( some neurology stuff hcs for project verse; DON’T REBLOG )
// do you want to hear akai ramble on about how neurology check ups worked during project verse in regards to izuru? then sit down, buckle up, and get ready-
EEG ROUTINE CHECKUP
okay, so. first let’s look at this machine.
this is called an electroencephalography machine, or EEG, for short. to put it simply, it ‘reads’ brain activity and ‘translates’ it into different waves depending on the person’s state of mind:
beta: shown when a person is awake and active
alpha: when a person is awake, but relaxed
theta: when they’re sleeping
delta: when they’re in deep sleep
the patient has several wires called ‘electrodes’ connected to their scalp, which lead the brain activity to the machine.
however, it’s also used for other things. why would izuru need to go through a routine check up involving this machine, you ask?
well, first off, in pre-surgery hinata’s case, in my AU, he was technically given medication and followed certain procedures to erase his memories and eventually induce him in a state of medically induced coma. the machine technically monitors the effects of the sedatives and anaesthesia he had to go through.
in project izuru’s case, aside from the fact that the presence of the EEG aids in the supposed study of feral people, it’s because izuru himself suffers certain conditions, at least at the beggining of the project:
non-epileptic seizures
how are they non-epileptic, though? well, one of the major differences between epileptic and non-epileptic seizures is that in non-epileptic seizures, the patient keeps their eyes shut and rarely causes himself harm. this is technically true as izuru’s convulsions involve him suffering spasms and twitches while becoming stiff and unable to move.
what causes these seizures, though?
migraines
night terrors
both migraines and night terrors are caused due to the modifications done to his brain during surgery. both highly trigger seizures when they happen and it wasn’t until later into the project (before shit went done, to put it simply) that izuru’s treatment corrected these conditions.
migraines are recurring headaches that can go from mild to severe depending on the case. night terrors are ‘’nightmares’’ that trigger a panic attack on their wake.
in the latter, patients often lash out in their sleep, thrashing about or trying to flee from something. sometimes it’s dangerous to awake them since they can potentially attack the person awakening them. people often forget what they had dreamed about or done during that panic attack, and it’s often tied with cases of sleepwalking.
GENERAL NEUROLOGY CHECKUPS
this is basically how matsuda’s checkups work in regards to izuru, and the definition of a neurology checkup in general:
blood and urine tests.
this one is to look for infections, toxins or protein disorders. one of the things provided to izuru as part of the project was a healthy diet to keep him in an optimal state, so this would be ocassional.
imaging tests.
this is to find tumors, brain damage and blood problems in either the brain or spine. would be checked for this regularly.
EEG tests
(which we already have discussed)
electromyogram (EMG for short)
similar to EEG except the wires or needles go into the patient’s skin or muscle to analyze the communication between nerve and muscle.
evoked potentials
follows the same procedure as EEG except matsuda would stimulate izuru’s senses to check the response of both his senses and nerves. one example would be flashing lights in front of him to see how his eyes respond or squeezing a squeaky toy to see how his hearing responds.
spinal tap/lumbar puncture
some fluid is drawn from the spine to look for blood or infection. tbh i can see this happening only once, since the procedure seems painful and the side effects can actually worsen izuru’s migraines and evoke nausea, along other things. interestingly, one way to prevent most of its side effects is to keep the patient laying on their side for a couple of hours.
muscle/nerve biopsy
used to find neuromuscular disorders. a bit of tissue is taken from the patient and then analyzed under a microscope. this is the one i’ve researched less for, so i’m not sure how izuru would need this based on the other options, but regardless.
#outofeclipses#headcanons/#medical/#needles mention/#sharp objects mention/#ask to tag#( DON'T REBLOG. )#long post/#( whoops i got very long but regardless!! )#( if any of you is more familiar with this and wants to correct me feel free to! )#( im no neurologist after all haha )

Revolutionizing Plastic Manufacturing with Lectro Treat Equipment
In the dynamic world of plastic manufacturing, advancements in technology are constantly shaping the industry. One such revolutionary innovation is the integration of Lectro Treat equipment and plasma treatment in the blow molding process. These cutting-edge technologies are transforming the way plastics are treated and molded, offering unprecedented efficiency and quality.
Lectro-treat equipment has emerged as a game-changer in the realm of surface treatment for plastics. Whether it's enhancing adhesion, improving printability, or promoting better bonding, Lectro Treat provides a versatile solution for various plastic applications. This technology works by using a controlled electrical discharge to modify the surface properties of plastics, making them more receptive to subsequent processes.
When it comes to blow molding, plasma treatment for plastics takes the manufacturing process to new heights. Blow molding is a widely used method for creating hollow plastic products, such as bottles and containers. Plasma treatment acts as a crucial pre-treatment step in this process, ensuring that the plastic surface is properly prepared for molding.
The key advantage of plasma treatment lies in its ability to clean, activate, and modify the surface energy of plastic materials. This results in improved adhesion of labels, inks, and coatings, ultimately enhancing the overall quality and appearance of the final product. Additionally, plasma treatment helps eliminate any contaminants on the plastic surface, ensuring a pristine starting point for the blow molding process.
The integration of Lectro-treat equipment and plasma treatment in blow molding machines is a testament to the industry's commitment to sustainability. By optimizing surface treatment, manufacturers can reduce waste and enhance the recyclability of plastic products. This aligns with the growing demand for eco-friendly solutions in the plastics industry.
Moreover, the use of lectro treat and plasma treatment in blow-molding machines ensures consistent and precise results. The controlled nature of these technologies allows manufacturers to achieve uniform surface modifications, resulting in products with enhanced performance characteristics.
