you wanted to go shopping. The guys here are just setting it up."
He walked over to them and kissed their forehead. "Did you have fun?"
"Mhm. Here, we got these for you since you've been holed up in your room." Enno gave him the flowers and peaked behind him to see the movers putting the ottoman down. "I was hoping to beat them here just in case you still were working."
Warrior looked taken aback by the gift. He hesitated to take them.
"Oh.... thank you..." Warrior gets a bit choked up and teary eyed. "They're beautiful."
He laughed a bit and nervously scratched behind his neck. "My favorite. …Umm... The desk and vanity should be done soon as well. They had to take it apart and reassemble the both of them for easier travel. Good colors, sturdy wood. You picked well."
“It’s not really a custom where I come from but I like the idea of getting your partner flowers occasionally.” Enno was too busy trying to explain the flower before they registered what else Warrior had said. They blinked at him, confused. “But I only bought-….”
Enno remembered then, that they left Wind loose in the store. “That sneaky little-” They laughed out loud, not mad at all. They smiled. “Wind went to look at other things. I didn’t expect that he would buy things.”
"Oh Wind did that-?" He snorts and covers his mouth with one hand, holding the flowers in the other. "I guess he really wants you to stay."
Warrior softened and turned to go back to his desk. "So do I to be honest."
He placed the flowers on his desk, moving some papers around so that he'd have the room. "Daffodils....." He mumbles. "Mom, you would have loved these."
Enno paused for a moment, seeing the workers out and paying them if they weren’t already. Once they closed the door, I turned back around. “It’s funny. When Wind suggested Daffodils, I thought about how me and my dad would look after the wild ones we had growing in the yard.”
They came over to hug him from behind. “I was happy to find something with Tulips since we always made a day out of picking the bulb and planting them. Seems like we have a little more in common than we thought.”
Warrior gets a bit choked up again. His hands rest on theirs.
"My mother had a patch of daffodils next to our house before.... It was her pride and joy. We didn't really have much compared to other families but she took good care of it. My sister actually has tulips by her house. She lives with our grandmother. Daffodils... were my mothers favorite flower and I'm inclined to agree with her."
Warrior turned and hugged them properly. "No one has gotten me flowers before. Thank you."
He kissed their hair.
“I noticed your attempts with dragon courting so I wanted to do my own thing.” Enno held him, purring in an attempt to comfort him a bit. “I am happy that they mean a lot to you.”
They swayed a bit, trying to not make him cry. “You.. mention your mother a lot. I won't ask about what happened and will wait until you tell me, but I want you to know that I’m here for you if you need a moment to let your emotions out. It's ok to cry no matter how long it's been.”
Warrior's breath hitched and he held them tighter, tensing up. He laughed a bit. "I love you."
Something wet landed on their shoulder. "I still miss them. It was my fault."
He took a deep breath. Enno was inclined to think that he wiped his eyes from where they couldn’t see it. "You're incredible and amazing and sweet and I'm so... happy that I met you... that you like me back."
He giggled and swayed with them some more, peppering their head with kisses. "You're so important to me."
They wanted to argue that it wasn’t his fault, no matter what happened but they didn’t want to pry further. “It’s bad to hold in things, but I know that it's hard to open up to someone.”
They spun him around so he could sit in his chair. They sat on his lap, making it easier for themselves to hold him. “Your amazing, you know? I don’t think you realize that. Not everyone has the balls to run out into battle without thinking. You also make Wind really happy now that he can call you Dad more freely. There’s so much you do even with the other boys. You take care of them all.”
Warrior choked on his spit when Enno had just placed themselves onto his lap. A blush bloomed across his face and he struggled to maintain eye contact.
"A part of me wants to argue with that, but you won't hear it, will you?" He softened and gently placed his head on their shoulder. "I know you’re right... I just wish...." Warrior takes a breath. "I never got to grieve."
His arms came up to hold them and he pulled them in close. "What's your family like? You mentioned your father and you planting the flowers."
Enno didn’t respond right away. “Well… it’s just my dad, my sibling and my mom.My family has been pretty chaotic.” They said simply as this wasn’t a conversation yhey really wanted to talk about freely. “It was always fun to have my sibling around in middle school as I was pretty stupid in my choices.”
Enno looked away so they could look out the window. “Anyway, right now it's calmer. My dad and sibling and I  are all still close-ish. He would tease the hell out of you as My dad would just be shocked to see me socializing.”
"Hm..." Warrior began to rub their back and purred. "I'm sorry it wasn't as peaceful as it should have been. Our fathers might have gotten along.. My sister is still around. She doesn't remember much, but I bet she'd love to meet you.....But what's a middle school... or a high school?"
“It’s basically how we do our education. I was like… 14? When I started middle school? My memory is pretty bad from back then. High school is like 16 - 18 years old. I would love to meet your sister. A warning if you meet my dad. He tends to talk a lot. Get him going and he can keep up a one sided conversation, big technology guy.” They purred with him as they pulled back, calming themselves down in the process.
"That's alright." Warrior laughed some more, easier and lighter this time. "Sounds like my sister. If they're anything alike then I'm sure we'll get along just fine."
He hummed a bit and started to play with their hair. "You never told me how your check up went. I want full details."
“Ah…. Right so… basically what I have is called Chronic Magicailial syndrome? From what I can tell, the gland I have that stores the magic, loses magic too much before I can produce more to replenish. There is apparently a low risk surgery I can get but I didn’t really want to make a decision just yet. The doctor also wants to see us tomorrow in the morning, and by us I mean me. I just need to bring someone along.”
Warrior nods. "I thought so... I know a guy. He had a similar thing. More mild though. I... don't know what to say about the surgery to be honest. That gland plays a role in dragon flight but I don't currently remember what it does exactly." He sighed and leaned against the chair. "What time tomorrow?"
“Ahahahaha- I aammm terrified of heights.” Enno laughed awkwardly. “Honestly, she just told me to arrive before sun down since it takes 18 hours after the collection to get the results. Going in the morning is probably the best bet since we do leave tomorrow. I was actually thinking about getting surgery later if we come back here.”
Warrior nodded. "Well whatever you decide. I don't know what we'd have to do for a surgery if you choose it. You have to set a date for those and we might not be here for that."
He tries to think for a moment. "Did they give you any other options to deal with it? Or is it the only thing to fix it?"
“I have to take magic potions, I believe on a schedule. They took that sample to see what type I am before deciding on the said schedule.” Enno laid their head back down on his shoulder, giving a few kisses to his neck. “After getting that, I would want to tell the others about my other condition. That's what I normally do just in case.”
"That would be a good idea." Warrior admits. "In that case, we should stock up before we leave on potions. Hyrule would need a few but I'd like to know if your going to be ok until we can make it to the next town or city."
Warrior arches his neck to give them better access to his neck. "Did you have anything planned today? It sounds like all there is left to do it wait."
“Nope, I did everything I wanted to do today.” Enno continued their venture lazily since they didn’t want to move their head too much. “I was hoping you’d let me spend the rest of the day with you while you work. I can start moving your horde into the ottoman if you want.”
Warrior purrs louder. "I'd love that. It might get a bit boring here though."
He ran his jaw against their shoulder. Enno felt a surge of his scent waft into their nose in the process. "Where's Wind by the way? You leave him all by his lonesome?"
They buried their face into his shoulder, purring up a storm. They were very happy right now. “He is with Twi, Sky, Wild and I think Legend? They were all still practicing in the garden.” With more energy, they give him more affection, “I just want to spend a little more alone time with you before we hit the road.”
Warrior purrs at their tempo in response. Satisfaction was radiating off of him. "I'd like that."
He took a deep breath. "I'm not done though..."
He made no moves to get back to work.
Enno doesn’t move either.
“How much do you have to do?” They asked, starting to kiss his jaw and face. “I can wait until you're done. It's not that much to put away.”
Warrior took a deeper breath, relaxing under their touch as they spoke. "I have at least five more pages to write. I'm almost done but there have been times in the past where I’ve miscalculated. I assumed I'd be done by dinner time but with lunch up and gone, I don't know how much I actually left to do."
Underestimating how much they missed him, Enno didn’t let up on the attacks of affection. They rubbed their wrists and hands up into his hair, getting their scent on him in a possessive claim. “How about you check to see how much longer it will take and I will get started on getting all the horde together in one place? Then we can take a break for dinner and see what to do from there.”
He growled before it fell into a purr and rubbed more of his jaw against them before pulling away. "Alright...ok... That sounds like a decent plan."
They finally noticed the scent coming from his jaw. "Is this your scent gland?" I asked, tipping his head up, giving his jaw a few extra kisses. "Anyway, time for work, Soldier Boy."
Enno moved to get up.
A deep and low growl ripped through Warrior before he could stop. He didn't look upset....more like- "That's a sensitive spot, Sweetheart."
His face was red and his features were soft. "You are a tease."
Enno could see him fighting the grin from his face. He's losing.
They cupped his face in response. "What are you going to do about it?"
They used their thumb to give his jaw a soft rub. "Ok, I think it's time for work for real now." They let go and officially got up. "We can continue that later."
"I'll look forward to it." Warrior's gaze turned heavy before he forced himself around and back into his work.
Enno heard him take in a long breath before he fell silent.
Enno started to put the other dragons' (the noble dragon that Time had all but ripped to shreds) stuff away, since it was less meaningful than the other things. It then came to their realization that Warrior didn't know that they knew where his horde actually was.
Warrior filled the silence with gentle scratches against the paper as well as the occasional flip.
After an hour or so he sighed and stretched. He looks back at them and smiles. He turned back to his work and finished up the document relatively quickly all things considered.
The organizing was all that bad honestly since they put everything in piles earlier. Enno got rid of the gold pile first and moved over the extras. They weren’t paying attention to what Warrior was doing in the meantime.
Warrior finished the document at last and put all of his papers in order. He shoved them in a folder before he stood, popping his back as he went.
"I'll be right back Sweetheart. I have to turn this in."
"Mhm, when you come back I need you to show me where your actual horde is. I don't want to move it without you here." Enno looked up from where they were. "Also be safe."
Warrior paused by the door and he turned to look at them. They could feel him physically hesitate before he spoke.  "It's the top and bottom two drawers of my dresser. It's not much. There should be space."
He opened the door. "I'll be back."
Enno waited until he left before continuing their organizing again. Like they told him, they weren't going to touch what he already had in there until he was there to oversee it. Not their sentimental stuff though. Why bother moving it? They do know now, however, where the horde is.They would be able to protect it, just in case.
Moments passed and suddenly, without warning someone tried to open the door.
It doesn't work.
Like it's been locked.
Enno could hear a muffled sound from the other side before the person on the other side tried to open it more forcefully.
They weren’t successful.
Enno let out a sigh and shut the ottoman loudly at the first sign of people. Annoyed, they shout. “Links not here at the moment, have some patience please before almost hitting someone with the door."
Enno opened the door before they had the chance to attempt to force the door open again. They nearly collided with each other.
"Oh my goodness, that boy!" Zelda sighed and cursed.
Very unlady-like.
"Would you be so kind as to tell me where he is?" She said afterwards. "I have an urgent matter to discuss with him. Is he in his office? He hates the place but I must find him."
Enno struggled to hold back their amusement at the princess.
“Link said that he went to file the documents he just finished so I can only assume yes. Is this something I should worry about or-?…” They asked, wondering if they should be concerned or not. It seemed like something was always happening in this castle.
Zelda sighed and rubbed circles into her temple. "Im.... not at liberty to say. But... You're his lover, yes? Im aware this little group of yours leaves soon enough bit please be careful. Cia is nearly fully healed and she's still intent on running rampant through my castle."
She turned and bowed a bit. "Well, I'll have to track him down I suppose." She paused before she left. "....He means a lot to us.... Please look after him."
And then she walked away.
Enno once again closed the door and relocked it, sighing. Already knowing that they had to finish up fast before Cia gets out, they wished that there was a way for them to contact Pinky throughout all of this but they didn't think their phones would work since there was no wifi or cell service. It had been days since they had talked decently and there were clearly some very important things happening where neither of them could see each other. They went back to putting things away, knowing full well that Warrior wasn’t coming back anytime soon.
There was a smaller knock on the door and it opened easily. "Moma? Are you in here?"
Wind walked in hesitantly. "Dad?"
"I'm here, Sweetheart." Enno called from their spot on the floor. "Are you done sparring?" They asked, dropping the rest of the gems in the ottoman before patting the floor next to them for Wind to sit. "Did you take a shower yet?"
Wind jogged over and sat down. "Nope!" He grinned. "I had fun though. I got to throw Wild around."
"That- sounds fun." Enno continued to put the treasure into the ottoman once Wind was situated. "I see you bought more furniture while we were at the store. You are a sneaky little pirate."
Wind grinned and laughed. "Now you have stuff for you!"
He rocked back and forth subtly. "I didn't think you'd want to mess with Warriors stuff even if he would be ok with it. So you get your own space."
Enno teared up  but looked away, trying to not let Wind see their emotional state. They hugged him. “Thank you, Wind. That means a lot more than you think.” They let go quickly. “But you need a bath. Go wash up, mister.”
Wind groans. "I don't stink that bad."
"Yes you do." Warrior snorted, startling the both of them. "Did you have fun?"
"Yup!" Wind grinned and stood up to greet him.
"Good." Warrior ruffled his hair. "Take a shower."
Wind pouts. "Fine."
“Oh- Hello sir.” Enno looked up at him, smiling. “Zelda was looking for you. Did she find you? Also, I didn’t move your horde yet, I wanted you to take care of it since it’s sentimental.”
Warrior's smile was wiped off. "She was-?.... oops... Well Lana found me. And uhh..." He waited for Wind to get in the bathroom before he took his spot next to you. "Cia is expected to make a full recovery... yay.... and also, she's threatening homicide. So that's fun."
He sighed and looked at Enno pensively. "....I... don't want to make your life difficult. If..." He took in a struggling breath and lowered his voice. "I want to think about this... us... I would have you by my side in a heartbeat but it seems unfair to you to deal with all of this."
“Not the first time my life was threatened.” Enno put their head on his shoulder. “Nor is it the first place I’ll live in where someone threatened me so it's fine. Honestly I don’t think you realized this but I’m not leaving your side. Yeah, there's Cia, but honestly I’m not scared of her like… someone else… If anything I  find her sad because I know she wasn’t always like that. I’m afraid you need to break my heart to the point of it being unusable to get rid of me.”
Warrior tenseed and wrapped his arms around them tightly. "Hmmm... alright. I'll have to take your word for it."
He nuzzled them closely with his head and sighed. "It just feels selfish on my part. I can't give you the life I'd want to.... not with Cia in the picture, I'm afraid." He kissed the top of their head. "I wouldn't ever give a reason for your heart to break.... I just didn't want my baggage to push you away. Emotional or otherwise."
“Honestly, there have been moments where I’ve been tempted to flat out ask you to mark me. I don’t think your baggage is an issue at all.” They hugged him back, purring. “We both need help and a bit of tender love and care. But that's ok. We can take it one day at a time. Cia will have to get used to it.”
Warrior started to purr at their first sentence alone. "That's.... quite the declaration, my dear.... That's virtually the human equivalent of marriage."
LU Wild x Reader Part 3: Sharing stories
Tumblr media
Okay, I forgot how long this piece was but I'll be slowly putting it up every week. Part three yayyy we get to meet Malon hehe! Sorry its a bit short, I actually need to edit some parts so there's extra work to do but here we goooo
Start here!
Malon and Link’s house is adorable, it’s the cutest little place tucked away in a farm, looking over the forest and rest of castle town. Just stepping underneath the expanse of the blue sky makes me want to live here.
“Oh my gosh! I’m so jealous of your house!” I can’t contain my excitement, wrapping my hands together. A few moments later the door opens, and a beautiful woman steps out, Time is smiling, I don’t think I’ve ever seen him this happy. She reaches her arms around him, both melting into each other. I can’t help admiring them, tilting my head at the endearing look they share. My gaze falls towards Wild for a moment, raising a slight brow in mockery and nudges my arm.
“I can’t lie, their adorable.” I say, echoing the sentiment everyone else is probably feeling. Most of us are staring in pure admiration, watching them pull away. Time places a soft kiss against Malon's head.
“It feels like forever,” she says, letting go then stares at the rest of us, a hand against her hip before landing her eyes on me.
“Oh! I you must be y/n," Link wrote about you so much to me, come in the rest of you.” I look towards Link, finally this time the old man actually smiles at me, to my relief. I almost let out an audible sigh.
“Told you he was fine.” Wild whispered. I roll my eyes, continuing inside as they lead us into their home. It’s so cozy, and there’s already a whole table full of food set up for us. For a long moment we just let them be, sitting around as we all hungrily stare at the plates. Neither of us reaching for food, striving to be polite. Wild pouts, and Legend reaches his hand out before Sky swats his arm.
“Not yet! Can’t you just be a little patient?” it all makes us laugh, but then my stomach cramps. Hungrily.
“Oh! You guys can all eat, what are you waiting for? We’ll be there in a moment.” Her eyes are still on Time’s, it’s almost like he’s forgotten the rest of us exist. I can’t blame him really, but I still keep looking towards them.
Perfect, their so perfect together.
Again I catch Wild glancing towards me, a smirk growing on his face until I snap out of it, realising their all looking at me. A blush spreads across my face, embarrassed.
“What’s up with you? Daydreaming about having a life like that?” I kick Wild’s leg, a few others noticing, like Twilight.
“Ew, no? what on earth.” I stutter, not coming out the way I intended at all.
“Isn’t it what everyone wants? It’s cool to explore the world but at the end of the day something like this is peaceful…well having someone.” Sky says, hand against his cheek. I keep my face non chalant, but it’s true. And knowing I may not ever get it, really stings.
"that’s so lame. Legend rolls his eyes, but the others are quiet.
“It definitely warrants that, and who are you lying too? We know how much you miss-“ Sky gives Warriors a cautionary glance, softening his expression as Legend looks genuinely hurt. I’m still quiet, staring below at the floors.
For the rest of the evening Malon kindly asks us questions, about where we’re from. And me, which is a little hard to explain granted I sort of jumped through a well and ended up here.
“Do you think you’ll stay?” she poses the question casually, and everyone looks at me.
“Aha well…I don’t really know yet. It would be nice to stay, but then everyone else will have to go back home at some point, and I suppose my home isn’t really here.” The realisation hurts, and suddenly I don’t have a huge appetite anymore. Time looks at me sympathetically, and Wild also softens, knowing how I truly feel about Twilight right now. He may already have someone in mind anyway right? Best to keep expectations low.
“Whew! I’m kind of full, I think I’ll go for a walk. Would it be okay if I walk?” I push my plate forward, clearing my throat. The tension is making my face heat.
“Oh of course, just don’t wander too far. I’d hate for you to run into a monster at this time.” Time almost looks traumatised just as before, but Wild chips in once again.
“I can come!” I look at him, surprised, but suppose it would be good to talk. He’s really the only one I can sort of confide in right now.
“Sure.”
It’s cold, really cold around here that’s worse than the camp night. I’m shivering, pulling my sleeves while looking up at the moon, remembering that story Time told us about how it had almost fallen and crushed the entire world. It still feels like a silly fable, but then again this whole chance to be in Hyrule is pretty unbelievable.
“So that’s the moon in question? It looks friendly.” Wild says, staring up at while removing his cape, placing it over my shoulders. I freeze, holding onto the end then glance towards him, holding onto the fabric. It carries the scent of peppermint and wood, all the adventures he told us around the fire lingering in this fabric.
“What- aren’t you cold?” I say, letting my hand down. He puffs out his chest, albeit very much freezing and not doing a good job of hiding it.
“I’ve braved snow capped mountains in this tunic, this is nothing.” His teeth chatter, but I giggle.
“Alright, if you’re sure, hero. Also, the moon looks like cheese to me.”
“Cheese?”
“See the craters?”
“Well if I look too long I’m afraid it might start to resemble a face. Do you think the old man was serious about the moon falling?” I give him an incredulous look.
“Do I? at this point anything is possible for me.”
“Oh…right. I mean in my world it turned red. A very, aggressive and blood sort of red. Then at exactly midnight all the creatures and monsters I slayed came back to life." He narrates his story again, walking through the fields while I listen intently watching his eyes colour with intensity.
Once we're closer to the edge of a hill, We come to a stop, overlooking the town square, quiet at this time with a few fires flickering distantly. My stomach churns, the lingering realisation becoming more prominent each day that all this will fade. Wild stops talking, facing me.
“Wait sorry- I forgot about your world-“ he says quietly, "Tell me about it!" I'd been pushing away any thoughts about home, even though I'd come from there, part of me never felt like I'd belonged.
"Nothing too interesting to talk about, really." His expression fades, curiousity dimming. "Really? I thought you were a writer though, I'm sure you've got some stories to share." They weren't worth speaking about here, I'd told them about my journals, all the books I'd read but to tell them something from my life still felt like a raw wound. Stories were best shared as scars, but mine hadn't quite healed yet.
"Umm, I don't really want to, sorry." I mumble, but he smiles again.
"Oh well, but I'm going to hold you to it. You owe me!"
Pinky Isn't Suffering - Finale
It was a time tm to write this and I'm happy its finally posted.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The question of what now and what exactly Twilight’s and Pinky’s relationship was.
Unfortunately, they didn’t really get a chance to process anything because as soon as they both were spotted, Twilight and Pinky were whisked off to do different tasks around the settlement. Enno was found and still healing in Skyloft but they needed more supplies. Twilight went on a small hunting trip for food with Wild while Pinky was able to team up with Zelda with the other supplies since there wasn’t much supplies on the surface.
When they finally reconvene, it was the evening at the inn.
The others had already split up the room at the inn to save on time. This led to them sharing a room. Naturally.
Pinky looked at Twilight with a small tired smile “I’ll be in your care again then.” She was teasing him. Twilight’s nerves couldn’t be calmed though. The two of them knew that the talk needed to happen but was it so wrong of him to process this without the crushing realization that she liked him back, and not only that, but have a ranch and family together?
However, fate it seems had other ideas for them.
As when the two of them walked into the room, there was only one bed. Twilight had to stand there for a moment. Two, actually. He couldn’t help but sigh. This had the other boy’s prank idea written all over it. He walks in already taking off his bag and pelt. “I’ll sleep on the-“
“Sleep with me,” Pink said, interrupting him. This caused another long pause as Twilight tried to do the math in his head about what she even meant with that. “I mean sleep in the bed with me.” Pinky clarified quickly, “please… there’s enough room for the both of us.” She walks over, helping him take off the pelt with Twilight frozen in his spot. Then he takes her hands. “We… we also need to-“
“I love you.” Twilight was a little loud with that announcement taking her back for a second. It was very loud for such an intimate moment. “For a while now actually.” He continued. He can’t stop now that the flood gates are open. “Maybe since I’ve first met you.”
With a shaky hand, he lifts it up to cup her cheek. “Your laugh, your smile, your everything. I love it all. I love how gentle yet firm you are, that you look out for the others and me. I love your boundless empathy, your wit, and determination.” Twilight gently tugs Pinky closer, giving her a chance to back off if she chooses to. But she steps closer when he intends to hold her while wrapping her arms around his torso.
“I love you Brittany.”
“Link…” Pinky tears up then goes face first into his chest. “I love you too.” Just a few simple words and he was tearing up. Holding her felt like he was holding the world in his arms.
It felt safe and warm having her here.  “Yes, I will share the bed with you.” He adds.
This made Pinky pause for a second and laugh.
Twilight cups her cheeks again, “may I?”
“Yes, finally!” Pinky sighs, wrapping her arms around his neck. “Please.” She didn’t have to say anymore as Twilight swoops in for a long deserved kiss.

I've been thinking about this a bit and wanted to know your opinion, but every time they involve Reader and The Chain in an isekai, Reader knows the Links from video games.
But what if she/he/they knew about The Chain through The videogames, the comic and the writings it reads on Tumblr, just like we do? A Yandere content writer or consumer of said content, Reader will know how to read the signs and avoid becoming obsessed with she/he/they
Or no
Or you can choose to make them obsess over You, why go back to the stress of modern life where everyone is doing everything they can to survive? Why not just stay and pretend ignorance? Why not be pampered to the extreme and never lift a finger again? Sorry for the people who got hurt in your name, but you didn't know any of them deeply and you didn't witness the scene either, so why bother with something that doesn't affect your new life? Of course You would have to pretend to be stubborn so they don't suspect And being very good to them, but that is already returning the affection they give you, a reward for what they do for you...,all that sounds much better than worrying about working, saving, paying bills...
this is such a juicy premise, won’t lie. A self-aware Reader who knows everything about the Chain.
Like…Wild would blush furiously if they casually mentioned cooking all the stat-boosting meals he used to make.
Or Legend would probably be smug if they quoted his exploits from the games or stories or how people talk about his adventure decades after they were told.
Hyrule might be freaked out at first (like, people know of his journey??? People know about HIM???) but would eventually see it as proof Reader was meant to know them on a deeper level.
and all of them would take it as a personal challenge to live up to every expectation Reader’s have of them.
Now…let’s think about it a bit
Reader would know exactly what’s happening when they catch the boys watching them too closely, when their protective behavior ramps up, or when they subtly isolate Reader from others. They’ve read this all before, heck, Reader might’ve even written about it.
They’d immediately try to keep a safe distance, avoiding favoritism or letting them get too close. But let’s face it, The Chain isn’t going to let that happen. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
They’d be hyper away if Reader’s behavior. The second they start acting evasive, they’ll probably see it as a sign that they’re scared of something and need even more of their ‘protection.’
They might ‘accidentally’ stumble upon Reader’s escape attempts, but make it look natural enough that Reader can’t tell if they are actually aware of their attempt or if they actually stumbled upon them.
Now~ if Reader either consumed or written yandere content, then they are painfully aware of how the chain react to resistance. Every attempt to push them away just makes them cling tighter. Reader is caught in the trap of knowing too much, and that knowledge doesn’t make it any easier to escape.
In fact, Reader would probably overthink the chain’s habits and words and stuff like that (if they are an overthinker.)
Hyrule’s innocent smile, Legend’s sharp tongue, Warriors’ charming words. They ARE genuine.
But they’re also all masks, and Reader would know it. But they also know that the chain will use every trick in the book to keep them if they get a hint that Reader wants to leave.
If they ever find out Reader knew about them from games, comics, and fanfiction? Oh, it’s over. They’ll think it’s destiny, that Reader was meant to be theirs.
Like, I can genuinely see Sky say something like ‘You’ve always known us,” and he’s say it with a gentle, almost eerie smile. “You were always meant to be here.”
And everyone KNOWS if Sky makes such a decision, then they are ALL gonna be stubborn too.
And…
if Reader DECIDES to play along, well can anyone blame them?
Modern life is stressful. Bills, jobs, societal expectations, don’t even get them started on the chaos around the world.
it’s all exhausting. Reader would realize they could have a life of comfort and adoration if they just… stop fighting it.
Sure, they might have some murderous tendencies, but Reader’s read enough fanfiction to know how to keep them happy. Play along, stay on their good side, and reap the benefits of being their one and only obsession.
And if Reader is an introverted who doesn’t like being near too many people and prefers to stay home. Then even better for them! (Both Reader and the Chain)
Reader would make a conscious effort to pretend ignorance. When Wild smiles just a little too widely or Twilight’s growls seem directed at someone standing too close to them, They even feign obliviousness when they see a bit TOO much red on their clothes. (Though Reader would probably find a way for them to NOT kill anyone. Beat the hell out of? Sure no problem. Kill? eeeeh…not so much.)
Reader would reward their affection with kindness. compliments, gratitude, maybe even initiating a hug now and then. It keeps them sated, like giving treats to a pack of overprotective wolves. (Twilight is definitely doing the growly growls of happiness when Reader runs their fingers through his hair.)
Like…Reader knows they’ve probably already done a lot of terrible things in their name, but… well…Reader didn’t witness it, and it doesn’t affect their day-to-day life. It’s easy to compartmentalize when they treat them like royalty, their sole focus on keeping Reader happy.
Time would bring them tea, Warriors would ensure they’d never uncomfortable, and Sky offers you soft, soothing music. Wild hums and cooks. Why go back to stressing about rent when Reader can have this?
I mean…they’d have to pretend to be stubborn at times, just enough to keep the chain from getting suspicious. Let’s face it, if Reader is too accommodating, they might worry they’re hiding something or question why they aren’t more wary.
The trick is to keep them believing Reader is slowly being won over. Let them think their affection is working, and they’ll continue pouring their energy into doting on them rather than spiraling into paranoia.
