Sometimes I think a little too much about how if just one person reached out emotionally to Lao and tried to truly empathetically listen to why he was so sad, none of the back half of Xenoblade Chronicles X would have happened. Like we see that demonstrated when he does his whole villain monologue to us that when we listen, and when we reach out with true empathy and understanding, that even if we disagree that he finds some solace which is exactly why he comes back to the "good guys" (though as he points out we have so many bureaucratic problems) in the end. And I just think about how if someone had done that earlier, how different things would be. And I think it reflects so much on how we treat mental health as a real society.
