#Liesl's Purchases

I have purchased this fabric (Berry Lotus Seed Block Print cotton from Merchant & Mills) to make the Amarena Dress by Liesl & Co in view B.
I also bought muslin for the first time ever because I really don’t want to mess up my beautiful cotton if I fuck up the first time. The sizing in the pattern seems very small to me, I’m never size 12 in anything…so the muslin is also to help decide the correct size to make.
Wish me luck!

do you happen to have any julia head canons?! <3
again, apologies for how horrendously late this is. But yes! I have many headcanons for Julia, and I've been gaining more as I explore her character a lot in my fics. She's such an underrated character and I absolutely adore her
Here are my Julia headcanons
- Adores art. She and JB would talk the most with each other at Thanksgivings, and she’d listen intently to him relaying the going-ons of the art world. She’s the one responsible for most of the art bought and hung in both their Cambridge house and their Truro house.
- Her brother is younger than her and they’re very close. She’s the one who got him into art which led him to becoming an art history professor.
- Unable to have children. Similarly to Adele, who had no biological children, Julia considered Jude to be her child.
- Her mother walked out on their family when she was very young. Julia barely remembers her, but it was a heartbreak in her childhood. Her father never remarried.
- Stayed in the States because of Harold. She’d gotten a job offer for a lab based in London and had been considering returning to England around the time she met him, but as their relationship developed, she decided to stay.
- Had so many pets growing up. Birds and cats and dogs and hamsters. Her last pet was an aged Jack Russell Terrier that she’d named Agatha. Agatha passed when Julia was in Year 12.
- Was the one who suggested what would eventually become the Truro house. She and Harold had been considering purchasing a vacation home for about a year when she was told of the house by an acquaintance in real estate. She and Harold immediately loved it.
- She was the one who asked Harold out when they met. Harold was still tender from his divorce with Liesl and was hesitant to get into another relationship. After Harold became friends with Julia, she asked him to see an opera together and he agreed. They had such a wonderful time together that he asked her on a second date.
- For most of her life, she’d kept her hair very short. She preferred it that way, as it was easier to manage and kept it out of her face. But when she was fifteen, she wanted to experiment with her look and so she grew it longer to her shoulders. She absolutely hated it and chopped it off in the bathroom sink. Ever since, she’s kept it short.
- She doesn’t like most typical British foods. However, she is very fond of British sweets and pastries. In Particular, Victoria Sponge Cake is her favourite and she would have it every year on her birthday.
- It was actually through her many pets that she would meet her childhood friend Dennys. His father was the veterinarian who cared for one of her cats.
- Despite being very pale, she tans surprisingly well. Sunburns are very uncommon for her.
- The Saint Jude statue that Willem bought for them got moved around a lot in the house. It eventually found its permanent spot on Julia’s dressing table.
- Has a high tolerance for spicy foods, but doesn’t really like them.
- Julia has a very good fashion sense. In secondary school, she was voted the most fashionable by her peers. Despite not often keeping up with fashion trends, she’s always very well-put together and fashionable. After several years of being married, Harold still finds himself speechless with awe seeing her when she’s gotten ready for an event or an outing.
- She didn’t sleep for weeks after finding out about Jude’s cutting. She would lay awake and stare at her phone and try to will herself to call him. But she couldn’t. She was, as they all were, afraid of driving him away or saying the wrong thing. It remained her biggest regret, especially after he passed.
- Loves to cook. Julia often found her love language to be in her cooking, though she wasn’t as intense about it the way Jude was. When they were friends and in the early months of them dating each other, one of the things Julia and Harold bonded over was their love for Italian food. She tried to teach him how to cook once and it took hours (and many open windows) until the burning smell left the house. When they adopted Jude, Julia often cared for him through cooking. She always stayed with him in the kitchen whenever he cooked. She always tried, in subtle ways, to feed him more when he visited.
- Actually really enjoys Willem’s movies. While a lot of them love Willem’s movies mostly for the fact that Willem is starring in them, rather than the movie itself, she actually greatly enjoys the movies and often rewatches them. She was ecstatic when Willem asked her to be his date to the award show.

chapter twenty-nine — bellyache
➝ returning to the paddock after the summer break was nothing like elisabeth imagined.
➝ word count: 4,7k
➝ warnings: anxiety attack, mental health, self-harming (in a sort of way)
➝ author notes: this is one of those personal chapters for me. writing it was like revisiting some demons that were dormant inside me. but, it wouldn't make sense not to address this considering everything you've read about liesl. hope you like it.
AUGUST, 2016
The fabric of the gray blouse made Elisabeth's skin itch. Her jeans felt tight and uncomfortable over her hips and belly, her bra felt like it was squeezing her. Even the heels she was used to wearing were hurting her toes. Looking at her reflection in the mirror, she felt uncomfortable, strange...
Ugly.
— Fuck — she muttered, haphazardly pulling her blouse over her head and tossing it on top of the silver suitcase that was sitting open in a corner of the suite. There were three other blouses that had landed there, along with two dresses and a skirt.
As Toto stepped out of the bathroom, distracted by rolling up sleeves of his white team shirt, he was startled by the gray fabric flying in an arc toward the suitcase. Confused, he glanced at Elisabeth. She was sitting on the bed, wearing nothing but her bra and jeans.
— What's wrong, Liesl? — he asked, his eyes going between the pile of clothes and his girlfriend.
She grunted in frustration and fell back onto the bed, her hands over her face. She felt like she was in the midst of the most stressful situations she had ever been in, which was a feat, considering she had spent almost two years negotiating the purchase of an entire airline. She had no idea what to do.
After the incident with her Instagram, she ended up having to have the conversation with her father that she’d been putting off for years. It went better than she’d expected, so she was relieved. Things would finally be looking up, and she’d finally be able to live openly as Toto’s partner, in peace. So she thought, until the day they decided to go have dinner with her parents in Alsergund — a kind of formal introduction of Toto as her boyfriend.
The night itself had been pleasant. Between glasses of wine and laughter, Toto had the chance to know a little more about her, specially when Marlene started to tell some of Elisabeth's embarrassing childhood stories, like the time Niki took her to Maranello and, after returning from the bathroom, she decided to surprise her father with a hug. However, after jumping on the leg of the man in the red cap, she was startled to realize that it wasn't Niki, but Gerhard Berger, the team's driver. The story made Toto chuckle as he spoke of something similar that had happened to Rosi when she was younger.
After a few hours of living like a normal couple, reality came knocking on the door of Elisabeth’s parents’ building. Crowded on the sidewalk, photographers and videographers sought the best angle of the newest couple in the world of Formula 1. Squeezing Toto's hand as he led her to the car parked in front of the building, she wondered how they had managed to discover that they would be there. She also wondered how they would get out of the neighborhood without running over anyone without being blinded by camera flashes or distracted by indiscreet questions from journalists.
The media scrutiny was a living hell, and it never seemed to end.
With race week in Belgium fast approaching, there was a pile of emails in Bradley's inbox, asking whether she and Toto would be present in the paddock and whether or not they had any statements about their relationship. There was also a frightening increase in Austrian journalists and photographers requesting credentials for the event.
The circuit would be crowded with cameras, all pointed at them.
Movement on the mattress beside her snapped Elisabeth back to reality. She moved her hand from her eyes and noticed that Toto was laying next to her propped up on one elbow and with his head resting in one hand, the other brushing away a few strands of hair that were straying in front of her face.
— You didn't answer me, baby — Toto murmured.
She stared at him for a few seconds, pressing her lips together.
— I don't have anything to wear — Elisabeth replied in a low voice.
He sat up and glanced at the corner of the room where her suitcase was open.
— Considering the pile over there in the corner, I think you have plenty of clothes, Liesl.
Elisabeth rolled her eyes.
— Those didn't look good on me.
— Impossible. You look good wearing anything — he said, bringing the index finger of his free hand to the strap of her bra — Even though I think you look better wearing nothing…
— Torger, I'm serious.
— So am I — Toto said, a smug smile on his face.
Elisabeth huffed in frustration.
— You don't understand — she said, feeling herself starting to get anxious.
Toto put his fingers gently under Elisabeth’s chin, making her look directly into his eyes.
— Then explain it to me, Liesl.
— The problem is that nothing I put on looks good on my body.
— What do you mean by that?
— These jeans, for example, keep digging into my belly. All the shirts I've worn before seem like they don't fit me right. Everything looks ugly on me.
— If you don’t want to wear pants and a blouse, why not a dress?— he asked, brushing a strand of her hair out of her face — That turquoise dress of yours looks really nice.
— I already wore it in the paddock once. What will they think if I show up wearing it again?
— They will think you have a washing machine at home — he replied with a mischievous smile, which made Elisabeth laugh — Seriously, Liesl, nobody cares if you're a dress more than once.
— People do care, Toto.
— I don’t care. I think you look beautiful in it.
A smile appeared on her lips.
— Not everyone is as nice as you, darling. People can be quite — Elisabeth hesitated for a second — Cruel.
Toto brought his face close to hers, looking deeply into her eyes.
— I know, Elisabeth. I learned very early what people are capable of. And it's precisely because I know this that I won't let them do anything to you. I won't let anyone take the smile off your face.
— Toto...
— After the dinner with my mother, after everything that happened with you and your brother, I made myself a promise. I promised that I would never let anyone steal your happiness, Elisabeth. I told myself I would do everything possible and impossible to never see you upset like that again, and I will keep that promise. Not just for you, either, but for Ben and Rosi, for me, for what our future holds.
Tears were already streaming down her temples, a smile held back on her face.
— I love you — Elisabeth said, bringing one of her hands to his cheek. Toto lowered his head slightly, bringing his lips to hers, in a delicate and tender kiss. A few seconds later, he pulled away, smiling.
— I love you too, Liesl. Very much — he whispered, kissing the tip of her nose — Now let's get out of this bed and pick out an outfit for you, okay?
Elisabeth sat up and watched Toto go to the corner of the room and pick up her suitcase, bringing it to the bed. After holding up the things she had already tried on and Elisabeth telling him why she wouldn’t be wearing them, she finally agreed to try on a white dress shirt. It was similar to Toto’s, but without any of the embroidered sponsor logos.
Elisabeth buttoned the shirt and tucked it in. She examined herself carefully in the hotel room’s mirror. She saw Toto approaching through the reflection. He stood next to her, taking her arm gently and unbuttoning the shirt cuffs, carefully folding the sleeves up until Elisabeth's entire forearm was exposed. He did the same thing with the other sleeve, then looked at her through the mirror, a smile on his lips.
— Perfect — he murmured.
Looking back at her reflection, Elisabeth smiled.
— We're dressed alike.
Toto positioned himself behind her, wrapping his hands around her waist.
— Yes.
— Was it on purpose?
— What if it was?
— Maybe it's your way of telling everyone that I'm yours — she tilted her head a bit, indicating that she wanted to be kissed. Instead, Toto took Elisabeth's right hand and lifted it a bit, the diamonds on her ring finger gleaming in the soft light from the window.
— I don't think I need to say much to let everyone know you're mine, Liesl — he replied, kissing the spot below her ear, sending a shiver over her skin — Can we go now?
Elisabeth felt him kiss her head before releasing her. She picked up her black flats from where they were sitting next to the door, sitting down at the bed to put them on. Meanwhile, Toto placed her bag beside her and told her that her paddock pass and her phone were already inside.
— Thanks, dear — Elisabeth said, quickly unzipping the bag to check. Everything was inside. She stood up and slung her purse over her arm, and then looked at Toto. He was standing in front of the mirror, running his fingers through his hair.
— Just a moment — he said, walking over to the bedside table and picking up his round-framed glasses.
— Are you going to put on your glasses? — Elisabeth asked.
— What do you think? — he returned, putting them on and taking them off — On or off?
— On. You look smarter with them.
He put his glasses back on, looking at Elisabeth quizzically.
— Is that your way of saying I'm stupid?
— No, darling — she laughed — It's my way of saying I love men with glasses.
— Well, remind me never to take them off, baby.
— I will — Elisabeth smiled, lifting her head slightly so that he could kiss her softly — Shall we go?
— Yes, Liesl.
They left the room and walked down the deserted hotel corridor to the elevator. Inside, she adjusted the collar of her shirt and noticed Toto’s attentive gaze in her direction. He had a small smile, his eyes directly on her cleavage.
— Is there a problem, Toto?
— No, baby.
— You're staring at my boobs.
— What can I do if they're pretty?
— You could be more discreet.
— I'm being discreet, Liesl.
— No, you are not.
He brought his lips to her ear, sliding one hand down her back, his fingers dangerously close to her breasts.
— If I wasn't being discreet, I would have ripped that shirt off of you by now and would be sucking on your nipples the way I know you like it, right in this elevator.
— And how do you know I like that?
Toto smiled maliciously, his hand sliding further down until it cupped one of her breasts, squeezing it lightly. Seeing their reflection in the polished metal wall of the elevator made her swallow hard, a shiver passing over her skin.
— Because I know you, baby. I know you very well.
She rolled her eyes and attempted to ignore the heat building between her legs. She turned toward the door and reached for the strap of her purse. The elevator’s robotic voice announced they were on the ground floor and the doors slid open. She gripped the strap of her purse tighter, nervous about what awaited them in the lobby of the hotel, never mind en route to the paddock, or god forbid, in the paddock itself. Each possibility seemed more catastrophic than the last.
— Liesl? — Toto said beside her, noticing her hesitation.
— Yes?
— Shall we go? — he asked as he reached out and laced his fingers through hers, his thumb sliding lightly over the back of her hand in a tender caress. His simple gesture gave her a little bit of confidence, beating back the nervousness she’d started to feel.
— Yes, let's go — Elisabeth replied, tightening her grip on his hand.
They crossed the hotel lobby with a certain ease. There were a few familiar faces that they saw, greeting them with a smile or a polite good morning. As they left the hotel, they spotted Mark Webber, who was talking to a woman wearing a Red Bull T-shirt. The ex-driver waved at them, smiling. She smiled back, holding tighter to Toto’s hand.
Contrary to what Elisabeth imagined, there wasn't a crowd waiting for them outside the hotel. There were a few groups of people milling around, most of them team or track employees, all heading to the gate to the first curve of the track, a few meters away.
However, the peace was short-lived.
When they arrived at the paddock entrance turnstiles, something made Elisabeth's heart race. As she passed the badge through the reader, the gate unlocked, and her eyes found the dozens of people that accumulated near the team motorhomes. They all had cameras in hand and attentive gazes, as if they were waiting for someone. She was sure that the person they were waiting on had just arrived.
— Toto! Elisabeth! — someone yelled, drawing everyone else's attention. The mass of photographers began to move, closing in on them, shouting their names. She felt like a deer in the headlights, stuck in place.
Elisabeth only returned to reality when she felt something warm squeezing her hand.
— Liesl? — Toto said, making her look at him – Is everything okay?
She blinked, seeing how many cameras were already trained on them. Her heart was pounding so hard in her chest it felt like it was going to burst. Elisabeth mustered all of the strength she had to crack a smile.
— I'm fine, yes — she said, trying to hide the tremor in her voice — Can we go to the motorhome? I'm craving an espresso.
Toto laughed.
— Then we'd better hurry before you start feeling withdrawal from the lack of caffeine.
She gave his arm a playful pat.
— Dumbass.
— See? The symptoms have already started — he said. She shook her head.
She relaxed a little, despite the presence of the cameras. However, as more media personnel gathered, she began to feel a knot forming in her throat. As the reporters shouted more questions, she felt increasingly uneasy, with the reporters shoving their microphones in her and Toto’s faces, desperate for them to make some statement.
— How long have you been together?
— How did Niki react to the news, Elisabeth?
— Are you living together, Toto?
With her jaw clenched and her head down, she was focused on taking deep breaths and telling herself that they would soon be safely in Mercedes' hospitality, away from all of the madness. She could sit and relax, drink a cup of coffee, and make small talk with Barbara.
“We're almost there”, Elisabeth thought, looking ahead at the silver and turquoise structure.
However, her plans to get to the motorhome as quickly as possible went down the drain when a familiar voice shouted Toto's name. She saw Aldo Costa, the Engineering Director for the team, squeezing his way through the crowd of reporters. He seemed uncomfortable with the amount of people crowding around the team principal. Finally, he managed to get past the crowd.
— I'm glad you're here, Toto, we've been waiting for you.
— Waiting?
— Bono and Lewis want to talk to you about a few things...
— What's the problem?
— Some decisions to be made about the setup for his car for this race.
Toto looked at Elisabeth with an apologetic expression.
— Is that okay, Liesl?
She blinked. She definitely didn't expect him to ask her opinion about that, after all, Toto was the team principal and who ran the show at Mercedes, but him consulting her made her feel special.
— None, Toto. You go with Aldo, I'll go to hospitality for my coffee.
He smiled.
— Can you order my coffee with yours?
— But it'll get cold — Elisabeth argued.
— I won't be long, Liesl — he replied, lifting her hand and placing a gentle kiss on her fingers — You get my coffee, and wait in the office for me if you want.
She nodded, a shy smile on her lips. Toto let go of her fingers and followed Aldo towards the team's garage. Elisabeth watched them walk away through the crowd, with some photographers following them. However, most of the cameras and microphones remained trained on her, following her as she walked back through the paddock, taking a deep breath and trying to ignore the reporters’ questions
— How was the family's first dinner, Elisabeth? — one asked.
— Does your father like Toto? — asked another.
However, it wasn't long before the questions began to sound invasive. Disrespectful, even.
— What's it like dating a man with a background like Toto's? — a woman shouted.
— Were you the pivot of Toto and Aurélie's separation? — another asked.
— What do you have to say about snagging Austria's most eligible bachelor, even though you’ve been called an ‘ugly duckling’ in the past? — someone said, loudly.
Elisabeth stopped in her tracks. As she turned around, looking for the reporter that asked that, her heart felt like it was going to burst from how quickly it was beating. That phrase landed like a knife plunged into her chest, opening a healed-over wound that she had painstakingly tended.
— What? — she stammered, still looking for who had asked that question.
— Here, Elisabeth — a blond man with a beard and an almost cruel smile waved at her from behind a cell phone camera — You're not going to tell me it's not impressive for a woman like you to get a man like Toto Wolff.
She blinked, feeling her eyes fill with tears.
— Like me?
— Yeah, well… Ordinary.
Elisabeth remained silent, staring at the man for a few seconds, as if she expected him to say he was kidding or that this was a bad joke. But the man didn't say any of that. In fact, as if he realized he'd touched a sore spot, he went a step further.
— You know, Elisabeth, you're not the prettiest woman he's ever appeared in public with. Most of his previous girlfriends were pageant winners or models.
“Enough”, she thought, turning around again and quickly toward the direction of Mercedes hospitality. Her eyes burned, her throat was tight, but she was determined not to cry. Not there, in front of the cameras. Elisabeth was determined to deny them the show they were after.
The questions continued to be asked, until she reached the stairs that led to the interior of the motorhome. Her eyes met Bradley’s as he came out of the door. He must have seen something on her face. Bradley was charged towards her, yelling at the photographers to get away from her. He put his arm around Elisabeth and led her into the building, yelling something she couldn’t make out over the sound of her pulse pounding in her ears. The door slid closed behind them, enclosing them in the safety of the Mercedes motorhome. Bradley turned to Elisabeth, his expression changing radically when he saw that her lower lip was quivering and her eyes watering.
— Are you all right, Elisabeth? — he asked quietly — Did you need anything?
— I need to be alone — she said, darting toward the stairs that led to the second floor. Climbing the steps quickly, she thanked God the hallway leading to the office was empty. She didn't want anyone to see her like she felt. Completely broken.
She practically sprinted into Toto’s office, closing the door and dropping her purse on the armchair in the corner. Then, Elisabeth leaned against the wall beside her, and allowed her body to slide down her as the tears streamed down her face, loud sobs escaping her lips as her chest tightened. She felt like she was struggling for air.
She had tried so hard to put that traumatized pre-teen behind her. Elisabeth had wrestled with her demons over the years to move on from the things that the press said about her when she was younger, the things that her classmates laughed at her for. She had hidden, brooded in silence, worked on her own evolution, transforming that awkward little girl, passionate about numbers but lacking any social grace, into a successful businesswoman.
However, hearing the nickname she had gotten as a pre-teen flushed all of that progress to go down the drain. The Elisabeth from before was back, all of those wounds open and stinging.
— Stupid, stupid stupid — she snarled, hitting herself in the head with her fists, her sadness giving way to anger. She was angry at herself for being so vulnerable, for being so sensitive, for being so fragile. Elisabeth kept hitting her head, muttering the same word.
She felt stupid.
Sinking her fingers into her own hair, she dug her nails into his scalp. She wanted to peel off her skin, get rid of the abominable thing that was her face. She wanted to get rid of Elisabeth Lauda forever. Free herself from the disgusting person she was. She started punching herself in the head again, until she felt something wrapping tightly around her wrists, keeping her from attacking herself.
— Liesl, Liesl — someone was calling her, the voice far away, like an echo. However, Elisabeth's body didn't seem to want to respond to what the voice commanded as she tried to wrestle away from whatever was holding her back.
— Stupid, stupid, stupid — she muttered between sobs.
— Stop, stop, please stop it — the voice said, fingers tightening around her wrists — Elisabeth, stop it, please, stop it, stop it, Elisabeth, please. Listen to me, my love.
Hearing “my love” made her grind to a halt, as if someone had suddenly slammed on the brakes of a runaway car. Feeling her arms go limp, Elisabeth slowly opened her eyes, focusing on the familiar brown eyes in front of her.
Toto kneeled in front of her, holding her wrists tightly, his knuckles white with the strain. He looked devastated. Worried. Elisabeth hated making him feel this way, her eyes filling with tears again as guilt flooded her chest.
She spoiled everything she touched.
Elisabeth was a wreck.
— Toto — she stammered. He let go of her arms and cupped her cheeks in his hands, his thumbs wiping away the tears that had already left trails down her cheeks.
— Yes, it's me, Liesl. I'm here, I'm with you.
— They... They said... I'm... You — she sobbed, searching for words as her lips trembled.
— Breathe. Take a deep breath, my love — Toto said. He turned around briefly and told the person behind him that they would speak later, thanking him for letting him know what was going on. His eyes met hers again — Come on, breathe with me, Liesl. That's right, first through the nose, then through the mouth. Focus on me, don't think about anything else but me. I’m here, I’m with you.
Elisabeth felt her pulse slowing down, the tightness in her chest lessening. She stopped crying. With her eyes locked on his, it felt as if the raging storm inside her was slowly dissipating, with the rain easing and the dark clouds pulling away. He kept telling her to take deep breaths, to focus on his eyes, on the sound of his voice. He kept reassuring her that he was there with her, that he was there for her.
It took some time for her to calm down and stop crying, for her breathing and pulse to return to normal. Once she had calmed down a bit, Toto wiped her tears away again.
— Feeling better, Liesl?
— Yes — she said softly.
— Can you tell me what happened?
She pressed her lips together.
— The reporters — Elisabeth began to say, noticing something change in Toto's eyes. There was no longer just concern in his expression. There was anger too — One of them asked me what it was like to have… Hooked Austria's most eligible bachelor by being…
She hesitated for a few seconds.
— Being what?
— Mediocre. Ordinary — Elisabeth replied in a low voice — An ugly duckling.
The mention of the nickname made Toto clench his jaw.
— Liesl, you know that's not true.
— Yes, it is — she murmured, looking away.
— No, it’s not, Elisabeth — Toto replied, brushing a lock of hair away from her face — You're not mediocre, or ordinary. And we've already talked about the story of the ugly duckling.
— But…
— The only opinion that should matter to you is mine. And my opinion is that you are far from ordinary or mediocre. You are extraordinary, Elisabeth. Unique. And I love you exactly the way you are.
She blinked, silent. Elisabeth wanted to believe him. She wanted to feel extraordinary, and unique, just like he thought she was.
— Why don't I feel like that? — she whispered.
— Like what?
— Extraordinary… Or unique.
— Because you see your image based on what you've always heard. You haven't allowed yourself to see the woman you've become, Elisabeth. But I see her. Your father sees her. The team sees her. Everyone in this paddock sees that woman, and respects her… admires her.
She looked down at her lap, where her hands were resting, she could see that her palms were marked with red crescents from where her fingernails sunk into her skin. Elisabeth wanted to believe Toto, every word he had just said, but at the same time, it was like someone whispered in the back of her head that he could only be blind to say something like that. How was he unable to see her flaws? How could he not see the way she sulked, rolled her eyes, and cried all the time?
He sighed, as if sensing that she wasn't convinced by his words. Instead of saying anything else, he wrapped his arms around her, cradling Elisabeth's head on his own chest, kissing the top of her head. Silence fell over the office.
Listening to his heartbeat, Elisabeth felt guilty — guilty for making him worry so much about her, guilty for not being able to control herself, guilty for not being able to be as happy as he wanted her to be. Guilty because she was broken, and she couldn’t be fixed.
— Liesl? — Toto finally spoke, his tone hesitant.
— Yes?
— Have you thought about going to therapy?
She lifted her head to look at him.
— Therapy?
— Yes. Therapy.
— Why?
Toto hesitated for a few seconds.
— Because it helped me. I was 18 when I had my first session and it was like… Someone opening a valve and releasing all the pressure that was building up inside me for years, especially after my father died.
— But…
— Liesl, you're not well. I see it in your face, in your eyes. I see how you’re suffering. And I can't bear to see you in pain, or to hurt yourself, especially when I know there’s nothing I can do to help you feel better.
She blinked. Elisabeth had never thought about going to therapy. Even in the darkest moments of her teenage years, when she thought there was no way out, she hadn't considered seeking help. She had gone through bad times, but her life had been far from being as bad as Toto's. Her parents had never considered getting divorced. Both of them were alive, and healthy, and hadn’t ever faced any major health problems, other than her dad’s kidney failure. She grew up financially well-off and wanted for nothing. She had an almost perfect upbringing. Why would she go to therapy?
— There is no need for that — she started, only to be interrupted by him.
— Please, Liesl — Toto whispered, resting his forehead on hers.
— Toto…
— You need professional help, Liesl. I am not able to help you feel better, especially when you’re suffering like this.
— I'm better. I just lost control for a few minutes, but I’m better now.
— Elisabeth, please. It's not the first time I've seen you having an anxiety attack. It's not the first time I've seen you scratch and punch yourself, trying to hurt yourself in the heat of the moment. It's not the first time I've felt completely helpless, not knowing what to do to help you. Please, Liesl, consider it, for me.
She felt tears fill her eyes again. Elisabeth had never stopped to think about how Toto was affected by her anxiety attacks.
— I don't want to lose you — he whispered, his eyes full of tears — I can't lose you, especially to something I can't fight, which is your mind. Help me, Liesl. Help me to help you.
Elisabeth closed her eyes. She couldn't bear the idea of seeing Toto cry, much less suffer, especially because of her. She needed to do something. He deserved a better Elisabeth. An Elisabeth who was strong, courageous, who deserved her place at his side.
The woman he had met at that restaurant in 2012.
— Okay. I’ll find someone to talk to. I’m at least going to try.

Britt Birthday Bash Gets Underway As The New Year Draws Near
So how exactly did Brad (Parry Shen) and Maxie (Kirsten Storms) do in terms of planning Britt’s (Kelly Thiebaud) birthday party and making it a smashing success? We got a glimpse of the party on Thursday’s episode of General Hospital, replete with shirtless waiters and bartenders, a drag queen, and some epic karaoke tossed in for good measure. When Britt enters the Haunted Star, she compliments Maxie on how amazing everything looks and thanks Brad for the attractive waitstaff! Following his arrival, Austin (Roger Howarth) has private time with Britt. He hopes she is changing her mind about skipping her own celebration and leaving town altogether. Britt explains to Austin that she is making a gracious departure rather than fleeing. She admits that her one-way ticket to destiny will allow her to easily disappear as soon as the clock strikes midnight. https://twitter.com/SoapCrush/status/1608579881725566977 A drag queen then briefly takes over the celebrations to signal to the attendees that it is time to hit the dance floor. Brad and Maxie continue to get praise from Britt for making this a night she will never forget. Approaching Austin, Liesl (Kathleen Gati) expresses her gratitude for his friendship with Britt. She then cautions Britta not to dance too much and exhaust herself. It’s all about having fun tonight, Britt tells her Mutta.
Who was the BBC fitness instructor?
During the height of the coronavirus epidemic, I certainly didn't anticipate becoming a part of the resurrection of home exercise programmes. Considering CEO Mike Ashley's blatant contempt for workers' rights and safeguards, I'm hesitant to advocate for the purchase of resistance bands and yoga mats from Sports Direct. https://twitter.com/Arden_Forester/status/1255031982800678918 I wasn't expecting to be reporting about the state of the internet by discussing the struggles of social media fitness celebrities to get to the top of Instagram's cutthroat engagement hierarchy. Nonetheless, the BBC has retrieved archived film of teacher Tony Britts, a man I am now completely infatuated with, filling the hole of interest in fitness routines previously present on the internet. Tony guides his TV audience through a performance that feels both scripted and spontaneous in Twice as Fit, a three-minute feature on BBC's Breakfast Time, the 1980s forerunner of today's BBC Breakfast. “Hi! So, I figured, "Hey, let's do three exercises today and attempt to integrate them as we have been." Tony's enormous physique is covered in gorgeous fit-wear, and nothing quite prepares you for the ease with which he moves it. This dance-aerobics-yoga hybrid goes well beyond the limitations of the typical training DVD from the '80s. Someone on Breakfast Time said, "I think his hips run on ball bearings." Instead than expecting people to perform to Tony's athletic standards, Twice as Fit provided a safe haven where people could try to mimic his physical prowess in the comfort of their own homes without fear of ridicule. creator tag meme
rules: It’s time to love yourselves! Choose your 5 favourite works you created in the past year (fics, art, edits, etc!) and link them below to reflect on the amazing things you brought into the world in 2018. Tag as many writers/artists/etc as you want (fan or original!) so we can spread the love and link each other to awesome works!
the sweetest @jediknightrey tagged me for this game and it’s time for little me to sob in pain because I can’t choose faves xD
(I’ll do my three main mediums in separate lists because... yeah xD)
ART:
My Wintersong x Labyrinth crossover with Liesl. Ever since I read the first book early in January I had been dying to do something that could show my love for the movie and the book. At the end of the year I finally got around to work on the sketch I did sometime during inktober and omg it is NOT how I imagined it to look like but I AM PROUD!
My Tana Bach in chibi style. I wanted to try something new and I did so with this. Style and program haha. Really happy with it, even if it didn’t do so well lol
“You leave me breathless” aka steamy Nikolina. THERE IS NOT ENOUGH STEAMY (VISUAL) CONTENT FOR THEM AND I HAD THE NEED TO DO IT AND I DID!! Even if it took me way longer than usual because the lineart was out to get me alskjdalk. I also love how my brain has a go-to colour scheme for them XD
Feysand Sunset. I could hate it and this piece would still hit my activity every day lol. I’m really happy with it because the pose was so damn dynamic and I GOT IT! And the outfits too, and Rhys’ skin+hair. I was so nervous about getting it wrong, even if I used all the refs I could find on the fancast haha. A friend who had no idea of what this is about told me it DID look like he was middle-eastern and I was super happy because I was getting cross-eyed and unsure of everything. Also, I did a fancy background and sparkly dress :D ALL THE SPARKLES
Nikolina Wedding. SIMPLY PUT MY MAGNUS OPUS FOR THESE TWO. I had a concept, I achieved it! I absolutely love it. I had so much fun with the soft aesthetic and painting them. The clothes! I put more work into the details than anyone will notice unless they purchase the biggest print ever. But who careS??? Also, Alina’s hair!! I hit the nail in this piece and IT SHOWS!!!
EDITS:
My Eureka Character Aesthetics series. As unkown as this show is here, I still felt the need to work on something Big for it. I remembered how fun doing this project was for The 10th Kingdom, so I did it for this show too. I miscalculated how many I would have to do aslkda but I still had so much fun with it. It was TOUGH as heck at times to find pics to fit each character’s unique aesthetic and personality but I did it!! I got to the end of it with a series of edits that I’m super happy with. ALSO, the psd I made for it works so well for so many other edits??? I DID A THING!!
This Kileana edit. sure the third book let me down after the amazingness of books 1 and 2 of The Falconer but lately I’ve been in a huge Kiaran x Aileana feels mood and I had to do something for them. Something soft and focusing on that epic vow of Kiaran. EPIC ROMANTIC VOWS?? YES PLEASE!!
This Doraelin edit. Look, I love them, they’re soft and perfect. And I had to do something soft and (near)perfect for them!! Especially since it was a gift! I’m still in awe I did it so well haha. Also, those quotes of theirs are so... foreshadow-y. still offended the foreshadowing was tossed aside ¬.¬
This Lunar Chronicles aesthetic. Basically, LEVELING UP!! I grew so much in my aesthetics/picspams style since I started doing TLC edits, and this is one of my VERY BEST. I love the colours and how the pics work so well together alksdakh
The Five Great Queens (10th Kingdom) series that’s ongoing lol. I’m really happy with the whole project so far. But I’m currently stuck on the next queen and headcanons for her XD
BONUS: Fairytale AU for Kai x Cinder and Steamy Nikolina edit. I LOVE THEM.
WRITING:
She’s Magic. AU where Nikolai and Alina are illustionists/magicians(?). Basically an excuse to have both in a magic au hahaha. Think Celia x Marco from The Night Circus kind of magic romance. (Not that hardcore on the slow burn tho). I had so much fun with it. Y’all have no idea!
This Wolfinia one shot. I’m just really happy I got these two right haha. I love the way Wolf talks to Virginia, so unique and eager and honest :D
Unwrap Me. AU where Doraelin are married and ruling together and are just ACHING for some one-on-one Yulemas celebrations asldja. It’s here mostly because I hadn’t written them in ages and I was really happy with this self-indulgent au xD Plus, Dorian would totes pull that gift stunt ;D
Sappy Smutty Fics Fest. While I was so worn out of writing so much smut I had to Take a Break alskdha I had so much fun with it and the feedback?? I never got so many requests (and so varied!!) for a fic request game. Got quite a few that I’m happy with in it ;) I also still have one for Heartless, but I won’t write it until I reread the book. Hopefully I will in early 2019.
So This is Love. THE CINDERELLA AU FOR NIKOLINA THAT WAS JUST A HALLOWEEN ONE-SHOT AND TURNED INTO A LONG FIC!!! Saints I LOVED writing it. Thinking of this au for them brings me the biggest of grins and writing it did that too as well haha. I just... Nikolina and Cinderella AU, what a better match??? (Maybe a fake-relationship au hmmm)
tagging... @theleiaskywalker @newrcmantlcs @caradocdearborn @akivas @stupidape @williamsherondales @kimseaokjin @kestrel-of-herran @fullofgrief

Combining Wintersong's book cover (by S. Jae-Jones) with its sequel's cover (Shadowsong) and bits of a previous fanart (The End of the Beginning)~
Had this epic painterly image in my head. Not sure what happened. That's a lie; Lack of skill.
Not finished, but I ended up with too many layers for my low hardware specs to fluidly handle, and I wasn't willing to merge them so each save took an eternity with my cursor frozen on the screen... *rambles on and on* ...here's what's I would have liked to further do if I had not lost my patience: - Add 2 more trees for a total of 12 to match Goblin Grove - Fix tree branches - Do a better job of Goblin King's mirrored home/abbey and Liesl's village - Stick Goblin King's violin in the snowglobe...somewhere - Stick Liesl's music sheets (flying?) somewhere somehow too - Add fallen rose petals somewhere somehow - Cure my sparkle obsession
Um, this is why I kept going overboard with the sparkles...
So purdy looking... (100% zoom) *can’t resist the prettiness*
[Update Jan 22, 2018] Throwing $$$ at the screen? May I redirect you to Redbubble? (Now available for purchase.) Thanks in advance if you buy something~

March 22: Q & A
Holy buckets, based on the amount of food questions I’ve gotten, I will make an entire post dedicated to food in the very near future. Here’s some of my favorite questions!
(This week we went to a Mexican restaurant where Hayes, Kameron, and I bought 3 burgers, 2 tacos, a nachos plate, a pizza, and a piece of cake. When Luther is paying, we go all in.)
“I have a question: how are you affording all this stuff?” -Tracy Jaquette
This is a very very very valid question. To be completely honest, I’m mainly using my mom and dad’s credit card and they get mailed the bill (ha- only half joking!). My family and I have been saving for this experience pretty much my entire life, as going abroad has never been a “maybe/maybe not” for me but a “definitely- I want that” type of deal. In addition to saving, my extended family have been chipping in by helping to purchase little travel-needs, weekend excursions off the island, and my flights to and from America. Luther supports me greatly in that all of my scholarships transferred over with me so the comprehensive program fee is my remaining Luther tuition (after financial aid is added) + $1000 dollars (I’m on my own for my flights and spending money beyond a $70 weekly food stipend Luther gives me). Finally, I’ve been stupidly frugal while here. To fly around Europe is cheap (I spent about 30 euro to get to Greece and back), when traveling I stay in hostels (dorm-like hotels with many beds and few amenities) and pack many of my meals/make my meals in the flats. I always ask for student discounts and kids meals when I’m out. Every euro counts!
“Quality of the classes. I get that there’s in class and out of class education going on. It sounds as though the benefits are split 85:15 with out of class being the most helpful.” -Steve Woods
“Is the percentage of religious participation as low as the rest of Europe?” -Steve Woods
“Is there much of an environmental ethic? Parks, clean waters, no litter, etc. (Greece was horrible for litter and polluted harbors.)” -Steve Woods
These questions are actually all related! Out of class time is certainly beneficial but I would say in terms of education, it’s more of a 60/40 split (out of class is still more beneficial, but not that much of a split). I’m taking two courses on Catholicism (For those in Malta who do practice religion, they’re more than likely Catholic. With a cultural history and identity so ingrained with Catholicism, it helps to have a basic understanding of the religion), a Maltese contemporary ethics class (we examine ethical issues facing the country including religious issues, welfare systems, healthcare, immigration, business, diversity, etc...), and finally a history course (we literally started with the cavemen and are currently working our way through the medieval period). So because of these classes, I am better able to understand the layout of the island, the people, and I am able to answer your other questions!
According to our ethics course, in the 70′s church attendance was at 84%, and steadily decreased to 43% by the early 2000′s. This is due to a political shift in the 1970′s that pretty much is the equivalent to our “Separation of Church and State”. After a long staunchly Catholic history, the passage of laws (decriminalisation of homosexuality & adultery, laws based on gender, divorce, lgbtq, womens rights, etc) by a non-Catholic government in addition to how interconnected Malta has become with the rest of the world (which consequently has made people more outspoken and opinionated on issues of morality) are said to be the main reasons that Maltese church attendance has dropped.
In terms of environmental ethics, before Malta’s 2004 entrance to the European Union, it had outlawed plastic bottles and established an extensive glass recycling program. However when joining the EU, they had to abandon their anti-plastic ways for legal reasons but many of the products on the island still come in recyclable glass bottles. The streets are messy but that could just be attributed to the waste removal system as well as the fact that this is a city. Products on the shelves are marked if they’re bio-friendly. Compared to other cities, it seems to really be progressive overall. It’s certainly not perfect and there is a hefty amount of trash on the streets.
“Any weird animal encounters?” -Steve Woods
I took my shoes off last night to move a big crab.
(I almost lost a toe to this big guy because I took my shoes off. What this picture doesn’t show is my peers yelling at me telling me to run away as the crab was in attack mode)
“What is one thing you're gonna miss most when you are back in the States?” -Nam Nguyen
“If you could never go back, what would you miss the most?” -Natalie Hackbarth
This was a tough question to answer that had me stumped but I’ve decided that I can not capture with words what it is that I am going to miss most. I am simply going to miss Malta. If I had to choose, I will miss the walking the most. I am definitely going to miss the necessity of walking everywhere, the weather that allows the walking, the people, families, and dogs I see when I’m walking, and the adventures I embark on each time I walk out of the flat door. The large lots and spread out cities in America do not compare to the tightly condensed and claustrophobic atmosphere I have learned to love here in Malta. Not having Walmart or Target at my fingertips can be frustrating, but the adventures I’ve gone on in search of a single item are valuable and exciting and I certainly will miss that part of Malta.
“Where is Gort?” -Joshua Lutz
Here, enjoying the sunshine.
(Gort, my trusty sloth aquired on my Mission Trips summer job is here with me in Malta, enjoying the wine culture as much as I am!)
“The real question: what's your average Fitbit score?” -Liesl Allen
Painfully high.
(These are averages- my personal record while in Malta was a Sunday in February when I got 35,000 steps)
“Favorite phrase to spout in Maltese...” -Margo Nelson
“Mela”. A Maltese word that means: whatever, yes, no, maybe, sure, okay, although, alright, therefore, um, but, so, then, well (etc). We hear it between every word in Maltese conversation.
“Have you gotten lost in Malta yet, and if so, how did you find your way? (idk i'm just a sucker for mildly embarrassing stories)” -Lexa Krug
Girl I get lost every single fricken day. The best moments are when I finally swallow my pride and admit to my companions that I have no clue where I am and they inform me that we are a block away from the flat (sigh).
“Oddest encounter with a boy human.” -Avery Mossman “You find yourself a nice Maltan boy?” -Chris Kim
There are no men on this island. I haven’t seen a single male in 3 months. What’s a boy?
“To someone going on this trip next year, what is one useful piece of advice you would give me?” -Wyatt Anians
To take the words of StoryPeople author & Decorah artist, Brian Andreas, “Say yes. Whatever it is, say yes with your whole heart & simple as it sounds, that’s all the excuse life needs to grab you by the hands & start to dance.” Let life take your hands. Do everything you thought you never would. When someone asks you to go to the new lebanese grill, get happy hour drinks, go out for St. Patricks day, whatever- just say yes. Go with it, dude. Message me when you start packing (slippers are a must. As is stick deodorant).
(I said “yes” to hitting the town during St. Patty’s day and ended up in the midst of a massive street party- much larger than I ever anticipated. I had so much fun though!)
“If your trip to Malta was a reality show what would your tagline be and what would your theme song be?” -Natalie Hackbarth
My tagline, “Sorry, I was napping.”
My theme song would probably just be an array of screaming.
“What, if anything, have you learned about yourself while there?” -Chloe Grube
I thought I was strong before this, but this has given me a whole new resilience I never knew I had. I’ve survived every one of my worst days. I know my posts make it seem like I’m having the time of my life, but there are ups and downs. Our group has quite a bit of interpersonal drama, I miss my friends and family painfully, and I haven’t gotten any decent alone time in about three months. This is an incredibly challenging and stressful adventure but I wouldn’t trade it for anything.
(This is my roomie, Maddie. She’s been an amazing friend and source of comfort to me when things get rough)
“What is one highlight of the experience?” -Joan Francois
One highlight would certainly be Rome. Rome was a dream come true and exactly what I was expecting from this trip. It opened my eyes to a new culture and I got to see the things I’ve been dreaming about. Additionally, I had a lot of very very very good food.
(just look at me cheesing in The Colosseum!!!!)
Thanks for your support and all of the awesome questions- Some remained unanswered as you guys had some really tough ones and this was already a really long post! On Friday, I embark on an adventure to England all by myself- yes, two days after a terrorist attack. Yes, I am going to London, yes, I am going to the location of the attack, and yes, I’m scared. However, I know the risk of getting hurt is small and I will not let my fears hold me back from exploring the world. That being said, send your prayers, good vibes, etc my direction as I travel.

A Dog's Journey Blu-ray Review - Dogs are friends forever!
New Post has been published on http://doggietrainingclasses.com/a-dogs-journey-blu-ray-review-dogs-are-friends-forever/
A Dog's Journey Blu-ray Review - Dogs are friends forever!
Kidzworld checked out the Blu-ray for A Dog’s Journey. This heartwarming and emotionally-charged film comes home with some really fun and entertaining extra features. Read our cool Blu-ray review!
By: Lynn Barker
The book and movie A Dog’s Purpose continues in A Dog’s Journey. Smart and sweet doggie Bailey (voiced again by Josh Gad) loves living on the Michigan farm of his “boy,” Ethan (Dennis Quaid) and Ethan’s wife Hannah (Marg Helgenberger) who are grandparents of very young granddaughter C.J. She has a mutual lovefest with Bailey. However, C.J.’s very negative mom Gloria (Betty Gilpin) had rather have a music career than raise a baby on a boring farm and moves away with little C.J. When Bailey is passing on and ready for a new life, he promises Ethan to find C.J. and protect her at all costs. Can he keep this promise?
A Dog’s Journey Clip – “Unconditional Love”
Living on the Farm
When Hannah’s son Henry dies in an auto accident, his wife Gloria and baby C.J. come to live with Hannah and Ethan. Gloria is far from a friendly, attentive mom, however and refuses to leave C.J. with Hannah while she goes to pursue a singing career.

Instead, after blaming a few bad parenting moments on dog Bailey, she takes C.J. and hits the road. When elderly Bailey is dying, Ethan asks him to come back, find C.J. and protect her. We know Bailey will.

Another Life
Doggie Bailey is reincarnated as a beagle puppy named Molly whose brother Rocky is adopted by a cute Asian boy named Trent. He knows the now tween-aged C.J.

She wants to adopt Molly but knows mom Gloria hates dogs. C.J. hides Molly and since Gloria drinks too much and is out a lot, she doesn’t notice the dog for a long time. Molly and C.J. meet and play with Trent and Rocky. Finally mom discovers Molly but reluctantly lets C.J. keep her. As they go through high school Trent would like C.J. to be his girlfriend. Hannah and Ethan try to visit but Gloria turns them away telling C.J. that they tried to steal the money dad left for her.

Bad Boyfriend
18-year-old C.J. (Kathryn Prescott) who now wants to be a singer/songwriter, meets a low-life but cute guy named Shane (Jake Manley) who is into booze, drugs and partying. For a while C.J. tries to go along but when a party is busted by the cops, she is sent to jail. Trent takes care of Molly. C.J.’s community service sentence at a facility training dogs to sniff out cancer ends in Molly being a natural at it. When Shane grabs C.J., attacking her, she tells her drunk mom, who couldn’t care less. Mom also tells her she has no inheritance from her dad. Mom spent it a long time ago! C.J. is shattered. She leaves home in the family car only to be followed and chased by angry Shane in his car. A wreck follows and little Molly is killed.

New Life
Bailey/Molly reincarnates this time as a huge mastiff dog called Big Dog by his gas station owner Joe. He has almost given up on finding C.J. but fate puts her at the gas station on her way to start a music career in New York City. She has no idea that he is the reincarnated Molly and goes on her way.

Sad Big Dog leads a nice life with Joe but ends up dying before ever finding C.J. again. This time he comes back as a feisty tiny terrier puppy dubbed Max. Max is up for adoption but won’t let anyone but C.J. adopt him. He snaps at everyone and is almost scheduled for euthanasia when he spots C.J., chases after her and leaps into her arms. She adopts him.

Another Bad Boyfriend
Trying to make it as a singer while dog walking to earn money, Molly lives with her uptight, critical boyfriend Barry (Kevin Claydon) who has his own dog Duke and keeps telling C.J. she’ll never make it as a singer. She still has stage fright and won’t sing in public.

Max leads C.J. to run into Trent (Henry Lau) who has moved to NYC from London and has a girlfriend Liesl (Daniella Barbosa) who is very possessive of him. Barry and C.J. break up and she sleeps on friends’ couches finally ending up staying in Trent’s guest room.
Illness for Trent
Little Max smells cancer on Trent. His girlfriend ditches him and it is C.J. who sees him through treatment to health. Mom Gloria has cleaned up her act, meets with a reluctant C.J. who can’t forgive her. Mom encourages her to bite the bullet and sing in public.
C.J. finally performs in publicCourtesy of Universal Studios
With Trent’s support, she sings at a club and is a big success. After reading some letters Gloria gave her from her dad, C.J. wants to visit Ethan and Hannah at their farm.

A Happy Ending?
While C.J., Trent and Max are visiting the farm, Ethan senses that Max is really Bailey and proves it to C.J. who realizes that the other dogs in her life were Bailey as well. She also realizes that she actually loves Trent. Will their relationship blossom? What is in store for Max next and what’s going to happen to C.J., Trent and her family? What is Bailey’s eventual fate?

Special Extra Features
This Blu-ray/DVD/Digital set looks and sounds great and contains a bunch of really enjoyable extra features.
10 Deleted or Extended Scenes are all wonderful and are either adorable, dog-centered or build the characters well. All are very worth watching!
Young C.J. is fun-lovingCourtesy of Universal Studios
Gag Reel is a hoot. It is focused on dogs doing cute things on set that aren’t part of the script, dogs licking faces etc., Dennis Quaid who plays Ethan, joking with kids and dogs, a bug attack etc. Very silly fun to watch.
Working with Dogs –all of the film’s major actors tell us why they love working with dogs. Filmmakers and some actors bring their dogs to set. Dog trainers talk about training the film’s dogs with love and trust and they give tips on training your dog. Dennis Quaid tells us how he felt a special bond with the dog playing Bailey. Soooo sweet.
Ethan and Bailey always playCourtesy of Universal Studios
A Dog’s Sequel – Josh Gad, the voice of Bailey in two films says he cried on reading the script. The other actors talk about their characters. The actress who plays meanie Gloria tells us she actually loves dogs and found it hard to be at all mean to them in the movie. Director Gail Mancuso on the story’s drama for dogs and people. Nice.
Everyone’s Best Friend presents all the actors talking about their personal dogs at home and the bond they feel with them. Some of them came to set. One actress has cats and dogs at home, one actor can’t wait to adopt a dog etc. Awwww.
Grandma and Bailey play with little C.J.Courtesy of Universal Studios
A Healing Journey concentrates on the reincarnation story with filmmakers and the book author talking about the possibility that animals can “come back” in other animals and our feeling that connection. The film helps kids, teens and even adults deal with the passing of a beloved pet. Cool.
Scoring the Journey deals with the film’s very touching soundtrack and a young pianist who loves dogs and provided some of the best of the film’s score. So cool!
Audio Commentary with Director Gail Mancuso is interesting as the director, who loves dogs, tells us about the scenes and filming process, working with the dogs etc.
Wrapping Up
As we said in our review when this film was in theaters, the movie is a mixed bag; very entertaining and heartwarming but with a lot of emotional push and pull that makes us feel like we are a dog on a leash being jerked through the lives and especially the passings of lots of cute dogs… there are four of them!

If you can rally and root for the “next dog” each time Bailey passes then you will enjoy the film.
Max/Bailey is glad CJ. and Trevor are togetherCourtesy of Universal Studios
The extras provided on this Blu-ray/DVD/Digital set are wonderful and upbeat. They are so warm, funny and cuddly that they make us go up to four stars on this take home version of the film.

A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes
Sunday. June 3, 2018.
We started early for the castles, passing many a glacial lake and river along the way. We arrived after yet another brief nap (did I mention that napping is crucial to surviving any road trip no matter the location?) and a good deal of sneezing. The streets were swarming with people, clamoring for food, souvenirs, bathrooms, and pictures in every language you could imagine. The cacophony is hard to forget. As with any good trip, our very first stop was the restrooms before we began to make our way up the hill toward the museum and Alpsee (German for glacial lake).
One very important point to remember is this: you MUST book your tours at least two to three months before you plan to visit Höheshwangau and Neuschwanstein. Tours fill up incredibly quickly, and if you wait to try and book your tour until you arrive in Germany, you will be sadly disappointed. If you just want to visit and do not want to tour, take the horse-drawn carriage ride up the mountain to see Neuschwanstein and bask in the beauty of the amazing castle. But, in my opinion, you will want to take tours of both castles – they do ‘bundle’ deals. I promise you will not regret it.
It was a perfectly warm and sunny day, yet quite pleasant in the shade. So, by the time we reached the picturesque lake, I could not help but scamper down to the shoreline, toss off my shoes, and wade in as far as my jeans would allow. The water was the most crystal blue you have seen in your entire life, and I would have honestly been completely content to spend the rest of my day right there in the cooling water. But alas, the Disney-esque castles were calling to me like the familiar siren call that opens every iconic franchise film.
After my mini adventure into the great wide lake, we entered the museum. Perhaps the least noble monument in this particular mountain range, this museum contains artifacts and history about both castles and their creator, Ludwig II and his extensive family. The young king assumed the throne at the age of eighteen, following the untimely death of his beloved father, Ludwig I. The young prince, turned king was quite the dreamer and both of his pet projects reflect his head being very much in the clouds.
After the museum, we started up one of the many slopes that led to Ludwig’s first construction and summer home – Höheshwangau. The small but lovely yellow palace emits sunshine and sits atop a mountain directly across the way from his second, and most well-known project – Neuschwanstein. His summer home offers one of two perfect views of the “Disney castle”, right outside Ludwig’s bedroom window. The smaller palace features medieval décor, lofty ballrooms and opera stages, as well as many stunning views of the surrounding vistas. After our first tour, we headed back down the hill into the little village below for lunch and an ice cream break before our next tour. We munched on sharp, grilled bratwursts and freshly baked perfectly salted cheese pretzels.
After our lunch snack, we couldn’t help but grab a couple of ice cream cones and sat on the edge of the lake enjoying our sweet afternoon snack. Soon it was time to make our way up the next hill for our tour of Neuschwanstein. And after watching carriage after carriage pass us by, we couldn’t resist purchasing the 6-Euro tickets to travel up the hill in true style. George and Mona also joined us on our trip up the hill, and we all squeezed into the front row of the carriage behind Maria and Liesl, our sweet horses. Soon enough, our carriage dropped us off where the hill became too narrow and steep for our trusty equine companions and we were just a short 10-minute walk away from being at the base of one of the most famous castles in the entire world.
With still a little bit of time before our tour was to begin, we took advantage of the five-Euro deal the little gift shop was running on a cappuccino, pastry of your choice, and a collectible mug with a vignette of the castle on it. We sipped and enjoyed the sweet coffee and fresh waffle beneath the stunning castle that inspired Walt Disney to build the castle of his dreams for his beloved Disneyland. Time was soon up, and we found ourselves in the lengthy queue to begin the never-ending trek up the castle’s multitude of staircases. When we finally reached the third floor, we exited into King Ludwig’s living quarters. The ornate displays of Gothic architecture were stunning and flawlessly crafted, certainly, no expense was spared in his most favored project.
The ballroom is the largest in all of Bavaria and closely resembles that of Wartburg Castle’s own, which we had seen just the day before. Scenes of Richard Wagner’s many operas decorated the walls – King Ludwig was arguably his biggest fan. And as quickly as our guided tour began, it ended, and we were released from the herds to meander through the unfinished bedrooms on the second floor of the castle. After 17 years of tireless construction, the project was left unfinished following Ludwig II’s shocking death. Many rumors still exist, but historians are still unsure as to whether the young dreamer was murdered or committed suicide after too many years of unkindly being nicknamed “Ludwig the Mad”. The young king and his personal psychiatrist were both found drowned in a lake one day not long before his 41st birthday.
After touring each floor, I scampered outside on my own to snap some pictures from the front of the castle and from the one bridge that offers the other perfect view of the entire castle. After making my way around the entire palace, I found mom and we began our descent down the hill to the village below once more. There is not a bad time of year to visit the gorgeous castles hidden in the mountains of Bavaria, but I may be partial to the magic of a lushly green summer.
One more stop awaited us before our trip to our hotel for the evening – Hopfensee. Just one of the hundreds of glacial lakes and rivers that color the Bavarian countryside, the stunning lake boasts little sailboats and a host of wonderful wildlife. Much like the Alpsee, I wish I could have stayed there forever. There is nothing quite like the perfect stillness and peace that the little lake offered. If you pass by, stop and get out of your car and just sit there in perfect silence, taking every ounce of beauty in.
We made it to our hotel for the evening in Oberammergau and enjoyed an exploratory stroll around the quaint little town before we settled in for dinner with the rest of our group. I’ve only known these traveling companions of mine, besides Doc and my Mom, for about two weeks and yet I could not imagine a better group to have toured around Europe with. I cannot believe we only have one more day until we leave this magic of Europe and fly back to the states and our respective homes. After deciding on the daily special with far too much food than a human should consume, we gathered together in one of the suites and had a wonderful evening devotional and time of recollection on the mercies and blessings of the Lord. We considered what it truly meant to be blessed in the sight of God from Psalm 1-2 and spent a wonderful evening of fellowship together with our sweet new friends.
The cool of night had settled on our little bed and breakfast at the base of the Alps and it seemed if we were right back where we began our amazing trip, surrounded by lush green mountains with friends by our side and the sound of nature rustling around us. Many of these days will be permanently emblazoned in my memory and imagination, but I truly hope I never forget this day or these kind friends who have traveled the world with me.

CREEP RELEASES FULL LENGTH ALBUM “VINDICTA.”
[DISCLAIMER] this is for roleplay purposes only, and is not in any way real or claiming to be.
ALBUM TITLE: Vindicta RELEASE DATE: April 13th, 2018 GENRE: Retro pop LANGUAGES: Korean TRACK COUNT: 10
[ VIEW ALBUM PLAYLIST ]
TRACK LIST: Our Little Secret {TITLE TRACK} WERK Woman Scorned Mad Love Player Lie One-Sided Love I Can’t Even Dream Anonymous Okay
Following their traditions of Friday the 13th, Creep releases their full album “VINDICTA,” seeming to be a continuation from their previous comback PECCATUM, which showed the girls as the 7 deadly sins in a journey through hell.
VINDICTA continues the story, further revealing the reason to each girl’s death and connection to each sin. Each death, though different to all the girls, seems to be connected by one thing: an insane male had taken their life. From being abused, poisoned, shot, and sentenced to death for self defense, the girl’s stories tackle the all too real problems women face, risking the loss of their life for telling a man “no.” The story not only is told in their trademark horror way, but is done so in hopes to bring awareness to what women fear and go through.
With every purchase of the album, a photobook and small, yellow envelope is included. Inside the envelope contains seven documents, all mimicking autopsy reports to each girl and sin.
Koemi, Pride: Shot and killed after repeatedly denying the sexual advances of a man she had tried to befriend. The man claimed she was “too prideful and selfish to give him a chance.”
Liesl, Wrath: Trialed for 13 counts of murdering men whom had over years tried to assault her. Pleaded not guilty, but was sentenced to death.
Helen, Gluttony: ingested poison given to her by an ex-boyfriend shortly after she had ended their relationship.
Selene, Sloth: murdered by a male in a fit of impatient rage for not agreeing to sleep with him, claiming she “lead him on and acted too slowly.”
Sunhwa, Greed: Actively and openly dated men for their money, albeit one relationship had gone south quickly, and after an argument was found beaten to death.
Eunchae, Envy: stalked by a male whom had grown jealous and angry she had picked someone else over him, until it ultimately lead to her death.
Soo, Lust: Actively slept around with men and had no cares to tie someone down. Ended up with someone all too possessive, who killed her because she wouldn’t stay with him.
NETIZEN COMMENTS [ +2104, -754] I always get excited for Friday the 13ths, Creep never disappoints ! [ +1240 -445] It’s so nice to hear a new sound from the group, they really master everything they do, don’t they ? I’m seriously amazed, even all the B-tracks are good. This is a seriously good album. [ +420 -87] It’s so good to see them again, I hope they get to promote this album really well. It’s got such a deep meaning. [ +324 -81] I hope their music will serve as a wake up call. Women go through so much to appease others, and we go through so much more just to try and stay safe in environments men don’t even have to think about …. Thank you Creep, you’re really my role model. [+78 -784] It’s great they’re tying real world problems into their comeback, but I don’t really like that it attacks men so much. Not all men are bad. This jusrt sounds like they’re angry at any exes. Should we really listen to what they’re trying to say when their leader is a criminal and two of their members are bullies?? [ +21 -74] Not only is the title track a new sound, but there’s even new sounds throughout the whole album. They seriously outdid themselves, I’m amazed.
