Lesbian influencers call of wedding after cheating scandal
Popular lesbian influencers Anjali Chakra and Sufi Malik have announced their split just weeks before their planned wedding.
In coordinated Instagram posts on Monday, Anjali and Sufi told fans that they had made the decision to split after Sufi cheated.
“I made an unrecognisable mistake of betrayal by cheating on her a few weeks before our wedding,” Sufi wrote.
“I’ve hurt her tremendously, beyond my own understanding. I’m owning up to my mistake and will continue to do so. I understand the gravity of the situation and can only ask relentlessly for forgiveness, from Anjali and Allah.”

In her own post, Anjali also acknowledged the infidelity.
“What we have shared has been so full of love and nothing short of magical — I will choose to remember it this way.”
“Since the beginning, your outpouring of love and support has played such a special part in our journey and we will continue to carry that love with us moving forward.
“This may come as a shock but our journey is now shifting. We have decided to call off our wedding and end our relationship due to infidelity committed by Sufi.”
However, she also write that she wishes for “absolutely no negativity to be shown towards Sufi,” and for her followers to “respect this difficult decision.”

Who are Sufi Malik and Anjali Chakra?
The couple first gained a following back in 2019, after a photoshoot for a South Asian designer went viral.
A tweet that photographer Sarowar shared of the shoot received over 42,000 likes, with people celebrating the photos’ depiction of a queer, South Asian, interfaith love story — Sufi is Muslim and Pakistani, and Anjali is Hindu and Indian.

The couple went viral again in the same year after sharing their one-year anniversary photo shoot.
“When we first started dating I used to let go of Sufi’s hand a few blocks before my office when she walked me to work because I was scared people would find out I was queer,” Anjali wrote.
“Fast forward a year and we spent our anniversary at my cousin’s wedding, where she met 50 members of my extended family who loved her!
“Here’s to many more years of growing in our love, together.”

Nana's House Installation, London College of Fashion - Community Co-Curator
Nana's House is an interactive living room installation, as part of Designed for Life which coincided with the opening of the new campus in Stratford, East London, UK.
The living room reflects and represents a broad heterogeneity of lives and experiences in East London told through a fictional family gathered on a Sunday afternoon at Nana's house, using artefacts and QR-linked soundscapes to represent each family member.
"Nana's one of a kind, and so is her house. It's Sunday afternoon, and her Leytonstone Victorian terrace is at capacity. Mum, dad, uncle and Grandad congregate around the jollof, but I'm more interested in the sweet, spiced tea and homemade samosas that have made a regular appearance here since we took in a lodger - an Indian-Muslim exchange student from Hyderabad.
My grandparents have lived here long before I was born. The walls tell the tale of an exuberant young textile worker arriving in London in 1960, fresh from Ondo State, Nigeria, with an infatuation with the latest in fashion and design. Over the years my mum has tried to add some modern toches; working in finance, she began to share her wealth in the late 80s with a new TV and sofa - much to the apathy of Grandad, who only believes in fixing what is broken.
Grandad was a print worker, a determined trade unionist whose career ended at age 48 with a labour dispute on Wapping High Street in 1987. A "real East Londoner born within earshot of the Bow Bells", he fought the resurgence of fascism around Ridley Road Market with the 62 Group and got bruised, whilst mourning the death of his and nana's first newborn, in battles against Oswold Mosely.
He tells stories of how he fell in love with Nana in 1961 to a soundtrack of Marvin Gaye. They triumphed against melancholy and fell deeper in love. In 1966, they celebrated the World Cup win for England together, of which West Ham players were an integral factor!
Having spent the summer away from my parents, I am inspired by the community and political strength of my grandparents. I collide with my parents' capitalist complicity - working in government and global trade; they mock my uncle who gave himself earnestly and entirely to the rave scene of Lea Valley." Soundbites of the family members: • A phone call to the lodger - shopping in Ilford as a Pakistani woman • Grandson - Teenage Frustrations • Grandad - The History Of An East London Print Worker • Nana - A Nigerian Matriarch • Uncle - Cultural History Of The East London Rave Scene • Mum - Affluence, Influence & Merit • Lodger - Far From Home • Bonus
Nana's House was created by lead curator Dr Leila Nassereldein and co-curated by community members Pallavi Chamarty, Omolara Obanishola, Dave Sohanpal and Anh Tran. Supported by Dr Michael McMillan
Artist's works featured around the living room: • Poppy Frean • Sahira Khan • Mercedes Halliday • Shama Kun • Brahim Bendaoud • Lydia Wood • Asim Khairdean • Toyin Gbomedo • John Curtis Films on the TV: • Looking for You - Anna Nguyen & Kristine Landon Smith • Sonia's Whitechapel - Hend Draz, Maya Leonavicius, Fangjiao Liu, Jake London, Angela Josephine Smith & Claire Wasson with special thanks to Sonia Sylvester • Radical Nostalgias - Mercedes Halliday • To Style a Life for Oneself (trailer) - Omolara Obanishola • Dress For Our Time: In conversation with Helen Storey and Michael Saunby - Helen Storey • Drawing Reality - TIGERs • Tarek’s Story - David Betteridge • Reflections from Za’atar - Helen Storey Special thanks to Sahira, Lord Tusk, Theresa, Tony Sullivan, Lee McKarkiel, Furniture Reuse, The Dovetail, Popup Garden Bookshop and Niquelle LaTouche Oct 2023 - Jan 2024

His Daughter, Lowlife, Looter, Thief, Corrupt and Stupid to her Core Maryam Safdar, is the New Chief Minister of Populous Punjab in result of Stolen Mandate of Imran Khan’s Party PTI. So why is Mr Sharif so glum? The 74-year-old “Lion of Punjab 😂😂😂” has said little publicly since the vote. Bunkered down in his mansion outside Lahore, he is said to be depressed.
He has reason to be. The PML-N’s success is much less than Mr Sharif was promised when he returned home last year. He had spent four years in exile in London because Pakistan’s Generals—Stage Managers of its Democracy—were against him. They rigged an election in 2018 in favour of his main rival, Imran Khan. But then they fell out with Mr Khan and reverted to the lion. A former cricketing god, Mr Khan is Now in Jail on Graft Charges. His Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party has been dismantled. PML-N was therefore expected to sweep the election and Mr Sharif to become prime minister for a fourth time. Instead, something unprecedented happened.
Despite the Army’s Myriad Ploys to prevent Pakistanis voting for Mr Khan, it seems most did so. Standing as independents, candidates linked to his party swept the country. Early counting put them on track for Two-Thirds of Punjab’s seats and an overall majority. At which point the Army Intervened to a degree that might make a Tin-Pot Tyrant Blush.
Army agents were allegedly sent into counting stations with alternative tallies. Salman Akram Raja, a Supreme Court Lawyer running as a De Facto PTI Candidate in Lahore, had been informed that he had won by 95,000 votes. And then—whoops—that he had lost to the PML-N Candidate by 13,500. Mr Sharif’s Party would otherwise have faced oblivion. As it is, it won only 75 of 264 seats. It cobbled together a majority by striking a deal with the Pakistan Peoples Party, which is run by another Fading Dynasty, the Bhuttos.
This might seem like Pakistani business as usual. The country has been ruled by the army, directly or at varying degrees of remove, throughout its history. In a cycle that Mr Sharif has been through several times, the Corrupt Generals put a Biddable Civilian in Power then, after he or she dares to act independently, switch to a different proxy or Army Rule. Thereby Pakistan has had Four Army Dictators and None of its 20 Civilian Prime Ministers has completed a Five-Year term. This helps explain why it is so badly governed. Having little prospect of a full term, Pakistan’s civilian regimes abjure long-term decision-making in favour of populist giveaways and graft. As recently as 2006, Pakistanis were better-off than Indians; now the average income in India is 60% higher than that in Pakistan.
A big question arising from this latest turn of the wheel is whether the army can maintain control. There are two reasons to think it could struggle. The first is Mr Khan. Perhaps unwittingly, given his erstwhile compliance with the army, he has channelled Pakistanis’ long-standing despond into anger at the military establishment. This has put Pakistani Politics on New Terrain. Had the Boak Bollocks Corrupt Army Chief, General Asim Munir, responded to the vote count by calling a state of emergency, as his predecessors might have, he would have risked an uprising. “There is This Sense That the Gravy Train Needs to Stop,” says Mr Raja, an Old Acquaintance of Banyan. “We Can’t Be Forever Governed by Two Families in Cahoots with the Powers That Be.”
The second factor endangering the status quo is a protracted economic crisis. The inflationary shocks experienced in many countries have in Pakistan combined with the effects of long-standing malgovernance to deliver chronic inflation, joblessness and balance-of-payment problems. Mr Khan’s ousting in 2022 now appears well timed for him. Mr Sharif’s decision to let Shehbaz (Both Brothers Certified Corrupt to Their Cores) lead an 16-month-long replacement government instead of calling early elections looks like a major blunder. It has hung the crisis around his party’s neck. With Pakistan’s 24th IMF Bail-Out set to expire this month, and a bigger loan urgently required, the new government will need to take measures that will make it even more unpopular than it is. Its prospects—and Mr Sharif’s hopes of rebuilding his partyappear dire.
The same could be true for the army-run establishment that Mr Sharif has unhappily rejoined. It may have got away with its latest election heist. But in the process Mr Khan’s supporters have made the Corrupt Army, ISI, Politicians and Judges Look Desperate and Vulnerable. ■

THE REAL INDIA-PAK DYNAMIC.
THE REAL INDIA-PAK DYNAMIC.
Pakistan has forever I believe been a 'nice yet unpredictably violent' society.
India on other hand has changed in 21st c from a 'good but too weak' to 'not so good yet too too strong' nation.
We know how 20th c Ind-Pak relations went(read nowhere).
Can we do better now?
Time to Mull.
Pak of 20th c has had or shown respect only to Ind's 'high art' & in 21st c to its 'high power', not general soul respect per se, that we know of
Ind on other hand, has always treated Pak with far less respect than it's SOCIETY deserved, more as this 'land of nefarious elements'.
Wonder how these 2 natural soulmates can, aside all religiously political or politically religious meanderings, at a higher powered societal level give each other the opportunity to truly begin re-acquainting with each other, & moving beyond the chips on our shoulders.
Perhaps just the 'wait & watch (this new social media space) policy' is that best ever tactic & opportunity we've all been waiting for!
For Gen Z more than Gen Y & infinitely more than 90's Gen X, seems hell bent on relating to or atleast for a start dealing with each other.
Semi-Communist democracy (20th c India) v/s Communist Semi-democracy ( 20th c Pak) was a dud affair.
Does Semi-Capitalist democracy(21st c India) v/s Communist semi-democracy(21st c Pak) have any hope?
Can Charvak Hindu mind progress into Power-loving Muslim Pak heart more?
And finally-
Coming down to the 2 ends of the political spectrum:
1. 'Principles of politics'- Every pure democracy as there are 100s of around the world, will privately tell you, what the US has openly shouted from the rooftops about for ages -
"A half-working non-dictatorial democracy is a million days better than a working dictator-driven democracy".
Bringing us to the 2nd end , 'real politik'.
Pray why be that the US, that has spent a seemingly majority portion of it's time in foreign policy, 'promoting pure democracy around the world' by all sorts of back-room to full frontal strong-arm tactics for past 75-80 yrs, for some strange reason kept Pakistani near-dictatorship outta it's field of abhorrence?
Is it coz, though we aren't sure, but as Indians long suspect, US finds it in it's own interests to keep this loose political system in Pakistan afloat in perpetuity, making it much easier to bring about regime-change in Pak with least fuss, per region's changing climes & it's changing strategy? Also given how we know for fact now that Pakistan has almost always willingly operated as a 'free agent state for the highest sponsor' in it's foreign affairs, as long believed by the Indians. This as also borne by US-controlled events leading upto the latest unnatural regime change in Pak, as alleged not just by ex Pak PM but by several Indian Pak experts on YT too?
The Indian-Pak dynamic, turns out, is inextricably linked for long to a US-South Asia dynamic too. A interconnected world for real.

Latest News, Updates On Ayodhya Ram Mandhir-Ram Janmabhoomi.
Introduction
Rama, who is thought to be the seventh manifestation of the Hindu deity Vishnu, is said to have been born at the location known as Ram Janmabhoomi, which translates to "Birthplace of Rama." According to the Ramayana, Rama was born at a city known as "Ayodhya" on the Sarayu River's banks. Ayodhya now is located in the Uttar Pradesh state of northern India.
Widespread Hindu-Muslim violence broke out in 1992 after Hindu nationalists destroyed the Babri Masjid. The property was the subject of a legal issue that made it to the Indian Supreme Court, which heard cases involving title disputes from August to October 2019. The Supreme Court mandated that the site be given to a trust so that it can erect a Hindu temple by November 9th, 2019.
Opening Date
According to Mr. Rai, Lord Ram should be seated in the sanctum sanctorum by the Makar Sankranti festival in January 2024, with the temple's construction slated to be finished by December 2023.
Ayodhya Ram Mandir Bhumi Poojaceremony
Prime Minister Narendra Modi performed the Bhumi Poojan ceremony and set the temple's foundation stone on August 5, 2020, following the Supreme Court's decision.
Temple Buid up Area
The area of the temple is 54,700 square feet, or around 2.7 acres. Nearly 70 acres will make up the whole Ram Mandir Complex, which can accommodate a million worshippers at once.
In addition to the 10 acres on which the temple will be erected, a complex containing a prayer hall, a lecture hall, an educational facility, and acres of property.
Temple architect additional amenities like a museum and a restaurant will be developed on 57
Total Budget
It would probably cost between Rs 1,400 crore and Rs 1,800 crore to build the temple. According to representatives of the Ram Janmabhoomi TeerthKshetraNyas, the temple trust is receiving donations totaling between Rs 60 -70 lakh for the construction of the great temple.
Ayodhya Ram MandirProject Construction Company
The trust hired Tata Consulting Engineers as the project manager consultant and Larsen & Toubro as the design & build contractor for the construction of the temple in November 2020. Additional agreements for the construction of the 67-acre temple complex were made with Tata Consulting Engineers and Design Associates Inc. in February 2020.
Ayodhya Ram Mandir Trust
Each of the trust's 15 members must be an active Hindu; there will be 6 nominated members and 9 permanent ones.
Permanent participants
K. Parasaran acted as Shri Ram Lalla Virajmaan's representative.
Four religious leaders from various Indian temples
An official of the Nirmohi Akhara
Two eminent residents of the Ayodhya district,
one of them is a Dalit
Historical Background:
The Ayodhya Ram Mandir is believed to be built at the birthplace of Lord Ram, considered to be the seventh avatar of Lord Vishnu. The origins of this sacred site trace back to ancient times when Ayodhya was the capital of the mighty Kosala Kingdom. According to the epic Hindu scripture, the Ramayana, Lord Ram was born to King Dasharatha and Queen Kaushalya in Ayodhya.
Dispute at Ayodhya
On December 6, 1992, the Babri Masjid was demolished during a political rally, sparking rioting across the Indian subcontinent. Many prior attempts were unsuccessful, and one of them resulted in the 1990 Ayodhya gunfire incident.
A further land title case was brought before the Allahabad High Court, and on September 30, 2010, the court issued its decision. Ayodhya's 2.77 acres (1.12 ha) of land will be divided into three portions, with one third going to the Ram Lalla or Infant Rama, as represented by the Vishva Hindu Parishad receives one-third, the Uttar Pradesh Sunni Central Waqf Board receives one-third, and Nirmohi Akhara, a Hindu religious institution, receives the remaining third.
During site excavation, the Archaeological Survey of India discovered temple ruins, which were eventually presented as proof before the Indian Supreme Court.
The Indian government announced on February 5th, 2020, that a trust called Shri Ram Janmabhoomi TeerthKshetra would be in charge of rebuilding a Ram temple there.Additionally, it designated a different location in Dhannipur, Ayodhya for the construction of a mosque to replace the Babri Masjid, which was destroyed in 1992.
Babri Masjid (Mosque of Babur)
Babur, the first Mughal emperor of India, established the Mughal empire. The Babri Masjid (also known as "Babur's Mosque") is thought to have been constructed in 1528 on his orders by one of his generals, Mir Baqi. The East India Company's surveyor Francis Buchanan said that he discovered an inscription on the mosque walls that attested to this reality in 1813–1814, which gave rise to the widespread notion. He also documented the local legend that the mosque was constructed by emperor Aurangzeb (r. 1658–1707) following the destruction of a Rama temple.
The construction of a mosque at Ayodhya or the destruction of a temple for it are not mentioned in Babur's painstakingly detailed life journal, The Baburnama. Neither do his contemporaneous Hindu poet-saint Tulsidas' epic poem Ramcharitmanas, which is devoted to the Hindu god Rama, nor his grandson Akbar's court documents, the Ain-i-Akbari.
The "mosque-temple" is reported to have been a place of prayer for both Muslims and Hindus, with Hindus praying outside the mosque but still inside the courtyard. To avoid disagreements, a British governor had a railing built between the two districts in 1857. The argument began in 1949, following India's independence, when a Ram idol was erected within the mosque.

The Pamphlet: Latest Indian News, Politics, Economy, World Affairs, and Opinions
India's economy grew at 8.7% in the first quarter of 2023, the fastest pace in a year.
The government has announced a new scheme to provide financial assistance to farmers who have lost their crops due to natural disasters.
The Supreme Court has upheld the constitutional validity of the Citizenship Amendment Act.
India has been ranked 130th out of 180 countries in the World Press Freedom Index.
Economy
India's economy grew at 8.7% in the first quarter of 2023, the fastest pace in a year. The growth was driven by strong performance in the manufacturing and services sectors. The government has attributed the growth to its policies, such as the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojana, which provided financial assistance to the poor during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The government has also announced a new scheme to provide financial assistance to farmers who have lost their crops due to natural disasters. The scheme, called Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana, will provide insurance cover to farmers against crop damage caused by natural calamities such as floods, droughts, and hailstorms.
Politics
The Supreme Court has upheld the constitutional validity of the Citizenship Amendment Act. The Act, which was passed by the Parliament in December 2019, provides a pathway to citizenship for non-Muslim migrants from Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan. The Act has been challenged in court by several groups, who argue that it is discriminatory against Muslims.
The Supreme Court's decision is a major victory for the government, which has been under pressure to repeal the Act. The government has argued that the Act is necessary to protect the religious minorities in neighboring countries.
World Affairs
India has been ranked 130th out of 180 countries in the World Press Freedom Index. The index, which is published by Reporters Without Borders, ranks countries based on the level of freedom enjoyed by journalists. India's ranking has declined in recent years, due to a number of factors, including the increasing use of sedition laws against journalists, the harassment of journalists by government officials, and the spread of fake news.
The government has defended its record on press freedom, arguing that it is committed to freedom of expression. However, critics say that the government is increasingly using its powers to silence critical voices.
Opinions
In an opinion piece for The Hindu, economist Gita Gopinath argues that India's economic growth is sustainable. She says that the growth is being driven by structural reforms, such as the introduction of the Goods and Services Tax (GST). She also says that the government's policies, such as the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojana, are helping to reduce poverty.
In an opinion piece for The Indian Express, political analyst Sanjaya Baru argues that the Supreme Court's decision to uphold the constitutional validity of the Citizenship Amendment Act is a major setback for the secular fabric of India. He says that the Act is discriminatory and that it will lead to the further marginalisation of Muslims in India.
In an opinion piece for The Wire, journalist Siddharth Varadarajan argues that India's ranking of 130th out of 180 countries in the World Press Freedom Index is a disgrace. He says that the government is increasingly using its powers to silence critical voices and that this is a threat to democracy.
Stay tuned for more news and opinions from The Pamphlet.
