Heidi Law HK | Musician and sound artist
Lantau Today - Website Art
Meditation tool with field recordings of Lantau Island ocean shores. She aligns with the moon, she dances under the sun. She floats our dreams, she holds our tears. She washes young bodies ashore, she replenishes worn out souls. Breath in, take a plunge, breath out, release. Breath in, vision a new reality, breath out, believe. Heal, before tomorrow is being decided for us. Note: Lantau Tomorrow Vision is a development project in Hong Kong launched by Chief Executive Carrie Lam in her 2018 policy address which includes constructing artificial islands with a total area of about 1,700 hectares through massive land reclamation near Kau Yi Chau and Hei Ling Chau of the eastern waters of Lantau Island. The project has met with controversy and opposition for its high cost, as well as environmental concerns.

The land of dreams and fantasy
Tumblr media
It’s all part of our childhood that we do believe of fairy tale, happy endings, fantasy and consider that the characters we saw are even real. We ever dream of being a hero or a princess just like we saw in our favorite cartoon movie and shows. And we are all familiar in these characters that made our childhood more memorable just because of them. Those moments that we missed of being a kid with no problems or stress to worry about and playing all day is all we ever mind. We missed those times and we would like to go back of being a kid again. Now let me take you back to your childhood as we are going to experience the fantasy land of Hong Kong Disneyland.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hong Kong Disneyland is the fifth Disneyland in the world with a current area of 22.4 hectares. Although it is the smallest Disneyland, it is being expanded ever since. It is one of the one of the most visited place and one of the tourist destination in Hong Kong. The  theme park is located on reclaimed land in Penny’s Bay, Lantau Island. It is located inside the Hong Kong Disneyland Resort and it is owned and managed by the Hong Kong International Theme Park.
Hong Kong Disneyland has some unique attractions compared with other Disneyland. The most highlight place in Disneyland is their Seven Land theme area.  Before, the theme park consist of only  four theme parks and on 30 June 2009, Donald Tsang, the Chief executive of Hong Kong, announced that the expansion of Hong Kong Disneyland had been approved by the Executive Council. The park is divided into "lands" (themed areas) and well-concealed backstage areas and these areas are mainly:
·         Main Street, U.S.A., designed to resemble an early 20th-century Midwest town;
·         Adventureland, featuring jungle-themed adventures;
·         Fantasyland, bringing to life characters and places from Disney's movies for children;
·         Tomorrowland, an optimistic vision of the future.
·         Toy Story Land, based on the Disney·Pixar film series Toy Story.
·         Toy Story Land, based on the Disney·Pixar film series Toy Story. Opened 18 November 2011.
·         Grizzly Gulch, reminiscing an abandoned mining town set amidst mountains and woods. Opened 14 July 2012.
·         Mystic Point, heart of a dense, uncharted rain forest where supernatural events take place. Opened 17 May 2013
Surely you will never missed visiting one of your favorite parks and those amazing rides. It makes more fun in visiting the castles and of course to meet and greet the characters that Disney became popular because of them. These well-known characters  incorporates Chinese culture and customs into the park. Mickey and Minnie dressed  in red new suit that is always aligned into their tradition of luck.
The park features a daytime parade "Flights of Fantasy", as well as a nighttime parade "Paint the Night", and a nighttime firework show "Disney in the Stars". Seasonal entertainment, such as "Disney's Haunted Halloween", "A Sparkling Christmas", and "Disney's Chinese New Year", are held in the park to celebrate major holidays. And Hong Kong Disneyland has organised entertainment and a number of shows as part of the festive celebrations to attract more visitors, especially young adults.
“To all who come to this happy place, welcome. Many years ago, Walt Disney introduced the world to enchanted realms of fantasy and adventure, yesterday and tomorrow, in a magical place called Disneyland. Today that spirit of imagination and discovery comes to life in Hong Kong. Hong Kong Disneyland is dedicated to the young and the young at heart - with the hope that it will be a source of joy and inspiration, and an enduring symbol of the cooperation, friendship and understanding between the people of Hong Kong and the United States of America.”
—  Michael D. Eisner and Donald  Tsang,  12 September 2005
There are so many interesting places we would like to go and experience once in a lifetime. And Disney is where we first create our ambitions and teaches us to be aspirants of our dreams. It is where we built the great memories of our childhood and been a part of growing up. Disneyland is where your dream comes true! Believe in your self as the characters inspires you to become the person you are today
.Visit Hong Kong Disneyland the most magical place on earth!

Hong Kong’s government wants to build 4,200 acres of artificial islands in the South China Sea, hoping to solve a housing crisis that’s gripped roughly 20 percent of its population. But the first phase of the plan, called Lantau Tomorrow Vision, which would create nearly 2,500 acres of space for a new office district and up to 260,000 apartments, has drawn heavy criticism, according to the LA Times. Hong Kong reveals plan to build one of the world’s largest artificial islands
However, the Lantau Tomorrow Vision project has come under fire from a number of quarters over environmental concerns and the massive cost to the city’s coffers. Innovation to boost construction
The construction industry contributes more than 5% to Hong Kong's GDP, while employing about 9% of our workforce.
      The results are visible, and visibly impressive. The Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge, now the world's longest sea crossing, was commissioned only last month. The previous month, the Express Rail Link, connecting Hong Kong to the national high speed railway network, opened for business - and pleasure as well. Next year, the Liangtang/Heung Yuen Wai Boundary Crossing Facility will be up and running.
      From a regional perspective, these links enhance our overall connectivity with the Mainland. In particular, they deepen our integration with the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, while strengthening our singular position as Asia's world city.
      During the construction stage, these infrastructure projects expand employment opportunities. And, upon completion, they boost economic prospects and improve our overall living environment.
      It's not surprising, then, that the Government's annual infrastructural investment has soared from about HK$20 billion to more than HK$80 billion over the past decade. In the coming five years, the contract value of public and private construction works in Hong Kong altogether is estimated to reach HK$250 billion to HK$300 billion per year.
      One of the upcoming major infrastructure projects we have in our plan is of course the Lantau Tomorrow Vision.
      The plan will see artificial islands developed in stages. These could provide about 260,000 to 400,000 housing units, with about 70% as public housing, accommodating a population ranging from about 700,000 to as much as 1.1 million.
      We will also build Hong Kong's third core business district on the artificial islands, creating some 340,000 employment opportunities.
      We therefore need your help, to be sure. A stable supply of quality construction materials is essential for the upcoming reclamation projects – and for the many other infrastructure projects in the planning stage or on the horizon that will give shape and substance to Hong Kong in this 21st century.
      The future must be built on productivity, on quality, safety and environmental performance. This demands innovation – from you, and from the construction industry as a whole.
      That's why the Government now advocates "Construction 2.0", smart movement towards automation, industrialisation and digitalisation.
      I'm pleased to hear that your industry has been developing, and promoting, the use of environmental and sustainable construction materials.
      The adoption of manufactured sand to replace natural sand in cement plastering and reclamation work is a good case in point. M-sand, a by-product of aggregate production, is an environmentally friendly material in comparison with natural sand.
      Since last month, the Development Bureau mandated the use of M-sand for plastering, rendering and screeding in new public works contracts. Working with the materials industry, the Government is exploring a wider application of M-sand and other green materials, including recycled glass and bitumen, in Hong Kong construction.
      I understand that your association, working with a Rebar Processing Solution Committee, is promoting the use of off-site steel prefabrication. That's a step in the right direction. And the recently launched HK$1 billion Construction Innovation & Technology Fund will support the wider application of innovative construction methods and technology. Indeed, the use of prefabricated steel products is a designated item under the fund.
 Financial Secretary Paul Chan gave these remarks at the Construction Materials Association Annual Dinner on November 13.
