Yo, it's been a while! Catching up with life and work as of late! 🥺🤗💖 Hopping on to the #artvsartist2022 bandwagon and to share what I've done in the past year, in five parts nonetheless! I don't simply boast about my achievements (hehe), but mannn I can't believe I have done a lot of art - on and off the screen (yessss, I've done more art off screen! Look out for some unpublished art!) One of the biggest plot twists I've done this year is I've joined two(!) online art classes in able to improve my drawing and painting skills. That thing and my newfound friends' encouragement made myself more confident in making art. Although I've been on an art/creative slump lately, I never give up on creating no matter what; something I have to remember by heart. Looking forward to more art-ventures in 2023! Woooot! ⭐⭐⭐ Notes: 💖Photo 1: fave traditional artworks. Can't believe I can use copics and dip pens on top of my usual staples called watercolor and gouache. 💖Photo 2: fave digital artworks. Mostly done with Clip Studio Paint. One of the best investments ever. Some digiart from the past year happened to be campaign art for #lenikiko2022 . No regrets. 💖Photo 3: off screen sketches. Quite shy to share some of these tbh and now it's time to show them off. More of them the next time I'll post, promise 💖Photo 4: homeworks (or lack thereof) from the watercolor/anime+manga classes. Once again, quite shy sharing them. (Darn you 4lg0r1thm, you're ruining creativity lol). Thanks for making magic to us artists, @artillery.ph (and to friends I've made along the way!) 💖Photo 5: #wip corner. Those reminded me to have them done haha ⭐⭐⭐ ✨ If you love my art, please consider following me on Instagram and FB page: @mhanevision ✨ Commissions is still open! Please refer to pinned post on digiart commission for more info. To the Filipinos messaging me today over the ongoing election results (and for the foreigners to be aware of our political situation),
I feel you — this is humiliating, painful, and devastating. A legacy of dictatorship back on the seat of power, over hundreds of reported bribery and cheating cases with evidence, an election committee with their own preferred people, actors and abusers over human rights lawyers, history forgotten and rewritten.
But let's never forget that we're on the right side of history. My first vote was for someone with the best possible credentials and character, along with a colorful senatorial team with great campaigns.
We'll grieve this time around, but let grief turn to anger and let anger turn to hope for a better future.
I'll always remember how every university banded together for her; how professionals and celebrities chose her and her team. I'll never forget the flash mobs singing peace hymns in malls, markets, and streets; the house-to-house campaigns where my friends ventured to the most unreachable places; the sports games where everyone wore pink instead of their school colors; the crowded rallies where food and water were passed around, and not a single wallet was stolen.
We turned a political campaign into a movement for change and love — and I'll always be proud of that. We made the right choices. We did what we can. That, in itself, shows promise for our future.
For brighter futures, laban lang, Pilipinas! fighting! 💗

I rarely post anything original (or political) on Tumblr, but this is one of those moments where I can't sit by.
----------
The people of the Philippines need international coverage now more than ever. We're at the risk of letting the son of a dictator sit at the president's seat. We're at the risk of another Ferdinand Marcos (Jr.; nicknamed BongBong Marcos/BBM) Ferdinand Marcos Sr., the dictator that declared Martial Law, which caused 3,000+ deaths, 34,000+ tortured (in so many different horrific ways), 70,000+ to be imprisoned, and hundreds of billions of pesos* to be plundered for their greed.
(Pesos = PH currency)
It would have been very different if the son acknowledged and denounced the crimes his father had done to our people. It would have been different if he paid his estate tax (203B afaik). But he hasn't. He refuses to acknowledge these things. And so we risk history revisionism. We can't allow our history to be changed to suit these people's desire.
The dictator has been dead many years already. But his mother still pulls the strings. His mother, Imelda Marcos, who has over 3,000+ pairs of expensive shoes, who so badly wanted to have an animal "oasis" that she had her husband's military force a village of 450+ families to leave so that she could use that land for the animals. (Which, by the way, they shouldn't even be there. Those animals were bought with a portion of the Marcos' ill-gotten wealth)
The Marcoses fled with their ill-gotten wealth when the people of the Philippines finally decided to fight back during the EDSA People Power Revolution in 1986. They were exiled to Hawaii. They were permitted to return to the Philippines in 1991 by then-President Corazon Aquino so that they may face the charges being placed against them. Marcos Sr. died in 1989, before the family was permitted to return.
Imelda unsuccessfully ran for president a year after returning, but lost (thankfully). But her children BBM and Imee Marcos both won seats in the House of Representatives. Then later they would both win seats in the Senate. Bear in mind, neither of these children ever denounced their parents' evil doings. They always called for fake news.
And now, more than two decades later, we're at the risk of Marcos Jr. becoming president. The elections are being rigged as his sister, Imee, is the current Chairperson of COMELEC*. The appointees of COMELEC right now are all appointed by current President Rodrigo Duterte, whose daughter, Sara Duterte, is running for Vice President under the same camp as BBM. Yet another political dynasty.
(COMELEC = Commission of Elections)
They're apparently "done counting" over 80% of the votes when, oh-so-coincidentally, there are hundreds of voting machines that are apparently malfunctioning, so many missing/broken SD cards, and vote buying. Not to mention the hundreds of people in multiple precincts that still haven't even voted (I could be wrong as of now, since I'm posting this a day late)
As I type this, tens of thousands of my people prepare to march once again in protest against these rigged decisions. They're being red-tagged* as terrorists, even though people are peacefully walking, standing for what's right.
(Red-tagged = being identified/tagged and put under a terrorist watch-list)
Please. If you can, spread this message to as many places as you can. We're all still fighting so hard to prevent this from happening. We need the Leni Robredo-Kiko Pangilingan camp to win. They're the only ones who can keep these two from winning. We're desperate.
Please.

#KulayRosasAngBukas
Tumblr media
If you've seen this hashtag around, feel free to support it! It's the beginning of Campaign Season in the Philippines and everyone is hopeful for the future. Here's why.
In the Philippines, we've been under horrific, anti-human rights, murderous leadership for the past 6 years.
You all know Rodrigo "I will be Hitler and Drug Addicts will be Jews" Duterte. You know he ran a drug war that killed over 30,000 people in Extra Judicial Killings. That we know of.
That was what we had for the longest time. And he mishandled the pandemic as badly as you'd think for someone who hates human rights.
But then there's Leni Robredo.
Tumblr media
She's our Vice President. The admin has been trying to push her out for 6 years because she's an actual good leader.
She's a grassroots lawyer, she's ALWAYS there in person during calamities, she's been running independent pandemic relief, she has 0 record of corruption, the Commission of Audit has been marking her office one of the most reliable in the entire government for the entirety of her Vice Presidency.
She. Is. Amazing. And she's running for President!
"Kulay Rosas Ang Bukas" stands for "The colour pink is the future", because pink is her campaign colour. Many people, including perhaps artists you follow on social media, have been showing their support for her campaign.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Now Motzie, you ask, if she's so beloved, why is everyone going so hard on campaigning for her?
Excellent question.
Enter, BBM or Bongbong Marcos.
SON OF A DICTATOR, LITERALLY HAS A "COURT CASES" SECTION ON WIKIPEDIA, IS USING THE BILLIONS OF PESOS HIS FATHER STOLE FROM THE PHILIPPINES TO FUND HIS CAMPAIGN AND AN ARMY OF INTERNET TROLLS
Tumblr media Tumblr media
He also consistently denies, alongside his family, the egregiousness of the long dictatorship and Martial Law his father (and unofficially, his mother) ran for years.
And he's running for President. The absolute clown is paying big money to erase the crimes of his family and his own harmful actions. His mother is pushing it possibly because she was CONVICTED in 2018 and still hasn't been imprisoned, and having a President for a son could keep her out of jail.
I won't stay too long on this criminal idiot. He doesn't deserve attention. The point is that he's paid, with the people's money, to run campaigns to LIE to the people.
And the reason everyone pushes so hard for Leni to win is so that the Marcoses, the family of dictators who stole billions from the Philippines, will lose.
And the reason we want Leni to win is because she's actually a good leader.
I can't list EVERYTHING she's done, but here's a summary:
Was on the ground for multiple calamities in the Philippines to aid people
Was running pandemic aid consistently better than the actual Philippine government under Duterte, which tried on multiple occasions to push her out
BBM has been holding a grudge on her for years for "stealing" the Vice Presidency from him when he tried this back in 2016
Even if it's not healthy to place ALL your hopes and dreams onto one person, she's very clearly interested in making the country better, in contrast with Marcos.
If you see all the love for our Pink Presidential Candidate floating around, feel free to support it for the hope of a better future for the Philippines.
And if you want to do your own research, feel free to!
But here's a quick glossary of additional terms for context:
1) Rosas = Pink (Filipino), also Rose (Filipino)
2) Kakampink = a play on the word Kakampi (Ally) but with "pink" in the word
3) LeniKiko2022 = I can't speak much on Kiko Pangilinan, the VP candidate campaigning with Leni. All I can say is that in the Philippines you can vote for Presidents and VPs separately. Kiko was her candidate pick. I need to do more research before I can safely say anything about Kiko, but they're definitely campaigning together!
Let me know if you have any questions or want to add anything!

This will be my last political post. I just want to give my full support to the candidate whom I think is deserving of the presidential seat. A person who doesn't depend on her fame and last name to make an impact, but someone who has shown resilience amidst misogyny and fake news. Someone who is qualified due to her credentials, achievements, platforms, integrity, and humility. Someone who is a woman. A woman who leads by example.
I am not here to pick a fight with anyone, because just like you, I just want what's best for our nation, regardless if we have different political perspectives and even if we choose a different candidate. (As long as you are not a fake news peddler or an enabler of online harassment and bullying, or a promoter of criminals, then we're good.) Hindi po ako ang kalaban mo, kakampi mo ako, at kung di kita kaya ma-convince sa stand ko, okay lang, ipaglaban pa rin kita.
If our goal is to “win,” then we naturally think of others as our opponents. Pero hindi ako ganun. You are not my opponents. If so, our tools of choice are blame and shame. Ganito kasi thinking natin minsan: We think the world will be better only if THEY change. We are willing to put them down and make them feel bad in the service of being right.
However, politics shouldn’t be just about winning. Politics doesn’t end when your favorite candidate or party is in power. The prevailing politics determines our nation’s way of life. It determines the kinds of laws and policies we enact.
On a more personal level, our politics influence how we choose to interact with others. In a way, your politics affect my politics and vice versa. This makes the problems of politics a shared problem that needs to be solved together. I gained this insight from an article on Inquirer.net, and I share the same sentiments. I hope that as you are reading this, I can give a little light on a very heavy and uncomfortable topic. ♡

is it true that VP Leni is backed up by oligarchs?
until now i wonder why bbm has lots of supporters so i also try to read posts why they hate leni whenever a post like that pass my tl. anyway, that's one of the reasons why they dislike her, other reasons i find bs.
Hi! I did some research before choosing Leni Robredo as my President and I've never come across seeing her name involved with any oligarchs. She is being supported by volunteers from different schools, political party, municipality, youths and organizations.
Many BBM supporters are blinded with misinformation, their only basis is that VP Leni Robredo is a "puppet" of Liberal Party. Some people go too low, they think she is not fit to be a president because of her "lutang" moments. They hate Leni because they think she is attacking Marcos verbally when she is asked about him in an interview (e.g sinungaling, "a leader shows up in most difficult times").
Bongbong Marcos has a lot of supporters because they think that during his FATHER's term, the country was in a "golden age" of economic prosperity, not knowing that Philippines was under a billion dollar debt. If we remove Bongbong's surname, would people still vote for him? I don't think so..
JOSE YAO CAMPOS, ROLANDO GAPUD, JESUS TANCHANGCO, JOSE DE VENECIA, ANTONIO FLOIRENDO, ROBERTO BENEDICTO, ANTHONY LEE, ALEJO GANUT, JR., ANOS FONACIER, MAXIMO AGANA, ANTONIO MARTEL, RAYMUNDO S. FELICIANO, BALTAZAR AQUINO.
Court Decisions: New Jersey, United States (1986), Federal Supreme Court of Switzerland (1997), Philippine Supreme Court (2003, 2012, 2017).
Sa term lang ni Pnoy natin na-experience 6.2% average annual growth in GDP, the highest in our record of Philippines economy.
Yun lang po :)

Tumblr media
On Monday—9th of May, 2022—I am voting for Leni Robredo to be the next President of the Republic of the Philippines, and for Kiko Pangilinan to be her Vice President.
This is genuinely the first time I don't feel like I'm supporting and settling for a "lesser evil" candidate.
I believe—with my whole dang heart—Leni and Kiko are the very best of the candidates. By far.
They are—honest-to-god, hand on heart—genuine public servants.
So I'm going to the voting precinct on Monday not only with a clear conscience, but also teeming with hope.
And whoever you're voting for on Monday, I do hope you're able to vote with as much certainty in your choice of candidates, and the ideals they stand for.

00 POLITICS : Break Until May 10, 2022
This is something really important to me 😙
Taking a Genshin break in favor of the ending election season for my country (I'll still post shorts and brainrots but the pre-election anxiety is real!)
I've mentioned this a few times that I utilize all my socmed platforms when it comes to advocating social issues, Tumblr is no different (as much as I want to make it my happy place 🥲) this has to be the pinnacle of my digital advocacy life.
In a few days, the nation will be choosing between a dictator's son and an active woman leader. This doesn't seem like a hard choice at all, except, the tides are turned against us.
I am a Leni-Kiko supporter, and I also believe that several of the senators under their party are qualified leaders who believe in human rights and compassion.
So please, if you are a Filipino, if you have Filipino friends, or you know an eligible voter in the Philippines, take the time read through some of my upcoming posts! I'll make sure to make them short and entertaining without the anxiety politics gives :)
And if you're a foreigner, you're even more welcomed! Awareness is important!

I've been circling back and forth between Leni and Leody for months, for reasons I've talked about at length already. But it's crunch time, a decision has to be made, and unlike Sandro Marcos, I intend to shade only one president in my ballot. Both Leni and Leody are radical votes, a fuck you to the institutions that have long sowed divide, discord, and a deep sense of hopelessness among Filipinos. But Leni ticks all the boxes, and despite my support for Leody (since 2019!), I intend to again help elect her into office.
She is what every leader should aspire to be: smart, resilient, strategic, able to think ten steps ahead, biased toward action--hindi natutulog sa pansitan (or sa ilalim ng kulambo while Netflixing Narcos), a listener, a leader who does not hog the limelight (instead shares the glory with her team), and has receipts. Never has any other presidential candidate inspired so much volunteerism than Leni. Big names are not afraid to be associated with her. For instance, I've been a staunch OPM listener since the 2000s, and never have I seen so many musicians take a stand, even if it meant losing followers. Leni outran 9 other men in terms of track record and even overshadowed the incumbent president with her resume. She's equal parts compassionate and strong, data- and anecdote-driven, reluctant to power but able to harness it for good.
She's human--many (me included) have criticized her for some of her decisions and policies, but her track record demonstrates her ability to listen and pivot as needed. She's a working leader--she doesn't just delegate and wait for reports. One favorite anecdote is how the vice president herself responded to one direct message to Bayanihan E-Konsulta late at night, assuring the person on the other end that her office will take care of the medical expenses. See all she's done? Why would anyone vote otherwise?
But maybe we don't vote with facts--we vote based on consanguinity, our realities, our feelings. We vote based on what feels right. When I was younger, I bought into the narrative that Marcos' Martial Law years were the golden ages, all because of a friend. It wasn't until I stepped into UP and one professor asked us to write about those years that I pored through article over article, each one more bone-chilling than the last. My dad would tell me "Tahimik noon, kung sumusunod ka..." It's the absence of the second part of that sentence, the condition, "pero kung hindi..." that spoke volumes. I could never vote any Marcos into power again.
Halley's Comet comes 'round our orbit every 76 years. A Leni Robredo does not come around often. Passing up the chance to elect someone who isn't merely a "lesser evil" is rarer than the famed comet, so why would you spend May 9 electing the same old names that never really cared about the country?
Research about the candidates here
