Top Benefits of Legal Translation Services in Dubai
Tumblr media
When dealing with international legal matters, accurate legal translation becomes a fundamental need, especially in a city as globally interconnected as Dubai. From businesses to individuals, many people seek legal translation in Dubai to navigate complex legal procedures. This article delves into the top benefits of legal translation services in Dubai, helping you understand why hiring professionals for certificate translation in Dubai or legal document translation is crucial for successful outcomes.
Why Legal Translation Services Are Essential in Dubai
Dubai's status as an international hub for business, trade, and legal activity means that a large number of legal documents are required to be translated into different languages. Legal translation services in Dubai are indispensable for a number of reasons:
Multilingual Business Environment Dubai is a melting pot of cultures and nationalities, with Arabic being the official language and English widely spoken. Businesses, therefore, require translation services to ensure that contracts, agreements, and other legal documents are accurately translated between Arabic, English, and other languages like French, German, and Russian.
Accurate Legal Interpretation Legal documents are often complex and require precise interpretation to avoid misunderstandings. Legal terms in one language may not have direct equivalents in another, making accurate translation a delicate and highly specialized task. Legal translation services ensure that the meaning and intent of every legal term are accurately conveyed.
Compliance with UAE Laws When it comes to legal matters in Dubai, certain documents such as contracts, powers of attorney, wills, and certificate translation in Dubai for things like marriage, birth, and education, must be translated by a sworn legal translator. These translators are certified by the UAE Ministry of Justice, ensuring compliance with local regulations.
The Importance of Certified Legal Translation
Certified legal translation is often mandatory for legal proceedings in Dubai. This service is particularly crucial when you are dealing with:
Court Cases
Legal Contracts
Government Applications
Business Transactions
Certified translations are recognized by all governmental bodies and courts, ensuring that your documents are legally valid. Without proper certification, legal translations may be rejected, leading to delays and complications in legal procedures. Working with a certified translation service guarantees that your documents are translated by professionals who understand the nuances of legal translation in Dubai.

Accuracy and Confidentiality in Legal Translation
One of the primary benefits of hiring a professional legal translation service in Dubai is the guarantee of accuracy and confidentiality. Legal documents often contain sensitive information, and any errors in translation could lead to legal disputes or financial losses. Professional legal translators have expertise in maintaining the integrity of the document while ensuring that all information is handled with the utmost discretion.
Furthermore, legal translators are bound by strict confidentiality agreements, giving clients peace of mind that their personal or business information is secure.
Avoiding Legal Pitfalls with Professional Translation
One of the significant challenges when translating legal documents is ensuring that the translated version reflects the exact meaning and legal standing of the original. Misinterpretation or mistranslation of a single term can completely change the nature of a legal document, leading to disputes or even void contracts.
Using professional legal translation services in Dubai mitigates this risk. These translators possess a deep understanding of legal terminology and are trained to maintain the exact context of the original document, thereby preventing costly legal errors.
Specialized Legal Knowledge and Experience
Legal translators in Dubai come with specialized expertise in the field of law, making them capable of handling various types of legal documents, including:
Contracts and Agreements
Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs)
Patents and Intellectual Property Rights
Legal Proceedings and Court Documents
Notarized Documents and Affidavits
Their experience ensures that the legal nuances of each document are preserved, avoiding any misinterpretations that could result in legal or financial repercussions.
Efficiency and Timely Delivery
In legal matters, time is often of the essence. Delays in submitting translated documents can lead to missed deadlines, which can severely affect legal proceedings or business transactions. Professional legal translation services in Dubai are renowned for their efficiency, offering fast yet accurate translation services.
These services are particularly useful for businesses or individuals who need urgent translations, such as during court proceedings, real estate transactions, or the submission of government paperwork.
Benefits of Legal Translation for Businesses in Dubai
For businesses operating in Dubai, legal translation is not just an occasional requirement but a continuous necessity. Some key benefits for businesses include:
Streamlined Cross-Border Operations Whether it's a multinational corporation or a small business, legal translation allows for smooth cross-border transactions. With Dubai being a hub for international business, having documents like contracts, partnership agreements, and compliance paperwork accurately translated is critical for seamless operations.
Building Trust and Credibility Accurate legal translations help businesses build trust with international clients and partners. Having legal documents in their native language ensures transparency and builds credibility, making it easier to foster long-term relationships.
Avoiding Legal Complications Incorrect translations of legal documents can lead to miscommunications and legal complications that could result in lawsuits, contract nullifications, or financial losses. By relying on professional legal translation in Dubai, businesses can ensure that their documents are legally sound and free from errors.

Key Considerations When Choosing Legal Translation Services
While there are numerous translation services in Dubai, selecting the right one for legal documents is crucial. Here are some considerations to keep in mind:
Certification: Ensure the service provider has certified translators who are approved by the UAE Ministry of Justice.
Experience: Opt for a translation service with experience in translating legal documents, as legal terminology and format are highly specialized.
Confidentiality: Check that the service adheres to strict confidentiality protocols to protect sensitive legal information.
Turnaround Time: Choose a provider who offers timely delivery without compromising on accuracy, especially for urgent matters.
Conclusion
Hiring a professional legal translation service in Dubai is not just a convenience—it's a necessity for anyone dealing with legal documents in this cosmopolitan city. From ensuring legal compliance to maintaining accuracy and confidentiality, legal translation in Dubai offers numerous benefits that can prevent costly mistakes and legal disputes.
Whether you're a business or an individual, working with certified legal translators is the best way to ensure your documents are properly translated and legally valid. The legal landscape in Dubai is intricate, and with the right translation service, navigating it becomes significantly easier.

lost phineas and ferb episode where perry is called to investigate what dr doofenshmirtz is up to because carl the intern got ahold of some intel that doof has been seen speaking to lawyers and looking up the endangered species act at internet cafes and as major monogram says, "something fishy is going on"
meanwhile phineas and ferb's subplot of "i know what we're gonna do today!" is that isabella needs her environmentalist fireside girls badge so they start researching which species are in urgent need of help in the tri-state area so that they can use new cloning and gene therapy technologies to bring at-risk animals back from extinction
(yes there is a c-plot where buford and baljeet argue the ethics of this idea, i don't have time to explain it all for you rn)
we cut back to🎵doofenshmirtz evil incorporated🎵where we see perry carefully maneuvering around doofenshmirtz's lab scared he might fall into a trap but he hasn't set off a single booby trap and it's clear something is off
he runs into doofenshmirtz and goes to kick him in the gut action movie style but doof steps back one overly confident and says, "nuh uh uh, you see perry the platypus, you are TRAPPED! by the danville section of the endangered species act of 1973!"
doof goes on to explain his tragic backstory: "you see, perry the platypus, when i was a child my parents did not show up for my own birth! but you know that already, yadda yadda yadda they did not love me and then they loved roger more, ANYways i was raised by ocelots! i had a lovely foster mother who took me in and made me one of the pride, and so you see, perry the platypus, i am still legally considered an ocelot. did you know that there are only 50 recorded ocelots still alive in the continental united states? very sad for me as a member of a near-extinct species. it would be immoral for you to hurt someone critically endangered... in fact, you have made many attempts on my life this summer"
[montage of doof's security camera footage of their battles]
"which is why i have decided to bring you... TO COURT!" we cut back to phineas and ferb's back yard where they've decided to start cloning ocelots in their kiddie pool
candace storms outside enraged and says, "phineas and ferb are you cloning ocelots in my duckie momo kiddie pool!?"
ferb's one line of the episode is "well, i guess it's more of a kitty pool, now"
candace storms away saying, "i'm going to tell mom!" and isabella turns to phineas and says, "oh, does your mom have experience in wildlife conservation?"
we cut back to the doof and perry plotline where the two are now in the danville hall of justice and we learn that doof has spent his monthly alimony check on a defense lawyer and perry turns and sees the lawyer and then vanessa helping her organize her briefcase and perry chitters at her and vanessa shrugs and says, "i'm thinking about going into legal defense. sorry perry."
the rest of the doof and perry b-plot is spent in court and perry is about to ask for a public defense lawyer when carl runs into the room and explains that he's owca's official legal defense and perry looks at him like, "uhhh is that even allowed?"
it doesn't matter because apparently the judge is out sick today but because it's danville roger's the judge now because he's the mayor and everyone loves him.
the court case continues.
meanwhile phineas and ferb have successfully cloned multiple ocelots from the original ocelot dna they had on hand and isabella asks phineas if these clones will experience health problems like premature aging, phineas casually explains that ferb figured out the problem while they were experimenting with stem cell harvesting.
back in the courtroom, doof's ocelot foster mother has been brought to the stand along with an ocelot to english translator. doof gets emotional seeing her after so long. she says that he was one of her favorite child and he was as strong a hunter as anyone else in the family. it's incredibly sweet. the jury's in tears.
meanwhile, isabella has established connections with a group in texas who are going to release the ocelots back into their natural habitat and, using the cloned ocelots to prevent inbreeding, help establish an ocelot breeding program. the group explains that they are going to send a helicopter to retrieve the cloned ocelots from danville and bring them to texas soon.
isabella gets her fireside girls badge.
candace manages to get mom to see the backyard only after the ocelots have been helicoptered off to coastal texas, their primary habitat.
mom makes it into the backyard as phineas stares wistfully over the fence and says, "if you love something, you have to let it go." candace goes, "look mom look look look!" and points at the ducky momo kiddie pool, devoid of cloned ocelots, where baljeet and buford are now chilling out, having settled their philosophical debate about the ethics of animal cloning.
back in the courtroom drama, doof looks like he's about to win when an attendant walks into the courtroom and whispers something in roger's ear.
roger looks up, grinning, and says, "good news, everyone! my attendant here has just enlightened me that ocelots are no longer considered critically endangered!"
this settles the case, with perry being decreed not guilty and the entire affair being called off. the courtroom cheers, roger walks over to doof and personally congratulates him on his species' return from the brink of extinction.
doof shouts, "curse you endangered species classification system!" at the ceiling of the danville hall of justice.
perry arrives back home just in time for mom to say, "who wants pie?"
the end.

There’s a prompt I’ve heard from at least two seperate people, Danny gets adopted by the Waynes as a meta and the power suppression cuff hurts.
Okay, I need to sleep so let’s do this fast. No matter what anyone at Wayne Manor did, all Danny would do for the first day would be trying to get the cuff off, no one understood why, by the second day they got worried, a civilian shouldn’t go this long without food.
By the third day Danny realises he’s going to have a serious problem if he doesn’t act soon, he gets Bruces attention (this is the first ‘sane’ thing he’s done since he arrived so Bruce agrees to talk happily). Bruce doesn’t expect Danny to make him swear that nothing is recording this, that no one will hear what Danny says here, Bruce is concerned but not normal enough to see too much of an issue in this, so he agrees. Danny says this ‘I’m not human. I’m pretending to be a meta because the genocide of my entire species is legal and I’m too weak to fight the hunters right now.’ that alone was enough for Bruce to freak out, Danny really didn’t have to keep talking ‘My powers don’t work anywhere near the way a metas would, I don’t know why the cuff is working but you need to get it off. The powers are a part of me, they’re connected to my core, and the cuffs are hurting my core. I’ll die for good if you keep this on, it’s luck I’ve survived this long with the cuff on.’ Bruce decided to just unlock the cuff at this point, and immediately realised Danny was right.
For the first time that feral panic in his eyes was gone, he floated into the air, legs morphing into a tail, and immediately looks so much more comfortable than he had- again since Bruce had met him. He looked healthier and he seemed to- no, he was glowing. He took a deep breath in and the air he breathed out was icy and cold, Bruce had been told Dannt seemed to have some ice powers. The powers were obviously part of him.
‘First things first, legal genocide of your entire species? Was that a lie to get me to take the cuff off?’ Bruce asked hopefully, Danny actually laughed, revealing fangs
‘I wish- I’d love that to be true.’ Danny said
For just a slip second something else flashed across Dannys face, pain and sadness, like a king carrying his kingdom, like a soldier carrying his fallen armies legacy.
‘Could you stop it?’ Danny asked, Bruce nodded quickly
‘I will stop it.’ Bruce promised, Danny relaxed, he sighed and he looked just a little lighter
‘They’re safe.’ he whispered, happiness and relief obvious on his face ‘My friad, my haunt, my kingdom.’ Danny muttered
‘Fraid? Haunt? Kingdom?’ Bruce asked
‘Oh, just our species terminology, the closest translations would be family and territory.’ Danny said
‘What about kingdom?’ Bruce asked
‘What? No I meant the normal definition for that, I became king after the whole Pariah incident last year.’ Danny said it casually, in a tone Bruce knew well, the classic: this is not normal and I’m deeply traumatised about it, let’s pretend it’s no big deal.

𝕎𝕠𝕦𝕝𝕕 𝕀𝕥 𝔹𝕖 𝕆𝕜𝕒𝕪?
Arthur Leclerc x Reader In which after the reader has an unwanted interaction, Reader’s 6-year-old daughter has a serious talk with Arthur “Would it be okay if I called you dad?”
Warnings/Notes: Google Translated French and Italian. unnamed ex-boyfriend.
Tumblr media
You had never imagined ever becoming a teen mum. You hadn’t given any thought to getting pregnant with your boyfriend. There was no need to think about stuff like that, the two of you were only 16. That’s why you were so shocked to find out a month before you turned 17, that you would be having your first child.
Of course, after you eventually got over the shock, you immediately told your boyfriend. H was less than pleased with the situation. He didn’t outright say that he didn’t want it, but the way he treated you afterwards made that pretty clear to you. He was not going to help you. You had sat him down the night before your birthday to talk about what you were going to do. That night, he said that didn’t want to be a parent. That he didn’t want to be your boyfriend any longer.
Most people would become hysterical. Most people would start crying and begging for their partner to stay with them. That they could make it work. But not you. Your response to his words had stunned him.
“If you don’t want to be with me, that’s fine. If you don’t want to be a father, that’s fine too. After today I don’t want you near me or my baby, so once they’re born I want you to sign your rights away.” You were stone-faced with anger when you spoke to him. “No matter what you say or do from here on out, I will have full custody of my child and you will have nothing to do with them. Am I clear?”
He looked almost angry at your words, but he gritted his teeth and agreed to your demands. That was the last night you ever saw him. Either his family had moved away, or he had suddenly stopped frequenting the places you used to go together but whatever the reason you were strangely satisfied that you never ran into him for the remainder of your surprise pregnancy.
Your parents were your biggest supporters throughout the whole ordeal. You could still remember the day your parents found out you were pregnant. It was the day you yourself had found out. Your father had found you in the bathroom, sitting on the toilet lid in shock with tears streaming down your face. He rushed to you, worried out of his mind. Your father’s arms had wrapped around you protectively and your crying got louder as you tried to explain the news to him.
Your mother had come up the stairs when she heard you sobbing hysterically, only to find you clutching to your father as if he had told you he was dying tomorrow. He never loosened his hold on you as he explained to your mother what the issue was. She was equal parts worried and elated. Your mother took no time to join you and your father in the embrace. It had taken you almost an hour to come to terms with what you were about to go through, but knowing that you had your parents’ support and assistance made it all that much easier to deal with.
7 and a half months later, you had given birth to a daughter. That was the first and last day that your ex-boyfriend saw your daughter. You had texted him to come to hospital as you had the paperwork he needed to sign so that he could give his rights away. Being in no state to follow him and make sure that he signed what was necessary, your father had followed and stood opposite to him so he could make sure he wasn’t going to rip up the paperwork.
At some point in your pregnancy, you had expressed to your parents that while he had agreed to sign them away, you were worried that he would try something when the day came. Your father said that he would need a witness in order for the papers to be legal anyway, so he would be there to make sure your ex couldn’t try anything nefarious.
Despite countless nights sat with your parents on the couch in your living room, you still hadn’t come up with a name for your daughter. Your mother’s family hailed from France and your father’s family hailed from Italy, so you wanted something that had both ethnic backgrounds.
As soon as you laid eyes on your baby, after hours of labour, you knew instantly what her name would be.
Colette Vincenza L/n
You were always thankful that she was a well behaved baby, she had only really started acting like the stories you’d heard when she was teething. But once she had all her teeth, she was a kindhearted angel for you and your parents. That’s how she was, even as she continued growing.
When Colette was just over a year old, you had met someone while going about your day in the French markets. The stroller was in front of you as you browsed the stalls. You had been so absorbed in your daughter that you had failed to notice someone walking the opposite direction and had accidentally bumped into them. Because of the impact, the man had spilled some of his hot drink in front of him, and consequently onto your daughter’s stroller. You quickly grabbed Colette out and started to sooth her, as she had been shocked and started to cry. Amidst you trying to sooth your daughter and double check that none of the hot liquid had fallen on her, the man had started apologising profusely.
“It’s alright, really. I should have been more aware of the surroundings.” As you continued to rock Colette, you finally looked up at whoever you had bumped into. He was very handsome, looked to be around your age, and was clearly worried that he had unknowingly hurt the small baby with you.
“No no, it’s my fault as well. I wasn’t paying attention at all. Please let me repay you, I would never forgive myself if I didn’t help you somehow.” He sounded so sincere you couldn’t help but take a bit of pity on him.
“I promise you, you don’t need to do anything. But if it would make you feel better, and if you don’t have anywhere to be right now, you could tag along with me while I finish my shopping.” He didn’t hesitate to agree, feeling bad enough as it was.
Noticing that Colette had calmed down now, you ran your hand down the back of her head and spoke to her as you put her back in the stroller.
“Tu vas bien maintenant Lette, Maman t'a eu.” (You’re okay now, Lette. Mummy’s got you.)
“Tu parles français?”  (You speak French?)
You looked at him as you resumed walking through the markets. “Oui. En plus de l'italien et de l'anglais, j'ai parlé français toute ma vie.” (Yes. Along with Italian and English, I have spoken French all my life)
“Abbiamo già due cose in comune.” His smile when he spoke in his mother tongue was gorgeous, but it had nothing on his smile when he spoke Italian. You couldn’t help but grin back at him. (We already have two things in common)
You continued talking with each other and by the end of the day you had learnt two very important things about him. His name was Arthur Leclerc and he was a Formula 2 racing driver for Ferarri’s Driver Academy. Eventually you had noticed it was getting late so you exchanged phone numbers to keep in touch and went back home.
That was almost five years ago and since then, Arthur had taken you on many dates, some alone and some with your daughter. He was there for almost all of her firsts. Her first words, first steps and even her first loose tooth. Eventually he asked if you wanted to be his girlfriend and, though you had hesitated at first, you had become official with him.
Arthur was over at your place playing with Colette when you heard someone knock on your door. You looked at each other confused as you weren’t expecting anyone tonight, your parents would’ve called ahead if they were going to come by. Getting up from your seat, you gave Arthur a kiss and kissed Colette’s head before going to answer your door.
The person standing behind it was very impatient as they kept knocking on the hardwood door.
“Arrivo subito, calmati.” You called as you unlocked the door and opened it. Seeing who it was, you almost closed it straight away if he hadn’t put his foot in the way to stop it. (I’ll be right there, calm down.)
“Cosa stai facendo qui?” You tried to keep your anger in check as you looked at him expectantly. (What are you doing here?)
“You know I don’t speak Spanish.”
“C'était italien, connard. What do you want?” Your patience was wearing thin. (That was Italian, asshole)
“I think you already know.” The bastard had the nerve to smirk when he spoke to you.
“You have no right to her. You signed those damn papers. Even if you hadn’t, you had six years to see her. Why now?”
“I was in the area. Thought I’d stop by.”
“Well, you stopped. Now you can go.” You kicked his foot none too gently and closed the door before he could continue. Locking the door, you turned and walked back to where your boyfriend and daughter were still playing. Taking note of the time, you gently ushered Colette to bed before you and Arthur also began getting ready to sleep.
There was no need to tell Arthur who was at your door, as your house was very open plan so he could hear the entire conversation from the living room. As you both laid down, he held you close and comforted you until you both fell asleep.
The next morning, you woke up before Arthur, seeing as you had to begin working. You were glad that you had started a home business because it meant that you didn’t need to make the commute to work through morning traffic. All you had to do was get dressed and sit down in your home office so you could start answering emails from customers about their packages arriving damaged.
Arthur had slept in a little that morning meaning that he was awoken by Colette climbing into your bed to lay next to him. When she saw he was awake, she nuzzled her face into his neck and he wrapped his arms around her gently.
“Can I talk to you?” She asked him. “Without Maman?”
Arthur was a little worried about what she wanted to talk about, as she hadn’t ever come to speak with him alone.
“But of course, Petit, what’s wrong?”
“I heard Maman talking to that man yesterday, and I know I’m still little and that Maman doesn’t talk about my Papa, but I know that was him.”
Arthur felt entirely out of his depth. He knew Colette was smart, he praised her constantly for it, but he hadn’t expected her to understand what happened the night before.
“Did it bother you that he came here?” Arthur was ready to hunt him down and tell him to never even think about you or Colette ever again.
“Not really. I know he helped Maman make me, but he’s not my real papa. It just made me think about something.”
“And what did you think about, Petit?”
“Would it be okay if I called you Papa? Je vois comment Grand-père rend Grand-mère heureuse, et tu rends Maman heureuse, alors je voulais te demander.” (I see how Grandpa makes Grandma happy, and you make Mummy happy, so I wanted to ask.)
Because the walls inside your home were very thin, you could hear the entire conversation between your daughter and your boyfriend. You were a little shocked at what she said but your heart swelled with more love than you thought possible when Arthur replied.
“I would be honoured for you to call me Papa.”

Roger Barel Main Route - Chapter 16
Tumblr media
As usual, can’t guarantee 100% accuracy on this. I’m doing this for archiving purposes and you can probably find a better translation out there.
Kate: …Nn…Where is this?
I regained consciousness on the cold floor.
(That’s right…I ended up smelling something that came from behind me…)
Tumblr media
(is this…a warehouse…somewhere?)
My head still felt heavy as I raised it, and stood up.
(I’m not tied up…)
I sighed in relief, but then—
Kate: …!
When I sensed a presence, I turned around and saw a boy and girl looking pale and trembling.
(Who are these kids?)
(...Could it be that—)
~~ Flashback ~~
Barkeep: These days you hear a lot of young men and women get attacked or go missing.
--
Liam: Lately, young people have been getting attacked or going missing.
Ellis: Do you mean the incidents Victor and Will are investigating?
~~ End flashback ~~
(...Did I end up getting involved in the incident?)
While I sat there in surprise, I suddenly heard footsteps from the darkness.
Man in a black hood: Looks like you’re all awake.
One, two, three, four men with black hoods over their eyes appeared.
(These were the criminals who attacked me…)
They each held either a gun or a knife.
(I thought I was glad that I wasn’t tied up…How naive)
The fact that I had such freedom meant that there was no way you’d get away.
Depending on what they do, my life could be taken instantly.
I went pale with fear and fell to my knees.
(Calm down…I’m a fairytale keeper trained by Roger)
(Out of everyone here, I’m the one most familiar with “evil”)
I felt for the gun strapped to my garter belt. Luckily that wasn’t taken away.
(Everyone should soon realize that I’ve disappeared)
And then Crown…Roger will come save me.
The evil Crown was the best group you could have as your ally.
(Besides, Crown’s been following this case)
(If they thought that saving me would help solve this case, then they’d be on it now)
I just had to wait.
(...I’ll need to buy some time)
(Or else…the kids and I—)
A shiver ran down my spine when it felt like the Grim Reaper was drawing near. I mustered up all my strength and stood in front of kids to protect them.
Kate: …Why are you doing this?
Man in a black hood: I don’t see a point in explaining ourselves to someone who’s about to die.
(“Someone who’s about to die”...)
Meaning they plan to kill us in the end.
(We’re not being held for ransom)
(They kidnap random youths)
(But…why would they kill all these people?)
I didn’t understand their intentions.
That made me anxious, and after putting all that effort into standing, my legs started shaking.
Look for a chance to escape
Beg for your life
Provoke him +4 +4
Kate: …It’s not like you’re going to let us run. If we’re waiting to die, then wouldn’t it be nice to have something to take with us to the afterlife? But if you can’t even give us that…then do what you want.
A look of annoyance crossed his face and he gulped audibly.
But the provocation did its job and the hooded man started to talk with an air of confidence.
Man in a black hood: In this world, there’s a thing called “being useless”. Withered flowers, abandoned buildings, dead people. However, there are some people who find value in these.
Kate: There are people who value us even after we die?
(I think…Roger and I had a conversation like this before)
~~ Flashback ~~
Kate: Roger, what’s this law written here in “Dissection Laws”?
Roger: As you know, medicine’s advancing pretty rapidly in England. With that comes a lot of dissections performed by doctors and researchers. Now here’s a question. What do you think the problem with this is?
Kate: …They run out of specimens to perform dissections on?
Roger: Correct. So then people go and collect human specimens however they can.
Kate: Ah, I’ve heard of people who dig up graves to steal corpses.
Roger: That’s why the “Dissection Law” was established to prevent that and ensure cadavers were acquired legally.
~~ End flashback ~~
(...Being regulated by law increases the shortage of human specimens)
That’s why they were killing young people.
Not for ransom.
But the corpses had value.
With this, I came to a conclusion—
Kate: Are you all doctors or researchers who need human specimens?
Man in a black hood: Oh? You’re clever…Who are you?
Kate: I don’t have a name to share.
Man in a black hood: Hmm, cheeky. You’re not entirely wrong, but… Let’s stop chatting. My client wants silent offerings.
The hooded man took something out.
What reflected the dim light dully was—
(A knife…)
--
Roger: This is supposed to be the base, but there’s nothing here…Did we get it wrong?
When they entered, the warehouse was only filled with silence and the smell of dust.
Nica: It’s too early to give up, no? These places tend to have dummies. Like hidden passageways or hidden doors.
Roger held up a finger to stop him from talking.
Tumblr media
Roger: …I can “hear” something. There are people in the basement.
Nica: Oh, so that’s abnormal hearing. I thought it had its limitations, but it’s pretty useful.
Ale: Arf arf.
Jude: The dumb dog found somethin’.
Picking up Ale who was sniffing around a wooden crate and moving said crate out of the way revealed—
Roger: A hidden passageway.
Nica: See, I knew it. That means you’re likely right.
They descended into the hidden passageway.
At the base of the stairs, a lone candle casted a shadow on the wall.
Roger: There’s no hiding spots though. Guess we’ll have to get out.
After they emerged, someone saw the shadows their shadows on the wall.
Man with mouth covered: …Who’s there!
10 men appeared, all with their faces covered by cloth.
Jude: Oi, quack. Keep goin’. Princess will be dead if ya don’t hurry.
Roger: …Jude
Jude: Huh? What’s with that face? It’s on your conscience if she dies. Go.
Roger: Sorry. I’ll waive your medical bill. Don’t die, Jude.
With that, Roger ran into the darkness.
Man with mouth covered: Hey, one’s running away. After him!.
The once quiet underground  space turned into a warzone full of angry shouts.
Nica: Oh, I caught something good. You might look mean, but you’re a quite the compassionate fellow aren’t you?
Jude: Don’t think ya got time to chat when you’re gettin’ attacked from behind.
Man with mouth covered: …Die!
Nica: …
Less than a second after noticing the shadow on a ceiling, a gunshot rang out from Nica’s hand.
He killed his target with precision without even looking.
Nica: Unfortunately, I’m not easy to kill. You chose the wrong people to fight.
Man with eyes covered: …Shit, I thought I had you…Gah.
Jude broke the man’s jaw with the tip of his shoe.
Jude: Shaddup.
Jude: …Who the hell are ya.
Cobalt blue eyes smiled at the cold gaze.
Nica: Nica Schwartz, a member of the German Empire’s Vogel. It’s cruel that you’ve forgotten after I’ve already introduced myself. I have a glass heart you know.
Jude: I’m not imaginin’ things when I say you’re too experienced for a mere lapdog. How’d you know ‘bout his abnormal hearin’?
Nica: Don’t worry, I know about you too. Jude Jazza, the president of a trading company. A company that deals in materials and food that don’t often face changes in demand, as well as luxury items and jewelry… You’re also skilled in handling what’s trending in the market. Having a diverse range of products limits risk, so you must be making a lot of money. …Want me to keep going?
Jude: Tch, all that snoopin’s makes me sick.
Nica: You need to know someone to get along with them. Don’t you think we’d get along, Mr. President?
Nica smiled suggestively. Then, multiple footsteps approached.
It appeared that the mens’ colleagues noticed that something unusual happened in the basement and assembled.
Tumblr media
Nica: It’s rude to interrupt when I’m trying to solicit* someone. Let’s finish you off quickly.
Jude: Careful I don’t kick you by accident, Vogel lech.
Nica: That’s my line.
--
Meanwhile—The noises underground haven’t reached the warehouse where the kidnapped youths were being held.
Man in a black hood: Let’s stop chatting. My client wants silent offerings.
Kate: …
I gasped at the dull glint of the knife.
Man in a black hood: Ah, yes. You lot, make sure they only get one stab in the stomach. Our client wants the bodies as clean as possible…Ugh, drugging would’ve been easier.
Another man had warned the man with the knife out.
(There are 4 people…My gun has seven rounds. I can take them)
(However)
—Am I able to kill people?
Kidnapped girl: *sob* …No, I don’t want to die…
Kidnapped boy: Me too…Getting killed…In a place like this…
(...Don’t be scared, don’t hesitate)
(They need to be condemned for taking so many lives)
To not arouse suspicion, I slowly reached under my skirt and then pulled out my gun.
(Roger gave me this gun for self-defense)
(But…Now’s the time to use it)
I hated myself for being weak.
I felt frustrated and wanted to change, so I decided to get stronger by being with Roger.
(Roger would definitely kill them all)
An image of him shouldering the guilt while taking however many lives with his rifle popped up in my mind.
(That’s why, I—these people, kill evil)
I held my gun up and placed a finger on the trigger.
(...)
But my finger was shaking—
Kate: Ah.
The bullet I resolved to fire went way off the mark and made a hole in the wall.
The hooded man turned at the sound and looked at me with my gun still aimed.
Man in a black hood: Pfft, hahahaha! You use a gun like a child playing with a toy.
Kate: Eek…
He grabbed my arm and took my gun away.
Man in a black hood: I’ll show you how you use a gun properly…When you want to kill someone.
Kate: …
The feeling of the barrel of the gun pressed against my temple was a firsthand lesson in the price of failure.
(Ah…Damn)
(So this is the end…)
The only sound I could hear was my own heartbeat, yet as I stared into the darkness, I wished that I could see Roger’s face one last time.
Tumblr media
(Farewell, Roger…)

There's a small burger joint near me. It's not one of those chains, which is sort of uncommon these days. Most of them are owned by some kind of insanely large corporation the size of a planet. This small place is good: it's not the best I've ever had, but it's cheap and it's on the way to the bad junkyard, and the owner is nice.
Here's what I like about it: it's still like one of the old-school drive-ins, at least in aesthetic. Those were all destroyed long before I came into this Earth, and nobody roller-skates up to your car to serve you the burger. It's more egalitarian, nowadays, and you gotta hoof it into the restaurant yourself or pay a dude $25 ($7 of which he keeps) to drive it to your house in his leased Mercedes.
Because it's a drive-in, though, it gets rid of the ugly decor that clogs most restaurants. Replaced by cars. In fact, some shadowy figure has begun an all-night, every-night classic car show there. Lots of fantastic Mopar products from about 1974 to 1983, when things started to get real bad in the heart of America. Cars are parked there every night, a mysterious judge issues a "best in show" award, and everyone has a good evening.
Of course, I can't guarantee that this translates to sales. Sure, it looks very busy, and I'm sure that convinces passing non-classic cars that "the burgers must be good there," but I'm no marketer. You'd have to ask my cousin, who conveniently is unavailable at the moment due to some legal complications with his work visa.
Hell, I'm not even involved. I just love a good burger, and approximately 35-1/2 parking spaces' worth of places to shove old cars for a couple hours without the fuzz getting too interested. It's really hard to find swap space these days, what with all the neighbourhood streets bulging with hoopties. Why don't you stop asking those questions and come on by the burger joint? It's authentic and real, not at all like the mysterious offshore corporation that owns and self-insures all those decrepit cars.
