Soft Vashwood fic for WIP Wednesday please. Good luck with writing!

I may or may not have watched a bunch of videos of men dancing in swing and lindyhop competitions only to decide not to describe the actual dancing yet.

No regrets. (Except on how rough this is).

“Hey there handsome, wanna dance?” 

This was a daydream he’d never dared hope to see manifested. Vash couldn’t even form a “yes” through the sudden giddiness, just grinned back and grabbed the offered hand. Vash laughed as he was spun around and pulled against Wolfwood’s chest, felt his rumbling laugh in return. A brief moment and the lightest kiss was the only pause he got before they began to move.

Vash knew how to dance. He knew the steps of dances born before spaceflight, had been around humanity enough to know the ways they had since evolved. He knew Wolfwood was physically capable, graceful in the ways that slipping around corners to dodge a bullet makes you be. He knew he could keep a beat by the ways he would occasionally drum his fingers on the table when a song played.

What he did not know was that Wolfwood knew how to dance, and knew how to dance well.

I've been trying to figure out some kind of 'lead trainer' for years, and the best I got was some kind of card game thing that didn't actually work as there's too many options.

What style does RGB dance in

pretty much any style you want, he's very flexible! but he's particularly well versed at stuff like swing, lindyhop, jive etc.

...though maybe not ballet. that's Julienne's thing.

In all honesty, whoever in Warsaw that's been teaching follows to actually follow (unless taking initiative or interrupting) in a social dance would get a 11 out of 10 from me for what they've been doing.

(Yes, I know they're from Warsaw because I ask them)

The weekender isn't event mid way and I'm already looking forward to the next time I get to be here.

last thing i watched on youtube: this is a really good question, because i have absolutely no idea, i don't use youtube often enough to remember. perhaps something with foil arms and hog, or maybe it was this..?

favourite lazy sunday activity: curling up on my sofa back home, with a huge cup of tea, and watch a movie, or an ice hockey game (though, tbh, ice hockey rarely happens on sundays, they're reserved for fridays and saturdays, usually), and crochet something, or read a book.

sweet/spicy/savoury: sweet. absolutely not something bitter or sour. but yeah, i do have a huge sweet tooth

current obsession: hm, i have several, i guess.. been learning how to do lindyhop, which has become a bit of an obsession. also, have to obsess a bit about historical english linguistics for my thesis project (it's actually a good thing, i'm excited (but also afraid, because what if i mess this up?!?)), playing 20x20 'hard' square loopy

looking forward to: a solo weekend. time for myself as my grandparents are going on a trip. not doing much tomorrow (saturday) but then. sunday. i'm going to watch tre kronor v finland live, and then i'll have lindyhop class(es) in the evening. am definitely looking forward to sunday :)

I'm thinking of a Phineas and Ferb pony/mlp au, and while I've managed to settle on what I want some characters to be, for others I'm either split between two opinions or have no idea.

It's not really set in mlp:fim's world building, it leans more towards normal Phineas and Ferb but all the characters are mlp creatures and magic is a thing that exists.

I've also come up with some befitting pony-names for some characters, but am still stuck on others

I want all the Flynns to be unicorns, the Fletchers to be hippogriffs/sea ponies (which is the same thing, they just have two forms), the Doorensmirtzes to be griffons, and the Johnsons to be earth ponies and pegasi.

(Jeremy and their dad are pegasi, while Suzie and their mom are earth ponies, the Australian cousin is also a pegasus.)

I can't decide if I want Baljeet to be Abyssinian and have Buford be a Diamond Dog, because of the mlp:fim canonical tensions between those two species.

Or if I want Buford to be a Dragon and Baljeet a Kirin. Or have Buford be a Yak while Baljeet is a Deer (based on the mlp:fim comics).

I like the dragon and kirin option the least of the three, because something about one being bipedal while the other is a quadruped gives me a weird vibe.

I only even came up with it because it's really easy to picture Buford as a dragon, but if I give Buford power over fire I feel like I have to give Baljeet fire too.

I'm leaning the most towards having them be the cat and dog, and I don't know if that makes be boring because what else would they be, or if having them be so distinctly not ponies in the pony AU makes it an unusual choice.

Isabella (and her family) are earth ponies, and I've decided that all of the Fireside Girls are similarly earthbound and magicless, though not all of them are specifically earth ponies. Like Holly is a zebra, for example.

Irving and his brother are Changelings, Django and his dad are Unicorns, Jenny is an earth pony, Johnny (Vanessa's first love interest) is a bat pony.

I'm thinking of making the Hiranos Orinthians (anthro bird people). Which might look like I'm breaking the no magic or flying baseline I made for the Fireside Girls, but Orinthians can't actually fly and only glide at most, because their wings are too arm and hand shaped to be used for actively flying.

Now names I'm not changing depend on two things. First is if the creature they are, use more human-ish names vs more object/idea pony-ish names. Second is whether or not their original name is applicable to the second thing, again Holly comes to mind.

Like Diamond Dogs, Abyssinians and Orinthians all use more human style names, so I don't think I'll change the names of the characters I made into one of these. Griffons also use human names, though typically only those that start with G but I'm just going to quietly disregard that.

I already have some pony names I like for various characters, Adorabella for Isabella, Cadence for Candace (Cadance is a nickname for the alicorn princess Mi Amore Cadenza, not her actual name), Linda's pony-name is Lindyhop (with stage name LindiPop in her popstar days).

I'm really struggling with a name for Lawrence, like he's an antiquer/historian, but I don't really know how to make a cutesy pony names out of either of those concepts.

Ferb remains Ferb because what else is his name supposed to be. I'm leaning towards Phenomaly (phenomenal and anomaly portmanteau) or something similar for Phineas, I want to still have it to have a ph start.

Summary: Your a lovely cat who lives near her family because your still accustomed to your mom’s cooking, and your father help, like killing a spider, your at the age of 22, you work as many things; Repairer, Mechanic, Babysitter, Cleaner, but getting a job that is meant for a man, even if he’s you’re a woman is a little hard, especially in 1927, it has been a little hard finding a job, since a group of gangsters started crawling more in town causing mischief, and mayhem in town. Little did you know a gang was exactly what you needed to get a job! And maybe even finding a lover too~.

You owe me a dance!” Ivy said excitedly, already grabbing the ginger’s paw, trying to flirt her way in with the ginger cat and Freckle’s response is “I do?” Freckle said confused to Ivy’s action as she tugs him in for a dance “Yes I’ve decided, you know the Charleston?” “No” “The Lindyhop?” “No.” “The Roudabout? The Jingle Jangle?” “The Hoopty Noodle?” the cute pair went off to dance, and Mitzi watched them, with a heartwarming smile, remembering what it’s like to be young and in love, that heartwarming feeling inside

While Viktor gives them both death glare, until Mitzi pats the top of his paw, letting him know that they’re okay. Meanwhile Mr. Sable just being in the background drinking the alcoholic beverage, with disgust in his face.

Mitzi sighs as she looks down with a worried and tired look on her face, “What’s wrong? Is it new recruits? because I will gladly kick them out” Victor says to Mitzi, since he knows how Mitzi have been struggling ever since with her husband death, business went down and payments are increasing, so he does what he can for her

“No it’s not them I’m worried about” this confused Viktor so he asked Mitzi “Then why do you look so uhh what do you call it ‘blue’?” Victor said unsure of how to say the phrase correctly “Oh Viktor, what am i going to do? The business isn’t making any money, we have more damages and worries coming, and now the car is damaged, I just wish there was a way to fix the damages without having to pay too much money for it” “Hmm, maybe I can help” Viktor said not too sure if he should bring up the idea “What do you mean by that Viktor? Do you know someone? ” Mitzi asked, confused to why did Viktor sounded a little unsure, I mean this is Viktor we are taking about! He doesn’t even blink when a ferocious animal attacks him

“Yeah his name is Inez” Mitzi felt relief, maybe there’s hope after all! “He won’t do the job but he haves a oldest son, and he knows about mechanic as well, I can try to talk to him and convince him to help us” “Wait wha- convince? Why do you have to convince him? Isn’t that his job?” “He knows about mechanic, but he doesn’t work as one” “Well I still appreciate it Viktor, thank you so much dear” “No thank you’s yet, I still have to talk to him, I just hope they still have the same number as before” “If you don’t mind me askin love but how come you guys haven’t talk?” “We stopped talking, after he found out I worked for lackadaisy” “Oh, is that…so?” Mitzi said feeling confused and unsure what to say next
