I saw Five Nights and had a lovely time
granted i've never played any of the games, just seen clips from one and three and watched a video on the lore so I could be entirely incorrect here, but isn't The Toreador Song basically Freddy Fazbear's theme music? the whole movie I was waiting for The Toreador Song as a lead in to a jump scare and the closest I ever got was Foxy doing the Crazy Frog intro or whatever
Matthew Lillard was having a wonderful time and I endorse it
wish he had called during Peeta's first shift and left the longest voicemail ever like in the first game but seeing as how they didn't keep the battery-and-door mechanic, I get why that wasn't included
shout out to the Jim Henson Creature Workshop, those puppets were AMAZING
loved the shot of Bonnie and Chica staring into the security camera all Now you fucked up
kind of surprised there's never been a Freddy Fazbear's location opened in real life, then again I guess Child Death: The Restaurant is perhaps not the best business model
spoilers below the cut
one day I will learn that iconic horror actors showing up in a movie are not just there for a single scene cameo and will in fact be relevant to the plot
I thought Springtrap was a green bunny? Or is that just because the animatronic is all old and decayed

You were on your car, following Roger for about a quarter until the paps lost you. It was a crazy moment you don't want to relive again. As you parked outside the pub, he opened the door for you to walk in. Always a gentleman. You noticed his bandmates' figures from a corner and walked closer with Roger behind you.
"Oh hello Y/n!" Brian greeted you and made some space for you to sit.
"Hi Brian, Fred, John." You smiled at them and waited for Roger to bring an extra chair to sit next to you.
"We didn't expect you here, how are you, darling?" Freddie asked.
"I'm a little upset." You were straightforward, Roger was aware and he placed his hand on your thigh, trying to calm you down. Brian noticed his move and understood something was wrong.
"You want to talk about it?" Brian asked.
"The man she was seeing appeared at her work and embarrassed her to death. I was there at half of the scene and intervened." Roger started.
"Oh, fuck." Freddie gasped.
"I'm afraid he saw us last night." You turned to Roger, referring to him fucking you at his cabinet.
"Yeah, you're right. Well, at least he's staying at the police's cell tonight. He was acting irrationally in public. He caused trouble." Roger spoke to his bandmates too.
The waiter came to your place, took yours and Roger's order and left. "Y/n, where did you find this man? He's such a troublemaker!" Freddie said.
"It doesn't matter where I met him, he just won't accept the fact I want to get back with Rog." You admitted and felt your heart beating fast. Roger wrapped his arm around you, feeling extremely happy of your declaration.
"So, you also want to get back with him?" Freddie asked surprised.
"I'd give it one more chance..." you sighed and stared at Roger, wishing he'd be different this time.
"Wow, that's big news!" Freddie said.
"What are you going to do with R/N? He won't give up this easy." Roger asked.
"I have no idea. I'll come up with something." You sighed.
The beers arrived and so on, you spent these couple of hours with the Queen members, drinking and having fun. They always liked your company but most of them, Roger. He enjoyed watching you having fun with his bandmates. He liked seeing you laughing and joking around. Later, you drove off to your own apartment, knowing it's safe to walk in to get more clothes and personal stuff including your daughter's. You were about to move out soon and didn't want to tire Laura anymore with all these movings and rides. You had to talk with your landlord about moving out so you didn't waste time.
Time passed fast and you drove at Roger's place again, with your suitcase hanging on your hand. He saw you coming closer to his door and there he was, standing happy at your presence.
"Hi." He smiled and leaned in to kiss your lips. "Come on in." He made way for you to walk in and suddenly Laura's cheering voice echoed to your ears.
"Mummy!" She cajoled.
"Hello, my little baby!" You knelt down to kiss her. "How was your day? I missed you!"
"I got an A in maths!" She jumped showing her excitement.
"Wow, that's amazing sweetheart! Well done!" You praised your blonde little girl and kissed her again.
"Women of my life," Roger started and Laura and you turned your gazes to him. "I have an announcement to make," he cleared his throat trying to make it funny for Laura.
"What is it, dad?" She asked.
"Tonight we are going out, the three of us. Diner at nine, how's it?" He asked waiting to hear your affirm.
"That's great!" You said with a huge smile on your face.
"Wow, dad! Yes! I'm so happy! I'm just gonna rush to my room and finish my homework!" She was as excited as you and maybe a little more because she barely remembers Roger and you being lovebirds.
"Don't rush it, love, your answers might be wrong! I'll come and check you!" He joked and laughed. He then came closer to you. "You brought a suitcase?" He asked as he checked it.
"Yes, I talked with the landlord, he has no issue with me moving out. I can leave at any moment. Are you surely okay about it?" You asked him trying to hide any possible doubts turning around your heads.
"I'm more than sure about it. To get things straight, I was never okay with the divorce-" he started.
"Me neither, it was your behaviour towards me." You stopped him.
"Let me finish." He gestured his hands on you and let him speak. "I know, I was unfaithful and an asshole, but this time I do want to settle down with you.". His eyes spoke the truth to you and wanted to believe him. You were questioning again what if he becomes what he was like before? What if he cheats on you again?
"Okay." You nodded with your eyes on the floor and then you looked at him again. "This is the last chance. You know it didn't work back then." You whispered and he agreed with you. But now, he wants to fight to gain your trust back.
"What about the rest of your clothes and stuff back at the flat?" He asked.
"I called the furniture mover company. They are willing to move our stuff here on Friday." You answered.
"Oh the sooner the better. Can't wait to live with you again." He pulled you in arms, hugging you tight. "Oh," he pulled away for a second.
"What is it?" You asked confused.
"I didn't have the time to tell you how sexy you look on this tight shirt, did I?" He winked, trying to flirt with you.
"No, you didn't." You laughed at his compliment. "Guess it's your kink?" You asked.
"You are my kink." He winked and kissed you softly. "Now go to my bedroom. Tonight, I want you to wear that dress hanging on my closet." He bit his lip and that feeling again got you again. He always bought you dresses you never asked for. But you gotta admit, this man has taste. In everything.
"You didn't have to, Rog." You said with a soft smile on your lips.
"I chose it for you. I want you to wear it. It's a gift." He said back, trying to not hear any other discourage from you.
"Thank you..." your eyes sparkled and kissed him again before going upstairs to see it. He was spoiling you and he liked that.
Later-----
You dressed in the dress Roger bought you: a blue sapphire satin dress, with a smooth cut on your leg, and your torso. It was flattering your waist, your visible leg and your breasts. It fit you like it was made just for you. Roger knew you really well, he knew your body size and type. He could choose the ideal dress for you without worrying if it's not your colour or the fabric that could flatter you less. You couldn't stop looking yourself at the mirror, it was a dreamy dress, one of the best you've ever worn.
Tumblr media
A gentle knock on the door awakened your daydreaming. "May I come in?" It was Roger who obviously wanted to get into his bedroom.
"Sure." You coughed after stepping back from the mirror.
"Holy shit." Roger gasped when he walked in the room. His eyes couldn't be taken away from you. "You are stunning." He came closer to you, checking the dress out. "It looks more beautiful on you than I thought." He smiled at you and twisted you around with his hand.
"You think so?" You asked with a giggle.
"I'm certain." He stared at you for a few seconds before returning back to reality. "So, I dressed Laura for tonight, she's ready. I just have to wear my suit and fix my hair a bit and we're leaving." He walked through his closet to grab one of his thousand ironed tuxedos.
You carefully sat on his desk's chair, crossing your legs and actually noticing you have no shoes to wear. You only had the heels you wear at work. They don't match your dress. "Uh, Roger?" You asked.
"Yes?" He replied while he was taking his clothes off to wear his black tuxedo.
"I, um, only have one pair of shoes here. You know, the heels I wore today." You stood up going closer to him, helping him with buttoning his suit after he wore the pair of trousers. He was carefully watching your movements and then your exposed torso, he was absorbed by your hands and then your pink lips.
"I have a surprise for you Cinderella." He joked around and grabbed his blue tie, ready to wear it around his neck.
"Again?" You looked surprised. "At least let me fix your tie." You tied the tiny fabric carefully as if it was made of porcelain. Moments such as, remind you of some award shows he occasionally took you with. It felt nice fixing each other's clothes and details. It was all so magical, even your thoughts travelled together.
"Y/n?" He asked.
"Mmm?" You absentmindedly returned.
"Remember when we went to the Brits nine years ago? I think it was the first time I asked you to attend an award show with me." He smiled.
"Yes, of course, I do. I was at my first trimester at the time, I was throwing up at the toilet." You laughed.
"You did?" He was shocked at your confession as if he doesn't remember.
"Don't you remember? I was leaving our table all the time." You reminded him.
"I guess I was too focused on winning the best single. I'm sorry in delay." He laughed and his hands found your waist, hugging you warmly.
"Apology accepted. But it didn't matter, I was so happy for you. You were winning the one award after the other, you impregnated me..." you giggled after remembering that night.
"It was planned though." He joked. And now that his tie is fixed, he wore his black suit jacket around and made you sit on the chair you were before. "You think I didn't think of your shoes, Cinderella?" His fingertips teased your leg, after grabbing a box from the drawer.
"Oh don't tell me!" You awed.
He opened the box and inside of it, there was a beautiful pair of black heels, special for a night out. He gently wore the pair on your feet and helped you stand up on your feet. They were really comfortable and easy-to-walk heels. "Thank you!" You kissed him.
"Your welcome." He approached the door and waited for you to go downstairs.
You walked down the stairs and Laura was taken aback by your total figure, she hasn't seen you glowing in happiness. "Wow mum, you're beautiful!" She gasped.
"Thank you! Shall we go?" You asked her and she came closer to you, grabbing your hand.
"Wait for me at my car outside, I'm coming," Roger stated and you did as he said.
-----------------
The car drive was silent, not awkward though. You could feel Roger feeling apprehensive about the diner. He was trying to change all this time. You just didn't let him, until the last two days when you saw him trying to reach you for real and R/N showed red flag signs. Laura knew nothing about him but she'd obviously prefer her father than him.
"Here we are..." Roger broke the long-lasting silence and reduced speed when the fancy restaurant was right opposite you. Flashing lights hurt your eyes when paps noticed Roger's car slowing speed. At least, the windows were non-transparent so Laura couldn't get too distracted.
"Baby, don't look at the flash, it's cameras everywhere." Roger turned to Laura to warn her about the paps. She is aware of having a dad celebrity but thankfully never talks about it to her classmates, let alone brag. "Let me park the car and we're getting out. I'll keep you on my arms until we get at the foyer." He drove a little closer to the parking before you were ready to get out. You haven't felt yourself be taken photos for a long time. It frustrated Roger and you but mostly him because he disliked being papped at his personal moments, let alone when his child is with him. Many were the times when Roger and Laura were papped whenever he was with her on weekends or vacations. "Y/N, cover your eyes as you walk to the entrance door." He advised and then you both opened the car's doors to walk inside. You started walking to get some paps with you so Laura and Roger could walk with ease to the restaurant.
"Y/N, are you getting back with Roger?" Paps started questioning you but you knew you had to stay silent. You never spoke to them. You let Roger do the negotiations. He's the public figure, not you. "What are your statements about today's event at the place you work?" Of course, they'd reported it.
You reached the entrance door and waited for Roger to come to you. He carried Laura on his arms and her face was buried on his neck, trying to not be seen by the cameras. He looked at you with the are you okay look and you nodded until the receptionist opened the glass door for you.
"Have you made a reservation, sir?" The receptionist asked checking the list.
"Yes, it's Taylor." He put Laura down and you all patiently waited.
"Nice, table for three, follow me." He smiled and followed him to the table the reservation was. Next to the window, great. Paps could see you now so you told Laura to sit behind the window so her face couldn't be seen.
"That was crazy out there." He sighed as you all sat down.
"Yes, I internally panicked. Laura are you okay?" You asked your kid when she drank some of the water, the waiter served her.
"Yes, I am." She assured with a smile.
"What will you drink sir?" The waiter turned to Roger.
"A bottle of Chardonnay, we'll need it." He laughed and checked on you.
"Right away, sir." He left and now all three of you started talking.
"So Laura what do you think of tonight's diner?" Roger asked her.
"I didn't expect that. I thought you weren't together anymore..." She declared. "Mum, didn't we expect R/N for diner tonight? What happened," she asked confused.
"Laura um.." You cleared your throat before starting to talk. "I talked with your dad and we thought we should get back together." You started. "How does that sound to you?" You hoped she would be positive about it.
"Really?" She asked and looked both at Roger and you. "Mum, dad, that's wonderful!" She gasped.
"You think so?" Roger asked.
"Yes! I was sad when you were arguing all this time. I just hope it won't be the same anymore. It's lovely when we are under the same roof, I feel we're a family but when you argue, I can't stand it..." She admitted and a wave of guilt took you over. She was witnessing your Homeric arguments all this time, neither said a word, nor burst out crying. She was silent and never complained regardless of how much she missed her dad.
"This time's, going to be alright. We discussed it with your mum and it feels right to be back again. Because hands-off, but we missed each other. That's a fact we can't argue over." Roger laughed at Laura and she was happy to hear it.
"So mum, we're leaving our home?" She asked.
"Yes, we're going to dad's." You smiled at her.
You drank and ate like a proper family. It was a worthy diner and definitely full of surprises. You had no idea. Roger excused himself and stood up from his chair and got down on his knees next to you. Laura lost it at the sight of her dad kneeling to you. Your mouth was wide opened at his body position. People around the restaurant were looking at you now. They probably knew who Roger was and they were all awed at the sight of the hot drummer of Queen getting on knees for you. "Roger, what are you doing?" You gasped with your hands on your mouth.
"Y/N..." He started and took out from his pocket a small red box. You were ready to tear. Laura came closer to you, she had to enjoy the scene. "You're the love of my life." He added and that sent you to heaven and back. "When we were apart, I couldn't find love." His eyes found yours. He was honest and that blue colour of his irises sent you shivers. "That divorce awakened my love for you; I was unfaithful, I know. I was dishonest, I know that too. What I didn't know was that I couldn't live without you. So..." He took a deep breath and revealed a platinum ring with three diamonds on heart shapes. It was beautiful but not as beautiful as Roger's statement. "Y/N, will you marry me again?" His eyes were glowing as his fingers carefully grabbed the ring and wore it around your fourth finger. You stared at him as if he was the most special thing in the world. You then looked at Laura who was crying from happiness.
"Yes, I'll marry you again." You tore as you accepted his proposal and now he let out a relieving smile. Roger stood on his feet again and picked you up, asking for a loving kiss. "I love you." You whispered in his ear, not letting go of his hug.
"I love you too." His hand hugged your entire body, your back was covered by his arms and hands. His eyes caught Laura's who was the happiest kid on earth. She has the chance to see her parents getting married. Again. "I promise I won't be the asshole I was." He confessed to your ear. People at the restaurant couldn't stop applauding and congratulating you two. It was a delirious moment.
3 MONTHS LATER
You and Roger got married two weeks after his proposal at the city's town hall with Freddie and John being witnesses. A little later, The Magic Tour started and your husband had the bright idea to take Laura and you on tour since she was done with school priorities due to summer break. You were hanging out with Queen members and the two other wives. It was a great experience, probably the greatest tour of the band. Laura was the happiest you've ever seen her. You all had some spare time to explore the cities, enjoy each other's company and so on. Needless to say that Roger and you had sex at the early dates of the tour and now you have your period delay for a couple of months. In this time, you vomited a lot and felt dizzy, so a pregnancy test was the answer to all your symptoms. And yes, you were pregnant again on Roger's kid. You felt extremely happy about it and now that you know about your pregnancy, you wanted to share it with him, with your husband.
You were at your hotel room, in Madrid, eating at the balcony some junk food you bought earlier. You heard Roger entering the room, probably alone because Laura was with the other Queen kids.
"Y/N?" He searched for your figure until you answered from out there. "Oh, there you are." He smiled and leaned closer to kiss you. "I thought you were at the pool."
"Well, yeah, I was hungry." You smiled and took another bite.
"Again?" He smirked because he was suspicious about your condition. He has noticed your irregular sleeping and eating schedules and definitely saw you feeling disgusted. "Is there something you want to tell me?" He asked and sat next to you.
"Like what?" You raised your brow, playing around
"Well, I don't know," he moved his shoulders in confusion. "Something personal?" He tried to check you out but you couldn't be seen behind the table you were sitting.
"Come with me." You stood up and caught his hand to follow you inside.
You removed your robe and stayed at your bikini, letting him notice anything different on you. He was way too focused at your belly, trying to notice the tiniest.
"I'm pregnant!" You announced with a huge smile on your face and Roger needed a few seconds to process it.
"P-pregnant?" He asked ready to explode from happiness. "Oh God, I'm gonna be a dad again?" He tore and ran to you hugging you and kissing you.
"Yes! It's been two months, already..." You tore with him and felt happier than ever.
-----1987-----
And somehow, Roger and you stayed together after getting married again. Nine months later, you'd give birth to another blonde baby girl and now that Roger focused on his solo projects, he had more spare time to spend it with his beloved family.

“It’s a world of truck drivers”: ‘Twin Peaks: The Return’ Recaps, Parts 1 & 2
Slightly over a year after I started this project (which, in terms of me and projects is actually alarmingly punctual...), we’re finally diving into 2015′s Twin Peaks: The Return. I’ll be following a similar format to my other recaps-- two episodes per post, notes made as I watch. I hope to expand on some theories I developed over the course of the original series, and may link to relevant recaps in a few cases. As always, if you’re following along I’d love to hear from you! Let’s part those red velvet curtains and begin, shall we?
Part One:
-We open with Agent Cooper and Laura Palmer in the ‘waiting room’ of the Black Lodge: “I’ll see you again in twenty-five years. Meanwhile...”
-Coop, older but still in his suit and tie, w/ The Giant. They’re in black & white, so it’s hard to see the room, but it resembles the room ‘above the store’ in Fire Walk With Me. The Giant gives Cooper some information: “Remember: 430. Richard and Linda. Two birds with one stone.”
-Dr. Jacoby, still chipper as ever in his red-and-blue glasses, accepts a delivery of shovels.
-And suddenly we’re in New York City at night, Manhattan glowing in a gold electric haze. A young man in a warehouse of some kind, accepting a delivery of coffee from a pretty girl named Tracy, but tells her she can’t come upstairs. (Side note: as I was typing this, Simon & Garfunkel’s “The Only Living Boy in New York” came up on shuffle. I swear I didn’t plan this.)
-Back in Twin Peaks, Benjamin Horne is still running the Great Northern, but Jerry’s gone green-- as in, weed. I love his funky knitted outfit.
-Over at the Sheriff’s office, some confusion-- a man comes in looking for ‘Sheriff Truman’, and Lucy Brennan (nee Moran) asks him ‘which one’?
-And then, driving on a dark road, pulling up to an isolated house... it’s him, but it’s not. Dale Cooper’s suit and tie have been forsaken for a leather jacket and a snake-print shirt, his neat dark hair is long, worn in a silver clasp, and his eyes, that were so kind, are utterly dead. He is finally addressed as “Mr. C”.
-NYC: Tracy and her friend take advantage of the security guard’s absence to canoodle. The glass box flickers, goes black, and then shatters as a form emerges out of the blackness toward them. Haven’t these kids ever watched a horror movie?
-Buckhorn, South Dakota: Marjorie Greene leads  police to Ruth Davenport’s apartment. Ruth’s head is on the bed inside, but the body below it is definitely not hers.
-Finally, a late-night call between two steadfast souls, Deputy Chief Tommy ‘Hawk’ Hill, and a sickly Margaret Lanterman, a.k.a. the Log Lady. The Log, via Margaret, informs Hawk: “Something is missing and you have to find it.”
Part Two:
-We start in Buckhorn: High-school principal Bill Hastings has been imprisoned on suspicion for Ruth Davenport’s murder. His wife Phyllis visits, and things are not what we thought-- they’re both (?) cheating on each other, and she’s glad to be rid of him. In the next cell but one, a Woodsman appears. Phyllis goes home, and finds Mr. C waiting for her.
-Las Vegas: a Mr. Todd summons ‘Roger’, gives him cash and says, ‘tell her she has the job.’ Roger asks, “Why do you let Him make you do these things?” Apparently Todd isn’t happy about it either.
-Buckhorn: Mr. C in the diner with Ray, Darya, and Jack, drinking coffee. Mr. C wants information from Ray-- “I don’t need anything. I want that information.”
-Twin Peaks: Hawk is in the woods, talking to Margaret. “Something is supposed to happen here tonight.” He’s at Glastonbury Grove, and the trees are glowing.
-The Black Lodge: Laura, older, the way the real Laura never got to be, tells Cooper, “You can go out now.” The One-Armed Man is also there. We witness The Evolution of the Arm-- now a...thing...protruding from sycamore branches. It tells Coop his doppelganger must come back before Coop can leave.
-Buckhorn: Mr. C catches Darya in a lie-- she and Ray have been hired to kill him. Mr. C knows he’s due back in the Black Lodge, but he mutters, “I have a plan for that.” Once Darya is dead, C logs into the FBI website and speaks with someone he calls “Philip”-- as in, Philip Jeffries. But... is it?
-The Black Lodge: Cooper attempts to leave, but “something’s wrong”. He’s sucked into a void instead. Turns out that in NYC, while the box guard and Tracy were deciding to sneak upstairs, Cooper appeared briefly in the box.
-Twin Peaks: At the Palmer home, Sarah watches a nature documentary, of lions attacking a water buffalo.
-The Roadhouse: On stage, The Chromatics, singing “Shadow”. Shelley is out with her girlfriends, looking carefree and radiant. James Hurley enters, accompanied by green-gloved Freddie Sykes. He watches Shelley and her friends for a little bit too long, and Shelley springs to his defense: “There’s nothing wrong with him! He was in a motorcycle accident; he’s just quiet now. James is cool. He’s always been cool.”

Video
dailymotion
A segment about the recent news story, where Doki Doki Literature Club is part of an inquest into a 15 year old boy’s suicide.
The video clip is from Victoria Derbyshire’s programme, that I believed aired on BBC2 on the 28th June. In it, the presenter discusses this game, its age warnings and mental health risks to children. with Laura Dale, Lorna Fraser, and Helen Grounds.
Here’s a (long) transcript for this video.
VICTORIA DERBYSHIRE: Good morning, we're going to start this morning by talking about a free online game, after police and a coroner warned about the risks of it to children.
[The end of the trailer, of the characters in their cute anime style, is displayed as she talks]
VICTORIA: It's called "Doki Doki Literature Club", and it starts like a dating game set in a high school, and features a group of animated girls in a book club. Things do turn sinister, with characters self-harming and killing themselves. It's said to be suitable for players aged thirteen or over. It was launched last year and downloaded two million times in the first four months.
[Screen displays title card before returning to show Victoria again]
VICTORIA: An inquest will be held into the death of a fifteen year-old called Ben Walmsley from Bury, whose father said the game "dragged his son in", and a pre-inquest review is due to take place at 10 o' clock this morning in that case.
[As she talks, large letters on the screen appear, reading "Game is 'a risk to children'", "Emotionally vulnerable", "'Psychological horror'", "Suicide as a main feature" and "Not suitable for children"]
VICTORIA: Greater Manchester police have said "We believe this game is a risk to children, and young people, especially those who are emotionally vulnerable, and anyone with existing mental health concerns. A coroner has warned, "This is a psychological horror game, with suicide as a main feature", and notes too, "It does warn it's not suitable for children, however the graphics, etc, are clearly aimed at young people." We have contacted the game's creators, Team Salvato, but so far haven't heard back. Here's the trailer for the game, with that warning right at the start.
[A trailer for DDLC plays, beginning with a screen reading only "This game is not suitable for children or those who are easily disturbed" before showing its anime characters with upbeat music]
VICTORIA: Let's talk about this now, with the news editor from the video game website Kotaku UK, Laura Dale. Also mum of two and casual gamer Helen Grounds, she has played Doki Doki and is a fan. And Lorna Fraser is here, from the suicide prevention charity, Samaritans.
[The camera cuts to each of the three women in turn: Laura and Lorna are in the studio with Victoria, while Helen is displayed on a screen via video call. The interview takes place on a sofa in front of a screen displaying the DDLC logo and pictures of the characters. Midway through, a banner appears at the bottom of the screen reading: "Warning about online 'horror' game".]
VICTORIA: Welcome all of you, thank you very much for coming on the programme. Um, Laura. Describe the premise.
LAURA DALE: So, the basic premise of the game is that it starts off like a dating sim, as you said, that you go to this literature club, try to make friends with all these different girls, and it sort of subverts the expectations of that genre by becoming a horror narrative. Um, a little bit of spoilers for the game: one of the characters, as it turns out, is not happy that you're dating the other video game characters, and she manipulates events so that other characters will commit suicide and will sort of drive you towards dating her instead.
VICTORIA: And what's your reaction to this warning from the coroner and Greater Manchester police, about the risks to children and those who are vulnerable?
LAURA: I think that honestly it's the same as the risks of any piece of media that deals with these kinds of themes, be it video games or movies or books: if you have someone who is already in an emotionally vulnerable state, and you have them engaging with media that tackles these difficult themes, and they don't have an outlet to talk about that properly, that can be a problem. I think that a lot of it does just come down to... communication and making sure that if you've got a child who is already struggling with those themes, that you're aware of what kind of media they're engaging with.
VICTORIA: Helen, you've got two children, younger children. This game is said to be, said to be suitable for thirteen and up, and that's because it asks you to tick if you are thirteen and up, which of course any age, uh, could do. Despite the warning, do you think it is deliberately designed to look attractive to kids?
HELEN GROUNDS: Well, firstly it is a dating game, so yes aren't kids... to me, some people get the idea that anime style is "kiddy", because it looks cartoony, but in Japan anime can be for anyone, and it is over in the US and in the UK. And this type of game isn't a type of game for children. Uh, I would probably not say thirteen, um, but...
VICTORIA: So even that's too young?
[As she talks, the trailer plays again behind the video conversation window]
HELEN: I would say it's quite questionable, considering the sort of things that's in it, but it does say in the game when you actually start it up, there is ginormous text that says the game is not suitable for children, if you are easily disturbed you should not play this, it really does try and tell you, don't play this if you're under a certain age or if you are easily disturbed, and as someone who also does suffer from a mental health problem, I was thinking, ooh, should I actually play this? But I did, and it didn't affect me. If anything, some of the things that did come up kind of helped me realise that if a person sort of acts a certain way, maybe they really do need help.
VICTORIA: Right. Um. And how do you react to this warning from the coroner and from Greater Manchester police, and this is what the GMP say: "We believe the game is a risk to children and young people, especially those which are emotionally vulnerable and anyone with existing mental health concerns. I would ask parents to check the sites that children are using on a regular basis, as websites like this aren't flagged up by normal firewall settings.
[Both Helen and Laura nod]
HELEN: Yep, no, I totally agree. Uh, parents really need to know what their child is doing on the... online. I mean, I won't let my child go on my laptop on his own. He's only allowed to access certain things, and I sit with him, he would...
VICTORIA: And how old is he?
HELEN: He's... my oldest is eight years old. I, uh, he's only allowed to play a, a mouse game called "Hit the Button", which he's used in quite a lot of schools anyway. The only time he can use, access the internet is actually in school, which again, there's always a teacher there watching over the children when they're doing their IT, and I will sit with him, if he wants to do some homework, we'll go on Wikipedia together, and we research things together, we read it together.
VICTORIA: You said that--
HELEN: It's the thing--
VICTORIA: Yeah, uh, and you've said that you think thirteen is potentially too young. What would be a suitable age?
HELEN: Considering the things... I mean [sighs] it's a difficult, it's a difficult thing because, the issue is, free games like Doki Doki and Five Nights At Freddy's, they don't come under any kind of age rating, like video games that we buy in a game shop. So you can easily download them for free and not... they don't have to go through the whole stringency of going for... a, um, a certain rating like we have in the UK. Um... to be honest, I would say eighteen, considering there is quite some graphical parts in it. It is quite upsetting...
VICTORIA: Well let's be clear, when you play the game, do you see characters kill themselves? Sometimes in quite graphic situations.
HELEN: One of them especically, yes.
VICTORIA: Right. Lorna Fraser from Samaritans, how do you respond to that?
LORNA FRASER: Well, what we believe is, that this is an example of where it's really important for parents to be aware of the things that they do online. Just as you would want to protect your child in the offline environment, if, if your kids are going out, you'd like to know where they're going, who they're hanging out with, how they're getting home, this kind of thing. We would encourage parents to have these conversations with your kids, be aware of what they do online. You know, it's, it could give you a false sense of security because they're tucked away in their bedroom, or on their tablet or computer playing something, that they're safe at home. But just be aware that there are dangers. But it's also important to avoid any confusion around focusing on one particular game, because there will be others. So we don't want to give the message to parents, firstly to really alarm parents, because there are lots of good things online too, but not to give the message to parents that if your child isn't playing this particular game, then, then there's no cause for concern. You know, there are others.
VICTORIA: Laura, you're nodding your head in agreement.
LAURA: Definitely, um. There are certain, um, parts of what have been said about this particular game that do lead me to suspect that it may not have been the only game involved in this particular tragic event, um, without knowing specifically--
VICTORIA: We don't... well, we'll have to wait for the inquest, so we don't--
LAURA: Yeah. We'll have to obviously wait for the inquest, but there were statements made about this game by the father that are not things that are featured in this game, which would suggest that perhaps there were other games being engaged with that aren't the focus of this inquest. So, obviously, like... this is perhaps one game to look at and say, should your child be playing this, but also be aware of what else they're playing, there might be other potential risk factors available.
VICTORIA: I mean, the game itself warns that it's not suitable for children.
LAURA: Mm-hmm.
VICTORIA: Uh, Helen, as a mum of two, one being eight, says, "actually I think thirteen is too young". I mean, if you see in quite graphic situations, a character kill themself, would you agree eighteen would seem more appropriate?
LAURA: Um, the... games like this, as Helen mentioned, aren't rated by the, uh, any of the ratings boards in the UK. Most of the UK ratings boards would likely rate this at least a fifteen or an eighteen because it contains scenes of graphic violence relating to suicide, uh-
VICTORIA: So, um, sorry to interrupt that--
LAURA: Yes.
VICTORIA: So my question is: As a parent, if you're across all the stuff your kid's playing on tablets and laptops and phones, you might see the beginning of this, which says this game is not suitable for children. If that was me, I'd think, "Okay, so my teenager, my fourteen, fifteen in a year's time teenager, is alright playing this." And actually, if you played the game yourself as an adult, you might get to the end and think, this is not suitable for a fourteen, fifteen, sixteen year old.
LAURA: I, I certainly think that there are people who see that warning that says, you know, you should be over thirteen and would say, oh--
[The screen changes to show various scenes from the game trailer again as Victoria and Laura talk]
VICTORIA: It doesn't ,there isn't, there is not a warning that says you should be over thirteen, is there, let's be clear. All, what it says is that this game is not suitable for children, and you're supposed to tick the box if you are over thirteen.
LAURA: Yes well, my, my point being if there is a tick box that says "Are you over thirteen?", I can understand why parents would go, oh, my child is fourteen, fifteen, sixteen, he's probably fine with it, and... I think... there is definitely a concern to be made for, like, parents not paying attention to what their children are engaging with just because there's an age box that was ticked first.
VICTORIA: But I'm being realistic as a parent.
LAURA: Yeah.
VICTORIA: I mean, I might see it says thirteen, tick that box, I'd see the warning at the beginning, and then I would think okay, it's fine for my teenager.
LAURA: Yeah, I'm not saying that as a criticism of parents, like I, I understand where that difficulty is for parents, um. Yeah. I understand that, that difficulty.
VICTORIA: Um, Lorna. The NSPCC tell us the game creators, the game creators itself warn that it's not suitable for children and those that are easily disturbed. "Parents should be aware that the game contains highly sensitive and adult themes such as suicide. It's important for parents to have regular conversations with children about their online lives, that are as normal as asking about their day at school." What would your advice be to parents who are watching now, who might be concerned about this?
LORNA: To, to do exactly that, get to know what your kids are doing online, you know, make this part of everyday conversations so that it's not, it doesn't feel like you're prying into their private lives or, or doing anything like this. And, and also making mental health, emotional health part of everyday conversations, you know, these are things that families need to be talking about, because it helps to keep people safe.
VICTORIA: Okay. Thank you, all of you. Thank you very much Helen, thank you Lorna, thank you Laura. Thank you very much. A couple of messages here: Izzy on email says, "Doki Doki Literature Club is a horror game with a cute appearance, and it does tell you that when you start the game, it says children... or those who are easily disturbed, and you can go to a webpage that lists all the unpleasant content. It is up to parents to regulate and investigate the games that their children play, and ensure healthy communication, in case their child develops mental health problems." And this text, uh, from someone who doesn't leave their name: "I've been playing violent games like GTA from the first one, when I was six years old and Goldeneye on the N64, and I continue to do so twenty plus years later. I'm a successful individual with no criminal record and no tenancy to kill, rape or steal. Everyone is individual and every individual is different, but to blame the game explicitly is silly. The parents should have more of a grasp of what children are feeling like and offer support." Thank you for those, do keep them coming in. If you would like to contact someone about any mental health issues, you can find details of organisations offering information and support at bbc.co.uk/actionline. Or you can call for free at any time to hear recorded information on 08000 155 998.

Favorite Films of 2017
by Clay Keller
Tumblr media
I’m finding it difficult to write something coherent about Olivier Assayas’ Personal Shopper, partially because the more I watch it, the more I’m convinced that I’m not meant to try; that its power lies in its complete lack of interest in being “coherent.” Just as a life, especially one thrown into grief-stricken chaos, only has the coherence that we arbitrarily apply to it, Personal Shopper is a series of strange and beguiling instances, full of un-explained oddities, horrors, and loose-ends. Instances that capture, better than any movie I’ve seen, that ephemeral feeling of existential entrapment; of being not stuck in place, but captive somehow. It’s a maddening, inexplicable, feeling, and that a film could dramatize it so well is deeply impressive.
Speaking of captivity, Kristen Stewart delivers a performance in Personal Shopper that is so unvarnished, so unencumbered, that one has a difficult time conceiving that it was delivered at all, and not just simply lived. Each time I revisit this film I find it more difficult to turn away. It’s only a matter of time before Americans accept what the French celebrated a few years back: the fact that Kristen Stewart is fucking terrific.
Anyway, I don’t know. Maybe everything I wrote above is rambling pablum. A bunch of nonsense my mind concocted by way of trying to intellectualize (or excuse) an instinctual love of a weirdo movie in which Kristen Stewart has a dramatic imessage conversation for twenty minutes and gets attacked by a Victorian ghost, which is just audacious and great. Is Personal Shopper a brilliant work by a genius and his genius muse? Is Personal Shopper bullshit?
Or is it just me?

Baby Driver (Edgar Wright)
The Big Sick (Michael Showalter)
Get Out (Jordan Peele)
A Ghost Story (David Lowery)
Lady Bird (Greta Gerwig)
Lady Macbeth (William Oldroyd)
Molly’s Game (Aaron Sorkin)
Thor: Ragnarok (Taika Waititi)
Three Billboards outside Ebbing, Missouri (Martin McDonagh)
Win It All (Joe Swanberg)
Anticipated 2017 Films Not Yet Seen: The Post (Update: I loved it!), Phantom Thread (Update: Favorite PTA since TWBB), The Florida Project, mother!, Good Time
MOST ANTICIPATED IN 2018
Annihilation (Alex Garland)
- Behind the camera: our premier sci-fi screenwriter. In front of the camera: Portman, Thompson, and Isaac. In the audience: me.
The Happytime Murders (Brian Henson)
- The director of two of the best Muppet movies making his first feature in 20 years is definitely something to be excited about.
E-Book (Olivier Assayas)
- Assayas has been so contemplative lately that we’ve forgotten that he’s also a total goddamn genre-mixing weirdo (see: Demonlover, Boarding Gate). Now he’s making a “full-blown comedy” with Juliette Binoche, one of his oldest collaborators, and I am here for it.
Underwater (William Eubank)
- My favorite subgenre + my favorite Kristen Stewart = a movie I will probably love regardless of objective quality.
You Were Never Really Here (Lynne Ramsey)
- If this trailer doesn’t ignite all of your senses, you are dead to the magic of cinema: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yMqsd7Umxy8
FAVORITE CLASSICS FIRST SEEN IN 2017

How on earth did I not see Do the Right Thing until I was nearly 30? It’s almost unfathomable how colorful, funny, and heartbreaking Spike Lee’s 3rd film is. It has myriad memorable scenes and characters. It creates a sense of place in a way that is almost unparalleled in film history. It’s entertaining as hell. It also has a pulsating heart of essential humanity and righteous anger that vibrates at such an honest frequency as to make you feel literally connected to the screen as the narrative unfolds. Do the Right Thing shook me, and is one of those “as good or better than its out-sized reputation” films, alongside The Godfather and Casablanca.

FAVORITE TELEVISION
Tumblr media
Me, at the beginning of 2017: “I’ve never seen Twin Peaks, mostly because I’m worried I’ll hate it, I’m not really a David Lynch fan.” Me, in August of 2017: “HAVE YOU NOTICED THAT THE ZIG-ZAG FLOORS IN THE BLACK LODGE ARE THE SAME AS THE ZIG-ZAG FLOORS IN THE LOBBY OF ERASERHEAD’S APARTMENT BUILDING?! AND THERE’S A PHOTO OF A MUSHROOM CLOUD ON THE WALL?! IS IT ALL CONNECTED?!”
If I could retroactively make one of my 2017 resolutions be “do a total 180 on David Lynch and get super into Twin Peaks” then I would have accomplished something in this God-foresaken shit-ass year. I don’t know if it was age, or context, or what, but this year found my eyes suddenly opened to the genius of well-known genius David Lynch. I went from avoiding Twin Peaks for years to devouring and loving both of the original seasons. From “Mulholland Drive is weird and boring” to “Mulholland Drive is weird and a stone-cold modern masterpiece.” My former podcast co-host Darren Franich maintains that one needs to learn how to watch David Lynch, by watching David Lynch, and I couldn’t agree more. Watch just one of the elliptical missives that Lynch has released into our miasma and you will be left befuddled and possibly angry. Watch five and you’ll unlock the mysteries of the universe.
Hyperbole? Perhaps. Then again, did you see episode 8 of Twin Peaks: The Return?
It would have been so easy for Lynch and Frost to thrill Twin Peaks fans with The Return. After all, these are people (myself now included) who get goosebumps every time Kyle MacLachlan is so much as in the same room as a cup of coffee. Put a cherry pie on front of him and they (again, me now included) need to change their shorts. Instead, and, in retrospect, predictably, Lynch and Frost decided to use the eighteen hours Showtime gave them to thrill their audience in a different way: by creating an audio/visual experience the likes none of them had ever seen. Was it frustrating to wait nearly the entire season for our beloved Agent Cooper to return (if he does at all)? Yes. Were there storylines and characters that seemed meandering and pointless? Yes. Who the fuck is Freddie and why does he have a green glove hand? Yes. But none of that matters, because, for an entire summer, I rushed home on Sunday nights, needing to immerse myself in the wild juxtapositions of image and sound and performance that Lynch plucked out of the cosmos and so graciously delivered to us mere mortals, as soon as I possibly could.
When Cooper finally did come back, well, Lynch nailed that moment too (goosebumps! shorts-changing!), of course, because he’s just as good at giving you what you want as he is at giving you what you need. And nostalgia goosebumps are lovely and all, but it’s a testament to the success of Twin Peaks: The Return that the nostalgia goosebumps are not what I’ll remember. What I’ll remember is when Cooper (?) asks what year it is, Laura Palmer (?) screams, and the lights go out in Twin Peaks (?), and my skin basically tore apart at the seams.

note: part two is here and embrace yourselves for the next one! Reminding that R/N means random name and also if you find my syntax or my voc messy and poor, that's because english is not my first language and I don't remember that many proficiency-level words :) enjoy
summary: you’re divorced with queen’s roger taylor due to constant cheating and irrational behaviour towards you. but u have one person in common: your daughter, Laura aka your favourite human on earth. Your marriage with roger had its ups and downs but laura was the happiness in it. Now that she’s 8 and starts to realise how your terms with roger are, you finally tell her that you’re seeing another man except her father and she took it really warmly. She seemed excited to meet the new man unlikely your ex-husband who accidentally learns about it by Laura, the weekend you would leave her at his place: on weekends you had some cute getaways with R/N because the court decided that Laura could stay or visit her dad on weekends and stay with him for five days each Christmas and Easter vacations. On summers he has the right to be with her for two weeks.

Roger couldn't sleep after finding out you were living your life. He believed you would stay focused on Laura instead of fixing your love life. But jokes on him. You aren't committing any crime, don't feel guilty about it. He didn't even know how jealous he can be of you. Laura was with him, they spent a very productive weekend together. Freddie visited them and now he knows too. Roger opened up to his friend.
"She sleeps with that asshole, how can she do that?" He was furious. Laura was playing at the grass while the two friends were sitting at the garden's saloon.
"Pardon me Rog, but she does that with her will. She probably likes that man. Let her." Freddie got your back and that's what he is supposed to do because in this situation Roger is wrong.
"But Laura is too young to meet another man as a stepfather." He attempted to defend himself with his daughter.
"Laura also didn't have to listen to your daily fights before the divorce. Remind me, who was responsible?" Fred mocked him.
"Yes, I know. I'm not bragging for cheating on her, you know how tour life and being a rock star is." Roger explained but Freddie stopped him.
"John's also touring and he lives the rock star life but he's a family man and his heart is always home. Why aren't you like him?" Freddie was right. But Roger wouldn't accept it. He's arrogant.
"I'm not John. Okay?" He looked at Laura while she was playing. "But I love Laura with my entire heart. I don't like it when I can't see her more often..." His face was sad now.
"You could talk to Y/N about it," Freddie suggested.
"She would probably forbid me to see my kid after telling her." He giggled but deep down he believed it.
"Ah don't be ridiculous, she doesn't have the right as long as you give financial support every month for Laura." Freddie laughed but then they stopped talking because they heard your car. "Is s-she here? So early? It's not ten yet." Freddie asked and checked his watch.
"This bitch is really doing it on purpose. I will be right back." Roger got furious and stood up, to go inside his house and invite you in. Laura didn't notice a thing.
Roger opened the front door and what he saw wasn't the best thing in the world. You had the nerve to come with your new partner. Just to make him more jealous than he was all weekend. He turned red. He couldn't talk.
"Is Laura ready?" You asked ignoring his state of mind.
"No, she has no idea you're here. You were supposed to pick her up four hours later.". Roger crossed his arms and stared at the man next to you. A brunette tall man with nice muscles and a nice smile. But he is not Roger.
"Indeed, we just arrived earlier than we expected. Now call Laura, we have to go." You had to be really cold towards him or else you would break down and you didn't want that. You love him so much but you can't be with him. It doesn't work.
"Stop doing this. Fucking stop." Roger was going crazy. He destroyed you but you destroy him more.
"Stop what? I want my child." You arrogantly moved your shoulders.
"You can't keep me away from her as much as you want it. I have four hours left with her, you have to let me spend them with her. I'll bring her to your home." He tried to sound calm but his voice was trembling.
"Are you sure?" You asked confused.
"Yes, you don't have to shove your boyfriend right into my face. He's nice, but not your type." He laughed and that made you uncomfortable.
"Yo, stop disrespecting her or I'll beat you. She has told me stories about you. You're a high-quality rock star but a low-quality husband. Too pity." The brunette man said, trying to defend you but that made things worse. Roger and R/N would beat each other in front of you and the high-class neighbourhood.
"What the hell, stop you two right now. R/N get in the car. I'm coming." You got in the middle trying to stop the tension between these two. The man heard your order and waited for you at the car. "You are such a wanker." Your face was too close to his. There was eye contact again.
"Oh I won't be tonight." He winked and looked at R/N who wasn't looking at you two.
"What do you mean?" You asked confused. "You're supposed to bring Laura home."
"Of course I will. But not without getting what I want." He quickly checked on R/N and without hesitation, he stole a fast kiss from you.
"Fuck off, Roger!" You said and left without saying any other word. Neither Roger nor R/N. He's such a player. You like it.
Roger walked at the garden again, Freddie was showing the flowers to Laura and she looked curious trying to understand each name of a flower. Now that Freddie noticed Roger's figure he walked at him.
"What happened?" He asked.
"She literally brought that asshole to my door." Roger was shaken.
"Wow, did she? What about Laura?"
"I'll drive her at Y/N's." He seemed thoughtful and Fred noticed it.
"What are you thinking?" He asked. "Oh dear, don't tell me you're thinking of-" Fred couldn't believe Roger would invade that way.
"Why not? She just gave me a reason to do it. She still loves me and I know it. Her words mean nothing to me." He looked at his friend, searching for any advice.
"Make sure she'll accept it, or if she resists and tries to stop you, fucking stop, apologise and leave." He had a point. Fred knows about how you two met and how it ended.
Later
"I want to stay a little more daddy..." Laura whined as Roger helped her tie her shoes.
"So do I, but your mommy wants you to go home." He looked her into her same coloured eyes.
"This is my home too, isn't it?" She was sad.
"Of course it is, baby. But you have to grow up a little to decide in whose place you want to stay." Roger explained.
"I love my mum but I want to be with you, we don't spend much time together and I feel sad about it." She leaned towards his shoulder, hugging him tightly. The same thing happens every Sunday night. Roger was emotional after what his girl just said.
"I know but we do call each other every day, I'm not that far." He tried to comfort her as they got in his car.
"You are daddy, you're not with mum. I mean, I'm happy she found R/N but I prefer my family. In one house." Her voice lowered a bit. Roger didn't answer regardless of how much he wanted to.
"Here we are baby." Roger broke the silence after the drive. He carried the bags for her and they took the lift to reach your flat, on the third floor. "Do you know if R/N is at your home now?" He asked his daughter.
"I didn't saw his car, I don't know..." she negatively shook her head.
"It's okay." He smiled at her and here he was. In front of your door. Scared.
"Mum! I'm home!" Laura knocked on the door and Roger heard your footsteps and your laugh. He melted at the sound of it.
"Welcome home baby! Give me a hug!" You opened your arms to hold her tight. "I missed you." You looked at her being safe and sound.
Roger was constantly looking inside the living room and the kitchen, searching for the other man's figure. Until Laura spoke.
"Mum, is R/N here?" She asked.
"No, he left earlier, but he got you a present!" you smiled at her but she didn't look excited about. "What's wrong?" You asked her.
"Can daddy come inside? Please, mommy?" She begged you to bring your ex-husband in the house. You and Roger looked at each other with your blood freezing. That was fully unexpected.
"Honey, he is busy tonight... He is making music with uncle Fred, Deaky and Bri." You tried to kick him out of your house with the kindest way possible.
"Please mum, as a family..." she was sad when she said the word family. Poor her, she's only eight and has to go through this. You put your ego aside and listened to your daughter's wish.
"Baby, you don't have to press your mum if she doesn't want me inside." No, you do want him inside the house or in you.
"No, it's okay, you can come in..." you stood up again and made way for Roger to come in. He gave you a sweet kiss on your cheek before closing the door and leaving his jacket next to it.
"Yey!" Laura shouted fully excited.
"But baby, you have to get to sleep in a little. You have school tomorrow!" You walked with her at the bathroom trying to help her with her night routine.
"I know mum, but I will sleep happily tonight knowing you and dad will keep me company." She smiled at you. She's so happy.
"I'm happy you feel this way." You kissed her cheek.
Meanwhile, Roger was in the kitchen fixing drinks for the two of you. He was silent, supervising the room. There was nothing related to him. Or at least he thought. He was sitting at the balcony now, enjoying the view. West London looks so good by night. He was waiting for you.
"Goodnight baby I love you." You said to Laura before closing her room's door. You passed the kitchen, searching for Roger's figure but not any luck. You felt a warm breeze coming from the living room and you saw him outside the balcony.
"Oh, there you are." He smiled, offering your drink.
"Oh, thanks, guess I need it." You nodded as you were staring at the glass.
"I fixed us some drinks just for a chilling situation. How come needing a drink? I mean, you barely touched them." You both sat at the bamboo chairs your balcony has. Roger was into a conversation with you. And so did you, you really wanted to exchange dialogue. You felt so lonely.
"I don't really think you're the ideal person to talk to right now but I'll settle." You raised your shoulders as your eyes focused at the city's lights.
"I'm all ears, are you okay?" He asked after drinking.
"I bet you're wondering why R/N is not here right?" You turned your body at his side, now facing each other. Just a table beside you.
"To be honest, I am. Is this why you're not okay?" He was confused. But also curious to find out.
"Not that it's your business but I don't let him stay here. Not when Laura is here." You started.
"So? That's what you have to do. Neither do I bring women at my house when she's around." He kind of interrupted you, but you weren't in the mood.
"Not this time Roger, please. If you want to argue with me, just leave." You slightly closed your eyes, showing how tired you felt.
"Okay, I'm sorry. Did R/N do anything? Shall I intervene?" He asked as his hand tried to reach yours.
"No. He was so furious after visiting your place. I guess it's my fault. He felt I was taking advantage of him all this time so you'd be jealous b-but I date him a long time without you knowing." You briefly explained the issue.
"So what happened?" Roger asked looking thoughtful.
"He insisted on staying at my place tonight but I obviously refused. I've explained to him that I can't present him to Laura yet. Not until that diner." You exclaimed.
"So he kinda left forever?"
"No, I reckon it was a disagreement and he'll call tomorrow. But I think he insisted on staying here so you wouldn't appear tonight." You figured out why you guys fought before Roger came at your place with your child.
"Whether I'm here or not, he has to respect your decision. Probably he's jealous." He giggled at the last sentence as he finished his drink. His fingers tried to reach yours, trying to play with them or caress them.
"Jealous of what?" You questioned in confusion. "I'm a divorced mother." The title got you into your feelings. You never wanted to be divorced. Let alone with a child.
"Whose husband tries to reach her." He smiled and oh god, you had to be looking him that moment.
"Why? We ended it in bad terms. We even fight after ending it." You stated.
"I don't care. I can't stay away from you and Laura." His hand covered yours. Your eyes were focusing on his action.
Feeling this kind of pressure, you walked inside trying to calm down. Your heart was pounding fast. You went inside your bathroom, covering your face with some cold water. "Stop overthinking about it Y/N... Relax. He's your man. You love him, he's not a stranger, right?" You whispered to yourself as you tried to catch a breath.
Meanwhile, Roger went into your bedroom, checking out the place if there's anything that belongs to him. Kinda. At your nightstand, there was a frame of him, you and Laura. The day she was born. Roger seemed to be emotional at the sight of the family photo. At the parlour, there was a photo album, recently touched and seen. Photos of him and you when you were dating awakens his huge desire to make love to you. "There's still hope in this mess." He whispered to himself and rushed to the bathroom waiting for you to come out.
You came out looking fresh and calm. There was intense eye contact, a long-lasting one. His hand tried to reach yours but instead, it caught your buttcheeks because you climbed on him with your legs around his waist and your lips against his.
"I fucking missed you." You moaned between your passionate kiss.
"So did I." He said back and walked through your bedroom and gently closed the door with his feet. "I want to make love to you so bad. Please let me." He begged when he gently placed you on bed's pillows.
"Make me love." Your voice was smooth and passionate. You were ready to feel him again, you were craving for it.
