Habitat: In bodies of water in arid areas
Found in: Australia
Fun fact(s): They get the “banjo frog” name from the fact that their call sounds a lot like a banjo - [video of one calling]. There are other banjo frogs as well!

Young Limnodynastes dorsalis, Western Pobblebonk. Mostly head and eyes, it seems.
Wellard, Perth. Probably from the tiny pond across the road from where I found it - said pond currently being turned into yet another housing development. *sigh*

#676 - Limnodynastes dorsalis - Pobblebonk
AKA Western Banjo Frog, which is descriptive, but not nearly as endearing as Pobblebonk. True, the name is applied to three different frogs, Limnodynastes dorsalis, Limnodynastes dumerilii, found in Eastern Australia, and the Scarlet-sided Pobblebonk, Limnodynastes terraereginae, all with a call that sounds like a bango string being plucked.
Beeliar, Perth
