I think it really is a testament to how good the storytelling in Kingdom Hearts is that it can make expected moments still feel significant and emotional. Like, even if I ignore the fact that I got spoiled on a lot of story-beats before I ever played the games: We knew that Xion would disappear at the end of Days. We knew that the Wayfinder trio would fall to darkness at the end of BBS. We knew that most of Xehanort's classmates would die, that Roxas would come back, that Sora would save Aqua etc and yet when it happens it's executed so well that it still feels as important as it should be. We know that Scala and the people living in it will probably be fucked at the end of Missing Link and we know that Sora will probably escape from Quadratum in KH4, but you bet I'll cry when it happens nonetheless

Sorry this took me a bit to answer bc I was originally draw more but I lost my steam so it was just sitting in my drafts for days,,, I didn’t draw anything u we’re talking about I’m sorry 😭 hope it’s not a crazy letdown

I might draw more in the future bc I DID have some fun visions,,, like playing games thatre themed after their games, Ravio running a souvenir shop with overpriced stuff,, them going camping and botw link being great at providing food out in the wild,,,,,, what if they stop at a beach and sailor and bunny show mc link how to build a giant sand castle,,, I dunno

so that's what i've been working on for the past 2 weeks! i wanted to draw something for this intro ever since i first listened to it (as a companion piece to my other gur drawing, though it of course ended up being way bigger in scale), but it only really gripped me about halfway through PALISADE ep 18. the next morning after that i listened to this narration on repeat for about 45 minutes and then made a big sketch on 4 sheets of paper at my desk at work.

anyways, i haven't listened to the new episode yet but i think i'm probably ready for whatever they're gonna throw at us with the next sortie. i'm gonna believe, against it all, in millennium break. for gur
