League of Legends Patch Notes – 13.7 Update Nerfs Meta Junglers, Phew
Tumblr media
As we approach MSI there’s a new round of League of Legends patch notes to sink our teeth into – literally, as the MOBA‘s beloved Cats vs Dogs skinline has made a comeback post-April 1. If you pick up the Nidalee skin you’ll probably get the chance to make good use of it, as meta junglers Lee Sin, Sejuani, and Vi are taking the nerf hammer to the face in 13.7. Lee Sin, Sejuani, and Vi all get nerfed I’d be a liar if I said writing that didn’t give me an awful sense of satisfaction. All three junglers have dominated the meta – especially in pro play – and as a result are getting taken down a few pegs ahead of MSI. Lee Sin’s base attack damage and armour have been knocked down by a couple of points each, and Vi has been shifted towards AD to negate her building tank items but dealing out huge amounts of damage. Sejuani’s Arctic Assault (Q) and Glacial Prison (R) now also have longer cooldowns, and her passive’s damage cap has been decreased to stop her easily beating up epic monsters like drakes and the Baron. League of Legends patch notes – 13.7 update Below are the champion changes from League of Legends patch 13.7, as well as a list of any upcoming skins and chromas. Champion Adjustments Kha’Zix Q – Taste Their Fear - Isolation Range: 425 ⇒ 375 W – Void Spike - Evolved Slow: 60% ⇒ 40% - Evolved Slow Against Isolated Targets: 90% ⇒ 75% R – Void Assault - Buff Duration: 10 seconds ⇒ 12 seconds Thresh Q – Death Sentence - Cooldown Refunded On Hit: 3 seconds ⇒ 2 seconds Champion Buffs Alistar Base Stats - Base Armor: 44 ⇒ 47 - Base Health: 670 ⇒ 685 Azir Base Stats - Base Armor: 19 ⇒ 22 - Attack Speed Growth: 5% ⇒ 6% Passive – Shurima’s Legacy - Duration: 30 seconds ⇒ 45 seconds - Cast Range: 500 ⇒ 700 Q – Conquering Sands - Mana Cost: 65/70/75/80/85 ⇒ 70/80/90/100/110 - Stab Range: 370 ⇒ 325 W – Arise! - Magic Damage: 0−110 (based on level) (+50/60/70/80/90) (+55% AP) ⇒ 0−92 (based on level) (+50/67/84/101/118) (+55% AP- (Note: Assuming W max, this is a damage per hit buff that scales from +0 to +10 by level 11 and then stays there). - Mana Cost: 40 at all ranks ⇒ 40/35/30/25/20 Miscellaneous - Recommended Skill Order: The game will now recommend maxing W first. While the Cat vs Dog skins aren’t for me – thankfully I won’t need to check how much I’ve spent on League of Legends this month – those jungle changes (especially the Lee Sin ones) absolutely are. Hopefully it knocks some of the more meta junglers down the League of Legends tier list a bit, and lets some new faces rise to the top – specifically Evelynn. I like Evelynn. Read the full article

Worlds Meta
These are the champions that I think will be pick/Banned the most in worlds.
Top:
Maokai (Flex: Top/Jungle) [Tank & Reliable CC, can lose any lane with grace]
Cho´gath (Flex: Top/Jungle) [Tank, Low CC, can only follow up, some dmg]
Jarvan (Flex: Jungle/Top,he will be banned a lot) [Tank, Reliable as fk, wombo]
Galio (Flex: Top/Mid) [Tank, Global, ult best as follow up, Peel]
Shen [Tank, Global, Can split push vs non Split push specialists]
Rumble [The main choice for Magic damage in the top lane]
Gnar [Split pusher that can teamfight with ult, weak vs gap close]
Jungle:
Seju (I think she will be banned a lot) [Tank, Wants meele top ally, teamfighter]
Gragas [Tank, Useful multi purpose ult]
Jarvan (Flex: Jungle/Top, he will be banned a lot) [Tank, Reliable, Wombo]
Cho´gath (Flex: Top/Jungle) [Tank, Low CC, can only follow up, some dmg]
Zac [Tank, Unusual ganks, good at ganking mid]
Rek¨sai [An AD option if you´re not a Lee player when you´re not Kayn]
Lee sin [Lee is never not meta to SKT]
Nidalee/Ezreal [AP/AD Poke + good early game]
Elise [Early game + Magic damage]
Kayn [Invader, dunno how many players picked him up though, early game]

Taliyah [Roamer, generalist, blind pickable]
Kassadin [Assassin, Split pusher, no waveclear, scaling, weak lane phase]

Kalista (Permabannable/Broken) [Only real weakness is killing tanks and scaling, ult is super useful in pro play, the best picks in this meta are Kalista/Rakan and Kalista/Thresh]
Trist [Generalist, can do everything apart from farming under tower, safe]
Kog¨Maw [Hyper Carry, Rly good consistant damage if he can stand still and auto attack, immobile.]
Xayah [Self peel, useful ult, low range , immobile]
Varus [Good Lane phase, CC, Poke, bad scaling for this meta, immobile]
Twitch [Poor mans Kog¨maw, hyper carry, situationally better than kog, stealth]
Sivir [Speed boost giver, good late game teamfight, bad lane phase, low range]
Support:
Rakan (Most ban worthy support) [Amazing engage, wombo potential]
Lulu [Best ardent censor applier if you don´t need Janna ult, peel]
Janna [ Ardent Censor, PEEL]

What I Watched This Weekend
Trying to keep up the regular content so here’s a new feature.  Tell me what you think and I’ll keep doing it if folks like it.
The Western professional leagues are hitting the business end of their Spring Splits.  With no noteworthy Counter-Strike taking place, League took up most of my viewing time this weekend.
Week eight started off slow. All four teams featured in Thursday’s games have negative win ratios and it was no surprise to see Origen continue their abysmal form.  Roccat vs Fnatic later that evening offered little entertainment although the second game of the series was very, very close.  It’s also worth noting that Hjarnan had a solid performance across the match, peaking somewhat ironically in a defeat in game one.
Friday was St Patrick’s Day and the launch of the new Magic set but I did get home in time to catch the last game of G2-Misfits because I’m just that Rock & Roll.  I was hoping to see an upset here to maybe open up the top of the table.  We nearly did.  But in classic European fashion, Misfits blew their opportunity in the baron pit.  Still, it was definitely a game worth watching if you haven’t already seen it. I’ll be watching the rest of the series when I get time, even if it’s just to see the returns of Lucian and Kalista to the meta-game.  Spoiler alert: Kalista went 0-2 when picked.
I started Saturday catching up on the NA LCS games from the night before.  I can’t quite put my finger on why the NA LCS is more entertaining but viewing figures suggest I’m not alone in thinking it.  Maybe there’s something to ponder for a future article.  Dignitas easily dispatched of Team Liquid in their match, with Chaser’s 8/0/8 Lee Sin running roughshod over Reignover’s Reksai.  How the mighty have fallen.  Meanwhile, CLG won a fairly close but unexciting series over Echo Fox.  An important win heading into the business end of the split, but not a must-see game for anyone but die-hard CLG fans.
European play on Saturday was fairly dull.  Roccat made Giants look poor, especially in game two when Giants simply didn’t know what to do with their lead.  A quick look at the gold graph tells a sad story.  And speaking of sad stories, Origen closed out the week for EU LCS with their 11th loss in 11 games.  At this point, Origen look abject, but at least Splyce livened things up by picking top lane Fizz.  Another winner from the recent BoTRK changes, don’t be surprised to see more of the Tidal Trickster in coming weeks.
Meanwhile in America, Saturday had all the big names ready to rock.  Immortals upset Cloud 9 in one of the more one-sided 2-1 games you’re likely to see.  The third game was a demolition job by Immortals, with Dardoch and Pobelter combining for 16 kills.  The game ended with a 15 kill lead and a 16k gold difference.  I don’t think anybody saw that coming.  As a small side note, we also saw Kog’Maw make an appearance but Sneaky dropped him after never really getting off the ground in game one.
Dignitas continued to be perfectly average, by taking a win from struggling Envy before TSM and Flyquest took to The Rift.  Fly got off to a great start by taking game one but America’s sweethearts weren’t to be outdone.  Bjersen and Hauntzer ran away with game two and the Great Dane’s Vladimir stole the show in game three, ending on a soloqueue-esque 10/1/5.  Phoenix 1 capped off Saturday’s action with a comfortable 2-0 win over a Team Liquid that seems to get worse as the season goes on.
League leaders TSM kicked Sunday’s games off with an easy 2-0 over Echo Fox before Phoenix 1 decided to style on Immortals.  Meteos got Zac in both games and went 10/2/16 across two games.  If that’s not worth some style points by itself, how about Arrow giving Kalista her first win of the season and then sort of… doing just fine on Draven.  Still an impressive victory and an entertaining performance from Phoenix 1.
Next up, in the middle of the pack we saw CLG breeze past Flyquest.  I only caught bits of this series but game one snowballed out of control on the back of Xmithie’s 5/0/6 Elise.  Game two made sad viewing for Flyquest fans.  They had a 5,000 ish gold league for what seemed like an eternity, only to lose it all in a fight near the baron pit.  Their pick comp was unable to find a telling blow and they couldn’t match CLG’s team fighting strength as the game wore on.  I highly recommend this game for any budding strategists out there as an example of how the strengths and weaknesses of different team compositions.
Last but not quite least we had Envy surprise us all by taking a single game off Cloud 9.  Lira’s AP bruiser Nidalee ran the first game with a 10/1/8 score.  With the cat out of the bag (sorry), Cloud 9 recovered and normal service was resumed. Go and watch game one, though, if you haven’t seen it already. I love to see junglers carrying and so far 2017 has been a great year for it.
So what was your favourite game of the weekend?  Did I miss some exciting online CS?  The Trinity Series had a pretty great final but this blog is already getting too long. Definitely check that out if you’re a Hearhstone fan.
