Have Miko ever lost her squishy?
She's hyperaware of her favorite toy. The closest she comes to losing it is whenever it needs to be washed since Miko drags that thing everywhere.
The mechs had learned the hard way to completely buckle her in with a swarm of seatbeats to limit her mobility. Otherwise, she'll be jumping up and down, clawing up their interiors as she explores every inch to escape to fetch her squishmallow.
Arcee had witnessed the impressive sight of Miko rattling inside Bulkhead so hard that the armored vehicle was bouncing on his wheels.
(The only mech she doesn't attempt to claw up is Optimus. Not only does he have extensive room for her to pace and wander, but he has no issue with shaking her by the scruffbar with his seatbelts like a naughty kitten with resounding firm 'no' with his own field. Not enough to completely overwhelm her, but to make a point that she can't carve his sensitive components.)
If the Autobots had an industrial sized washer and dryer at their base, Miko would have planted herself right at the windows to watch it. Only leaving to grab the closest 'bot, climbing all over their frames and insistently tugging EM fields to change the washer to dryer and dryer to Miko's little servos.
And if the Autobots had laundry facilities, they would need to sparkling proof it with so many locks and perimeter sensors. Miko would try to tumble inside a washer cycle, and Raf would try to snack on the machines' exposed cables and the detergent.

Just saw the cigarette coat issue... there are a few things that *might* help.
1) pre-soaking in water n baking soda
2) adding vinegar to the "softener" step when you put it in the wash
3) using an enzyme based detergent (like the one for stinky workout clothes)
Depending on how embedded the smoke is in the fibers, it still might take a few washes. I would also recommend air drying outside if possible.
I don't smoke but I have had to wear a ballistic vest over workout shirts before and whatever tf is in those vests fucking REEK when put in contact with sweat and a combination of all 4 of the above tricks is the ONLY thing that got my shirts smelling clean
!!!!! thankyou anon!!! ive done the vinegar one quite a bit w my laundry cuz uh. i tend to forget my clothes in the wash and they get a musty smell after a day or two. like so often we have an industrial sized thing a vinegar in the laundry room sbskdhdjd. ill do that next maybe tonight n try some the other stuff if it dont help

How Accurate is Fabric Shrinkage Testing? Understanding Measurement Precision?
When it comes to the textile industry, ensuring the quality and performance of fabric is paramount. One key area that directly impacts the quality of fabric is its shrinkage after washing. As shrinkage can alter the fit, comfort, and usability of garments, it's critical for manufacturers to understand how much shrinkage will occur under typical washing conditions. This is where fabric shrinkage tests play an essential role. However, the question arises: How accurate is fabric shrinkage testing, and what is the level of measurement precision involved?
In this blog, we will explore the accuracy of fabric shrinkage test, the factors that affect measurement precision, and how manufacturers can ensure that they achieve reliable results to meet customer expectations.
What is Fabric Shrinkage Testing?
Fabric shrinkage testing involves subjecting a fabric sample to controlled washing and drying conditions to measure the change in its size. Shrinkage is a natural occurrence in many textiles, particularly those made from natural fibers like cotton and wool. This shrinkage occurs when the fabric absorbs water, causing the fibers to contract during the washing and drying process.
To determine how much a fabric will shrink, manufacturers use standardized testing methods. These tests help predict the extent of shrinkage that will happen during real-life use, allowing manufacturers to adjust the fabric’s properties or design the garments to account for shrinkage, ensuring the final product fits well after multiple washes.
Common fabric shrinkage tests are performed in accordance with international standards, such as ISO 6330, ASTM D5053, and BS EN 6330. These tests simulate everyday laundry conditions (temperature, agitation, drying cycles) to accurately reflect the changes the fabric will undergo.
Factors That Impact the Accuracy of Fabric Shrinkage Tests
While fabric shrinkage tests are essential for predicting fabric performance, several factors influence the accuracy and reliability of these tests. Let’s explore the key factors that affect the measurement precision:
1. Fabric Composition and Type
The type of fabric being tested plays a crucial role in the accuracy of shrinkage measurement. Natural fibers like cotton, wool, and linen tend to shrink more significantly than synthetic fibers like polyester or nylon. The inherent structure and properties of the fibers can impact how much the fabric will shrink after washing. For instance, cotton fabrics are known for experiencing significant shrinkage due to the relaxation of fibers during the washing process.
Different fabric blends (e.g., cotton-polyester) may also show varying shrinkage levels, which can complicate testing. It's essential to consider the fabric composition when interpreting shrinkage results, as fabrics with different properties may respond differently to the same testing conditions.
2. Washing and Drying Conditions
The washing and drying process is one of the most influential factors in determining fabric shrinkage. The temperature of the water, the detergent used, the agitation level during washing, and the drying method (air-dried, tumble-dried, etc.) can all affect how much the fabric shrinks. Higher temperatures typically lead to greater shrinkage, particularly in natural fibers. Therefore, accurate testing requires replicating these conditions as closely as possible to ensure the results are representative of real-world scenarios.
Inconsistent washing and drying conditions can lead to inaccurate test results. To improve the reliability of shrinkage testing, manufacturers should use standardized equipment and wash cycles that mimic the most common consumer laundry practices.
3. Fabric Construction and Weight
The weave, knit, and weight of the fabric can also impact shrinkage results. Heavier fabrics or those with a denser weave may shrink differently than lightweight fabrics or those with a looser weave. The thickness of the fabric can cause it to absorb water at different rates, affecting the overall shrinkage.
Additionally, the presence of finishes or treatments on fabrics (such as wrinkle resistance, water repellency, or flame retardancy) may alter the behavior of the fabric during the shrinkage test. Fabrics treated with chemical finishes may experience reduced or different shrinkage compared to untreated fabrics.
4. Sample Size and Preparation
The sample size used in shrinkage tests can affect the accuracy of results. For reliable results, the test sample should represent the final product or garment as closely as possible. Small sample sizes may not give an accurate representation of how the fabric will perform in a full garment, leading to discrepancies in the shrinkage measurements.
Additionally, the preparation of the sample plays an important role. If the fabric is not pre-treated, pre-washed, or prepared according to the standards set by the test method, the results may be skewed. Proper sample preparation ensures that the fabric is tested under the same conditions that a consumer would experience.
5. Test Methodology and Equipment
The testing equipment and methodology used in fabric shrinkage testing play a critical role in determining the precision of results. Different testing standards (ISO, ASTM, BS EN) outline specific procedures for testing shrinkage, including the exact parameters of washing cycles, drying conditions, and how shrinkage is measured. Variations in the implementation of these standards can lead to different results.
Precision in the equipment used to measure shrinkage is also crucial. Modern testing labs use advanced measurement tools to calculate the exact percentage of shrinkage, which can improve the accuracy of the results. Using outdated or poorly calibrated equipment may lead to unreliable measurements.
How Accurate is Fabric Shrinkage Testing?
In general, fabric shrinkage testing is highly accurate when conducted according to established standards and using the right equipment. The tests are designed to simulate real-world conditions as closely as possible, giving manufacturers a reliable prediction of how much shrinkage will occur. However, it’s important to understand that no test can predict the shrinkage of every fabric in every situation.
Shrinkage testing offers an acceptable margin of error, with results typically accurate to within a few percentage points. The standard deviations in measurements allow for the natural variations that occur due to factors like fabric composition, wash conditions, and sample preparation. However, these variations are minimal enough that manufacturers can rely on the results to design garments that meet consumer expectations.
To enhance the accuracy of shrinkage tests, many manufacturers run multiple tests on different fabric samples to ensure consistency and reliability. By averaging the results from these tests, they can obtain a more accurate estimate of the fabric’s shrinkage behavior.
Importance of Accurate Fabric Shrinkage Testing
Accurate fabric shrinkage testing is critical for several reasons:
Quality Control: Ensuring that garments maintain their size and fit after washing is essential for quality control. Consumers expect products that deliver consistent performance, and shrinkage testing helps ensure that garments meet these expectations.
Consumer Satisfaction: Fabric that shrinks unexpectedly can lead to customer dissatisfaction, returns, and negative reviews. Accurate shrinkage tests help prevent these issues and ensure that customers are happy with their purchase.
Brand Reputation: For brands, maintaining a reputation for high-quality, reliable products is essential for long-term success. Accurate shrinkage testing is a key part of meeting these standards and preserving customer trust.
Cost Savings: Inaccurate shrinkage testing can lead to costly mistakes, such as product returns, redesigns, or re-manufacturing. By ensuring precise shrinkage measurements, manufacturers can avoid these unnecessary costs.
Conclusion
Fabric shrinkage tests are an essential tool for ensuring the quality, fit, and durability of textile products. The accuracy of these tests is influenced by several factors, including fabric composition, washing conditions, and equipment used. While there is always some level of natural variation in shrinkage, manufacturers can achieve reliable and precise results by following established testing standards and using proper sample preparation and testing equipment.
For textile manufacturers, investing in accurate fabric shrinkage testing is critical for ensuring product consistency, consumer satisfaction, and brand reputation. By understanding the precision involved in shrinkage testing, manufacturers can better control fabric behavior and deliver garments that meet consumers' expectations for fit, comfort, and durability.

In addition to offering self-service machines, many wash houses also provide full-service options, where employees will wash, dry, fold, and sometimes even iron your laundry for you.
Wash houses are perfect for those who don’t have access to their own laundry facilities, need to clean large items, or simply don’t have the time or inclination to do laundry at home. They offer a convenient, cost-effective way to ensure your clothes and linens stay fresh and clean without the hassle of at-home washing.
Why You’d Need or Want a Wash House Near Me
1. Convenience and Accessibility
One of the biggest reasons people choose a wash house near me is the sheer convenience it offers. If your apartment or home doesn’t have a washer and dryer, or if your appliances are in need of repair, a laundromat becomes the go-to solution. A nearby wash house means you don’t have to worry about traveling long distances or going out of your way to get your laundry done. It fits into your daily routine seamlessly, especially for those with busy schedules.
Additionally, wash houses are often open 24/7 or during extended hours, which means you can do your laundry at a time that suits you best, even if you have unconventional working hours or prefer to do laundry late at night.
2. Large Item Cleaning
Home washers and dryers are great for everyday clothes, but when it comes to cleaning large or bulky items like comforters, blankets, sleeping bags, or large towels, they may not be up to the task. Many residential machines are too small or not powerful enough to clean oversized items thoroughly. A wash house near me typically features industrial-sized washers and dryers, which can accommodate larger loads, giving you a more effective clean for big items.
Using a wash house to clean these items not only saves you the headache of trying to squeeze them into a smaller machine but also helps preserve the integrity of the fabric. Larger machines are gentler on heavy fabrics and help prevent stretching, bunching, or damage.
3. Save Time and Effort
Doing laundry at home can be time-consuming. Between sorting clothes, washing, drying, folding, and ironing, it can easily become an all-day task. At a wash house near me, you can save time and effort by taking advantage of the more efficient, high-capacity machines. These washers and dryers clean clothes faster and in larger quantities, which means you can complete your laundry in a fraction of the time.
For those who need their clothes cleaned quickly, many wash houses offer drop-off services where staff members will wash and fold your laundry for you. This can be especially beneficial if you’re in a rush or simply don’t have the time to do it yourself.
4. Cost-Effective Option
Using a wash house is often more affordable than investing in a washing machine and dryer, especially if you don’t need to do laundry frequently. The upfront cost of purchasing and maintaining your own laundry appliances, not to mention water, electricity, and detergent, can add up quickly. For those who live in smaller spaces or rent homes, paying for a wash house service may be far more cost-effective.
Wash houses also allow you to pay only for the amount of laundry you need to clean, which helps keep expenses low. Whether you need to do a small load or multiple large loads, you’ll pay based on the service you use, making it easier to control your spending.
5. Specialized Services and Extras
Many wash houses offer specialized services that can make your laundry experience even easier. For instance, some locations provide dry cleaning, which is essential for delicate fabrics or garments that require special care. Some even offer ironing services for those who want their clothes returned wrinkle-free and ready to wear.
If you’re looking for a deeper clean, certain wash houses also provide eco-friendly cleaning options that use less detergent and conserve water. These services appeal to those who want to minimize their environmental impact while still getting a thorough wash.
Additionally, some wash houses have amenities such as free Wi-Fi, vending machines, comfortable seating, and even television to make your time spent there more enjoyable. Whether you choose to relax or work while waiting for your laundry, these added comforts can turn a mundane task into a more pleasant experience.
6. Better Results and Professional Equipment
When it comes to doing laundry, the results matter. A wash house near me typically uses high-quality, industrial-grade washers and dryers that are designed to clean more efficiently and effectively than household machines. These machines are built to handle large volumes of laundry, ensuring a thorough clean and often quicker drying times.
In addition, professional-grade detergent and fabric softener are available at many wash houses, providing an extra boost to the cleanliness and freshness of your clothes. These detergents are often more concentrated and effective than consumer-grade products, meaning your laundry will not only be cleaner but also smell better.
7. Helps with Tight Living Spaces
For individuals living in apartments, dorms, or small homes without in-unit laundry, a wash house is an excellent solution to avoid the hassle of traveling to a laundromat far from home. The convenience of a nearby wash house makes it easier to get your laundry done without taking up valuable space in your living area. By having access to washers and dryers just a short walk or drive away, you can enjoy a clutter-free living environment.
8. Social Benefits
Visiting a wash house near me can also provide social opportunities. Many people enjoy the opportunity to meet new people and strike up conversations while waiting for their laundry. Whether it’s talking with fellow customers or the friendly staff, a laundromat is often a community hub where connections can be made. It’s a chance to be around others, making the task of doing laundry feel less like a chore and more like a social outing.
How a Wash House Near Me Works
Typically, when you visit a wash house near me, you’ll find self-service washers and dryers, where you pay to use the machines. You may need to bring your own detergent, although many laundromats sell detergent, fabric softeners, and other laundry supplies on-site.
In addition to self-service options, many wash houses offer full-service washing and folding for customers who want to skip the process altogether. This means you simply drop off your laundry, and the staff will wash, dry, and fold it for you, often with a same-day turnaround.
You’ll usually find a payment kiosk or a staff member who can assist you in paying for your laundry service, which is often priced by the load or by the machine used. Some wash houses even accept credit or debit cards, mobile payments, or coins, giving you various options to pay for the service.
Conclusion: The Convenience and Greatness of a Wash House Near Me
A wash house near me is a fantastic resource that offers both convenience and efficiency. Whether you're looking for a place to clean large items, save time, or take advantage of specialized services, a nearby laundromat is the ideal solution. It’s a cost-effective and practical way to stay on top of your laundry without the hassle of doing it at home.
With their quick, high-capacity machines, affordable pricing, and added services, wash houses are an essential part of modern life, especially for those who don’t have in-unit laundry or prefer the ease of having their laundry done by professionals. If you're looking to simplify your laundry routine and get your clothes cleaned efficiently, a wash house near me is the perfect place to start.

Sustainable Laundry Practices for a Greener Future — Fabrico

Why Sustainable Laundry Matters
Traditional laundry methods consume massive amounts of water and electricity while relying on harsh chemical detergents that pollute the environment. By switching to sustainable laundry solutions, individuals and businesses can significantly reduce their carbon footprint, save money, and protect water resources.
Best Sustainable Laundry Practices
1. Use Energy-Efficient Washing Machines
Investing in high-efficiency washing machines can reduce water and energy consumption by up to 50% compared to traditional models. Look for ENERGY STAR-certified appliances that use advanced sensor technology to optimize water levels and detergent use.
2. Wash Clothes in Cold Water
Heating water accounts for nearly 90% of the energy used in a washing machine. Switching to cold water washes saves energy, extends the lifespan of fabrics, and prevents color fading. Modern detergents are specifically formulated to work efficiently in cold water, ensuring deep cleaning without excessive heat.
3. Choose Eco-Friendly Detergents
Conventional laundry detergents contain phosphates, sulfates, and artificial fragrances that harm aquatic life and contaminate water bodies. Instead, opt for biodegradable, plant-based detergents free from toxic chemicals. These alternatives effectively remove stains while being gentle on fabrics and the environment.
4. Reduce Water Usage
To minimize water waste:
Use the correct load size settings on your washing machine.
Wash full loads to maximize efficiency.
Consider greywater recycling systems to reuse lightly used water for non-drinking purposes.
5. Skip the Dryer — Air Dry Clothes
Dryers consume a significant amount of electricity and contribute to greenhouse gas emissions. Whenever possible, opt for air drying clothes on a clothesline or drying rack. This method preserves fabric integrity, reduces wrinkles, and eliminates static cling naturally.
6. Use Wool Dryer Balls Instead of Dryer Sheets
If using a dryer is necessary, replace synthetic dryer sheets with wool dryer balls. These balls speed up drying time, soften fabrics, and reduce static without releasing harmful chemicals.
7. Adopt Low-Waste Laundry Practices
Minimizing waste in your laundry routine involves:
Using concentrated detergents or detergent sheets to reduce plastic packaging.
Refilling detergent bottles at zero-waste stores.
Opting for natural stain removers like vinegar, baking soda, and lemon juice instead of chemical-based solutions.
8. Maintain and Clean Your Washing Machine
A well-maintained washing machine operates efficiently and lasts longer. Regularly clean the lint filter, detergent drawer, and drum to prevent mold buildup and maintain performance. Running an empty wash cycle with white vinegar once a month helps remove mineral deposits and odors.
9. Wear Clothes More Than Once
Not all garments need to be washed after a single wear. Jeans, sweaters, and jackets can be worn multiple times before laundering. This habit reduces washing frequency, conserves resources, and extends clothing lifespan.
10. Support Sustainable Laundry Services
Many laundry service providers, including Fabrico, are adopting eco-friendly cleaning methods such as:
Wet cleaning, which uses water-based solvents instead of toxic chemicals.
Ozone laundry systems, which sanitize clothes using ozone gas, reducing water and detergent usage.
High-efficiency industrial washers, which optimize water and energy consumption.
Fabrico’s Commitment to Sustainable Laundry
At Fabrico, we prioritize eco-conscious laundry solutions that ensure superior cleaning while reducing environmental impact. Our approach includes:
Using biodegradable detergents that are free from harmful chemicals.
Implementing water-saving technologies in our laundromats.
Encouraging customers to opt for reusable laundry bags instead of plastic.
By choosing Fabrico’s sustainable laundry services, individuals and businesses can actively participate in reducing waste and conserving natural resources.
Conclusion
Adopting sustainable laundry practices is a small yet powerful step towards a greener future. Simple changes like washing in cold water, using eco-friendly detergents, and air drying clothes can significantly reduce environmental impact. With Fabrico leading the way in green laundry solutions, embracing these practices has never been easier.

Circular Economy in Fashion: Consumer Awareness and Lifestyle, and Environmental Impact on Second-Hand Clothes
Circular economy in fashion: consumer awareness and lifestyle, and environmental impact on second-hand clothes
Objectives
Evaluate the reuse initiatives by Japanese fashion companies through take-back programs.
Assess consumer attitudes toward second-hand clothing and sustainable fashion practices.
Measure the environmental impact of clothing reuse, focusing on CO2 emissions generated by maintenance habits.
Key Findings
1. Current Industry Practices
Take-Back Programs:
Large brands like UNIQLO, MUJI, and H&M offer take-back initiatives, often limited to their own products.
Small companies focus on personalized upcycling (e.g., redyeing) but face scalability challenges.
Many companies use take-back programs more as a marketing tool than an operational recycling strategy.
Transparency Issues:
Limited data on how collected garments are reused or recycled.
Larger brands emphasize sustainability in public relations but provide minimal actionable information to engage consumers.
2. Consumer Awareness and Attitudes
Survey Highlights:
A questionnaire involving 335 Tokyo residents showed low prioritization of sustainable practices.
83% of respondents do not care about recycled textiles when purchasing clothes.
Financial benefits and unique styling were the main motivators for buying second-hand clothes.
Barriers to Second-Hand Purchases:
Reluctance to wear previously owned garments.
Difficulty assessing the quality and size of second-hand items.
Lack of essential product information, such as price tags and manufacturing details.
3. Environmental Impact Assessment
Comparison of Linear vs. Circular Economies:
In a linear economy, a single shirt generates 9.23 kg-CO2 across its lifecycle.
In a circular economy, reusing a shirt reduces emissions to 6.71 kg-CO2, saving 2.52 kg-CO2.
Impact of Laundry Habits:
Scenarios analyzed show that frequent tumble dryer use significantly increases CO2 emissions.
Eco-conscious consumers tend to adopt better practices, like air drying and using eco-friendly detergents, but their emissions still vary based on habits like ironing and laundry frequency.
Contributions and Recommendations
For Businesses:
Increase Transparency:
Publish detailed reports on take-back programs and recycling outcomes.
Educate consumers on the environmental impact of their purchases.
Innovate Practices:
Develop scalable upcycling techniques to broaden adoption beyond niche markets.
Incentivize sustainable behaviors, such as discounts for take-back participation.
For Consumers:
Encourage Awareness:
Promote education about the benefits of circular fashion and low-impact laundry habits.
Highlight the link between personal consumption patterns and environmental impacts.
For Policymakers:
Implement Regulations:
Establish standards for textile recycling and mandates for sustainable practices in fashion supply chains.
Offer subsidies or tax incentives for companies adopting circular economy models.
