Nanami Kento x you
Summary: A meet-cute. A first date. A night of promises. As Nanami and you get to know each other better, will he score a second date? (Kento daddy is the gold standard, never settle for less, girlies 💙)
Themes: Romance, angst, fluff I Words: 3.2k
Warnings: MDNI. Sexual tension/suggestive, brief mentions of blood
Tumblr media
Scarfing down your dinner — filet mignon of the finest A5 Wagyu, seared to a perfect medium, — you all but failed to notice the very dapper, and most certainly very handsome, 6 foot-tall man seated right across from you.
He had been staring, and for a long while now, the ever eager manner in which you’d been devouring your meal. Looking up at long last, you swallowed your delectable bite of protein. God knows when was the last time you had an exquisite fare such as this.
“Why aren’t you eating?” you questioned, tone carrying such innocence he could only smirk.
Nanami needed this. Much of his prime expended on battling curses and mulling over mundane tasks as a corporate salaryman, this dinner date, this first date with you, was a genial reprieve from his woeful professions.
“You’re ravishing tonight,” he grinned through his compliment.
Really? After gluttoning out like a starving animal? His words were teetering between the borders of flattery and genuine praise, one in which you had trouble deciphering, but you accepted the courtesy regardless.
“Thank you, and you look…really good in that shirt. Most men don’t bother these days.”
You look like a sculpted God, was what you meant to say. But you digressed, lest you presented too off-kilter. As his arms shifted to slice through his steak, biceps pulled taut in the process, you were suddenly struck with the realisation that he was the actual feast.
You looked away before your mind could venture into dangerous territory.
“Is that so? It’s the bare minimum, no?” Nanami asked, genuinely baffled by what he seemingly considered the norm.
“You’d be surprised how sloppy some of them are…” you deadpanned.
“Then they don’t deserve you.”
In a miserable attempt to make up for the very unbecoming way you had chomped down your dinner, you paused in between delicate sips of Merlot, half surprised at his remark. Sweet nothings again?...Ugh, stop overthinking!
Had you not been too busy hanging onto his every word, perhaps you would’ve noticed the way his heart fluttered a beat, the subtle swallow in his larynx and the yen in his gaze — a result of your slight, sensual parting of lips, satin flesh stained scarlet by wine.
“You’re very sweet, Nana...”
“But you think I’m bluffing. You think this is some paltry ploy for me to swindle your love. Whatever less than stellar men you’ve dated, I assure you I am not.”
Nanami’s reply floored you.
His dark russet eyes searched yours, pleading. In truth, he had been nothing short of sincere —  though wildly aloof — since you two first met.
Heaps of burgundy and gold had framed the pathways, blanketing you in a lulling autumn foliage. You sped over bridges and cobblestones, hopeful that the sprint would mean you’d only miss 5 minutes of the bread-making workshop.
“Miss, the class started 30 minutes ago. I’m not responsible if your bread turns out unfit for human consumption. Take that counter over there.” The head baker, a greying and most ill-mannered Obasan, ordered after you’d finally arrived, eyes glaring at you with utmost displeasure.
You scoffed internally, softly cussing, stumbling to your assigned spot. As you scrambled to gather the ingredients, you soon realised it was a shared counter, with half-emptied bags of flour, oiled-up baking trays and egg shells scattered all over. A bottle of red food colouring lay tipped over, crimson liquid dripping off the table, pooling at the floor like baths of blood. It reminded you of an undercover mission that had you witnessing a gruesome murder…
“Hi, excuse me, do you mind moving your stuff?” you pressed to the blond man hunched over the oven. Ignoring you, he continued scrutinising his bread, brows furrowed in fervent concentration. “Sir? Hi, can I move them over?”
Silence.
Wholly fed up with his impertinence, you decided to shift them yourself. Is every baker this rude? At that rate, you’d be fortunate if you so much as got to take home a wet chunk of dough. No sooner had you grabbed the tray than a big set of hands firmly clutched yours.
You gasped in shock, tray slamming onto the table with a loud “clang!”, once again drawing unwarranted attention.
Glowering at you with more intensity than he did his bread, Nanami, or so his name tag suggested, spoke in such hushed cadence you were momentarily immobilised. “Don’t you know it’s rude to touch someone else’s belongings without permission?”
“I…”
Nanami awaited your response in unnerving indifference. Mildly annoyed you’d only managed a stammer in place of a confident retort, you searched frantically for a clever comeback. If you were honest, you were thrown off by just how attractive he was…
“Cat got your tongue?” Nanami cocked his eyebrow, his expression wry.
“I asked. Nicely. Twice. You chose to pretend…” you struggled to free your wrist from his grip, “...not to hear me.” He at last released your hand.
“If you’d taken the courtesy to be on time, perhaps we both wouldn’t be wasting precious seconds arguing like teenagers.”
“You talk an awful lot for someone who doesn’t know what it’s like to be on job standby everyday. You’re probably a spoiled brat living off a trust fund with too much time on your hands. Why else would you be here? In a class for retirees and overtaxed women? I worked overtime today! That’s the reason!”
Panting for breath, you were both impressed and appalled at your outburst. Yes, you were absolutely spent from work. Driven into the ground, when you’d much rather be pounded into a mattress… — such was the nature of a journalist. Countless “newsworthy” incidents to report, infinite places to go, yet aught a moment for yourself.
Nanami remained reticent. He simply watched as you tried to simmer down from your diatribe, and after a long minute, alas moved his ingredients without so much as a trifling twitch in his mouth.
Refusing to waste another second, you resolved to opening your bag of flour, albeit with too much force — the powdery contents entirely emptied, erupted — onto your partner’s face when he’d crouched down once again to hover over his bread.
You wished the earth would swallow you whole.
“I…I am so sorry! I didn’t mean to…”
Nanami would’ve very much liked to use his Curse Technique to topple your milk, drench you in vegetable oil, teach you an invaluable lesson…but his remarkable mastery over his emotions hindered him so.
“I’ll compensate for your class…I’m really sorry!”
Sucking in a long breath, he closed his eyes, undeniably ruffled.
“Just…”
“Okay, I get it, I’ll leave now.”
Resigned to the cruel fate of having the worst day, you hastily gathered your possessions and dashed out of the studio.
The crisp autumn air provided little succour from your humiliation following the day’s events. You were on the verge of tears. A therapeutic evening you’d been looking forward to, all ruined due to the most absurd of reasons.
Padding softly on fallen foliage, you whisked your phone out of your work bag, hell-bent upon procuring at least one nice thing. You gazed at the ageless Ryokans — perched so gracefully atop the Kyoto hillside, adorned with the carnelian of fall — and snapped a slew of photographs. Despite the day’s disaster, you’d wanted to forever etch the beauty of the countryscape in your mind.
Contented with your last shot, you lowered your camera, only to be greeted by the chalky and stoic face of the man you’d just offended.
“What…” taken aback at his sudden appearance. “I already apologised, what do you w…”
“You forgot your scarf.”
You stood dumbfounded and in disbelief over his gesture, despite what you’d done. “Oh, that’s very kind of you, hmm, thank you.”
Nanami continued standing there, hands now rigidly tucked in his trouser pockets. He had his coat over his ivory cashmere turtleneck.
An awkward silence befell between you both.
“Aren’t you going back in? Your bread might be ready soon,” you probed.
“It’s already burnt. No point.”
You felt terrible, but words eluded you. Nanami broke the silence this time.
“Does it hurt?”
“Huh?”
“Your hand. I…didn’t mean to be so rough.”
“Oh, I’m fine really…” you mumbled as you fished out three 10,000 yen notes. “Here. For ruining your bread…and face.”
That was a costly mistake…
What lingered in front of you was the most aggrieved of faces, even more so when you’d violated his bread.
“Is this an insult?” he demanded, expression irate.
“No? I promised I’d pay you back.”
“Then make up for it another way…” Nanami collected himself before continuing, “let me take you out to dinner”
What?
With the incredulous turn of events still ruminating in your mind, you swirled the last of your Merlot, savouring its cherry undertones. Despite his perplexing behaviour, you were drawn to Nanami’s gentlemanly charm. Surely but a fool would pass up on his unexpected offer…
On the other end of the table, Nanami had thought him a fool for having almost missed the opportunity to ask you out. Beautiful, smart mouthed and a perverse loathing for work — you had him in a chokehold, you just didn’t know.
Surveying the ardour in his eyes, you remarked, “you’re a strange one, Nanami. First you look at me with disdain, now you’re beguiling me with honeyed-words…can you really blame me?”
“If tonight isn’t enough to attest my sincerity, then perhaps I’ll have the good fortune of taking you out again?” he smirked, clearly pleased with his sly response.
You beamed. “Sounds very much like you’re the one with a debt to pay…”
Rummaging through your purse for lipstick, you, being the fumbling, blundering oddball that you were, lost grip of it, the leather and its contents strewn over the floor in a quick second. You reached to retrieve them, but found Nanami already crouched on one knee, your purse in his hand.
With your body bent and him on the ground, both your eyes were levelled. An erratic pulse arose in your chest as he picked up the last item — your house keys, positioned just an inch away from where your stiletto heel was. His gaze, restless and pining, trailed up the black sheer of your stockings, fawning over the way it hugged your silken skin, wishing so terribly he had his face buried beyond the slit of your dress…
A long minute passed when he alas tore away from his fantasy, handing back your contents.
“There you go, my lady.”
The night ended with Nanami escorting you to the restaurant elevator. He had spared no expense at extravagance — a 3-Michelin Star located at the 77th floor of a swanky hotel. As he led you into the compact lift, as with most things in Japan were, a group of diners conveniently entered as well. The both of you were abruptly ushered to the back corner of the lift, your body pushed up firmly against his.
With a “ding!”, the doors shut, sealing both your fates of having no escape from the forced proximity. You tensed up, wholly aware of how your body was flushed against his, so close that you could make out the bergamot undertones of his cologne. His breath, otherwise hitched, was warm and unsteady above the shell of your ear.
Nanami was a man of exceptional self-control. But your skin, ambrosial with notes of tuberose, so utterly soft and yielding, was skimming his every desire, teasing, taunting... His psyche went mad, culminating in a growing ache in his pants.
He thought about running his hands through your hair, brushing them to the side, just so he could lay the gentlest of kisses down your nape. He envisioned sliding the straps off your shoulders, relishing in the way they slipped fluidly down, just so he could inhale the pheromones buried under your skin. Most of all, he imagined gripping the corners of your thighs, your plush flesh pliant in his hold, just so he could fucking rip that dress off…
“What a beautiful couple…” a middle-aged lady blurted to you, grin reaching the corners of her eyes. She nudged her husband with her elbow, insisting how in love you two looked, and how he ought to take her out on more dates.
“Oh, thank you, but we’re not…”
“Thank you, Ma’am, I’m very lucky.” Nanami interjected before you could finish.
You forced a smile at the older couple, left hand secretly smacking Nanami’s as a way of umbrage at his lie. He seized your fidgeting hands, locked his fingers with yours and pulled you closer in. You stifled a gasp, now fully sentient of the hard bulge below his belt.
Heat flushed your cheeks crimson, and were it not for the loud chatter amongst the guests, your thunderous heartbeat would have betrayed your seemingly calm demeanour.
Wanting to chastise him with your stare, you tried to turn.
“Face the front.”
You obeyed almost instinctively. The rasp and power in his delivery, combined with his possessive grip, sent you quivering somewhere between your thighs.
—-------------------
The elevator doors opened to reveal the long walkway to your apartment unit. At that point, your calves and feet were aching from the arch of your stiletto, with blisters forming at your toes. Beauty is pain, right? Hobbling out of the lift, you clutched onto Nanami’s arm for support.
“Hang on, my feet…I can’t…” You squat down, about to remove your heels.
“Stand up. Let me.” Nanami responded, hauling you up gently.
Let him what?
In one swift motion, the Jujutsu Sorcerer scooped you into a bridal carry, your body snug against his very firm pectorals. You yelped out in surprise, scream reveberating off the hollow corridor — he seemed to have a penchant for catching you off guard.
“Do you want to wake your neighbours?”
“You could’ve warned me first!”
Striding languidly as if you weighed nothing, Nanami continued past the row of units. Yours was the last. “I’m just trying to ease your discomfort, princess.”
A blush burgeoned on your cheeks at “princess”. Gallantry always seemed to shadow his nonchalance, and he did it well. A mere evening, and already you had been intimately close to him twice.
Making it thrice, you hooked your arms around his neck, fingers lightly touching the fuzz of his hair. Your sudden willingness to ease into him threw him off, his step surreptitiously losing cadence. Nanami turned to look at you, entirely enraptured by how breathtaking you were up close.
For a moment, it was as if nothing else existed outside the both of you. Nanami and you —  transient in a deviant dimension of time, your entwined warmth the only anchor in a malevolent universe.
You so wanted to prolong the moment of that gaze, but he’d already reached the end of the hallway. “Is this it?” Nanami asked, setting you down on a stool you had beside your door.
“Yupp. This is me. Nothing fancy.” As you finished, the ceiling lights flickered off, casting the both of you in shadow, and within seconds flittered back on again.
“You should really get someone to fix this,” he added, concerned.
“I have. They’re just taking their own sweet time…” Oftentimes, the condominium management was the bane of your existence.
Sensing your frustration, Nanami crouched down. He wrapped his hands around your ankles, working to unbuckle your straps as though a practised skill.
“Nanami, you don’t have to…”
“I want to. It’s the least I could do seeing how exquisitely you dressed up tonight.”
Your heartbeat ascended to a hammer when he ran big, calloused hands over your calves, fingers kneading into your aching muscles, working his way ever so treacherously up the back of your knees.
“Does it feel good?” Nanami pinned you with his stare, as if a silent dare to answer his very parlous question.
Every nerve in your body went taut, your being mindless, save for the heavy breathing you realised too late.
“Are you alright?”
“I…yea..I’m…thank you for tonight, Nanami,” you composed, “I had the best time,” relunctantly moving your legs away to stand up.
“It’s so nice to have a normal night for once. No crazy stories, ghost sightings…people disappearing into railway tracks…I deal with enough madness at my job.
And I like you, stockbroker. You make me feel sane, and seen, and you know what it’s like to be overworked.” You beamed into Nanami, who was now towering over you without your heels.
There was such tenderness in the way he beheld your admission, but something else gnawed at his heart. A sinister, uneasy truth he wasn’t yet ready to share — being a Jujutsu Sorcerer was far from normal.
“Oh, I wanted to ask, how do you have such quick reflexes? Maybe you can teach me. I want to ward off creepy men,” you scoffed, turning to unlock your door.
Perhaps it was for the best your back was to him, for Nanami’s words caught in his throat, his face laden with guilt for the lie he was about to tell. It had been a long time since he had felt so happy, so like himself…and he wasn’t about to throw it away.
“I…uhm…am trained in martial arts. Particularly Karate. Black belt.” It was a twist to his gut, but the thought of losing you was inconceivable.
“No wonder I feel safe around you.” At that, you tiptoed, aiming to kiss his cheek goodnight, only for your lips to reach the bottom of his jaw. Nanami clamped up at the unexpected contact, his disposition sent into absolute anarchy.
It was an accident, but you let your kiss linger on, feeling the slight stubble of his aftershave, dropping your lips intricate inches down his neck, feeling the bobble of his swallow…
And you stepped into your apartment.
“Goodnight, Nanami.”
“When can I see you again?” He pushed against your door, impatient. The last thing he wanted was to come off too audacious, but you’d awoken a fire in him he never knew existed.
“Uhm…I don’t…”
“Tomorrow?” Nanami pressed.
“That’s just a few hours from now,” you laughed, entirely endeared by his earnestness.
“The day after? Monday? Tuesday? Wed…”
“Saturday, Nanami. I’m free Saturday.”
You were radiant. You were ecstatic. You were…falling in love?
Nanami mirrored your glow, the bridge of his nose now a glistening scarlet. He was grinning like a child promised with the delight of dessert — a very lovely, and a very dulcet treat.
Taking your hand to lay saccharine kisses, he let himself tread into dangerous waters once more by grazing his lips over the insides of your wrist, inhaling your sweet perfume, clinging onto its grace. It was a scent he’d forever enshrine in his heart.
“Goodnight, princess. I can’t wait for Saturday.”
—-------------------
Pacing back to his navy Maserati GranCabrio, Nanami was basking in the afterglow of rapture. He had already been musing where to take you with the promise of Saturday, his chest rippling with the rush of possibilities.
Elsewhere, a hostile gospel slipped past the sorcerer’s daydream — uninvited, sudden, threatening. It brought along with it a grim vestige —
Nanami had told a harrowing lie.

classmate au | park jay
Tumblr media
❝ come with me to the canteen, i’ll pay for whatever you want ❞
heeseung | JAY | jake | sunghoon | sunoo | jungwon | ni-ki
honestly, jay usually just keeps to himself
sooooooo campus crush.
someone play message in a bottle by taylor swift
he only goes crazy when he’s with his friends but like tbh i don’t see him going around and socializing in the classroom 😭
he usually waits for his classmates to come to him ykwim
he’s also def a morning person
arrives to school like a whole HOUR before class starts
his parents probably drive him to school and drop him off on the way to work
he’ll just be sitting in his seat in the middle
minding his own business .. doing last minute homework .. on his phone
jay is annoying bc he’s the natural smart type
like he’ll just know random shit
he’s the type to mumble the answers under his breath during oral recitation
TO HELP !!!! TO HELP !!!!
you only have a few memories with the boy and the most prominent is just so silly
you had one of those by-three quiz bee type of activity in school where u had to write ur answers on a small whiteboard and raise them
jay’s group was seated in front of you
and he’d just notice you leaning forward and trying to copy off them bc ur team is hopeless 😭😭😭😭
SO he angles his whiteboard while answering so you can see better
to the point where when the teacher looks back he just shoves it in ur face right away
ur teams laughed so hard
but yah !!!! just a funny memory to remember him by
you don’t realize you live in the same neighborhood until you commute back home together once
insert spider-man meme here
“you also live here?”
“yeah, i do”
so, on the occasion that his parents pick him up from school in their fancy car, he lets you ride with them back home
and when commuting, he always makes sure to guarantee you a seat if that’s like a train or bus
also stands in front of you so strangers can’t be weird and creepy
since then, you always ride with him home whether that’s in their family car or commuting
it’s a silent agreement
and he gets so used to it to the point that he WAITS for you sometimes…
[faints]
you’d be caught up in your club meeting and just see jay hovering outside the classroom???
he’s on his phone, totally unaware of you heading towards his direction
“hey, you done?,” he’ll say, backpack swung behind him as he reaches to take yours
“you didn’t have to wait for me,” you’d reply shyly
“but we always go home together, don’t we? besides, it’s getting late and it’s not safe for you to commute back home at night”
JAYYYYYYY… the man that you are
when he gets comfortable, he starts talking to u in class too
like not just casual conversation
he’d full on sit next to you and gossip
which surprises u bc you’ve never seen him willingly get off his seat to gossip with someone
NOW important thing to note is that your canteen is like three buildings away from your classroom so it’s a long walk
this mf always asks you to come to the canteen with him during free period or when the teacher doesn’t show up to class
“let’s go to the canteen”
“no, it’s tiringgg”
“i’ll get you whatever you want”
“ok let’s go!”
he’s balling 😭😭😭😭
jay just lets you get whatever you want in the canteen
true to his word, he pays for all of it
it’s kind of being his secret tactic to manipulating you to come with him to things
but who’s rly winning??? you get FREE things and u hang out with THE pretty jay
he thinks he wins tho😕😕 bc he likes u and loves spending time with u
so when that “no” forms on ur lips, he knows exactly what to do to force you to come with him
THO u do pay for his food sometimes or the fare for commuting back home bc u feel bad for taking his money
oh jay also gives me the one who offers to have practice over at their house
you are a frequent visitor in his house
his parents know u… the housekeepers… everyone just knows you at this point
you even go to some of their family dinners together when u hang out and his dad suddenly wants to eat out
“bring (name)” PLSSSSSS
they’d be interrogating u and getting to know u and ur family lots
jay’s the one that gets embarrassed and tells them to stop !!!!!!!
sometimes his mom would let him bring food for u in school
“this is (name)’s favorite, right??”
his parents LOVE you
u just become part of their family 😭
to the point that they say “about time” when jay finally asks you to be his girlfriend
“finally!!! she was basically already my daughter anyway!!!” his parents would say
BUT THE QUESTION IS
How does he ask u to be his gf
i have a story for U !!!!!!!!
it’s one of ur school events and u’re one of the people going around taking photos for the paper or so u could post it on the school page
you would stumble upon him during his contest
he would give you a quick smile before going back to Concentration Mode
THEN u kind of get tired walking around the whole campus so u hang by ur room where all ur other classmates with no contests are
AND THERE’S A GUITAR
you don’t know how to play the guitar
you jokingly get it and put it on your lap just as jay walks into the room
his eyes light up and he’s stumbling to sit next to you, asking if you know how to play
you don’t 💔💔💔💔💔
so he teaches you BYE
he helps you learn some basic chords and some strumming patterns
would whisper a few words of praise even at the smallest things that you get right
jay is SOOOOO encouraging that it’s painful
would make so much accidental eye contacts at ur close proximity
anyways this school event lasts a few days
SO at the last day .. during awarding .. he asks if you’re busy and if you could meet him at ur classroom
it’s empty obv bc everyone is at the court for the awarding
HE CONFESSES
Yes just like that. jay confesses to u.
it’s so clear he’s nervous bc of his foot tapping and his fumbling hands and how he can’t make eye contact all of a sudden
ofc u say YES
when you go to upload the photos for the school event .. u find some pictures of u taken by him 🥹

Chaand chuppa badal mein...
Krishna and Bhaishmi are back. Enjoyyyyyy
Krishna and I have regularly stayed in touch with each other after the train took me away from him and the serene temple towns of Mathura and Vrindavan. We talk a lot on text and sometimes on call in the late hours of the night. I have to quietly sneak out to the balcony. If I am lucky, I get to go to the terrace without waking my parents up. If I am luckier, our schedules match our free time in the evening, and I get to call him in the quiet hours of the evening.
I chose humanities. Ranvit and Bhumi had to pursue science even though Ranvit likes art more. Bhumi was indecisive about what subjects to learn, but she fares well enough in science and mathematics than her brother and me, so she decided to go for the science stream.
Ranvit has to struggle a lot in physics and math though. He takes out his stress through painting and reading about Indian art. One thing I am happy about him is that he did not let go of his art, nor did my uncle and aunt force him to abandon his hobbies. Their condition: “Pursue science. Get admission into a decent engineering college and then keep doing whatever hobby makes you happy. But science and engineering.”
As for me, class ten mathematics had given me enough nightmares. I did well in science, but I had no interest in pursuing it in more detail for the next two years. Those monkey problems from Ranvit’s physics book and large derivations on Bhumi’s notebook had me in shivers. Maasi supports me choosing humanities though, but would never want her children to pursue anything apart from science.
Ranvit and I are in class twelve now. We have our boards and entrance exams next year. Bhumi is new to class eleven but she is able to handle her subjects well enough, better than Ranvit though.
“Busy looking at the moon…?” Krishna’s honeyed voice draws my attention from the golden full moon beaming right back at me. I breathe deeply and sigh. A sheepish smile forms on my lips, and I place my phone on my left ear. “Uh... sorry, but you are right. How did you figure out?”
I can hear his smile through the breath that escapes his lips on the phone call. He is outside too — perhaps staring at the same moon with me.
“I have a golden moon dangling down the dark sky too, but there is somebody else who is ethereal than the moon whom I would like to see, but my fate doesn’t support that.” He sighs. It is a dramatic one. “Guess, I will have to make do with this golden ball of light.”
My cheeks warm and I smile. It is actually a full-fledged grin with my eyes imagining how he would look saying all that in front of me.
I can easily picture a charming lazy smile and a hand moving through his soft wavy locks while he leans closer to me and tucks my hair behind my ear.
A realization strikes me as my eyes glance at the gleaming moon once again. I am badly whipped for this guy.
“Bhaishmi?” I hear him question.
“Yes. I am here only. Am I audible?”
“Did I get you flustered?”
“Shut up.”
“Yay!”
“You are an idiot.”
“Only for you.”
We don’t say anything for a minute. I can hear him breathing. It is a faint sound, though. I like this comfortable silence. I do not feel restless to hold a conversation forcibly.
Krishna’s voice from the other side enters my ear. “I composed a new tune.” He pauses for a brief second before continuing. “I would like you to hear it.”
My heart picks its pace. It has been a while since I have heard him play flute to me. The last time it happened, we were on the terrace at Yashodhara’s house before we left for our separate ways.
“I would love to.”
“Wow. Cool. I will quickly fetch it. By the way,” I hear a tone of hesitancy in his voice, “are you okay if I play it to you on video call?”
I slap my palm over my lips to contain my excited laughter. Breathing in deeply, I nod and reply, “Yes. I am alone at my society’s terrace.”
“Okay!” He drags ‘okay’ with happiness for ten seconds and disconnects the voice call.
A minute later, my screen lights up with a pretty aesthetic profile photo of Krishna. I slide the green call sign upwards and receive the call.
An excited Krishna waves at me before placing the phone on his table. It is 11.30 PM and he looks as fresh as a lily flower, with a good outfit on top. A cream polo shirt with half sleeves that proudly boasted his toned arms and dark blue trousers.
I fan my face, pretending that I am adjusting my loose hair from my ponytail. After all, he can’t make out that I am fanning invisible hair strands around my face.
He sits on his chair and pushes himself along with the chair slightly backwards to place himself and his flute in the frame, his flute placed near his lips, a place I had been to a year before. The fateful kiss on the evening of Holi seared through my memory, and I blinked hard to bring my focus back on Krishna.
“Ready?” He asks.
I nod quietly while hiding my blush at witnessing the handsome sight in front of me.
He begins by playing a single note that sounds meditative to me. It is a slow but soothing beginning. I can imagine the moon and the cool breeze blowing around me. A few more slow music tunes flow through his flute, and I observe his face.
Krishna always appears so serene while playing the flute. He is at peace. Each of his facial muscles lie in a relaxed state except the slight curl of his lip. It appears like a soft subtle knowing smile, like that of a talented artist well aware of his craft and the hold he has over his cherished audience.
This time he plays a slow melody, as if taking time to express each emotion through every note. The rise and fall in volume and scale expresses a story of its own. It is hypnotizing.
There is yearning, loads of it. The tunes tug at my heart, as if calling my name. Krishna gently sways. It is a graceful motion. Well, Krishna is perfection incarnate. He is a natural performer.
My eyes close on their own. I can see myself dancing in my head to his music. I once dreamt that I was dancing to his music, only for him, for his eyes to see me and my art, just like he played the flute to me those two nights, only for me.
The yearning melody transforms to a slightly fun tune, as if teasing a beloved to proclaim their love, until it begins expressing bashfulness and devotion. God, he was truly a talented artist. He ought to be on bigger stage shows than post some one minute videos on Instagram and play his genius tunes for my ears to listen.
At one point, the music peaks. I feel my eyes moisten and my heart full with nostalgia, yearning and may I add this secretly: Love. A very tender love blooming like a lotus in the early hours of the morning when its warm golden rays caress its petals, coaxing it awake very gently.
It ends and my eyes fly open. I smile — this time not out of shyness, but of genuine admiration. I wonder if he can see my glazed eyes.
“Oh my, are you crying?”
I shrug my shoulders and blink those tears away. “Have I told you that your music is very moving? It easily makes someone too attached to it. It is like a spell.”
This time Krishna smiles shyly and scratches the back of his head. “Glad you liked it.”
Liked? The word loved too would be an understatement. I don’t say that out loud though. I answer with one of my pretty smiles.
Krishna twirls the flute around his fingers when I see him lean closer towards the screen, his eyebrows furrowed as if trying to focus on something. “Are you wearing my peacock chain?”
I pick the pecock pendant around my neck. “Yes, I keep it around my neck most of the time.”
“So, you still wear it every day.”
I nod with a hum and fiddle with the pendant. It used to be a part of Krishna’s beloved flute until he decided that it would better suit as a parting gift for a girl he met on a train than a beautiful adornment for his musical companion.
His eyes go thoughtful instead of the slightly smug playful expression he bears to mess with my heart with his relentless flirty lines. Krishna’s lips curl beautifully upwards. He is smiling to himself and I don’t question him why.
I know the answer to it.
He brings himself near to his phone. I can see more of his pretty face with more clarity. “The gods did hear my prayer after a long time. I got to see my girl prettier than the moon.”
Rolling my eyes, I reply, “Your flattery continues even though it is past midnight.” Secretly, I preen when I hear him say ‘my girl.’
I am a simple girl. I hear a sweet and charming guy call me as his; I melt into a puddle.
“Flattery for you, sweetheart. For me, it is the truth.”
And like that, my friends, I go quiet except the thudding heart inside my chest.
“So, how are you up this late, Bhaishmi,” He asks, tilting his head. “Your mother makes you sleep by this time.”
Shifting my phone towards my other hand, I flex my right hand a little to ease the stiffness in my wrist and answer, “My parents are out of town. They are visiting a relative’s wedding and will be back a day after tomorrow.”
Krishna’s dark eyes widen in surprise. “So, you are home alone for two whole days.”
Mustering up some courage, I add, “And two whole nights.”
He places his cheek on his palm. He looks like a lovesick fool, a very adorable one at that as he asks, “So, no interruption for two whole nights?”
“Nope.”
He hoots loudly before looking alarmingly at the door. Turning back towards me, he says softly, “Head back to your room then Bhaishmi. You are alone and you must not linger around late at night, especially on a dark terrace.”
I get up from my spot and walk towards the door. My hand accidentally hits the steel door. It creaks in an eerie tone, making the both of us jump.
I jog down the stairs with light feet as images of terrifying ghosts chasing me fill my head, and rush inside my warm cozy room.
“Did you lock the door properly?” Krishna asks.
I nod while curling myself in my cozy pink coloured blanket. My eyes close at the comfort surrounding me followed by the urge to fall asleep right away thanks to the mental exhaustion of being up late at nights for studies and projects for my school.
“Should we do a virtual sleepover thingy? You are sleepy.” Krishna points out.
I laugh and lay my head on my fluffy pillow. “I don’t have enough data pack for that.”
Krishna walks to his bed and covers himself with his blanket. His voice goes soft. He should sing me some lullabies, and I would fall asleep like a baby.
“Go to sleep, Bhaishmi. Try visiting me in my dreams.” He says with a teasing grin.
I smile in content instead of blushing hard. His face and his beautiful eyes are the last thing I see before my call screen changes to my lock screen wallpaper.
A ping awakens my tired eyes. My screen lights up.
“Goodnight Bhaishmi❤️. Sweet dreams.” There is a heart emoji beside my name. It is a red heart this time.
I wonder if he accidentally sent the red heart, since we generally stick to pink and blue ones.
Another ping.
“I will try to visit you in your dreams ;)” He adds a winking emoticon and a laughing emoji.
I grin and press my palm to my forehead before sending a text.
‘Goodnight Krishna 🩷🩷’
I don’t mention the part where I tell him that he has been in my dreams quite often.

Main Masterlist / Dieter Bravo Masterlist / Writing Challenge
Tumblr media
Tapping his foot on his hardwood floors, Dieter Bravo is in an all too familiar place. He’s been purposely busy. Keeping occupied except for when he’s completely exhausted has kept him out of trouble, even in the tabloids. People are saying he’s changed for the better. He knows he’s keeping clean, keeping in the straight and narrow.
Bravo has run into a snag on his progress.
The last few paintings had done well in gallery showing, even selling for double than asking price, his last movie was well reviewed. These are both very good things, wonderful. He’s happy, proud even. Bravo is having plenty of sex, mountains of it. In his head. Reality has played out much differently. All this work he’s doing, he hasn’t been able to chase a different high. One he’s used to replace the drugs. It wasn’t that he couldn’t find people to have sex with. He’s been more careful about it, not something he’s been concerned about prior to his new leaf. In doing so, acts he’d normally attempt weight more heavily on his mind and keep little Dee from swelling when needed. Bravo knows the rumor that might be going around but it’s not true! Since his mind is clearer, he actually thinks about who he’s having sex with more and little D isn’t always on board. You know, one of those words his therapist mentioned – cognitive dissonance except it’s happening with his partner in pleasure little D. Big D when he’s feeling in the mood.
He knows he could just go to one of those discreate clubs, seek his needs out there, but he always assumed he wouldn’t need one. The Oscar Winner keeps looking for different projects, in his studio trying out new paints, trying to learn the saxophone (it was a bad idea, but sounded great at three in the morning when he called his assistant and told him what to buy), he then went to a spin class and damn near passed out after fifteen minutes and tried a cooking class but was kicked out for causing an oil fire.
Nothing was working so he called and asked to stop by, check the place out. The owner of course said that was fine – he’s Dieter Bravo, they’d love to have him. Dieter told the owner,
“I’ll take any high. Any glazin’ of the eyes. Any solitary pleasure that masks my sorrow. No drugs though, I’m not willing to backslide over it.”
The owner said they understood and had the perfect person for him.
So now Dieter waits in this room. It’s an array of different purples well violets since this is a more classy place. He wanted to undress to his boxers but was told by the front desk to leave them on. He did remove his shoes, socks and jacket, but otherwise he’s dressed. Simple black slacks and a white button-down shirt that had bellowing sleeves with a deep v-cut exposing his chest down to his sternum. He felt like dressing up a bit but still kept it simple, most of the clientele were in suits and dresses that Dieter saw. Soft guitar music played in the background, he closed his eyes as he waited curious who they might have matched him with based on what he asked for.
Dieter heard the clicking of heels first. Then smelled a deep woodsy fragrance, it approached slowly, matching the pace of the heels. They stopped in front of him and he caught hints of citrus and a flower. Using his aquiline nose to sniff closer to the source, feeling body heat radiating from whoever was in front of him. “It’s faint but you smell like a sweet pea.” He released a deep breath he’d been building from taking in and trying to identify the different components of their scent.
“Welcome Mr. Bravo. I hope my fragrance invokes pleasant memories. I’m told you want to rid yourself of sorrow. Correct?” The voice embraced him as soft fingers coiled around his neck, thumbs pressing into his chin.
“Yes, please. I need to forget, just for a bit. Then I might be able to get my body to function properly. Everything is fine, great even.” He kept his eyes closed and he felt them. Lips on his forehead, warm and plush. They lingered, “Can I touch you, please?” No answer was given as hands left his neck and were placed on each side of a torso. His palms roamed slowly tracing the lace that wrapped the body he had in his hands.
The lips left his forehead and he was tempted to reach for them, but kept his eyes closed, he would wait, trying to keep his breathing even. “Is this alright Mr. Bravo or do you want someone who might-“Dieter wildly shook his head.
“Don’t you go anywhere Sweet Pea. Stay right here with me. Just like this. Maybe more. Can I look at you?” He pulled the body toward him, sniffing more. “Call me Dieter. Mr. Bravo is the one having issues with his little D.” He made himself chuckle knowing what a stupid joke it was. Fingertips graced his cheek and tipped his chin upward.
“Look at me Dieter. How do you want me to drown your sorrows tonight? I usually go by Violet due to the room, but I like Sweet Pea when you say it. It makes me sound cute.” The giggle from this celestial being has Dieter wondering if she’ll still giggle if he’s buried between her legs. He wouldn’t need to come up for air, just search for what would be his reward: her moans and his tongue squeezed by her pelvic muscles. His palms ran around to her back, feeling the different rolls of her body.
“I want to see if I’m going to go into a coma from drowning in your nectar Sweet Pea. Can I be your first casualty? If I was going to go, I’d want to be surrounded by thick thighs and a woman’s cries I offer her.” Slipping her left heel off, Sweet Pea places her leg on the bed beside Dieter’s right leg. His hand slowly makes its way across the curve of her wide ass to her thigh, his large fingers dipping into the small holes of the fishnets, tugging on them. “Let me show you gorgeous.”
Smiling, Sweet Pea gives his lips a quick peck before bending to reach between his legs, “Seems just the thought is enough Dieter. Why come to me? I’m sure you’ve got many offers, especially if you’re asking like that.” She lowers her leg and stands back up, turning her back to him but looking over her shoulder to meet his eyes. The glint in them makes her lick her lips, she could ask him to do it, just to see if he will. Given how desperate he is, he might. He won’t say it, but his body betrays him, he said that ‘little D’ was having trouble but that didn’t seem to be the case at all from what she felt. Maybe it’s the scents, the atmosphere and that what happens here will remain here until he comes back. She crosses the room and drops her black thong, stepping out of it and her other heel, sitting on a violet velvet loveseat with her legs open wide. “This is what you want right Dieter?” Her elbows are on her knees with one hand beckoning him. “Come to me, but undress and crawl.”
Bravo doesn’t want control right now, nor does he want to think. He just wants to act, to perform. In this moment, he isn’t thinking about how lonely he is or how his career could crumble on some whim of culture or random video. There’s only this purple room he can melt into as he removes his clothes, making himself bare to Sweet Pea. Dieter’s actually hard, dripping onto her carpet as he lowers himself onto the floor on all fours. His knees are burning as he makes his way across the padded carpet. It’s worth his goal though, into her tender folds. “You like to see a man work, huh Sweet Pea? That’s more than fine.” Halfway there, his bobbing swollen cock made a mess of the carpet and his belly. Upon reaching her, he placed his hands on her knees and looked up to her, balancing himself on his knees so little D was at full attention. He wanted to show her what she’d been able to bring out of him so far. Something changed though, he was smiling but Violet recognized it. She used her fingers to rub circles into his biceps and shoulders before tracing the pronounced vein on his neck.
“You adorable man. This isn’t what you want. At least not now. You can’t seem to decide between the two Dieter.” Fingers run through his hair, and he knows she’s right but couldn’t she had said so after he’d had his fill, hear her cries?
“You’re not wrong, but I still need this. Need you.” He dipped his head to nibble on her thigh and she hummed but pushed his head back. In standing, she also helped him to his feet and brought him back to the bed, removing her lace corset and climbed on the bed.
“From behind, I’m not going to have your tears dripping where I can watch while you fuck me.” Now Sweet Pea was on all fours and Dieter’s sorrow returned. It was inescapable, but he wanted to see her face. He could block it off, just for a short while he tried to get the sunshine.
“No, I need to see how your face changes as you take me.” Crawling across the bed behind her, he pulled her back flush to his chest and turned her chin over her shoulder, capturing her lips. Slipping his tongue in, the warmth felt good. He hadn’t had it in months, he didn’t know why now, in this place with her, but he’d accept it. All of it. “Pleasure to mask my sorrow is why I’m here, Sweet Pea. Have me bask in the sun.”
Their kiss broke as Sweet Pea turned to put her arms around his shoulders, kissing his forehead once again as Dieter laid back on the bed, she fell forward as he took her hair out of the high ponytail it had been in. Her hair fell around her face, her wet folds grazed his shaft and he moaned. “I’ll be your dawn until the light shines on you Dieter.”
Coming unbound, feeling elated and devastated when he had to leave, Dieter had been able to bury his sorrow in pleasure for a time. Another appointment was made for later in the week. To quote Bravo, “I’ll deny me none while I’m allowed because I wouldn’t fare well.”

The Christmas Waltz
Summary:  Regina Mills wanted to share the perfect dance at her Christmas wedding and so booked lessons with Robin Locksley. When her wedding plans fall through, will she find happiness and solace in the dance studio…and her rather attractive dance teacher? And will she prove to be exactly who Robin needs in his life as well? OQ AU
Chapter 1: FFN | AO3 | Wattpad
Chapter 5: We Danced Anyway
FFN | AO3 | Wattpad
Excerpt:
"We'll see you next week, sweetheart," Daddy said, hugging Regina as they left their usual brunch date. "And if you need to get out of the city, just let us know."
Mother nodded, hugging her next. "I know the perfect spa you and whoever you want can go to in order to relax and not think about everything for a few days."
"I appreciate that," Regina replied, pulling away. "But I think I'll be fine."
"Alright," Mother said. "But the offer still stands."
Regina nodded. "Thank you. I'll call you during the week and then see you for brunch next week."
Daddy hailed her a cab and she climbed in, waving to her parents. The cab took her to her apartment and she paid the fare before climbing out. She took a deep breath of fresh if cold air as she crossed to her front door. Graham opened it for her, tipping his hat. "Hello, Miss Mills," he said.
"Graham," she said warmly. "Everything good?"
"For the most part," he replied. "You just missed the rush. It seems everyone in the building is going holiday shopping today. I think there are some big sales today or something."
She nodded, realizing she hadn't paid attention to things like that. Knowing the wedding would consume everything, she had gone shopping for her Christmas presents earlier in the year and so she was done with maybe the exception of some stocking gifts for her parents. But she had time to get those so she was looking forward to just spending a quiet afternoon in her apartment.
"Well, I hope you have some quiet and are gone before they come back," she said. "Have a good afternoon, Graham."
"You too, Regina," he said, letting the door close behind her and returning to his post in the lobby.
She headed to the elevator and rode it up to her floor. Regina got into her apartment and placed her bag on the counter. As she looked around her apartment, sadness filled her despite how festive her place now looked. She had been reminded that she should be focused on her wedding and last-minute tasks for it. But there was no wedding and with her holiday shopping done, there was nothing to distract her.
Except maybe a movie marathon, but she didn't know if she could deal with watching all those couples get their happy endings when hers had been blown into smithereens.
"This is horrible," she said to the air. "I need a distraction but there doesn't seem to be anything that can distract me."
And when she thought about it, the only time she hadn't thought about the wedding that wouldn't be was when she took care of Robin. She pulled out her phone but realized she didn't have his number to check in on him. Regina sighed, setting the phone down again. It seemed she would have to find another distraction.
But she couldn't chase Robin from her mind and she decided to just see if she had some other way to contact him that didn't involve calling the studio - especially as she knew no one would likely respond anyway. She pulled out the paperwork she had been given when she first signed up for classes and saw a business card attached to it. Pulling it off, she saw Robin's name on it and it had his cell phone listed.
She picked up her phone and dialed it, holding her breath as it rang. And rang again. Finally on the third ring, the call connected and she heard Robin's voice. "Hello?"
"Hi, Robin," she said, something fluttering in her stomach. "It's Regina."
"Regina," he replied, his voice brightening. "Are you calling to check up on me? Make sure I've been a good patient?"
She chuckled. "Maybe. Have you?"
"I have," he replied. "I've followed the doctor's orders and done everything my mum said. I have an appointment with my doctor tomorrow and hopefully he will clear me to return to dancing."
"I'll keep my fingers crossed for you," she said. "What are you doing instead?"
She heard the happiness in his voice as he said: "Spending some quality time with Roland. He's been kicking my butt at Mario Kart all day long."
"You sound like you've been enjoying it," she told him, walking over to her couch to get comfortable.
"I have," he replied. "I really love just spending some quality time with him."
Regina smiled as she kicked off her shoes and curled her legs underneath her. "I'm sure he loves spending quality time with you too."
"I think he does," he replied. "Even if what we can do is limited by the fact I'm still under doctor's orders to rest."
"It doesn't matter what you do. All that matters is that you're together," she told him, thinking of her favorite memories with her parents. And despite all the trips they took and everything they did together, the memories that stayed with her involved small, quiet moments where she just got to spend time with her parents - watching movies or cooking with her father, doing face masks and pedicures with her mother. She just remembered the laughter and how loved she felt.
She knew years from now when Roland was an adult, he would likely remember this afternoon spent playing video games and cuddling with his dad on the couch with more fondness than any other memory with Robin.
"You're right," he said softly. "I feel like we get so little time together now that his mother and I are divorced so I try to compensate for that but maybe I get too caught up in doing things, I forget to just be with him. Maybe I needed this reminder."
"That's a good way to look at it," she said. "Though I'm sure you could've done without the concussion."
He chuckled. "That's true."
"Well, I don't want to keep you from him," she said, pressing her hand to her stomach. "I was just calling to check up on you."
"I appreciate that," he replied. "And if you ever want to call to just talk, that's okay."
Her heart skipped a beat and she felt her insides melt a little. "I highly doubt that's why you gave me your cell phone number," she said.
"It was in case you needed to let me know you were running late or needed to cancel," he said, "but I think our partnership has moved a bit past that stage, yeah?"
"I suppose it is," she agreed, now lying on the couch and tucking her hand under her head.
He chuckled before saying: "Oh! I was going to talk to you at our next lesson but since I have you on the phone, I can do it now. We have a big Christmas party every year and it's next Saturday. My mother has invited you to come."
Surprise filled her and she almost sat up again. "Wait, really?"
"Yes," he replied. "It's to thank you for taking care of me."
"That's so sweet," she said. "But she didn't have to do that. You got me dinner. That was a good thank you."
He chuckled. "Well, I know what my mum would say. She would say that was my thank you and this party is her thank you."
"I can see that," she said, thinking about his mother. Even though she hadn't spent much time with her, Regina could tell that Robin inherited his stubbornness from her and that his mother would be insistent that she needed to thank Regina properly herself.
"You are under no obligation to attend," he told her. "I don't want you to feel any pressure or anything."
She bit her lip as she thought about her schedule for the following weekend. Her heart sank as she realized she had cleared it for last-minute wedding preparations. Now that the wedding was off, she had nothing to do. And that seemed even more dangerous as they got closer to the day of the wedding. Maybe a party where only a few people knew about her broken engagement was just what she needed to get her mind off everything.
"I would love to come," she said.
"Really?" he asked, sounding surprised.
She laughed softly before saying: "Yes. I think it will be fun."
"Well, then, I'll tell Mum to expect you," he said. "And I apologize in advance."
"Apologize? For what?" she asked, more amused than alarmed.
He sighed. "My family and friends. As I said, don't let the British accents fool you - we're also Irish. And sometimes we can get rowdy."
She chuckled. "I can't remember the last time I went to a party that turned rowdy. I'm looking forward to it."
"Are you taking the mick out of me now?"
"The mick?" she repeated, even more amused. "No, I promise you I'm not. I really mean it."
He hummed. "Well, I hope we don't disappoint you."
She chuckled. "No matter what happens, I'm sure I'll have a good time."
"Yes," he replied. "I can promise you that."
"Then that's all that matters," she said. "I guess I'll see you tomorrow at my lesson? If you're cleared to dance, that is."
He hummed again. "If I'm not, I'll let you know. Promise."
She knew he would keep his word and smiled, knowing that was just the type of man he was. "Thank you."
"You're welcome," he said. "I'll talk to you tomorrow. Have a good afternoon, Regina."
"You too, Robin. And tell Roland I said hi," she replied. Once he promised he would, they ended the call and she set her phone aside. She took a deep breath, finding her mood had improved.
It was amazing how Robin managed to do that.
She picked up her remote and found a movie to watch. Wrapping herself in a blanket, she sighed as she got lost in someone else's story for a couple hours. Suddenly she didn't mind watching someone else get a happy ending even if she couldn't.

GaaSaku 2023 FanFest Day4
Prompt: Medic
(AU)
“Come on, Gaara,” she groaned. “Not tonight.”
“Just give me ten minutes?” he pleaded; his hands, hot and sweaty as they were, grasped at her own. He held her fingers gingerly and brought them to his lips, speaking against them, “I promise it won’t take long.”
Sakura rolled her eyes and crossed her arms, pulling her hand from his and wiping the sweat from them. “I know it won’t,” she agreed. “You remember what happened last time? I do.”
Gaara chuckled. “You know I’ve been practicing, I’ve gotten better,” he countered, stating his case for the umpteenth time that day.
Sakura couldn’t help but glance back to the open mat behind him where Lee could be seen shadow boxing in the studio mirror, checking his form. “So? The whole team has been practicing for nationals. He’s gotten better, too,” Sakura stated back, a tempered warning in her words. She learned very early in their relationship that no one in the dojo was going to keep that bloated ego of his in check if she didn’t. Being top players in the division and instructors at the dojo, he and his colleagues were often left uncontested unless against one another. Gaara though, no matter how much she loved him and admired his proficiency in weapons specialties, just wasn’t a match for Lee in point sparing. “You were nearly concussed last time, and,” she emphasized by pulling him a little closer by the sleeve of his gi. “He had you down after three rounds.”
Gaara thinned his lips trying to hold back his smirk, but as usual he failed. “Ten more minutes,” he said as he stepped closer, slipping around the subject while slipping his hands around her waist. He pulled her against him. “And then whatever you want tonight is yours.”
Sakura turned her face when he bent down to kiss her, though it didn’t deter him from pressing his nose against her hair and breathing in the scent of her shampoo. It was a promise she had heard before and one that he was all too eager to uphold. Usually, it paid off to go along with it; another hour for practice here, another spar with Naruto there, and the rest of her evening was filled with his undivided attention. Gaara loved giving her said attention, and he was more than equipped to do so.
Having been in taekwondo since he was a young boy, Gaara had earned his blackbelt by the age of twelve and had known nothing outside the world of competitions, perfection of form, and intense physical training. He’d been making a living by winning weapons competitions across the country before he went up against the top competitor from Uzumaki Dojo and quickly found himself with a shiny new medal and recruitment to a full-time gig at the best studio in town. The Uzumaki’s had made a name for themselves and they fared no less when their son took over the business. They had a large facility that hosted anything from beginner level classes in Tai Chi and kick boxing, to expert level martial arts specialization fit for competitions at national levels, even global some years. Given the intensity of some of their programs, Sakura had been hired a few years back as an onsite RN that also had a license in physical therapy and massage therapy. She was an invaluable asset to the dojo and played a key role in keeping their fighters in shape for competition.
That was how Gaara found his way into her life; a series of overblown sprains and pulled muscles that had him seeking her out once or twice a week until she finally broke down and accused him of purposely monopolizing her time, to which he responded by stating that he wouldn’t have to if she would just go out with him, and he’d been showering her with his attention ever since.
But a tussle with Lee would leave him in no condition to do so, she was absolutely sure of it, and she preferred they start their weekend without a care regiment. Sakura wasn’t a fan of bringing her work home with her, but with Gaara moved in, it followed her home more often than not these days.
So, she tried a different approach.
Looking back up, she pushed her weight forward and leaned against him, those green doe eyes of hers blinking at him as she pouted. “You promised we would spend the night together,” she mumbled with a half-hearted whine, reminding him that with nationals coming up, their free time together at home was dwindling. Gaara ran his fingers through her hair, openly enjoying her methods. “You were going to take me to dinner.”
“My love, you know I will,” Gaara practically purred in response as he bent down and kissed her forehead. “Just be patient.”
She huffed and broke away from him to sit down on the benches beside the mats. He gave her a wink and readjusted his gi before joining Lee. They both seemed too eager for an honest rematch with each other as far as Sakura was concerned, as were some of the seasoned students and other senseis that gathered at the edges of the mat to watch.
Naruto and Hinata, their employers and the owners of Uzumaki Dojo, joined her at the bench. They had dismissed the last class of the day and came over to see what the excitement was all about. Being the procurers of the talent employed by the dojo, as well as one of their competing specialists in form, Naruto stepped over to referee their match.
All the onlookers, Sakura and Hinata included, were watching quietly for the first round. It lasted less than thirty seconds before Lee landed enough strikes to end it and get his first point, no shocker there, and Gaara quickly called for the start of the next round, already returning to stance.
“Is Gaara looking to compete in point sparring at nationals this year?” Hinata asked, her sentence punctuated by the sharp Si-jak called out by her husband.
Sakura shook her head, bobbing her heel on the ground as the air filled with the sounds of sliding feet and deflected strikes. “No, sticking to his usual,” she said with a sigh. “He’s just trying to fix that sore pride Lee gave him.”
“Point, Lee!” Naruto called out. Gaara cursed and his opponent was all too eager to encourage him to try again, to try harder. “Bah ro!”
“I don’t know,” Hinata mused thoughtfully, tilting her head to throw Sakura a side-glance.
“Si-jak!” The next round started, Gaara was certainly putting greater force behind his strikes, and he’d gotten faster at deflecting Lee’s blows, but Lee had been busy keeping everyone in his dust.
“It has been a while,” Hinata continued. “I have a feeling he just wants to relive the nostalgia.”
Another point to Lee, another call for return to start. Round four; they certainly weren’t wasting any time, and she had to at least give him credit for the new personal record against Lee.
Sakura looked over to her and couldn’t help but laugh. “Of getting kicked in the head?”
Shaking her head, Hinata explained, “You know he wasn’t even aware we had an onsite medic until you needed to monitor him for symptoms of concussion?”
Sakura nodded; oh yes, she definitely remembered. She had been late to work that day with car troubles and received a call while at the mechanics; Lee overdid it with the new guy and they were wondering what the warning signs of a head injury were. She left her car at the shop and immediately called for a taxi, all the while running through some questions with Naruto over the phone. Arriving as soon as she could, she walked into work only to hear Gaara barking from the back rooms that he didn’t need to be looked at and he was fine. He obviously hadn’t dealt with defeat much, he was also visibly surprised when she was introduced to him as his coworker, and she’d certainly had her hands full with him after that.
“Hurt pride or not; I think that was his favorite day at work to date.” She smiled over to her friend, a rare and mischievous expression crossing her face. “It’s not often you get a girlfriend as a consolation prize.”
Sakura looked away from the teasing in Hinata’s eyes only to see her lover take a swift elbow strike to the side of the face followed by a side kick to the ribs. Failing to counter the kick left him open for another set of blows to the ribs and that finished off the points needed for the fourth round to be Lee’s win.
Gaara’s back found the mats soon after and Lee laughed as he collided with the ground. “I’m sorry, man! I thought you’d keep up.”
Gaara groaned for him to shut up as he leaned up on an elbow and clutched his side. He looked over to his girlfriend from his spot on the floor, eagerly looking for her sympathy while feigning more pain than he was likely actually in. She became convinced that Hinata had been right; if losing against Lee meant reliving the first day they met, he’d be happy to taste that defeat again.
Somewhat apologetically, Lee looked across the mat to where Hinata could be seen grabbing the first-aid bag from beside the bench and jokingly handing it over to Sakura, and he called out, “Medic!”

YN anxiously glanced at the clock above Mr.Choi's balding head. In less than ten minutes, she would be flying out of that door toward the main library, which, to her good fortune, was on the other side of the campus
She honestly, considered bailing on Yunjin's idea. But, if she bailed, she knew hopes of this wedding would be in a box, shipped to her mother, and smashed with a hammer.
And then her mom would smash her head with said hammer.
YN swallowed dryly, once again glancing at the clock. Her classmate, Jimin, noticed this much.
" You look ready to go more than usual today," Jimin mused. Wiggling her brows, she continued, " Got a hot date?"
" Nope, though that would nice!" YN replied, matter-of-factually. " But today I have important business to attend to!"
Jimin snorted. " Important business? Like what, renting an ice cream truck and riding around campus blasting Lemonade?"
YN shook her head, making sure to file that idea down. " As tempting as that sounds, no! I have to meet with Yunjin and everyone to find a wedding planner to help me plan my mom's wedding.”
Jimin's face morphed into pure shock. " Wait, what? Your mom's getting remarried? I though you said that she said she would rather jump off of a cliff into a pit of king cobras that get married again."
YN nodded. " That's what she said," she clasped her hands together, batting her eyelashes for effect, " But I guess true love's arrow finally pierced her heart."
Jimin shook her head amused at YN’s theatrics. "Have you met her fiancé yet ?"
YN put up one finger. "Just once when I went to the house to pick up more of my stuff.” She squinted her eyes in deep thought, “ I think his name is Paul.. Matt.. something like that,” she shrugged,” Eh,I don't remember."
Jimin sighed.
"And now you have to plan the wedding for your Mom and whatever his name is?"
" Yes ma'am!"
Jimin sighed again, deeper and more disappointed. "May the odds be in your favor, my dear."
YN kissed three fingers on her left hand and tried to touch Jimin's face, to which Jimin swatted her hand. YN went to try again when suddenly her teacher's voice cut in.
" Class dismissed. Don't forget your final drafts are due next week!'
YN immediately stood up and began packing her things with lighting speed.
" Love you, Jimin," she said, rushing down the steps, " I'll fill you in later!"
Jimin's goodbye rang out behind her. " Good luck, YN! Tell everyone I said hello!"
YN kept running, giving a thumbs up to her as she bolted out of the door. Dodging students came naturally to YN, since she usually did so to avoid the campus police.
( Now pause. Let's not be mistaken, she's a good kid. Twenty-two, straight A's, currently ranked fourth in her university, great friends who loved her, and a stable income from a job that has yet to fire her. But unfortunately, she took after her father when it came to common sense. For example, during her first year, she rode a hot pink golf cart around campus in a unicorn onesie to prove to Beomgyu that she was, in fact, not chicken.)
But apparently, her skills were getting rusty. She hadn't had any time to react before she slammed into a boy carrying a mile-high stack of books. Yelping, both came crashing down to the floor, books splaying everywhere. YN immediately sprung up, used to falling due to past experiences ( one of which happened last week).
But the boy did not fare the same. He remained on the floor, rubbing his head, still dazed. It gave her time to get a good look at him. She noticed his black hair was slightly messy as a cowlick stuck up from his head. His wire-rimmed glasses hung haphazardly from his face, barely hanging onto his pierced ear. When his cat-shaped eyes opened, they reminded YN of the tapioca at the bottom of the milk tea she made at work. She could stare at them for hours and hours and not get tired. His voice, revealing his tiredness, brought her back to reality.
" Are you okay?" His tone was seeped in worry, like it was her on the ground slightly buried in a pile of books and papers.
" Yeah, yeah, I'm fine! But are you okay? Can you stand? I am so sorry! Let me help you clean up!"
She quickly kneeled down to pick up some of the books, distracting herself from some of the titles so she didn't blatantly check the stranger out.
"How to a Run Medium-Sized Business: For Beginners, Stressed Out: Essays Submitted by the World's Most Stressed Out People, How Rude!: The Ultimate Guide for Handling Rude Customers.. poor guy," she thought to herself.
As she did so, another set of hands began picking up organic chemistry and advanced calculus papers with her handwriting on them.
" You seem to be in quite the hurry, so you can leave this to me!"
She waved off his request, smiling, " No, it's alright, most of the papers are mine anyway. And besides, my friends most likely expect me to be ten minutes late!"
" It seems we both were on our way to see friends," he responded kindly," As much as I would love to stay, I have to make sure they don't burn my apartment down- so let's finish quickly!"
Speedily, they continued, sorting books and papers and giving each other their respective property.
" Thank you so much for your help," the boy said, bowing as best as possible with twenty books.
" It was no big deal, it was my fault anyway, which again I'm sorry for," she responded, slightly embarrassed, " I'll let you get going! I don't want your apartment to be in flames because I kept you too long."
" Don't be sorry, it was an accident! I'll catch you later, yeah?"
Then, he showed her the warmest smile she had ever seen in her entire life. She could have sworn her heart stopped when she saw his dimples pop out. Her mind became a blank canvas, painted with only thoughts of this boy.
" Sure, " she managed to reply without stuttering.
He smiled again, killing YN's heart once more, and turned to walk towards his hopefully still-standing apartment. YN was thankful he was going in the opposite direction. He would have come face to face with her deep blush.
After his boba-shaped head disappeared,  she remembered why she was running in the first place. Sighing to herself, she began jogging once again. She sure hoped that Hanni had decided to bring extra Baja blasts for everyone.
She was going to need one to calm down her raging heart.

Airline Overbooking: Why It Happens & How to Avoid It
You book your flight weeks in advance, arrive at the airport on time only to be told the flight is full. No seat for you.
Welcome to the world of airline overbooking.
While frustrating, this practice is a calculated move by airlines to offset no-shows and boost profits. But what does it mean for passengers, and how can you protect yourself or your employees?
Let us unpack it.
Why Airlines Overbook Flights
Overbooking is not an error; it is a strategy. Airlines use AI and historical data to predict how many passengers will show up. Since some cancel, miss connections, or change plans at the last minute, selling a few extra seats keeps flights full and prices low.
Why They Do It:
Offset No-Shows: Avoid flying with empty seats.
Maximize Revenue: Full planes = higher earnings.
Stay Competitive: It is an industry norm.
Enable Lower Prices: Efficiency reduces overall ticket costs.
How Airlines Decide Who Gets Bumped
When everyone shows up and the plane’s oversold, someone has to go. Here is how they choose:
First to be bumped:
Basic economy passengers
Late check-ins
Solo travelers
Last to be bumped:
Business/first-class passengers
Elite loyalty members
Passengers with special needs
Know Your Rights: Compensation Matters
In the U.S. (DOT Guidelines)
0–1 hour delay: No compensation
1–2 hours (domestic): 200% of one-way fare (up to $775)
2+ hours: 400% (up to $1,550)
In the EU (EU261 Regulation)
€250 to €600 depending on flight distance
Must also provide food, lodging, and communication during long delays
Pro Tip: Always ask for cash, not vouchers. Vouchers may have restrictions.
How to Avoid Getting Bumped
You cannot eliminate the risk, but you can reduce it:
Check in early – First come, first served.
Avoid basic economy – These are the first to go.
Join loyalty programs – Status helps.
Take direct flights – Fewer complications.
Use travel-protected credit cards – For potential reimbursements.
Real-World Examples
United Airlines (2017): A passenger was forcibly removed—triggering a PR crisis.
Delta (2022): Offered $10,000 to volunteers—a PR win instead.
Final Takeaway
Overbooking may benefit airlines, but it can upend passenger plans. Whether you are a business traveler or managing corporate travel, being informed can make all the difference.
Know your rights
 Make smart booking choices
 Negotiate compensation when needed

TAP Airlines Cancellation Policy: Everything You Need to Know
Tumblr media
TAP Air Portugal is the flag carrier airline of Portugal, offering both domestic and international flights. Whether you’re booking for a leisure trip, business, or even a last-minute getaway, understanding the airline’s cancellation policy is crucial. This comprehensive guide will provide you with all the essential details about TAP Airlines cancellation policy, including how to cancel a flight, refund eligibility, and more.
TAP Airlines Cancellation Policy Overview
TAP Airlines offers flexibility in managing your flight cancellations, but there are important factors that passengers must consider when seeking to cancel a booking. The cancellation policy may vary depending on the fare class, the time of cancellation, and the type of ticket purchased. Let’s take a closer look at the airline’s policies.
1. Cancellation Within 24 Hours of Booking
Tumblr media
One of the most passenger-friendly aspects of TAP Airlines' cancellation policy is that passengers can cancel their flights within 24 hours of booking for a full refund. This applies regardless of whether you booked directly with the airline or through an online travel agency.
This 24-hour grace period allows travelers to cancel their flight without incurring any penalties, provided the flight is at least seven days away. If you are booking a last-minute flight and decide to cancel immediately after booking, TAP Airlines gives you peace of mind by offering a no-questions-asked cancellation option.
2. Refundable vs. Non-Refundable Tickets
TAP Airlines offers both refundable and non-refundable tickets, which significantly influence your options for flight cancellation.
Refundable Tickets: If you purchased a refundable ticket, you are eligible for a full refund when canceling the flight, regardless of the reason for cancellation. However, TAP Airlines may charge a processing fee depending on the conditions of the ticket. These fees can vary, so it’s essential to check the terms and conditions when purchasing a refundable ticket.
Non-Refundable Tickets: Non-refundable tickets are generally cheaper but come with stricter cancellation rules. If you need to cancel a non-refundable ticket, you may not be entitled to a refund. However, TAP Airlines may offer you a travel credit for the value of the ticket, which can be used for future bookings with the airline. This credit is often valid for a specific period, and you may be subject to certain fees or restrictions.
3. Flight Cancellations Due to Extraordinary Circumstances
Tumblr media
TAP Airlines understands that situations such as natural disasters, medical emergencies, or government-imposed travel restrictions can disrupt travel plans. If your flight is canceled due to extraordinary circumstances, the airline may provide you with the option to either cancel or rebook your flight at no extra cost.
In such cases, TAP Airlines strives to offer a refund, travel credit, or rebooking alternatives. Passengers are advised to contact the airline directly to discuss the best course of action based on their specific situation.
4. How to Cancel a TAP Airlines Flight
Cancelling your flight with TAP Airlines is relatively simple. You can do it through the following channels:
Online: Visit the TAP Airlines website and log into your account. From there, navigate to "Manage My Booking," where you can view your flight details and cancel your booking. If you booked through a third-party agency, you will need to reach out to them for assistance.
Customer Service: If you’re unable to cancel online or prefer speaking to someone directly, TAP Airlines offers customer support through phone and email. The airline’s customer service representatives can help guide you through the process and assist with cancellations and refund inquiries.
5. TAP Miles & Refunds
Tumblr media
If you used TAP Miles (Frequent Flyer points) for your booking, the cancellation policy varies depending on how the ticket was paid for. Typically, you may be able to have the TAP Miles credited back to your account if you cancel the booking, but you should check the details specific to your reservation.
If your flight is canceled by TAP Airlines, you will be reimbursed in the same manner in which the payment was made—whether through credit card, debit card, or TAP Miles.
FAQs About TAP Airlines Cancellation Policy

With the flexibility to cancel within 24 hours of booking for a full refund and options for changing or rebooking flights, TAP strives to make the process easier for travelers. However, as with any airline, it's crucial to read the terms and conditions related to your specific ticket type to avoid any surprises.
If you’ve booked your flight through a third-party agency like Flyviatrip, be sure to reach out to them directly for assistance with cancellations, changes, or refund requests. By doing so, you can ensure that your trip remains hassle-free, even in the event of changes or cancellations.
Traveling with peace of mind begins with knowing your options—whether you're booking a flight, canceling, or adjusting your plans. TAP Airlines offers a range of policies to cater to various travel needs, ensuring that your journey is as seamless as possible.

How to Choose the Right Airport Transfer Service for Large Groups in Bangalore
Tumblr media
Why Choosing the Right Airport Transfer Matters for Large Groups
It might be challenging to arrange an airport transfer for a large group in Bangalore. Everyone will arrive at the destination on time without unnecessary holding up or confusion, if the process is easy. Here's why it's important to select the right service:
Convenient Experience: Trying to organize several taxis or cab-hailing vehicles can be hectic. Advance booking of an airport transfer service prevents last-minute hassle and maintains your group intact.
Pre-Booking and On-Spot Booking: Pre-booking guarantees a car at decent price, and trouble-free experience. Spot bookings are costly and may not be within one's budget during peak hours, particularly on weekends and holidays.
Problems Encountered by Large Groups: Some of the problems encountered are that cars are not big enough to fit all of them comfortably, there is no ample space for luggage, driving along unfamiliar routes, and encountering rush hours. All such issues are eliminated through an effective airport shuttle service.
