Adare Manor is located in the village of Adare, in the county of Limerick, Ireland. The Neo-Gothic manor was built in the 19th century for the Dunraven Earls upon the site of a 17th century structure, in which some of the walls were retained. The 7th Earl of Dunraven couldn’t afford to maintain the Adare Manor, so the estate and its contents were sold in 1982 to an investment consortium. In 1987, Thomas Kane, an Irish American from Florida, purchased the estate and converted it into the Adare Manor Hotel and Golf Resort. In 2015, the property was purchased by Limerick businessman J.P. McManus, who hosted pro-am golfing events on the property. Adare Manor is scheduled to host the 2027 Ryder Cup. Set on the banks of the Maigue River, the 840-acre estate boasts parkland, extensive gardens, a golf course, grounds for the Limerick Cricket Club, self-catering lodges, two three-bedroom self-catering cottages, a Michelin star restaurant, a spa, and the Padel Club. (Padel is a mix between tennis and squash) The Padel Club activity center offers two indoor padel courts, a 17-meter pool, a sauna, a steam room, a full gym, a contemplative studio, and a sports simulation room used for virtual golf, baseball, hockey, and more. Adare Manor has 104 bedrooms. Forty-two of them are part of a new wing linked to the original structure by a colonnade.

(via How to Curse Your Enemies)
Below are a couple examples of 19th-century Irish curses to give you some ideas. The first was found in 1902's Traces of the Eder Faiths of Ireland; the second is an excerpt from a letter sent to an Irish landlord from County Limerick in 1886.
May you never prosper. The first drop of water to quench your thirst — may it boil in your bowels. May the flesh rot off your bones, and fall away putrid before your eyes. May your limbs wither and the stench of your rotten carcass be too horrible for hungry dogs. May you fade into nothing, like snow in summer. May you be accursed in the sight of God, and hated by your fellow man. May you die without a priest. May the Almighty’s curse rest on your children. This, I pray.
May you wither up by the fire of hell soon and sudden, may the flesh rot off your bones, and fall away putrid before your eyes, and may the consolation of eternal flames come to be your consolation in your last illness, and the hearthstone of hell be your pillow for ever.

is ireland cool like on a day to day basis not politically or anyth
um idk ig it depends what part of the country ur in (like which county and if it's in a town city or rural) bc the cities would have a lot more things to do than towns (shops and things to do yk) and then if ur in the rural areas (like u have a farm or smth) ur kinda isolated from everything and u have to drive everywhere but it can be nice if ur friends are on the bits of land nearby (idk if this is making any sense sorry 😭😭😭) but in general i wouldn't say it's like the coolest place ever it's pretty average but it's not the worst either??? i would say tho everyone is v judgy and like u can't do anything that makes u stand out at all or ppl will think ur a freak 🫤

I do find that seamboyseam fella funny ó am go chéile (the lad with the strong limerick accent that had a couple videos about Irish words floating around here) but he gets on my nerves a bit with the fact that he literally only puts on the limerick city accent for his irish language videos 😐

En Garde
The facade of Castlegarde, County Limerick, the core of which is a five-storey tower house said to have been in continuous occupation since first constructed by the O’Brien family. After being confiscated by the crown and granted to Sir George Bourchier at the end of the 16th century, the building passed through various hands until 1820 when acquired by Waller O’Grady, a son of Standish O’Grady,…

Wyoming's new poet laureate charms snarky kid
Fans, fellow writers, and curious newcomers filled the Rock Springs Public Library meeting room, eagerly waiting to hear from Barbara Smith, Wyoming’s newly appointed poet laureate. When Smith stood to speak, her voice brought words to life, painting vivid pictures of Wyoming’s landscapes, changes over time, rich history, and the people whose lives still enrich us. After the reading, the…
