nico will only ever recover from fear of any sort while alone. if hes with someone then hes just. Outta there. that kinda vulnerability around another person??? no thank you!

but even then he doesnt... hm, im trying to find a way to phrase this that doesnt sound nuts. but well. he doesnt really believe in calming down after being scared?? hes much faster to just, redirect that energy, in a distract-distract-distract sort of way. nervous paranoid scared energy Is energy, after all, and serves a good purpose; focusing on danger, strongholding, noticing threats one might not have recognized earlier. its... not a sustainable way of doing things, but its served him well so far!
