b) if it would freak them out

late night doodles ft. baby tamlin and his mama, lady of spring (rip)

bc i often think about tamlin's childhood and his relationship with his mother, how she's complicit in his abuse because she is said to love her husband so much she can't speak against him. i hc their bond was unexpected and she was young, immediately becoming lady of spring and providing heirs. and like, not knowing how to actually mother them.. with tamlin, she doesn't really know how to comfort him, always telling him it'll pass and it'll be okay. she can pat him on the head, fix his violin, maybe hold him for a little bit but can't look at his scars when she heals them. and she's remorseful because she doesn't know how to be a mother to him. and when she looks at her sons she sees her failures as their mother. two cruel boys with their father's eyes and lust for power. her youngest, bearing her green eyes, always crying, pleading silently for her to do something. defend him maybe. talk to him at least. stop being silent.

so tamlin never really had anyone to confide in. so he grows up always bottling it in until he breaks and explodes. but his mother isn't there to fix what he broke or just hold him momentarily, tell him it's going to be okay.

but like, but like, do you think in her final moments she tries her best to defend tamlin at last. with what little power she has against the night hl she puts herself in front of her baby :'D the one time she stands up for him and defends him and show him she loves him. and she fucking dies :'D do you think her last words were sorry and i love you :'DD do you think that was what sent Tamlin to the edge and made him snap that he managed to kill rhys' dad :'DDD
