Miguel Diaz is the Karate Kid

Miguel Diaz is the 4th karate kid! And here’s 4!! pieces of evidence to prove it-

1) Actress Mary Mouser who plays Sam LaRusso says that when she was hired for the role all she knew was that “I was being hired to be the karate kids daughter and I knew I (was) hired to be the next generation karate kids girlfriend”

This should be evidence enough, but let’s get into it

Kyler, immediately no❌

Robby , a reasonable contender if this was season 3, but as of s6 pt2 they haven’t dated in who knows how long in universe ❌

Miguel, her current boyfriend and longest standing relationship! ✅

2) One of the season 1 trailers from 6 years ago, these clips are in direct succession! It says “get ready for a new karate kid” before showing the scene where Miguel is attacked by Kyler and subsequently saved by Johnny.

3) This is another point in Miguel’s favor, because his origin story is all but identical to Daniel’s! Kid is saved from bullied by karate guy who later becomes his sensei, best friend, and father figure

4) November 24 of 2021 one of the writers said that Miguel was the current generations top karate kid as of winning the last tournament. 11/24/21 was one month before season 4 dropped. The implication of this way of tweets is that Miguel is the current karate kid until he loses a tournament. In the season 4 tournament Miguel medically forfeits his match against hawk. Is this a tournament loss? I wouldn’t say so. (Hawk goes on to win this tournament of course, but Hawk isn’t really a Karate Kid contender soooo)

Boy raised by single mother who loves and cares for him is moved to California where he is immediately bullied by the popular crowd. He is saved from his bullies by a karate champion who eventually becomes his sensei and confidant. He has a crush on a girl (who is unfortunately dating his bully) and once they break up he takes her on a golf and stuff date :D

In order to truly secure his title (although he’s already karate kid enough for me ) Miguel should technically win 1 more tournament.

Karate Kid: Legends First Look

Rating the couple in LoveSick 2024.

After this eventful 5th episode in LoveSick 2024, there are many possible choices. Let me remind you of all the possibilities.

Phun and Noh. They are not official yet, but you can't deny the attraction they have for each other.

Earn and Noh. Earn is clearly smitten with Noh and he didn't hesitate to spend his own money to help him get the drums. He also brings food and care for the one he loves. Unfortunately, Noh seems oblivious of his flirting.

Pete and Earn. Pete wants the best for the one he loves. He is selfless enough to accept him to be with someone else if it means he is happy. Of course, Earn can't see that his friend loves him. He is cursed with the same blindness as Noh.

Per and Mawin. Per wants to protect him, but the latter just wants to do everything for him because it's him. Even if it means staying under the scorching sun or picking up trash, as long as it's with Per, Win is willing to do it.

Aim and Li. They are "friends", but feelings are here and they both can't do anything about it because they are both in couple with someone else. Also Aim's mother has prejudice and negativity towards lesbians so their romance would be difficult.

Ohm and Mick. Ohm is treating Mick like his mentee, but we know that a mentee/mentor relationshp is possible (Q and Toey I'm thinking about you). Nothing is clear yet between them, but Mike really likes Ohm so everything is possible.

Ngor and Fong. Fong saved Ngor in this episode and you know it's a famous trope in romance so they may end up as a couple.

Ton and Pete. If you ask me, I believe it's never a good idea to go back with your ex, but there is something thrilling in second-chance romance and you may feel the same.

Yuri and Noh. She is a really nice girl, but she doesn't stand a chance. If you're a fan of doomed romance that will never really start, you can choose this couple as your favorite one.

Aim and Phun. Do I have to say something?

Li and Taeng. After all they are already together and they seem to love each other so maybe they are supposed to be together.

Fi and Mick. He found him cute and Mick didn't really notice him. That's for the fans of unrequited love.

You can also bet on these three if you believe poly is the answer for any love triangle (I won't have any more choices possible in the poll). And if you have your own choice of romance, then don't forget to add them in the tags.

what was their end game?

What was the end game of the Earth Kingdom and Water Tribes when the Fire Nation attacked? To survive, yeah. but if they thought it would end? How did they think that?

Like the only invasion of the Fire Nation was post gaang which were Fong’s plan and Sokka’s plan.

What were those invasion plans even going to accomplish? After they depose the Firelord, the biggest army on earth currently disbanded, all of those people will form mercenary groups that will cause so much chaos and disorder. Also people will be dead due to the removal of the Fire Lord.

Without Zuko, who at the time of Fong’s plan was being hunted by Azula and still fiercely loyal to the FN. The whole nation would've collapsed.

The Fire Islands would've become just as bad as Szeto's time and there could be the possibility of the FN collapsing as Aang could not have focused on the FN as Szeto could because the Air Nation is just him.

Also, due to the power gap of the FN, Long Feng could easily make a FULL Unlateral government with him in charge and allowing him to depose Kuei (The Earth King).

So basically Earth King domination, Fire Nation collapse, possibly Air Nation collapse due to no support from Zuko, Avatar Cycle broken, The Water Tribe would be fine probably as the Earth King would not want those lands. Maybe Aang would be hunted by the Earth Kingdom.

Also rebellions in the Earth King due to Long Feng's illegitimate claim and coup. Which might result in Earth Kingdom collapse.

So if Sokka's worked, Zuko would take the throne but he might not be trusted and killed by Hakoda or the Earthbending army, which would lead to the rest that I just described.

But it couldn't work as they would probably have to kill Ozai as Aang doesn't have energy bending and the eclipse lasts eight minutes. And rebellion ensues as Ozai's dead but maybe the rebellions hopes would be crushed if Ozai's dead and Azula would be a wild card after that.

Iron might be killed in the confusion and Azula would go out in a blaze.

So the only member of the royal family still alive would be Ursa, who is in hiding.

But if Zuko and Iroh are alive then the FN might not collapse.

Now that the Dai Li is loyal to the FN royal family, the Earth Kingdom will not focus on the FN.

So Sokka's would probably work both logistically and tactically while Fong would make sure that every nation except the Water Tribes would collapse and the Avatar Cycle would be broken.

Li starred and produced Fong Sai Yuk, and the sequel Fong Sai Yuk ll (also 1993) after he left the mega-popular Once Upon A Time In China film series. (He would return for the final entry, Once Upon A Time In China And America, in 1997).

Fong Sai Yuk allowed Li to play a younger, more mischievous character than Wong Fei Hung, the hero of the OUATIC franchise. Li's playful, comedic side - which was much on display throughout much of his earlier work - was on full display here.

But the films did not lack for martial arts action. The fight scenes are fast-paced, breathtaking, and very entertaining. The films' director, Corey Yuen, won a Hong Kong Film Award for Best Action Choreography. The films were also box office hits in Hong Kong, and are still very popular.

The films have also been released with the titles The Legend and The Legend ll. They are well worth the effort to track down and watch.

Syaoran takes Sakura on a tour of Hong Kong! Sakura tries HK milk tea for the first time at a cha chaan teng and of course they have to have it with bolo baos 菠蘿包 and egg tarts 蛋撻! ☕️

This cafe is based on Lan Fong Yuen (蘭芳園) located in HK. It is a historic cha chaan teng (茶餐廳) or HK-style cafe. Initially, I wanted them inside the cafe with the retro tables and chairs but I couldn’t get over a photo of 2 old men actually sit outside the cafe window on little stools 😅

My favorite Cha chaan teng is an actual place called Shooting Star Cafe in Oakland Chinatown 😄 I love their peanut butter condensed milk waffle 🤤 I also really like strong HK milk tea (it make me jittery but it’s so good 😅 I like to get it at Pineapple King Bakery in SF).

Say what you will about Karate Kid: Legends when it comes out, but know this: I WILL be adopting Li Fong no matter what. I promise you nothing but my unwavering support for this kid. I came out of the previous Miyagiverse movies adopting Daniel and Julie regardless of the quality of their movies, and that won't change here.
