The ground creaked, a horrible, grating noise rattling through the air as something pulled its way out of the water, something massive, nearly half a dozen times her size. It smelled like a corpse – a bug’s corpse that had been left to decay for days, or weeks, where spores had settled deep enough that fungi were starting to sprout from their shell, ant and beetle and a horrible mishmash of species she didn’t know. It wasn’t shaped like any kind of macrovolute she knew, and it definitely didn’t move like one, slowly and steadily pulling itself along with four limbs and dragging a massive abdomen that bent like it lacked a shell entirely. It spread wings soddened with water that clung to its body like a slow-flowing solid and looked down on her, nearly five times her size, something oozing from its abdomen as it spoke, a horrific tangle of moth and ant and beetle and something else, twisted and distorted as if mimicked by a fungal console. <query><id>

I just finished bug fables! Pretty fun game, highly recommended. I decided to draw my favorite character Leif!

BRO POCKETS WAS SO GOOD!!!!!!

YESSSS!!! I just- AH! This show again and again keeps surprising me and this episode was just full of them!!

Like Ex coming back feels obvious now but in the moment I was so shocked and LOVING IT- especially the conversation between Ex and Clementine like that’s SO GOOD. Leif getting to have his moment- MWAH✨ (Also also Caspar finally getting to see what Effie and Zeb look like was very entertaining to me.)

And having the alternate diner gang just watching versions of themselves do the wackiest shit is spectacular. I love outsider point of views and it was also so devious to remind the audience how UNNATURAL everything surrounding the diner is. Like, hey, remember that NONE of this is normal XD

AND THE “Find people you love, hold onto them, never, ever let go.” Like what if I just get put into chemical ice!!!

Very desperate to know what Clementine is up to and who the mysterious man hinted at on Tara’s videos might be!! AAAA THIS SHOW❤️

I’m not in the Monster High or Monster As Teenager adjacent fandoms, but has anyone done “Daughter of The Thing (1982)” and it looks like just a teenaged girl version of Kurt Russell? No tendrils, no tentacles, just a girl with this exact fit and hair

She swears that she isn’t the daughter of The Thing (1982). She’s a totally normal human you guys. She shouldn’t even be at this school. She likes normal human things like not having her blood tested.

Reference, collaboration, outreach, and administrative tasks

Thompson writes about the ways to connect people with records, whether through reference activities (helping people use the records), collaboration, outreach, and administrative tasks. She is undoubtedly right that "taking care of archives can be a surprisingly busy occupation." Now, we actually do have an example of collaboration and outreach.

In the comic Leif & Thorn, Broiny, the archivist, gives information to the President about people named "Thorn":

In later comics, she gives information on Thorn and describes his achievements. She acts as a presidential adviser. In any case, she is helping people with outreach and collaboration. What about reference and administrative tasks? I believe that Nathan's grandfather in Stretch Armstrong would be engaging in reference, as he points to Ricardo and Nathan to the newspapers he has organized, where they can look for information. The newspaper archives seem like his personal hobby.

What about administrative tasks? Well, I haven't seen an archivist engage in that in any of the media I've seen as of yet. Despite the stereotypes in Attack of the Clones, as I've talked about time and time again, especially confusing libraries for archives, Madame Nu is shown helping Obi-Wan with his inquiry before her infamous line, which is talked about later in this post. We do see her, in the animation, trying to serve as a mentor to Ahsoka Tano and help her with her studies. So, that's a positive.

Additionally, in Hilda, the librarian definitely engages in reference and outreach by helping Hilda in various episodes. She isn't an archivist, but she is very close to it because she runs the special collections room in the town library. Perhaps Arizal will engage in some administrative tasks if the Recorded by Arizal series moves into a full season, but I kinda doubt it, because that would be seen as "too boring" for animation.

Poor Cora has only known this kid for six months and he's already wondering how he's survived this long without realizing something so simple 😂

I'm so happy Lavi finally has a face to his name and that Leif looks as lovely as I'd pictured him in my head but couldn't properly get when I tried to draw him myself, lol. Sakura's a magician, I swear!

Anyways, go give Sakura lots of love!!! She makes amazing art about the Heart Pirates and CoraLaw and even has her own webcomic called Dame Daffodil! Also her Oc/self-insert x Sabo art is ADORABLE so give that love, too, please!

I worked at Spirit Halloween for 3 Halloween seasons, and it was wild each year, truly such an odd place and premise but now it's just like a normal thing in my life.

like, yah one day 3 of my coworkers all told me they weren't wearing underwear
