Anyone remember the series of stain glass-esque style drawings from August/September? Well, I finally finished up making digital versions of each one, and here they all are!
(And like with the last couple of times, here's the links to all the previous stain glass versions)
(Kido-Kano-Seto)
(Ayano-Momo-Mary)
(Takane-Shintaro-Haruka)
(Hibiya-Hiyori-Konoha)

INTELLIGENCE ( and generally being absolutely amazing )
Multiple people ( even outside of his family ) have pointed out Ritsu’s intelligence and how he excels in nearly every other aspect of life.
Ritsu, a 1st Year ( 13 years old ), is the only one of his grade to place Top 10 in the schools Track Race, where the majority of the other placers were 2 years older than him AND in a club dedicated to extreme fitness. As far as we know, Ritsu is not in any sports clubs, only the student council.
He threatens people just by existing. Makes them feel inferior without any effort.
He is capable of INCREDIBLE feats that anyone would be proud of- but Ritsu does not care about it in the slightest. He is not proud, any of his achievements are unimportant to him. Anyone can study and be smart. Anyone can be good at sports.
But, not everyone can be an esper.
INFERIORITY COMPLEX
Basis - the underlying support or foundation for an idea, argument, or process.
Having psychic abilities is Ritsu’s standard of the world. If he’s not an Esper, if he’s not like his brother ( bowl cut kid w/ bendy spoon ), he’s not worth shit. It’s been that way since “birth” ( so dramatic ... but since he was a wee thing ok ).
Considering this is pretty much literally self worth, this all speaks for it in itself. It’s noticed MANY times ( I can’t even grab them all ) by other’s how Ritsu compares himself to his brother and falls short. It’s noted many times how much better Shigeo is in this area - the only one important to Ritsu - than he is. Ritsu himself is well aware of his inferiority.
But the thing is, it doesn’t just end at simply feeling inferior to Shigeo and NEEDING to be an Esper to feel like he’s worth anything.
MISC BUT IMPORTANT
Ritsu believes himself to be an irredeemable person and one unworthy of help, and cries when his brother offers his forgiveness without making an effort to earn it because he thinks he’s a bad person. GRANTED, that is a “reasonable reaction” considering he brutally attempted to disown his brother and goad him into a fight, and abused his position in school to blackmail and frame students. But, nevertheless, thats something very horrible for a 13 year old boy to already be putting himself.
2. Ritsu blames himself for being kidnapped by a terrorist organization that wanted to USE him and people having to come rescue him. He treats it like an inconvenience.
3. Important for later. Ritsu knows when an opponent cannot be beat.
4. Important for later. Ritsu is aware of the extent of his abilities.
FIGHTS.
This speaks for itself. Ritsu knows he can’t beat this other kid, but he’s the only one who stands a chance. He puts himself on the line in order to guarantee the other kids can escape. They do, and Ritsu is defeated ( off screen ).
Point 3 and 4 from MISC happen before this, point 4 specifically only happening a few pages before. Even if he hadn’t been told he couldn’t handle his opponent, he’d already know. He knows he’s a novice. He put himself on the line in order for others to, again, advance. Ritsu is beaten horribly, very nearly could’ve been killed, but escapes fate when other’s arrive on the scene.
This one hurts me the most. For those unfamiliar with the series, the curly haired, shadowed face, no eyes kid is the same as whited out bowl cut, who is again, Ritsu’s older brother. When unconscious, his brother’s power ( that has developed it’s own conscious more or less ) breaks free and handles business. The last time Ritsu saw this side of his brother is when they were children and his brother ended up hurting and traumatizing him. It was an accident, but one thats damaged him for years and made him the way he is today.
Takane-san is a girl his brother has a crush on. She is in fact someone who his brother hasn’t actually hung out with in YEARS, and it’s more of an admiration crush than anything ( although it’s lasted years as well ). Takane is moving away, and his brother is going to confess. Ritsu knows this, and yet, look at what he thinks.
Ritsu believes if his brother injures his crush, it'll be unbearable. So he believes getting hurt instead is the IDEAL plan. He thinks that’s his only choice. He doesn’t even believe it’ll work, he thinks it’ll probably work, that it would have to, right? He DOUBTS his brother will CARE about HURTING HIM. Thinks his brother will be more crushed by hurting his middle school infatuation, who again, is moving away and it's unlikely he'll even see again, but it's ok if he'll have to face his broken little brother every day of his life- IF he didn't end up killing Ritsu. Ritsu DOUBTS HIS WORTH AS A BROTHER, AS A PERSON. Again, he thinks sacrificing himself is the only thing he’s good for.
Cliffhanger sorry. VERY shortly after this, we see Ritsu FINALLY give himself some credit by fighting back instead, therefore breaking his mold of “i’m not worth anymore than this,” but I’m not gonna spoil HOW, it’s too good. Read MP100. I will only say he is on his way to improvement, but it’ll take a lot more than one correct judgement to change him in a day. It’ll never leave him entirely, but he’ll be able to grow eventually.
