A little sketch of Lilith. It's old but I'm still kind of proud of it. It came from a time when I was still figuring out her hair

I would like to tell you ALL but there is so much... so many of them too

I'll tell you about Lilith because she is. 👍🏻

So Lilith is a 53-year old scientist. She's transenger transeder transenedger trans and she isn't one for labels when it comes to sexuality but she's pan.

She became a scientist when she was 19 because the only living relative of her missing childhood friend was a scientist, and she was determined to find this friend.

She also had a little sister, Patience, who burned down/exploded the first laboratory Lilith worked at with herself inside, claiming that the scientists there were "impure" and "no longer true scientists" as they had allowed themselves to lose focus on the pursuit of knowledge and let their emotions get in the way. She planned an escape route for her, although she barely survived because she refused to leave until the child (who was 14 at the time) physically threw her through the door. Lilith lost an arm and most of her eyesight due to the fire and chemical fumes messing with the contact lenses she wore at the time. She also got a lot of scars, which is why she now wears very covering clothing. She was 20 at the time and pre-transition.

This makes for some beautiful irony and symbolism, what with her eyes glowing orange and her hair, although going white, still resembling fire - she refuses to go near real fire, and panics a little when in the dark because the way her eye lights flicker when she blinks or moves looks like fire.

Before Patience's death, Lilith was nervous, gentle and timid, and rarely smiled. She became rather the opposite afterwards, and you could even say she became more like her - Patience was anything but patient, although as she grew Lilith did become more graceful and authoritative.

This event nearly ruined everything for her - her life's work, her only family, her friends, her lead to her friend - gone, just like that. But all was not lost, as the previously mentioned relative of said friend decided to help her. His name was Iden Kerenimure. His name is a pun but it doesn't matter

He was a piece of shit. A cocky, dishonest, amoral old man, who claimed he did what had to be done but in truth took joy in the suffering of his test subjects... one of which happened to be his grandson, and Lilith's missing friend.

There was a reason Iden was Acheron's only living relative; he killed his own daughter, son-in-law and other grandson - "for the sake of science," he said. And when the child was left orphaned, he decided to make him useful.

What Iden did to Acheron was years of intense torture - he shaved his head to make the experiments easier, giving him some hair-related trauma too. He implanted a remote device into the boy's back, to which he linked everything else to control him like a human puppet. What he linked to this device was supposedly retractable metal claws, and a false eye with a camera and a light that could not be turned off.

At the age of 14 Acheron escaped, and was found and adopted by either a travelling circus or the mafia. Not sure which yet. Which is why Lilith could not find him, even following all the right leads - Iden covered up everything he could, and Acheron's identity and location were hidden by his new family.

Anyway several years later, at the age of 32 for Lilith and 31 for Acheron, two things happened. 1, Acheron came back and killed Iden. 2, Lilith's boss got killed and her childhood friend she spent her whole life looking for was found.

It was a rather awkward situation, although Lilith managed to make the best of it even after dropping the mug of coffee which then mixed with the blood all over the floor.

They ended up making a deal of sorts - Acheron stole Iden's identity, and continued his work in a far more ethical manner, allowing him to reconcile with his turbulent past, reunite with old friends, and pick up the broken pieces of the life he left behind.

He never quite learned what exactly Lilith got out of it, aside from inheriting ownership of the institution and now being the boss scientist or whatever they're called. He is still incredibly suspicious but what he does not know is that all she ever wanted was for him to be safe, to be here, to stay with her! The thing about Lilith is that her main motivation, what drives her, is love. She loves her work and she loves her home and she loves her brother friend and she loves her kids test subjects and co-workers! She does not love herself though

A fun thing I didn't realise I was doing until it was done was Lilith's glasses representing her humanity. As a child, her glasses were constantly taken away as a punishment - her mother only treated her like a person when she was behaving. When she ran away and joined Iden, she abandoned her morals - which can be referred to as her humanity - and crushed her (already cracked) glasses, opting to instead use the contact lenses Iden gave her. Now, in the present, despite being blind she wears a pair of coloured, purely cosmetic glasses - symbolizing how she can never truly go back to the kindness and innocence of her childhood but she's trying, goddammit.

So I've been developing Lilith a little more, and I'm giving her a redesign and also making her blind.

Not only is it just a good thing to have more disabled characters in general, but blindness would definitely add some aspects to her character that fit well with her backstory and build well on top of what she is already.

I'm also going to be redesigning a couple of other characters and working a little more on the worldbuilding.

Okay first off I love her design and I wanna know more

Second i bet Nora would be confused about what’s wrong with her parenting style in her mind it’s like

“I don’t see anything wrong with how I’m raising my…child, I am simply providing it with the best care it could ever want”

Then it cuts to her memories of all the bullshit she put poor Sydney through physically and emotionally

But eh at least I’m not alone in hatin her
