the ending of i saw the tv glow fucked me up because in a meatphor sense she's going to spend the rest of her life in misery because she was too afraid to embrace her true self. her happy self. and in a literal sense she's LITERALLY being buried alive which is like top 100 fears of mine and the fact her inhaler stopped working which is like. the sign that she's losing oxygen kept me up at night. aaaaaaaaaaaaaaAAAA
Ourgh yeah the burying alive is. Fucked up if real! But personally I've said before but I do see the ending as not Great but at least hopeful, I think even if she doesn't accept herself right away she's going to at least try to like, find people who can help her, because she is screaming for help at the end, even if no one responds. And that's much better than suffering in silence. At least, that's if you assume her life outside the Pink Opaque is real in some way, which tbh I do. I think even if she were to bury herself like Tara, it wouldn't perfectly put her in Isabel's body, and she wouldn't be young again. Idk I'll say that I think the world of ISTTVG is supernatural and sitting within unreality rather than full fantasy, and neither The Pink Opaque or "Real Life" is fully true. I think they blur together one way or another
#ISTTVG spoilers#I saw the TV glow spoilers#This is heavily theoretical but I think Tara sorta. Didn't choose the best option. I think the MC was too afraid but Tara was too#Idk. She was too ready to basically die for what she thought was the truth. I think the idea of the MC being Isabel FROM TPO is not the bes#Like. Movie message as someone who has been deeply fixated on things + specific characters to the point I was filtering almost all of my#Thoughts through them. So I think the best case is for the MC to understand how much she wants to be Isabel or wanted to be#And let herself feel that without shame while also becoming her own person. Does that make sense?#I think the ending is less her losing air underground and more just. The breaking point of something. And I do think Mr melancholy is uh#Doing some shit in both realms but maybe not specifically the way the show plays out? Idk I have thoughts but they're a mess#Also I wonder if someone could say something about the moon being traditionally feminine and the villain being a masculine form of the moon#Tho the man in the moon isn't like a new concept I still think there's something worth digging into there but Idk enough to do it myself lo

Scream Theory #1: Stavo
Okay, so I may have an unhealthy obsession with MTV’s SCREAM. I love the characters so much and have been watching the episodes over and over again. And there a few things that don’t sit well with me.
One, in season 2, Stavo is introduced. Sure, he protects Brooke and her being injured is the only thing that visibly upsets him to the point where he cries (he didn’t get half that upset when his iPad was destroyed). But, he steals a thing of Brooke’s lipstick … and less than ten minutes later, a message written in the same shade of lipstick is found in Emma’s locker. Not only this, but Stavo’s phone looks exactly like the one the Mayor saw in Troy James’ barn just before he was murdered. Sure, lots of people could have that kind of phone, but still. The lipstick thing was a bit odd.
Second, Brooke should be dead.
Now, I mean this logically. I love Brooke and she is such a strong character with great development throughout the series. But think about it. End of season 1, she was locked in a freezer for goodness knows how long and stabbed a few times. Also season 1, the killer made Emma choose between Brooke and Riley. Miraculously, he listened to Emma and left Brooke alone. Though he set up that scene in the hotel room to lure Brooke into danger. Then, in season 2, she was practically gutted in the movie theater. But, she survived, and did so when she was all alone and/or away from home. Even after she broke up with Jake, she got home safely. Ergo, the killer either thought he needed her for his big reveal, or …. had a thing for her.
Now, it’s clear that Kieran was the main killer in season 2. Yet, like Noah said, “What if that accomplice found another accomplice?” Kieran was fixated on Piper and Emma. Specifically his obsession with his former relationship with Piper and his thirst for revenge towards Emma. It’s possible Kieran could have had a thing for Brooke, maybe he even stalked her. In the very first episode, Kieran tells Emma he’s in the greenhouse because he’s, “Avoiding Brooke”. That could be because he didn’t want her to see him watching her. Or, he could dislike her. And someone else could have the obsession with Brooke.
I think that person is Stavo.
He is always there when Brooke calls. Even if it wasn’t her, if he thinks she’s the one talking or asking him to help her, he’s there within twenty minutes. He also watches her in places he has no reason to be. He’s in the auditorium during the Lady of the Lake auditions. He’s in the finalists’ dressing room when Brooke is alone. He’s also desperate to follow her to New York in the last episode. He loves her, but maybe not in the most healthy way.
When Brooke is stabbed in the movie theater and taken to the hospital, Stavo is a mess. He’s crying and can barely hold it together. When weeks before, his best friend DIED in front of him and all he did was call 911. Rather than mourn his friend, he drew him. Blood and all. Brooke went into surgery, and he nearly had a melt down. Therefore, he cares deeply for Brooke, thought not necessarily in a good way. When others DIE in front of him, he’s “cool as a cucumber”. When Brooke is injured, he’d tear the world apart to save her.
Stavo not only cares for Brooke, he’s gone great lengths to protect her. He pretends to be her boyfriend to get Seth Palmer to leave her alone. He stays with her when she’s away from home. And he does whatever she asks if him when it involves people who hurt her. Another thing with that, he doesn’t seem to like sharing her. With anyone. So … maybe, he could have done some stuff to help him get Brooke all to himself. Like, have her ex-boyfriend and lying dad killed.
What I’m trying to say is, maybe the story isn’t over. Maybe MTV doesn’t have to start fresh with a new cast. Maybe Audrey was right.
Maybe Stavo helped Kieran with his plans in season 2. After all, Jake and the Mayor were killed, but Brooke didn’t die. Seth met an even grizzlier end, all because he hurt Brooke. And when Kieran hurt Brooke, Stavo went off the playing field to stay with Brooke in the hospital.
Not to mention, Stavo is not only devistated by Brooke’s injury. He seems … guilty. As though he feels responsible for what happened to her. As he could have been. Sure, the guilt could have come from leaving the movie theater and not trying harder to get in. The again, there could have been more reasons behind his guilt.
So, some food for thought. Stavo might have more of a connection to the Lakewood murders than just what he draws of them and who he knows who was involved. What better killer than someone who is already acclimatized to violence and murder?
