WIP excerpt for lee; "taur rider Timkon". (( chrono || non-chrono ))
Of the strays he’s collected over the years, Bruce Wayne has a traveler acrobat who was himself orphaned in front of all of Bristol, a dead street urchin from the slums of Gotham who no one speaks of in his presence, and–technically–Tim.
Dick Grayson lives in Bludhaven now; works for their city guard and has no interest in governing Bristol or Gotham, now or ever. Jason Todd–the only one Bruce actually adopted–might’ve been a scholar or a priest if he’d lived, or might’ve been a true heir to Bruce’s title, despite his origins in Gotham’s gutters. Tim . . .
Tim is . . . convenient, he supposes.
His mother was the daughter of a duke, and his father married her, and together they became the Duke and Duchess of Drake. Their estate and lands are barren and empty and mostly whittled down to nothing now, and all their wealth is long gone.
But Timothy, son of Jack, still has his mother’s blood, and he is still the Duke of Drake.
That means something, to the nobility. Something Tim doesn’t really know how to value for himself, except as a resource to be used or an advantage to be pressed. Dick doesn’t have that, and Jason is dead, and if Bruce Wayne ever wants to rule Gotham, he’s going to require an heir the nobility will accept as adequate enough to tolerate.
So Tim is convenient.
He supposes.
At least if they want Gotham to survive her prince’s next homecoming, anyway.

I thought it had a good balance of, you know, despite the cringe worthy Mr. Turner joke, which at the time we thought was hysterical. But you look back as an adult and you're like, oh, that's so harsh. -Will
I know. Why couldn't they, I mean, maybe Tony didn't wanna come back or wasn't able to come back. He was working on something. -Daniell
I don't think they ever asked him. -Will
He should have come back. I mean me having a Jonathan, goodbye. I mean, if that's what this is about is me graduating and saying goodbye to my school. -Rider
And why Is he not sitting there with all the teachers and everything. I don't think they asked him. -Will
It's a huge..Yeah. It's a huge hole. That's a really Yeah. -Rider
Missed opportunity. -Danielle

For the comic nerds:
I have a working theory for something I’m a bit obsessed with, and am hoping there are enough eyes and ears still here to hear me
So, one of my all-time favorite comic book characters is Ghost Rider. Johnny, Danny, Alejandra, not so much Robbie just because the source of his powers is weak af but that muscle car is untouchable, so whatever.
And you can’t beat the look - a flaming skeleton, dressed head to toe in pure, vintage-metal-esque spiked leather, riding a flaming motorcycle. It makes sense that the comics only survived on visuals and not story.
Then there’s that nonsense of GR’s story, and the origin of its powers. In the original line he had made a deal with Satan, which was later retconned to Mephisto, Marvel’s cheap, domesticated knockoff. And at their peak, GR was strong enough to take on any and all of the Avengers single handed, including Hulk; the only thing stopping Hulk from being incinerated being GR’s code - only persecute the guilty, protect the innocent. Given that Hulk was attacking guilty parties, GR backed out from lack of interest but that’s a whole other story.
My point, now, is as rumors are going around about The Rider finally joining the MCU - yeah, Robbie (and possibly Johnny) in Agents of Shield is a thing, but also, no - how does a character that sources its powers from the Judeo-Christian pantheon fit into this world?
This world that already includes mythical characters from Norse (Thor, Loki, etc.), Egyptian (Black Panther/Bast, Moon Knight/Khonsu), Chinese (Fenghuang, Hundun), and Greek mythology (Zeus, Hercules, versions of The Immortals), but the only mentioning of Christianity (that I remember) is that one line from the first Avengers film - also notably pre-Disney - when Cap says “there’s only one god.” One might also consider nods from Dr. Strange mentioning the Keys of Solomon, which take inspiration from Judaism, Roman Pagan, and early Christian beliefs.
My theory is that they cannot introduce Ghost Rider straight from the comics to the MCU for a few reasons: maybe it’s the Superman problem, where the character is too strong to give a fitting challenge; or, my personal favorite, they don’t want to put Christianity on the same level and Norse mythology, or Greek, or Egyptian because maybe, for a big company like Disney, it’s fine to make a story about those religions because they’re just stories, but they consider Abrahamic religions as truth, and therefore feel less comfortable putting that into works of fiction.
This may be part of why Blade is taking so long too, since vampires are abominations and cannot walk into the light of “God.”
I guess this is more of a rant that a question. I really want to enjoy when Ghost Rider joins the fray, but I have consistently been let down by Disney Marvel as of late, and have little to no hope for their future. I mean, how can a character that literally killed “capital-G” God in the comics, who is stronger than Thor and Hulk, immune to the powers of Strange, fit into this world?
P.S., was Christian God retconned in the comics to The One Above All?
TLDR: Disney is kinda Christian, Ghost Rider is loosely based from Christianity. Does including him in the MCU make Judeo-Christian mythology equal to fiction in the eyes of Disney, hence their hesitance to include it?

🚨SPOILERS FOR FANTASY HIGH JUNIOR YEAR EPISODE 6🚨
Dimension20 "Fantasy High Junior Year"
Episode 6 "Party Politics"
Timestamp: 1:18:17
Video Length: 2min. & 45sec.
Broken Cloud Rider Engine (Pt. 1 | ‣Pt. 2)
Gorgug: "I feel like someone just pushed him into the machine, 'cause he's so blazed."
Fig: "Who was he down there with? Do you have security cameras?" *points to Fabian*
Lou: "Does my dad have security cameras?"
Brennan: "Yeah. If you run it back, you see there's people down there. There's a bunch of kids down there. You don't see any of the Rat Grinders."
Emily: "Mm-hm."
Brennan: "The kids are down there, they're smoking, they're talking, and after a certain point, you see a bunch of ice mephits fly in and start ginning up the kids. Start getting the kids ginned up and rowdy, and then they start wrestling. The ice mephits are nut tapping people and blowing frost on their faces, just getting people riled up."
(Siobhan's face when Brennan mentioned the ice mephits! 💀✋)
Emily: "This would be very, very convenient if you're a conjuration wizard and you wanted to imitate someone else."
Siobhan asks if Adaine can tell if the ice mephits are hers. 👀
Brennan asks for an arcana check. It'll be hard to tell just by looking through a security camera. 🥲
Siobhan rolls a 13 arcana 😭✋
Brennan: "Unfortunately, as far as you can tell, these are your ice mephits."
Adaine apologizes to Fabian. Fabian says that it's fine.
Ally: "They just get everyone excited, and then someone accidentally–?"
Brennan: "You see a couple of the ice mephits join in to tip the box over.
Investigation checks as everyone sees the box get tipped over! DC25! 😭✋
Riz gets a 21 😭
Brennan: "You're looking at it. Mephits, a couple of wrestling kids in the basement. Box goes over. Something." 🥲🥲🥲
Murph: "Okay, something that helps you fly."
Fig tells Fabian that he needs to stay on the Ivy beat and asks if he's willing to do it. 💀💀
Fabian says he is! 😂💀
Ally to Murph: "Did they[Rat Grinders] steal it for their adventuring party?"
Gorgug to Fabian about Ivy 😂: "You might have to go out on dates with her." 🤣😭💀
Fabian: "I'll do that. Yeah, I'm down."
Murph's "I'VE REALIZED SOMETHING" FACE! 😭✋
Ally to Murph: "Are they[Rat Grinders] gonna use it?"
Murph: "Wait a second. All of the...Everyone...This has not anything to do with the little machine that was stolen, but people from their team wanted us...Max, who was acting strange, everyone wanted us to do drugs. Is it possible they're trying to get us kicked out of our various clubs?"
Zac: "I think Kipperlilly was here."
Ally: "Trying to get us kicked out? Oh!"
Zac: "Trying to get a picture of us taking drugs."
Murph: "Yep. Yep."
Siobhan: "Are we not supposed to take drugs? We murder people."
Emily: "Would we get in trouble?"
Siobhan: "We're now allowed to take drugs?"
Zac: "Maybe if you're running for office."
Brennan: "Well, here's the thing. It never would've been a problem when Arthur Aguefort was principal."
Fabian: "Did any of us do drugs?"
Adaine: "You did!" 😭✋
Riz: "No, you said you were going to, and then you were interrupted."
Zac: "Snuff is just tobacco, right?"
Lou: "Yeah, snuff's, I mean-"
Fig to Kristen: "You never actually went down, right?"
Kristen: "No, I never went."
Adaine: "And we were drinking, which is illegal."
Fig to Kristen: "You almost did."
Fabian: "Oh, it's milk. It's bad baby milk. It's mostly milk."
