Zayn hit Los Angeles for a solo show last night (January 29th) and eagle-eyed fans quickly spotted a well-known observer – Louis Tomlinson had showed up to give his support, and was watching quietly in the crowd.

Seemingly Zayn was made aware of this, and he gave Louis an onstage shout-out: “Alright so tonight’s kind of special, I know a friend of mine is here to support me tonight, he’s somewhere here I don’t want to give his location away but Louis’ here…”

Zayn Malik has spoken in the past about his onstage performance anxiety, but having Louis in the crowd seemed to settle him – he dedicated the closing section of the set to his One Direction brother: “Last couple songs, real special for Louis yeah…”

For his part, Louis Tomlinson has settled into a beautiful arc in his solo career, including potent songwriting, uplifting new artists, and some wonderful live shows. CLASH last spotted him in-person on-site at Glastonbury festival – he brought his own television to watch the England game.

ONE Direction cemented their status in pop's global elite as New York screamed for them throughout their sell-out show at iconic Madison Square Garden.

Two years ago Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Zayn Malik, Niall Horan and Liam Payne were preparing to perform in the final of the UK's X Factor -- where they would finish third.

But on Monday night 20,000 fans converged from every corner of the globe to watch their biggest gig yet on the hallowed Big Apple stage.

Niall, 19, told the screaming crowd: "This is the best night of our lives. You guys have travelled from all around the world and we cannot believe what has happened here tonight. Thank you so much."

The arena has hosted some of the most memorable gigs in history, including shows by Led Zeppelin, The Stones and The Doors.

And while One Direction might not match these legendary acts for musical talent, their march to global superstardom could be the most mind-blowing of them all.

The lads have broken almost as many records as hearts on their way to becoming the world's biggest boyband. Their album Up All Night was the first debut release by a British group to go straight in at number one in the US -- an achievement The Beatles could not manage.

And their second album Take Me Home flew to the top of the charts in 35 countries last month. They have flogged more than 15 million records worldwide and sold out Monday's gig in less than a minute.

Zayn, 19, summed up the band's excitement as he told the crowd: "I'm overwhelmed. I'm from a small town in Bradford.

Things like this don't happen to people like me. I owe it all to you."

Louis, 20, added: "It's hard to comprehend how far we have come." Cheeky Harry, 18, said: "This place is huge. It's incredible." And Liam, 19, added: "I see a Swedish flag and Brazilian flag. It's just amazing."

The band entered to deafening screams. By the time they finished first song Up All Night, a pair of knickers had been thrown at Harry.

These were followed over the evening by several more pairs, numerous bras -- and an iPhone.

Highlights included latest single Little Things, for which they were joined by the track's writer, Ed Sheeran, 21. And when they finished their encore with What Makes You Beautiful, even the dads in the crowd were mouthing the words.

They don't have choreographed dance moves -- but that is part of the attraction for fans. They even break halfway through shows to answer questions. And they are remarkably at ease on stage for five lads put together by X Factor boss Simon Cowell, 53, after failing as solo singers. Fans -- who call themselves Directioners -- had queued outside for 37 hours for tickets. Stephanie Marusack, 18, and sister Megan, 21, got seats in the second row after camping.

Stephanie sobbed as she said: "I'm very emotional. We slept here in the rain." Megan said: "I love them because they are so normal. They don't put themselves on a pedestal. It makes it so much easier to connect." Melissa Grebe, Megan Farrell and Kayla Dee, all 18, and Kayla's sister Erin, 14, were wearing specially made shirts. Megan said: "We love everything about them. Their hair, their voices, their looks. Especially their hair."

As the gig ended Harry told the crowd: "I have never been so proud."

The band celebrated later at New York's Hudson Hotel with family, friends and music execs.

Harry introduced superstar lover Taylor Swift, 22, to his mum Anne Cox, 44.

Liam was joined by long-term partner Danielle Peazer, 24. Zayn by Little Mix girlfriend Perrie Edwards, 19, and Louis by girlfriend Eleanor Calder, 20. Single Niall was lapping up the attention of admirers.

And as if the gig hadn't quite sealed their status, New York also hosted a global fan convention for the boys yesterday. Some had scooped golden tickets for it in a contest -- and it was clear 1D were the hottest ticket in the Big Apple.

MOST blokes would need a couple of steak dinners to persuade them to watch a rom-com with the missus - let alone do a routine from one in front of pals.

But that certainly isn't the case for HARRY STYLES.

Inseparable The pair have been inseparable since they went public with their relationship last month.

After spending three nights together in New York, the couple took Taylor's private jet to the UK to make One Direction's performance at Capital FM's Jingle Bell Ball on Saturday.

Since then, they've been holed up in a romantic cottage on the outskirts of Manchester.

A source said: "They've been there since Sunday.

"Taylor's management and security are in a nearby hotel with instructions that she will call them when she's ready to leave."

Surely they've nailed that Dirty Dancing lift by now.

Louis had a very public messy time with women before you were a fan so not every 1D fan would agree with you about him being "the only one respectful to women". They're all men, they've all had their moments.

In 2015 Louis broke up with his gf and started hooking up with women right away, got Briana pregnant by June but continued publicly hooking up with other women all summer on London nights out and at Glastonbury before starting to date Damielle in Sept. Dated her for 16 months, then suddenly dropped her between Xmas & NYE while she was in England with him to go back to his previous gf.

Louis' fans responded to this by denying any of it was real and saying it was"stunts" to closet him. And I think newer fans still don't know or believe it ever happened.

Before you say I'm in any way comparing this to abuse allegations: I am not. This is in response to you saying how respectful he is compared to all the others. It's a low bar.

A single man hooking up with women (if what you're saying is even true) what a crime 😯. You're as delulu as larries btw. You don't even know what was happening then and yet coming to those conclusions. None of these women said anything that implies he hurt them and went behind their back or anything btw. He's still the only one respectful to women from that band. One is a certified abuser, the other only talks about women as sexual objects in his music and never even aknowledged his multiple girlfriends and lets his fans attack and harrass them all the time, a cheater... The third one was charged by his ex and her mother for harrassment and the last one kept flirting with a taken woman in dms and made her so uncomfortable her man had to come on Twitter to tell him to stop (ofc he and the gf were attacked so bad he had to delete) and slept with Ellie while she was in a relationship with Ed Sh*eran. And not only compared to the 1D guys bc you're right on one thing the bar is very low for them. Louis was raised by the most wonderful woman (may she rest in peace). Louis is so respetful towards his female fans (yk he'll never take advantage and slide into their dms for explicit shit), never objectified them in his songs, treated his gfs with the respect they deserve and always aknowledged them even though he knows he'll be attacked and hated by larries forever for that, loves his sisters and treats them so well, he used to support Liam bc he's unwell mentally but the moment the abuse allegations started, he dropped him (and we know how hard it is for him to let go of his stubborn loyalty).... After the ferry incident we were back in England. It was time for Oasis to film the Supersonic music video. The song would be released the same month. The band had fun filming it. They even got asked to dance and when I heard this, I burst out laughing, perfectly knowing that nor Liam nor Noel would do it and insult the guy, who asked for it. Literally like he had been begging them to do it. Supersonic was their first single, that Noel had written in practically 30 minutes. Oasis recorded it the same day. To record it we went to the Pink Museum in Liverpool. And now, it was the first time I ever came back to London since I was born.

April 11th 1994- London:

During a morning and a whole afternoon, they shot the music video. After this, not complicated to guess where we went: the pub.

We drank pint after pint before going to buy something to eat and to a nightclub. The guys were only sitting drinking, Liam being his inner Casanova, and Noel alone in the corner, talking with Bonehead. I was tipsy and silent. I was discretely admiring Noel from time to time, telling myself how good looking he was, how I loved his blue eyes, his smile, and his laugh, how confident he looked, how the girl that came towards him… WAIT WHAT?! What did this bitch wanted?

I remind you I was tipsy, and I didn’t even recognize the waitress.

That’s when the song, the perfect one blasted through the speakers. It was MY moment. I got up so fast Guigsy looked at me with worry.

In fact, I had walked to the dancefloor, dancing a slow with myself on Always by Bon Jovi, mouthing the lyrics, eyes closed. That’s why I didn’t notice Noel’s gaze on mine. That’s also why I was surprised when I felt one hand on my hip and another one taking my hand. I jumped and almost fell.

I was tipsy and unconsciously telling him with a song that I was still in love with him when mouthing “And I will love you, baby, always, and I'll be there forever and a day, always, I'll be there 'til the stars don't shine, ‘til the heavens burst and the words don't rhyme, and I know when I die, you'll be on my mind, and I'll love you, always.”

He smiled more and more, thinking it was cute. And he approached his face more and more from mine. And as we were about to kiss, I felt a hand pinch my bottom. I jumped, and Noel who witnessed it, saw the guy behind me laugh. He let go of me and walked towards him.

Oi, what did ye just do ye fucker?

Oh come on, it was just a joke! The man answered

Well we’ll fucking see if me fist in yer fucking face is also a joke ye asshole!

As Noel was about to punch the man, I put myself in front of him, putting my hand on his torso to stop him.

Noel, no! It’s not worth it.

He stopped, sending a dark look to the man, then looked at me.

The Y/N I know wouldn’t have stopped me and would even have smashed his face in!

He started walking away.

I just fucking want peace Noel, can’t you understand this?

And this sentence broke me. Tears invaded my eyes, I couldn’t answer. Maybe I wasn’t cured yet. Because flashbacks came back and I fell on my knees, crying and hyperventilating.

Noel had gone to the loo, but Liam saw me and ran to me.

Y/N ? Y/N it’s okay, yer okay.

Noel wasn’t back yet, and Liam took me in his arms, directing himself outside so there would be less noise, and so I could get some calm and fresh air. He sat me on a chair before hugging me tightly.

After shooting the video for Supersonic, we were back in studio in Cornwall to record and mix the last songs for Definitely Maybe. Oasis were getting popular thanks to the song and I was sure the album would work. I saw the passion they were all bringing to it, and Liam had an incredible voice. When they weren’t recording or drinking, they were playing football. I men WE were playing football.

I was in Noel’s and Guigsy’s team whereas Liam was teaming with Bonehead and Tony.

And let’s say Noel and I still had some techniques from when we were younger. So we kicked their asses. And you know how Liam is. He’s a very bad player. So on several occasions, he had fun knocking us damn, so that he could score a goal.

And it rained. A lot. There was a powercut, so we had to light ourselves by candlelight. Liam was probably still at the pub, while Noel and I locked ourselves in the studio. He was strumming his guitar and I read the book about the Beatles, the one he was reading on the ferry to Amsterdam. That’s when inspiration came to him, and he started playing a melody. The one that would later become Acquiesce. I already heard him playing it before, but nothing concrete. There wasn’t any lyrics yet.

Came with a new song? I asked

I know. I keep it in me head. I don’t have lyrics. Might not be the time yet.

Don't Look Back In Anger appears to have double meaning for British supergroup Oasis. It's not only the title of the band's current single, but also the mantra of Paul Gallagher, the older brother of notorious band members Noel and Liam. "I mean, if it helps one person, then it's done its job," says Gallagher of his book, Brothers: From Childhood To Oasis, which details the three siblings' violent childhood at the hands of their brutish, mean-spirited father. "There's other people growing up in the same environment -- the only difference is they haven't got two brothers who are the biggest rock and roll stars in the world." Brothers, which was only released in Canada two weeks ago, is already a huge success in England, where it's sold 45,000 copies since mid-September. It helped that the publishers (General Publishing in Canada), who had only expected it to sell about 10,000, moved up the release date to capitalize on the band's headline-making cancellation of the remainder of their U.S. tour. "I expected it to do more but I expect more than anyone else," says Gallagher, sounding a lot like his ambitious brother Noel, who has already layed down four tracks at Abbey Road Studios for the new Oasis album expected next April. Book sales will likely pick up again given the recent Group of the Year honors for Oasis at the MTV Europe music awards, not to mention Liam's arrest on suspicion of possession of cocaine. "It's just mass hysteria over here," Gallagher says. "I mean if Liam walked backwards in the street, they'd say he was retarded and make a story out of it. The press over here is just like scum, basically, and I'm not afraid of saying that. We get doorsteps every day of the week, which means the press just arrive on your door." In fact, Gallagher had just arrived back from London where he was visiting Liam, who has to report back to police on Dec. 30. "I've been doing my Highway To Heaven bit, which means angel of mercy sort of stuff," Gallagher jokes before adding that Liam is holding up well. "He's fine, he just doesn't want permanent press attention 'cause he hasn't really got a private life anymore -- and it's very, very sad that it has to come to this." Understandably, neither Liam nor Noel initially wanted their older brother writing Brothers, but it apparently had less to do with airing their dirty laundry in public than with Paul's choice of collaborator, Manchester-based journalist Terry Christian. "They still don't like him, probably because he's a Man United fan, but there you go." (Liam, Noel and Paul are supporters of Manchester City, the local soccer rivals of Manchester United.) But Gallagher decided to proceed, with the blessing of their mother, Peggy, and says the book has now brought the three siblings closer together. "I think Noel has read it, and he's behind it. Liam probably read the bits about himself 'cause his attention span isn't very large, and he says it's okay. "In the end, I don't really care, okay or not. I mean it was a book that was personal to me and everyone says, `Well, why share it with the world?' And I say, `Well, the world is on my nerves at the moment.' Cause the press was just digging up stories just for the fun of it, trying to disgrace us." There are actually nine books about Oasis currently in Britian, but, as Gallagher points out, "I'm the only one with the divine right to write one. "Brothers are brothers and they'll fight anyway but at the end of the day they still love each other. They've got a stronger bond than anyone on the outside could ever have. You can have lifetime friends until you're ninety-nine but your brothers are forever." As for their estranged father, who still lives in Manchester and has sold his own stories to the tabloids, Gallagher doesn't think he's read the book. Nor does he care. "He just thinks that nothing's happened. He thinks we're his three darling little sons. Well, we're not his sons, we're me mom's sons."

Julian Fellowes's period drama Belgravia is an adaptation of his novel of the same name. The plot, which follows the trajectory of a family secret from a party in Belgium on the eve of the Battle of Waterloo in 1825 to England's Belgravia neighborhood in the 1840s, is a self-contained story, but in March 2023, MGM+ announced there will be a sequel series to Belgravia, aptly titled Belgravia: The Next Chapter. It will be set in the same world, but in a different time.

"I’m so proud of everything this dedicated team accomplished with the original Belgravia series. I cannot wait for the world to return to Belgravia for this new iteration, expertly crafted by Helen Edmundson," Julian Fellowes, Executive Producer, said in a statement. Plus, the show will feature Sophie Winkleman as the Duchess of Rochester, described as "the queen of Belgravia" who sits atop the social hierarchy. Winkleman, also known as Lady Frederick Windsor, is a member of the British royal family. In August 2023, Winkleman opened up to the Daily Mail about the allure of Regency-era romances. "Just the way you compose yourself, the way you speak the words, we are in such a casual era," she explained, "To go back to some kind of formality, you realise how oddly sexy it is, because everything's so out there in this current century. There's actually no intrigue at all, so going back to then, when everything had to be so covered up for the sake of propriety, everything ripples under the surface. There's two returning cast members from the original Belgravia: Alice Eve as Susan Trenchard and Richard Goulding as Oliver Trenchard.

Belgravia was intended to be a limited series.

“For me, this is a completed story, although whenever I say this to any of the actors, they disagree with me violently, so I’m not sure we know the definitive answer to that, really,” Julian Fellowes initially said at a preview for Belgravia. “We’ll have to see. If anyone wants any more…”

“We definitely made this as a limited series because it’s really enjoyable at times to have a clear beginning, middle and end,” Gareth Neame, who also worked on Belgravia, said, per The Wrap. “And it’s obviously been adapted from a novel that has a clear ending. So that’s where we are right now. But obviously one never knows. If we find it does really well and we find another way to bring the title back in the future then I guess we would consider that. But right now it’s very clearly a limited series.

Harry has never said anything against his fans eventho they were behaving ugly to him as well, when they were calling him out for such a silly thing like shaving his hair, the only person who came to defend him was his own mother. And now when I read how some italian h*rries are now on a hunt to find him and probably try to ask him about Liam, they obviously can’t behave in front of their own idol and treat him kindly and with respect and he hasn’t said anything to defend himself either. They stalk him regularly, how many h*rries travel to London with the only purpose to spend days in front of his public house in hope to meet him. They are just terrible no matter if it’s Liam, Louis or H himself.

I know you hate the p-word and we can’t believe what H says in the interviews because it’s manipulated to fit the narrative but H once called Twitter/X a sh*thole/dark place of the internet and said that he has a p-word life nobody knows about and at least at these moments I kind of trust him because a) X was the place where the biggest witch hunt on Liam was happening (and now it’s the place were some psychos are sharing photos on Liam’s dead body) and b) f.e. I have no doubt H babysits his niece more often that we can even imagine but we don’t know it because it’s not shared with us. Or that he hung out with Niall in Manchester but again, we will never get a photo.

I think there's a lot of fucked up things and it's not simple, it's complicated. If it were simple we'd have fixed it a long time ago.

I think it's important to point fingers and place blame on the system and not on individuals. People are stalking Harry because he's been papped outside his own house and had every room in the house printed in the Daily Mail. Everywhere he goes he's often, through paps pics, letting us know where he is and what he's doing. When fans show up he somtimes give them attention, a pic, a hug, or an autograph. Harry wants the attention and seeks the attention and fans flock to him to give him it. I think the word stalking is being misused here, because i can't count the number of times management have tipped off fans of his whereabouts (UAs mostly) and set up a meet and greet. So i can never blame the fans who while in London goes to his house, because Harry himself is perpetuating this behaviour. It's that symbiotic relationship again. Harry needs fan attention and fans needs H's attention. If H wants privacy he knows how to make that happen.

Also, i wish this fandom learned to differentiate between bullying, harrassment, hatefulness vs. constructive crisism vs. expressing personal opinion. There is a difference between wanting someone to be in pain (God take XX's pain, double it and give it to Liam Payne) or blaming someone for something they haven't done (England lost so i'm blocking Liam Payne). Vs. Saying "Louis' tweets to Jenn Selby are out of order and are homophobic, and he should apologise" vs. "I didn't like Harry's hair at XX event".

Constructive crisism is always welcomed as long as you're not being hateful. You should call out your favourite when they fuck up. You're allowed to express that you don’t agree with that behaviour and ask them to do better. You are also allowed to express your personal opinions. We don’t want blind idolisation and a fandom where you're not allowed to have opinions. If you don’t like the hair, you're allowed to say so. That doesn’t mean you love them any less. C'mon, it's hair, it will grow back.

Celebrities need to bear the consequences of their actions and choices. If you go bald, the likelihood of your own fandom having hearteyes over it, when you're known for your hair, is slim. It's his choice, but we're allowed to dislike it and express it. What complicates things is when a whole horde of people, like on social media, does all this at once. So if you're about to do something controversial, you need to be ready for a barrage of people not liking it and expressing that at once.

To complicate things further, if you're constructivly critizised for something already (queerbaiting), do something else to draw even more critizism (zioni*m), and then do something people just don't like (go bald), the negativity towards you have been building up on social media, and a small thing like shaving your hair will get a mob going and the public response will feel disproportionate and surprising (it's just hair). The hair shaving becomes a catalyst for pent up anger. It's what happens when things aren’t addressed and resolved.

I don't think it's people on social media that's the problem, it's the way everyone is given a voice, not only people who knows what's going on, but also people with no information. It's reactive, it's people from all over the world with different backgrounds, who have good and bad days and different views and convictions. If you say you hate social media, you really hate the world. The difference in real life is that we choose who we spend our time with and listen to. The same thing needs to happen on social media, so curate your own experience by muting and blocking what you don’t want to see and only give attention to people who treat each other with respect.

I still think H saying he's got a private life we don’t know about was referring to his life with Louis. He's leading a double life. I don't think H meant he's secretly a stamp collector or that he runs a kindergarden out of his house. We know he visits friends and family.

THE LAST VOYAGE OF THE DEMETER - Review

DISTRIBUTOR: Universal Pictures

SYNOPSIS: Based on a single chapter from Bram Stoker's novel “Dracula,” the film tells the terrifying story of the merchant ship Demeter, which was chartered to carry private cargo—fifty unmarked wooden crates—from Carpathia to London. Strange events befall the doomed crew of the Demeter as they attempt to survive the ocean voyage, stalked each night by a merciless presence onboard the ship. When the Demeter finally arrives off the shores of England, it is a charred, derelict wreck. There is no trace of the crew.

REVIEW: This project was bouncing around Hollywood for a bit till André Øvredal landed in the directors chair and it set sail. Over the years this chapter of the Stoker novel has been immortalized in several great films that have tackled the “Dracula” novel. In THE LAST VOYAGE OF THE DEMETER we are introduced to the crew and passengers on the two week sail from Carpathia to London and the rise of Dracula.

Bragi Schut Jr. and Zak Olkewicz’s screenplay is a solid evolution of Stoker’s chapter. They jump right into the tale and the mythology as the Demeter quickly sets out of port. We are given a quick introduction to Clemens, a doctor and a man of science trying to get passage back to England. As the story progresses and we are presented more of his background story he clearly becomes a stand-in for VanHelsing, but a novice. There are a total of eight other men on the ship, a bunch of livestock, and a stowaway, Anna, who is a snack for Dracula. You could easily draw references to a classic haunted house tale or 79’s “Alien.” Other than Clemens and Anna we get a flavor for the other characters and a sense of dynamics of the ship. The film has a classic genre film feel and as such there is no depth of character that emotionally engages the viewer. The plot assumes we bring an awareness of Dracula and the rules. While the viewer might know the rules of the game, clearly these characters do not. I was surprised that Anna, who lived in the village under the shadow of Dracula’s castle, didn’t have anything to offer them to fight the demon. It does treat the material with respect and is a mature horror film that presents some of the issues presented in the novel but never fully embraces them. I think they take a couple of liberties with the vampire rules, but they are exploited in a way that I found ambiguous.

The production values are breathtaking. They built the Demeter’s interior in Germany and the exterior in Malta, and it was set in a water tank that looked out on the ocean. The ocean sequences look as good as any seafaring film with a larger budget. The creature design is a combination of prosthetics and visual effects and looks great, especially how they go about showing it the shadows and darkness, and it evolves. There is just the right amount of blood and gore, after all it is a vampire film, and it looks great. Director André Øvredal, whose credits include “Trollhunter,” “The Autopsy of Jane Doe,” and “Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark,” is a fan and well versed in the cinematic language of the genre and crafts a thrilling and terrifying film. The score is by composer Bear McCreary, whose TV shows such as “The Walking Dead,” “Battlestar Galactica,” “Caprica,” and films like “Happy Death Day” and “Godzilla: King of the Monsters.” He delivers another amazing composition that enhances the atmosphere and tone of the film.

The film has a solid ensemble cast. Veteran actor Liam Cunningham as Captain Elliot presents a complex character who is thinking beyond the voyage and his future, but still presents the gravitas of a veteran sea captain. Doctor Clemens is played by Corey Hawkins, with credits on the stage and screen. He does a solid job creating the character’s troubled psyche and he is believable as a man of science struggling to deal with this supernatural entity. Actress Aisling Franciosi, who plays Anna, and the young actor Woody Norman, Toby, create these likable characters that offer the viewer the opportunity to feel a little sympathy for them. Both are fighters and I found myself rooting for them right up to their bitter end.

THE LAST VOYAGE OF THE DEMETER is an excellent high seas horror epic that does a terrifying job of expanding this segment of Stoker’s novel “Dracula.” It’s a solid addition to the evolving “Dracula” mythology. I know there are some Stoker and “Dracula” fans and scholars who might be put off by some of the liberties they take in the final act of the film. However, there is enough here and is well written that they should be happy with the majority of the film. Regardless, vampire devotees are sure to love everything about the film and it will be the hot topic of their discussion for the next few weeks.

He later does an hour long podcast on following them and explains he then realised Harry was there and takes photos. After a few phone calls, the two photographers discover rumors of a romantic relationship between Harry and Olivia. 10 minutes later, photographed them together. in Nanny tell all Nanny said Olivia was still texting Jason to say she loved him, that Olivia was pretending to not have service. Nanny found out she was at the wedding online.
