❝ HISTORY.
paskal knew there was something wrong the day she woke up, a teensy little three year old, to a strange man sitting in her room. she screamed for her parents, and when they arrived, they didn't understand. the man was still there, but they didn't see anything. they simply reassured her that she was probably having a nightmare, and to not worry so much about it. she was safe, they'd know if there was someone in her room. right. right, of course. foolish. paskal told the man to leave, and he did. disappeared into thin air like he never existed.
from that day on, she would constantly see people that no one else noticed. she could talk to them, understand them no matter the language they were speaking, but she couldn't figure out what they were or what was happening. she couldn't prove they existed to her parents, so she was at a loss.
but her parents completely knew what was going on. though they couldn't see what she saw, they knew it was because of her force sensitivity, a quirk that would start to get worse. their family had lived on ord radama for generations. it held a rich sith history, dating back millennia, but they didn't want to raise any suspicions or cause any trouble. things were far too tumultuous in the galaxy, and they needed to protect paskal. so they said nothing, and paskal's mind went wild with theories.
she started doing research on everything she could to try and understand and cope with what was happening to her. she saw dead people, all the time. her research rabbit holes took her into the world of cryptids, spirits, ghosts, monsters, and unsolved mysteries.
just, y'know. not the force.
she knew stories of the jedi and sith, sure, but never put it together that any of it had to do with her. she started her research through her own family, dating back as far as she could find in order to get some sort of information that might explain why she was this way.
and what she found... horrified her.
a treasure hunt through the caverns on ord radama led her into a space that she had no clue would give people visions. it wouldn’t hurt her, right? kids would dare each other to go in! they’d see some spooky thing and run out giggling, so that was sure to happen with paskal, right?
well, it’s hard to say what she really saw. if you asked paskal what happened, they wouldn’t be able to tell you. all they could say when they emerged was... ❝ they lied. ❞
so, paskal left their family behind. she started out on a quest to understand herself and the galaxy, solve some mysteries along the way, and hopefully figure out why she was this way. that vision didn’t do much of anything to help, only hurt. they needed more answers. they needed the truth.
she travels with her weird friend hal, who entertains her hyperfixations. they met in a bar and she told him about what she did for a living. hal straight up confessed he was force sensitive, but she refused to believe such a thing could be true. he was clearly just messing with her.
❝ ARRIVAL ON BATUU.
paskal and hal have arrived on batuu because of all the rumors about the insanity, the jedi rising again, and a story paskal caught wind of -- that people were coming back to life. and for the ghost girl, that was a huge alarm going off. they had to come check it out.
❝ PRESENT.
they’ve just arrived and are now checking the planet out!
❝ HEADCANONS.
there is a difference between force ghosts and the spirits that paskal can see and interact with. a force ghost is the spirit of a force sensitive that can interact with the living. the spirits that paskal can see and talk to are everyone in between- force sensitive or otherwise, and they cannot interact with the living unless they had a quirk like paskal. it’s a little frustrating! since there are so few that have the same quirk, that means paskal has to listen to a lot of people that find her and want to get their message out there. but paskal cares too much, so they always listen and try their best to help.
paskal is definitely far too anxious of a person to do what they do. they’re obsessed with true crime and the supernatural, but they’re terrified of what they’ll find. maybe they’re just a little paranoid, a little jumpy, sure. or maybe they have a bad feeling that what they find will reveal too much about themselves, and it will be too much to bear. they’ve been burned before by family secrets.
so yes, paskal is a paranormal investigator, but they also work as a detective solving as many unsolved cases as they possibly can. it helps when they can get first hand accounts from the deceased! they also make money on the side as a sort of lowkey, under the table transport. don’t ask questions and they can drop you off somewhere. it’s pretty easy money and they’re traveling all the time anyway, so it’s no big deal.
❝ TIMELINE OF IMPORTANT EVENTS.
9 ABY / AGE 0 : birth on ord radama
12 ABY / AGE 3 : sees her first spirit
30 ABY / AGE 21 : leaves home, meets hal, starts traveling the galaxy with him
35 ABY / AGE 26 : present

I have some suggestions, but the notes weren’t open, so... reblogging instead:
Change it to Shady Seller, purely for the alliteration. Besides, he apparently does do other export/import as his cover-up.
The kidnapping “arc” really is still about a drug mafia in Italy that wants to expand in England.
Ripper. He can’t escape the accusations until he finds the real culprit, but yeah... he can’t get past Undertaker. But then he ends up figuring out the truth with Ran-Mao’s help (she hangs out around White Chapel, watching over the prostitutes, I guess? And maybe other informants give him good leads, too?). He shows up to confront the perps and 1. He pretends like he didn’t know how he ended up in the right place at the right time and 2. Doesn’t care if Grelle kills Madam Red. In fact he might kill her himself... or have Ran-Mao do it.
Curry. I... I can’t think how to improve upon your version of the Curry arc. It made me LOL for real!
Circus. He never even finds the children. It remains an unsolved mystery. But he kills the main circus members before he realizes they weren’t smuggling drugs, so the kidnappings stop anyway.
Murders. Best thing about the Murders arc for Lau is that Mr. Phelps dies, so let’s say it’s specifically a beef between Lau and Blue Star Line. Maybe he also suspects the diamond merchant is secretly also direct competition, so that dinner party was GREAT for him.
Campania. Yeah, this looks about right.
Weston. That looks about right, too.
Green Witch. Ran-Mao kills all of the German troops in pursuit.
Blue Sect. Lau finds out “Ciel” Phantomhive is in trouble and decides to help, for a price to be named later....
Shady Opium Dealer
Kuro au where Lau is the main character. It wouldn’t be called Black Butler- it’d be Shady Opium Dealer. And the arc equivalents would be as followed:
Kidnapping: Lau pisses off the wrong person. Ranmao goes on a killing spree to get him back.
Jack the Ripper: Lau desperately tries to locate a serial killer so the Yard will stop accusing him of doing it. But he never gets past Undertaker because UT hates all his jokes. So Lau just frames a random person and turns him in.
Curry: Lau and co. get into an Asian cuisine fight with Soma and Agni. Sebastian still wins.
Circus: Lau suspects a rival dealer of sneaking opium via Noah’s Ark. He and Ranmao infiltrate as Chinese acrobats (they are impressed by Ranmao, not so much by Lau). He does find something, but no opium. “Aw, we were mislead Ranmao. There’s nothing here but children- I’m so disappointed.”
Murder: Lau fakes his death to throw his rivals off. When their guards are down, Ranmao takes them out. Meanwhile, they have a dinner party to go to.
Campania: Lau suspects a rival trader of sneaking goods on a cruise liner. He and Ranmao go aboard. “Aw, we were mislead Ranmao. There’s nothing here but zombies- I’m so disappointed.”
Weston: Lau suspects a rival dealer of selling students opium. That just isn’t right. Lau and his posse of women repeatedly try to sneak into Weston, distracting everyone on campus.
Green Witch: Lau and Ranmao try to make fancy shoes for a German girl with bound feet (Sullivan *cough*). She says she’d like to see China. So Lau just grabs her and leaves. The whole military follows. “Ranmao, why are all those people behind us? Ah, must not be important haha”

The Chilling Tale of Emilie Sagée
In some cultures seeing your doppelgänger means death could be lurking around the corner. But what if you were the only one who couldn’t see your doppelgänger?
This was the case of Emilie Sagée. This wildly disputed story centers around a 32-year-old French school teacher. The last of many schools Emilie worked in was Pensionat von Neuwelcke, an all-girls school, in Latvia in 1845. It was there that she became recognized as a well-liked and talented educator. Despite how much the students liked her, her reputation quickly turned grim when it was reported by students that she would randomly produce a twin that eerily mimicked her every action. This twin would materialize suddenly, causing Emilie to become sluggish in whatever she was doing. It was as if the appearance of her double drained her energy. This twin would mirror the real Emilie by engaging in whatever her counterpart was doing at the time. At one point she appeared next to Emilie while she was writing on the chalkboard. The apparition “wrote” on the chalkboard as well, but without any chalk. The entire classroom saw this event take place. When asked, Emilie did not indicate that she knew when her twin would appear. In fact, she had never even seen her before.
One somewhat terrifying story came later in her life while she taught at the same school. She was out in the garden picking flowers. She was aware that a classroom full of students was left on its own while the teacher was talking to someone else. She thought that she should go in and check on them. Emilie walked into the classroom and took a seat in front of the students. The students didn’t pay any attention to her at first. That was until one of them pointed out Ms. Sagée in the garden picking flowers. The figure in front of them was not Emilie. It looked like a real person sitting before them. One of the brave students walked up to her with the intent of touching her. Her hand fell right through Emilie’s double. It frightened her but she later said it felt like putting her hand through a bunch of cobwebs.
Sadly for the real Emilie, she was fired from her job as there were far too many instances of ghostly appearances from another Emilie such as this.
The story of Emilie Sagée comes from a book titled “Footfalls on the Boundary of Another World” written by Robert Dale Owen, an American social reformer and spiritualist. His source was a former student of Emilie’s.
As I have been researching this paranormal case it has become increasingly clear that Ms. Sagée may have never existed. There is no record of anyone with her name from the area of the world that she was from. While this means she may have changed her name at some point I do not think that eliminates the possibility of her nonexistence. There are no other accounts of any of the stories told about her. With stories from history like this, I think it is up to the reader to decide if they want to believe in it or not. Life is too short not to believe mysteries.
