The warm weather was welcomed, more than the little bit of clothing he wore could ever hope to express. Nothing but baggy shorts and a striped tank-top adorned the tall male's lean frame; thin cloth used to let heat out rather than trap it all in. Zeke was thankful for having been paid enough this month to buy more clothes for the Summer, especially since last year he had managed to ruin just about every article of clothing his grandmother had bought him, all on his own. A fitted cap was used to keep the sinking sun out of his eyes as he drove through what could arguably be the smallest town in America, heading towards the diner in a ratty old car that barely got him from point A to point B nowadays. Unlike many of the more privileged small-town kids here, he had to make due with being the odd one out who drove a dated car that even he swore seemed to come right off the lot of some Back To The Future parody.

As Ezekiel leaned over in the seat to adjust the radio, eyes fixed on the road, he felt his stomach turn. It rumbled quietly under the scratchy sound of static blaring from the car's speakers, begging for food it unknowingly would soon have. His ears twitched at the combination of sounds. "Yeah, I hear you," he muttered back to his body. For weeks now he had eaten nothing but burgers and fries made at the drive-in, not coming home early enough to share a meal with his grandmother. It was high time that he had some decent food in his system -- something he didn't make himself that was sitting out for an hour or two.

Shake-N-Pop Diner had some of the best homemade food around. Which was saying something given the amazing cuisine Zeke had been able to get his hands on before coming to Iowa. Although, there weren't many other places in Brent to choose from. Over the minimal years of being there, it was very likely that he favored the place out of necessity than anything else. It was either that, or the Junk Bar -- a place that prized itself in beer pretzels. Nothing really edible. 

Getting across town only took a matter of minutes (maybe ten at the most, depending on how fast you were going), and he could smell the food from a mile away. His stomach rumbled again, reminding him how empty it was. As if he needed the reminder at all. 

Within seconds he was at Shake-N-Pop, heading inside, and hunkering down at a booth waiting to be served. Dark eyes scanned over the entrees; Classic BLT, soup of the day, chicken and waffles, various kinds of pork, numerous burger specials. Ugh, burgers. He felt a bit nauseous simply reading the word.
