Some notes: So at the end of July I was off film and off tumblr and not sure if I'd be back but I guess now I am, to some extent at least. The very start of this list is a bit innacurate. I probably watched a few more films than I've listed and maybe in a different order but from Gothic onwards it's correct - not that it really matters! I really must try to get back into having a themed Halloween watch list, which I haven't done since the japanese one in 2019, it's more fun. Am I doing Noirvember? I don't know.

Just curious, what're your toughts on giulio getting gang tickled by deku, shoto, and bakugou? That scenario suddenly pops up from my mind lol
Oh, yes we'll actually I'm glad you asked because- 💥💥💥 YES!? That'd be the cutest thing ever!
Me and a friend were discussing how touch starved he is and how tickling would be a foreign concept to him. He'd be so confused 😭
I believe Deku would be the first to make a move, spotting Giulio pouting or something and just poking at him to try cheer him up. Once he starts squirming, Shoto realises what Deku is up to and offers a helping hand.
Their tickling would be light poking and scribbling at whatever they can reach as they just let Giulio wriggle freely on the ground. He's in denial about how much he enjoys it for sure. Hiding his face from them, trying to stifle his giggling and, of course, telling them he's bot ticklish 🤭
It's not until Shoto shoots a comment Bakugos way about how 'extras are not supposed to join in anyway' that gets him joining in. That's when Giulio breaks. With Bakugo not being as gentle and playful, Giulio is soon a bubbly, tickle drunk mess. His hair falls from its bun as he writhes and bucks underneath the three tickling pairs of hands. His hands can't decide what to do! Cover his face? Protect his ticklish spots? Get away from the attackers??
After he's had enough, he regains composure rather quickly, forcing down the remnants of giggling as he smoothes out his frantically messed hair. Red ears. Definitely gets red ears. On my life. He pouts too, he tries to glare, he really does, but it just comes across as a flustered pout.
He's very tummy ticklish. Curling up like a woodlouse. And his thighs too, they have to be, I need an excuse to squeeze em 🤤... I MEAN WHAT!?
Big laugh. Once he's broken. Laugh is big and hearty. Head thrown back, mouth agape, no restraint 🥰
So, in conclusion to your question, dear dust bunny, um- AAAAAAAÀAAAAAAAAAÀAAAAAAAAÀAAAÀAAAAAAAAAAAAAÀAAAAAAAAH!!!!! 😇❤️💕❤️💕❤️💕
Might make a lee/ler hc post about him!!! Lemme cook for a lil bit 🤩✨️ Have a great day, dust bunny!!! Love you!!!

Tombini d’Italia. Dal progetto grafico al design del prodotto.
Alfonso Morone. LetteraVentidue, Siracusa, 2022
Introduction by Giulio Iacchetti and Matteo Ragni.
Layout and graphic design by Marco Sorrentino
Photographic research by Enzo Papa.
This publication aims at bridging an important shortcoming regarding one of the most popular, but also one of the most overlooked products in design studies, i.e. manhole covers. These artefacts constitute a unique case in industrial manufacturing, in that they constitute a timeless product, an untouched ‘sine die’, for they have never undergone any substantial innovation or functional evolution. All is expected from them is that they merely provide a cast iron cover so as to prevent the risk of slipping or damage when travelling on roads. On the other hand, they do present a certain degree of variation in terms of their embossed graphics and contour patterns.
While their apparent timelessness enables manhole covers to symbolise some of the principles of the future ecological transition, as they are built to comply with a very long service life, they can also be recycled an unlimited number of times, thereby saving energy, and reducing the use of raw materials.
One of the fathers of modern design historiography, Sigfried Giedion, stated in his introduction to ‘Mechanization takes command: a contribution to anonymous history’   that “The sun is mirrored even in a coffee spoon”. Therefore, also the object of our focus will feature traces of great technological breakthroughs in urban areas.
The earliest documented specimens of cast-iron manholes in London, the capital of the industrial revolution, were used to access domestic coal warehouses from the street during the early 19th century, whereas in recent years, fibre-optic cable networks have an indelible trace in our manholes, thus reflecting every technological development in urban infrastructure.  Besides the contour patterns and shapes, manholes carry stories of firms, service systems, not to mention specific historical periods, such as Fascism. Indeed,  cast covers embossed with the iconic Fasces have survived, unchanged, all the way to blend into the contemporary urban scene.
The text is divided into two parts.
The first part aims to explore the role of manhole covers as part of the dynamics of urban transformations in the wake of the industrial revolution. Moreover, from a communication design standpoint, they will be treated as part of one of the most widespread and enduring productions of graphic symbols on an urban scale.
The second part provides a graphic reproduction and photographic documentation of manholes and covers from each region in Italy. This work results from a research project that lasted about four years, based on a photographic documentation of about 500 pieces collected across all Italian regions.
Subsequently, there is a ‘numismatic’ catalogue of 248 pieces that have been painstakingly redesigned. This constitutes an unprecedented collection of graphic signs and trademarks, which have been classified under what can be identified as some of the most important graphic families.
Furthermore, the book features an in-depth iconographic overview, based on archive research primarily carried out at research centres such as the Museo Italiano della Ghisa (Italian Museum of Cast Iron) - Neri Foundation Archive and the Pirelli Foundation. Thanks to this work, some of the earliest steel company catalogues with examples of manholes, manhole covers and cast-iron grates as well as communication and advertising materials were collected.
Another important contribution to the cultural contextualisation of manhole covers is provided by a number of important photographers and photojournalists, such as Dora Maar, Lee Lockwood, Louis Stettner and Thurston Hopkins, who used this object to interpret contemporary modernity in metropolitan areas during the 20th century.   Additionally, the volume features quotations and references in architecture, film and art.
The introduction to the text is given by Giulio Iacchetti and Matteo Ragni, two of Italy’s most important designers, who were awarded the 2014 Compasso d’Oro for their work on a series of cast-iron manhole covers manufactured by the Italian company Montini.

Hi I've been summoned by my good friend and paisano @jar-jar-ate :)
I'm not reaaally an expert in explicitly queer films but there's homoeroticism EVERYWHERE in classic westerns and spaguetti westerns (the italian 60's version of what a western should be) and I happen to be a huge classic cinema nerd so here you have it.
So, my recs in this matter:
Homoeroticism and queer coding in Hollywood westerns:
Red River (Howard Hawks, 1948)
It's a well-known fact that Montgomery Clift was queer; his character and the relationship between him and John Ireland's character in this movie is considered very much queer-coded.
Tumblr media
The Ox-Bow Incident (William A. Wellman, 1942)
In this one there's a interesting subtext about what is to be considered "weak" and queer in a toxic masculine culture (and viewers are put in the queer POV, so sided with the queer people).
Tumblr media
Johnny Guitar (Nicholas Ray, 1954)
This one is weird, it's not about gay or lesbian relationships BUT there's plenty of queer and gender-non-conforming themes (i wouldn't call them "subtle" as well) because it's about two woman in the prototypical masc roles in the classic western and a man being merely a love interest. It's a freaking GOOD movie. One of my favs.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Calamity Jane (David Butler 1953) is also very gender-non conforming and lesbian coded (and a musical...!) but i've heard (this one is still on my watchlist) that is a little bit bended into appear heteronormative in the end.
Tumblr media
Homoeroticism and gay representation in spaguetti westerns:
Well, many people think that italian cinema in the 60s and 70s is pretty homoerotic by hollywood standards. People nowadays ship Clint Eastwood's Man with no Name character with almost every masc character in the Dollars Trilogy. But, if I may, the best example is:
Quien sabe? (AKA A bullet for the general, Damiano Damiani, 1966)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Oh boy this isn't just vibes. Niño and Chuncho have really SOMETHING between them. And I have a huuge crush in Gian María Volonté who portrays Chuncho so I'm not completely neutral about this movie but I'm pretty sure you're gonna love it.
Also I've not seen this one but I've been told that in Django Kill… If You Live, Shoot! (Giulio Questi, 1967) there's plenty of (unhinged i think? Not really sure but that's what they say) gay rep. It's also in my watchlist! (Tomas Milián portrayed a lot of queer coded characters in his career much like Montgomery Clift)
Tumblr media
More modern westerns:
I'm sure somebody have already told you about Brokeback Mountain (Ang Lee, 2005 )and about Strange way of Life (2023), a short by Pedro Almodovar with Ethan Hawke and Pedro Pascal. It's nice, not my favourite but well made.
Tumblr media
More in the not-explicit-but-queer-coded side of the scale there's this 90s flick, Ravenous (Antonia Bird, 1999). If you enjoy (or tolerate) gore and canibalism metaphors you're gonna love this one. If you liked Hannibal I would give this a chance rn.
Tumblr media
I also enjoyed The Power of the Dog (Jane Campion, 2022) and the complex power dinamics between queer characters in a more late western age.
Tumblr media
I hope you find something you like in this list! Enjoy!
does anyone have any queer western recs? I'm having very specific media cravings lately and I need this.
