every time i think about. liar game really went like, we can all win together but only if no one tries to cheat others by only thinking of personal gain. like that really IS the best way to maximize the profit for everyone because this way they get the most money out of the agency. by trying only thinking of individual gains and cheating others and lying it lets the agency get to keep more money that's how the agency profits and if we all band together we can all win together and truly maximize the profits this way. by working together and not selfishly only thinking of oneself.

nao was preaching that from the very beginning and it got dismissed by many players as naive and idealistic and wouldn't work (and got dismissed by some manga readers/j drama watchers too like i have seen some nao hate that made me want to fight). and while it took some maneuvering on akiyama AND nao's part (it's a team effort, yes akiyama came up with most of the strategy but nao was very crucial to pulling that all off as well) to get people to go with the plan they had envisioned, she literally has been right since very early on!!! not only about how everyone could make it through by cooperating together, but also as she pointed out perceptively in the 3-3 revival game and later bid poker, that by cooperating together they could stop the money from falling into the agency's hands, that ensures the players don't give that money to the agency if they just cooperate. it really IS about working together as players and understanding that the agency inflicting this game on them is the enemy they should all work together against, that ensures the most money to stay with the players!!! she is RIGHT!

nao with her goal of saving everyone and idea of getting everyone to work together to do so, recognizing the true enemy is the agency, and akiyama whose goal is also to take down the agency. they've always been the ones with visions and they were right. it really is about working together and placing trust in each other that they can all truly win the game. (and in the final game, he placed a level of trust in the other players too, as he explained it - putting the trust in people. it's not all just manipulation and clever schemes on this part, it's also about the people, as he told yokoya.) it's just so good.

the way nao gradually convinced people to her side and belief is also so good. fukunaga went from thinking nao as naive to truly believing in her, trusting her - when they were in separate games, she also helped out another girl in her game and told her about nao, about how nao inspired her to do this. the character growth is just, so good. akagi as well - from contraband game's defection to working together later. she truly has inspired so many people, some very cynical in the beginning.

just, excellent theme excellent characters liar game you will always be famous to me.

Edit: Looks like there's three scenes that were added to the tankobon version that weren't there in the magazine version. "Spoilers" below. Not fully translated because I do not have the patience to do a full translation with my level of Japanese, but the 'jist' of each scene.

A continuation of the conversation between Leronira and Rabelais. I believe it's implying that Leronira is Akiyama's old professor (Professor Okabe from the Roots of A stories) and was the one responsible for getting him into the game.

The actual ending scene where Nao starts crying. There's one panel changed from the magazine version (Nao's no longer in the panel with everyone cheering) where she cries from all the stress she's been through, and Akiyama tells her its okay to cry and hugs her while she does so.

A scene with Nao talking to her father while they clean out some of his old belongings. Her father talks about letting go of the past (I think) and at the end of the of the scene, her father talks about one particular box that has to be thrown away. The last panel of that scene shows the box with Artier's/Tad Miyagi's mask peeking out.

i love love love akiyama shinichi……. he’ll be like this plan of mine that sacrifices me and me only, i’m NOT doing this out of the goodness of my heart, i’m not that nice a person, kanzaki is kind and she wants to save everyone but i’m not kind like her. i am being strategic, this is the plan that can hit the enemy hardest and bring them down, this is how we can bring down this terrible agency. it’s all strategic on my part and i’m not nice or kind or altruistic. don’t misinterpret me.
