Thinking about Venti's role as an archon and how he might be doing his job- as Celestia intended- better than we think.
Archons, in Gnosticism, rule over the material realm and prevent souls from leaving it. Barbatos, in the Ars Goetia, "reconciles disputes between friends and those who hold power".
Everything we know about Venti implies that he hates Celestia and opposes all forms of tyranny, but if their goal is to keep humanity from advancing, realising the truth of the world and taking actions that could threaten the status quo...
...isn't the best way to prevent rebellions and slow progress to make the people you rule content with what they have?
Venti is all about making his people's lives leisurely and seemingly free (I'll get to that in a second). It's in his gemstone quote, the thing which summarises his approach as an archon:
"Still, the winds change direction. "Someday, they will blow towards a brighter future… "Take my blessings and live leisurely from this day onward."
We see this reflected in Mondstadt's culture and economy. There are still hardworking individuals in the Knights of Favonius, the Church of Favonius and the Adventurer's Guild, but this attitude isn't universal even within those organisations and the rest of Mondstadt's people generally have a slow, relaxed approach to life relative to other nations. They haven't produced any internationally notable industries outside of alcohol, and why would they? They have everything they need, graciously provided by the anemo archon himself*, so why strive for more?
This has already left them vulnerable to the whims of more powerful nations, incapable of meaningfully opposing the Fatui without inviting consequences they can't handle.
*Also see Jean's story quest for a scaled-down version of this. Mondstadt's general population relies on her hard work a bit too much and she enables them.
We also see Mondstadt have a softening effect on outsiders multiple times in-game. There are at least three cases of people questioning their life choices because its people and/or scenery are that nice. Two are branches of hangout events, one is a soon-to-be-ex treasure hoarder chilling on Cider Lake's coast. I've joked that Mond is a lotus eater hotel scaled up to a nation based on this, but what if that's somewhat intentional?
But why would he do this?
It could be an unintended side effect of efforts to improve people's quality of life. He was allegedly naive enough not to forsee the aristocracy situation, after all. But at the same time... he's a god of freedom and hope in a world where his people have no hope of freedom.
Tumblr media
-Harmost's Notes (II), Remuria.
He knows what happens to human civilisations that advance too far and attempt to rebel against this world. He likely knows a god much like him, themed around music and desperate to free his people from fate, tried and failed horribly. He lives in the shadow of a celestial needle. The Cataclysm would only reinforce this perceived futility of resistance. He still hopes for a brighter future, but he may be pinning all of his hopes on a descender taking pity on Teyvat's people and choosing to help them. To quote the description of Mondstadt Statues of the Seven:
A monumental stone statue that watches over Mondstadt. Legends say that it was sculpted in the image of the Anemo Archon. "Seeds brought by the wind will grow over time." The statue silently anticipates the arrival of a noble soul to arrive, while thousand winds of time will soon unfold a new story...
Apart from that, what else can he do besides be passive and complacent? Besides make his people comfortable and hope they don't rock the boat too much before liberation is actually possible?
And the thing about resolving disputes with those in power worries me. It could just translate into his pacifism, but it could also mean he's less willing to act against Celestia than we'd hope. Why did the Tsaritsa, the only archon named after a saint and willing to take a stand against Celestia, fall out with him? He has reasons to be pissed at her methods but I suspect that won't be the only factor.
All we can do is wait and see.

Golden Chain AU: Worldbuilding
Hello! It's time I already shared these notes that have been sitting in my drive for ages - I wrote them in 2019!
Since I decided to gather everything in one post, it's going to be long, so read under the cut!
1. The basics
Name of the country: Great Kingdom of Hyrule
Regions: Central Hyrule, Hebra, Akkala, Eldin, Necluda, Lanayru, Faron, Gerudo.
Capital: Castletown.
Insular territories: Eventide Island, Tenoko Island, Wintre Island, Lanayru Sea Archipelago (Tingel, Ankel, Knuckel and Davide islands), Lomei Island.
Official Language: Hylian.
Measuring system: metric, established by Queen Zelda V (Botw) during Hyrule Restoration/Renaissance.
Approximate size: Hyrule is a small continent in itself. Every region has around 60-100k km2.
Population: around 30 million people. The population growth was really slow after the calamity (population was barely on the thousands)
Neighbors: Termina to the north (Frontier checkpoint is North Lomei/Deplian Badlands lol), Calatia to the Southwest (Checkpoint: Tanagar Canyon/Hemaars Descent). Both countries are considerably smaller, but developed and have active trade with Hyrule.
Time usage: 24-hour, sexagesimal system.
Seven day weeks. Naming convention:
Monday-Nayday
Tuesday- Twiliday
Wednesday- Wingsday
Thursday- Faesday
Friday- Faronday
Saturday- Timeday
Sunday- Dinsday
13 months of 28 days (lunar calendar), the remaining day is New Year’s.
National flower: Silent Princess
National motto: Post Tenebras Lux (After Darkness, Light comes)
Flag: Hylian crest in gold over three bands (green, blue, red)
Anthem: none, but Zelda's lullaby is the only tune associated to the kingdom.
Demonym: Hyrulean for them all, but also are used the ones describing regions/races: Hebran, Rito, Akkalan, Goron, Eldinian, Faroner, Hatenite, Necludan, Kakaricon, Fielder (central Hyrule), Towners (Castletown).
2. Historical structure
The kingdom of Hyrule counts years since its foundation, everything previous (pre and skyward sword) is prehistory, since there were no written records. Year zero is the crowning of the first king of Hyrule - the grandson of Sksw Link and Zelda. The establishment of the monarchy leads to a dynasty that is interrupted by the Calamity.
The modern history of Hyrule begins when the Hero of the Wild saves the kingdom, and the monarchy is re-established under agreement of the remaining settlements, tribes and kingdoms, bringing another Golden Age that ended with the reign of king Rhoam II, father of the “Bastard Queen” - Zelda’s grandmother Zelda (born Viridiana).
3. Political and internal organization
The Kingdom is a constitutional monarchy and the regent is active in politics, as head of the state/executive power. The King/Queen is also the Commander in Chief of Hyrule's Self-Defense Forces (HSDF), comprised by:
Knights of Hyrule
Gerudo Guard
Royal Guard
Zora Guard
Goron Fighters (army and spec ops such as rescue and first response stuff)
Coast guard (Navy)
Air Rangers (Air Force, led mostly exclusively by Rito Warriors)
Civil Guard (police, firefighters, lifeguards)
Each one of the branches of the HSDF has a leader, commanded by the ruler in power.
People who want to join the HSDF enter Hyrule's knight academy, and undergo training for four years (two years basic training, two years specialization), and rotate through the regiments.
Hyrule's intelligence is the Sheikah. They sort of separated the Sheikah as institution from the warrior clan, but it's still comprised mostly by them. They also develop a lot of technology for civilian and industrial/defense purposes.
The legislative power lies on the 150 representatives of the High Council, elected every five years, with only one re-election term. They have a president, elected to represent them all during official acts. Name of current president: Rhett Groose.
The King/Queen besides the council has a set of ministers to assess them more directly, chosen after receiving nameless dossiers (blind selection). They stay in their positions until the ruler deems necessary. Longest length of ministries have been under Zelda VI’s reign: her initial cabinet stayed with her for over fifteen years.
Each region has a governor, Except for Lanayru, Eldin, Gerudo, in which the Chief/Regent of the tribe is the highest political authority.
The King/Queen is the highest ranking civil servant of the country. The house of Hyrule has ruled more or less steadily for 500 years after the Calamity.
The crown has a matriarchal rule.
The firstborn by birthright inherits the crown, but if at any point before the current ruler passes away or abdicts, the title goes to the next of kin - preferentially a daughter of the house.
Upon coronation, the ruler names a cabinet of ministers, and designs a knight to be their champion.
Five years after coronation, the citizens evaluate the ruler through a binding referendum. If the ruler is disapproved (over 60% reprobation), they are forced to terminate their rule and the next of kin takes the crown (every prince and princess receives the same education to be fit to rule). This measure can be invoked anytime again during the reign, through the people themselves, who have to bring the request through the high council. Queen Zelda V put this measure to avoid abuse of power and tyranny from the crown.
3.Towns and Cities
The cities are mostly the same settlements after the Calamity, and some others were recovered, turning into boroughs of larger cities, or small towns. Several new towns match the former stables they were once.
Hebra: Snowfield, Rito Village, Pondo’s Lodge
Eldin: Goron City, Foothill Town, Shadow Hamlet
Akkala: Tarrey Town, East Town, South Town
Lanayru: Zora’s Domain
Necluda: Kakariko Village, Hateno Town, Dueling Peaks Town
Faron: Lurelin Town, Lakeside Town, Highland Town
Gerudo: Gerudo Town, Canyon Town.
Central Hyrule: Outskirt Town, Riverside Town, Gatepost Town, Outpost Town, East Post Town, Deya Village, Rauru Town, Serenne Town, Castletown.
Great Plateau: Eastern Abbey Village
The capital of the Kingdom grew massive after the restoration period ended, and has several boroughs: The Quarry, Mabe, LonLon, Civic Center (formerly Castletown jail), Downtown (divided in Upper-Lower West/Upper-Lower East side).
4. National Parks and protected areas
Hyrule takes extreme care of its environment, not only because of ecology, but also because nature is sacred for being one of Farore’s gifts. Zelda VI (Viridiana) had to undo several older laws regarding industrialization, because they weren't sustainable and would destroy nature and the balance long term.
Main parks:
Hebra Mountains
Hyrule Great Forest (Deku Tree, sacred site)
Eldin Canyon/Death Mountain
Deep Akkala (Spring of Power)
Mount Lanayru (Spring of Wisdom)
Farone great forest & lake Floria (the green lung of Hyrule)
Gerudo desert (specifically some archaeological sites)
Pillars of Levia
Tanagar Canyon
Oseira plains
5. Economy
Hyrule’s currency is still the Rupee, abbreviated Rp. It’s still used in the same physical form, and fifty years from the start of the story in digital form, for electronic transactions and such.
Since for a long time the country lived barely there during the Calamity, people worked strongly to have self-sustainable communities, and this remained as a trait of the economy, which is circular: there is a strong repair - reuse - recycle culture. Zelda does a lot of thrift shopping, not only because she’s a cheapskate, but because it’s most common for the average citizen. Link has mostly new clothes because he uses tech gear (and due to his size he needs to get things custom made).
Communities generate their own energy, having a clean energy plant in their regions, all connected for a general supply if needed (Hebra has windmills, Gerudo solar panels and so on).
Hebra produces wood for construction, paper and others, central Hyrule, cattle and dairy, faron does agriculture, and fishing, lanayru manages water and electricity (hydroelectric plant in upland Zorana), Eldin does all mining and manufacture, Akkala and Necluda do Farming and agriculture besides industrial activity (Sheikah tech). Gerudo produces fabrics, glassware, tapestry, and luxury items, such as jewelry, high fashion clothes, etc.
Tourism is another of Hyrule's forte. People travel a lot, whether nationals or foreigners. The crown has always incentivated tourism (although they do not travel for leisure often, specially Zelda, who only knows Gerudo Town and Kakariko).
Monopolies are illegal, and the law establishes limits to the riches people can gain to avoid inequality gaps.
Taxes are according to income, and the return is very low, since they finance social insurance, health and education, and basic housing, which is free and universal.
Private property is allowed, and the trade is free but overseen by the state. Excess accumulation of riches is frowned upon - and researched by the Internal Revenue Service of Hyrule’s Treasury.
The minimum wage is for minimum work, but still a livable wage.
6.Spirituality
Hyrule as a secular state has no official religion. The church of Hylia is the most important one though, for Hylia is the guardian Goddess of the land, besides the Golden Three, the mother Goddesses.
The cult is very lax and open, pretty much like Shinto, with small shrines scattered across the land, taken care of by a Sheikah monk, or a priest or priestess of Hylia. The priests/ess hold no particular vow. They train for their duty at the great plateau complex. Zelda is a priestess of Hylia due to her powers, but she only partakes in certain rites, like funerals, weddings, and naming ceremonies.
People worship certain things/values associated with the Goddesses: Nature is revered for it is Farore's gift, same with education for Nayru, and martial discipline for Din (sorta like Greek areté/Roman Virtus). Hylia's attribute is spiritual enlightenment.
The Sage head of the great plateau complex is the highest spiritual authority in Hyrule along the high priestess of Hylia (role fulfilled by the ordained daughters of the royal line.)
7.Magic
By definition is the ability to use the energy that surrounds us in order to defend oneself or others. Most of the time invoking natural forces, like in the case of Din’s Fire, or akin to it.
Magic generated with the purpose of malicious harm, torture, cursing is considered dark magic and deemed forbidden. Exception: Zelda’s Phantom.
Magic has a set of rules:
use it for self preservation or to protect others, never for harm.
actions have consequences of equal dimension.
clear and pure intention must always be behind it, you cannot use it for evil purposes or illegal gain.
You cannot revive the dead. Necromancy is taboo.
The golden rule: what magic gives, magic takes, aka Equivalent Exchange. For a magic user to grow or earn power (such as unlocking sealing magic/the Triforce) they must let go of something as a sort of tribute.
Glamour spells are used as camouflage in certain occasions (like undercover missions), mostly by Sheikah agents.
There are incredibly few magic users nowadays in Hyrule: some Sheikah (less than ten, and mostly on glamour spells. Impa is one of them), Sage Rauru, and Princess Rutela of the Zora, a renowned healer (skilled, but not to the level of her aunt Mipha, who could almost bring people from the verge of death).
8. Culture
Common customs:
Every baby has a naming ceremony, ten days after their birth.
When children turn 10, there’s a small celebration about cherishing childhood, related to the hero of time. Kids (no matter the gender) wear green.
Coming of age is at 17. It is celebrated in a formal fashion, with a sort of party that is halfway between a graduation and a debutante ball. Zelda hated it because she felt like she was a walking meringue pie with her formal dress.
Gerudo
The structure of their society is matriarchal. Men generally have the role of caretakers, and do housework. Before the Calamity they were kept out of town, but after it, they were welcomed, incorporating to their society, participating in a more domestic fashion.
Since men were scarce or away, lesbian/pan relationships are completely normal. Women would take a concubine to procreate, or adopt. Now it's IVF and/or adoption.
Clothing is genderless for them, there’s no "feminine" or " masculine" style. The basic garments are linen caftans and pants, very colorful, and use lots of jewels. They are considered the most stylish and fashionable amongst the peoples of Hyrule.
They are extremely polite and well-mannered. You’ll never see a Gerudo cursing, lest in public. For the same reason, they are the best diplomats and speakers. Gorons are always thankful of how easy to understand they are.
They tend to be politely distant with strangers, but once they warm up to them, they are ride or die, brethren for life.
They were the first to recognize a third gender, and call them “vae” (portmanteau of vai+voe). The word permeated throughout the land. Vae covers all non-conforming gender expressions.
They are the masters of women’s studies, health, pregnancy and childrearing. If you have fertility issues, no matter the race, you go to see a Gerudo Ob-gyn, they’re the best.
Sand seals are still the region’s mascot.
Their cuisine is always flavorful, spicy, and fragrant - they will silently judge you if you don't season your food properly.
Youngsters at seventeen - last year of hs- go into a compulsory exchange program, equivalent to when the tribe women left the town to see the world.
Gerudo weddings have a very romantic ritual: couples meet under the full moon on Lover's Pond and eat a pomegranate together before the wedding. On the wedding day, after taking their vows (written on their own), one of their spouses takes the other on a ride around the town.
Funerals last a week: after a day of wake, the ceremony is held, then the body is cremated. At the seventh day, the ashes are thrown to the desert. After that, relatives stop wearing mourning clothes. They keep a small shrine at home with a picture and burning incense.
Live the same as humans, with an average of 85 years.
Rito
Very art-focused, they excel in music, but are into all arts and crafts as well. Every Rito knows to sing and play at least one instrument.
They used to be a very formal society regarding gender roles (women were discouraged into participating in martial arts and combat), but they slowly changed.
The Rito still have the tradition of a Village Bard. The current bearer of the position is Sagi Blackwing, father of Taka, Marshall of the Air Rangers.
Rito elect their chief democratically, and they have indefinite reelection terms.
They are very blunt and straightforward in nature, despite their graceful forms and manners. Gorons like that.
They are pescetarians. Fowl is kinda taboo, but will eat game or beef if necessary.
Rito families are very large. When a Rito sees another one somewhere, they say “I’m from the [insert family name] of [insert place]”, similarly to Scottish clans.
Weddings are lavish and have a very colorful party with lots of music and dancing.
Births have a very domestic celebration, but they go all over when their little ones learn to fly.
Funerals are very solemn. They burn the body, and throw the ashes to the wind, as the bard plays a beautiful requiem.
They live around 60-80 years.
Zora
Due to their status as the most long-lasting of the Hyrulean species, they are the keepers of the history of Hyrule, in charge of records and archives outside the castle.
Said records are kept in stone, like they have done for ages. But they use digital copies too nowadays.
They still pretty much have the same structure they had before and after the Calamity.
They have a strong sense of collectivity and equality. The ruler never takes political actions without the agreement of their subdits.
They excel in arts, history, and traditional martial arts.
Mostly pescetarian. They tolerate chicken, but don't eat red meat.
Masters of water sports and swimming. King Sidon is still the diving and swimming champ of the Domain - he still teaches the little ones to swim, “just like my sister taught me”.
King Sidon is the longest living individual being in the land with 605 years of age, he has the honorary title of “Venerable Sage”. He says he probably is going to be ready to pass onto the Sacred Realm when he sees “another Link being a Hylian Champion”.
They love being verbose. The Gorons have difficulty to understand them sometimes.
They are not so favorable of interspecies relationships, because of their longevity/ past history of tragic relationships.
Births are warmly celebrated. When Princess Rutela was born, the celebration lasted a month.
The funeral of a Zora is epic: they go Viking, and after a wake and a ceremony, they burn the body on a raft on the Lanayru sea. After that, the family hosts a feast to celebrate the departed.
Goron
You don’t have a family? 100% chance you’re getting adopted by them. Say hi to your 94976937832 new brothers.
Prepare to eat rocks, literally.
They don’t get puns unless they are rocky. Nor double entendres, so communication always has to be very clear and literal with them. They get along wonderfully with the Gerudo/Rito because of this, not so much with the Zora. Hylians/humans and Sheikah have to explain always things twice.
They reproduce asexually. They all come from the “mother rock”, a sort of nursery cave near the caldera of Death Mountain (a la Kindergarten from Steven Universe). They are all aces.
They use “goro goro” as pet word.
They have an almost childlike sense of wonder; they are super warm, open and welcoming to everyone.
They practice tough love, in the sense a goron hug is really tight. Like, you’ll be kinda dizzy for a solid 15 minutes.
They choose their chief through a trial of strength.
Goron sumo is the national sport, followed closely by goron golf.
They still don’t understand why all other races use those shiny rocks that are inedible (i.e. rubies, sapphires, diamonds, etc.). They say “why do you like to wear rubbish?” - I guess someone’s garbage is someone else’s treasure, bro.
Never interrupt an argument between two Gorons. It's RUDE.
They live around a hundred years. When they are about to die, they go back to the mother rock, to the same book they came from, and they fuse with it, giving way to the formation of another goron. They don't make a big deal over it, since they say 'brother went back to our mother'.
Hylian/Human
The only difference between a Hylian and a human is the ears. Who proved that? Science. It's a mutation. Deal with it. Thus, they have gotten over this complex of “race blessed by the goddesses” that existed until before the Calamity - except for a handful of twits.
Humans were scarce during the Calamity, but they slowly reappeared. The current rate is 55% Hylian, 45% human. They are more an ethnicity than a race.
Hospitality is very important for everyone, ever since the Calamity. There is always a spare room or couch to crash in, and there is always a seat at the table for anyone who needs it.
Every family acquaintance is dubbed "aunt/uncle/entle (nb term)".
Learned a lesson from the Gerudo and the Sheikah, and broke gender barriers to the point sports are not divided by gender.
Hylians are specialists in bakery and pastries. During the Restoration, hylians took to heart to recover the culinary traditions of central Hyrule.
Because of their love of carbs, they don't mind a bit of roundness around the edges (a chubby girl is dubbed 'a tiny Goddess', after the goddess statues)
Weddings are simple, mostly held at the house of a relative doing written vows, or a city hall one, to be later crowned with a feast with plenty of food, and a huge wedding cake.
Funerals are short, one day of wake, one day of funeral. The body is cremated, and the ashes put in a box that goes to a small grave relatives visit oftentimes.
The life span is in average 85-90 years.
Sheikah
"Pure" Sheikah do not exist. They can be mostly Sheikah, but they are mixed. Despite that, their genetic features (white hair, reddish brown eyes) are strong, and tend to be passed down.
Matriarchal society. The chief is almost always a woman, although male chiefs have existed, such as Lord Shigure, father of Impaz, current chief.
They still use their traditional clothes most of the time, and/or mix them with modern ones.
They still prefer traditional housing over modern buildings, at least at a residential/suburban level. The manor of the chief is built in traditional style too, and it's located at the center of the city. It's the oldest building in Necluda, and one of the oldest in modern Hyrule.
They cultivate traditional martial arts and other combat techniques, besides science (Akkala and Hateno labs are the tech centers).
Prepare to eat pumpkins in everything. And rice. And apple pie.
Extremely respectful of other people in general. They are amazing hosts. Their parties are incredible.
Weddings are very symbolic and full of rituals. The Sheikah chief offices it. Bride and groom meet each other at the gates of a shrine along their families, and the chief "merges" them by tying the bride and groom's hands with a red ribbon. Then both drink rice wine from the same cup, and then received the blessings of the Goddesses and the spirits of the land. Once married, they parade around the shrine along the whole family. At the gate the receive another blessing, as their families are now one.
Funerals are very solemn. They burn the body and bury the ashes at the cemetery, placing a jizo/goddess statue on top of it. Kakariko cemetery is the largest and most ancient of the country. Even the Royal family used to be buried there.
Their life span is the longest among humanoid species: 150 years.
9. Holidays
Hyrule has 6 big holidays:
“Day without time”: New Year, coincides with Spring Equinox, because of association with rebirth. People gather at home and feast on a big family dinner. One hour before midnight, all lights are out everywhere, and stay like that until midnight, where the royal family rings the bell of the castle at the same time as the new Temple of Time and light a torch that is used to light paper lamps, and get released to the sky. Everyone does the same at home with candles, and welcome the new year going to shrines/temple (if they are believers) or spend the day with their families - making resolutions you generally never accomplish or wishes at the temple is a funny tradition for everyone. Flower arrangements are the key decoration for the event, and goddess statues all over wear wildflower garlands, generally made by children. Zelda and Link love this holiday because they get to eat to their heart’s content. She also enjoys touring kids over the royal gardens - the great plateau temples and the Castle are fully open for visitors, King Daphnes and Queen Amaya welcoming them personally along Zelda, an activity that reinforces their image of “down to earth” royalty. Celebration lasts 5 days (it’s the two previous days, new year’s, the two following days to recover lol).
Summer Solstice/ Midsummer: Everybody loves this holiday because it’s all about having fun in the sun: people go on picnics, to the parks, or to the beach/lakes. Maypoles are placed everywhere, and a huge one is set in Hyrule Castle. Zelda hates the festivity because she sweats like a pig in a suit - it’s one of her official outings and has to dress formally, then change into an elaborate gown with floral motifs and a flower crown. Link loves it because he likes outdoor activities (and Zelda looking like a forest goddess). Similar to Japanese Obon (almost nobody works in the entire week). Goddess Statues are decorated with braided ribbons (blue, red, green).
Autumn Equinox/Harvest Festivities: Fall celebration is focused on thanking Farore for a good harvest, so the theme is gratitude… and food. Cornucopias are everywhere - so is anything pumpkin (Kakariko made a good campaign some decades ago to market their most beloved fall crop), and apple cider. Goddess Statues are decorated with offerings of apples and warm colored Akkala maple branches. The ugly sweater season begins - Link LOVES THEM.
Winter solstice/ The Longest Night: This is a celebration focused on the “light in the dark”: in the daytime, people go to cemeteries to pay respects to their dead, and after 6 pm people gather around to have nice evenings with friends and family, dining, baking treats, and drinking eggnog. People light bonfires on parks and gather around in the evening, singing folk songs, and houses are decorated with fairy lights, and paper lamps they buy for the occasion and keep one of them lit through winter until day of remembrance. Horrid thematic sweaters are almost mandatory, stars and snowfolk being the most common thematic (Link loves them; ironically for a desert child, he likes snow). Celebration lasts over the weekend.
Day of remembrance: third day of the third moon. A very solemn celebration regarding all the people that died during the Calamity, and the survival of all the races. It's tied with the Winter solstice and new year rites. People leave the now unlit paper lamps used through winter solstice, and garlands of silent princesses (they bloom all year round) as offerings at the memorial in Castletown square, fort Hateno, Akkala Citadel, Zora's domain, and the Temple of Time. Those lamps then are gathered and used in the new year.
Day of victory: celebration of the end of the calamity and the establishment of the new kingdom. Castle opens gates and all people dress up in historical costumes of the time. Zelda lives for this shit. Happens during the second week of the eighth month.
There are other regional celebrations, but they are not as relevant as those.
Music day (Rito): 22nd day of the eleventh moon
Goron Bowl (Goron sumo tournament finale, not a holiday in itself, but they go big about it): 28th of the second moon.
Guardian Mothers' day (Gerudo): 7th of the fifth moon
Champion festival (Zora): 14th of the sixth moon.
Other, more general celebrations exist (Teachers’ day, science day, arts day, etc), but they are not holidays.
On the legend of the hero
The relevance of the legends is very important, but has reached a status of pop culture staple, like the Greek gods. Reversions and reinterpretations of the legends are commonplace in media.
The childhood ceremony revolves around the legend of the child heroes, who wore bright green.

That's all, sorry not sorry for the wall of text, I hope you find this interesting and complements your reading!

An Introduction to the False Peace
It has been fifty years since the Final Armistice was signed, ending the Long War that consumed the world for three centuries, plunging mankind from its very height into a new dark age.
In its aftermath, the nations of old are gone, replaced with vast swathes of desolate and inhospitable nothing punctuated only by ancient installations and the gleaming spires of the City-States.
Sanctuary and Citadel in one, the City-States are massive, heavily protected fortresses each enclosing thousands of square miles, housing a population of millions, as well as the industry required to sustain them. They are everything to those who live within: Safety from roving bandits and scavengers, Shelter from the fearsome and enigmatic storms that kill and mutate with fell energies, and a chance to Survive, in the last remaining bastions of civilization in a ruined world.
However, humanity is not content within these confines. Even as the dust settles, and storms of esoteric energy ravage the world, corporations and City-States are growing bolder and bolder in seeking conflict, driven by greed, ambition, and a lust for conquest. Despite the best efforts of the valiant Knights of Svalbard, equipped with unimaginably powerful technology from the World that Was and charged with the task of safeguarding human life, total war seems an inevitability.
In this time of False Peace, everyone has a hidden agenda, and those with power are always on the lookout for the piece of Old World Tech that will allow them to finally destroy their enemies, and in that desire, opportunity lurks…
You are a Tinman, one of many mercenaries piloting the war machines known as "Frames", contracted by the various corporate powers and City-State security forces of the world to fight their proxy wars and delve into the ancient ruins of once-mighty nations, to plumb their depths for the technological wonders that lie within. However, this task is not without danger, for these ruins are not so abandoned as they might appear. Within squalid bunkers and empty garrisons, ancient and mindless constructs awake, artificial minds bound to the will of masters centuries dead, and determined to safeguard their secrets to the bitter end…
Hey, everybody! So, this is the introduction/Primer to my as-yet-unnamed, semi-original Sci-Fi setting, taking heavy inspiration from the Armored Core games, the Battletech universe, and the Cyberpunk setting. From now on, I'll be posting various informative things about the universe, from faction overviews, exposition about worldbuilding elements, and progress as the eventual TTRPG takes shape!

Warhammer Gaslamp: Introduction
Tumblr media
The year is 2725 IC...some two hundred years since the Age of Crisis. The time of Karl Franz I, the "Fourth Deliverer of the Empire," has long past, as has the age of knights and dragons – throughout the Old World, magic itself is a dying art.
The Empire of Man is stronger than ever before, but it is an Empire that runs on coal and iron, held together with roads of steel track, and powered by boiling, thumping hearts that pump steam and gas through the veins of the mightiest industrial power in the world. The forests remain, but they have dwindled in size, cut down to feed the endless hunger of the great metropolises, the mighty smokestacks of Nuln, Talabheim, New Averheim, and greatest of all, the bright gaslights of mighty Altdorf ("The Big Turnip"), and a hundred smaller cities that light the night skies.
The Neüscience of the Imperial Technomancers has increased national prosperity a hundredfold, improved the health and well-being of the common citizens, and helped the Imperial Army, Navy, and Airkorps put the endless hordes of Khaos on the backfoot for generations. In spite of (or because of?) this, Imperial society has become increasingly divided between the elite who profit from the new economy of high finance and heavy industry, and those millions of unskilled and semi-skilled laborers whose endless toil keeps them only ever one step ahead of the breadline and the bailiff. Meanwhile, the mounting toll of industrial pollution, epidemic disease, industrial accidents, and Neüscientific “experiments” running amok raises new questions about the high cost of success.
Politics has become ever more fractious. The Imperial Parliament is divided between the House of the People, where the Farmer-Artisan Party (representing a coalition of the Craft Guilds and their fellow urban workers, and a significant minority of rural laborers and small farmers) holds the plurality, and the House of the Nobles, where the Liberal-Conservative Party (representing both the traditional landed aristocracy and the new monied elite) holds power, and the two clash fiercely over labor rights, taxation, industrial regulation, and social welfare. Holding the uneasy balance of power is Emperor Karl-Franz XIV, his "Iron" Chancellor Ludwig von Ostermark, and their smaller Patriotic Party (largely supported by veterans and members of the civil service), who try to maintain Imperial unity and industrial production in the face of the "Threat from the Black North."
In the streets and on the shop-floors, the captains of industry known as the Great Monopolhauses (allied and often intermarried with the nobility) deploy their legions of spies and private soldiers against the rising strength of the Laborer’s Guild, who are mobilizing in the factories by the hundreds of thousands, and the industrial spies and gunthugs are kept in check only by the still-potent might of the Craft Guilds who fear and resent their industrial upstart rivals but trust the bosses even less.
The religion that once united an Empire today divides it, as Orthodox Volkmarites and Radical Hussites split over matters of class and faith. Although the two factions are still nominally part of the same Sigmarite religion, and the Church of Sigmar is held together by the firm hand of the Emperor, the two factions compete fiercely over theology and dogma, and positions within the Church unto the Grand Theogonacy itself. To the north, the philosophy professor-turned-street preacher Nietzsche von Zarathustein has single-handedly revived the fortunes of the Cult of Ulric with his fiery doctrine of Neo-Ulricism and his best-seller Man unt Wulf-Man. From the great industrial heartland of the south, the radical scholar Mark Karhl preaches the overthrow of the status quo as an inherently exploitative regime, and his pamphlet The Scarlet Platform and his massive three-volume treatise on political economy, Der Gelden (which almost no one has completed), inspire many young radical students and workers to join the revolutionary Scarlet Party and the ranks of the Laborer’s Guild. Are rumors of his secret allegiance to a Tzeenchite secret society true, or mere bourgeois propaganda?
Exacerbating these divisions is the constant threat from Khaos. Up in the "Black North" and their allied territories on the great steppes on the other side of the pole, the forces of evil pervert the laws of science to their mad push for world domination. Khornate breeder-lords select from an unceasing flow of gladiators to produce the perfect warriors; Nurglite bio-priests carefully engineer the next insidious plague to slip past the Imperial Plasmic Survey; Slaaneshi sin-merchants mobilize a world-wide network of Cathayan black tar and warpdust powder (bartered from the Skaven) to corrupt the Empire from within; and Tzeenchite techno-mancers design ever more fiendish mutated F.R.E.A.K.S and the twisted Biomechs.
Inside the Empire, things are scarcely better. Even with the darkness of the forests pushed back to the periphery and the Greenskin hordes banished to the far side of the World's Edge Mountains, the threat of Were-beastmanism and other, more insidious, forces winds its way into every neighborhood in the Empire despite the best efforts of the Imperial Plasmic Survey and the Schwarzmänner. Mutants who cannot conceal their true nature – known as the "Untervolk" - have decamped into the subway tunnels and sewers that form the Undercities of the Empire, waging an unceasing war for survival against “norms” and “ratfolk” alike. From the back alleyways and the salons of the nobility alike, the endless secret societies of Khaos vie to do their masters' bidding, undermining the Empire from within in preparation for the coming war.
It is a time that desperately needs heroes, men and women willing to brave the darkness on the mean streets and the shell-torn battlefields of the Old World alike. Mystery and intrigue, adventure and mad science await!

so i've been seeing a lot of people ask "what streaming service would want to pick up a show that only has one season left?" and i think that's a really valid question
now i'm not by any means a media analyst nor do i know the inner workings of the streaming industry but maybe my logic could help alleviate some of that anxiety
ofmd has a solid and very loyal viewer base. the ratings of both s1 and s2 have proven that, especially s2. s1 already outperformed in every way by running circles around MCU projects like Moon Knight and Loki, left both SW shows The Mandalorian and Book of Boba Fett in the dust, and did exceptionally well for a freshman series when going up against existing IPs. now we know that that alone was what got us s2 with max, but even then max/WBD went and slashed the budget by 40% 😬. BUT, even with this limitation and the pacing getting fucked up by rewrites/cut downs for the last three episodes, s2 still came through and delivered record breaking numbers, rave reviews across the board with major media outlets, and outdid their s1 performance that max officially listed ofmd as their max original flagship show. the unfortunate thing however is that none of this made a difference, we still got dropped last minute when the bts crew was already gearing up for pre-production
just because WBD/Zaslav doesn't respect or see the value of the show, doesn't mean other networks/streamers don't. a huge reason why i pushed for apple tv is bc they're a service that i've noticed cares about letting a show do their thing and not as much about viewership. apple tv did get a lot of attention and money from Ted Lasso though, and it was their flagship show for the three seasons it aired. i'm sure their 45 minute per episode season 3 was granted to them mainly because the show brought so much attention to their platform, so i think they'd absolutely do that for ofmd too what with it also being a feel good rom com with positive messages
ofmd also has a huge social media presence. the most recent and very successful example DJenks could use within his pitch is the astroglide incident. within an hour of astroglide tweeting about ofmd, fans are already photoshopping their product into screencaps, editing them into clips, and drawing fan art-- free advertisement delivered to them just because they gave us some attention. the fan tweets with astroglide reached thousands of eyes and astroglide was trending. any service that chooses to pick ofmd up isn't just getting a fanbase that would save them some budget in terms of marketing, but also help them market their lesser known shows too. and Casey Bloys said so himself, albeit very tone deaf and for all the wrong reasons, the twitter gays are the ones who have the power to bring attention to a show (queer word of mouth is no joke)
sometimes all a streaming service needs is a show to push people to subscribe, and i think a lot of these services have good shows but no one is looking for them. ofmd fans are pretty good at browsing through what a service has to offer but you need to give them an incentive, as would any business, that makes them want to spend money. i just think that picking ofmd up is only ever a win for a streamer and it would be stupid of them not to
of course, if you want actual insider knowledge with stats and more realistic talks of what might happen (cautiously optimistic!), you know to check out thecozypirate and meowzawowza_ on twt

K.R.O. (is an acronym for Knight Robot One) is one of next generation of car of tomorrow day. KRO's body appears as a highly modified Nautical Blue and Diamond Black 2021 Shelby Cobra GT500KR Super Snake. KRO's designer and creator is Kenneth Franklin. KRO's prime driver is Martin Marcus, field agent of Eques Industries.
KRO's General Specs:
Vehicle: Front engine, rear-wheel drive, two-door coupe.
Power: 789 HP (800 PS) and 590 lb⋅ft (800 N⋅m).
Weight: 4,000 lb (1,800 kg).
Engine: highly modified turbine ramjet engine with highly modified afterburners.
Transmission: computer-controlled 10-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission with autopilot.
License Plate: blue-on-black vanity plates "KNIGHT", "SPYCAR".
History
KRO is conceived and designed by Kenneth Franklin when he working for Knight Industries. Car is supposed to be a new and refined version of KITT and KARR, complete with additional features and an alloy composed of a nano-polymeric compound which surpassed original Molecular Bonded Shell in resilience and stability.
KRO's main cybernetic processor was based upon schematics of KITT (Knight Industries Two Thousand, Knight Industries Three Thousand) and KARR (Knight Automated Roving Robot, Knight Auto-Cybernetic Roving Robotic-Exoskeleton) and constructed by Garth Knight, his company Eques Industries. KRO is programmed with a male personality and bound to protect human life. Although he will kill a human unless ordered to. However, Kenneth say better use for "him" in Foundation's crime-fighting crusade and eventually system was installed in vehicle. KRO was in fact second vehicle built by Knight Industries with an artificial intelligence. His was K.R.O. (Knight Reformulation One). KRO was programmed for self-preservation, but this proved to be dangerous to the Foundation's interests. KRO was later deactivated and placed in storage while KRO was given to his new operator Martin Marcus.
Unlike KRO, KRO is programmed primarily to protect Martin and all human life at all costs. This is made clear when Martin asks James Marland if KRO will protect anyone driving it. James's answer is that KRO's primary function is protect of human life, and Martin's in particular.
KRO's Chassis was ultimately destroyed in a two vs one Battle with KRO (Knight Reformulation One). Although his Neural Processor Unit is saved by Martin Marcus, Garth Knight, KITT (Knight Industries Twelve Thousand) and KARR (Knight Agent Road Robot).
In 2023 Garth Knight and Kenneth Franklin found and rebuilt KRO in Satellite Surveillance Center, so they takes them, put them back together and combined features from KITT (Knight Industries Twelve Thousand) and KARR (Knight Agent Road Robot) with new ones aswell into one car Knight 12000 and together Martin with help of KRO they seek out to make a difference in world once more.
KRO's Features:
KRO is loaded with special features, most of which can be activated by buttons on panels to either side of steering wheel or on a console on ceiling of interior.
Some of KRO's features include following:
Computer AI - "brain" of KRO is Knight 12000 Neural Microprocessor, center of a "self-aware" cybernetic logic module that allowing KRO to think, learn, communicate and interact with Martin and others humans.
KRO is fully aware of himself.
KRO is a highly ultra-advanced quantum neural-net supercomputer on wheels. KRO's reaction time is 1/10 nanosecond, and his memory capacity is over unlimited quettabytes, also KRO's microprocessor can operate with 800 trillion operations with access time in 1 nanosecond.
KRO was programmed to obey all orders given to him by his human designer and creator, so long as humans didn't violate his prime doctrine - directive of protect human life (especially Martin's) to best of his abilities.
System can drive car better than any a human operator can be.
He can provide music, video and video games via an in-dash entertainment system, which is two 17-inch 1920x1080 IPS Full HD Super AMOLED TFT LED-LCD video display monitors and windscreen projection.
Armor - KRO has a layer of woven Teflon armor along his interior cabin while beneath his nanoskin is a tungsten-carbide and cobalt-chromium steel support lattice which maintains his structural integrity. Molecular Bonded Shell - Molecular Bonded Shell casing encases his cabin compartment to protect his driver from harm. Nanotech Skin Repair - His nanoskin which overlays his armor and molecular shell are just as fast and versatile as KITT's and KARR's, able to repair damage quickly as well as alter his appearance, changing his paint job at will if he so chooses. His nanoskin is not equipped for absolute stealth, though he does have a stealth mode. This stealth mode is essentially a matte black angular version of his attack mode which allows him to drop from radar like any stealth vehicle.
Molecular Bonded Shell - KRO is armored with "Tri-Helical Plasteel 2000 MBS", or Molecular Bonded Shell plating which protects him from almost all forms of conventional firearms and explosive devices. They can only be harmed by heavy artillery and rockets, and even then, blast usually leaves most of car's shell intact and only damages internal components. Shell protects every part of car including tires. As a result, KRO could act as a shield for explosives by driving over bombs and suppressing blast. He can literally drive over Anti-tank mines to neutralise them.
Shell also protects against fire and electricity; however, it is vulnerable to some potent acids and at least one formula was made to completely neutralize shell. Long exposure to seawater can weaken shell.
Shell provides a frame tolerance of 550,000 lb (275 tons) and a front and rear axle suspension load of 200,000 lb (100 tons).
Shell is actually a combination of three secret substances referred together as "Knight Compound". It was developed by Wilton Knight who entrusted parts of formula to three separate people. Each individual knows only two pieces of formula, ensuring that any two of them could make more of Knight Compound in an emergency situation and that no one person would be able to make it. Garth Knight and Kenneth Franklin upgraded MBS to be even more powerful by 300%, making KRO most indestructible Knight Industries vehicle ever.
Pyroclastic Lamination - KRO is protected by a thermal-resistant coating that can withstand sustained temperatures over 4980 degrees Celsius.
Power System - KRO is powered by highly modified turbine ramjet engine with highly modified afterburners and a computer-controlled 10-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission with autopilot. Sound of KRO's turbine ramjet engine is rough and fierce. Specifications: 800 PS and 800 N⋅m, 0 to 62 mph in 0.286 seconds, ¼ mile in 4.286 seconds. Electromagnetic hyper-vacuum water-cooled carbon-ceramic disc brakes: 9 ft., 9 ft. braking distance (70 to 0, 300 to 0 mph).
Rocket Fire Boost - KRO has an internal self-charging rocket fire boost system. System consisted of a series of rear mounted undercarriage rocket motors which allowing car to accelerate to speeds in excess of 500 mph. Rockets can fire both forwards and backwards as needed.
System has one secondary use:
It can be using to provide power for pushing or pulling heavy objects when necessary.
Turbo Boost - KRO has an internal self-charging turbo boost system.
Turbo Boost - An internal self-charging power injector system that allows for large, but long amounts of power to allow KRO to jump over obstacles and to move forward, up, left, right, or reverse at high speed for long distances. This ability along with directional exhaust outlets allows KRO to jump from a standstill or at high speed and this ability with ion boosters and mini thrusters allows KRO do a Ski Mode.
Rocket Fire Motor - KRO also come with an internal self-charging rocket fire booster for providing a long burst of speed. It is concealed behind rear number plate, which flipped upwards and retracted into body of car.
Voice Synthesizer - KRO's Voice synthesizer allows KRO as well as other similar vehicles logic modules to speak and communicate. Other sounds, such as a police raid to fool criminals or a wild animal's growl, can also be simulated. Voice Synthesizer "speaks" through Voice Orb Modulator in interior of vehicle. KRO's primary spoken language is English, however by accessing his language module, he can speak fluently in German, Spanish and French. Module can also be adjusted to give KRO different accents.
Electronic Jamming System - KRO has an Electronic Jamming System which consists of three main components: Electromagnetic Field Generator, Electronic Field Disrupter and Microwave Ignition Sensor. System can take control of electronic machines, allowing such diverse activites as cheating at slot machines, breaking electronic locks, scrambling security cameras, and withdrawing money from ATMs. System is using most frequently to disable engine and activate brakes on a fleeing vehicle. Sometimes, KRO using system to magnetize and manipulate non-electronic objects such as a mechanical combination lock, and to create "poltergeist" activity, moving random objects to frighten people.
Anamorphic Equalizer - Equalizer device is a fiber-optic array of electronic "eyes". Scanner can see in all visual wavelengths as well as X-Ray and infrared. When KRO's surveillance mode was active, bar will light up and make an ominous swooping sound as it panned left and right. Occasionally, bar pulsed in different patterns and swept either rapidly or slowly. It is possible to disable KRO's electronics by penetrating equalizer with a laser making this one of his few vulnerabilities.
Etymotic Equalizer - This system allowed KRO to hear sounds. An array of audio sensors were threaded throughout his interior and exterior.
Aroma Monitor - KRO can "smell" via a much more complex atmospheric sample device mounted in his front bumper.
Microscanners - Microscanners are tiny audio and visual sensors embedded into grooves of KRO's body. They allow for visual tracking and display of anything around car.
Cruise Modes - These are KRO's three drive modes:
Normal - On "Normal", Martin had control of car. In an emergency, KRO can still take over and activate Auto Cruise mode. In order to prevent this, Martin has to use Manual Override.
Auto - In "Auto", KRO has an "Alpha Circuit" as part of his main control system, which allows CPU to drive himself utilizing a highly advanced Auto Collision Avoidance system.
Pursuit - "Pursuit" is used during high-speed driving and is a combination of manual and computer assisted operation. KRO can respond to road conditions faster than Martin's reflexes can; however, Martin is technically in control of vehicle and KRO helped guide certain maneuvers.
Silent Mode - KRO can run silently. Feature dampened his engine noise and allows him to sneak around.
Computer Override - KRO has a hidden switch and setting dial under dash that either completely shuts down his AI module or deactivates certain systems should need arise.
Manual Override - KRO has a function which can be activated in order to completely lock AI from all vehicle controls. Unlike Computer Override, Manual Override simply keeps KRO from activating Auto Cruise or preventing anyone inside car from doing something that would probably hurt them. KRO's AI is still able to protest such actions vocally.
Adaptive camouflage - KRO is equipped with a sophisticated cloaking device. Tiny cameras project what they see onto a light-emitting polymer skin on opposite side, rendering car effectively invisbile to naked eye.
Police Lights/Siren - KRO has police lights, and he has a siren in Police mode.
Grappling Hook and Winch - KRO has a hidden winch and grappling hook system, one mounted under his front bumper, and another in a compartment behind his tail light plate. Most often hook is connected by a strong cable, but a metal arm has also been seen.
Parachute - KRO is equipping with a parachute.
Oil Jets/Smokescreen - KRO can spray an oil slick and a plume of smoke from under rear bumper.
Machine guns - KRO has twin M134 Miniguns, concealed behind each of its retractable headlamps.
Flamethrower - KRO have flamethrowers mounted under his rear bumper.
Tear Gas Launcher - KRO can dispense a cloud of tear gas along with his smokescreen.
Rocket Fire - KRO can to fire a small rocket out of his tailpipe or retractable foglamps, also can launch magnesium flares which can also be used to divert heat-seeking missiles fired at him.
Anti Missile Flares - Deploying from rear bumper of KRO. Disk-like objects that when dispensed produce an intense heat source to deter heat-seeking projectiles.
High Traction Drop Downs - When activated, HTDD system hydraulically raises KRO's chassis for better traction when driving off-road.
Traction Spikes - When activated KRO's tires will have spikes coming out in order for KRO to drive up steep off-road hills.
Telephone Comlink - Martin can contact home base and communicate with others people using KRO's two 17-inch 1920x1080 IPS Full HD TFT LED-LCD video display monitors and windscreen projection.
Surveillance Mode - Surveillance Mode do several things:
Surveillance Mode with extended range up to 50 miles
ANPR (Automated Number Plate Recognition)
Speed radar front and rear
X-ray/infrared spectrum vision, Geiger counter, UV meter, camera, sound recorder
Lockpicking, computer cracking and information altering/removal
Scrambling electronic devices or vehicles
City Safety-like auto braking
Also, stuff like:
KRO can detect people and vehicles and track their movements and discern proximity.
KRO can gather structural schematics of buildings, vehicles, or other devices and help Martin avoid potential danger when he was snooping.
KRO can also monitor radio transmissions and telephone communications within a location and trace those calls.
KRO can tap into computer systems to monitor, download, alter, remove or upload information as long as he can break access codes.
Infrared Tracking Scope - KRO can monitor position of specific vehicles, including cars or helicopters in the area within 100 miles. For instance, if Martin wanted to know location of every cars or helicopters within 70 miles, KRO can display a schematic on his monitors of all vehicles, including police vehicles relative to his position and KRO can monitor position of very specific vehicles, including police cars or police helicopters in said or given area within 20 miles.
Laser Powerpack - KRO can fire a high powered ultra-frequency modulated laser capable of burning through steel plating. Like most of KRO's components, schematics for laser device are top-secret classified.

Caltrops dispenser - Dozens of spiked caltrops can be scattered in path of pursuing vehicles, shredding their tyres. Dispenser is located behind rear bumper of KRO.
Re-inflating tyres - KRO is capable of re-inflated tyres: KRO can deflate and reinflate his tyres, also tyres can self-sealing even after being hit by bullets.
Fuel Processor - KRO was powered by a highly modified turbine ramjet engine primarily fueled by liquid cryogenic rocket fuel. However, his complex fuel processor allows him to run on any combustible liquid, even liquid nitrogen gas, liquefied natural gas and liquid petroleum gas. KRO's actual fuel requirements and efficiency ratings were top secret classified, however official rating of KRO's fuel economy was 100 miles per gallon, but KRO mentioned fuel economy is 525 miles per gallon. It is means that KRO can measured his fuel economy for any combustible liquid, even liquid nitrogen gas, liquefied natural gas and liquid petroleum gas. However, when operating on fuels other than liquid cryogenic rocket fuel, KRO's fuel efficiency and power output may be lowered.
Electrochromic Windows - KRO's windows can change tint on motion: from transparent to opaque for various situations.
Voice Stress Analyzer - KRO can process spoken voices and determine if someone may be lying.
Auto Doors, Hood, and Trunklid - KRO can automatically open and close his doors and Trunklid. He can also lock his doors to prevent unauthorized entry into his driver compartment. He can also open his hood automatically.
Rotating License Plate - KRO can rotate his "KNIGHT" license plate to reveal a fictitious one reading "SPYCAR". Martin uses this to evade police when an APB was placed on him.
Seat Ejection System - KRO have two front ejection seats, mostly used when Martin needed a boost to fire escapes or building roof tops.
Passive Laser Restraint System - Restraint system helping protect Martin and any passengers from shock of sudden impacts and hard stopping, it is a primitive form of an inertial damping device.
Video Display Monitor - KRO has two 16-inch 1920x1080 IPS Full HD Super AMOLED TFT LED-LCD instrument cluster display monitors and two 17-inch 1920x1080 IPS Full HD Super AMOLED TFT LED-LCD video display monitors on his dashboard for various readouts. They are controlled by two systems, Graphic Translator (which sketches likenesses from verbal input) and Anamorphic Equalizer (which gathered visual information from KRO's front scan bar) and microscanners.
Windscreen Projection - Basically, entire front windscreen is configured to display extra information and aswell as display video communication link with other people.
Computer Printer - KRO can print incoming documents and incoming faxes, hard copies of data and faxed messages on a dashboard-mounted printer. It also doubled as a color printer/fax machine.
Radio Scanner - Mounted in two 17-inch 1920x1080 IPS Full HD Super AMOLED TFT LED-LCD video display monitors, radio scanner was capable of eavesdropping on civilian, police and military radio frequencies.
Revolving number plates - KRO is come with rotating number plates, some of which included: "SPYCAR" or "KNIGHT" (US), "BMT 216A" or "BMT 214A" (UK), "4711-EA-62" (France) and "LU 6789" (Switzerland). Martin uses this to evade police when an APB was placed on him.
Miscellaneous Items - Along with his nanoskin and automatic tire repair systems, KRO can forcibly jettison any passenger within his interior as well as any objects in his trunk if it necessary for Martin.
Holographic projections - KRO can project holograms of himself, as seen when he and Martin are being chased by a cop. These clones have different actions seemingly based on his personality or actions and will dissipate on command or when hit by someone with force.
Molecularly Transformation - KRO has ability to split into Molecules to change appearance.
Vehicle transformations - KRO has unique ability to change between multiple vehicle forms while prime is Nautical Blue and Diamond Black 2021 Shelby Cobra GT500KR Super Snake. Forms he takes do not affect size or weight when in robot form and they share same color.
Chemical Analyzer - KRO has a retractable tray with anelectron scanner that can analyze chemical properties of various materials. It can even scan fingerprints and read ballistic information off bullets and compare these with a police database. Aside from scanning tray, system can also analyze chemical information gathered from KRO's exterior sensors. KRO has an anelectron scanner that can analyze chemical properties of various materials. It can even scan fingerprints and read ballistic information off bullets and compare these with a police database. Aside from scanning tray, system can also analyze chemical information gathered from KRO's exterior sensors.
Fire Extinguisher - KRO can put out small fires from a CO2 sprayer in his bumpers and retractable headlamps.
Interior Oxygenator - KRO can release oxygen into his driver compartment and provide air to drivers and passengers if he was ever submariged in water or buried in earth. This is also used to overcome effects of certain drugs and alcohol.
Two-Wheel Ski Drive - Ski Mode setting allowed KRO to "ski" (driving up on two wheels).
Third Stage Aquatic Synthesizer - With this system, KRO can hydroplane, effectively "driving" on water, using his wheels and turbo system for propulsion.
Amphibious Mode - KRO can float and maneuver on water like a speedboat. Transforming components include wheel arches that turn into closed arches and one propeller which emerge from lower rear of vehicle.
Submarine mode - KRO has ability to transform into a two-man submarine. Transforming components include wheel arches that turn into fins and four propellers which emerge from lower rear of vehicle.
Torpedoes - In submarine mode, car can fire small, highly explosive guided torpedoes from a launcher located in car's radiator grille. Two torpedoes can be fired at a time, with a total of 30 torpedoes storing on-board.
Remote torpedoes - While submarine, KRO is equipped with with two remote-controlled torpedo launchers on either side of car and are concealed behind side vents. A total of 15 missiles are equipped.
Sub Zero - KRO can release cryogenic gases and "flash freeze" driver compartment.

Thermal Expander
KRO is equipping with an offensive weapon which consisted of a microwave projector that caused temperatures of targeted objects to quickly rise and either ignite or explode.
Remote Target Assist
This allows Martin Marcus aim and fire with a complete and perfect accuracy.
Microwave Stunner
Similar to "non-lethal" sidearms used by police, KRO is equipping with a microwave stunner that can incapacitate criminals.
Voice Activated Controls
KRO's dashboard is less "cluttered looking" than KITT's and KARR's original dash with most of controls now being completely voice activated rather than having to push a button.
Infrared Scanner
Infrared Scanner is a device with which KRO can scan on an Infrared level, which would identify laser scope rifles as well as hidden objects giving off heat.
Voice Sampler
Similar to KITT's and KARR's Anharmonic Synthesizer, this device can simulate any voice which has been recorded into KRO's memory.
Thermal Sensor
This system allows to KRO watch and record what is happening in a particular place. For example, inside a vehicle.

Thinking about the princess/dragon dynamic with Garthe and alien!KARR. I've decided to let the dragon/princess dynamic exist in the same space as the 1980's, so there's some cold war drama in there too.
Given Garthe never really earned or built anything so far as we know, he's tended to rely on others to get what he needed/wanted. The only hint that he had agency outside of needing a "patron" to his schemes was whatever landed him in jail for three life sentences.
Whatever he did was never really elaborated on, it was just left up to the viewer's imagination. Given the gravity of the consequences, possibly it was a high profile crime that would require resources. Or maybe Garthe just killed three people and each one was worth a life sentence, who knows.
Either way, after he landed himself in jail, he's needed help for the rest of his existence. He needed help getting out of jail, twice. He needed help getting Goliath built. He needed help from the guy who broke him out the first time in order to steal missiles. So far as we know this guy doesn't even own his own home or his own vehicle, he may have never even held a day job before (unless we count the casino? I forget if that was his or not). Which, in retrospect sort of makes him a lot less intimidating- so long as he's alone he can't really do much, aside from kung-fu and dropping out of a doorway to kick Devon in the chest.
Hence, spoiled bitchboy gets to be the princess. He can sort of navigate the world on his own in an unhinged criminal lifestyle way, but otherwise he needs help to do anything of importance.
alien!KARR is in a different boat.
He has the might to orchestrate his own plans and goals without needing any allies. Technologically, nothing can even fathom coming close to usurping his superiority for as long as humanity exists. Well supplied military forces are little more than insects to him, the enormity of nuclear armageddon is disabled or even rerouted to a new target with a mere thought. He is the dragon razing the village, toppling castles and devouring kings. There is no knight brave enough to challenge him, no lance long or sharp enough to pierce his armor.
alien!KARR has razed cities, conquered portions of markets and leaders of foreign nations- staying small for the sake of keeping things simple. He had taken over a small country, distant and insignificant enough that its name is not among the ones well known in the US, probably in eastern europe somewhere. Over near the USSR his exploits have the Kremlin in a panic, but they would never share this with their western rival.
The why of it baffles the soviets the most, since negotiations with him have been unproductive. Trying to intimidate him went over even worse when alien!KARR took control of their nuclear missile silos in the same breath they threatened retaliation and then refused to give them back.
So, with all this terror alien!KARR effortlessly wrought over eastern Europe, where does Garthe fit in?
Garthe's purpose in alien!KARR's grand scheme is that of a mere trophy- in being unable to capture his initial creator, he settled for keeping his son captive instead. Garthe's capture had been as simple as swooping in and snatching him away like a massive bird of prey while coming back from an errand. Garthe had been out and enacting some sort of revenge scheme alongside his newest ally against Knight Industries, one moment he had been walking the grounds of an estate talking business, the next he had been plucked up and spirited off several thousand feet into the air never to be seen again.
It is a small catharsis, a memento of surpassing his origins as a mere tool to be used by humanity, no longer dependent on them for his existence. In keeping Garthe as a pet, keeping him dependent on him for keeping his needs met in exchange for serving him; alien!KARR has flipped the roles of his original fate. He finds the situation quite satisfying on its own, but his newfound freedom ignited ambition within him, and having one human groveling before him is no longer enough.
Hence, the eldritch machine seeks conquest, a little piece of the world for himself to mold how he wishes. This is where taking over part of eastern Europe comes in, and scaring the USSR.

«All science, even divine science, is a sublime yellow story.
Only it's not set to reveal why a man died, but the darkest secret of why he lives."
(Gilbert Keith Chesterton, My Faith)
Gilbert Keith Chesterton, often cited as G. K. Chesterton (London, 29 May 1874 – Beaconsfield, 14 June 1936), was a British writer and journalist.
An extremely prolific and versatile writer, he wrote about a hundred books, contributed another two hundred, hundreds of poems, an epic poem, five dramas, five novels and about two hundred short stories, including the popular series starring the figure of "Father Brown" from which inspired the creation of the TV series of the same name.
He was also the author of more than four thousand newspaper essays.
He loved paradox and controversy very much, also contributing to the economic theory of distributism.
In 1900 he wrote his first collection of poems, The Wild Knight, which was followed by articles of literary criticism in the Speaker and the Daily News.
The following year he married Frances Blogg.
In 1905 he published Heretics.
Three years later, in 1908, he wrote Ortodoxy, perhaps his most important essay, a sort of philosophical autobiography, which partly continues themes that appeared in the 1905 work.
In 1909 he moved with his wife to Beaconsfield where he would live until his death.
Between 1911 and 1936 Chesterton began writing Father Brown's stories (many of which were still unpublished).
In 1914 a serious illness put his life at risk.
After the outbreak of the First World War, Chesterton founded the Distributist League with the writer Hilaire Belloc with the aim of helping the development of small property and small industry through the division and redistribution of large landholding properties.
He was a close friend of Belloc, so much so that George Bernard Shaw coined the term "Chesterbelloc" to indicate their literary and friendship partnership.
«Tutta la scienza, anche la scienza divina, è una sublime storia gialla. Solo che non è impostata per rivelare perché un uomo sia morto, ma il segreto più oscuro del perché egli viva.»
(Gilbert Keith Chesterton, La mia fede)

Out of the office
So one headcanon I have for Rick is that in his younger years when he didn’t have as much control over his powers, he accidentally made things(and maybe even people) appear from various fictional series. While the people he managed to get fake identities for so they could live a normal life here despite the fact he yanked them from their world, items are in what he refers to as “Deep Storage” where they’re kept inactive away from prying eyes of random people, companies or governments that may be interested in some of it.
I am extremely tempted to make a starter or two for this, especially with one piece of said collection, the Knight Industries Three Thousand, aka KITT.
